Apparently, another round of bar price increases is making the rounds, but I'm not sure if it's made it to Brilliance - Do you by any chance remember what the prevailing price was for a fairly standard well cocktail, or even a premium on like a grey goose vodka or something?

Do you know which menus are served on this cruise out of the ones listed

We were on the NYE sailing and the top shelf drinks were $12 , Beers 6.50 Hope this helps!

The best family vacation can look very different depending on whether you’re traveling with toddlers, teens, newborns or kids who are in college or older. Age can influence everything from where you eat to what activities you choose to fill your days off with as your family’s interests evolve throughout the years. I know firsthand how challenging it can seem to plan a vacation that will appeal to everyone in your group — which is why cruising has become my go-to when it comes to planning group escapes. Family cruises make it easy to cater to a diverse range of needs and preferences because they offer so many different options, from restaurants to shows and onboard experiences. There are plenty of cruise attractions for kids, cruise activities for teens, things for adults to do and childcare options that even make cruising with a baby a breeze.

Of course, once you start researching the wide world of cruising, you’ll quickly realize you have lots of ships to choose from. But one of my all-time favorites for low-key, laidback family cruises is Brilliance of the Seas. This Radiance Class cruise ship isn’t one of the biggest on offer, but that’s one of the things I love best about it. Because it’s a midsized ship, the vibe tends to be more intimate and relaxed — and relaxing is my favorite thing to do on family cruises. Because there are fewer guests onboard, it’s also easier to get to know other cruising families throughout your sailing.

That said, Brilliance of the Seas still offers plenty of activities to ensure a fun vacation for the whole family. There’s a 40-foot rock-climbing wall that offers awe-inspiring views of the ocean (and a pretty solid workout, to boot). A sunny pool deck that doubles as the setting for bellyflop competitions, dance parties and movie nights under the stars. A stellar dining scene that offers delicious options sure to please even the pickiest eaters. A mini golf course that promises hours of family fun for all ages. And dazzling, family-friendly cruise entertainment every night of your sailing that’s completely complimentary. Royal Caribbean Cancels Brilliance Cruises Following Technical Issue

Royal Caribbean International is canceling cruises onboard the Brilliance of the Seas. According to the company, a technical issue is impacting the vessel, which is completing a winter program in Australia & the South Pacific .

Affected sailings include an 11-night voyage to the South Pacific Islands that departed on March 19, and a five-night cruise to Tasmania that was scheduled to sail on March 30.

In a statement sent to guests, Royal Caribbean said that the first sailing was cut short on March 22, while the second sailing is no longer taking place.

“As you may know, the Brilliance of the Seas experienced a technical issue on its last sailing, and we’re returning early to begin required maintenance,” the company explained.

“Our crew has started working on restoring the system and we’re deploying the best experts. Despite our efforts, we are unable to complete the needed repairs to be ready in time on March 30, 2024.”

As a result, the sailing scheduled for that day had to be cancelled, the company added.

“We know how much time and effort go into planning your cruise and we’re truly sorry for this disappointing news,” Royal Caribbean concluded.

Passengers who were set to board the Brilliance on March 30 will receive a full refund, the company said, in addition to a 50 percent Future Cruise Credit (FCC) that can be used toward any future sailing departing within one year.

Guests will also be reimbursed for non-refundable, pre-purchased travel fees incurred, such as flight, hotel, train tickets or car rentals, Royal Caribbean added, noting that it will cover up to $250 per guest for domestic changes, and up to $400 per guest for international changes.

Passengers who left Sydney on March 19 and had their cruise cut short are also set to receive a 50 percent FCC, the company said.

Wrapping up its winter program in Australia, the Brilliance of the Seas is scheduled to depart on a trans-Pacific voyage to Hawaii on April 12, 2024.

The ship will then depart on a repositioning cruise to Canada before starting a summer program in Alaska.

RCI-Royal Caribbean's ship Brilliance of the Seas cut voyage short due to propulsion problem

RCI/Royal Caribbean International 's ship Brilliance of the Seas is facing an unexpected setback during the current South Pacific voyage, as the vessel encounters a technical issue with its propulsion system .

As a result, RCI decided to cancel the ongoing sailing prematurely.

Additionally, the itinerary slated for March 30th has been called off.

Reports from passengers aboard Brilliance OTS indicate that the ship encountered technical difficulties while en route from Australia to the Eastern Melanesia Islands. Consequently, RCI opted to truncate the voyage. With the repair timeline in mind, the subsequent itinerary has also been canceled.

Departing from Sydney NSW Australia on March 19th, Brilliance OTS embarked on an 11-night voyage. Initially planned as a South Pacific itinerary with stops at 5 ports of call across New Caledonia and Vanuatu, the voyage experienced disruptions due to the propulsion issue.

Despite the challenges, the ship managed to reach Lifou Isle/New Caledonia on March 22nd, but arrived ~90 minutes behind schedule, attributed to the propulsion issue, which resulted in reduced cruising speed.
