Best holiday ever.

We upgraded our MSC experience to Yacht Club due to the size of the ship and number of passengers onboard. What a great decision that was - a fantastic experience from start to finish from the large Suite to the 24 hour Butler and mini-bar. Priority seating for shows and embarkation and disembarkations also. If we ever decide to do MSC again it will 100% be in Yacht Club.

We had dinner in the Opera Restaurant and our two waiters were amazing. They were kind, friendly and professional. They were genuine in how we were, what we had been doing and ensuring that we received the best service. We were on table 934 and all in the restaurant were polite and friendly and the food was amazing. Not one meal was below standard all exceeded so well done to the chef. Our housekeeping responsible for our room did an excellent job our ensuring our room was clean and tidy. The staff that work on the information desk need some recognition for the job they do. The time I went to visit them they were helpful ensured I walked away full satisfied that my queries had been answered. I also witnessed the constant barrage of rudeness and aggression that they receive often and on a daily basis. It was so unfair for them to have to endure this but they all remained professional which they do need to be rewarded for.

DAY 1 30 Sep 2023 Time at Port: from 7 AM to 8 PM

The UK’s largest cruise port and where many will begin their cruise holiday, Southampton has no shortage of maritime and historical attractions. Discover local landmarks on a walking tour including 30 ancient monuments, learn about the tragic story of the Titanic and escape to the great outdoors at the New Forest National Park. With numerous options for seafood dining and even a free art gallery, Southampton is an undoubtedly great destination for a pre or post-cruise stay.

Dedicated to the tragedy of the Titanic, SeaCity Museum excellently portrays the aftermath through interactive exhibits. Featuring a 1:25 scale model of the ship, visitors learn about life onboard as well as the disaster that deeply affected Southampton in 1912.

Home to over 20 aircraft that were integral to the war effort, Solent Sky Museum is dedicated to the history of the RAF. Southampton itself played a large role in producing Supermarine Spitfires, which you’ll learn all about here.

If you’re looking to escape the busy port city, the New Forest National Park is just a short distance away with native New Forest ponies and lush heathland. Visitors can also catch events, activities and workshops throughout the year.

As Southampton’s most important historic building, this restored home holds over 800 years of history after having numerous owners. Now a museum, it showcases many artefacts once belonging to past residents of Southampton, as well as a Tudor House Café.

Since opening in 1939, this free art gallery has showcased exhibitions of sculptures, photography and traditional paintings. Thanks to an ever-changing programme of activities, you’ll find something here that the whole family will enjoy.

DAY 2 01 Oct 2023 Time at Port: from 7 AM to 8 PM

This charming port town in Normandy is the gateway to France's chic capital, but is also a destination in its own right. Stick around the coast to explore the Musée des Beaux Arts and the D-Day beaches, or go on an optional shore excursion to Mont St Michel, the medieval town of Rouen, or into Paris.

One of the most beautiful landmarks in Le Havre, St. Joseph’s Church was built 50 years ago and has a unique post-war design, with a 107m high ceiling, and a combination of concrete and stained glass. Situated in the centre of the city, this marvel of architecture is worth a visit when in Le Havre for a stop over.

The 19th-century Hanging Gardens provide an outstanding view of the sea, the Seine estuary, and the rebuilt city. They are housed in an ancient fort. From the top of these gardens, the World Heritage Site of Le Havre comes into view.

If you love history, or the grandeur of French architecture, the Maison de l’Armateur is a must see. Situated within a stately 18th century mansion, it features beautiful and historic artwork, furnishings dating back to the era of Louis XVI and an impressive octagonal atrium.

DAY 4 03 Oct 2023 Time at Port: from 8 AM to 6 PM

Whether you’re looking to top up your tan on the beach with shops and restaurants just a short walk away, or looking to explore fascinating museums and ancient castles, La Coruna offers attractions for everyone. This trendy and modern city features a busy hub in the centre with an abundance of dining and shopping, as well as unique moments such as the Tower of Hercules. From here, enjoy the sweeping views out to sea – and don’t forget your camera!

Though this aquarium may be small, it features numerous rooms dedicated to the marine life in the Atlantic Ocean. Most notable is the Nautilus, a room submerged in the sea for optimal viewing of sharks, rays, octopus and many species of fish.

Dedicated to the science of human beings, Domus boasts more than 150 interactive features to educate and entertain visitors. Discover numerous exhibitions covering genetics, evolution and modern medicine, as well as the Open Laboratory space.

One of the most popular beaches in the city, Riazor beach stretches along the promenade with restaurants, bars and cafés in close proximity. You’ll find both golden sand and rockier areas, as well as calm water and waves perfect for surfing.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009, the Tower of Hercules once served as a lighthouse and landmark for La Coruna harbour. Visitors can explore the basement and venture up 234 steps to the balcony to admire the vast views.

DAY 6 05 Oct 2023 Time at Port: from 7 AM to 8 PM

Considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, Cádiz charms every visitor who sets foot there. It’s 3,000 years of history are just waiting to be discovered through its monuments, museums, and winding streets, with Cadiz Cathedral being a real highlight. Families will love Playa La Caleta which has all the amenities needed to spend a whole day on the sand and in the water, but don’t forget to check out which festivals and celebrations are going on during your visit.

Built between 1722 and 1838, the iconic yellow-domed Cadiz Cathedral is an impressive example of Baroque-neoclassical construction. When taking a look around inside, be sure to check out the wood-carved choir, and listen out for the sound effects in the crypt below.

This free-to-enter monument is a real hidden gem on La Caleta beach. The exterior of this 17th-century fortress is impressive itself, and visitors will find art exhibitions inside as well as craft workshops and concerts.

Filled with swaying palm trees, blooming flora and lush, green fauna, Genovés Park is a brilliant place to escape the faster pace of the city. Boasting plants from all over the world as well as waterfalls and wildlife, people of all ages will love this tranquil garden.

It’s no wonder Playa La Caleta is Cadiz’ most popular beach. Visitors will find everything they need close to the golden sand, including restaurants, bars and flamenco clubs, as well as toilets and showers.

On a small islet at the end of La Caleta beach sits the Castle of San Sebastian. Construction began in 1706 to fortify the bays defence, and in 1985 the structure was declared a cultural landmark. Explore the grounds and discover the long, rich history of this well-preserved fortress.

DAY 7 06 Oct 2023 Time at Port: from 7 AM to 8 PM

As the largest city in Morocco, Casablanca is the modern hub of the country where business and art comes to prosper. The magnitude of the city means that while it may not have the intimate feel of a small town, there’s plenty to be discovered by simply exploring. Visit the spectacular Hassan II Mosque, discover the history of Judaism in Morocco at the museum and take a long walk along the scenic waterfront boulevard.

With the ocean as a picturesque backdrop, the Hassan II Mosque is a truly breath-taking sight. Take a tour of the largest mosque in Africa (with enough capacity for 105,000 worshippers) and admire the intricacy of the interior it took 6,000 craftsmen to create.

Stretching for several kilometres, La Corniche is the perfect place for a walk at sunrise or a gentle stroll after dinner. Here you’ll find a lighthouse at the end of the jetty, sweeping views of the seascape and numerous restaurants and entertainment.

A simple stroll will take you on a journey back in time, past breath-taking architecture, medieval history, bustling markets and to an endless array of authentic eateries. With so many hidden gems amongst iconic landmarks, places like Casa Antiguo are the best bet for a true taste of Palma culture.

Found in the heart of Palma, La Seu is a stunning Catalan Gothic style cathedral, with renowned architect Antoni Gaudí contributing to its intricate design. Featuring 61 stained-glass windows, the building flooding with coloured light inside is simply a must.

After diverting its flood-prone river to the outskirts of the city and converting the remaining riverbed into a flourishing park, Valencia has quickly become a tourist hotspot in Spain. Whether you’re here to immerse yourself in the culture or for the sun, sand and sea, you’ll love Valencia.

The perfect place to take a romantic evening walk or find fantastic hidden gems, Valencia’s Old Town is made up of numerous cultural influences and historic architecture. Here, you’ll find the Central Market, many tapas bars and a number of tourist hotspots.

Dedicated to the science and culture of the world, The City of the Arts and Sciences is home to five main attractions: the Hemisfèric, the Umbracle, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, the Oceanográfico and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.

Rising above the rooftops of the city’s old town is Valencia’s bell tower. Its striking exterior design has become a famous symbol, while the interior can be explored via 207 steps to the top, where you’ll find a gorgeous bird’s eye view of the landscape.

The oldest active church in Alicante, the Basilica of Santa Maria is in a Valencian Gothic style and a must for any architecture enthusiast. The main entrance is an impressive Baroque sculpture, while the interior includes a golden 18th-century Rococo style main altar.
