Delta One Lounge at New York-JFK ushers in a new era of premium travel for airline

Delta is ready to welcome guests to its newest and most exclusive destination: The Delta One Lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Located between Concourses A and B in Terminal 4, adjacent to the main security checkpoint, the sweeping 39,000-plus-square-foot Delta One Lounge – the first of its kind, and larger than any Delta Sky Club – offers a variety of experiences and amenities for the premium traveler, from fine dining to spa-like wellness treatments to valet services and more. Delta One ticketholders can curate their own one-of-a-kind Lounge experience, based on what their travel day is calling for.

It’s a new standard of elevated service – one that complements Delta’s most premium onboard offering and is brought to life by the signature hospitality for which Delta is known.

As New York City’s hottest new destination, the Lounge features nods to other noted locations throughout the Big Apple, with thoughtfully curated surprises for New Yorkers and design enthusiasts alike.

An end-to-end premium journey

The Delta One Lounge cements Delta’s commitment to delivering an end-to-end premium experience, from curb to claim.

The journey starts at check-in: Located on the right-hand side of the main arrivals level on Terminal 4, Delta One customers will be greeted by a team of Elite Service agents providing white-glove service, with warm towels and light refreshments on offer. This fall, the check-in area will feature a private TSA screening lane for added exclusivity.

While the JFK Delta One Lounge is the first of its kind, others will be joining soon: Delta One Lounges at LAX and Boston Logan International will open later this year, expanding the end-to-end premium experience to more customers in more hubs.

From JFK to the rest of the world

Though the Delta One Lounge is a destination unto itself, JFK customers are well-positioned to journey across the globe with Delta.

The nearly 14,000-square-foot Club, which will operate alongside the Club on Terminal 4, Concourse B, seats more than 250 guests and includes sweeping views of the airfield.

Delta offers the most flights and seats of any carrier at JFK, with more than 200 total peak-day departures to more than 90 domestic and international destinations. Customers can fly nonstop from JFK to all of New York’s 50 most popular domestic markets.

This summer, Delta is flying its largest trans-Atlantic schedule ever from JFK, with more than 240 weekly departures to 26 destinations—including new destinations like Naples and destinations not flown since before the pandemic, like Shannon, Ireland.

And Delta will add even more service this winter: the combined partnership of Delta and LATAM will offer more service than any other carrier or joint venture between New York and South America. Also, with daily service to Lagos, Nigeria (LOS) relaunching Dec. 1, Delta will reinforce its No. 1 position as the largest U.S. carrier to Africa.

A great little Japanese restaurant tucked away in strip mall off SR70. The menu takes you on a fantastic journey to Japan. Appetizers like tempura, yakitori, dumplings, salads, and edamame are offered. We tried the seafood egg rolls and they were fantastic- crisp bundles of savory goodness. Several styles of classic Japanese cooking are here. Japanese curries, hibachi, teriyaki, tempura, katsu, yaki soba, and fried rice. Our party tried the curry, hibachi, and teriyaki. All were perfectly cooked, delicious and huge portions. My teriyaki filet was tender and juicy. Hibachi scallops were perfect. The service was friendly and attentive on a very busy night. This week, health data platform Arcadia made an acquisition that CEO Michael Meucci thinks will give the Boston-based company the data it needs to offer a more comprehensive suite of value-based care technology for its customers.

It bought Arlington, Virginia-based CareJourney , a health analytics firm designed to facilitate participation in value-based care contracts.

The acquisition comes six months after Arcadia sold its value-based care service division to Guidehealth . Through the two deals, Arcadia is sharpening its focus on providing the right data and technology to enable value-based care, instead of operating in both the technology and services sides of value-based care enablement, Meucci declared.

The new merger combines Arcadia’s data platform, analytics and workflow tools with CareJourney’s trove of data on cost, quality and benchmarks. CareJourney’s dataset is derived from claims data across Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and commercial plans, representing more than 300 million beneficiaries and over 2 million providers nationwide.

“To oversimplify, [Arcadia] has a great data platform and a lot of good data engineers. When customers buy Arcadia, they’re buying us to take their data and put it into our platform. CareJourney has a bunch of really good data scientists — they don’t do much with customer-specific data, but they have access to CMS’ innovation data space, where they create really interesting insights, about things like individual geographies and markets or individual provider performance,” Meucci explained.

By blending these two companies, Arcadia will be able to offer a better suite of products around “the unified vision of using data to transform the way we deliver care,” he added.

He also said that the merger will help Arcadia differentiate itself from competitors like Datavant, Innovaccer and Health Catalyst.

“Analytics is typically where [Arcadia] is the strongest. Our analytics models are some of the best in the market, and CareJourney further enhances that. So we’re looking to build them more and more to strengthen that differentiation for customers,” Meucci remarked.

As a result of the acquisition, Arcadia now owns all of CareJourney’s products and customers, and the products have been renamed “CareJourney by Arcadia,” he explained. In the future, he said it is likely the two entities will combine their products, integrating together under one brand.

Currently, the two entities share about a dozen overlapping customers, including Providence and Rush University System for Health, Meucci added.

The deal also resulted in some leadership changes, with the most notable being that Aneesh Chopra — president and co-founder of CareJourney, who also served federal government’s first-ever chief technology officer — is now Arcadia’s chief strategy officer.

ORLANDO — Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs and coach Jamahl Mosley are set to have a busy summer.

Suggs was named to the USA Basketball Men's Select Team and Mosley will be the head coach for the second straight season. The Select Team will train with the National Team from July 6-8 in Las Vegas ahead of the Summer Olympics in Paris this year.

Suggs is part of a roster that has 12 NBA or G-League players, two players with experience in the NBA, G-League, USA Basketball or international experience, and one incoming collegiate freshman. That roster includes players like Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller, Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr., Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard and projected 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.

Suggs has experience with USA Basketball, which dates back to winning a gold medal in the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup, 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup and 2017 FIBA U16 Americas Championship.

For Suggs, this continues what was a breakout year for the 6-foot-5 guard. He played in 75 games, the most of his three-year career, and set career highs in points per game and 3-point percentage. The 2021 No. 5 overall pick was also an anchor on one of the NBA's best defenses, as he earned NBA All-Defensive Second-Team honors.

Mosley being named the Select Team's head coach comes on the heels of leading one of the best turnarounds in the NBA last season. Orlando improved by 13 wins, earned its first playoff berth since 2020 and was one win away from advancing to the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Las Vegas and working with the USA Select Team once again,” Mosley said via press release. “Over my three years with USA Basketball, I’ve gained a tremendous amount of knowledge on international basketball while having the opportunity to work alongside some of the best players and coaches in our game.”
