Filmed in Hawaii, this drama series is about the United States Army soldiers on combat duty in 1967's Vietnam.

A host of new faces--and new dangers--await Lt. Zeke Anderson and the men of Bravo Company in the second season of the gritty Vietnam War drama Tour of Duty . Joining the cast for the sophomore season are Kim Delaney as war correspondent Alex Devlin, and Dan Gauthier as chopper pilot Lt. Johnny McKay, who would transport B Company to the jungle from their new base at Tan Son Nhut. But the changes between the first and second seasons went beyond cast and setting--the series took a much closer look at the emotional toll of the war on its soldiers, with episodes devoted to Ruiz (Ramon Franco) suffering a breakdown, grunts contemplating (and committing) suicide, and Bravo’s men dealing with incompetent and even dangerous fellow soldiers (Michael Madsen stars as a sniper with a taste for violence in "Sleeping Dogs"). Of course, the action and tension that caught audiences’ attention in Tour ’s debut season is still in effect, abetted by a touch of romance (Miguel Nunez’s Taylor pairs with guest star Angela Bassett, as do Gauthier and Delaney), and the excellent scripting and performances by Terence Knox (who would win the Viewers for Quality Television’s top acting award for this season) as Anderson and the rest of the cast. The four-disc set compiles all 16 episodes from the second season; unfortunately, no extras are included, and much of the incidental music featured in the original broadcasts has been replaced due to copyright issues. However, neither should deter series fans from revisiting this exceptional series. --Paul Gaita

Fire Country season 2 episode 7, "A Hail Mary," will drop us into the immediate aftermath of "Alert the Sheriff." It's going to be a rough one for the Three Rock crew. Airing Friday, Apr. 26 at p.m. ET on CBS , the episode centers on the backlash the inmate firefighter camp has been dealing with since Rudy Varda made his escape. Though he didn't murder the sheriff ( it was the lieutenant! ), the citizens of Edgewater still don't feel safe with a prison facility in the area that previously hadn't been surrounded by a wire fence or outfitted with 'round the clock armed guards.

There are now protestors pushing for Three Rock to be closed and chanting, "Cons don't belong," which is disheartening to see since these inmate firefighters risk their lives day in and day out for the people of Edgewater and the program is a redemptive one that helps them see themselves differently. Not to mention, as Bode notes in the promo, fires are what help the inmates get out sooner. It's the quickest way to make good time and shave years off their sentences. Closing the camp would mean going back behind bars with increased supervision, a decreased ability to see their families in a more inviting environment, and little way to give back to the community.

For Bode, whose sole focus has been getting out so that he can take care of Cara's daughter, Genevieve, the camp closing would be a gut wrenching setback. Though he isn't her biological father , he's begun to see the preteen as his, and he wants to do right by her like Cara asked before she died. The situation at Three Rock, however, is untenable and it looks like something is going to have to give.

Let's dive into more about "A Hail Mary" with some spoilers in the mix. If you don't want to be spoiled for anything stop reading at this point.

Fire Country season 2 spoilers

From the look of the promo stills for episode 7, it's going to be the Three Rock crew putting up the wire around the facility. This might be in effort to show Edgewater that their concerns are being heard and that they can be addressed without closing the camp. But it doesn't seem to be enough. Manny told Eve in "Alert the Sheriff" that they needed to change the narrative. People being able to see the hand unit at work, in their uniforms, are the kind of optics he was referring to but there are two people that are going to make that spin difficult.

Guest stars

Lochlyn Munroe , best known as Hal Cooper to Riverdale fans, plays a protester named Gerry in "A Hail Mary." They're all pretty vocal about their desire to see Three Rock closed. One only needs to see their signs, their "Keep Edgewater safe!" t-shirts, and hear their chants to know that. But Gerry will be clashing with Manny, specifically, as he seeks to make his point. Despite this confrontation, it's going to be the former Captain of Three Rock who saves Gerry's life when an out of control truck nearly plows into him as they're arguing.

In the promo, Eve is trying to ward off a camera coming in hot when something must start getting out of hand at Three Rock. This gives the impression she's going to be the one dealing closely with Luisa d'Oliveira 's character Rita Rajdev, a reporter who's covering the developments at the camp. Like with Lochlyn Munroe, she's best known for starring on a hit CW show, d'Oliveira played Emori on The 100 .

Presumably, given what Manny told Eve, and the fact that she's in her dress blues and he's in a nice black suit, the two might have gotten Rita to come in to do a story making their case on why Three Rock is a pivotal institution not just for Cal Fire but also the town of Edgewater. Obviously, with the protest, and because she's likely a journalist that's going to document the truth whether it's good for the camp or not, things are going to go awry.

The case of the week possible deals with the incident that occurs after the truck hits the pole. The question is how it's going to reflect on Three Rock. They know how to do their jobs but there may be civilian lives at risk which means putting aside their feelings on how they're being treated in order to make sure no one gets seriously injured. Obviously, someone does since the above promo still shows Bode and Jake carrying a man on a spine board. But who is he and how did he get injured? That's something I'm intrigued by.

What happens in episode 8?

Without giving too much away about "It's Not Over," I can share that "A Hail Mary" isn't the end of the 'Save Three Rock' storyline. In episode 8, the camp's fate is very much still hanging in the balance which is why Edgewater’s 22nd Annual Firefighters’ Ball is so important. The members of Station 42 will be getting all dolled up for the event and the inmate firefighters will be in attendance. Hopefully, they'll be able to win the governor to their side.

We'll also have to gear up for some family drama because Gabriela's mother, Roberta (Paola Nunez), is set to make a surprise appearance. She'll be meeting not only Diego but Bode as well which has me thinking she'll be making her opinions known about both men. With an episode that seems primed to be all about the emotional plots at play in season 2, we're definitely in for a good one before the penultimate episode and the "heart-wrenching" finale .
