Southfield A’s — An Elite Travel Baseball Program in Southeastern Michigan

Southfield A’s is associated with the North Oakland Farmington Baseball Organization and has teams at the 10U and 12U levels and — NEW for summer 2022: 6U T- Ball! T-ball season details will be determined based on the level of interest.  Contact Head Coach Marlin Gilliam for more information on all age levels.

Our 10U travel team plays 35-50 games over the summer and about 20 games during the fall. This team plays in the AA division. Under an experienced coaching staff, players at the 10U level focus on mastering the fundamentals of baseball – knowing where each and every player should be on every play is a season-long focus.

Our 12U travel team plays between 35-50 games throughout eastern Michigan each summer and about 20 games during the fall in the AAA division. Players at this level are getting ready to start their high school baseball careers and working to deepen their understanding of baseball philosophy in greater detail.

Commerce Area Baseball offers 3 options for all skill levels within one organization and a strong belief that every player, at every skill level should have the chance to play this great game.

Our players reside in Commerce, Walled Lake, Wixom, West Bloomfield, Wolverine Lake, White Lake, Novi, and Milford, Michigan. Whether your player is interested in learning the fundamentals or playing in the highest level of competitive tournaments, Commerce Little League has a team to fit their needs. 

We have dedicated baseball fields at Maple Glen Park in Commerce Township with 8 home fields and serve over 1,200 players and 850 families in the community. Many families cite our long standing baseball community as a reason to move to the Commerce area!  

We are a 501C3 non-profit organization that relies on volunteers to maintain our field operations, lead our umpire staff, manage concessions, and most importantly coaching kids. Our volunteers are committed to providing every player a great baseball learning experience for all skill levels.

A highly competitive youth travel baseball program.   Play is offered in age divisions from 8U to 16U competing in the Kensington Valley Baseball and Softball Association (KVBSA)

A developmental and competitive

 12 week 14 game session for all skill levels offering T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and baseball divisions for players  ages 5 yrs. to 15 yrs. Players are eligible to participate in the Little League World Series Tournament.

A. Our Philosophy is simple –Develop players at all skill levels who want to play baseball and do this in a Little League setting. A.  We are a 501c3 volunteer organization.  None of our coaches or volunteers are paid.  All player fees and sponsor dollars are put into improving our facilities and our programs.  Many travel programs use player fees and sponsor money to pay their coaches.

14U 2023 Hornets Baseball Tryouts Southeast Michigan

Calling all areas for the Hornets 14U Tournament Team Tryouts for the 2023 season. The following cities but not limtied to can try out. Register now at https://form.jotform.com/211654888856170 As a 3rd year team, we have been successful in disrupting some of the branded organization names. We are competing well with some of the well-known names in today's travel baseball at the tournament level. At this time, we have made (2) semi-finals in USSSA AA, (1) final in USSSA AA, and another final in American Legion. We are a competitive, good hitting team. With the right additions, we should be close to where we need to be as a team. We are looking for serious, committed players that want to play about 10 tournaments and a variety of scrimmages.

We need more pitching and some extra pop at the plate. All positions welcome to tryout. The core of our team will be going into 8th grade. We are looking for a handful of 8th grade pickups so we can start playing ball in April. Total Baseball Travel is looking to bring teams or organizations under our umbrella to give athletes the best travel experience for all age groups.

As part of our organization, we will provide you with:

• Total Baseball Travel will handle all accounting and administration work, registrations for leagues/tournaments, team budgets, player fee collections, and tracking budgets.
• Teams can expect to have their training at some of the finest indoor and outdoor training facilities in the metro Detroit area. Our teams get turf and tunnel time in the winter and outdoor turf time in the spring/summer.
• We take care of all uniform/spirit wear in-house through our Total Sports Shop .
• Members of this program will get discounts at Total Sports Shop for equipment orders, and on camps, classes, and leagues run by Total Baseball.
• Players have access to the facility if tunnels/fields are available.
• Members of the coaching staff will have coaching clinics put on by the Total Baseball staff.

• “A Haunting in Venice” (PG-13): Supernatural thriller based upon the novel “Hallowe’en Party” by Agatha Christie’ and directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh as retired detective Hercule Poirot. • “Pain Hustlers” (R): Liza Drake (Emily Blunt), a blue-collar single mom who has just lost her job, has a chance meeting with pharmaceutical sales rep Pete Brenner (Chris Evans). • “Mission Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part One” (PG-13): Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team must track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. Also starring Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales and Pom Klementieff.

• “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” (PG): New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated film. • “The Flash” (PG-13): Warner Bros. superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Why The Braves Will Cover The Spread/Win

Lopez has been lights out to begin this season. He is back to being a full-time starter, and it seems to be paying off. Lopez has made two starts, thrown 12 innings, allowed seven hits, one run, and struck out 11. He has been very good this season, and that has to continue in this game. He is great at missing barrels, and the Braves need him to induce a lot of weak contact in this game. If he can keep it up, the Braves will win this game.

The Astros have a rookie on the mound in this game. In his first start, Arrighetti allowed seven runs on seven hits in just three innings of work against the Kansas City Royals. The ball did not leave the yard, but the Royals were hitting the ball around with ease. Now, that could easily be chalked up to first game jitters, and it really should. However, the Braves lineup is very, very good, and they have the ability to do more damage than the Royals.

Why The Astros Will Cover The Spread/Win

Houston is not having the year they have expected to begin the season. The Astros need to turn it around, but it is going to start with their pitching. As a team, the Astros are doing a good job getting hitters off the barrel, but they simply do not throw enough strikes. Houston is a pitch-to-contact team this season, but they are not getting enough hitters to chase in order to do that. They need Arrighetti to be in and around the zone in this game. If he can do that, the Astros will win this game.

Arrighetti had a tough first start, but do not expect a repeat performance. He was very good in the minors, struck out well over nine batters per nine innings, and opposing hitters had a very low average against him. Yes, the MiLB is much different, but Arrighetti’s stuff will play at the big league level. With one start under his belt, I am expecting a much better second one.

This is going to be a good game. Both teams are very good, and the Astros will turn it around at any moment now. Houston is not going to stay this bad for long, that is a fact. Looking at the pitching matchup, I have to go with the pitcher with experience. Because of that, I will take the Braves to win this game on the road to open up their three-game series.
