5 of the Best Napa Valley Wine Tours from San Francisco

Take a bus, take a limo, take a trip in style to some of the best wineries in California on one of these five great Napa Valley and Sonoma wine country tours from San Francisco.

The film ‘Sideways’ may have propelled pinot noir wines to film-fan stardom, but the wine regions of Napa Valley and Sonoma have so much more to offer. Learn to distinguish your Riesling from your Chardonnay; your Syrah from your Cabernet Sauvignon at a wine tasting on a cheap tour. Or, if you’re already well aware of those delineations, simply explore the USA’s premier wine region and discover new local wines right at their source. Here are five of the best wine tours, all from San Francisco, to try today.

Half-Day Wine Country Excursion from San Francisco

Among the best value Napa Valley and Sonoma tours is this five-hour trip from San Francisco, taking time to stop at two wineries where you’ll be able to enjoy up to five wine tastings. The itinerary also includes time to take a wine estate tour, where you’ll learn the inner workings of the production process and see the vine-clad slopes where future bottles get their start. This tour departs on most days of the year. From $99 per person.

Small-Group Sonoma Wine Tour with Tastings

Sonoma’s wineries are not quite as globally recognized as those of neighboring Napa Valley, but that essentially means the area is less touristy. This tour visits three boutique wineries in the region, offering a wine tasting at each. Groups are limited to 13 people and there is live commentary on board the air-conditioned van as you travel through the city and countryside, with an additional photo stop at Golden Gate Bridge. Lunch is not included in this tour, although time is allowed for lunch at Sonoma Plaza. From $149 per person.

Napa and Sonoma Wine Valley Tour

For a tour that incorporates Napa Valley, as well as Sonoma, while still fitting three winery visits and tastings into the itinerary, there’s this eight-hour trip from San Francisco. There’s plenty to see during the journey, too, such as the Golden Gate Bridge. Learn about the region’s wine history, including how grapes were first brought here by Spanish missionaries, along the way. Lunch is not included but a stop will be made with time allotted at either Sonoma Plaza or The Marketplace in Napa. From $149 per person.

Muir Woods Redwood and Wine Country Tour

While there’s a great deal of rural beauty to be encountered in and around Napa Valley, the agrarian imprint of viticulture dominates the vistas with its neatly ordered lines of grapevines. The lines at Muir Woods National Monument, which you’ll visit on the way to wine country as part of this tour, are vertical and centuries old, belonging to the majestic redwood trees that the monument protects. Additionally, three Sonoma and Napa wineries are visited during the ten-hour trip. Please note that the Muir Wood entry fee is not included in the price. From $159 per person.

Small-Group Napa Valley Tour for Wine Lovers

For the very best of Napa Valley’s whimsy and history, there’s one tour which focuses exclusively on this celebrated Californian wine region. Among the three wineries you’ll visit is the Tuscan, medieval-style castle of Castello di Amorosa. Another stop is at Tamber Bey Winery, where you’ll try Merlot and Chardonnay wines. The estate also includes an equestrian ranch. Finally, there’s Carneros, where the vineyard has been producing wines for over a century. This tour runs from Sat to Thu each week. From $259 per person.

The Napa Valley Wine Train will transport you to Raymond Vineyards, where you’ll have a 1 ½ hour tour of the property and a tasting of a variety of their certified organic wines.

During the tour you will learn about the vineyard’s history, the family’s dedication to sustainable winemaking, and visit the facilities, including the machinery that crush and ferment the grapes, and the bottling and storage of the final product.

Meander along the vineyards; and spend time with a sommelier who can answer all your burning questions about everything wine.

After your vineyard tour, you’ll be taken back to board the train where you’ll enjoy a complimentary glass of wine before indulging in your 3-course gourmet meal. The trip back to Napa will take you through the quaint towns of St. Helena, Oakville, Rutherford and Yountville.

Grgich Hills

As you head north by train to Grgich Hills Estate, your 3-course meal will be served in the Petit Gourmet Car.

At Grgich Hills you’ll enjoy a 1-hour private tour, where biodynamic grapes are grown in sprawling vineyards. Savor a variety of tastings of their 100% certified organic wines. Enjoy a leisurely stroll among the vineyards of this 366-acre estate with an experienced guide. Learn about the winemaking process and take a peek at the estate’s wine cellar.

On your way back to downtown Napa, you’ll enjoy one final treat, coffee and dessert in the train’s lounge car.

Fun Fact: Grgich Hills is an award-winning, family-owned winery, whose tasting room was transformed into a movie set by well-known screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen for the movie “Judgment in Paris”.

The Ambassador

This itinerary starts with an educational wine seminar, after which you’ll hop aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train. En route to the charming town of St. Helena, you’ll enjoy a gourmet 3-course meal in the Petit Gourmet Car, followed by coffee and dessert.

After arriving in St. Helena, you’ll board a luxury coach headed for Charles Krug Winery. Charles Krug boasts the title of oldest winery in Napa Valley. While there, you will taste their most-limited wines, learn about the winery’s namesake and the Mondavi family history.

After departing from Charles Krug, the coach will take you to Raymond Vineyards about an hour away.  Raymond Vineyards’ wines are 100% certified organic and produced exclusively with solar-sourced energy. While there, a guide will engage your mind and senses in a series of tastings and 1-hour educational tour.

I am a corporate event planner who had to book two private shuttles for my group for multiple stops and pick-ups. Green Dream Tours was amazing from start to finish. They were reliable, professional and timely! They were also priced well and reasonably without compromising their service. Their drivers were awesome and their buses beautiful. BOOK THEM, you can't go wrong!!

What an amazing day we had with Green Dream Tours! Everything from the logistics of coordinating the tastings and lunch and transportation, to staying on budget, was taken care of for over 50 people. The transportation was super comfortable, the driver was safe and courteous, and our guide Nicole rocked! It is nice when an organization is so professional to work with and accommodating. Already planning another event for next year!

Erin and Heather were wonderfully communicative and super accommodating to our unique team request. We wanted a partner to plan and lead our group on a full-day tour of the wine country, visit/taste wines, organize lunch, and all transportation and logistics. They did all this and more. Alberto, our guide, was knowledgeable, fun and flexible. I would definitely recommend Green Dream Tours and use them again!

The 8 Best Napa Wine Tours

purple grains hanging on a vine in Napa Valley

Napa Valley is easily one of the most famous wine-producing regions in the world, and last year nearly four million people headed there — it is big business for Northern California!

Of course, if you plan on spending some time in Napa Valley and nearby Sonoma, you’ll most likely want to explore some of the 600 wineries in the area. A great way to do this — both to get some local, insider knowledge and so that there’s no need to drink and drive — is to take a Napa wine tour.

There are nearly as many wine tour options as there are vineyards. I’ve listed some of my favorites here, and you can decide which fits your style and, more importantly, your budget. Just remember that you’ll usually also have to pay tasting fees on top of the tour costs — these vary between $20 and $40 — though many will waive that fee if you buy some wine. Also don’t forget, especially if you’re coming from outside the United States, that you’ll need to be 21 or over to join these tours, though some allow children to tag along.

1. Napa Valley Wine Trolley

If you’re after something a bit different, then the Napa Valley Wine Trolley is a good way to go. Instead of a regular tour bus, you’ll ride on a replica of a cable car. It’s an open-air car, of course, so make sure you pick the right weather to try this.

Tours leave from the Oxbow Market in Napa; a $99 tour includes four wineries and a casual picnic-style lunch, plus unlimited bottled water and soft drinks between tastings. You can upgrade to the full-day Castle tour ($139), which includes a two-hour stop and tasting at Castello di Amorosa.

2. Napa Valley Bike Tours

Of course, being a valley full of vineyards, Napa is a really scenic place, so exploring it by bicycle is a great option. Napa Valley Bike Tours offers either guided or self-guided rides, leaving from their store in Yountville. The popular half-day guided tour is $124 per person, with two winery visits and a great guide who’ll give you the full story of the area.

The handy part about the self-guided tours is that besides being able to visit the wineries you choose at your own pace, you still get a box lunch, and any wine you buy will be picked up for you (riding with wine in your backpack gets old really fast). Self-guided tours cost $114 per person and also include comfy bikes, helmets, and all the planning info you need.

3. Calistoga Bikeshop

Another bicycle option is Calistoga Bikeshop , a popular rental shop that also runs guided day tours for $150, including a hybrid bike, a picnic lunch, and pick-up for any wine you buy. The guides plan a unique route depending on what the group members want, starting from their shop in Calistoga.

If you have an extra day in the area and don’t need more wine, Calistoga also offers great mountain biking trips to the Palisades or along the Oat Hill Mine Trail.

4. Platypus Wine Tours

Platypus brands itself as the “anti-wine-snob wine tour,” so if you want to have a fun day learning more about wine, then this is a good choice. (The name is memorable, but you won’t actually see a platypus anywhere in Napa Valley, in case you’re wondering.)

Platypus runs small-group trips, taking in four wineries for $110 (including a picnic lunch), focusing on small and medium-sized, usually family-owned wineries. You can choose from tours centered on Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, or North Sonoma.

5. Active Wine Adventures

As the name suggests, Active Wine Adventures offers tours that include more than just wine tasting, so it’s a great way to explore Napa Valley. For example, the Hike & Wine tours start with a two-hour hike in some of the valley’s beautiful landscapes and move on to a lunch and winery tasting experience. These cost $139 plus lunch because you can choose from a high-end restaurant lunch or a vineyard picnic. They offer similar tours in the Sonoma area, too.

6. Green Dream Tours

Try some wine and help the world. Green Dream has a focus on sustainability: besides using green business practices, it also buys carbon offsets to balance its use of fuel. Their Napa Valley tours ($144, $154 on weekends) are among the few where the tasting fees at three boutique wineries are included.

Green Dream also offers a combo tour, taking in three wineries across Sonoma and Napa Valley, with lunch at the Oxbow Public Market ($139 weekdays, $149 weekends). For visitors to San Francisco, there’s a combo with a tour of Alcatraz plus two Sonoma boutique wineries, for $179.

7. Small Lot Wine Tours

If you’re coming by car to the Napa Valley region, then Small Lot can be a really budget-friendly way to enjoy a wine tour. They provide a tour guide who’ll drive your car for you for the day, and design a tour route just right for you, depending on the kind of wine you want to taste, what you want to do for lunch, and whether you’re planning on buying wine. At $50 per hour (with a four-hour minimum), if you’ve got a car full of friends, this can work out to be one of the cheapest ways to explore Napa but still have local expert advice.

8. Napa Valley Wine Country Tours

Napa Valley Wine Country Tours offer full-day trips from San Francisco, including a Golden Gate Bridge photo opportunity, to four wineries in the Napa and Sonoma regions. Tours include a picnic lunch and are usually $119 per person (sometimes there are $99 specials on the website).

For something a bit different, they also run wine tours around the Napa Valley in an open-top convertible limousine, including a castle visit, for $150.

There are so many options for touring the Napa Valley and experiencing all the wine culture the area has to offer, depending on your tastes and preferences. These suggestions should ensure that you have a great day out exploring one of the world’s most famous wine regions.

Book Your Trip to Napa Valley: Logistical Tips and Tricks

Book Your Flight Use Skyscanner or Momondo to find a cheap flight. They are my two favorite search engines because they search websites and airlines around the globe so you always know no stone is left unturned. Start with Skyscanner first though because they have the biggest reach!

Book Your Accommodation You can book your hostel with Hostelworld as they have the biggest inventory and best deals. If you want to stay somewhere other than a hostel, use Booking.com as they consistently return the cheapest rates for guesthouses and cheap hotels. My favorite places to stay are:

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance Travel insurance will protect you against illness, injury, theft, and cancellations. It’s comprehensive protection in case anything goes wrong. I never go on a trip without it as I’ve had to use it many times in the past. My favorite companies that offer the best service and value are:

  • Safety Wing (for everyone below 70)

An insider’s take by Napa Valley tour guides

people taking selfie in front of napa valley sign

There is no topping Napa Valley winery tours and wine tasting. Even though tasting rooms re-opened with fits and starts during the pandemic, the region’s passionate winemakers never took their focus off creating some of the world’s most exquisite wines.

Today, most of the over 500 wineries in Napa Valley welcome guests for winery tours, education and wine tasting. If you have just one day to tour the wine country from San Francisco, where are the best places to go in Napa Valley?

This post will leave the question of “best wine” to others. Instead, it focuses on the best “winery tours” in Napa Valley. Some Napa wineries feature over-the-top luxury, others beautifully cuofted gardens, and some intimate experiences with the winemaker at a family-owned winery.

What we will cover in this guide to the best winery tours in Napa:

Best View: Sterling Winery

woman looking on sterling winery view

Perched 300 feet above the town of Calistoga, Sterling Vineyards offers panoramic views of Napa Valley. An aerial tram carries visitors up the hill to the white stucco winery that stands out dramatically against the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges that flank Napa Valley.

While tasting Sterling’s award-winning wines, guests may roam beautiful outdoor terraces and elegant tasting rooms inspired by the sun-bleached island of Mykonos. Well-marked walkways and motion-sensitive DVD screens allow guests to take their time during a self-guided tour of Sterling Vineyards’ winemaking facilities.

While known for its Cabernet Sauvignon, Sterling cultivates ten vastly different terroirs producing wines of great distinction.

Best Tasting Room: Artesa

snacks and bottle of wine from artesa winery

The Spanish-inspired tasting salon and adjoining patio space at Artesa Winery overlooks the rolling hills

The Spanish-inspired tasting salon and adjoining patio space at Artesa Winery overlooks the rolling hills of Carneros and is easily one of the most beautiful places to enjoy a flight of wine. Designed by a renowned Spanish architect, the winery was built to blend seamlessly into a high hill of native grasses at the south of the estate.

Artesa’s tasting salon, awarded the 2018 Design Award from the American Institute of Architects , draws inspiration from the art, culture and nature of Barcelona. This Napa winery features sweeping views through floor to ceiling windows and courtyard reminiscent of the Mediterranean waterfront.

At the heart of the bright-white space is a dramatic circular bar covered with hand-made, imported tiles. Leather lounge chairs and tall white ‘tapas’ tables complete the atmosphere of relaxed luxury.

Both the Tasting Salon and Terrace feature Barcelona-inspired food and wine pairing experiences by appointment. Artesa Winery specializes in Pinots and Chardonnay along with a vintage estate sparkling and cabernet, tempranillo, and albariño.

Best Garden: Chateau Montelena

Japanese tea garden in golden gate park

The setting at Chateau Montelena winery is one of the most remarkable in the Napa Valley. It features an Instagram-worthy stone castle carved into a hillside above a garden, lake and vineyard that stretches to the base of Mount Saint Helena.

While they appear to be groomed, the gardens are mostly wild, growing where and how nature intended.  If you take the time to walk the path around the lake, you will be surrounded by plants native to the area, including redwoods, oak, madrone, and toyon.

The Calistoga AVA offers the perfect climate for fruit, so besides impressive vineyards, you will see mature orchards of mandarins, key limes, blood oranges, Buddha’s hand, Yuzu, and finger limes on the paths leading to the tasting room.

Jade Lake provides the perfect backdrop for this sanctuary which hosts many species of wildlife such as the mute swans and ducks along with the occasional visits of otters and beavers.

As pleasing as the gardens may be, they are not the highlight of this remarkable winey.  Chateau Montelena is the Napa Valley winery that famously won the white wine section of the historic “Judgment of Paris” wine competition in 1976.

The winery still features its remarkable chardonnays, but the vineyard’s diversified soil produces aromatic, rich and full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignons and Zinfandels.

Best Art and Adventure: Hess Persson Estates

bottle of wine standing on the table

The combination of ATV vineyard tours and impressive contemporary art collection may seem miss-matched, but all that and more is on offer at Hess Persson Estates.

Hess Persson offers a range of tour and tasting experiences at their 1,000+ acre vineyard perched on the slopes of Mount Veeder in Napa. Their ATV tours allow you to enjoy stunning views across the valley and feel one with the vines (without the effort). Conclude the excursion with a wine and cheese or food pairing.

If your interests lie in the Hess art collection, enjoy a self-guided tour free of charge (with reservation), or consider a combination tour complete with private tasting experience. Their walk-through tour with Director of Art Robert Ceballos enhances the art with stories of each artist and their relationships with curator Donald Hess.

Small Group Napa Valley Reserve Wine Tour

This small group Napa Valley wine tour from San Francisco features seated tastings at 3 of Napa’s best-loved wineries, including the 13th century-style castle at Castello di Amorosa.

Best Tasting Porch: Ru Vango Winery

three girl posing in front od vineyards

This quintessential Carneros AVA property, once cultivated by the Michael Mondavi Family Estate, is surrounded by rolling hills of planted vineyards. In the evening, fog and breezes off nearby San Pablo Bay provide natural cooling.

What makes a visit delightful is Ru Vango’ s perfectly situated wrap-around porch that looks out over sun-soaked vineyards located in the southernmost grape-growing region in Napa Valley.

The winery is particularly known for its wines made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes grown at 2000 feet above sea level and in the direct pathway of cool breezes that create the ideal growing conditions for wines with complex character.

Best Family-Owned Winery: Hans Fahden Vineyard

grapes

Hans Fahden Vineyards is a family-owned winery, resting 1,000 feet above Napa’s valley floor in the heart of the Mayacama Mountains. A family-owned and operated for three generations, the Fahden Family has a limited production of 1,500 cases per year.

Three vineyard areas are separated by volcanic outcroppings and forests of Douglas Fir. The soil is pure volcanic tufa beneath a thin layer of topsoil that forces it Cabernet Sauvignon vines’ roots to compete for a scarce water supply.

The estate’s perfect location just 30 miles from cooling blankets of fog on the Pacific Coast gives the grapes time to rest at night, producing character and complexity for master winemaker, David Sunberg.

French-style gardens surround the tasting room and add a dash of color to the estage.  No matter the season, roses, irises, petunias, pansies, cornflowers, poppies, ornamental grasses or native shrubs are in bloom.

A generation ago, an amazing wine cave was tunneled into a formation of volcanic ash rock. Inside, the cave’s walls are lined with wine barrels; grape-leaf adorned fixtures; and the twinkle of tiny lights.

Best Lunch Spot: V. Sattui Winery

people tasting wine

V. Sattui Winery is a long-time favorite stop for lunch because of its old-world Italian charm, vast picnic grounds, personalized winery, barrel tastings, food pairings, legendary fresh food deli, and friendly staff.

Michelin-Star chef, Stefano Masanti ensures exceptional cuisine matches the glamorous and relaxing space. Culinary Director, Joe Schneider, combines award-winning wines with weekly tasting events. For any Napa tour from San Francisco, V. Sattui is a great spot to relax with a bottle of wine, while enjoying a family lunch on the picnic grounds.

V. Sattui features more than 60 different wines including sparkling and Port-styles and has recently added a Concierge Service designed to tailor group visits to guest preferences.

Best Vineyard Walk: Cuvaison

Cuvaison vineyards

For those wanting to stretch your legs and get up close and personal to the vines, consider visiting Cuvaison Winery. For over 50 years, this Los Carneros region winery has been introducing the world to exceptional cool-climate Napa Valley Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.

Currently offered on Monday mornings, their 2-hour hike and tasting experience immerses visitors in the 200-acre property. The guided hike concludes on the patio, with an estate tasting and boxed lunch from Carneros Resort and Spa.

Those not interested in hiking can still enjoy an elegant tasting in Cuvaison’s Tasting Salon. Tastings are available daily, by appointment only.

Best Medieval Castle: Castello di Amorosa

castello di amorosa

Castello di Amorosa knows how to make a first impression. The authentically styled, 13 th -century Tuscan castle winery was constructed using more than 200 containers of European materials and furnishings.

Begun in 1994, a humble building gradually morphed into a castle spanning 121,000 square feet with 107 rooms located in four underground and four above-ground levels. The building has all the elements you’d expect from an authentic Italian castle. A moat with a drawbridge, high stone walls, gargoyles, a church, and a fully equipped torture chamber will fascinate on the way to the vaulted wine tasting cellar.

Thankfully, Castello di Amorosa puts the same love and attention into its wines which are elegant, intensely flavored, and well-balanced. The castle winery produces hand-crafted Italian-styled wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Primitivo and Sangiovese.

Best Wine Cave: Stags Leap Cellars

tasting room

Founded in 1970 by Warren Winiarski, this winery brought international acclaim to Napa Valley wines when their 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon won the famous 1976 “Judgment of Paris” tasting. A bottle of the vintage was inducted into the Smithsonian National Museum in 1996 to highlight the impact that the achievement had on the U.S. wine industry.

The newly remodeled facility at Stags Leap  is a showcase for gorgeous vineyards and Napa countryside. At the center of the vaulted cave, swings an amazing floor-to-ceiling Foucault pendulum. According to Winiarski, the winery’s cave “is the moral center of the universe.”

The 90-minute Stags Leap tour and tasting experience (by appointment only) explores the history of the estate, its unique terroir, and its superlative wines. Small groups are treated to fascinating stories of one of California’s earliest wine estates as they stroll the property and finish with a seated tasting in the stately Manor House.

You can no longer taste the famous 1973 cabernet, but you can taste one of their newer vintages from vines that have been growing on the estate since the 1890s.

Best Budget-friendly: Rombauer Vineyards

bottle of Rombauer Vineyards wine standing on the table

This St. Helena vineyard is one of the last wineries in the valley that encourages you to bring your own food for a picnic. Reserve one of their outdoor tables, buy a glass or bottle of their well-known chardonnay and enjoy a budget-friendly meal.

If you are interested in a guided tasting here, those won’t break the bank either! Indoor and outdoor tastings for groups of 1-4 are only $25 per person. While they don’t offer much for snacks, the friendly staff, quality wine, and beautiful setting make for a great value tasting.

Best Wine Club: Beringer Vineyard

beringer vineyard

If you really enjoy the wines from a specific winery and the wines are hard to find, then I recommend

If you really enjoy the wines from a specific winery and the wines are hard to find, then I recommend signing up a wine club in Napa Valley. As a member, you will often be the first to receive new releases or limited production wines. Most memberships include free tastings in their tasting rooms and discounts when you buy more wines online.

Beringer V ineyards has an extremely celebrated wine club credited to its intricately adorned 17-room Rhine House mansion, constructed in 1884. Beringer Reserve Club members receive complimentary samples and tastings in exclusive areas of the mansion.

The Beringer Wine Club also features special invitations to classes, performances, recitals and other pop-up occasions like gourmet dinners and rare barrel-tasting sessions in cellars where wine producers work their magic.

While distinguished as the oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley and a National Historic site, Beringer Estate is graced with 19th-century architecture and verdant gardens.

Beringer cultivates diverse and prized vineyards across appellations from the highest hills in Napa to the valley floor behind the historic winery.

Best Convenience: Ackerman Heritage House

glasses of wine on the table

If you are staying in downtown Napa, a stop at Ackerman Heritage House is a must. This stunning 1889 Victorian Estate is walking distance from most Napa hotels, but the convenience doesn’t make the experience.

Ackerman Family Vineyards provide elegant experiences at their Heritage House. You can find classic tastings here, but Ackerman pays almost as much attention to their food as their wines. From chef-led wine and lunch pairings, to cooking classes, to one of the best brunches in town, all of your senses are sure to be delighted.

Best Fairy Tale Estate: Domaine Carneros

domaine carneros entrance alley

Founded by the noble French family behind Champagne Taittinger, this majestically grand château delivers a splendid wine tour in Carneros Appellation of Napa Valley. The Domaine Carneros is located in the southern part of Napa Valley, near the cool climate of San Pablo Bay.

This stunning 18th-century French mansion is carved into a gorgeous Napa hillside. Below the winery are cellars, replete with exceptional sparkling wine. There are three terraces from which you can enjoy breathtaking views while sipping extraordinary sparkling and Pinot Noir wines.

Winery tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at how sparkling wines are produced, from harvesting of the vineyards to the bottling process. The tour experience culminates with a sampling of wines paired with an array of artisan cheeses, gourmet caviar, smoked salmon, and charcuterie, while seated in the Louis XV–inspired salon.

Best Celebrity-Owned Winery: Inglenook Winery

inglenook winery entrance

One of the original Napa Valley wineries, the elegant, ivy-covered Inglenook was founded by Finnish sea

One of the original Napa Valley wineries, the elegant, ivy-covered Inglenook was founded by Finnish sea captain and wine connoisseur, Gustave Niebaum, in 1879. Gustave was passionate about making fine wines.

Hollywood legends were drawn to this Napa treasure in the 1930s and 40s, including Carole Lombard, Clark Gable, and Jean Harlow, to name just a few.

In 1975, Francis Ford Coppola acquired the notorious winery and spent considerable time, money, and energy restoring it to its original, magnificent splendor. He has since returned the abandoned name Inglenook to the estate, promoting it as a true crown jewel of Napa Valley.

Wine tours of the historic grounds, elaborate tasting rooms, antique cars and other features are by appointment only.

Best Family-friendly: Tres Sabores

sheep in the vineyard

Tres Sabores is a kid and dog-friendly vineyard aimed at bringing you back to the old Napa. This family-owned winery, opened in 1999, aims “to explore the ‘three savory flavors’ in every glass of wine: the taste of the vine, the terroir, and the good company around the table.”

Owner and winemaker Julie Johnson does just that by providing a relaxed yet intimate experience. Adults will delight in the organic wine and children will be fascinated by the local animals, curated activities, and maybe even a taste of something fresh from the garden. While they do offer food pairings, parents of picky kids shouldn’t despair, as they encourage groups to bring their own food too, as long as they drink what is available on property.

This unpretentious winery was recognized by the San Francisco Chronicle as one of the top wineries in Napa Valley in 2023. Take a drive down the dirt road and see why for yourself.

Best Exclusive: Fantesca Estate and Winery

entrance to the Fantesca Estate and Winery

This hidden gem winery offers only private tours of their St. Helena estate to elevate your Napa Valley experience. The personalized tour of the grounds, complete with stunning Spring Mountain views, offers an impressive start to the experience.

Continue your journey into their winemaking process with a tour of their 300-foot mountainside cave, filled with fragrant french oak barrels. Learn about winemaker Heidi Barrett’s limited-availability wines during a tasting of select vintage and library wines at your private tasting desk overlooking the valley floor.

Not only does Fantesca produce fantastic wines, their estate is also home to olive trees and honey bees, which produce extra virgin olive oils and dark, rich Napa Valley honey. Explore all that Fantesca has to offer with an exclusive visit to this special property.

Best Exclusive: Hall Napa Valley

vineyards in front of hall napa valley winery

Hall Napa Valley wines perfectly illustrate the meaning of terroir. Carefully curating grapes from 13 of the 16 Napa Valley appellations makes for a portfolio of plush, dense, structured wines with refined tannins.

The tasting room of this Rutherford AVA has floor-to-ceiling glass to show off the remarkable views of the Sacrache vineyard where organically farmed, densely planted grapes result in some of the smoothest, most flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the world.

Exquisite tasting dinners of seasonal cuisine prepared by celebrity chefs, are delightfully lit by a massive Donald Lipski chandelier in the shape of a grapevine root system set aglow with the sparkle of 1,500 Swarovski crystals.  The tasting caves are hand-built from bricks imported out of Vienna.

Watch Hall’s calendar for special wine and food pairing events and for when they will offering sips of the rarest single-vineyard bottles in the Appellation Exploration Experience.

best napa valley wine tours from san francisco

Group Tour.

There are more than a dozen established and respected tour operators offering wine tasting experiences. Taking one of these wine tours from San Francisco offers you the chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the experience.

The experiences are guided so you can learn about grape growing and winemaking as you travel to visit Napa Valley wineries. As a bonus, you’ll have the chance to socialize with other wine enthusiasts as you taste your way through the area.

Group tour operators usually include the wine tasting fees which they negotiate below the posted rates. They also take care of reservations which can be difficult to get during the peak summer and fall seasons. Here are several, we recommend:

Platypus Wine Tours’ “join-in” wine tours are a good option to experience Napa’s wineries while meeting new people along the way. During this approachable, sociable tour, you’ll visit four wineries and have a picnic lunch. Note: Platypus does not pick up at any hotels in San Francisco. They begin tours from Vallejo, CA, which you must reach by taking a ferry from Pier 1 in San Francisco. Phone: (707) 253-2723

Extranomical Tours’ Redwoods and Wine Country Tour is one of the most highly regarded wine tours from San Francisco based on TripAdvisor reviews . The day starts with a stroll under giant redwoods in Muir Woods and then a wine enthusiast guide takes you to both Napa and Sonoma Valleys for tastings and an optional gourmet lunch . Extranomical Tours also offers a Small Group Reserve Tour to Napa that visits three of the wineries on this “best” list.

Private Tours

woman tasting red wine

If you prefer to stick with your own group for a Napa Valley wine tasting from San Francisco and you have at least 6 people, you can easily arrange a reasonably priced private tour. A day tour to Napa from San Francisco will run $400 to $600 but you’ll need to add in the wine tasting fees (plan on an average $25 per person at each winery) and gratuity for the driver.

Private tours can be customized to wineries you want to visit, and you can decide whether you want the fare to include wine tasting fees or pay them as you go. The operator should also make reservations at the wineries (make sure of this!).

Extranomical San Francisco Tours (more shameless promotion!) also offers private, build-your-own wine tours to Napa Valley from San Francisco . To make the planning easy, an experienced travel consultant will help put your private tour together and handle reservations and all the special details needed to make your day in the wine country perfectly memorable. They do pickups from any Bay Area hotel to Napa and back. Phone: (415)-357-0700

Beau Wine Tours & Limo offers introductory tours perfect for Napa Valley newbies. The experience can be customized to your tastes and offers the chance to visit and tour at premier Napa wineries like Robert Mondavi Winery, Chateau Montelena, and Beringer Estate. A professional guide will provide insights into Napa’s grape varieties and terroir to help you gain a better understanding of this beloved wine region. Beau Wine Tours is based in Napa but will pick up qualifying groups in San Francisco for an extra fee. Phone: (707) 257-0887

DIY Of course, you can drive yourself on a tour of Napa Valley wineries. Don’t rent a car from the airport, wait until you get into San Francisco and rent your car just for the day you plan to head to up to Napa Valley (hotels can charge up to $70 per night for a garage space!). Make sure you check how late the rental car company is open, since some close early on certain nights of the week.

Be sure to set up tasting tour appointments in advance. Most wineries have open tasting hours, but many of the best experiences require advance reservations. You can simply call the wineries or look on their sites to see if appointments can be made online.

You can also use Uber/Lift as transportation, but they will not plan your route for the day. Without a good plan for going from winery to winery and lunch, you may spend most of your day inside a Prius instead of enjoying your day in Napa Valley.

Be sure to assign a designated driver!

You can also use Uber/Lift as transportation, but they will not plan your route for the day. Without a good plan for going from winery to winery and lunch you may spend most of your day inside a Prius instead of enjoying your day in Napa Valley.

Is this your first trip to the wine country? No problem, here are a few helpful hints to help you prepare.

  • Eat Before Tasting: Eat a good breakfast before you leave your hotel so you are ready for a full day of tasting.
  • Don’t Wear Perfume: Leave the scent of your perfume and lotions at your hotel. This allows your nose (and others’ noses!) to fully experience the beauty of each wine.
  • Search “how to taste wines”: Swirl, sniff, sip, and repeat to savor all of the aromas and flavors.
  • Ask Questions: Don’t be afraid to ask questions as the wineries LOVE talking about their wines.
  • Pace Yourself: Wine tasting is a slow process so you can remember every moment, flavor, and wine. Take your time as you taste and savor the experience.

Of course, this list only scratches the surface. Napa has dozens of other amazing wineries worth noting, such as Beaulieu, Cakebread, Ehlers, Far Niente, Robert Mondavi, Pine Ridge, Shafer, Darioush and Silver Oak, to name a few.

You'll also have the chance to eat an Italian lunch at one of the wineries (at your own expense). The outings also include photo stops at popular destinations like the Golden Gate Bridge . Drivers, who double as guides, provide commentary about the wine country as well as San Francisco history and are generally considered knowledgeable and friendly. Tourgoers also appreciate the variety of delicious vino sampled. Tickets start at $165 per adult. Though tasting fees aren't included, you will receive a discount. Trips depart daily around 9 a.m. and pick up at either Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf ; you'll be dropped back off at one of those locations about eight hours later. Painted Ladies Tour Company also offers tours of San Francisco and private outings.

Travelers enjoy the expert winery employees as well. Tours, which include pickup and drop-off at either Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf, run daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets start at $149 for adults and $79 for children 5 to 11 and include tasting fees, but not lunch. Gray Line also operates numerous other tours in the region, including a tour to Monterey and Carmel.

Beau Wine Tours – San Francisco to Russian River Valley Wine Tours

The Russian River Valley is known for its pinot noir, and this tour highlights the vineyards and wineries where the grapes are grown and the wine is produced. This luxury experience begins with pickup from your hotel and features scenic drives through the wine region. Travelers consistently praise guides as knowledgeable and personable. However, other reviewers express some frustration with staff's poor communication when trying to plan their excursions. Tours depart around 9 a.m. Prices vary depending on group size, trip length and type of vehicle you select for the trip. A tour by passenger car costs approximately $95 per hour with an eight-hour minimum; tasting fees are not included. The company also conducts tours of other wine regions, including Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley.

Edge of the World Tours – The Great Wine Tour

Spend nine hours with up to 12 other tour-takers on this journey through Sonoma. You'll visit three wineries, learn about each one's winemaking process and participate in three tastings. The outing includes a stop for lunch, at your own expense. Reviewers say the tour is plenty of fun thanks to the personable guides and appreciate the small groups. Tours depart daily at 8 a.m. Fees start at $149 for adults and $125 for those younger than 21 and nondrinkers. Tasting fees are included in the cost of the tour. Edge of the World Tours also operates private excursions.

Private Napa Valley Wine Tours

Things to Know

Though private tours of Napa Valley are more common, there are still a handful of companies that offer group tours.

Of the companies listed below, Wine Country Tour Shuttle, Platypus Wine Tours, Napa Valley Wine Country Tours, and Beau Wine Tours & Limo Service visit 4 different wineries, have the capacity to accommodate small groups of 10-12 guests, and are lead by qualified guides.

A picnic lunch is also included in the price of each of these tour. Platypus Tours and Napa Valley Wine Tours also serve a cheese platter and breakfast with mimosas, respectively.

Wine tasting fees are not included in the cost of any of these tours, and usually run about $15 per person at each stop.

Gray Line and Tower Tours, on the other hand, run full coach tours to 3 different wineries. Tasting fees are included in the price of these tours, though lunch is not.

Below the companies are listed in order of price, from cheapest to most expensive.

City Sightseeing

CitySightseeing Tours are classic hop-off, hop-on bus tours that take visitors to several different tourist destinations.

They offer half day and full-day tour of Napa Valley, as well as a combination day tour to both Napa and Muir Woods, known for its towering redwood trees.

The half day and combination tour options visit 2-3 wineries, while the full day tour visits 4. The first wine tasting fee is included in the price of the full and half day tours, but all additional tastings must be paid for separately.

This outfit offers complimentary hotel pick-up from San Francisco.

Cost:

  • Half Day Napa Valley Tour- $74.99 per person, including 1 wine tasting fee
  • Full Day Napa Valley Tour - $99.99 per person, including 1 wine tasting fee
  • Muir Woods and Napa Valley Tour - $124.99 per person, including 2 wine tasting fees

Pick-up/Drop-off: C omplimentary hotel pickup from San Francisco to Napa and Napa to San Francisco.

Reviews:  Tours to Napa Valley with CitySightseeing receive generally positive reviews, with many guests praising the ease of transportation.

The quality of the guided commentary varies depending on the driver, though most visitors find it informative and enjoyable. Some guests had trouble hearing the driver due to a poor PA system on the bus.

Overall, visitors who traveled with CitySightseeing found the experience very enjoyable and straightforward.

TripAdvisor Rating: 3.5 stars.

This is one of the newest tour companies in the Bay Area, and one of their services just so happens to be a day trip to the Napa & Sonoma Valleys.

At 9 hours in length, this is an extensive outing which includes several opportunities to taste wine and learn about how it is made.

Groups are kept at a maximum of 12 persons to make sure that the tour doesn't get too crowded.

A Day in Wine Country

  • $229 per person
  • Duration: 9 hours
  • Includes a trip to Napa Valley.
  • Includes a trip to Sonoma Valley.
  • Includes wine tastings at three wineries.

Although they don't currently have any reviews for this specific tour, Take Walks regularly receives excellent ratings from their customers.

Many guests are impressed with their tour guides, describing them as entertaining and informative.

Wine Country Tour Shuttle

This company offers 2 different wine tours around Napa Valley. The first is with Robert Mondavi Winery and the second is with Castello di Amorosa.

Both include 4 stops at different vineyards, a picnic lunch, and a knowledgeable guide. Of all the group tours included on this list, this company is the most affordable at just $79 and $89 per person.

Wine tasting fees, gratuities, and the entrance fee for visiting Castello di Amorosa ($20) is not included in the price of the tour.

  • Napa Valley Tour with Castello di Amorosa - $79 per person, excluding wine tasting fees
  • Napa Valley Tour with Robert Mondavi Winery - $89 per person, excluding wine tasting fees

Pick-up/Drop-off:

  • Napa Valley Tour with Castello di Amorosa - The Ferry Building, though they will call a taxi company on your behalf to pick you up at your hotel and drop at first winery
  • Napa Valley Tour with Robert Mondavi Winery - Pick-up available from almost any Napa Valley hotel

Reviews:  Reviews are generally very positive, as many guests comment on the impressive knowledge of the guides and the beautiful views seen on the drive.

On rare occasions, guests report having their tours canceled at the last minute, though complaints of this sort are few and far between.

Of their two tours on offer, the Napa Valley Tour with Castello di Amorosa is the most popular.

TripAdvisor Rating: 4.5 stars.

Gray Line Tours

In addition to their many other bus tours, Gray Line also offers a Deluxe Sonoma & Napa Valley Wine Tour packages.

Guests visit 3 different wineries and are given free time to explore and have lunch in Yountville. Unlike many of the other companies, the tasting fees are included in this tour.

However, the 'tour' at each vineyard is limited to a presentation by a representative and wine tasting, rather than of the wine making process itself. Also, this group tour is much larger than most, with capacity for more than 40 persons.

As Gray Line offers to collect guests directly from their hotel in San Francisco, this is a great option for those who aren't staying in Napa and don't feel comfortable traveling their on their own.

Cost:  $91 per person, including tasting fees but excluding lunch

Drop-off/Pick-up:  Pick-up/drop-off from any San Francisco hotel

Reviews:  Reviews of Gray Line's wine tour are generally very positive. Guests praise the knowledgeable drive-guide and the ease by which they were able to visit several wineries from San Francisco to Napa.

Some complain about the lack of intimacy, however, that is inevitably the trade off for such an affordable excursion that also includes wine tasting fees.

TripAdvisor Rating: 4 stars.

Tower Tours

Tower Tours offer a Napa & Sonoma Wine Country which visits 3 different wineries and offers complimentary shuttle pick up from most San Francisco hotels.

Similar to Gray Line Tours, this tour accommodates a large number of people and thus isn't quite as intimate as some of the other companies.

Wine tasting fees at each vineyard is included in the price of the tour, however, lunch is not. After a brief presentation and wine tasting, guests are given 1 hour to explore the winery and complete any purchases of their choosing.

Like Gray Line Tours, the presentation does not include any insight into how the wine is made.

Cost: $91 per person

Drop-off/Pick-up: Complimentary shuttle pickup from most San Francisco hotels.

Reviews:  Reviews of Tower Tours are relatively positive as guests praise the guides and the selection of wineries.

Some comment that they wish there was more information regarding the wine making process, however, this is more of an issue to be taken up with the wineries rather than the tour company.

Overall, guests seem very pleased with this affordable wine tour!

Extranomical Tours

Extranomical Tours offers full day tours to both Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley. Their trips include complimentary hotel pickup, a guided tour of San Francisco's wine country, and wine tasting fees at at least 2 different wineries.

Wine country tours can also be combined with other popular tourist destinations such as Muir Woods and  Alcatraz. Lunch is included in the price of some of their tours, so be sure to clarify if this is the case.

San Francisco Wine Lover's Tour

  • From $138 per person
  • 9 hours, departing daily
  • More info and to book .

Muir Woods and Wine Country (Sonoma and Napa Valley

  • From $102 per person
  • More info to book

Wine Lover's Tour and Alcatraz Ticket

  • From $147 per person
  • More info and for reservation

Reviews: Extranomical Tours has a great reputation, boasting 4 ½ star rating on TripAdvisor and a 4-star rating on Yelp.

The handful of negative reviews are mostly centered around scheduling conflicts, however these issues are often difficult to predict, especially considering the heavy traffic coming in and out of San Francisco.

Considering this is the only real complaint, the company is obviously doing pretty well.

Almost every other similar service has received complaints about the bus either being late or broken, so it’s worth noting that Extranomical does not appear to have these problems.

TripAdvisor Rating: 4.5 stars.

Napa Valley Wine Country Tours

This company offer 2 different types of wine tour of Napa Valley -- the first departing from San Francisco and the second departing from Napa.

Each operates daily and visits 4 premium vineyards in Napa Valley, includes a picnic style lunch, and features a knowledgable driver-guide.

The Napa wine tour that departs from San Francisco also includes a "mimosa wine country breakfast", which is served on the bus and features bagels, croissants, fresh fruit, and a mimosa.

Gratuity and wine tasting fees not included in either tour.

  • San Francisco to Wine Country -   $99 per person, plus wine tasting fees.
  • Napa Valley Daily Wine Country - $99 per person, plus wine tasting fees.
  • San Francisco to Wine Country -   Union Square OR Pier 39
  • Napa Valley Daily Wine Country - Pick-up available from almost any Napa Valley hotel

Reviews:  Reviews are also very positive for Napa Valley Wine Tours, as several guests comment on the outstanding customer service and unbeatable quality of guides.

Some guests write: "hands down the best wine tour ever." Though a few reviewers critcized the price of the tour, this company actually offers one of the most competitive priced tours of Napa Valley.

TripAdvisor Rating: 5 stars.

Platypus Wine Tours

Platypus Wine Tours is the top rated wine tour company on TripAdvisor and offers group tours of Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, and North Sonoma.

The Napa Valley tour visits 4 different wineries, dedicating roughly an hour at each one. In addition to a knowledgable guide, the tour also features a picnic lunch, as well as a cheese platter served on the bus.

Groups are limited to 10 persons, ensuring that the experience is always intimate. Expect to pay $10-$15 at each stop for the wine tasting experience, in addition to any bottles you wish to purchase.

Cost: $110 per person, not including wine tasting fees

Pick-up/Drop-off: Platypus Tours will pick up from almost any hotel or inn in Napa Valley. For those taking Napa Valley tours from San Francisco, Platypus Tours dispatches a bus to collect tourists a Vallejo Ferry Terminal.

Tourists simply must go to San Francisco Ferry Marketplace Building, take the ferry to Vallejo Ferry Terminal, and then wait to be collected by the Platypus Tours bus.

Reviews: Platypus Tours has an outstanding reputation, with a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor and several thousand reviews. Former guests comment that "there can't be a better wine tour out there" and ask "is it possible to have too much fun??".

Though complaints are few and far between, some guests felt the tour was overpriced and that the wine tasting tour should have been included in the fee. However, it is very common for all wine tours to exclude the tasting fees in the cost of the tour.

Beau Wine Tours

Though they specialize primarily in private luxury wine tours, they also offers a group tour to Napa Valley.

Guests are brought to 4 different vineyards, are accompanied by a qualified guide, and given champagne and a picnic lunch. The price of the tour does not include the wine tasting fees or any gratuity for the guide.

Drivers typically call tourists prior to the tour to inquire about their wine and vineyard preferences, so that the tour is as customized as possible (though there is no guarantee that the guide will be able to accommodate everyone's wishes).

Cost: $125 per person, not including wine tasting fees.

Pick-up/Drop-off: Tours will pick up from almost any hotel or inn in Napa Valley. For those taking Napa Valley tour from San Francisco, the tour dispatches a bus to collect tourists a Vallejo Ferry Terminal.

Guests simply must go to San Francisco Ferry Marketplace Building, take the ferry to Vallejo Ferry Terminal, and then wait to be collected by the tour bus.

Reviews:  Beau Wine Tours also receive excellent reviews, with many tourists praising the company's outstanding customer service.

Though their group tour is not as popular as their individual tours, there are still several positive reviews from guests who have used their group tour service.

Though individual tours may appear significantly more expensive than any of the group tour offers, they can be a reasonable alternative for those already travelling as a group.

There are several different companies that offer individual tours of Napa Valley. Occasionally there are 'hidden fees' in the form of tax, wine tasting fees, the cost of the fuel, and any other number of things, so be sure to clarify what is included in the cost of the tour.

Squire Livery Tours

Squire Livery Tours markets itself as a luxury wine tour company that offers bespoke, individual tours of Napa Valley.

The company is run by Kent, a Napa Valley native whose knowledge and passion for wine goes nearly unmatched.

Guests can design their personalized tours with the help of Kent and his team. There is a 6 hour minimum tour length.

Cost: $85 per hour with a 6 hour minimum tour length

Pick-up/Drop-off:  Pick-up available from any accommodation in Napa Valley. Those staying outside of Napa Valley must find their own means of transportation to Napa Valley.

Reviews:  Squire Livery Tours has an outstanding reputation with no ratings below 5 stars on TripAdvisor to date. Customers rave about the knowledge of the guides and the ease of the trip, as Kent and his team organize all of the minute details of the tour.

Many reviewers say that they felt like they had "made a new friend and built a lasting relationship" after a day with their guide. Several guests are return customers who were eager to use Squire Livery Tours again.

TripAdvisor Rating: 5 stars.

In addition to their group tours, they offers several different customizable individual tours of Napa Valley.

Guests can choose their departure location, the wineries they wish to visit, and the number of days they hope to explore the area. Prices vary immensely, so it is best to get a quote directly from the company.

Cost: Varies

Pick-up/Drop-off:  Availability of Pick-up/drop-off from almost anywhere in Napa or San Francisco.

Reviews:  Beau Wine Tours also receive excellent reviews, with many guests praising the company’s outstanding customer service.

They are particularly well known for their individual tours, which receive several positive reviews from guests who have used their group tour service.

Flex Wine Tours

All Flex Wine tours are led by sommeliers who curate each tour based on the personal wine and travel preferences of the guests.

After consulting with one of their representatives, an itinerary is developed to suit the specific needs of the customer. Premium waters, drinks, snacks & palate cleansers are available on-board.

Flex Wine Tours also provides guests with videos and photos of their trip for no additional cost.

Pick-up/Drop-off:  Pick-up/drop-off available from almost anywhere in Napa.

Reviews:  Reviews are also very positive for this company, with many guests complimenting the "intimate knowledge" of the guides, as well as the "extremely professional customer experience."

For some, the price of the tour seemed especially steep. However, Flex Wine Tours' rates are fairly standard for a bespoke private tour company of this area.

Intimate Wine Tours

Intimate Wine Tours specialize in fully customized, individual tours of Napa and Sonoma and provides an intimate experience of vines and winemakers.

Guides are fully qualified and the company boasts that they offer "the most affordable and discounted rates within the industry."

Guests collaborate with Intimate Wine Tours to design an itinerary that features any combination of 9 different Napa Valley wineries.

Cost: Varies.

Pick-up/Drop-off:  Pick-up/drop-off available from anywhere in Napa.

Reviews:  The reviews for this company are excellent, as many former customers vow to never visit Napa without Intimate Wine Tours!

Other guests say "words don't even do it justice with what a great time we had." The odd complaint is very rare and usually describes a very abnormal circumstance.

Napa Your Way

Napa Your Way is a small, family run wine tour company that specializes in trips around Napa Valley. They make a particular effort to bring visitors to smaller, lesser-known wineries rather than those run by large companies.

Guests can also add on a lunch or dinner stop to their tour for additional fees.

Cost:  $80 per hour, plus a remote destination fee of $75 each way. Wine tasting fees not included.

Reviews:  Napa Your Way receives excellent reviews, with many guests praising Brad, the owner and main guide of the company, for being so knowledgable and for having the ability to "make small miracles happen."

This company truly specializes in making each tour as unique and personal as possible, and all of their 5 star reviews are evidence of that success!

  • Confirm what exactly is included in the cost and what is not. For example, the price of group tours often does not include tasting fees, and the price of individual tours often does not include the cost of gas. It is important to know the approximate cost of the day so that guests can plan accordingly.
  • Don't forget ID! The last thing you want is to pay for a wine tour and then not be able to drink the wine!
  • Do your research beforehand. Though some group tours have a set list of wineries that they visit, some group tours and all individual tours will try to accommodate any requests made by the guests. If there is a particular winery you want to visit, read up on it beforehand and ask your guide if it could be done.

For the budget conscious traveller, there are several websites that regularly offer discounts on wine tours of Napa. Here are some of the best websites to browse through in search a deal:

The first costs $95 and allows guests to spend the entire day exploring Napa and Sonoma. The first wine tasting is included in the price of the ticket, but all the following sips must be purchased separately.

Additionally, guests can choose to take the Muir Woods and Wine Country Tour, which gives visitors a brief chance to experience both sites.

Groupon, Living Social, GoldStar, and Viator

Additionally, there are several other discount websites such as GroupOn, LivingSocial, GoldStar, and Viator that periodically offer discounted tours of Napa Valley.

These companies update their deals on a regular basis, so be sure to check each website to learn more about what special discounts are on offer.
