Celebrity Cruises drink packages: Cost, inclusions and what to know before you buy

Melinda Crow

Celebrity Cruises drink packages give you the freedom to enjoy both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages during your cruise without worrying about the tab. Adding a beverage package to your cruise moves your vacation one step closer to an all-inclusive experience that stops the day-to-day nickel and diming for every soda, bottle of water and glass of wine.

But drink packages can get a bit confusing. Do you save money with a package, or should you stick to ordering and paying for drinks one at a time? Which drink package is part of the "All Included" cabin pricing, and is that option your best bet?

These are just a few of the questions new Celebrity cruisers (and even some veterans of the line) often ask when it comes time to consider buying a drink package for their cruise.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

In an effort to simplify choices, Celebrity Cruises offers just three beverage packages, including a Zero-Proof package for nonalcoholic drinks. To help you decide which (if any) package suits your needs and those of your travel companions, I've dug through the details and tested some of the options. Here's what you need to know before you buy.

What's included in a Celebrity drink package?

celebrity cruises mini bar

Celebrity Cruises' three drink packages include the Zero Proof, Classic and Premium drink packages. All of the beverage package options include bottled water (usually served in aluminum bottles to reduce single-use plastics on board), specialty coffees and teas, soft drinks and mocktails.

Your drinks may be ordered from any bar, restaurant or bar server in public areas, such as pools or entertainment venues. The packages are also valid for use on private islands like Labadee and Perfect Day at CocoCay .

With a few exceptions, each package builds on the previous (lower-priced) package. Here is what's included in each Celebrity cruise drink package.

Zero Proof (aka nonalcoholic) drink package

Celebrity offers one package for nonalcoholic beverages. It does not offer separate water-only or soda-only packages as some cruise lines do. Those drinks are included in the Zero Proof package. (You might see this package listed as either Zero Proof or Nonalcoholic on the Celebrity website and app.)

As we said before, all Celebrity drink packages include premium coffees and teas like those served at Cafe al Bacio and mocktails. The Zero Proof package also includes drinks such as Red Bull, Vitamin Water, fresh juices and smoothies at The Spa Cafe and premium waters like San Pellegrino or Evian.

This package is ideal for those who drink few, if any, alcoholic drinks, but need their morning latte or down several glasses of sparkling water or soda daily. Plus, you can enjoy vacation splurges like smoothies or frozen mocktails.

Classic drink package

The Classic drink package includes most of the nonalcoholic drinks available in the Zero Proof package, except the specialty brands like Red Bull and premium waters. You'll get all beer, wine by the glass, spirits, cocktails and liqueurs priced at $10 or less. Additionally, you get a 15% discount off all bottles of wine, which you can enjoy anywhere on board, including in your cabin.

Examples of drinks that are part of the Classic drink package are beers like Sam Adams, Corona, Coors and Alaska Brewing beers on Alaska cruises. Wines will vary depending on the location of your cruise.

Most cocktails are included in the package. They will be made from non-premium brand ingredients. Liqueurs included in the package are those with lower price tags. Think Kahlua, but not Bailey's Irish Cream or Grand Marnier.

You can still order drinks that are over the $10 limit imposed by the package. You'll simply pay the difference between the $10 limit and the cost of the drink. Some cruisers on social media have said they found it necessary on some sailings to say the word "classic" when ordering drinks in order to avoid being served a premium drink and having an upcharge apply.

Celebrity Cruises' Classic package works for most drinkers who plan to consume several drinks each day. It will cover bottled water you can take into port with you to stay hydrated during excursions and sodas for lunch while providing for most of your beer, wine and spirits needs. If you decide you want a different beer or a cocktail with a call liquor, just pay the difference.

Premium drink package

celebrity cruises mini bar

Celebrity's Premium drink package moves the price limit per drink to $17, which covers almost anything you'd drink on board other than higher-priced wines or a few of the pricier spirits. Premium brand waters and Red Bull are available in this package. You'll also have a 20% discount on bottled wine available to use, which can absolutely make a difference in your evening wine selections.

Examples of beverages available in this package are beers like Blue Moon, Guinness and Grolsch. Wines by the glass in the package are a step above those found in the Classic package and include Champagnes. Cocktails are made from premium spirits such as Crown Royal, Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire and Patron Silver. The list of brandies and liqueurs expands considerably.

Many Celebrity cruisers have found it necessary to order their drinks specifically as "premium" beverages or to order by brand to avoid getting drinks made with the cheapest liquors.

The Premium package is perfect for cruisers who don't want to make money decisions when ordering a drink. If I want a shot of Godiva poured over my late-night ice cream, I don't really want to stop and wonder if it's included in my package.

Drink package fine print

Packages do not include beverages ordered from room service, bought in onboard gift shops or consumed from the minibar in your cabin.

There are no daily limits on how many drinks you can have on a Celebrity Cruises drink package, but you can only order one drink at a time. The exception to that is that you can usually request a bottle of water at the same time you order an alcoholic drink.

The drink packages with alcohol come with a caveat — all passengers of legal drinking age in a cabin must buy the same package. So, if your roomie prefers premium spirits, you must also buy the premium package. Non-drinkers can request an exemption from the alcoholic packages but must purchase the Zero Proof package instead.

What do Celebrity drink packages cost?

celebrity cruises mini bar

Now that you know what you can drink with each package, let's break down the costs.

The cruise line has a stated (pre-tip) price for its drink packages that include alcohol: $89 per person, per day for the Classic package and $109 per person, per day for the Premium package. However, that price fluctuates with demand. You can expect to pay more during holiday sailings and spring break. The flip side is that the cruise line frequently offers special pricing that lowers the cost.

Here are the ranges of what a Celebrity drink package costs. The lowest prices are based on previous sales.

  • Zero Proof drink package: $30 per person, per day ($36 with gratuity)
  • Classic drink package: $35 to $89 per person, per day ($42 to $106.80 with gratuity)
  • Premium drink package: $56 to $129 per person, per day ($67.20 to $154.80 with gratuity)

The gratuity is 20% and is added when you purchase the package. That eliminates any additional tip on individual drink orders unless you want to tip extra.

Related: Are cruise line drinks packages worth the price? What to know before you buy

Now, let's complicate the whole decision-making process by factoring in Celebrity's "All Included" fares .

During the booking process, after you've selected your cabin, you'll be offered an opportunity to upgrade your cruise with an All Included package that adds the Classic drink package and basic Wi-Fi for each guest in the room. It pays to compare the non-upgrade price to the upgrade, then divide the difference by the number of nights and the number of people in the cabin.

I recently found All Included upgrade prices as low as $35 per person, per night, which makes the drink package less than half price and Wi-Fi free. Once you have the Classic package in place through the All-In add-on, you can easily upgrade to the Premium drink package if you prefer.

While the listed upgrade price is $20 per person, per night, I've heard from multiple cruisers that the upgrade is sometimes offered as low as $6.99 per person, per night, making that a bargain as well. Don't forget the 20% gratuity per person, per night, that's tacked onto the price.

The best times to buy a Celebrity drink package

celebrity cruises mini bar

You can buy your drink package as soon as you book your cruise, or you can wait until you are on board. Which is the better plan?

If your cruise is leaving within the next few months, it's probably best to go ahead and lock in the price — unless Black Friday happens to fall between purchase and the start of the cruise. Celebrity Black Friday deals on drink packages have historically been the lowest prices available all year.

The $35 per person, per night upgrade to All Included to get the Classic drink package in my example above was during the Black Friday Kickoff sale, a full two weeks before actual Black Friday.

The Celebrity drink package that fluctuates most in price is the Premium package, so it always pays to buy it pre-cruise. Advance prices are at least 5% lower online or in the cruise line app before embarkation day.

The key to getting the best deal, either through the All Included package or buying the drink package pre-cruise, is to do the math to break down the cost per person, per night. That way, you're always comparing apples to apples, despite BOGO deals or percentages off.

Is a Celebrity drink package worth it?

celebrity cruises mini bar

It's time to get down to whether you are saving money with these packages or whether that even matters to you. Let's look at each package again to see how much you need to consume to break even.

This one is pretty easy to break even on. Specialty coffees average around $6 but can run as much as $10 each. Sodas are $3; water is $3-$5, depending on the brand; mocktails and smoothies are $9. One coffee to start your day, a smoothie or fresh juice with breakfast, two bottles of water for hydration, a soda with lunch, a mocktail by the pool, and another soda during the evening, and you're up to $40 per day.

Daily consumption on this package might start out similar to the sample list on the Zero Proof package: specialty coffee each morning, bottled water and soda throughout the day and maybe a smoothie. But then you'd need to drink six or more cocktails (which start at $9), beers ($6.50 to $10) or glasses of wine ($8-10) to hit the $89 base price of this package.

At the regular price, you'd either need to drink a lot of alcohol every day to break even, or really lean into the nonalcoholic beverages if you can't handle that much liquor daily. Obviously, if you can find a discounted package, you'll break even more easily. For Celebrity's Classic package to make sense, you should either be someone who enjoys a large number of drinks or who cares less about breaking even and more about creating a low-stress, more inclusive cruise experience.

The most expensive package is clearly for those who prefer premium brands in their drinks. If you're a top-shelf drinker, you won't have much difficulty consuming enough to make this package a value proposition.

This package is included with suites in The Retreat and is an easy upgrade for those who choose the All-In fares. In talking to cruisers who prefer this package, I found that many of them choose it simply to enjoy Celebrity's popular Martini Bar, which has a drink menu with almost all drinks over the $10 limit imposed by the Classic package.

As you consider which package works best for your drinking habits, be sure to factor in the ports and the itinerary as a whole. Sea days tend to be higher drink consumption days, so a seven-night cruise with two sea days may bump up your needs a bit. Stops at private islands may mean even higher consumption because you're away from the air-conditioning for much of the day. Cruises in warm weather areas like the Caribbean will increase your thirst overall.

Itineraries that might reduce consumption would be cool climate cruises and port-intensive European cruises, where you might find yourself drinking local beverages more often than not. In those cases, your onboard drinking could drop to levels below the point at which packages are cost-effective unless you get a bargain price.

Other factors to consider before you buy a Celebrity drink package

celebrity cruises mini bar

A couple of other factors could influence your drink needs and decision to buy a drink package or not.

The first is to remember that Celebrity does offer free beverage options. The tap water on board is drinkable; bring your own refillable bottle, and you won't need to purchase bottles of water. The buffet area and all restaurants offer free drip coffee, iced tea, hot tea, hot cocoa, milk, lemonade and punch.

Plus, each cruiser is allowed to bring up to 12 cans of nonalcoholic drinks on board on embarkation day. You can also bring a can or two back from ports with you. Your cabin attendant can keep you stocked with ice and glassware in your cabin.

You can also bring one bottle of wine per person on board on embarkation day. There is a corkage fee for opening it in a restaurant, but none if you open it and keep it in your cabin.

Related: Can I bring alcohol on a cruise ship? A line-by-line guide

If you're happy with these free options, supplemented by a couple of extra-fee drinks per day, you might save more by purchasing drinks a la carte versus splurging on a drink package.

You should also look at your loyalty status in Celebrity's Captain's Club . Starting with their second cruise, all members get one complimentary specialty coffee per cruise when dining in a specialty restaurant. So don't count that coffee in your decision.

All members also get a discount on bottles of wine. The discount starts at 10% for the newest members, then goes to 15% for Select members and 20% for Elite and up. That pretty much nullifies the benefit included in the packages for everyone with status.

The good news, though, is that all members get a discount on the pre-cruise purchase of any drink package — 10% for the bottom two tiers, 15% for Elite members and 20% for Elite Plus. Zenith members are entitled to complimentary drink packages. Captain's Club members can also access discounts on pre-cruise purchases of drink package upgrades for those who opt for the All Included fares.

Even better news is that Elite members and up drink free at most bars between 5 and 7 p.m., the official Captain's Club cocktail hour. You aren't limited to sitting at one bar, but you are limited to the choices on a special menu. It's possible to grab a glass of wine or a cocktail on your way to dinner and another on your way to a show.

The final factor might be a big one for some people. Celebrity supplies free drinks (alcoholic and non) for anyone actively playing in the casino . The caveats are that you can't get these free drinks from the bar, and catching a server in a busy casino can be challenging.

The advice I got from serious casino players is to tip the server a buck or two with every drink they bring to keep the service and the drinks coming all cruise. If you plan to spend hours in the casino, a drink package might not be necessary.

Bottom line: Is a Celebrity drink package right for you?

celebrity cruises mini bar

Now that you have all the details, you can decide, based on your consumption habits, whether a package is right for you. If you know you'll be drinking four or five drinks per day, plus bottled water, sodas and a smoothie now and then and don't gamble much or have loyalty status, you're likely to at least break even on a package.

Some people prefer to pay as you go. You can see each purchase in the cruise line app. If you go on a bender one night, it's easy to cut back your drink purchases the next night. Not having a package is a good choice for those who are either budgeting their money or dialing back their alcohol or calorie consumption.

The grayest area tends to be for those with Elite or Elite Plus status who also gamble. You might save money by simply bringing some of your own drinks on board and a refillable water bottle.

My own experience on a recent cruise was that the Elite happy hour drinks, along with a drink now and then in the casino, were enough for me. My husband played Blackjack for long hours and had a steady stream of his favorite beverages each night at no charge.

You can also look at drink packages from the point of view that it's simply another part of your vacation enjoyment. The three Celebrity drink packages make it simple for those who want an all-inclusive vibe on their cruise. If skimping and fretting over the cost of every latte or bottle of water isn't how you roll, pick the Zero Proof package if you don't drink alcohol, the Classic package if you aren't picky about your alcohol or the Premium package if you are.

The bottom line is that the packages aren't for everyone. Some like to splurge on other aspects of their cruise by saving on drinks. Others prefer a more complete bill for their vacation paid upfront, including all the drinks they could imagine served at their every whim.

Either way, you'll find a wide range of drink options, both alcoholic and non, from morning to the wee hours of the night. These are part of what makes a cruise vacation fun, no matter how you choose to pay for them.

Celebrity Bar Menus 2023

by Prof. Cruise · Published March 4, 2023 · Updated March 4, 2023

A bunch of Celebrity bar menus with text that reads: Celebrity bar menus and drink prices 2023.

These menus were collected on the Celebrity Solstice in March of 2023 and reflect current prices and offerings at that time. Some Celebrity ships will differ slightly in what’s offered, but this should give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of beverage availability and prices on your upcoming Celebrity cruise.

Before we get to the menus though, allow me to emphasize what a taxing job it was, traveling around to all the bars and photographing these menus for you. Don’t worry, I took a few breaks to rest and sample the offerings. First at Cafe al Bacio for some complimentary pastries and a mint chocolate martini:

Mint Chocolate Martini from Cafe al Bacio on the Celebrity Solstice.

Then at Sushi on Five for some lunch and an Asian Pear Smash:

Asian Pear Smash from Sushi on Five on the Celebrity Solstice.

And finally, at the Martini Bar for a martini flight:

Martini Flight from the Martini Bar on the Celebrity Solstice.

If any menus are missing, it’s because I fell down the stairs at that point and had to be evaluated at the medical center. No broken bones, thankfully, just a prescription for a tall glass of water and some buffet pizza and a stern warning that deficient coordination, a moving ship, and copious amounts of alcohol DO NOT MIX . Shrug .

So with that, here are the menus…

Great list – thanks! Did you see any type of Milky frozen drinks like the Tolberone and Mudslide? I haven’t been on Solstice for 5 or 6 years, but the last time I was on her, they did have them on the menus.

Most bars will be able to make those for you, ever if they’re not on the menu. Those are some of my favs too!

Celebrity Cruises Drinks & Bar Menus – Know what to expect on your next cruise

On a recent voyage (December 2023), we took the time to scan each of the drink menus on the Celebrity Constellation. These menus are representative of the drink & cocktail prices across the fleet of Celebrity ships, though some newer ships may have more unique bar menus.

Don’t forget that the prices do not include the mandatory 20% gratuity/service charge

We thought the prices were in line with most major cruise lines, however, there were an incredible number of standard wines and other beverages that were not available during the voyage leaving only more expensive options to choose from. If this is what is happening across the company it makes the drink package(s) seem like a decent deal if you can get it at the right price.

Pool Bar & Buffet Beverage Menus on Celebrity

The typical menus found at the pool bars and in the buffet area of the ships. Some of the beer, in my opinion, is excessively priced. The rest of the drinks seem on par with what you’d expect on any cruise line.

Cocktail & Bar Menus

The bar menus in the lounges vary, but this is the staple offering across the cruise line. Most cocktails were $12 throughout the ship and none were poured “light”.

Celebrity Cruises Wine Menu

Even though there was a dedicated wine bar on our latest cruise, the options seemed quite limited. Many weren’t available even if listed. What is posted as the available brands on the Celebrity website is unfortunately quite different than what the reality is.

Celebrity Cruises Martini Bar Menu

The martini bars on the Celebrity ships are hugely popular, for good reason! But the prices have gone up quite a bit in recent years. At $17 each, there are no martinis that now fit within the Classic beverage package, meaning you have to splurge for the Premium drink package if you want them included (or pay the difference in cost of a few dollars).

Other drink Prices on Celebrity Cruises

We try to scan every menu while we’re on a cruise, but for whatever reason, Celebrity has pulled many of the menus that are more general and replaced them with the above cocktail menus that aren’t totally inclusive.

It could be because of the rapid price changes across the fleet.

It left us asking everywhere we went, how much certain spirits were before we ordered. It was relatively frustrating to not be able to know what was offered and what the pricing was like.

Here are a few takeaways from our inquiries while onboard:

  • Macallan is $19 a pour now.
  • Woodford is at $17 a pour
  • There are very few wines and beers within the $10 price of the basic drink package
  • Wines by the glass and beers are priced between $12 and $17
  • There is an “elevated” selection of wines by the glass anywhere between $22-$36

Thanks for sharing the drink menus. Helps us to decide to upgrade out drink package to premium. Much appreciated. Pattie

I’m glad this helped Pattie! Unfortunately you almost have to upgrade the drink package to get anything decent now 🙁

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks so much for the above information, really helps me. I’m trying to find out the cost of spirits, especially whiskey.Do you have this information please. Thankyou

Hi Sue – They weirdly didn’t have separate spirits menus! I do know Dewar’s White Label, Famous Grouse, Jim Beam, Johnnie Walker Red, Monkey Shoulder, Seagram’s VO were all under $10 for a single pour. Since these are under the higher end drink package, they’ll be less than $17 : Aberfeldy 12, Bulleit Bourbon, Chivas Regal 12, Dewar’s 12, Gentleman Jack, The Glenlivet, Jack Daniel’s Black, Jack Daniel’s Rye, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, Johnnie Walker Black, Johnnie Walker Double Black, The Macallan Lumina, The Macallan Quest, Maker’s Mark, Rittenhouse Rye, Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve.

I hope this helps a little. Unfortunately, I looked at all the menus we have and none are specific with prices of their other brands.

Perfect, thankyou so much. Just trying to work out if it’s worth the drinks package, this helps a lot. Do they put the 20%on every drink you order rather than the package?? Thanks for your help

If you don’t buy a package, and buy drinks as you go, the gratuity is added on every drink. If you buy the package, there is a 20% gratuity added to the package during checkout, and you won’t pay anymore – UNLESS – the drink you order isn’t covered by the package, then you pay 20% on the difference of the price only.

Thankyou, It’s very strange because we’ve reserved the package and the 20%wasnt added, just wanted to check it wouldn’t be later. Really appreciate your help and advice.

That is strange, are you by chance outside of the US? On European and UK prices, the price includes gratuities (not separate line item during checkout like it is in the USA)

Yes,I did wonder if this was the case. Yes in uk

Where Can I Get Drinks Packages On Celebrity Cruises?

The best time to purchase your drinks packages is online before your cruise. Additionally, keep an eye out for special offers as Celebrity does send out email offers occasionally. However, you can also purchase a package or upgrade your package at any bar whilst on board.

On our last cruise, I booked the Classic Drinks Package but was unsure if I would prefer the Premium Drinks Package. The classic did not have Pellegrino included, and I was worried I might not like the wine.

Eventually, I made the decision that I would upgrade should I feel the need to once onboard. I am glad I decided, as the Classic Drinks package on Celebrity Cruises was perfectly fine. There was canned soda water which was a great alternative to sparkling water and the wine was lovely.

Celebrity Cruises Drinks Packages

Commonly Asked Questions About Celebrity Cruises Drinks Packages

Are the celebrity cruises packages worth the money.

If you look at the menus below you will be able to work out if the packages are good value for you.

As a rough example

  • Wine $9 a glass x 3 with dinner = $27
  • Soft drinks $4 a glass x5 = $20
  • cocktails $9 x3 = $27
  • Coffee ( you can also get in take-out cups) $5 x3 = $15

A grand total of $89.00 and that’s working on the classic drinks package prices. When we have this conversation with people they always rank the drink package value against the amount of alcoholic drinks they drink. However, it makes sense to also factor in speciality coffees, soft drinks and water if you intend to drink those too. Also, scroll to the bottom to see our drinks calculator.

Is Prosecco Included In The Celebrity Cruises Drink Packages?

Yes, certain brands of prosecco are included within the drinks packages.

Can You Use Your Celebrity Drinks Package In The Restaurants?

Yes, you can order drinks from your Celebrity Cruises drink packages in the restaurant. Being a wine drinker we thought we would need an additional wine package. However, we drank wine in all of the restaurants we dined in, and just like a package it was kept in a bucket near our table and refilled regularly.

We were also able to order beer and soft drinks in the restaurant as part of our package.

Does Everyone In Our Stateroom Need To Buy A Drink Package?

All guests wishing to purchase a Drink Package must do so for all guests of legal drinking age in the same cabin. Uk age 18 plus, US, age 21 plus. Additionally if one guest upgrades to the premium package all guests must upgrade.

What Is The Celebrity Cruises Drinks Package Limit?

There is officially no limit, although a member of staff can refuse to serve anyone they deem intoxicated to an unacceptable level.

Can You Take Wine On A Celebrity Cruise Ship?

What happens if I purchased the Premium Beverage Package and the beverage I would like is more than $17?

If you have the Premium Beverage Package or the Drinks and More Beverage Package and you would like a beverage that was more than $17 then you would simply pay the extra.

Can I get a full look of the wine list please?

I would like to see the complete wine list for the 21-22 cruise year. We are excited to cruise again and plan much wine on our sunset veranda. Cheers!

I will have a look and see if I can find it !

Title says “and Bar Menus” – Where’s all the menus? I can’t see any. Maybe change it to ‘and constant adverts’

Just don’t read, I really do wonder why some people are so nasty, there is a lot of useful info on this post the menus were removed as out of date and we like to provide updated info. The adverts are not excessive and nothing in life is free, the ads are a small way of us being paid for the hours we spend researching and money travelling in good faith to provide information to readers, mostly kind and nice people.  I will take you rudeness as you have had a bad day, because clearly being rude to others makes you feel good about yourself. The fact that you actually took time to comment a mean comment astounds me!

Bravo! I did have a question. The calculator, does it take in account the basic drink package so only the difference is being charged?

Thanks and thank you for the excellent report! We are taking the Panama Christmas cruise. Cant wait!

You are so welcome, and no it’s just the cost of the drinks to work out if you will spend the cost of the package; however, I do wish we had the software to do so. It would be awesome. Have a wonderful cruise. Sarah

I don’t drink alcohol wud I have to purchase package

it is generally for both in one cabin but if you you ring them and tell them you can normally change this

it is generally for both in one cabin but if you you ring them and tell them you can normally will change it for you

Can you please tell me the cost of a range of Sauvignon Blancs on Celebrity Edge, and also Jim Beam, and other bourbons ? Thank you.

The Sauvignon blanc on beyond is $9 so i would expect it to be similar and more than one type. Yes they have a selections of bourbons , Dewar’s White Label, Famous Grouse, Jim Beam, Johnnie Walker Red, Monkey Shoulder, Seagram’s VO.

Hi is it coke cola or Pepsi

Hi we think its coke as of the celebrity beyond’s menu

Thank you so much for this wonderful write-up. Very helpful!

Thanks so much Laura

Do they sell buckets of beer at a discount price?

They do sometimes do offer on the buckets yes but I couldn’t tell you what they were as didn’t buy one

If I just pay as I drink, is it just added to my room tab?

WHen i cruised on 23 March 2023 on the FLower Power Cruise, there were NO menus on paper and I was told to look online. That is a bit difficult when one is aleady on the ship, about to sail. THerewas considerable confusion among some of the Martini Bar bartenders day to day as to what was on my Classic Package list. They denied me Don Julio Tequila which was on my list, but they often poured Grey Goose in martinis when i know the cut off for vodka quality was at TIto’s vodka. ALso i ordered a lemon drop one martini one evening, and they said it was extra. Why would they not make it with the given vodka or gin on my package? It’s impossible to deal with these issues when ship is underway, 7 people are lined up behind you, and two other lines wait around the bar for the 2 other bartenders to serve thirsty patrons. I’d suggest those who plan to purchase an alcohol package print any and all menus and take those when you board the ship. I certainly will.

Thats so annoying we were on in July and the menus were available, I defo dont want to be looking on my phone for menus

A very useful web page, thanks. As a new cruiser, do you have to pay for coffee and tea at breakfast sittings on Celebrity?

Thanks so much, Jonathon; no you don’t tea and coffee is included at mealtime. You can upgrade to speciality ie cappuccino, but regular is included and in my opinion, tasted great.

Hi my wife doesnt drink but I do, can you purchase just one classic drinks package for a room with 2 adults and 2 children please?

Yes if you contact customer services you can explain and request.

Just home from the Edge, med cruise,. Everything was amazing, the food was to die for,the drinks amazing,u could order which brand u liked. Staff unreal, and so friendly, second cruise with Celebraty, almost surreal how good it was, cant wait to go back.

Fantastic information well put together. Thank you very much

Celebrity Cruises Drink Package: Ultimate Guide

' src=

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links. We may receive compensation when you purchase via my links at no cost to you. See my disclosure for more information.

When you sail with Celebrity Cruises, you no longer need to consider purchasing a drinks package. Every Celebrity cruise includes a drink package, gratuities, and basic Wi-Fi with the “Always Included” cruise fare.

Including the Celebrity Cruises drink package with the standard fare provides a more all-inclusive approach to cruising.

If the Classic package isn’t enough, you can always upgrade to the Premium drinks package, which includes higher-priced beverages, large martinis, and Champagne.

But is the drink package worth it on Celebrity Cruises?

We’ve got all the details and a simple calculator to help you decide if Celebrity Cruises drink packages are right for you.

Keep reading to learn all about the beverage packages, or click the link to visit the drink package calculator .

Table of Contents

Celebrity Cruises Drink Package

Celebrity Cruises offers four drink packages:

  • Classic Package: Starting at $89 per day
  • Premium Package: Starting at $109 per day
  • Zero Proof Drink Package: Starting at $30 per day

Classic Package

Celebrity Cruises’ Classic Beverage Package is popular among Celebrity guests.

The Classic package starts at $89 per person per day and includes the following up to $10 per drink:

  • Frozen drinks
  • Non-premium bottled water
  • Specialty coffees and teas
  • Vitamin Water

You receive a complimentary Classic drink package when you purchase the Celebrity Cruises “Always Included” cruise fare . The “all-inclusive” cruise fare includes the beverage package bundled with your cruise fare, among other extras.

The selection of beverages covered by the drinks package covers most of the beers and wines on the ship.

You also receive a 15% discount on bottles of wine.

What if you want to purchase a drink over $10?

It’s simple. If you want to purchase a drink that costs more than $10, you will only be charged the difference plus a 20% gratuity on the difference.

Premium Package

Celebrity cruise drink packages martini bar

The Premium Package is a good option if you want higher-priced drinks.

Premium Package starts at $109 per person per day and includes the following up to $15 per drink:

The premium package covers most drinks offered at the onboard bars and restaurants.

With the premium package, you also get a 20% discount on bottles of wine.

The normal price for the package is $109 per person per day. But, when you receive the Classic package as part of the Always Included fare, you can upgrade to the premium package for only $12 per person per day.

The premium drinks package is your best option for a truly all-inclusive experience on your Celebrity cruise.

Zero Proof Drink Package

Celebrity Cruises Drink Package kids beverage

The Zero Proof Drink Package is Celebrity Cruises’ non-alcoholic drink package.

The Zero Proof Drink Package starts at $30 per person per day and includes the following:

  • Zero-proof cocktails (Frozen & Non-Frozen)
  • Fresh squeezed juices
  • Premium coffees and teas
  • Bottled water

Is it Worth Upgrading to the Premium Beverage Package?

Passengers enjoying the Celebrity Cruises beverage package on the magic carpet bar

If you have the Classic drink package in your Always Included fare, you might wonder if it’s worth upgrading to the Premium beverage package.

Remember, if you have the Classic package, you can upgrade to the Premium drink package for $12 per person per day.

For most beer and wine drinkers, the upgrade to the premium package isn’t worth it because many of the included drinks are already included in the Classic Beverage Package.

There’s no benefit to upgrading unless you want to purchase higher-priced cocktails, beers, and fine wine.

I would only suggest upgrading if you want a particular brand or prefer to drink higher-priced beverages such as cocktails or gluten-free beer.

How to Upgrade to the Premium Beverage Packages

Bartender on a Celebrity Cruise Ship

So, you’ve received the Classic drink package with your Always Included fare but want to upgrade to the premium package. Now, how do you upgrade?

Celebrity Cruises allows guests to upgrade their drink package costs $12 per person per day.

The first way to upgrade your beverage packages is to upgrade only your drink packages from the Classic Beverage Package to the Premium Package.

After you upgrade, you will receive all of the benefits of the premium package.

But there is another way to upgrade that may save you more money in the long run.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to upgrade to the premium drinks package.

What is the Drinking Age on Celebrity Cruises?

The minimum drinking age on Celebrity Cruises that sail in North America is 21. The minimum drinking age for Celebrity cruises in South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand is 18.

Do Guests Under the Drinking Age Get the Classic Beverage Package?

Guests under the legal drinking age at the time of sailing will get the full benefits of the drinks package when purchasing the Always Included fare, except non-alcoholic beverages.

Can You Use Your Celebrity Drinks Package In The Restaurants?

Yes. You can use your Celebrity Cruises drink packages at the onboard restaurants, bars, and lounges.

Do Celebrity Cruises Drink Packages Limit the Number of Drinks You Can Order?

Unlike some cruise lines, Celebrity Cruises does not limit the number of drinks you can order daily . However, a bartender or staff member can refuse to serve anyone they deem intoxicated. Additionally, you can only purchase one drink at a time.

Can You Take Wine On A Celebrity Cruise Ship?

Yes. Celebrity Cruises allows passengers to bring up to two bottles of wine onboard the cruise ship per cabin on embarkation day . These bottles will be subject to a corkage fee. However, the corkage fee is cheaper than purchasing a bottle of wine on the ship.

This is only applicable to embarkation day. The cruise line will hold any alcohol brought on the ship during port days until the end of the voyage, when it is returned to you.

Many cruisers are surprised that you can bring alcohol on a cruise ship .

Does The Celebrity Drink Package Include Gratuities?

When you purchase the drink package, you need to pay gratuities. But, the gratuities are already included if you buy the Always Included cruise fare.

Does Every Person in the Stateroom Have to Purchase the Package?

If one person purchases a drink package, every guest of the legal drinking age must buy the same package.

If an adult purchases an alcoholic drink plan, guests between the ages of 13 and 20 must buy the Zero Proof Drink Package, while guests under 12 are not required to purchase any package.

Of course, purchasing a drink package is optional, but it is required that all adults sharing a cabin purchase the same beverage package.

Celebrity no longer offers the Elevate or Indulge Packages. These packages ended July 14, 2022. While they were a spectacular deal, it seems the cruise line would rather you spend your money piecemeal instead of on packages…

Good catch! I’ve removed mentions of the Elevate and Indulge package. It will be missed.

I have just booked through Cruise Nation to sail with Celebrity. They say that the drinks package is not included. I telephoned Celebrity and was told it was and to call back cruise nation. We did this and were told after contacting Celebrity the drinks package isn’t included. Most websites say it is, so how do I get this sorted? Thanks in advance.

The cruise fare you are referring to is Celebrity’s Always included fare. This price package includes the drink package, wifi, and gratuities in the base cost of the cruise. It appears that you might have booked the regular cruise fare that doesn’t include these extras.

Your best course of action is to contact Cruise Nation to get it sorted.

Does anyone have a list of or order form for the contents of the mini bar?  We are trying to decide if we will both add Drinks and More or just one of us.

This is what someone recently posted - they said that they weren't allowed to switch things on Drinks and More, but not sure if that continues to be true.

Tito's and Coke..sounds great. That was on the Equinox on my September cruise...didn't have the package that included the mini bar..so did not inquire about swapping them out.

There was room for more water though..so just got those at the bar and kept in the refrigerator..

Our room steward switched out Sprite for us as we wanted some caffeine free soft drinks.

Kind bars were being replaced on Edge with cheap, unimpressive, chewy granola bars. Nowhere near the quality of a Kind bar. Our steward was unsure if this was a temporary supply problem or yet another cutback.  Kind bar compared to the minibar granola bars provided on Edge:

Where can I go on a mini cruise in 2023 & 2024

Amsterdam, netherlands.

A true capital of culture, Amsterdam is a must-see city. Navigate its Golden age canals, explore the 'Dutch' way by bike, take in its vibrant arts scene, or venture out of the city and explore the Netherland's beautiful countryside and charming villages on our Amsterdam mini cruises.

Visit the Flower Auction at Aalsmeer

Immerse yourself in the fragrant aromas and dazzling colors, and learn about the sophisticated sorting process on the auction floor where millions of flowers are bought and sold daily.

Explore Amsterdam by boat

Amsterdam has more than 160 canals and 1,500 bridges and there's nothing like seeing a city from the water. Discover the central canal area, or “Canal Belt,” which was built in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, gliding by 400 year old warehouses, mansions and historic churches.

Discover iconic museums and galleries

Amsterdam has museums and galleries for every interest. From the Van Gogh museum boasting the largest collection of paintings by the artist to Anne Frank's house, to lesser know gems such as Electric Ladyland, dedicated to flourescent art.

Bruges, Belgium

Cities don’t get much prettier than Bruges. Picture quaint cobbled lanes, fairy tale spires and mirror-like canals; a place where photogenic market squares give way to networks of secretive streets. Of course, don't forget to sample the region's signature beer and chocolate on a short cruise to Bruges.

Learn the art of chocolate making

Celebrity Cruises joins the party at private Bahamas island CocoCay

Celebrity Cruises made its first trip to sister cruise line Royal Caribbean’s private Bahamas island CocoCay this week.

The popular destination is rife with bells and whistles that cater to the adventuresome set that frequent Royal Caribbean ships, but the island is filled with tastes for all, including a new adults-only beachfront area called Hideaway Beach.

Celebrity Reflection was the first ship to visit on April 22 followed by Celebrity Beyond on April 23, both part of five-night western Caribbean sailings departing from Port Everglades, part of new shorter itineraries being offered by the premium cruise brand. Sailings also visit Bimini, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Key West.

“Guest feedback inspired the new shorter Caribbean itineraries, designed to offer year-round opportunities to unwind with loved ones,” said Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge in a press release. “Introducing Perfect Day at CocoCay presents new experiences for Celebrity guests seeking quick beach getaway escapes close to home.”

Once known as just Little Stirrup Cay, Royal Caribbean now calls it Perfect Day at CocoCay, which received a $250 million overhaul first in 2019 adding a 13-slide water park including the 135-foot-tall Devil’s Peak that is one of seven slides on the castle-like tower that acts as an icon that can be seen from around the 125-acre resort.

It also added a dock that allows for two ships to come alongside instead of having to take day visitors with tender vessels. Nearby Great Stirrup Cay, which is used primarily by Norwegian Cruise Line, still relies on tenders, but recently announced it too would build a ship dock.

It also features a colorful helium balloon ride called Up, Up and Away that takes passengers up 450 feet on the rare calm days it’s not too windy, a 1,600-foot zip line and the largest wave pool in the Caribbean.

Those fall under the “Thrill” side of the island, but there’s plenty on the “Chill” side as well, including the Coco Beach Club, which includes a series of over-water cabanas with hammocks and personal slides plus more beachside cabanas, an infinity pool and a higher-end Mediterranean dining venue.

The newest feature on the island, though, opened in January. Hideaway Beach is the first part of the island to be kid-free. It has its own private beach and lagoon, two pools, seven food and drink locations and 20 cabanas.

Spending time at Hideaway Beach is designed to be an all-day experience at an extra charge for those 18 and older. Prices start at $39-$89 per person depending on sail date with the 20 cabanas available for an additional rate.

The space includes the al fresco On the Rocks bar with live musicians, live sports on TV and even a pool table and shuffleboard with great views of the dock along the island’s rocky shore.

The lagoon is surrounded by loungers, hammocks and in-water swingsets while the Hideaway Bar is the central swim-up bar in the main pool while there are two full-service Beach Bars on either side of the area as well.

Sky Suite Mini Bar

Cool Cruiser

A regularly asked question that I don't have time to search.

Quite simply, I know that the mini bar is not included in all room categories, but how about if you're in a Sky Suite? On our Oceania cruise, we were able to request caffeine free diet Coke in our room fridge, which raises two questions...

1. Can we make a similar request? and

2. Is any of it included in the suite experience?

It isn’t supposed to be included but our Retreat Host/Butler on Apex in July offered to - we certainly didn’t ask but she asked which beers and sodas we wanted and she kept it stocked up.

In a Sky Suite you will find an itemized price list with the prices for the alcohol, sodas and snack items.  You certainly can politely ask that your retreat host stock the mini-bar with caffeine free diet Coke and there is a good probability they will do so.

My experience is that it depends on the Butler you have.   Officially anything in the minibar is al a carte and there is a price list on the counter.    On a number of cruises our butler said to feel free to use anything in the minibar and he would not charge us for it.   He also accepted requests for San Pelligrino.

His philosophy was that we had a Premium Drink Package and access to retreat so why should we have to pay for things when we could pick them up ourselves in Retreat in put in our refrigerator.   It of course earned him extra gratuities.

You can pick up water,  canned soft drinks,  beer from the Retreat Lounge and take them to your mini bar.  We regularly would pick up bottles of water to keep in our suite.

On Millennium now in Sky Suite. My butler told me mini bar not included but he would get me any drink if I wished.

Like I said it is variable by Butler.  LOL   The butler that gave us free access a couple weeks ago was on Millennium.  He indicated he has been a butler on Celebrity for 12 years and many of the newer butler follow the rules to the T but he uses common sense.

Wow!  Great butler.  We were told that he had too many rooms to handle as soon as we met him.  Even another couple in a higher suite said the butler really did nothing that a room stewart could do.  I am hopeful that it has changed.  However, I heard this from a number of passengers in Lumanae where everyone discusses services.

We really don't use a butler very much and he was stopping by all the time to see if he could do anything for us.   He was exceptional and I believe he is now taking care of the PH's .    We did use him quite a bit for laundry as we get free laundry and hadn't had any done on the previous sector.   He insisted on taking my dinner jacket to be pressed before Chic night and brought us afternoon snacks even though we asked him not to... just too much food.

It is disappoint to hear of the lack of service.   I know that just as we were leaving prior to the Panama Canal crossing they had a change of about 50% of the staff.  Maybe there was a drop in service due to new crew getting accustomed to their new jobs.   Our butler had started on our second leg after coming out of quarantine.

I do not have an answer to the original question but I just wanted to mention that the items in the Sky Suite minibar are complementary if every adult in the suite has a Drinks & More Package.  Since most people who cruise in suites already have a Premium Drink Package, they can upgrade to Drinks & More for a very modest price and, as a bonus that may cover most of the upgrade cost, they get a $50 casino credit.  If you do upgrade to Drinks & More, then the mini-bar will be replenished daily so it seems likely that modest requests will be attended to.

We were in a sky suite on Equinox in October and our butler said we could drink anything in the minibar except the bottles of vodka. He kept it supplied with soda, water and beer for us.

Holiday Sharing

I wonder how much is up to the discretion of the butler and how much is the directive of the suite manager?

When you get varying levels of service it is confusing for the guests and could reflect negatively on the butler unfairly if he is simply following orders…

OP, I suggest if you only want coke to speak to your butler day one and if he says the minibar is not included ask him to empty it for you then….

If the first few days you make a trip or two via the lounge on the way to your room or via any bar and ask them not to open the cans you won’t find it a big deal.

I do worry about the work load of butlers (retreat hosts). You only need a couple of demanding guests. I also worry about guests often not knowing that you can ring your butler for coffee or arrange additional snacks. Then these guests towards the end of the cruise feel disgruntled because they have spoken to someone else who has asked (and consequently) received more….Same possibly true about mini bars, they sort for those who ask but don’t offer the service for others. As the shoreside concierge is now contacting more SS guests pre cruise perhaps offering an initial set up of soda/beer of preference would make everyone’s life easier….

I got tired of scavenging San Pelligrino from the bars.I finally asked our retreat host whether they no longer stocked the fridge because she had not offered on by about day 2. At that point, she said we could whatever we wanted. She gladly restocked with water, San pelligrino and one coke a day. We don’t drink hard liquor in the cabin so liquor wasn’t and issue. We aren’t high maintenance but it was aggravating not to be asked.

My butler did let me know to drink as much of the Evian on the counter that I wanted and he'd keep that replenished. And has.

Good to know - and some bad too! I'm not a big drinker (of alcohol) and my DW is pretty much tee total, so it's really water and soda. Looks like I'll need to locate our butler and see what he/she'll do.

Thanks, everyone for the responses.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding?  We are staying in a Celebrity Suite and receive the Premium Drink Package.  The price to upgrade to Drinks and More package is $75 per day per passenger.  We are on a 9 night cruise.  We would just want the mini bar stocked.

No you are definitely understanding this.  I fail to see any value in the Drinks & More.  So $150 per day for the two passengers just to have a few drinks from your mini-bar?  Especially when you have the premium package and can go to any bar and bring drinks back to your room.  And your butler will usually keep sodas and beers for you in the mini bar too.  And you have The Retreat.  And you can bring two bottles of wine on board.

That's the full price--not the upgrade price. The upgrade from premium should be about $9pp/pd.

Yes correct.  The web site lists D&M at $85 pp/day and Premium at $69 pp/day.  So if you have Premium with your SS or CS, then perhaps it is $16 pp/day?  Or is that discounted too?  Anybody done this recently?  Anyway I still don't see a lot of value in it unless you get drinks from your mini bar several times a day and don't use the bars and the Retreat.

$9.00 p/day to upgrade is correct.  And remember, you get $50.00 pp casino credit and free wine tasting event.  You also get large bottles of wine, two red and two white.  Poor quality but we doctored up with Sprite and made wine coolers.  You get Pringles and a power bar (2 each) and everything is replaced daily.  SOOOOO.... you get , when two are paying, four full bottles of wine, sodas and beer of your choice, two small bottles of wine (in frig), 4 small bottles Tito's Vodka, 2 pringles, 2 power bar, $50.00 each in casino credit and wine tasting....Has worked for us really well.  Didn't have to worry about hauling stuff back to cabin.  and oh yes, forgot, your bottles of water are also replaced daily.

Do you realize that the restocking of the minibar is certainly not a defined benefit for a Sky Suite, without the purchase of the Drink and More package?  I would have thought that you would have been pleased that he did it for you anyway, when you asked.

Others have answered your questions and can you some suggestions.

My wife and I also drink CFDC.  I recommend that you pick up some cans from various locations and stock them in your cabin.  Sometimes CFDC is hard to find especially towards the end of the cruise.

ETHTrader

Currently in a Sky Suite on Apex.

My Retreat Host offered to stock the mini fridge with anything I want as long as the beverages are normally covered by your Premium Drink package. (As others have mentioned, this might be YMMV. If you have an experienced host, they will offer to stock the fridge without additional charges) So no need to really buy extra Drink package for the mini bar unless you end up with a host who sticks to the rules.

Best Rooftop Bars (Restaurants) in Moscow

These are 7 Best Rooftop Bars in Moscow

We are looking for the best rooftop bars Moscow’s. Another winter is in the books and Moscow’s citizens are looking to spend as much time outdoors as possible. In this period Moscow transforms itself into an outdoor city filled with trendy destinations to enjoy long days and cool nights. Indeed, as the sky in Moscow is one of the most astonishing that I’ve ever seen, summer here is all about rooftop terraces with fantastic views.

Here is a selection of the coolest bars and restaurants on top of Moscow’s sprawling buildings.

Yes, you can find terraces much higher up but if you prefer a more charming riverside view to a skyline – this is the one for you.

Luckily, Moscow’s pub scene has been expanding rapidly over the past several years, and you're sure to find your favorite atmosphere in the following list of Moscow’s top 10 bars and pubs, all of which are easily reachable by the Metro system or by taxi.
