Private VIP Tour at Walt Disney World

Your guide to walt disney world’s most expensive and exclusive tour – a private vip tour .

Through our travel agency (Wish Upon a Star with Us Travel) Brittany and I, along with her parents, were able to take a private Walt Disney World VIP tour. We had the most amazing experience and want to share all of the details with you!

Our Disney World VIP Tour

What is a Private VIP Tour?

A VIP tour is a private guided tour at Walt Disney World. A VIP Tour will take your experience to the next level. It includes a first class level of service, skipping the lines and getting whisked away in a luxury vehicle; all with your own private guide for the day. Entrances to the parks and waiting in line for attractions? Don’t worry about those! Your guide will escort you through private entrances to select rides and drop you off “behind the scenes”. This allows you to save time when moving around the parks AND makes you feel like a VIP.

Have you ever wondered how the Hollywood elite visit Disneyland and Walt Disney World? Well this is it!

The Basics:

  • Completely customized itinerary for your family
  • Highly Knowledgeable Disney VIP Tour Guide
  • Flexible start time with a minimum time required (see below)
  • Backstage access
  • Ability to skip the lines for just about any experience at Walt Disney World
  • Private vehicle to take you where you please
  • Private VIP access to special firework viewing areas

VIP Tours Include:

  • Pre-planning services
  • Skip the line access
  • Transportation once your tour starts
  • VIP guide
  • Some snacks and bottled water

VIP Tours Do Not Include:

  • Park Tickets
  • Parking

 Things to Know

  • All VIP tours require a valid theme park ticket and a Park Pass reservation. If you plan on doing multiple parks in your VIP tour, you will need to have a Park Hopper ticket. Upon arrival at your first park of the day you will scan your ticket/MagicBand and be set for the rest of the day!
  • All private VIP tours have a minimum tour duration of 7 continuous hours. You can add extra time onto this, up to a maximum of 10 hours.
  • Private Disney World VIP tours allow up to 10 guests per guide including infants. If your party is larger than that, you will need to book a second VIP tour guide.

How much does a Private VIP tour cost at Walt Disney World?

The prices change depending on the season, but guests can expect to pay $425 to $850 an hour. During peak travel times (like the winter holidays and spring break) expect that price to be at or near the top. If you want to keep costs on that lower end, we recommend traveling during non-peak times. Prices can vary by the week, but we generally recommend September, January, and February as some good off-peak times.

  • Do I need to tip my Disney VIP Tour Guide?

You are not required to tip, but it is customary. The general recommendation would be to tip 10-20% of your tour cost.

  • The level of service you will experience on a Disney World VIP tour is second to none. The day is designed around you and your family. If you want to ride Dumbo all day, then that is what your guide is going to make happen. Want to get from one section of the park to another? Backstage entrances and otherwise Cast Member-only areas become your golden ticket to getting across the parks effortlessly. That gets you to riding your next attraction quickly!

Our Disney VIP Tour Experience

Our Disney World VIP Tour

During our VIP tour we chose to visit 3/4 parks. We felt like we got to do so much because of how fast we got to attractions! Our guide picked us up at the Polynesian, where we were staying. He escorted us to a black SUV that was waiting to whisk us away. This is something I had never experienced at Walt Disney World before! I will warn you, once you experience a Disney VIP tour you won’t want to go back to the normal way of experiencing the parks! These tours will change the way you want to experience the parks going forward.

Being the Disney veterans we are, we knew exactly which rides we wanted to hit and the order. If you are family that hasn’t experienced Walt Disney World or maybe has not been in quite some time, a VIP guide is right there ready to help make recommendations. Not only that, but throw out that park map; your guide is going to escort you in the quickest way possible to those rides so there is no worry about navigating the parks. This is extremely helpful to my traveling families, especially those who worry about missing something during their visit to Walt Disney World.

Hollywood Studios

We headed to Hollywood Studios first, where we were dropped off at the back side of Sunset Boulevard. We were greeted by Cast Members holding baskets full of snacks for us! Chocolate, starbursts, chips, you name it! They also scanned our MagicBands for entry to the park. We grabbed some snacks and bottled water and headed into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster through a back entrance. The first time walking into a Disney park not through a main entrance is a surreal experience, one I hope many of you get to experience firsthand for yourselves. No photos are allowed in any of these backstage areas so it’s not something many ever get to see.

After doing the highlights at Hollywood Studios, we headed over to Epcot. We hopped back in our SUV and entered through a backstage area near Test Track. Ever wondered how they fix up those cars? A lot of it is done right there behind the ride. We could see them working on some of the cars in their own little shops! After Test Track, we exited once again and drove to a back entrance of the World Showcase to ride Frozen. It’s pretty cool to get to see what the other side of the parks look like. During these tours, you really do get to see how Disney makes some of the magic come to life. Again we drove instead of walking across the park to get to Soarin’, getting to see yet another backstage area.

Animal Kingdom

After leaving Epcot, we ended our day with going over to Animal Kingdom. Our plan was to finish out our tour with a ride on Kilimanjaro Safari and Flight of Passage. We actually ended up having time to do Flight of Passage twice! When our guide parked near Festival of the Lion King, we got to see yet another backstage area. We even saw some performers doing their warm ups for the show! All throughout the day, our guide also shared tips and fun facts with us.

Ready to Plan a Walt Disney World VIP Tour?

All in all, we had probably the most magical day at Walt Disney World we could have ever asked for. There was no stress, no planning, no worry. With how much planning I do for my clients on a daily basis, I can definitely say this is by far the best way to experience a truly-hassle free day at Walt Disney World.

If those price points aren’t in your budget but you still want an expert’s help in planning your amazing visit to Walt Disney World, you can fill out a contact form here . Whether or not you are planning to do a VIP tour, we strongly encourage having a Travel Advisor in your corner. We help with all the other details, like selecting the perfect resort for your family, transportation, park details, and will even help with setting up your VIP tour itself. I help hundreds of families a year make the most of their vacations and I want to help you do the same! My planning services are complimentary for all guests who book through their trip with me.

I did a VIP tour at Disney World that cost $4,000 for 10 people, and it was totally worth it

  • As a Disney travel planner , I've booked VIP extras for my clients, but I decided to try one myself.
  • I took a one-day private tour of Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, which cost $4,000 for 10.
  • The experience was incredible, and I definitely think it's worth it to try a VIP tour at least once.

Insider Today

As a travel planner at Marvelous Mouse Travels , I've booked a number of VIP tours for clients. But I'd never experienced one myself.

On a recent trip, I was lucky enough to tag along on a friend's $4,000 private tour.

The day started with a chauffeured ride to Hollywood Studios

Our tour guide picked us up from our Disney World hotel in a private van and whisked us away to Hollywood Studios.

The Disney tour guides have special entrances into the parks to expedite the process, so we entered near Tower of Terror and headed straight to our favorite attractions .

Our guide was the perfect mix of fun, informative, and laid-back. He asked about our preferences and was sensitive to the needs of everyone in the group. Plus, he had insider knowledge when rides weren't functioning and quickly changed our plans if needed.

The best part about the private tour was the ability to access the expedited Lightning Lanes for all attractions — especially for the most popular rides like Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad.

Related stories

Our wait times throughout the day were minimal, and we didn't even have to be on our phones securing Genie+ selections or monitoring wait times.

Our next stop was Magic Kingdom for more rides and nighttime fireworks

A private VIP tour is not for the faint of heart. To get the most out of the experience, your day is jam-packed.

Within a few hours, we rode all of the main attractions at Hollywood Studios and headed to the Magic Kingdom via private transfer.

The Disney geek in me loved being backstage near Main Street USA, and although no pictures were allowed, I'll never forget seeing the small glimpse behind the magic.

We were visiting during a very busy week, so our guide suggested we order a complimentary lunch provided by the VIP tour instead of waiting for a quick-service meal . We took a break on the lawn in front of the castle to enjoy it, and it was absolutely delicious.

Then we quickly rode several rides — some with special VIP access, including Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion. And we even got to ride some of our favorite attractions twice in a row.

Another major perk is having special viewing areas for the parades and nighttime fireworks. We enjoyed both during the tour.

Our guide presented us with Mickey ice-cream bars while we watched the parade from the top of the Main Street train station.

Then we finished the day with another round of frozen treats while we marveled at our perfect view of Cinderella Castle for Disney Enchantment Nighttime Spectacular.

Despite the high cost, I think a VIP tour is totally worth it for Disney fans

A private VIP tour at Disney World is costly — about $4,000 a day for a maximum of 10 people. And you still have to pay for a regular theme-park ticket on top of that, which usually costs between $100 and $200.

But the personalized service, exclusive experiences, fast-tracked ride access, and VIP treatment make the adventure worth it in my mind.

Watch: Disney World is getting so expensive that it's pricing out the middle class

Everything you need to know about Disney Private VIP Tours!

disney private vip tours

If you have ever been to the Walt Disney World Parks, you’ve probably seen those cast members in plaid walking around the park with a family, getting them to the front of the lines or handing out Disney snacks and telling magical stories, all while making you wonder who are they and how are they so important? Well, that was a Disney Private VIP tour guide, and recently my team and I got to experience this Magical Disney tour, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Guests are able to purchase a Disney World Private VIP tour allowing them their own personal guide to navigate the parks, provide insights and history, and most importantly bypass the standby lines!

The team at Disney VIP Tour Services will plan the most efficient, enjoyable way for groups of up to 10 guests to see and do the things on your list. Just tell your personal VIP Tour Guide what you’d like to see, and they’ll customize your day to your desire!

After being picked up from our Walt Disney World Resort in a private vehicle, my team and I received unparalleled hospitality as we got to enjoy some of our favorite attractions alongside our VIP Tour Guides.

Since our group was more than 10, we had 2 guides for the day, which made our time even more enjoyable as everyone in the group got the chance to talk and learn more about the hidden secrets and tips. Our guides Ryan and Kayla were amazing, they’ve both been cast members for several years and had such fun stories about their experiences at the Disney parks.

We started our day with a pickup from our Disney Resort hotel at 9am, we headed right to Magic Kingdom where we were greeted by cast members with snacks and water. Out guides brought us into the park through a private back entrance and walked us onto 4 of the top rides, including TRON Lightcycle / Run!

disney private vip tours

After Magic Kingdom we were escorted back out a private entrance where our air-conditioned chauffer was waiting, along with MORE Disney snacks, this time Mickey Ice Cream bars…. perfect for this hot summer day.

Some of the personalized services include:

Pre-arrival planning A flexible start time, picked by you. Visits to multiple theme parks* in one or more days The ability to enjoy some of your favorite attractions efficiently. Shared insight from your highly knowledgeable VIP Tour Guide throughout your tour *All VIP Tours require valid theme park admission, which is not included in the price of the tour

Our next park was Hollywood Studios, where we were again greeted with cast members sharing water and salty snacks! We headed right for the top rides like Rise of the Resistance, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror.

Our guides were the perfect mix of fun, informative, and laid-back. They took the time to get to know us and asked about our preferences and they were incredibly sensitive to the needs of everyone in the group, it was such a hot day, so they made sure we were hydrated and comfortable. After our last ride in the park, they spoiled us once more, this time with Mickey Pretzel’s and cheese! It was a magical and appreciated treat.

disney private vip tours

Our final stop of the day was Epcot! And oh boy, was this amazing to see the backside of the park, we literally drove past each country and got to see the behind the scenes of it all, that alone was worth being on this VIP experience. We drove right to SOARIN, got out of our vehicle, walked through a back door and like Disney Magic we were at SOARIN. After the ride we walked back out to our vehicle and then driven to the other side of the park where we got dropped off and rode the new Guardians of the Galaxy TWICE! That was AMAZING!

Having the opportunity to ride one of the newest and most popular attractions at Walt Disney World, two times back-to-back as really awesome, actually the fact that we rode so many of the top rides in one day was the best experience and worth every penny, in my opinion.

We ended our day feeling excited and fulfilled! The best part is that your VIP experience can be completely customized to what you want to do. Prior to arrival I was given the opportunity to speak with the VIP team to plan my start and end time as well as the parks and rides we wanted to experience, the guides are such professionals they knew every detail to work in and how to time it, so we didn’t miss a thing, they even came prepared with ponchos and back up plans in case of bad weather, thankfully we did not encounter any.

VIP Disney Tours

You always feel like a VIP when visiting Walt Disney World, but did you know that you can actually take tours that bring you behind the scenes of the magic? There are 8 VIP Disney tours available at the parks and today, I’m going to cover all of them.

Let’s jump right into the magic!

What is a Disney VIP Tour?

But first – what is a Disney VIP tour? Walt Disney World’s website describes them as “…adventure(s) that include door-to-door service and an array of personalized perks.”

Well that’s pretty vague, right? Believe it or not, that’s kind of the point. Disney likes to keep their VIP tours pretty close to the vest because they don’t want to spoil any of the magic. That’s why many of the tours don’t allow photography or videography (much to every Disney influencer’s chagrin).

Despite Disney’s preference for keeping things pretty vague, a Disney VIP tour is one that basically takes you to places around the parks that aren’t generally accessible to the average guests.

For example, even though you can see a great deal from Epcot’s Living With the Land, you get a whole new perspective when you’re actually walking through the ride on their Behind the Seeds Tour. This includes things like sampling different food, being able to actually look down into their aquaponics farms, and asking questions to a tour guide so you learn something that may not be readily offered through the ride’s pre-recorded audio.

This is just one example, though. But it gives you an idea of Disney’s VIP tours and their unique offerings. In simple terms, a Disney VIP tour allows you to break the fourth wall of Disney magic.

What Does the VIP Tour at Disney Include?

To answer this, we have to first acknowledge that there are several different types of Disney VIP tours. The available Disney tours include the following:

Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour

Behind the seeds, wilderness back trail adventure, savor the savanna, caring for giants, up close with rhinos, starlight safari at disney’s animal kingdom lodge.

  • Disney Private VIP Tours

Out of all the tours on this list, Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour is one of my favorites! This is a 5-hour walking tour around Magic Kingdom that gives you backstage access to the famous Utilidors, where Cast Members get ready and access different areas of the parks. While you won’t have free reign in this area, it’s pretty cool to experience.

In addition to seeing the Utilidors, you’ll learn insider secrets and trivia of the park, eat lunch, and discover overlooked details of the park, as well as some of the more harder-to-notice Hidden Mickeys. When the tour is over, you’ll receive an exclusive keepsake to remember your cherished memories.

Read more: Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Walt Disney World

Tour Guide on Behind the Seeds Tour

Heading over to Epcot, you can experience the behind-the-seeds magic of the famous Living with the Land ride.

Another one of my personal favorites, this tour takes you backstage of the ride so you can see how the plants are grown through the area’s hydroponic system – aka how plants are grown without soil.

You’ll also be able to get up close and personal with their aquaponics farm, which features freshwater shrimp, tilapia, and catfish. You’ll even be given some fruit to try – but I’ll leave what fruit it is as a surprise because it’s worth experiencing for yourself with no spoilers.

Read more: A Review of Epcot’s Behind the Seeds Tour

Have you been wanting to ride a Segway? If so, you’re in luck because that’s exactly what you’ll get to do on this fun, outdoor Wilderness Back Trail Adventure!

Located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, this experience takes you on a 2-hour Segway tour on woodland trails that wrap around Bay Lake and Tri-Circle-D Ranch. If you’ve never been on a Segway before, no worries, because you’ll receive a 30-minute training, along with time to practice.

Because Segways are being used and have weight limits, interested guests must weigh between 100-250 pounds in order to partake in this tour.

Read more: 10 Weird Disney World Things to Do

This is one of the more costly experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park , but one that offers breathtaking views you won’t find anywhere else on property.

The tour starts at the Harambe Wildlife Reserve in the Africa section of the park. From there, you’ll get a chance to learn more about the wildlife in the area from a knowledgeable tour guide. During this tour, you’ll be able to sample regional wine and beer offerings and African-inspired food.

Like the Starlight Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Savor the Savanna tour does require you to get into a safari vehicle and travel over rugged terrain, so guests are expected to be in good health.

VIP Disney Tours 3

This is a relatively short experience, but worth it if you or anyone in your party loves elephants. Caring for Giants is a 60-minute experience that will offer you and your party insight into how the animals are cared for.

While you won’t be able to get so close to the elephants that you can touch them, you’ll be able to stand as little as 80 feet away, giving you a great view of these majestic creatures. Even though this isn’t a tour in the traditional sense, it’s a magical extra that can add great memories to your trip.

Rhino Disney Animal Kingdom

Like Caring for Giants, Up Close with Rhinos is another 60-minute experience that gives you insight into these creatures.

This insight includes everything from how they act, their biology, and the different challenges facing these animals in the wild. Because they’re trying to protect the animals, no photography or videography is allowed on this tour.

This is one of the more unique tours offered at Walt Disney World and it’s only available to guests 8 years old and up. During this tour, you’ll be given night vision goggles to see what your favorite animals, such as zebras, antelopes, and giraffes are up to after the sun goes down. This unique tour takes you across the savannas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. It lasts approximately one hour.

Just like on Kilimanjaro Safaris, those who have heart disease, motion sickness, and back/neck problems, should not partake in this experience as you will be driving over some pretty rough terrain.

Disney Private VIP Tour

If you’re interested in booking a private VIP tour, the first thing you should know is that it doesn’t come with a list of standard services and/or experiences, which is what makes this such a unique tour.

Rather than having a specified list of things to check off, a private VIP tour allows you and up to 10 guests to customize your day. Want to skip “it’s a small world”? Just let your tour guide know and they’ll whisk you off to another ride.

These private VIP tours allow you to ride pretty much every ride there is in Walt Disney World. You’ll be able to visit more than one park per day (with the purchase of a ParkHopper ticket), get insight into the history of the parks (and even on some rides), and transportation that allows you to skip the public areas.

When you book a Disney private VIP tour, your tour guide will pick you and your party up in a private vehicle. Once at the parks, you’ll also be able to have reserved seating for all the shows, including the Festival of Fantasy parade and end-of-the-night fireworks. If you opt for this magical tour, keep in mind that you must book at least a 7-hour tour.

Do Disney Tours Require a Park Ticket and/or Reservation?

Yes. Do not book your Disney tour unless you already have a valid theme park ticket and park reservation. These are required for all tours given at the Disney theme parks.

Is Photography/Videography Allowed on a Disney Tour?

It depends on the tour. Photography and videography are strictly prohibited in certain parts of a Disney VIP tour, as well as many other tours mentioned on this list, including inside the Utilidors on the Keys to the Kingdom tour. This rule strictly applies to any “backstage” areas.

For example, you cannot take photos or record video while on the Up Close with Rhinos tour because it’s all considered “backstage.” However, you will be able to snap a few photos in the non-backstage areas of the Caring for Giants tour.

If you have questions about whether or not you can take photos in a specific spot, it’s recommended that you ask your tour guide. However, they will be pretty on top of telling you when you can and can’t snap photos.

How Much Does a VIP Disney Ticket Cost?

The cost of a Disney VIP ticket varies on the type of tour it is. For a private VIP tour, it’ll cost you anywhere from $450-$900 an hour, per person.

Here’s a breakdown of how much each Disney VIP tour ticket costs. Keep in mind that none of these prices include tax:

  • Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour: $114/per person
  • Behind the Seeds: $35/per person
  • Wilderness Back Trail Adventure: $90/per person
  • Savor the Savanna: $147.90 – $174/per person
  • Caring for Giants: $35/per person
  • Up Close with Rhinos: $45/per person
  • Starlight Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: $75.65 – $89/per person

How Far in Advance Should I Book a Disney VIP Tour?

Ideally, you’ll want to book a Disney VIP tour at the same time you’re booking all your other dining and park passes, as slots do fill up just as quickly as park reservations. However, depending on when you are making these reservations, it may not be feasible to book. Reservations for Disney tours open up 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival. It’s recommended that you make your reservation as soon as this window opens up.

Of course, just like with anything at Disney, it doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find some availability 60 days or less out from your scheduled trip, but it will lower the availability the longer you wait to book.

How Hard is it to Book a Disney VIP Tour?

VIP Disney Tours 4

Not very hard! Booking your tour experience varies on what kind of tour you’re looking to book.

The only tour that really requires you to call in place of booking a reservation through Disney’s website is a private VIP tour because you’ll need to speak to a tour guide to customize your experience. As such, to book a private VIP tour, you’ll have to call (407) 560-4033 to make a reservation.

Everything else you can conveniently book online. However, like passes to Mickey’s-Not-So-Scary Halloween-Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you’ll have to pay in full at checkout. This isn’t like booking a park and resort package that allows you to make payments. All magical extras need to be paid for in advance to secure a spot.

How Much to Tip Your Disney VIP Tour Guide

Generally speaking, you’ll want to tip your Disney VIP tour guide 20% of your total costs. Of course, you can feel free to tip them more for great service, but you shouldn’t go any lower than this tip percentage.

Are Disney Private VIP Tours Worth It?

In my opinion, yes, Disney private VIP tours are worth it, especially if you’ve been visiting the parks a lot. These tours allow you to get a glimpse of what goes on “behind the magic,” allowing you to experience something you ordinarily wouldn’t be able to if you were just visiting the parks like any other guest.

Furthermore, even though they can be expensive, they’re a great way to see and do everything you want to do on your trip with little to no wait. Depending on the time of year you’re visiting, it’s very likely that you can complete all the rides and stage shows you want at two parks on the same day – and that’s just not something that’s usually possible without this VIP experience.

If you’re looking to try something new, giving these tours a try is highly recommended.

It may seem like a dream. A shiny black SUV arrives at your Disney World hotel. Out steps a private Disney VIP tour guide, and soon you’re off on your own personal adventure through Disney World parks. No lines, no waiting and royal magical treatment fit for a prince or princess.

As a travel agent specializing in Disney vacations , it’s incumbent upon me to try as much as Disney has to offer firsthand, to help my clients plan the best Disney World vacation . So, when a friend offered me the chance to join her on a VIP tour of Disney World, I certainly wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity.

While a Disney VIP tour certainly sounds like an elite experience, you may wonder if it really lives up to travelers’ expectations, and more importantly, is it worth the cost? I’ll answer these questions and more as I delve into my recent experience in this Disney World VIP tour review.

Table of Contents

What is a disney vip tour.

In case you’ve heard of a Disney VIP tour but aren’t quite certain what one entails, let’s start with the basics. A Disney VIP tour is a paid, premium experience at Disney World for travelers with deep pockets or anyone who would like a little extra vacation splurge.

Disney VIP tours are designed to whisk you out of the typical park experience into a more magical world where you wait in fewer lines, get access to Disney secrets, walk through backstage areas, and of course, wait in much shorter lines.

How Does a Disney VIP Tour Work?

disney vip tour follow helen

When embarking on a VIP tour to Disney World, you’ll be assigned your own personal tour guide, whose job it is to see that your visit to Disney parks is magical and filled with enchanted wonder. The Disney VIP tour experience includes:

  • Private pick up at your hotel. Smaller groups can enjoy the comfort of a decked-out SUV. Larger groups will travel in a passenger van.
  • Snacks and drinks upon pick up and throughout the day.
  • Personal escort through the parks and onto rides.
  • Personal service, including assistance with park planning and tips to make your day more enjoyable.

Parties of up to 10 guests may book a Disney VIP tour, though you could certainly make this a solo experience or include a party of a smaller size. VIP tours are booked for a minimum of 7 hours and a maximum of 10.

You’ll be charged an hourly rate and billed for the first 7 hours 2 days prior to your tour. You have up until that time to cancel, or you’ll be charged the equivalent of a 2-hour rate.

Once on the tour, you may add additional hours up to the maximum of ten hours. This flexibility is great for accommodating a full slate of plans without having to worry about running out of time. However, if you want to stick to a certain timeframe, your tour guide will offer guidance to keep your day on track.

A Disney World VIP Tour Review: Our Personal Experience

Since I’m offering an overview of my personal experience here, I’ll say one thing up front in this Disney World VIP tour review: It’s an exhausting experience. Fun and magical, yes, but plan on being very tired by the day’s end.

Here’s what we experienced on our VIP tour:

The Disney VIP Tour Hotel Pickup

Every Disney VIP tour includes personal pickup at your Disney hotel or any other location you choose. Our personal VIP tour began when our tour guide, the amazing Helen, pulled up in a white passenger van.

Since we were looking for a nice luxury SUV, we were a little surprised (and disappointed?) but had to be realistic. Our group consisted of 8 adults and 2 children. That’s 10 total passengers, and we just weren’t going to fit into even the largest SUV. And that was fine, since Helen’s engaging personality made it clear from the start that she was going to do everything she could to ensure we had the best day in the parks, regardless of how we got there.

Helen began by introducing herself and speaking with our party lead, Sandy. While I, as a travel agent, had booked the tour for our party, Sandy was the planner behind it. She told me the parks she wanted to visit when I booked the tour with Disney, so I was able to convey these details at that time. Helen spent a few minutes confirming these plans and then helped us all get loaded into the van, even pulling out a stool for easier step up into the interior.

Guests of a Disney World VIP tour get into the van during pickup at their hotel.

She chatted amiably with us throughout the drive to Hollywood Studios , our first park of the day. She offered little tidbits of information about the tour and little pieces of breaking news as she drove. It was hard to hear her in the back of the van, but we all appreciated her spirit and the bits of wisdom we were able to catch.

Arriving at Disney Hollywood Studios—Our First Park of the Day

If you’re thinking a Disney VIP tour guide is going to pull into the regular parking lot and drop you off at a magical location exclusive to tour guests, it gets better than that. Helen drove into a gated backstage area for our first stop, where several cast members were waiting.

They enthusiastically greeted us and offered us a selection of snacks. These included a variety of options for kids and adults alike, such as Mickey shaped Rice Krispie treats, Kind bars and potato chips. It’s not a meal by any definition, but we could take as many as we wanted.

An assortment of snacks passed out to guests on a Disney VIP tour.

Cast members also passed out pins for us to wear. These identified us as VIP tour guests, so we could have access to all of the included experiences. This will become particularly important later for gaining entry to expedited ride queues.

After taking care of the formalities and our stomachs, Helen escorted us into the park. This particular portal led us in beside the Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster queue, so we made that our first stop. Helen scanned her magic Disney VIP tour guide card at the entrance to the Lightning Lane and held up the line for all 10 of us to proceed.

Once at the next check point, she showed her badge again. The cast member in charge here held us until we could be the first into the pre-show area. Once we were waved in, Helen led us inside and made sure to position us in front of the doors that would open to the ride queue.

When the doors opened, she ushered us in, holding off other guests who may have pushed their way into our party, to ensure we were first out the door and into the queue. Here, she worked her magic again, speaking to the cast member in charge of row assignments and telling them in which rows she would like her party to be seated. Her goal was always to place us in the best spot to experience the attraction, and she always got her way.

One incredibly nice thing about a VIP tour, is that your guide will take care of all of your bags during the ride. Helen gathered up an armload of backpacks, waist packs and the like as each rider took their assigned row.

Sandy and I decided to opt out of this coaster, since we’d already ridden earlier in the week. We’ve found that over time, that Aerosmith’s wild limo ride is a little too much for our aging joints, so Helen accommodated us by leading us to a backstage waiting area at the exit. We chatted for a bit until the riders in our party returned and then we were off to our next adventure.

In general, you can expect your tour guide to bring you into each attraction through the Lightning Lane . In the case of our next ride, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, we skipped all queues to the ride and entered through a backstage access door . This entry point led us right outside the doors to the pre-show.

Since Helen was allowed to enter the preshow first, she positioned us in a prime location. Once the preshow ended and the gate to the queue opened, we were once again the first ones in line. While we did have to wait in the last portion of the queue for this ride, we did skip the wait in the Lightning Lane. All in, we probably only waited a minute or 2 before Helen was instructing the cast member to seat us in rows 6-9 since these were the best for experiencing the attraction.

One thing to note here during our Disney VIP tour review, is that your tour guide will not ride on the attractions with you. Instead, they will work behind the scenes to prepare for the next steps in the itinerary or to take care of other tasks dedicated to your comfort. In this instance, it was heading out into the park to get ice cold bottles of Smart Water for all of us.

A selection of bottled water offered to guests on a Disney World VIP tour.

For those who are unfamiliar with Disney parks, you generally have 2 options when it comes to bottled water: Dasani or Smart Water. While Dasani is definitely cheaper, the Smart Water has a more palatable taste to most guests. The fact that Helen chose the more expensive Smart Water for our morning refreshment just underscores the fact that Disney recognizes the premium expectations of guests who book a Disney VIP tour.

We finished up our time in Hollywood Studios with a visit to Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance , 2 rides on Slinky Dog Dash and a final show down on Toy Story Midway Mania. I’m proud to say that I hit my trip high score during our VIP tour, though as usual, it really was not much to brag about.

Off to Magic Kingdom, Second Stop in Our Disney VIP Tour Review

To head off to Magic Kingdom , the next stop on our Disney VIP tour, we made our way back to our van. I was pleasantly surprised to find the AC already running and a completely cooled interior, thanks to the Disney pixies hiding somewhere in the dedicated backstage area.

Our arrival at Magic Kingdom was greeted by some very visible pixies who assisted us out of the van and enthusiastically passed out Disney Rice Krispie treats. This time, we could even choose from treats with chocolate covered ears or candy-coated toppings.

As we munched, Helen led us into another backstage passage. For anyone who has attended a holiday party at Disney, this will look familiar. It’s the same pathway to the right off Main Street USA just past the Confectionary, where you start your trick or treating during Halloween.

We began our Magic Kingdom VIP experience by taking this path toward Magic Kingdom’s newest ride, Tron Lightcycle Run. This attraction was running a virtual queue during our visit and also offering guests the option to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane (ILL) experience . Since we were VIP for the day, she led us directly to the ILL lane and into the preshow.

disney vip tour scanning in

Since Helen took care of all of our bags and such, she told us not to stop at the lockers after the preshow and to head directly to the queue. This saved us a little time and put us ahead of the many guests who had to stop and stow their cargo before riding.

Understanding the Virtual Queue :  New rides at Disney World are usually operated with a virtual queue. Guests log into the My Disney Experience app at 7:00 am and are assigned a position to ride. You can keep tabs on where you are in the virtual queue using the app, and when it’s your time to ride, you’ll receive a push notification. You have one hour from that point to appear at the virtual queue entrance.

As we emerged from the ride, we found Helen overloaded with our bags as well as an armload of Mickey pretzels and churros. It seems the aim with a VIP tour is to give you a taste of each park. Since these are 2 of the most popular snacks in the Magic Kingdom, she wanted to make sure we had the chance to experience them.

Disney VIP tour guide passes out snacks to tour guests.

As we ate, we walked over to 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. This was the first bottleneck in our Disney VIP tour review, and it was consistent with every other day we had spent at Magic Kingdom during the trip. This seems to be one ride where people are more than willing to pay the price for the Individual Lightning Lane, so the Lightning Lane queue was always very long, even for VIP tour guests. However, it went quickly with Helen escorting us to the second scan in point to ensure we got priority treatment here.

While we rode, Helen once again grabbed some water for us to wash down our snacks. We then headed over to the castle for a quick photo op and for some members of our party to grab an additional snack at Casey’s Corner. One thing that needs to be mentioned in any Disney VIP tour review is the fact that regular meals are not included. The previously mentioned snacks were all a part of the VIP experience, but if you choose to stop at Disney restaurants, you’ll need to make your own purchases.

With the number of snacks you are provided during a tour, it’s honestly hard to imagine wanting to eat. After munching on rice Krispie treats and churros or pretzels, we were provided a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich or ice cream bar before getting back in the van and heading to EPCOT.

EPCOT, the Last Stop in our Disney VIP Tour Review

Our arrival at the EPCOT backstage area was similar to the previous stops mentioned in this Disney VIP tour review. We were greeted by cast members and offered more treats before Helen led us off to our next great adventure: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

With this ride, we needed to fight our way to the ILL line like every other guest. If you haven’t experienced this attraction, I’ll explain.

The way the entrance is designed, there’s a bit of a bottle neck since there isn’t much room for guests to queue as they scan in for either the Lightning Lane or the virtual queue. Also, the Lightning Lane is poorly signed, leading many guests to try to scan in through the virtual queue instead of the correct point of entry. This leads to delays, as guests try repeatedly to get their card or MagicBand to work. The poor signage also has guests standing in front of the entry points, blocking access as they try to determine where they should be.

Since a VIP tour guide will never plow through guests inside the park, we had a bit of a delay to get to the scan point. It was nothing significant, but I mention it as part of the Disney VIP tour review for any guest who may be expecting to be whisked on and off rides away from all of the crowds.

Once inside the Lightning Lane queue, we were led directly to the pre-show. Helen accompanied us and again positioned us so we would have first access into the queue. This would have worked if some disrespectful guests hadn’t opened the door during the preshow experience. What transpired after was a stampede of guests, all thinking they had to leave the show.

Unfortunately, this is a new trend at this ride which we hope Disney finds a way to deter quickly. This happened 2 different times that we rode, as repeat guests tried to get to the ride faster by skipping the pre-show. If you’re ever so inclined, please be considerate of other guests and wait out the preshow. As Helen explained, by opening the doors, the guests shut down the preshow experience for the other riders in line, robbing new guests of the chance to understand the backstory so vital to the ride.

Disney resort collection 2

Once we found our way down to the ride, Helen as usual told the cast member in charge of seat assignments that she wanted her party to be placed in the front cars. If you haven’t been on the ride before, this is truly the best place to experience the attraction, so we were thrilled.

Following Cosmic Rewind, we planned to visit Frozen Ever After. However, since we had told Helen we wanted to keep the tour to 7 hours, she was always keeping track of time. After checking the wait for Frozen she let us know that we’d likely be over time if we wanted a second guide on Cosmic Rewind. Since Frozen is no match for EPCOT’s newest coaster, our group was happy to skip it.

That meant, we headed over to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure . Again, Sandy and I sat this one out to avoid motion sickness, so we had a chance to chat again with Helen. We talked about how tired we were and how we were dreading having to wait until our 7:00 reservation at Space 220 to eat and head back to the hotel.

This is where I think the biggest perk of a VIP tour can be experienced—dedicated attention. She offered to try to try to get us an earlier Advance Dining Reservation, while we took our last ride on Cosmic Rewind. Miracle worker that she is, she succeeded.

She met us at the exit to Cosmic Rewind and ushered us right to Space 220. We were a little late, so the restaurant had officially closed to new guests in order to prepare for the dinner rush, but she got us right in. We took one last final picture and headed to the turbo lift to dine in space.

Advantages of a Disney World VIP Tour

Disney World VIP tour pin in front of building in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.

While I mentioned several of the advantages of a VIP tour in the Disney VIP tour review above, it’s worth speaking to some of the perks in greater detail. While it may sound like a simple perk, the private transportation to the parks is actually a tremendous timesaver.

If you’ve ever used Disney’s complimentary transportation , you know that waiting for the next bus, boat or monorail can come with a wait mid-day when park hopping. You don’t have to worry about this with a Disney VIP tour, and since you use backstage entrances, you don’t have to scan in at the entrance to parks and make the trek past the entrance to the attractions. In most instances, you’ll be entering right into the heart of the magic.

Also, keep in mind that your VIP tour will transport you back to your hotel, a restaurant or anywhere you’d like to go on Disney property at the end of your tour. We had dinner reservations in the EPCOT park, so we simply ended our experience there. However, you may ask for a final round of transport to end your tour, saving you a lot of time and hassle when it comes to getting back to your hotel.

The second big perk of a Disney VIP tour is the access to the Lightning Lane , or in some cases, directly to the final ride queue. While the Lightning Lane will always provide faster access to attractions, the fact that your tour guide will ensure that you are always placed at the head of the line is another time saver, helping you to do more with your day and tour.

Aside from time-saving perks, the biggest advantage of the tour is the premium experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, personable and dedicated to ensuring that we had the most magical experience possible. The fact that she thought of little things, like taking all of our bags while we rode rides and anticipated our needs, provided the perfect touch.

While I can only speak personally to our tour guide, I have honestly never spoken to anyone, client or friend, who had a bad experience on a Disney VIP tour. The only complaint I’ve ever heard is how tiring a VIP tour is, mainly because you’re trying to fit so much into the time with your guide.

Disney vip tour final

How Much Is a Disney Private VIP Tour:

Disney VIP Tours are a premium experience with a star-quality price tag. You can expect to pay anywhere between $550 and $750 an hour for a VIP tour. Prices will vary depending on the day of the week and your dates of travel. In general, expect to pay more on weekends and around holidays. Keep in mind, that you will need to commit to a minimum 7-hour experience.

Is a Disney VIP Tour Worth It?

Whether a Disney VIP tour is worth it depends a lot on your vacation budget, how much you value the celebrity treatment and the $3,800 – $7,500 price tag. Since up to 10 people are allowed on each tour, guests with more limited budgets may split the cost across 2 or 3 families and find the experience more economical and magical.

On the other hand, guests with bigger budgets may enjoy several VIP tours during their trip. In speaking with Helen, she indicated that most people she works with will book a VIP tour for each park they visit, rather than hopping from park to park as I discussed in my Disney VIP tour review.

Taking this approach allows for a more leisurely pace. Guests may actually stop and dine at restaurants and still have time to enjoy each of the attractions, since waits in queue lines will be minimal.

On the other hand, if you’re thinking to book a VIP tour to completely avoid crowds, you may not find the experience worth the expense. There is a common misconception that a Disney VIP tour will take you from ride to ride via backstage passages, thereby avoiding park crowds completely. This isn’t the way a VIP tour works, nor do I think it’s completely desirable.

A Disney VIP tour guide will lead you through the parks, allowing you to experience all of the wonder you will find there. If you come across an impromptu character greeting, you can stop and enjoy the show. Every Disney park employs elaborate, realistic theming elements to take you different places and times. It would be a shame to miss this critical aspect of the experience in favor of tunneling through backstage areas just to avoid a few bottlenecks.

In truth, as we moved from place to place with our tour guide, I hardly noticed the other people in the parks at all. I was focused instead on the fun informational tidbits she provided or following her lead down different routes I might not have thought to take on my own.

How to Book a Disney VIP Tour

One of the most important things to understand when booking a Disney VIP tour is how to book. There are a number of third party companies that offer experiences they label as VIP, but there are only two ways to book the experience described in this Disney VIP tour review: directly through Disney by calling the tour booking line, or through a travel agent that specializes in Disney travel.

We’ve heard and read reviews where guests have had terrible experiences with third party guides. Part of the problem is access. Anyone not officially authorized by Disney will not have access to the backstage areas or Lightning Lane queues to help you make the most of your experience. If you want the VIP level treatement described in this review, be sure to book with a travel agent or call Disney yourself and book directly.

Disney World VIP Tour FAQs

While I’ve covered most of the VIP experience in the Disney VIP tour review section, there are a few other questions that guests often have. I’ve taken a few moments to address those here:

Does a Disney VIP tour include food?

While multiple snacks a day are included in your Disney VIP tour, if you wish to eat at a Disney World restaurant or stop at a kiosk not included in the snacks provided, you will be required to make your own purchases.

Do Disney VIP tours skip lines?

Guests on Disney VIP tours will skip the regular queue on rides and attractions. They will access lines via the Lightning Lane. While there will be some wait for the attraction using this approach, wait times are minimal.

Is Disney VIP Tour priced per person?

Pricing for a Disney VIP tour is assessed hourly for a party of up to ten people.

Do Disney VIP tours sell out?

Yes, Disney VIP tours do sell out. When I spoke with our VIP tour guide about this, she told me that Disney does offer a waitlist for guests who aren’t able to secure a VIP tour booking, but can’t guarantee a spot will open up. She also mentioned that the waitlist had been closed for the last three weeks of December 2024. Because there were far too many people wanting tours, even the waitlist slots had filled up. The important point here is to book early!

When to book a Disney VIP tour?

Since Disney VIP tours do sell out, it’s important to book your tour as soon as you are able to do so. For guests of Disney World resort hotels, that’s 60 days prior to arrival at your resort hotel. All other guests are eligible to book 60 days before the date they wish to take a tour.

Do you tip Disney World VIP tour guide?

It is customary to tip your Disney World tour guide. While there is no recommended rate or percentage, most people indicate that they tip between $200-$500 a day. However, your tip should reflect the quality of the experience the knowledge and dedication of your tour guide.

When it comes to  experiencing Disney luxury , there aren’t very many experiences better than a Disney VIP tour. We love to picture ourselves strutting down Main Street, U.S.A., coffee in hand, sporting trendy sunglasses and a handbag, and accompanied by one of the “plaids” — a Disney VIP tour guide and theme park extraordinaire.

A VIP tour is one of  the most luxurious Disney theme park experiences  money can buy (outside of the super-exclusive Club 33, of course). Available at  Disneyland  and  Walt Disney World , Disney’s VIP Tour Services provide guests with  a private tour of the theme parks , including skipping the line for every ride, backstage access, and as much park hopping as you want.

But how much does a Disney VIP tour really cost, what are the perks, and what should you keep in mind when booking? We’re covering it all right here.

Disney VIP Tour Cost

Per Disney, a VIP theme park tour offers you priority access to attractions, hassle-free planning of your day at the parks, and VIP service from your own personal guide, which helps with all your needs and entertainment. Tours start at $2,975 for a minimum of seven hours.

Typically, up to 10 guests can take a VIP tour with one tour guide. You can add more people to your tour, but the price will increase, as a second tour guide will need to accompany your group.

The price will vary depending on the season, too. At both Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, a Disney VIP tour starts at $425/hour for a minimum of 7 hours.

Disney VIP Tours Info

However, if you’re looking to book a  Disney VIP tour  during peak seasons like Christmas and New Year’s or Spring Break, then you can expect the price to be much higher than the minimum. A 10-hour tour during the busy season, for example, could cost $8,500. Due to popularity, you should book your tour ASAP.

Even with the steep price tag, valid theme park admission (i.e., a Disney theme park ticket or Annual Pass) is required to take a VIP tour. This is something to factor into your budget if you’re considering booking.

Disney VIP Tour Benefits

Without a doubt, one of the best perks of a VIP tour is feeling like a VIP. Have you ever seen a Disney Cast Member dressed in plaid taking a group of guests to the front of the line at an attraction, or even placing a VIP order at Starbucks? The same Cast Members who accompany celebrity guests also accompany guests who book VIP tours. So, if you want to feel like a celeb at Disney and you have some serious cash, book a Disney VIP tour.

The tour guides are more than Disney park experts — they are some of the kindest, most accommodating Disney Cast Members you will ever meet. Disney hires them for a reason, and when they are not booking tours, many of them are working in Guest Relations to make magic for everyday guests.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Annemarie Bohn (@annemarie_mvptravel)

A VIP tour is also a fantastic option if your time at the theme parks is limited. If you are only planning to be at Disney for one day — or you are taking a quick trip — and you want to get on as many rides as possible, a VIP tour could be a great way to go.

But even if you’re willing to spend the money and are seriously looking into booking a VIP tour, we wouldn’t recommend it for a first visit to the Disney theme parks. The Disney parks offer an exceptional kind of magic for guests. And because many VIP tours offer backstage access and bring guests through the parks in a rushed, exciting way, they aren’t always great for a first visit.

A VIP tour is an incredible way to get as much done as possible in a single day, but if you’ve never been to Disneyland or Disney World before, we’d suggest taking everything in on your own before splurging on the VIP treatment.

Tips for Booking a VIP Tour at Disneyland or Walt Disney World

Book during the slower season  .

Is there a “slow season” at Disney anymore? We’re not so sure about that, but we are sure about VIP tour pricing.  Disney VIP tour services  start at $425 an hour and can be as expensive as $850 an hour, depending on the time of year you book. If you have flexible travel dates and you want to save as much money possible on a VIP tour, give Disney a call and ask for more details on booking during the “off-season” — or, at least, booking during a time when you can get a tour for the lowest price available.

Get a big group together

How Much does Disney VIP Tour Cost?

A VIP tour will cost you the same amount whether you’re a group of 10 or flying solo, so get a big group together if you want to make the experience more cost-effective. This is a convenient tip if going on a VIP tour is on your Disney bucket list, but you don’t have thousands of dollars to burn.

For example, a seven-hour tour for eight people could cost under $500 per person if divided equally, whereas the same tour for three guests could cost under $1,000 per person. No matter what, Disney VIP tours are expensive, but they can be more attainable the more people you invite to the experience.

Know your must-dos

Your  Disney VIP tour guide  will be an expert on the theme parks — that’s a given. They’ll share secrets and history, fun facts, and an all-around great time with you throughout the entire day.

Extra experiences are bound to come up during your VIP tour, but it doesn’t hurt to have some of your must-dos in mind as you head into your day. Want to ride Space Mountain as many times as possible? Looking to get the full Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experience? Needing a Disney fairytale-themed day? Your Disney VIP tour guide can make it happen.

Other Tours to Consider

If you want a tour of the theme parks with a much more laid-back feel, then we’d recommend trying one of Disney’s other tours. At Disneyland, the  “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” Guided Tour  allows guests to explore Walt Disney’s life through Disneyland, the original theme park and the only Disney park that Walt himself opened.

Similarly, Magic Kingdom offers the  Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour , offering an in-depth look at Magic Kingdom’s history and a glimpse at “secret locations you’ve always wondered about. Neither of these guided tours is considered a private VIP tour, so you will likely be with other guests. Still, they are great for anyone who wants a closer, more historical perspective on the flagship theme parks at Disneyland Resort in California or Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Everything You NEED to Know About VIP Tours in Disney World

By Lydia Storks 2 Comments

Are you hoping to have the best day ever in Disney World during your visit? Well, of course, you are!

disney private vip tours

We can’t blame you for wanting the best vacation ever!

You’ve saved and planned for months to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth, and you’ll definitely want to experience as much as you possibly can. One of the ways to get a LOT accomplished in a little amount of time is a VIP tour , and if you’ve ever been interested in this offering, we’re breaking down what all the experience entails!

What is a VIP Tour?

A Disney World VIP tour is a paid, add-on experience where guests will be guided through the park(s) by a knowledgeable Cast Member. During your visit, you’ll get the ultimate VIP treatment — including a customizable itinerary, backstage transportation, and front-of-the-line privileges at attractions.

disney private vip tours

Magic Kingdom

Throughout the day, you’ll also be able to learn fun facts about Disney World from the guides, seeing and hearing about details that only Disney insiders know. If you’re a Disney history buff or you’re looking for the most luxurious way to spend the day — this could be just right for you!

What Happens Before You Go

When planning a VIP tour, there are a few things to note. First, you’ll need valid theme park admission, and that’s not included in the cost of the tour. If you want to visit multiple theme parks during your tour, you’ll need to purchase Park Hopper tickets.

disney private vip tours

Also, Disney Park Pass reservations are still required for entry on a VIP tour day. You’ll have to make a reservation for every member of your party at the first park you plan to visit.

disney private vip tours

Animal Kingdom

As far as the tour itself goes, you must book for at least 7 hours, and your party can have up to 10 people. The cost ranges from $425 to $850 per hour , depending on the season. (Remember that you can split that cost with the people in your party, so gathering a bigger group may be a good thing!) You’ll also want to budget for the optional gratuity — it’s just nice to tip your guide.

What Happens On the Day of Your Tour

Even though you’re a “VIP” for the day, you’ll still have to follow certain rules when in the parks! You won’t be able to use cameras, phones, or recording equipment in any backstage areas of the park that you visit.

disney private vip tours

You’ll only be able to take pictures in regular guest areas.

Also, children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult , so don’t plan for your kiddos to go on this tour alone!

Pickup and Travel

At the beginning of your day, you can schedule a pickup from your Walt Disney World accommodations . (Keep in mind that your hotel price is not included in the cost of the tour, either.) The clock starts on your day at your scheduled pickup time, so you’ll want to be on time for this meet-up.

disney private vip tours

Hotel stay not included!

If you’d prefer to save a little time and meet your guide at the parks, you can do that as well, starting your tour later in the day. Either way, you’ll be chauffeured around to your chosen locations throughout the day in your own private transportation vehicle. You’ll park in backstage areas instead of the regular parking lots and enter through private park entrances. How fancy!

disney private vip tours

You’ll get to skip the public parking lots!

One of the best parts about a VIP tour is being able to skip the long wait for your favorite attractions. When you arrive at your selected ride, you’ll be directed through the Lightning Lane queue to skip the standby line and get to the front much faster.

disney private vip tours

Ready to skip the line?!

If the attraction doesn’t have a specified Lightning Lane, then you’ll be able to skip the entire line — what a treat!

Keep in mind that if you’re touring for 7 hours, you’re likely going to need to stop and eat. Meals are not included in the cost of your tour, so you’ll want to budget accordingly.

disney private vip tours

Don’t forget to stop and eat!

To save time, it’s probably best to dine quick service on your VIP tour day . Your guide may also give you complimentary snacks and drinks throughout the day, like water bottles, popcorn, and Mickey Ice Cream Bars.

The Cast Members/Tour Guides

The Cast Member guides themselves are (in our opinion) the best part about the tour! They’ll be able to share insider knowledge and facts about the parks throughout the day, and you can ask them questions about how things work in Disney World.

disney private vip tours

Disney Cast Members are extra special!

Walking around the parks and into attraction queues with s omeone who can point out all the little details and backstory can really enhance your time at Disney World!

Is a VIP Tour Worth the Cost?

That’s entirely up to you! It’s a LOT of money, but you’re really paying for the ultimate Walt Disney World experience. You’ll get expert knowledge, fast transportation, and you’ll be able to avoid waiting in long lines.

disney private vip tours

No need to wait in long lines!

If you’re visiting Disney World for a short amount of time, you could easily knock out quite a few attractions in one day with a VIP tour and get more done than you would be able to otherwise. You may be able to work it into your budget if you split the cost between a party of 10, rather than take the tour with a small group. The service you receive throughout the day will be unparalleled, and it’s hard to put a price on that!

disney private vip tours

You could have a really “magical” day!

However, you definitely don’t NEED to do a VIP tour to have the “perfect” day at Disney! Here at DFB, we specialize in helping guests with all the tips and information they need to know before their trips, and if you walk into your vacation well-informed and prepared , you’ll be able to accomplish much more. Kind of makes me sad. Everyone in line gives these customers the side eye as they advance past everyone to the front of the line. Disney ought to be more egalitarian and not allow these kinds of services to celebrities or other customers regardless of their wealth.

Quite honestly, if I had the money I would do this for my daughter. We took her to the magic Kingdom for her 6th birthday. It was so crowded she only went on 1 ride. She should have had a magical day. Sadly it was frustrating and boring for her.

Disney VIP Tours: The Ultimate Disney Splurge

disney private vip tours

Disney VIP Tours are one of the most amazing and most expensive ways to see Walt Disney World.

Have you ever wished there was a way to get to the front of every line at Disney World?

Of course you have!  It’s the dream of every Disney lover out there!

I’m excited to tell you that THERE IS A WAY!  It’s called a Disney VIP Tour !

But fair warning:  it’ll cost you.  But it’s worth every single penny.

What are Disney VIP Tours?

During a family trip to Disney world, we decided to splurge on a Disney VIP tour.

I’d read quite a bit about tours at Disney World – there are several outside groups that offer Disney tours, and there are also several different tours offered by Disney itself.

The outside Disney groups that offer tours are less expensive, and I know there are many people who love them – but for me, it felt wrong to use a group that wasn’t 100% affiliated with Disney World. Because of this, we only looked at tours directly offered by Walt Disney World.

There are several types of tours offered by Disney World that range in price and what they include.  Many of these tours have been suspended, due to the pandemic, but the VIP Tours have resumed.

According to the Walt Disney World website, on a Disney VIP Tour you can:

Customize the perfect itinerary for your group with enough time to explore the attractions and sights. Enjoy some of your favorite attractions efficiently. Learn from our Disney VIP Tour Guides who have been hand-picked and expertly trained to plan the perfect itinerary for you and your family.

But this doesn’t adequately describe what happens on a Disney VIP tour.

kids with a Disney VIP Tour Guide

During a Disney VIP Tour experience, you can ride whatever your heart desires for the length of your tour.

A Walt Disney World Expert guides you through your day, providing VIP transportation from your Lake Buena Vista area hotel directly to the parks.

Disney VIP Tour guests get to “skip the line” and hop onto any attraction they want (except for the Rise of the Resistance, which you must get a boarding group to experience ).

Just an FYI:  We were not paid for this review and did not receive these services for free from Disney in exchange for this review. I simply want to share this experience with you all, as there seem to be very few reviews out there for the Disney Private VIP Tour.

It deserves to be reviewed, as this was by far the most AMAZING thing we’ve ever done at Disney World.

Disney VIP Tour Basics

Here are the important details about Disney VIP Tours:

Tour Length:  Minimum of 7 consecutive hours.

Tour Cost: $425-$625 per hour, depending on season.  You must have park tickets, which are not included in this price.  If you’d like to visit multiple parks with your guide, you must have park hoppers.  Disney Park Pass Reservations are also required for VIP tour guests.

Number of People Allowed: Each tour accommodates up to 10 guests per 1 tour guide.  Every person is counted as a guest, including infants and children under 3.

Tour Includes:

  • Flexible start time, chosen by you
  • Access to “skip the lines” for every ride in every park except Rise of the Resistance
  • Private transportation between parks.  Pick up and drop off from your Disney Resort Hotel is possible as well.
  • VIP viewing areas for parades, select stage shows, and nighttime spectaculars (when available)
  • Parades, stage shows, and nighttime spectaculars are almost non-existent right now at Disney World due to social distancing requirements.  Because of this access to these things are subject to availability and may be restricted by capacity constraints.
  • You must provide more than 48 hours notice to cancel a Disney VIP Tour.  If you cancel within that 48-hour window, you will be charged a cancellation fee equal to two hours at the booked rate of the tour.
  • You may not video or photograph anything in the backstage areas.
  • Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult to participate in any tour.
  • Prices can change at any time without notice.
  • Masks are currently required at all Disney properties, and are required while on VIP tours as well.
  • Guests still have to meet Disney height requirement for rides.

Disney VIP Tours cannot be booked online.  You must call to book a VIP tour.  The number is: 407-560-4033

Our Private VIP Tour Experience

Our VIP tour took place prior to 2020, so covid restrictions were not in place.

We chose to start our Disney VIP tour at 1pm on the second to last day of our Disney trip, and meet our tour guide in the Magic Kingdom.  He was a couple of minutes late, but immediately introduced himself to us as Matthew and he seemed energetic and ready to go!

Prior to our trip, we’d sent over a very loose itinerary of what we hoped to accomplish beforehand, so he had an idea of what we’d like to do.

We wanted to start with Mine Train, so we went directly to the Fastpass line.  Matthew said hello to the cast member working the line and showed him that we were with him, and we were immediately let into the Fastpass line.  As we waited the 5 minutes or so to board, Matthew talked to us about our plans.

He knew we wanted to visit Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot, but he noticed we didn’t have Animal Kingdom included.  He asked why, and we explained that we have a child with a severe peanut allergy and avoid AK due to the fact that some of the animals are fed peanuts and there could be residue along rails/etc in the Safari area of the park.

He suggested that we go there to ride Flight of Passage, and assured us that we could enter and exit the park through a back entrance that would avoid any contact with the Safari area.  We were really excited about this, as we’d not expected to get to ride Flight of Passage.

We rode Mine Train together – we are a family of five, and Matthew rode with us.  On this first ride he rode with my husband, but as our kids got to know Matthew a bit they quickly started asking if they could be the one to ride with him.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with a Disney VIP Tour Guide

He was incredibly friendly and kind to the kids, and we all felt comfortable with him in short order.  After riding Mine Train once, we got right back in the Fastpass line to ride again – this time, Matthew rode with our youngest.

Within the next hour, we rode Thunder Mountain twice, and Space Mountain twice.  My youngest isn’t a Space Mountain fan, so she and I rode the Tomorrowland Speedway while the others were riding Space Mountain.

My older two were thrilled to get to ride both tracks of Space Mountain.  Before our tour, I didn’t even know that there were two tracks that are slightly different for this ride!  One has bigger hills, while the other is faster.  This was just one of the many neat little Disney facts we learned while on our private tour with Matthew.

When we’d ridden everything we wanted to at Magic Kingdom, Matthew took us through a back exit in Tomorrow Land and we all piled into a very nice, very new SUV.

There was another Disney cast member waiting by the car who knew us by name and asked if we’d like a cold bottle of water – which we all did.

It was a very nice touch, and we were excited to head to Animal Kingdom next.  We drove around the back of the Safari area, and Matthew shared lots of interesting information about the park while we were in the car.

We pulled up to a back entrance for The World of Pandora, parked, and stepped through the back door of a gift shop – which spit us out right at the Fastpass line for Flight of Passage.

We were all completely blown away by this ride, and immediately asked Matthew to take us on it again.  Right back through the Fastpass line we went – and we were able to ride twice within about 30 minutes.  It was AMAZING – one of the best moments of our entire trip.

We also rode Nav’i River Journey and Dinosaur before heading back to the car and back into “our” SUV.  This time, our destination was Hollywood Studios.

We parked behind Tower of Terror, and headed straight for Rockin’ Roller Coaster.  This was my middle daughter’s first time on this ride, and she absolutely LOVED it.

Next up was Star Tours – and Matthew actually took our kids on this one without us, while my husband and I stopped and enjoyed a beverage at Baseline Taphouse.

disney private vip tours

Toy Story Mania was up next, and Matthew shared some awesome tips on what to aim for and how to score the most possible points on this ride.  My husband and son are in a constant competition to “win” on this one, so it was really neat to get those insider tips.

We headed back towards our SUV, but decided to hop on Rockin’ Roller Coaster one more time before heading to Epcot.

Back in the SUV we went, and we made the short drive to Epcot.  After parking behind Japan, Matthew led us to Test Track, which we rode twice, and then we headed for Frozen Ever After.

At this point, it was closing in on the end of our 7 hour tour, and we had Matthew drive us back to our cabin at Fort Wilderness.

All in all, during our 7 hour VIP tour, we rode 18 rides and went to all 4 parks.  We never waited more than 15 minutes for anything – and for most rides, we waited less than 10.

Matthew was absolutely wonderful, and we all enjoyed our time with him – my daughters thought he was the best thing ever.  It was ABSOLUTELY an experience that I would recommend!

My personal tips for Disney Private VIP Tours

Once we experience our Disney VIP Tour, we figured out a few things that other people might find helpful to know in advance.

Book with another family and cut the cost in half

We could have had an additional 5 people on our tour with us for no additional fee.  Next time, we’ll try to plan our vacation with family friends, book this tour, and split the cost between us.  This is a great way to get this amazing experience for a little less!

Be prepared to tip in cash.

While the payment for the tour can be paid using a card (and must be paid in full one day prior), tips need to be given in cash.  It’s customary to tip your guide for outstanding service – we chose to tip 1 hours worth of pay, which is fairly standard.

Be sure to keep an eye on the clock.

While our guide was wonderful at making sure we got to every single attraction we wanted to ride, we did not make it clear that we wanted our tour to be exactly 7 hours, which is the minimum.  Including the ride back to our cabin, our tour went over by 15 minutes, and we were charged for this additional time.

After the initial 7 hour minimum, guests are charged for each additional 15 minute increment.  This charge came through after we arrived home, and I called Disney about it – they explained the charge, and were very kind to remove it since we were unaware that we would be charged for the ride time back to our cabin.

If we ever do this tour again (which would be a dream come true), I’ll do a better job of explaining that we wish to keep the tour right at 7 hours.

Keep in mind that you do not go to the very front of the Fastpass line with your tour guide – you simply have unlimited access to Fastpass lines.

We did have to wait in the Fastpass line, just like everyone else who had a Fastpass.  The difference was that we could do it for every single ride during our time with Matthew.  Since Fastpass lines are only currently available to those with a Disability Service Pass, I’d imagine these lines are actually shorter now.

Allow for at least a little bit of time to eat!

We were so focused on riding, we didn’t think to stop and eat.  We didn’t have a table service meal scheduled for our tour day, but we’d planned to stop for a quick service meal at some point during our tour.

That didn’t happen – we were having too much fun to think about food!  I didn’t even realize it until we stopped for a bathroom break at Hollywood Studios, and Matthew disappeared for a minute … to grab himself a pretzel.

I felt bad when I realized we’d been going so fast we didn’t give our guide time to grab food!  We did learn, though, that the cream cheese filled pretzels at Hollywood Studios are one of the best snacks on property!

Bottom line – The Disney VIP Private Tour far exceeded our expectations.

I won’t lie – it’s incredibly expensive.  I was worried that we wouldn’t think it was worth the expense…. but it was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY.

Would we do it again?  Absolutely.

Will book a Disney VIP Tour every trip?  No.

This is definitely a bucket list/splurge experience that won’t be a part of every vacation we take to Walt Disney World.  But if you’re looking for the ultimate way to make your Walt Disney World experience incredible, a Disney VIP Tour is the way to go!

We just booked a day for a VIP tour in January 2022-and I came across your post while doing some research-so helpful-thank you! To clarify, I assume everyone had the "park hopper" option in order to access all 4 parks in one day? Or maybe the better question is-can the VIP tour include all parks, even with a reservation at just one? Thanks again!

Louise Emery

Tuesday 30th of November 2021

Yes, your assumption is correct. All participants need park hoppers to access all 4 parks in one day. And yes, since you're only allowed to reserve one park per day, you only need the one park reservation at the park you will start at when on a VIP tour. The Tour Guides should take care of reserving the rest.

Are Adventures by Disney Private Adventures Worth It?

NOTE:  Adventures by Disney is not currently offering any private adventures for the 2024 season . It is not yet known when (or if) private adventures will return. The article below reflects information for prior years and will be updated in the future should additional information become available.

The Disney Parks Around the World — a Private Jet Adventure  trip is still being offered.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable and hassle-free family vacation, look no further than Adventures by Disney Private Adventures. These exclusive small-group tours offer unprecedented access to some of the world’s most sought-after destinations. But what are Private Adventures, exactly, and how much do they cost? What are the itineraries like? And are Adventures by Disney Private Adventures worth it? In this blog post, we’ll answer all of those questions and more!

What are Adventures by Disney Private Adventures?

Adventures by Disney offers several different trip types, and one is called Private Adventures.

An Adventures by Disney Private Adventure is an exclusive, intimate tour led by an Adventure Guide for up to 12 guests. You’ll get VIP access to popular attractions, unique experiences, and behind-the-scenes access that’s impossible to find anywhere else. Private Adventures currently offers 11 itineraries across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Americas.

Adventures by Disney Private Adventures include all of the remarkable benefits you’ve come to expect from the ABD brand. These professionals ensure you have a hassle-free experience as you travel to select attractions and enjoy unique cultural experiences and privately guided tours. In addition, they can also offer valuable insider tips and tricks that only a true local would know.

Private Adventures are genuinely one-of-a-kind experiences that are perfect for families who want to make the most of their time together on vacation.

Note: Disney has also announced a new “Private Jet Adventure” which, despite including the word “private,” is not limited to just you and your family.  This article does not cover that offering .

How are Private Adventures different from regular Adventures by Disney trip?

  • Itinerary : Disney’s Private Adventures offer a mix of activities found on regular Adventures by Disney’s tours and some new experiences customized just for Private Adventurers.
  • Size : Private Adventures can accommodate up to 12 people, while a standard Adventures by Disney tour can have up to 40 people.
  • Age : There’s typcially no minimum age requirement for a Private Adventure, so everyone is welcome to enjoy the tour, no matter how young. See below for exceptions to this rule.
  • Price : The cost of an Adventures by Disney Private Adventure is usually more expensive than standard Adventures by Disney group tours ( Land Adventures ), Short Escapes , or European river cruises .

What’s included in the cost of a Disney Private Adventure?

A Private Adventure is certainly not cheap, but it is a nearly all-inclusive experience. Accommodations, activities, travel, and most meals are included in one upfront price when you book a Private Adventure. They are an excellent choice for families who want to avoid the hassle of planning a vacation on their own and paying out-of-pocket as they go.

An Adventures by Disney Private Adventure includes the following:

  • The services of at least one Private Adventure Guide for each destination
  • Exceptional accommodations
  • Private events and VIP access
  • The price of admission to attractions and performances
  • Experiencing local culture through local experts
  • Transportation during the tour

Note: The cost of a Private Adventure includes travel during the trip, but airfare to and from your destination is typically not included . In other words, if your trip starts and ends in Italy, you will be responsible for getting to and departing from Italy. However, transfers to and from the airport are covered by Adventures by Disney.

What is a Walt Disney World VIP Tour?

If you’ve always wondered whether a VIP Tour at Walt Disney World is worth splurging on, we’re sharing our firsthand experience.

A few weeks ago, a friend invited me along on a Walt Disney World VIP Tour. I’d heard of such things, of course, but hadn’t ever taken one. Did I want to tag along? You bet Donald’s pants I did! Our tour guide met us in Adventureland and whisked us backstage. Yes, backstage at the Magic Kingdom . That was the first clue this tour included some special things.

“Have to put away my phone, can’t text, am about to get in a black Suburban backstage at MK,” I texted some friends, and felt quite fancy doing so. Of course, even VIP Guests can’t take pictures backstage, but the most magical places at Walt Disney World aren’t backstage, so I didn’t mind.

My friend, who belongs to Walt Disney World’s ultra-exclusive Club 33 , wanted to visit all four Club 33 lounges in one day, plus hit up some rides. While I can’t write about what we saw in the Club, I can tell you I would not have had the energy to hit four parks, have a meal or drink at each, and ride a couple of rides on my own. By the end of the day, that back seat of the Suburban was a welcome, comfy place to ride.

What Does a Walt Disney World VIP Tour Include?

The magic of a Walt Disney World VIP Tour is that it includes… well, whatever you’d like it to include.  Your tour group gets a private guide who can tell you (almost) all the secrets of the most magical place on earth. VIP Tours include pre-planning your visit to the park, so you can let them know ahead of time what you want to get out of the tour. Once in the park, the fun begins. Our tour guide brought us water, swapped our spent fuel rods while we rode Kilimanjaro Safaris, and found us last-minute VIP seating for the Garden Rocks concert. Also — here’s the big one — she made sure we walked on every attraction we wanted to ride — with virtually no lines. That’s right: Walt Disney World VIP Tours come with unlimited Lightning Lanes .

How Much Does a Walt Disney World VIP Tour Cost?

VIP Tours range from $450 to $900 per hour , depending on what experiences you want. VIP Tours have a minimum of seven hours. That means tours start at $3,150, and from there, the sky’s the limit. Every Guest must also have a valid theme park admission as well as a park reservation.

How Many People Can Take a VIP Tour?

Up to 10 people can take a single tour. That includes infants, although children younger than 3 years do not need a theme park ticket. While that $3,150 starting price might seem costly, for 10 people, it breaks down to $315 per person. Bear in mind that what you want to do and experience will dictate the price.

Is a Private VIP Tour The Right Choice for My Family?

That depends on you! If you love to wing it at Walt Disney World but hate spending time in line (and the average two-to-three Lightning Lanes per day isn’t enough for you), you’ll like the VIP Tour. These tours are also great for people who want to maximize their day — for example, people who can’t get back to the parks every few months or every year .

Admittedly, the price makes it a luxury. But if you’ve ever wanted Walt Disney World to offer a ticket with unlimited Lightning Lanes — and remarked that you’d pay extra for it — Walt Disney VIP Tours make perfect sense.

8 Reasons $8,000 Disney VIP Tours Are Worth It

disney private vip tours

There’s no doubt about it, Walt Disney World is a mission.

It takes time, it takes money, and sometimes this theme park even steals your sanity.

When I imagine the perfect fairytale Disney vacation, I see myself skipping over the steps of the theme park castle, singing Disney songs after a restful sleep at a Disney resort . What I get is a crazy 25,000 steps on my FitBit , heatstroke, dehydration, and a whole lot of patient practice.

And that’s just one park, forget about doing any more than that would be the definition of insanity.

So when Visit Florida asked me to do a Disney private VIP tour visiting 3 Disney parks in one day, I thought they were insane. But always up for a little insanity, I pulled on my runners, got custom lanyards made, ensured my FitBit was charged, and pulled up my big girl panties. Let’s do this!

Disney VIP Tours - Castle

Does Disney World have VIP Passes?

I was greeted in front of a sparkling clean white unmarked can by bright, bubbly, vivacious Emily. She wore a red plaid skirt with matching suspenders and a crisp, white blouse with ginormous gold buttons.

What stood out was her long, luscious red hair, like The Little Mermaid stepped outside of the movie and into real life. Our very own Disney park princess turned out to be our very own Disney World tour guide.

How Much Is A VIP Tour At Disney World?

Can you pay to skip lines at Disney World ? Well, our guide shared in a conspiracy-like tone that ‘YES’ you can with Disney VIP tours .

We were about to take the almost-secret Disney World Premium VIP Tour . And how much does a VIP Disney tour cost? The Disney VIP tours cost anywhere from $450 – $700 per hour, with a minimum of 7 hours.

If I had been drinking coffee it would have been sprayed on the back of her head. What?! Who pays that for a Disney World private tour?

Turns out plenty. It’s the type of people who don’t want to spend months planning, parents who don’t want to stand with crying kids for hours in long queues under the hot sun, CEOs who have executive jobs to get back to, and folks who have more important things to do, people who have done Disney before and just want to re-live their favorite rides… Or people who just want to see 3 Disney Parks in one day… like our group.

Disney VIP Tours - Mickey

This Disney World VIP pass can take a group of up to 10 people. So if you throw a couple of families into the mix, it might even be considered an excellent value.

Once booked, your Disney World tour guide takes care of everything. Just let them know your favorite rides, restaurants, and parks and they will orchestrate the entire day to make sure everything fits in, in the most sensible amount of time.

What does that mean? Ultimate ease. You’ll spend less time waiting and more time soaking up Disney’s spectacular magic. The way Walt intended.

So what did I think of my Disney VIP tour guide? Well, keep reading as I spill the secret in my Disney World VIP tour review.

Perks To The Disney VIP Pass

Want a ride to the door .

Our Disney tour guide picked us up and escorted us right to our chosen Disney park, and then using employee-only backroads, to the front door of the actual ride. Often we would leave our van parked behind the scenes and walk through a non-descript door that opened up where we wanted to be.

Outside the Tower of Terror, beside California Soarin’, or next to the Animal Safari. No long walks, no dehydration, and no heatstroke. Perfect air-conditioned comfort! How many times did I go on Space Mountain ?

Disney VIP Tours - Giraffe

Want a FastPass+ expedited entry to rides?

No more waiting. On our Disney VIP tour , we simply walked straight to the FastPass+ queue.

And bonus you can ride as many times as you like. Regular Walt Disney World visitors can obtain a maximum of 3 FastPass+ tickets per day, but not with your Disney tour guide . Ride as often as you like.

But don’t confuse your FastPass+ as a front-of-line pass, but it is just as good. Especially when it comes to meeting Walt Disney World characters . Those lines can be intense, but we managed to hug Chewbacca pretty quickly.

Disney VIP Tours - CHewbacca

And because the Disney VIP tours are allowed to go as many times as they like, we enjoyed rides like Mount Everest at Animal Kingdom four times. Screaming every single time.

Disney VIP Tours - roller coaster

Speaking as a tourist who has been on a Disney vacation and has not taken a single ride because of the ridiculous wait times and hordes of kids, this Disney VIP tour cost is worth every penny.

Want the best seats?

We didn’t need to race to any shows at the Magic Kingdom with our VIP tour guide Disney World , there was always a seat ready for us. We watched “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” nighttime show at Animal Kingdom in fabulous saved VIP seats. And by the way that show was awesome, highly recommend it.

Stop by the Tree of Life afterward – it’s simply stunning.

Disney VIP Tours - Tree of life

Want to know Disney secrets?

The guides have extensive training about all of the theme parks, as well as Disney ‘s history. You’ll be amazed at the backstage magic they are privy to.

Our Disney VIP guide was full of knowledge. Knowledge of working at Disney , knowledge of celebrities who visit, knowledge of the Magic Kingdom rides, and Disneyland Resort restaurants.

She never seemed to run out of answers to our endless list of questions. If you ever wanted to know about the inner workings of Disney , this is a real plus.

Disney VIP Tours - picture frame

Want to do three parks in one day?

Doing one park is hard enough, but on Disney VIP tickets we had plenty of time to do three parks, plus enjoy a delicious, laid-back meal at one of Disney’s fine dining restaurants. More about that further down.

Getting between the Magic Kingdom and the Disneys Animal Kingdom can normally take up to 45 minutes by shuttle, let alone walking through the parks. This door-to-door Animal Kingdom VIP tour means you can maximize your time in the park. And take your time eating.

Want to ride the newest and longest rides?

One of my favorite perks was that Emily knew exactly what was happening at the Disney park that was worth showing off. The brand new Frozen ride had been added to Epcot the day before we arrived. Not to mention the Avatar flight .

The California Soarin’ had just changed to “Soarin Around the World”. No research is necessary. She had us heading to brand new attractions and, of course, old favorites as well. How many times did I go on Space Mountain ?

Disney VIP Tours - Mountain

Want booked meal times?

Of course, your Disney guide can book you a great meal. We had lunch at the aptly named Nomad Lounge in the Disneys Animal Kingdom. The food was impeccable and I loved the travel theme. The bar had hundreds of travel stories pinned to its walls.

But the best part? We had so much time to sit and enjoy it, because we knew afterward we could jump in our air-conditioned van to any ride and hop in the FastPass+ lane.

disney private vip tours

Want to feel like a VIP rockstar?

Oh, and did I mention there is the ultimate rock-star feeling that goes with these Disney World VIP tickets? It’s pretty special.

You might want to keep a big pair of dark sunglasses handy to hide from all the wistful stares or curious bystanders trying to work out who you are as your tour Hollywood Studio . Total glam life! It is the ultimate day .

Disney VIP Tours - VIP

The Non-Perks Of Disney Private Tours

It’s expensive.

Ok, so it was expensive. No doubt about it. The Disney World VIP tour price can cost you up to USD 8,000.  But I know what goes into planning a trip to a Disney park and I know how much time is spent in queues.

So yes, your wallet is going to feel a very fine pinch. But the Disney VIP tour guide cost is also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Loss of Pizzazz

You might feel like you lose some of the pizzazz of Disney since you won’t walk through the front doors with the music and all the fanfare.

But the good news is, you can book that in with your VIP tour Disney World guide and then skip the rest of the walking.

Is The Disney VIP Tour Worth It?

Probably the most important non-perk is knowing that after you’ve done a VIP tour… you are not sure how you will ever be able to do a Disney park again without it. After the manic of Hong Kong Disney, I can’t go back.

How you will ever stand in a queue, walk thousands of FitBit steps and spend an hour waiting for a show or parade to begin? After all, don’t they know who I am?

Disney VIP tours - ride

The real secret to this secret tour

What makes the private VIP tour pass cost within reach of regular holidaymakers like you and me is this simple economic principle – when you add up the cost of premium accommodation and food for a 5-day stay in Orlando for Disney World , it’s not cheap.

The Disney VIP tour service will save you money because you can squeeze a 5-day vacation into just 1 (or 2) days. If you’re paying upwards of $400 per hotel room per night in a Walt Disney World Resort , and require 2 hotel room s for a large family (or extended family), shaving 3+ days off will reduce your vacation expenses by $2400. Adding meals at your Walt Disney World Resort and your total saving will probably exceed $3000.

So what seems like an extremely expensive and indulgent private VIP tour service will put you in front financially… plus (and this is a big plus) you’ll be much more relaxed and enjoy the whole experience as a family all the more. Bam!

How is Covid affecting Disney Parks?

All Disney parks around the world except one are now open to visitors.

From February 16, Disney announced that all of its resorts in the US would lift mask requirements for vaccinated guests. Those who are not fully vaccinated are expected to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations.

Disneyland has eliminated on-site temperature checks and is allowing guests to “self-determine” social distancing since California has removed distancing requirements. S ome parks have reduced capacity and require temperature checks still.

Some Disney parks have resumed their nightly fireworks shows and parades.

Capacity has been cut in Disney’s theme parks, with numbers further limited in restaurants and in queues to prevent overcrowding.

SO HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU GO ON SPACE MOUNTAIN???? Sheesh 😛

disney private vip tours

HAHAHHA It’s a secret! 😛

disney private vip tours

Hi Erin, love your article!

I’m travelling by myself this year, and would love to go on the VIP tour. Do you happen to know any travel agency that create groups for the VIP, so I could join other singles or smaller families? Or the VIP is something specifically for a party. My party has me only. Ha ha ha

Hi Karina, So glad it could help. I believe the price is set no matter how many people there are. For instance, you can have up to 10 people in a group so at $500 an hour that works out to $50 per hour per person. Whereas if it was just you, you could still go, but you’ll be paying the full $500 per hour by yourself. I would consider giving the reservation line a call and asking if there are any other groups that might be looking for members – Call (407) 560-4033. But it’s a great idea – maybe a Facebook Disney page could also be a place to grab another 9 people to join you! 🙂

Thanks, lovely! xoxo

whoops… I forgot to write a message! We have taken 3 extended WDW family trips. My youngest son (23) is graduating from college in May. We love Disney, but not the lines and crowds. A Disney trip was not on the radar until I read about the VIP tour. So worth it!! So, WDW is back on the agenda perhaps. My family of four is a huge Star Wars fan and have not been to Disney since 2013, so all of that is new to us. I am not sure if May 20th timeframe is not enough notice but that is what I was thinking. Otherwise, a fall Halloween timeframe is good too. Ideally, I plan a WDW trip a year ahead, so I am way behind so the VIP tour seems fitting.

Oh please do let me know if you do it! I think for a family short on time and planning it’s perfect. They can help you plan so I hope it works out for you.

Erin – good day – when did you go to Disney World and do the VIP Tour, was it during Covid? I have heard mixed reviews during Covid on these tours (mostly negative)… Please expand on your travel dates…

We went preCovid. I cannot say how it would be different now, but I would think it would be better with all the social distancing requirements currently.

Hi Erin! Loved your review of the VIP Tour! Hoping to book one in 2022.

Warm regards,

Hi Tara, I really enjoyed it and for a group could see the value. You will have the best time!

disney private vip tours

Wow….never knew that was a thing! Can see the benefits though! We only had 2 days in Orlando….did 2 parks….Epcot and Animal Kingdom….I felt very stressed with the heat and the crowds and trying to see as much as we can . Had a ball and thoroughly enjoyed it but will try to allow longer next time. Hardly did any rides as couldn’t get any fast passes and waiting in the long lines meant we would hardly see any of the parks. Fun place though!

Disney is so stressful! I’m not sure I’d ever do it again unless it was this way.

Disney Private VIP Tours

by Tabitha Woodard | Apr 11, 2023 | FTM Travel Info

Let’s talk about Disney Private VIP Tours!

I have had the privilege of doing a few of these and I cannot say enough good things about them.  To say that you feel like a celebrity is an understatement.  Disney will customize your plan for you and help you achieve your goals for the day.  They will pick you up from your resort if you want or meet you in the park.  If your goal is to visit all 4 parks in one day, they will help you do that.  Our goal on our VIP day was to hit 3 of the 4 theme parks.  We told our Guide that we wanted to visit our list of attractions and visit 3 of the theme parks and she made sure we did just that.

disney private vip tours

Our day started with meeting our VIP Guide in Hollywood Studios at a designated spot. We chose to meet our guide in the park to save time.  The tour is 7 hours and we were not going to miss a minute by her driving us to the parks.  That was our choice and they can definitely meet you at the resort, we’ve done that before as well.  The Private VIP Tour can accommodate up to 10 guests.  On this particular day, we had 9 in our party.

The VIP Tour Guides are a wealth of information.  They share tidbits of Disney info throughout your day.  They will drive you to each park if you plan on park hopping.  You bypass the lines to get into the parks and lines to the rides.  The best part of all, you don’t take the bus, monorail, boat or skyliner.  You have your own private car that takes you from place to place and you might even get to see some of the backstage areas.

Our day was focused on the attractions.  I’d say we accomplished a lot!  We had the privilege of hitting all of these rides that day:

  • Millenium Falcon
  • Tower of Terror
  • Rock N Roller Coaster
  • Rise of the Resistance
  • Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Splash Mountain
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Pirate of the Caribbean
  • Flight of Passage
  • Expedition Everest

I have another VIP Tour coming up at the end of April and we plan to fit in the parade and the fireworks.  Did you know the VIP Guides will get you a spot to watch those?  Come follow me and I will show you where our spots are located!

Why You Need to Book a Disney Private VIP Tour

Perhaps you have heard of some of the backstage tours that Disney World offers, but did you know about the Disney Private VIP Tour for groups of up to 10 people?  Here’s why you might want to consider a Disney Private VIP Tour for your next special occasion trip or family reunion!

VIP Tours Are Customizable

disney private vip tours

With a Disney Private VIP Tour, you get to personalize your plans.  You choose the start time, the park or parks you visit, and the attractions you ride. Disney VIP Tour Services will then take those preferences and create the most efficient way for you to do everything on your must-do list.

Tours Help Maximize Your Time in the Parks

One of the best perks of the VIP Tour is doing more of your favorite attractions in less time.  Depending on the attraction, this can mean entering through the Lightning Lane queues. For other attractions, it can mean using an expedited entry via a different route.  For example, you would enter the Haunted Mansion through a back entrance during the tour.

If there’s a show that your group would like to see, there may be specialty seating depending on the show and time of day.  You don’t even have to worry about staking out a spot for fireworks.  Your guide can take you to a special viewing area.  All of this helps you make it to all the headliner attractions in a short amount of time!

Guides Offer Lots of Insights on the Parks

disney private vip tours

If you’re a big Disney fan, you’ll love learning all sorts of tidbits about the parks, attractions, and more from your knowledgeable tour guide.  As you tour the parks, your guide can share fun Disney trivia or point out details or hidden gems in the parks that you may have missed.

Transportation Is Included

There’s no need to hop on a bus, boat, monorail, or skyliner for your tour!  When you book a VIP Tour, you also get private transportation to the theme parks.  Your tour guide will pick you up from your Disney resort and drive you to the theme park.  They can also drive you to your next park if you choose to park hop during your tour.  You’ll often enter the parks from backstage areas that guests don’t normally get to see!

Interested in booking a Disney Private VIP Tour?  Save money on Disney Private VIP tours with the DVC Rental Store!  They offer discounts of up to $500 .  You could also participate in their VIP Tour Swap Program that allows you to rent out your DVC points and put that income towards a tour.  Contact the DVC Rental Store for more information.

Gabriel iglesias & family get stuck on 'cars' ride at disney park, gabriel iglesias stuck on a socal freeway ... inside disney theme park.

Gabriel Iglesias needed roadside assistance near Radiator Springs ... 'cause Fluffy got stuck on Disney's "Cars" ride -- and had to sweat it out in the hot SoCal sun.

The stand-up comedian tells TMZ ... he hit up California Adventure Tuesday in Anaheim, CA with his family, and the group decided to go for a quick spin on Radiator Spring Racers -- a high-speed roller coaster based on the Pixar movie "Cars."

Welp, it didn't move quite so quickly this time around ... 'cause Gabriel tells us his car got stuck during the fast-moving final stretch of the ride -- and he's got the receipts to prove it.

Check out the vid of Gabe and his fam ... the group's hanging out -- no shade anywhere in sight, hot sun beating down on them -- but, Iglesias is still crackin' jokes and keeping morale high.

GI tells us the fam sat there for about 20 minutes before an employee finally got them out of the pit and back into the race ... though they had to leg it to the exit.

We're told the ride was down for about 45 minutes ... but, when it did come back up, the Iglesias clan was the first group on the ride. No word on what caused it to break down.

Gabriel says he's a big fan of the movie "Cars" and loves the ride ... so, he's got no hard feelings over yesterday's delay.

As for the ride itself ... a tow truck like Mater might've come in handy!!!
