JJ Lin Announces JJ20 World Tour By Nina Golan 21 July, 2022 7:02am GMT+8 / MYT

When JJ Lin announced its 2022 world tour in May, it hadn’t specifically confirmed which country it will stop in. But last week, three Asian countries were announced — Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Singapore.

Though dates and ticketing information have yet to be announced.

Singaporean Mandopop singer-songwriter JJ Lin has recently announced via Instagram that he will perform in his world tour, titled ‘JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour’.

The title of the new world tour is set to be a special one for Lin as it presumably marks his 20th anniversary as a singer. The concerts will see him perform his most recent album, ‘Drifter/Like You Do’, to the most prominent hits from his 2003 debut album, ‘Music Voyager’.

Lin’s record label, JFJ Productions , has been posting clips of music videos of the Mandopop star. And have been asking fans to suggest their “fondest memory” of Lin’s performances, specifically songs they’d want to see him perform on the World Tour.

JJ Lin’s last international tour saw him perform ‘Sanctuary World Tour’ in 2018. In November 2021, he performed for charity at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands with ticketing proceeds donated to The Community Chest of Singapore.

During the pandemic, he released the single ‘After The Rain’ and performed at another charity concert under the same title. In a press announcement, Lin said: “Covid-19 has had a significant impact on many people, both physically and mentally, and I hope that through my concert and music, I can provide a message of positivity, and that together we will be able to overcome these difficult times.”

In the same year, JJ Lin partnered with Gentle Bones to produce a single ‘At Least I Had You’. Both artists were top-streamed local artists of 2021 in Southeast Asia on Spotify.

Other stops included in the tour will be regions of North America, Europe and Australia, although no specific city and dates have been announced.

JJ Lin announces 'JJ20' world tour, confirms concerts in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, North America, Europe, and Australia

In an announcement made on 12 July, the Singaporean singer-songwriter shared that he will be embarking on the JJ20 World Tour  to celebrate 20 years since his debut. The world tour will see stops in Singapore , Kuala Lumpur , Taipei, North America , Europe , and Australia .

Confirming the concert dates on 25 July, JJ Lin revealed that he will be heading to Asia in November and December this year.

Mandopop star JJ Lin teases new concert world tour for 2022

Get ready for more of JJ Lin very soon as the Singaporean singer has announced a new world tour for 2022.

Lin posted a promotional teaser poster for his new JJ20 World Tour Concert on Instagram on Tue (May 3).

No dates or details were given out just yet but fans were still stoked, leaving comments encouraging the star to drop by places ranging from LA and Taiwan to Japan, Macau and, of course, Singapore, where he performed a couple of in-person charity shows titled After The Rain at Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands in November last year. He also held a virtual concert in July that year.

His last pre-pandemic live shows in Singapore were held on December 2019 as part of his Sanctuary World Tour 2.0 series.

Grand homecoming at National Stadium for S’pore Mandopop superstar JJ Lin

SINGAPORE - It felt just like old times, as if Covid-19 never happened, as Singaporean superstar JJ Lin kicked off his nostalgia-tinged JJ20 World Tour 2022 on Friday at the National Stadium.

The singer-songwriter previously performed two sold-out shows at the same venue in December 2019, as part of his Sanctuary 2.0 World Tour, shortly before the pandemic hit.

Singaporean Mandopop singer-songwriter JJ Lin has announced the countries that he will perform in for his upcoming world tour, titled ‘JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour’.

Lin first teased the upcoming tour in May , sharing no other details besides a picture that read “JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour 2022” at the time. On July 12, he announced via Instagram that the tour will see stops in Singapore, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, North America, Europe and Australia.

The states in which he would be performing in North America, Europe and Australia have not been announced yet, alongside dates as well as ticketing information for the entire tour.

The world tour is slated to be a celebration of Lin’s illustrious career thus far, and will see him perform his biggest hits from his 2003 debut album ‘Music Voyager’ to his most recent album, ‘Drifter / Like You Do’.

His record label, JFJ Productions have also been posting videos of the Mandopop star performing over the years. In the video’s captions, the label asked fans for their “fondest memory” of Lin performing, and which songs they would want to see him perform.

Lin last toured the world during his ‘Sanctuary World Tour’ , which started in 2018. In November last year, he performed a two-day concer t at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands for charity – tickets were priced from $288 to $688, and proceeds from the concert were donated to The Community Chest of Singapore.

Lin had also released the single ‘After The Rain’ for the benefit concert, which was titled the same. In a press statement, he shared: “Covid-19 has had a significant impact on many people, both physically and mentally, and I hope that through my concert and music, I can provide a message of positivity, and that together we will be able to overcome these difficult times.”

Prior to that, he collaborated with Gentle Bones for their collaborative single ‘At Least I Had You’. The two of them were Singapore’s top streamed local artists of 2021 on Spotify, with Lin clinching the top spot and Gentle Bones taking the second.

JJ Lin Announces 2022 World Tour

JJ Lin, a Singaporean Mandopop artist, has announced a JJ20 global tour for 2022.

Lin announced the global tour on Instagram on May 3, disclosing only the name of the tour and the fact that it will take place this year. Lin’s debut album, Music Voyager , was released in 2003 when he was 22 years old, and the name JJ20 appears to be a reference to his forthcoming 20th anniversary as an artist.

JJ Lin’s concert world tour is officially making a comeback in 2022 

2022 really is the year that keeps on giving. Concerts are finally making a comeback, and adding on to the mix is Singapore’s very own JJ Lin , who recently announced his upcoming concert world tour on social media.

The singer-songwriter last performed here in November 2021, holding a charity concert titled JJ Lin “After The Rain” A Charity Live Special. 

At the time of writing, details about his concert world tour have yet to be released, but it’s safe to assume that this will probably be a celebration for JJ Lin, as he is hitting his 20-year milestone in the music industry. The name JJ20 World Tour 2022 speaks for itself, but the announcement itself was merely a teaser of what fans can expect. Why so vague , JJ? 

Additionally, if you think this concert sounds familiar, that’s because Mandopop King Jay Chou also recently announced his 20-year anniversary concert world tour, which will similarly be held in Singapore. 

I’ve been an avid listener of Mandopop since my MSN days, and I’m really stoked just thinking about being able to sway along and belt out my favourite hits of all-time like Jiang Nan and Doujiang Youtiao with everyone in the concert halls when the long-awaited day finally arrives. 

To hype up the upcoming concert world tour, the singer has also captioned his social media posts with # roadtoJJ20 , so make sure to keep an eye on the hashtag if you want first dibs on all the latest details. 

So far, only the promotional poster is out so it might be best to keep a lookout online for the release of important information like dates and ticket prices. The #roadtoJJ20 may be a long one, but I can hardly wait.

Kuala Lumpur, December 2022- It was a great night at Bukit Jalil National Stadium as JJ Lin 林俊杰 has made a return to Malaysia with his 2022 JJ Lin "JJ20" World Tour Malaysia. The concert drew approximately 30,000 people, and JJ Lin performed for three hours, including many of his classic songs! In addition to that, the show also featured prominent guests artistes’ performances.

The concert began with the first act of the show, "Memories  记忆 ," which featured a video presentation that blended his footage with an animated version of him. During this segment, he has performed memorable songs such as  “ 记得 ” ， ” 木乃伊 ” ， ” 美人鱼 ” ， ” 茉莉雨 ” and “ 醉赤壁 ”.

Following this segment, JJ Lin greeted fans and informed them that the 18th of December 2022 is a good day because the World Cup Finale falls on the same day too.  He promised to make the fans' night unforgettable.

Following that, he proceeded with the performance of “ 关键词 ”. JJ continued to captivate fans with  “ 豆浆油条 ” and “ 小酒窝 ”  after a video presentation touching on "Dream" with a mix of his own footage and an anime version of him. He performed these two songs on acoustic guitar, giving them a completely different interpretation! This was a dream come true for the fans who had been waiting for his return to Malaysia for so long.

JJ then interacted with the fans again before proceeding with another few of his amazing songs " 当你 ", " 那些你很冒险的梦 " and " 因你而在 " 。

He asked the fans to sing along if they knew the lyrics. Well, of course, it was not a difficult tasks for the fans. He also took his time to greet all of his fans who came from all around the globe. A lot of fans actually brought along LED board to support their idol! Worth mentioning is, during the performance for this segment, there was "Strings" orchestra backing the music. It was like a full-course concert with orchestra and JJ Lin's incredible LIVE vocal! During " 因你而在 " JJ even invited his backing singers to the front of the stage to perform with him!

Another video presentation touching on "Universe" took over the stage before JJ went for another costume change. During this segment, he performed “ 新地球 ” ， “ 子弹列车 ” ， ”Wonderland” and “While I can” while on a storeys high platform with techno background scenes. He then delivered another breathtaking performance of “ 不存在的情人 ” .

JJ then delivered an emotional speech about how we should all stay strong and fight negativity. Then he performed “ 黑夜问白天 ” ， ” 无尽的思念 ”,“ 交换余生 ”,”Lose Control”, “Like You Do”,” 不死之身 ”,” 我还想她 ”,” 最好是 ” and “ 西界 ”.

JJ Lin then continue to amuse the fans with his piano skills. During this segment, he provided a key and asked the fans to guess his songs. Uns urprisingly, the audience correctly identified the song as soon as they heard the key. During this section, he has performed ”Love U U”, “ 可惜没如果 ” and “ 爱笑的眼睛 ” ！

JJ then welcomed guest artist Patti 蔡宥綺 , the first JFJ new singer, onto the stage to perform “ 亲爱的的陌生人 ”  alongside him! JJ Lin and Patti both mentioned how welcoming Malaysian fans are! JJ then remembered his time as Ah Du's 阿杜  assistant. JJ mentioned that he is currently preparing songs for Patti.

After the collaboration performance with Patti, JJ proceeded with another two songs “ 幸存者 ” and “ 修炼爱情 ” . During middle of the performance of " 修炼爱情 ", a surprising guest artist made an appearance. The guest artist was Jackson Wang 王嘉尔  who just had his concert a day prior. They both sang  “ 过 (Should've Let Go)”  on stage for the first time!

He then continued to perform “ 将故事写成我们 ” and “ 江南 ”. After these two songs, JJ took his time to thank the guests artistes, the concert crews and the audience. He also thanked his mother, who was in the audience that night.  He also took the time to thank the musician Eric Lin 林秋离 who recently passed away. Eric Lin 林秋离  has collaborated with him on many songs, including 江南 , 曹操 , 殺手 and 新地球 . He then proceeded with " 不为谁而作的歌 " before another intermission video footage being shown.

He then returned to the stage to perform the final few songs, which included  “7 千 3 百多天 ”, “ 不潮不用花钱 ”, “ 最向往的地方 ”, “ 伟大的渺小 ”,“ 一定会 ” and lastly “ 一千年以后 ”.

It was a really amazing concert packed with long list of JJ Lin's songs and it's definitely an ultimate treat for the fans. In 2023,  JJ Lin will continue his tour to North America, Europe, and Australia.

而昨晚《 JJ20 》也無預警的獻上驚喜！當演唱〈修煉愛情〉接近尾聲時，突然間 JJ 身邊多了一位「神秘嘉賓」；竟是前一日 (12/17) 同樣在吉隆坡開唱的 Jackson Wang 王嘉爾！當王嘉爾一出場，全場瞬間歡聲雷動；而 JJ 與王嘉爾的好交情眾所周知，這次兩人更充滿緣分的分別在 17 、 18 號各自在吉隆坡開唱，當時消息一出，其實早就有歌迷敲碗希望能看見彼此出現在對方的演唱會上，沒想到 JJ 在前一天先是在社群貼出了與王嘉爾 4 年前、 4 年後的合照，昨晚更在演唱會現場默默的幫大家圓了這個夢！

而王嘉爾一上台即搞笑戴上工作證，笑說自己剛才就是這樣光明正大的走進現場，並表示：「哥辦演唱會，弟當然要來。」 JJ 配合度滿分回說：「我還在想說你是怎麼進來的，我還已經跟他們說你不來了！」接著 JJ 又提到：「好難得我們可以同時在一個地方、還同時出現在這個舞台上，我們是好朋友有段時間了，但這是你第一次出現在我的演唱會！」而這難得的同台， JJ 也與王嘉爾首度合唱兩人先前的合作曲〈過 (Should've Let Go) 〉，再創《 JJ20 》經典現場。

演唱會接近尾聲， JJ 感性的提到在這 20 年間，每個因為音樂所相遇的人、事、物，都讓他格外珍惜，也因為有這樣難得的緣分，他一直以來都把握著每個與大家相處及見面的時光。 JJ 也在演唱會特別感謝在音樂路上對他至關重要的林秋離老師， JJ 說道：「他曾經跟我說：『 JJ ，你在現實生活中是個長不大的孩子，但是在音樂世界裡，你可以非常的瀟灑、可以角色扮演、可以當個英雄。』於是我們一起完成了很多經典作品，如〈 江南〉、〈曹操〉、〈殺手〉、〈新地球〉 等等；他是我在音樂領域的英雄；雖然老師在 12/12 離開了我們，但我會繼續努力，期許自己不要辜負他，林老師我會想你。」語畢音樂響起， JJ 90 度鞠躬好一陣，接著唱合作的〈不為誰而作的歌〉，間中數度哽咽，讓台下觀眾萬分不捨。

演唱會最後， JJ 則以〈一千年以後〉為演唱會劃下句點。《 JJ20 》世界巡迴演唱會接著將在 2023 年前往美加、歐洲 ... 等各地城市演出。
