Julien Doré is a nice bit of crumpet. As a 24 year old, straight, British male, I have to confess that there is a hysterical 15 year old French school girl that wants him to shower me with Beaujolais, pick me flowers, picnic with me in July on the banks of the Seine, whisk me away on the back of his moped and treat me like the Maltese terrier he is cradling in the video clip for Kiss Me Forever.

He’s the ultimate French pinup. He looks like what Serge Gainsbourg might have had he avoided those innumerable cigarettes and transgressive poetry. He’s pure, lovely, unadulterated. Like cherub’s piss personified.

Who better to perform at the delicate old dame of Paris’s 4th Arrondissement, the Hotel de Ville at the Fnac mini-festival? It was, admittedly, my first exposure to this extraordinary gentleman. I was there to see the headliner, MØ, and another French act I quite like, La Femme.

But he blitzed me with pop, as if I were the panel for Nouvelle Star, which by the way he’s famous for winning, and I was an instant convert.

Brilliant showman and selection of songs and plenty of encores. Stage and lighting design was a great surprise - on par with Coldplay. And Julien really kept the crowd going. Fab night!

Julien Doré , né le 7 juillet 1982 à Alès, France, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète et musicien français . Il s'est imposé comme une figure incontournable de la musique contemporaine en France. Sa créativité artistique, sa présence scénique distinctive et son style singulier ont contribué à son ascension fulgurante.

Un début de carrière dans "La Nouvelle Star"

La carrière de Julien Doré a décollé en 2007 lorsqu'il a participé à l'émission télévisée de M6"La Nouvelle Star". Sa personnalité excentrique, sa voix envoûtante et son talent musical l'ont fait gagner la compétition. Cette victoire a marqué le début de sa carrière musicale et lui a offert une plateforme pour exprimer son art au grand public.

Évolution de sa carrière musicale

Par la suite, il sort d'autres albums, chacun d’eux dépeignent son évolution artistique au fil du temps. Il a exploré divers styles musicaux, fusionnant des sonorités pop, folk et rock, démontrant ainsi sa polyvalence artistique.

Three years after his sell-out tour performed in front of 500,000 fans, concluding with two dates at the Accor Arena, Julien Doré is back with a major new tour. On his latest album, Aimée, he revealed his own vision of the world, with plenty of self-deprecating humour.

News: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event organisers and the Accor Arena announced that the Julien Doré concerts, initially scheduled for 25 and 26 November 2021, are postponed until 8 and 9 April 2022.

All existing tickets remain valid for the new dates, as follows:

Tickets for 25 November 2021 are valid only for the concert of 8 April 2022.

Tickets for 26 November 2021 are valid only for the concert of 9 April 2022.

About the artist

Born in Alès, in the Gard, in 1982, Julien Doré formed his first band in 2002. Known as Dig Up Elvis, he performed for beers in his local bars. Julien Doré’s big success came in 2007 when he won France’s version of The X Factor, La Nouvelle Star. His first single was an intimate rock cover of “Moi Lolita” by Alizée. His second, “Les Limites” (and its parody video) came ahead of his hotly anticipated album, Ersatz, in 2008. His 2013 album LØVE, which featured duets with Brigitte and another with Micky Green, proved an incredible success. In 2016, the singer-songwriter left to recharge his batteries in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, Alpes-Maritimes, where he wrote and recorded the album “&”, which launched with the single, “Le Lac”, featuring an appearance by Pamela Anderson. That was swiftly followed by two more tracks from the album: “Sublime & Silence” and “Mon Echo”. A fourth track released in May 2017, “Coco Câline”, proved to be a real hit. After three years away from the scene and more than 1m albums sold between LØVE and “&”, Julien Doré is back with his most recent album, Aimée. Aimée, a girl’s name meaning “beloved” in French, is a tribute to his mother and grandmother, who both share this first name.
