Sail with ‘the love boat’ famous original tv cast on princess cruises.

Feeling the love? Seas the day and time travel to yesteryear with future-forward Princess Cruises , when the original cast of TV’s iconic The Love Boat show—which aired for a decade on ABC; now streaming on Paramount Plus , Apple TV+ and other channels—sets sail from New York City on a round-trip voyage that anchors at picturesque ports in New England and Canada aboard the Enchanted Princess, August 31 - September 7, 2024 .

Original cast of The Love Boat.

This romance-themed rendezvous reunites actors Jill Whelan (whose role as Vicki Stubing, the ship captain’s daughter, was delightful), Bernie Kopell (as Doc), Fred Grandy (as purser Gopher) and Ted Lange (as bartender Isaac). They will interact with passengers at multiple events: a jubilant sail-away; a meet-and-greet, photo-and-autograph session; guests’ activities replete with prizes; and Q&A gatherings. There will also be a symbolic renewal of passengers’ wedding vows, officiated by the cast, with commemorative certificates.

Princess Cruises arranges wedding vow renewals.

In addition, classic comedy-drama episodes of The Love Boat will be shown at its Movies Under The Stars program outdoors on a gargantuan screen. The Love Boat trivia contests will be cheered. And cocktails to complement The Love Boat vibe will be toasted. Ezra Freeman, Princess Cruises’ real-life bartender who starred on The Real Love Boat —a reality-dating series that premiered on CBS in 2022; now streaming on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime —will join this spirited celebration.

The Love Boat: A Top Travel Influencer

This popular series (from the 1970s and ‘80s) introduced millions of American TV viewers to cruising, propelling the rise of passenger ships by showcasing life on the high seas as a fun, festive, fashionable, family-friendly and romantic vacation choice. It transformed travel horizons. Episodes spotlit a lively array of well-known guest-star celebrities. Story lines varied, but plots always concluded happily, further solidifying its audience draw. Now in worldwide syndication, reaching more than 90 countries, original The Love Boat episodes have been translated into more than 30 languages.

Ship-Shape Interview: Jill Whelan

Actor Jill Whelan, who is now a Celebrations Ambassador for Princess Cruises, and I talked about her passion for sailing.

Laura Manske: Two years ago, Princess Cruises orchestrated its first The Love Boat theme reunion, which sailed the Mexican Riviera. There continues to be strong sentimentality for its original cast.

Jill Whelan: Anytime I get together with my cast mates, it’s like coming home because we’re family. I truly mean that. This will be our second theme cruise since 2022. We were all touched and overwhelmed by the incredible response from guests. Nostalgia for the show still gets people excited. Princess was the ocean-going co-star of The Love Boat. That is unique.

Manske: Your key anticipated moments with passengers ahead?

Whelan: Well, certainly our cast reunion in the Princess Theater, when we will share our favorite memories, laugh a lot and take questions from the audience. The renewal of vows we host is also incredibly sweet. So many couples renew their love for one another on The Love Boat . We get to play a part in their special day.

Jill Whelan (as Vicki Stubing) with the late Gavin MacLeod (as Captain Stubing), her TV dad.

Manske: You starred on The Love Boat aboard the Pacific Princess from the age of 11 onward.

Whelan: I was so young. Gavin MacLeod welcomed me with open arms and such warmth and love, as I was playing his daughter. Remember, I was coming into an already hit show and I was the youngest. So romance wasn’t a cornerstone of my storyline just yet. But Gavin made me feel at ease, as did all of the cast members. I remember trying to take it all in, learn from everyone who came on set and appreciate the places we visited on our Princess cruises.

Manske: How did the show influence your views about romantic love as a teen growing up with this series.

Whelan: I did have my first kiss on The Love Boat . Let’s just say it wasn’t as magical as I’d hoped. As Gavin always said: ‘The show gave people something to dream about.’ I did fall in love with the romance of the sea and connecting with people on vacation. I guess as any teenager would, I did have fantasies about falling in love and sailing off into the sunset. And that did happen for me when I met my husband, Jeff, in 2016. We can’t cruise enough these days. We absolutely love it!

Manske: Share something, perhaps surprising, that brings you joy.

Whelan: Many of the Princess ships’ horns play The Love Boat theme song. I hear people singing the theme song when I’m onboard—and it makes me smile.

Enchanted Princess.

The 3,660-passenger Enchanted Princess ’s round-trip reunion itinerary from New York City includes days in Newport, Rhode Island; Boston; Rockland, Maine; Saint John, Canada (for the Bay of Fundy); and Halifax, Canada.

The Love Boat reunion trip embarks and disembarks in New York City.

August 8, 2017

Founded in 2013, the award-winning LoveitBookit has grown into one of the UK’s leading cruise specialists, with the team now recording Cruise TV in the University of Salford’s TV studios for daily broadcast on Freeview, Sky and Freesat.

An enthusiastic and dedicated team of Salford students from our  MediaCityUK campus  successfully run the TV gallery for the show. Responsibilities include manning the cameras, creating graphics and directing.

To find out more about this exciting project, I met with BA TV & Radio students Ellie Lightowler and Harris Redgrove. I also spoke to LoveitBookit’s founder and presenter Dan Radnor, and Ameera Hill, Head of Technical Services at the University of Salford.

Hi guys! How did you first get involved with Cruise TV?

The Tech Intern Josh got me involved. Opportunities are posted on a Facebook group and you can sign up and pick the role you want. There’s also a lot of workshops advertised, so I’ve previously attended a lot of those.

To join the Cruise TV team, you get trained up, then there’s shadowing as well. It’s a long process but once you’re on, it’s good!

I worked with Quays News throughout my first year and the Tech Interns Mike and Josh got me involved on some other lower level stuff. I’ve since worked my way up and often direct.

Students working on Cruise TV

What are the differences between Cruise TV and student-led Quays News?

This is like a step up from Quays News as it’s for an actual client. Quays News is really good but it’s also like a stepping stone, you’re always learning while doing it. If you mess something up, it’s OK, whereas with this, if you’ve messed up, that’s it.

If you make a mistake, it’s going out on TV rather than a student news channel. You really don’t want to be making mistakes.

Does this mean that there’s more pressure?

There is a bit of pressure because you don’t want to mess up. As long as you’re confident in what you’re doing, and attend the workshops, you’ll know what to do. It’s good pressure!

Students working on Cruise TV

Do you think this experience will help with your future career?

Definitely. It goes on the CV, it’s paid and you get experience in a number of different roles. Also, I’d never worked on a teleshopping programme before this so it’s all experience.

When I go for jobs after university, I can say I have experience in TV directing. Hopefully, that will put me ahead when job hunting.

I also spoke to LoveitBookit’s founder and presenter of Cruise TV Dan Radnor, to find out about the company’s involvement with Salford students.

Join us at 10am (Freeview 87, Sky 389, Freesat 516) for the new episode of Cruise TV. We've got some amazing deals you won't want to miss. pic.twitter.com/taD4OfFAui — LoveitBookit.com (@LoveitBookit) June 7, 2017

Hi Dan! What made you decide to film Cruise TV at the University of Salford?

We looked at a few different options, studio wise, and then we saw the facilities at the University of Salford and were really impressed.

We also thought it would be a really good project to get the students involved with because they’re creative and dynamic.

How does the studio here compare to others you saw?

The studio and facilities here are very impressive. We’ve found everything very good so far and it’s got a good energy about it. The recording equipment is also top notch and it’s an exciting place to work.

Dan on screen

How have you found working with our students?

It’s great to work with the students. They’re a great bunch of people and we’ve built some really good relationships.

This is a fairly new project for us and obviously the students have been learning along the way too. We’ve learnt together and grown together which is really nice. There’s a lot of enthusiasm which is really appreciated and helps bring great energy to the show.

Ameera Hill, Head of Technical Services at the University of Salford commented on the benefit of projects of this kind.

Hi Ameera! How do projects like this benefit our students?

We are extremely proud of the way we are able to realise the ambitions of both our clients and our students here at MediaCityUK.

Through these types of commercial activities, we can ensure our graduates are preparing for their working life. The ability of the technical team to see an opportunity and then turn this into a viable programme is exactly what we are trying to achieve here at the University of Salford.

You can catch LoveitBookit’s Cruise TV on Freeview 87, Sky 389 or Freesat 516 every day.

‘9-1-1’ Seals Its 100th Episode With A Monumental Same-Sex Buck Kiss

Where to stream:, ‘9-1-1’ and ‘the bachelor’ crossover: joey graziadei and jesse palmer make a wild first impression on the 118, where to watch ‘9-1-1’s 100th episode: stream on hulu and disney+, peter krause shares his dream ‘9-1-1’ crossover — and no, it’s not ‘the bachelor’.

9-1-1 made history Thursday night — and no, I’m not talking about the show reaching its milestone 100th episode or pulling off an exciting Bachelor crossover . Those achievements were both iconic. But I’m here to celebrate the REAL jaw-dropper of Season 7, Episode 4: Evan “Buck” Buckley’s monumental kiss.

Longtime fans of the Fox-turned-ABC drama have been begging 9-1-1 writers to explore the sexuality of Oliver Stark’s character for years, and though impassioned Buddie shippers didn’t get their dream Buck and Eddie pairing in “Buck, Bothered and Bewildered,” the show furthered Buck’s character development with a same-sex kiss that will leave fans howling at their TV screens.

The episode kicked off with Tommy Kinard (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) giving Buck a tour of “the toys” at LAFD Air Operations. Episode 3 saw Buck, Hen (Aisha Hinds), Eddie (Ryan Guzman), and Chimney (Kenneth Choi) enlist the former 118 member’s help — and helicopter — to save Bobby and Athena from their capsized cruise ship, and after Buck admitted the adventure was the most fun he’s had since being struck by lightning, Tommy offered to give him flying lessons. In return, Buck offered to buy Tommy a beer. But just as Tommy was taking a raincheck, Eddie pulled up to meet him for a casual helicopter ride to a sold-out fight in Vegas. Cue this face:

Surprised by the sight of Buck, Eddie asked if his 118 bestie was planning on jumping ship and leaving the station. In response, Buck uttered seven words that not only made me scream, but fanned the bisexual Buck flames to even greater heights: “No. I’m just keeping my options fluid.” Jail for the 9-1-1 writers! (Complimentary.)

The rest of 9-1-1 ‘s hundredth episode saw Buck navigating a complex concoction of emotions and displaying palpable jealousy over Eddie and Tommy’s newfound, accelerated friendship. Sad puppy dog eyes were on full display as Buck took stock of the duo’s shared interests — from their time in the Army and love of “watching half-naked guys pummel each other” to Muay Thai and cars. He barely maintained composure when Eddie asked him to watch Christopher so he could hang with Tommy again . And he torched Toddie (Tommy and Eddie, sorry!) to Maddie after finding “BPUW/Tommy” (Toddie’s weekly basketball pickup game) circled on Eddie’s calendar. GASP!

Fueled by a fiery mix of envy, confusion, and insecurity, Buck rush-ordered a basketball, convinced Chimney to join him on the court, and crashed Toddie’s game. After Chim realized he was Buck’s “basketball beard” (another scream!), Buck went head to head with Eddie, injured him, and further isolated himself from the guys — but not for long.

In the episode’s final minutes, Tommy unexpectedly visited Buck’s apartment to clear the air, prompting Buck to say, “There’s no bad blood, only bad behavior and it’s all on my part. You didn’t do anything wrong. You and Eddie as buddies ( BUDDIES! ) makes perfect sense.” Tommy told “Evan” (help!) he felt bad for excluding him and admitted he was jealous of the 118’s bond, so Buck reminded him he was part of the 118 — he even made fake mouth static at a fire chief to help them save Bobby and Athena. “That’s why I called and asked for the tour,” Buck revealed. “It wasn’t cause of me maybe leaving the 118, Tommy. I just, I wanted to get to know you…And then you left with Eddie, which, you don’t have to tell me how great Eddie is. I’ve known that from the first day I worked with him…”

After Tommy offered to teach him Muay Thai on top of his flying lessons, Buck said, “Good. Cause trying to get your attention is kind of exhausting.” HOT! Tommy’s ears perked up, and after Buck confirmed he was trying — all this time — to get his attention, not Eddie’s, Tommy kissed him mid-sentence in a super sexy, genuinely surprising twist. “That was better than fake mouth static,” Buck adorably gushed, assuring Tommy that the show of affection was welcomed. Though the former 118 member had to race across town for a shift, he adorably asked Buck out for the beer he owes him on Saturday and urged him to call Eddie on his way out.

The episode ended with Buck flashing a hopeful smile that set the stage for an ongoing emotional journey to come — hopefully one ripe with cathartic introspection; freeing growth; and intimate, important conversations with his real and found family.

Though some diehard Buddie believers may initially feel let down by the Bummy (?!) vs. Buddie development, it’s time to trust in Buck’s journey of self-discovery, look back on all the crumbs sprinkled though seven seasons — Maddie’s “boy crush” comment, that TK interaction in the 9-1-1: Lone Star crossover, a stranger assuming he was Christopher’s second dad, etc. — and feel a sense of satisfaction knowing they play into a larger, undeniably meaningful storyline.

Whether or not the exploration of Buck’s sexuality is slowly setting the stage to make Buddie canon as some will inevitably still hope, 9-1-1 finally went where fans were, at times, doubtful that it would. Buck’s long-awaited same-sex kiss sealed a hilarious, historic episode jam-packed with A+ sexual tension, flirty banter, and relatable emotions. That’s cause for celebration. And I, for one, can’t wait to see what comes next.

New episodes of 9-1-1 premiere Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.

Mary & George Nicholas galitzine

Nicholas Galitzine may have told his parents that he has a lot of sex scenes in “Mary & George” with both women and men, but that didn’t keep things from getting awkward when his mom and dad were by his side at the series’ London premiere.

“I was kind of in hysterics because there is nothing more uncomfortable than watching your son bed a number of characters even within the first few episodes,” the British actor, 29, tells me during a wide-ranging conversation on this week’s “ Just for Variety ” podcast.

“Mary & George” chronicles the real-life story of Mary Villiers (Julianne Moore), a woman in 17th century England who was so hungry for power that she successfully pushed her son George (Galitzine) into becoming lovers with King James (Tony Curran). Created by D.C. Moore, the seven-episode series is based on the non-fiction book “The King’s Assassin: The Fatal Affair of George Villiers and James” and premieres on Starz on April 5.

Galitzine believes the sex on the show is “really integral to the plot and not just salacious.” While he also feels a genuine love developed between George and the king, “George’s appetite couldn’t be satiated.”

For the record, Galitzine says he doesn’t follow the news and gossip about today’s royal family. “I think that’s kind of symptomatic of my generation growing up in the U.K.,” he says. Although he does concede, “They’re certainly entertaining.”

Next month, Galitzine headlines Michael Showalter’s “ The Idea of You ” with Anne Hathaway. Galitzine plays Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of a boy band who falls in love with an older woman named Solène (Hathaway) after she brings her daughter to the group’s meet-and-greet at Coachella. The rom-com premiered at South by Southwest in March.

“That was one of the references in my head,” Galitzine says. “I think that’s my favorite scene actually in [‘The Idea of You’] because I think so much about what is talked about with this movie is obviously the more intimate scenes, but really I think the most powerful expression of love is the aftercare in a way and the connection after.”

As for his boy band performances, Galitzine looked to BTS and Backstreet Boys for inspiration. “I always reiterate: I am not a dancer,” he says. “I tried my best over having a few weeks of rehearsal, but these are skills that are honed for the majority of people’s lives. And my boy band members are all professional dancers. So I said, ‘Listen, you old shits, you better not make me look bad, OK?’”

Galitzine’s acting career began when he got a role in a play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. An indie with the late Luke Perry followed. His spotlight grew brighter when he played Prince Charming opposite Camila Cabello in the 2021 movie musical remake of “Cinderella” and as a prince of modern-day England in the queer rom-com “Red, White and Royal Blue,” co-starring Taylor Zakhar Perez .

But then there was his audition for “Dunkirk.” He says he “got very far” in the process. So much so that he was called in to read with director Christopher Nolan. “He starts reading the scene, [but] it’s not the scene that I prepared,” Galitzine recalls. He tried to improvise thinking Nolan may have been testing him, but then he froze. “I’m just staring at him for what feels like an eternity,” Galitzine remembers. “And I finally plucked up the courage to say, ‘I’m sorry, Christopher Nolan, you have the wrong scene or I’d just been royally screwed up by my team.’”

Most recently, there were rumors that Galitzine signed on to play Johnny Storm in “The Fantasic Four” reboot . While Galitzine confirms he had “conversations” about the superhero project, the part eventually went to Joseph Quinn (“Stranger Things”), something Galitzine knew before it was announced because the two are friends. However, Galitzine called his team when the internet speculation got too loud: “I was like, ‘Guys, I’m sure it’s not true, but I have to make certain it’s not true. And they go, ‘Yeah, it’s not true.’”

Perhaps Galitzine will pop up as a guest judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” He was turned on to the show –Crystal Methyd is among his favorite contestants — by his sister. He was once given a drag name — Anita Greencard — by a makeup artist on “Purple Hearts,” his hit Netflix romantic drama with Sofia Carson . A full drag transformation would happen on “Mary & George” when filming was delayed one day due to snowstorm. “My costumer became a drag king and I became a drag queen,” Galitzine says. “We sort of did the makeup for a few hours, and I kind of went around tormenting people…It’s so much joy. And I have to say the talent and the time that goes into doing this, I have so much respect for them.”

You can listen to the full interview with Galitzine above or you can download “Just for Variety” wherever you find your favorite podcasts.

9-1-1′ s Cruise Crisis Concludes: Who Made It Out Alive? And Who Almost Came to Bobby and Athena’s Rescue?

9-1-1 fans can breathe a massive sigh of relief after Thursday’s conclusion to the season’s three-part premiere, now that Bobby and Athena are finally back on land — and back in the saddle. (Bow-chicka-bow-wow!)

Of course, not everyone fared quite as well as the 118’s Mom and Dad this week. For starters, remember that guy who “just wanted to cash out” on the ship? Well, he cashed out all right… from life. He was the episode’s first official victim, leaving just a handful of survivors to make their way off the boat.

Back on land, Hen was determined to promote the rescue efforts, even if she had to take some back channels to get there. But even she wasn’t expecting to run into former 118-er Tommy Kinard (played by Lou Ferrigno Jr.), who played along without hesitation and got Hen on an LAFD helicopter down to Mexico. And Hen was even more surprised to find Buck, Eddie and Chimney already seated in Tommy’s chopper; they weren’t about to send her into a hurricane all by her lonesome.

“Originally, when the 118 needed a pilot to get them to that overturned cruise ship, Lucy was my first thought,” showrunner Tim Minear tells TVLine of Arielle Kebbel’s character, now a member of the LAFD’s air support team. “But she couldn’t be my pilot… because she got a pilot,” he adds, referring to Kebbel’s casting in the Fox lifeguard drama Rescue: HI-Surf.

Minear still needed a pilot, and he “didn’t just want it to be some generic pilot guy that they enlist.” He wanted it to be somebody “who had a connection to the lore of the show.” That’s when Tommy popped into his mind.

In the end, Athena sent up a last-minute flare, alerting the 118 to her location and ensuring that no one else’s life would be lost. Yes, that includes Norman, who somehow managed to survive this ordeal despite bleeding out from a gunshot wound for two straight episodes. Then again, we’re more surprised that his marriage with Lola remained in tact after all of this.

So, what’s next for the 118 after this harrowing ordeal? Next week marks the show’s buzzy “crossover” with The Bachelor , with several of the firefighters responding to an emergency at the reality show’s iconic mansion.

And we can also expect to see more of Tommy. “He’s going to be around for a little bit,” Minear tells TVLine. “He’s not going to be a member of the 118 again, but he is going to be involved in some stories.”

Your thoughts on the 9-1-1 premiere’s dramatic conclusion? Grade it below, then drop a comment with your hopes for the rest of the season.

When the music started playing I half expected to hear Morning After from Poseidon just to be more morbid, I’m kind of glad they didn’t

The Buck and Tommy shot at the end have me thinking they gonna have a connection lol

Wasn’t Tommy still on the 118 when Buck started working there or was it just Chim and Hen? I saw it as the old team getting back together more than anything.

Is that me or Buck and Tommy shared a moment at the end? Why Norman still married to lola? I’m so happy Athena is back on land.

Um, definitely not just you…I’m screaming right now?! LOL. Great episode…Athena and Bobby were SO good together (they’re always good, obviously, but I loved them so much tonight).

this show is never going to give us proper gay male representation…just endless teases from buck/eddie/tommy/whomever. lol

The way I screamed when Buck said “need a lift, Cap?” whime standing shoulder to shoulder with Eddie to save Bobby. I’m glad my neighbors didn’t call 9-1-1. Lol

When the hatch opened to reveal his team I cried. Cried HARD. I knew it was coming but still, I just love them so much.

Poor Wes. IMO, death was too good for Julian. “Hey, Cap.”…two of the best words that were said tonight.

Another great episode.

Are we really supposed to believe that Athena would truly not trust herself to fire a flare into a HUGE hole? The character assassination with 1 line was terrible.

You’ll obviously disagree, but imo, considering the fact that in reality, even the strongest and bravest of people are sometimes capable of having uncharacteristic moments of self doubt or even fear, it can certainly be accepted/believed in a scripted reality.

I don’t think it was out of character. They had one shot. Just one shot. If she slipped or the ship tilted, they were dead. It wasn’t she thought she would miss it was that they only had one chance. And, lo and behold, that happened. Only then was she like, “screw it, I’ve got this”.

They were all way too calm during that whole thing… and most of those life boats should have sunk. Really could have been more believable.

The conclusion to the three part cruise ship disaster was a huge let down and it was underwhelming. After episode two, I was excited to see how it would end but it was choppy and there were plotholes everywhere. The 118 seemed like they were an afterthought and they were just there in the helicopter waiting for Hen but how did they know where she was going? Maddie didn’t even know where she was so it’s interesting they just knew she’d be at air rescue. Hen wasn’t part of the actual rescue and it didn’t seem necessarily beneficial for five people to fly into a hurricane just so they can tout and say they saved Bobby (for the third time in three seasons) and Athena. It was cool to see Bobby do a rope rescue but the rest could have been ommitted. Why was so much time spent on the family with their son Corey? Those scenes could have been left out or introduced before episode three so it wouldn’t have taken up so much time. Furthermore, entirely too much time was given to Tommy Kinard and the show will be better off once he’s gone and he can take Marisol with him. At first I was glad Tim returned but now not so much because he’s doing the same thing Kristen did by focusing on side characters who should have quick storylines and be gone. I don’t care about Norman, Lola, Tommy, Shannon, Connor, Kameron or Marisol or any other recurring characters that haven’t been there since the beginning like Karen because the ensemble cast is large enough. They got more screen time than her. Also, Tim said Lucy was supposed to come back (glad she’s not and she can stay away) but since she’s on another show he brought Tommy back. Everyone should know he’s big on name recognition so bringing back the TV star who played The Hulk’s son is the only reason why he chose him. Baby Boomers and Gen X’ers remember the name Lou Ferigno but that’s his dad. The sooner Tommy leaves the better and if he was brought buck so Buck can hook up with him then it will be Buck 1.0 all over again just with a man instead of him being with random women. Those who are rooting for Buck and Tommy to get together seem to only want Buck to be with a man, any man and it doesn’t matter which one as long as it’s a man. They must have forgotten about Eddie, the man he’s in love with. This storyline isn’t needed because if someone in the viewing audience hasn’t picked up on the fact that Buck is bi they never will because they’re choosing not to see it, the same way they’ve chosen not to see Buck and Eddie romantically. They’ll never be convinced so why try? And the Bachelor crossover is pointless too. It was JLH’s idea but why? It’s just a waste of time because contrary to popular belief, everyone doesn’t watch reality TV and I’ll be skipping next week’s episode especially with that Buck and Tommy BS. It’s sad the 100th episode is going to be another fluke like his coma dream.

We get it, the only reason you watch the show is because you ship Buddie. But most of the viewing audience doesn’t exist in fandom circles, and I hate to break it to you, but that’s who the show is catered towards.

First of all, I watch the show because I like it so don’t try to insinuate anything about why I watch because you don’t know me. My assessment was fair and balanced and not once did I mention Buddie as a ship. I said I don’t like useless recurring characters but apparently you do so good for you. Second of all you’re probably one of those audience members who sees Buck and Eddie as friends because you have self-inserted yourself in bed with them. If you would have read my entire post instead of skimming it like it was cliff notes then you would know that I didn’t like the episode because it was discombobulated and there were potholes in it but you’re one of those who sees what you want to see so kick rocks and beat it please and take several seats.

Funny that you spout off about me insinuating things then go ahead and do the exact same thing with even less to back you up. You didn’t have to mention Buddie. The second you went off on how much Tommy was featured, and the ‘Buck and Tommy BS’ that isn’t even on the general audience’s radar, you made it incredibly obvious you’re a shipper. It’s not subtle. I don’t ship Buddie because I personally can’t stand Buck. I’m all for a repressed Eddie storyline if the show ever decides to go there, and honestly I don’t mind if Buddie eventually becomes a thing, it’s just not a pairing that I’m gunning for myself. I did read your whole rant. I actually agreed with some of it. But this show has always focused on the emergencies. That’s how it started. We fell in love with the main characters and it’s natural that we want to see more of their storylines, but the emergencies are always going to be what’s heavily featured, and that means there will always be a lot of secondary characters featured. If you take away the scenes that humanize the people going through a crisis, it takes away the emotion behind them being saved. People used to blame Kristen Reidel, and she certainly had her issues. But now that Tim is back in charge, and that’s still the format, maybe it’s time for people to accept it.

This will be my last reply to you! Here’s and idea, instead of you analyzing and critiquing my post, why don’t you create your own that allows you to explain why you believe the episode was good? I guess you won’t since all you want to do is argue and try to prove a point, even though I’m not sure what that is. I’m part of 9-1-1’s audience just like you but I’m not part of the fandom so it’s perplexing to me why people can’t just state their opinions without someone like you trying to force them to think the way you do. Unless you work for the show, your ideas about each episode are just like mine, an opinion which means their yours and yours alone. But also you should remember no one has to agree with you just like no one has to agree me. I watched the episode, I included multiple reasons why I didn’t like it and why I don’t like Tommy Kinard. Nothing has changed since I wrote my original post last night, I still don’t like the character and I won’t no matter how long he stays around, therefore you and no one else can convince me otherwise. Furthermore, I don’t do back and forths or argue because it’s unnecessary and it’s a waste of my time. Finally, I’ll end with this final question/quote from Joan Collins in a movie from the 1950s. “What’s the matter “anon” did I hit a nerve?” LOL. I suppose I did since you won’t just accept that we don’t agree on this specific topic. You’re more than welcome to type a post that explains why you liked episode three if you choose. And now you can because I included what I typed in my orginal post because that’s how I viewed the episode as being discombobulated, disjointed and underwhelming and it included three recurring characters I’d rather not see on my screen again but you’re the one won’t move on.

Girls! Girls! You’re both pretty!

@AJ, I for some reason can’t reply to your post, but thanks for that, it gave me a really good laugh. I’m not upset, nor am I really trying to change anyone’s minds. I have literally no stake in this game since I watch 9-1-1 to get a good laugh at how poorly researched their responses to the emergencies are, and that won’t be changing anytime soon. Somewhere along the line I fell in love with most of the characters too. But the shipper drama in this fandom has gotten so toxic. People need to take a deep breath.

Some of you need to calm down and let this play out. Buddie is a beautiful relationship that I fully support but it’s not easy to bring two canonically straight characters together, especially when they weren’t as close as usual in recent seasons. A lot of people see romantic chemistry and subtext in their scenes but a lot of people don’t. You need a story like this to show people it’s actually a possibility and not just bros. You are going to sabotage it by attacking and downvoting anyone who says a positive thing about a new character or bisexual story because it’s not immediately what you want. I can promise, the people in charge will just view it as objections to the bisexuality aspect and you will never see what you want.

As I mentioned in my original post, those who don’t see it are choosing not to and it’s likely if they do, they don’t want it to happen for whatever reason. Also, just because you think it has to go a certain way for the audience to understand it doesn’t make it so. And just so you know, based on the synopsis for episode 4, Buck and Tommy probably won’t be a thing since Buck’s going to be jealous of Eddie’s bond with Tommy. I won’t be responding to anymore of your replies so don’t waste your time. You can continue to watch the show how you want to and I’ll do the same.

Why don’t you get a job as a writer and then write the show yourself. All the things going on in the world today and you can just relax for an hour and not complain whine and just escape into a tv show. Goodness some of you need some serious therapy.

I know you were trying to be SARCASTIC but I can too and this response is just for you.

I would ABSOLUTELY love to write for 9-1-1 and I bet you would love every episode because I would make sure the timing and pacing was were it used to be in seasons 2 and 3. And maybe you should take your own advice about needing therapy especially if you need to watch a TV show to escape your life. I won’t respond to anymore of your responses because I need to fill out an application to become a writer for 9-1-1.

Wow! Wow! Wow! 911 hit it out of the park with these three episodes. Well done!

Who would have thought that 911 could have switch networks and still be wonderful

Same writers, same cast. Why would the network it airs on matter?

Same writers, same cast, but different network execs. Different network execs can sometimes have different demands and expectations. In this case that doesn’t seem to apply.

Love this show.

I just love all thecast on this show and just love my Diva Angela Bassett ❤️ love love this show i watch all the past episodes on Hulu

This show no longer appears to be a drama show but is bordering on becoming a comedy. They should have hired a technical consultant on cruises before filming this arc. The lifeboats used were a joke, straight out of what was used in the days of the Titanic. Modern day lifeboats are enclosed and they each have a transponder (which could have been used to track the ship) and emergency beacons. The fact that power was still on in the ship was a joke also. I can suspend a little disbelief for a story but they are pushing the limits. And the previews for the next episode show they will also go down the comedy line by crossing over with The Bachelor and someone gluing themselves to the driveway.

I read an article that said none of the scenes were filmed on an actual cruise ship and it makes so much sense now.

I didn’t understand what the crooks was looking for to shoot up the ship and shooting people. However I am happy Athena and Bobby are safe and at home.

They wanted a flashdrive with access to millions of dollars of cryptocurrency on it. They thought Norman had it, but it was actually the cruise director.

Thank God 911 is back!!! Thank you ABC!!! Keep it coming!!!!

Worst three episodes of this series which I love. It felt like a horrible remake of the Poseidon Adventure. Too far fetched! Too many things happened at once: terrorists, hurricane, ship flipped over, etc. Get back to basics. 911 can do better than that.

I didn’t hate the episodes but I do agree that too many things were happening at once. They could have bypassed the entire terrorists storyline and stuck with the weather in my opinion. I suspect that we will see or hear something about that storyline later in the season since the bad guys got away…….

If it wasn’t for the terrorists, they wouldn’t have been in the path of the hurricane (since they were turning the ship around) so none of that would have happened.

I LOVE 911 BEEN WATCHING IT FROM THE FRIST EPISODE THANKS FOR A GREAT SHOW.

Laughable script, terrible acting and ridiculous premise. It is 3 hrs of my life I can’t get back. The show previously was entertaining but not any more.

I don’t like tearing shows apart. I’m watching 911 because I love the show, and it helps me to escape what is going on in my life. Yes, there was some things that stuck out to me but it’s a tv show not a movie. 911 is my favorite show. I will continue watching as long as they remain making shows. Thank you ABC for keeping it alive.

I loved the cruise episodes, they were really well done but I’m happy they are going back to regular episodes next week. I’m excited for the 100th episode.

Well, it was different, but I felt like it verged on being ridiculous. Good thing they have a solid cast because they saved a ludicrous story line. I’m just glad they didn’t do the Shelley Winters swimming under water stuff.

The part 3 episodes for 911 was really good. The love scenes were dope and I like the pair Athena and Bobby. The boat cruise was exciting and full of excitement and edge to seats moments. The entire show is great. Being a first responder myself I love what I do. Kuddos to the writers and production team and all of the cast and crew.

Love this show, how can one watch the shows that already aired??

As usual the show had every component. There was suspense comedy and drama. As I always root for the underdog. And I love the compilation of characters that make the show a sensational hit. I love to see more of Tommy as he was the knight in shining armor that came in to rescue the crew

Maryland reached a $1.3 million settlement with Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd. over canceled Capital Jazz "SuperCruise" sailings in 2021 and 2022, according to the attorney general's office.

The attorney general's office said Maryland-based Capital Jazz Inc. sold tickets to the cruises, which were ultimately canceled during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Royal Caribbean told WBALTV.com that Capital Jazz canceled the cruises and that guests booked tickets through the charter client directly.

Royal Caribbean told WBALTV.com that to ensure customers who did not get refund from the charter client, RCCL is stepping in to refund them.

"Consumers deserve a refund when a business fails to deliver, even in unforeseen circumstances like the pandemic," Attorney General Anthony Brown said in a statement. "Our Consumer Protection Division strives to ensure consumers are protected when businesses fail to return consumer money for goods and services they never receive."

According to the settlement, Royal Caribbean is also paying $100,000 to the attorney general's office.

As part of the settlement, Royal Caribbean also agreed to update its Resale Cruise Ticket Contracts and website to inform consumers of their ability to get refunds, including under recent changes to the Federal Maritime Commission's regulations, according to the attorney general's office.

Capital Jazz is not a party to the settlement.

Royal Caribbean told WBALTV.com that the settlement reached also settles its lawsuit against the charter company.

Consumers who have not received a refund related to the Capital Jazz SuperCruises do not need to take any action, the attorney general's office said. Consumers who have not yet received a refund will receive a check in the mail within the next three months.

Consumers who have questions about the settlement can call the attorney general's office at 410-528-8662.
