McCombs Coaches: Reviews

Fantastic experience: Our driver Karl was a first class driver, not only that he was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Couldn't have wished for better. Trip was good value for money.

Fantastic experience: We have done many bus tours around the isle of Ireland and this company has been by far the best: our driver and guide (Ryan) was very kind, punctual, organised, and was tirelessly sharing facts during the entire outbound journey. On the way back he let us sleep we were all exhausted from having a wonderful day! He was also the only driver we've had so far who did not threaten to leave us behind if we were 5mins late to return to the bus at a stop. We did the Giant's Causeway tour: we had a few smaller stops before and after the main sight: 15-30min photo stops at some castles, the Caves of Cashendun (very impressive) and The Dark Hedges. We spent 2h at the Giant's Causeway; more than enough time to explore the area, take in the scenery, climb the rocks and take photos. 100% recommended! Wear hiking boots and pants you don't care much about as the way towards the caves is covered in washed away seaweed and is very slippery, and the ground at the Giant's Causeway is muddy and will splash on the bottom part of your pants. I was wildly unprepared for the terrain, in Vans and bootcut jeans and regretted it

Fantastic experience: Amaizing! Patrick did a hell of a job! Kept the vibe going and funny ! Gave us great advise on the locations we visited ! Super smooth driving , amaizing story telling and engagement ! Definitely to recommend !

Fantastic experience: Thank you Stuart and McCombs for a brilliant tour today! We visited the Giants Causeway and many other amazing sites around Northern Ireland. Stuart was a brilliant guide and driver - couldn’t have been a better day!

Fantastic experience: Did the Giants Causeway tour with the combo ticket for the Titanic Experience as well, saving a few £ which makes sense. The tour was well organised, but arrive early at the hostel pick up location if you want to get on the first coach, they run at least 2 coaches most days I think and they like to stagger the departure times , we left about 8.15 with the 2nd coach about 20 min behind all day so the parking and sites are managed. Loads of good stops at interesting places and Karl the driver was informative and funny with his commentary No pressure selling of other attraction tickets or lunch stop at the pub, you can buy sandwiches at a village Spar before the lunch stop if you don't want pub food (is good value btw) so don't worry. Note, coaches cannot go to Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge any more but that does not detract from the trip. Tip - visitor centre at the Giant's Causeway and audio guides not really worth it or necessary IMHO. I am a member of NT so had the guide and looked around but it maybe isn't worth £13.50. overall, a very good day out and recommended

Fantastic experience: What an amazing day. Patrick was our tour guide and we absolutely loved the commentary throughout our tour. We saw more than we expected to and had such fun visiting all the sites.

Fantastic experience: We had a tour to the giants causeway, our tour guide was Karl. Coach was very comfortable and clean. Karl gave lots of information when going around, all the stops were great and we had enough time to look around. Would deffentily book again & to visit other places, only thing I would say is that we couldn't hear him very well at times, I think this was due to being near the engine and a family talking behind us but that's not at the fault of Karl.

Fantastic experience: Chose McCombs of the many Giants Causeway tours and we definitely made the right choice. Visited all the key sights on our trip up the Northern Irish coast over 9.5 hours. Our driver Karl was an absolute legend. We never got tired of listening to his insightful commentary and learnt loads about Northern Ireland and it's history - particularly The Troubles. If you're questioning which tour company to go with - you can't go wrong with McCombs. Fingers crossed Karl is your driver

Fantastic experience: Excellent day trip to see the coastline and visit the Giants Causeway. Stopping at many spots along the way to take photos. 10/10 for our driver & guide Ray who gave us lots of information along the way.

Fantastic experience: Karl was the best! He’s funny, friendly and a wealth of information regarding ‘Nireland’. A lovely trip in the most beautiful area of Ireland!

Fantastic experience: This was the highlight of our 2 week trip. Loved our tour guide Ray! He was so informative about all the sights. I definitely appreciate the small things like letting us know where we can find bathrooms along the way. The scenery is beautiful and we were so lucky to go on a sunny day. Definitely worth going on this tour if you don’t want to do a drive on your own.

Fantastic experience: Visited Northern Ireland with my friends and family. Loved the trip for Giant Causeway from Belfast with McCombs. Special mention to this gentleman Patrick who made this whole journey memorable with his anecdotes and funny jokes. I would definitely recommend this trip to others !

Fantastic experience: We did the tour from Belfast to Giant's Causeway. Ray was great throughout and gave us a lot of information about the history of Northern Ireland

Fantastic experience: Giants Causeway day tour. Our Driver Ray was so brilliant. His driving and commentary was outstanding.

Fantastic experience: Our driver patrick was amazing, full of fun and bucketloads of information throughout the whole trip. The day was packed with amazing sights and stops, the coach was spacious and comfortable. Great value for money and would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous bus tour to the giants causeway with McCombs on Monday and thought it was fantastic. The coach itself was really comfortable, the route and destinations where great and the driver we had, Ray, was just brilliant, his commentary was interesting, detailed and funny and non stop. Favourite stops where of course the giants causeway, but the cushin dun caves and the dark hedges were highlights too. It was a birthday too and the company went out of there way to acknowledge this and make it special! We would highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Karl, you were a trouper. I haven't laughed so much on a day tour in a while. Your wit, your knowledge was greatly appreciated. Thanks for entertaining us and making the Giants Causeway Tour on the 26th Of September worth the while. And your recommendations were excellent.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely incredible tour to the giants causeway and other areas in Northern Ireland. Patrick our guide could not have been better, he was friendly, funny and informative and made our day out really great.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely spectacular tour! Karl, our guide, was funny, knowledgeable, kind and a fantastic driver! He made the tour even better than I could have imagined! The views of the coastline were breathtaking. The Giant’s Causeway hike was stunning and something I’ve been wanting to experience for decades. It didn’t disappoint. The bus runs on a perfectly timed schedule with plenty of stops for toilets, snacks, coffee and to stretch your legs. If you are in Belfast, be sure to book this tour. Consider yourself exceptionally lucky if Karl is your guide and driver.

Fantastic experience: McCombs Tour Coach driver, Paul is THE best! One need not be a Game of Thrones fan to enjoy this tour. They visit the sights one would see anyway along the Antrim Coast drive. The benefit is that someone highly familiar with the route does the navigating and driving. The views along this drive are scenic and memorable! The highlights were Bushmills Distillery and the Giant's Causeway. I would like to take the time to acknowledge a couple of your team members. My husband and I along with another couple were part of your recent Game of Thrones coach tour on Tuesday, 6 June. Taylor greeted everyone at your office on Donegal and was extremely friendly and efficient. She had everyone boarded so we could set off a bit earlier than scheduled - a big plus! That's where Paul, our coach driver, took over. He is a tremendous value to the team! The knowledge he shared was both interesting and humorous - a gift I've seen in only a select few. He was pleasant, mindful of our safety and such a joy to have guided us along the Antrim Coast and back to Belfast. Because of his exceptional skills and fabulous sense of humor, I recommend the tour to others. I do hope you realize how extremely fortunate you are to have Paul on your team!

Fantastic experience: We went on a coach tour to giants causeway/game of thrones. Karl our driver was very friendly, keeping us well informed,he even promised us the sunshine which he delivered . Recommended places to eat and visit in belfast which was very helpful

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience, wonderful trip to Bushmills, cushendun and Dark Hedges

Fantastic experience: The driver is excellent orator. Must choose them. Their stopping restaurant has GOT chair and food was excellent.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic tour, especially since taking a guided tour is not our way of traveling. Yes, time was limited at each place visited, but we booked the tour knowing this. Our driver and guide, Patrick, was absolutely brilliant! He was very knowledgeable of each place we visited and gave us information about how to navigate all of the stops. He had a great sense of humor and a very pleasant personality. He very much made the trip a fun and enjoyable experience. I hope he makes it to Albuquerque someday to visit the land of Breaking Bad. Consider yourself lucky if your trip with this touring company includes him!

Fantastic experience: Excellent tour provided by Patrick! Everything was clearly explained for easy understanding of what to expect, and multiple tips were provided to make the most of each stop. Brought my adult daughter who is cognitively disabled and she felt very welcomed and comfortable throughout the journey. There are places to rest for those who cannot make the treks to the sights. This was our first bus tour ever and it was FAR better than expected!

Fantastic experience: We had such a lovely day with McCombs taking us up the beautiful Antrim coast. Ray, our amazing driver, regaled us with stories and information on each of the areas we passed through, places we visited, and people of those places. He had the patience of a Saint with very inconsiderate passengers who were constantly late back to the bus, bless him. Coach was comfortable with all the mod cons. Great price to pay for what was a fabulous day. Thank you for making my birthday, Ray

Fantastic experience: Strongly recommend the Giant’s causeway day trip, both the sights and the scenery along the way are pleasing to the eye. Our driver and tour guide today is Ian. I can't imagine how he introduces the history and attractions of Northern Ireland while driving(also not forgetting make us laugh). Ian is great! On the way back, we were all so tired that we almost fell asleep (I believe that Ian, who is the driver and tour guide, will only be more tired), but Ian still gave us introductions in good spirits. Ian deserves five stars!

Fantastic experience: Did a fabulous tour today to The Giants Causeway, seeing lots of interesting things along the way, and I would definitely recommend this tour. The driver, Karl, was full of information, considerate, organised and funny too. The standard of driving was excellent too, and I felt very safe aboard the coach. There were plenty of stops for picture taking, refreshments and all the toilets were very decent.

Fantastic experience: We did the Giant Causeway Fully guided tour and it was so worth it and more!! Our guide was Karl, he was so knowledgeable, funny and made the whole experience enjoyable. There are stops along the way for pictures, coffee and using the restroom. You also see some of the sites where they filmed Game of Thrones. Such a worthwhile experience!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic trip, we were lucky enough to have Patrick as our driver, who was amazing throughout the whole day, so knowledgeable and a wonderful driver. 10/10 Patrick, we loved you! Can't wait to return

Fantastic experience: Patrick was an exceptional tour guide - the best you could ask for. He was charming, witty, engaging and extremely knowledgeable about Northern Ireland, it’s history, geography and beyond. He worked incredibly hard to deliver a wonderful tour to explore the main tourist attractions in the North of Northern Ireland. He was full of insightful tips and helpful advice that made the 10 hours fly bye. I would thoroughly recommend the tour to anyone wanting to see a different side to Northern Ireland, outside of Belfast.

Fantastic experience: We did the Giant’s Causeway tour, and this tour should be on your bucket list! The locations and views are stunning. Ian was a great guide. He gave us a lot of historical information and it was always clear when and where to meet back up with the bus. so felt like we had plenty of time at each location and there were so many beautiful places to see.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with this tour and reasonably priced. Main stop was at the Giants Causeway which was interesting and impressive. Driver ? Patrick was very good with clear instructions. Stopped at the Fullerton Arms for lunch. Tour from 8.30am to 6pm. Recommend.

Fantastic experience: Our guide, Patrick, was amazing. Never had a dull moment on the bus. We are so glad we booked this tour because we learned so much about the places we visited, plus Patrick gave us tips on where to go for the best spots to take photos! We would definitely recommend our friends to book from this company should they plan to visit Northern Ireland

Fantastic experience: Our guide, Patrick, was amazing. Never had a dull moment on the bus. We are so glad we booked this tour because we learned so much about the places we visited, plus Patrick gave us tips on where to go for the best spots to take photos! We would definitely recommend our friends to book from this company should they plan to visit Northern Ireland ????

Fantastic experience: The tour from Belfast to the Giants Causeway with various other stops on the way was incredibly well thought through, with the right cadence of rests. Patrick, our guide, was a great mix of entertainment, information, and care. And the caves and Causeway were awe-inspiring, to see the least.

Fantastic experience: We are really lucky to have chosen McCombs coaches for our Day trip. Our driver cum guide, Karl, was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. He ensured we have a great day and stopping at several points, a few snapshots is attached. They were professional and on time with luxury coach full of people. I would personally thank Karl and rest of their team for the memorable trip. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The Giant’s Causeway day trip (from Belfast) is great value (30 quid)! Nice, spacious bus & plenty of stops along the way at cool spots (as well as plenty of time allowed to spend at the causeway! Our driver/tour guide (Karl I believe) was super knowledgeable & interesting. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting the causeway from Belfast.

Fantastic experience: We use McCombs for our day trip to the Giant’s Causeway from Belfast and we had a wonderful time. Our driver Patrick was entertaining, knowlegeable and funny. We left Belfast at 8:30 and came back at 17:30, with ample time to visit the Causeway and many other locations along the route. The driver made several pit stops which allows us to stretch our legs, go to the bathroom or grab a coffee. I highly recommend this company for your next visit to Northern Ireland.

Fantastic experience: I am writing a review for the private tour my wife and I had by Desmond 'Desi' Fiddis to the Cliffs of Moher from Belfast. Desi is a true gem, a consummate professional and someone who anyone would be lucky to have a beer with. We were picked up from our room in Belfast where Desi then drove us to the Cliffs of Moher. The positive vibe Desi had from the moment we met him was a treat. He took a true interest in our family history and we really appreciated that. On the way to the Cliffs he stopped by multiple pubs and stores so I could have a beer(s) before arriving. The trip was memorable and the favorite part of our two week stay in Ireland. If you want to have a unforgettable time to where you want to go ask for Desi.

Fantastic experience: Wow! So happy my family and I had the privilege of spending this day with Steve in North Ireland! Steve lead a private tour for my family of 6 from our cruise port in Belfast to all the sites we wanted to see (that we could fit in one day) into our trip! We enjoyed such a nice mix of local culture, beautiful sites like the Giant's Causeway, ancient sites like Dunluce Castle and the caves with the more modern CS Lewis memorial in Belfast. We loved it all and quite enjoyed Steve's local knowledge, friendly demeanor and service. Additionally we were able to enjoy most places before the larger tour busses arrived! I found communication with the company to set up the trip timely and always helpful.

Fantastic experience: Spent an all day tour with this company who took us all over the Causeway coastal route. It was a fantastic tour, our driver Patrick was brilliant. His knowledge and his time keeping along with his driving were a lot better than his jokes but I would still highly recommend him along with McCombs. Patrick is a real credit to their business. P.s; Patrick's jokes were still funny.

Fantastic experience: Visiting Belfast with my son (via Edinburgh) and this was such a fun experience. Our driver and guide, Patrick, really made it special. Telling us stories (as if sharing with friends for the very first time) and making sure we were staying on schedule. I loved the drive up the coast and short stops along the way. Game of Thrones locations and the spectacular Giants causeway made the journey very memorable. Highly recommend tour and Patrick!

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely coach trip to the Giants Causeway visiting Game of Thrones locations on the way with driver Steven. He was extremely knowledgeable, and strict on time keeping which is really useful when on these kind of tours. Wouldn't hesitate to use this company again in the future for other tours when visiting Belfast.

Fantastic experience: Great day out to Giants Causeway with the brilliant Derek who did a great job looking after us despite having technical difficulties with the coach. We came back with much more knowledge and having seen the best the Antrim coast has to offer

Fantastic experience: Derek is an excellent driver. His enthusiasm and energy never wavered through-out the tour. Very scenic drive. The bus is comfortable. It has a usb port for charging phones. Be on time so you can sit in the front.

Fantastic experience: The tour was wonderful, taking us to a number of spectacular locations well worth seeing whether you're actually a Game of Thrones fan or not. If you watch the show it's fun to recognise the locations, but they're all stunning and worthwhile for anyone who's never seen it too. The route up the coast, the sea cliffs, the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, and Giant's Causeway were all amazing to see even with the changeable winter weather. During the travel between places our guide Derek was wonderfully engaging and funny, interspersing humour with interesting facts. It made for a wonderful day trip that I'm incredibly glad I did.

Fantastic experience: Had a blast visiting the different sites in northern Ireland. Our driver Derek was giving nice commentary during the drive between places. This might have been the best coach tour I've had, just like Derek promised l.

Fantastic experience: I chose this tour after reading numerous reviews. You will not be disappointed as everything said is true. The scenery and places chosen are spectacular whether you are a fan of GOT or not. What makes this experience so much more than going by yourself is DEREK!!! Not only can he drive those narrow roads in a huge tour bus with his eyes closed... he will give you history, education, and many jokes as you go from one location to the next. The timing at each location was appropriate and efficient to see many sites in one day. Derek will also refresh your memory by playing the GOT scene prior to going to the filming site. This tour was fantastic and I would not hesitate to recommend this as great value. The lunch at Fullerton’s was delicious and reasonably priced. You will get to see one of the GOT doors there! Derek!!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful day! We can tell how passionate you are about sharing this beautiful country with us!

Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend this tour operator. Our group of two families thoroughly enjoyed our Giants Causeway Tour today. It's guides genuinely do go above and beyond to make pick up and drop off as convenient as possible, and make sure you really do have a great day out. From start to finish our guide Craig was cracking the jokes and just making the atmosphere so relaxed and laid back. He had time for everyone on his coach (and it was at full capacity)... It's amazing value for money -- I would recommend going for the Combi ticket for the visitors centre and the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge as McCombs do a great offer with these too. We're Not Brazil, We're Northern Ireland !!!

Fantastic experience: Had an absolutely amazing time during the Game or Thrones/Giant's Causeway bus tour last Monday. Chauffeur/guide Dereck was amazing, the kind if guy I'd like to see as a guide on any tour. On the tour he told us lots of stuff about the region, showed clips of the GoT sights we were about to visit and told jokes to which he admitted some are funny and some are not. Even if you are not a GoT fan, this tour is still a great way to explore Northern Ireland. You'll see lots of the coastal route and will visit stunning locations. Visiting Northern Ireland at the end of summer turned out to be a great idea. Out of the 8 day stay we only had 1 rainy day. That was the day I took the Mccombs bus tour and it actually fitted the GoT theme well. Who needs blue skies and sunshine anyways, right?

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .

Terribile company and experience

The worst Tour company ever! Also unfriendly and with zero empathy! 4 of us were left behind in Belfast. We were given a pick up Point but because the coach couldn't go down that Street (we were told this by the driver) they left us behind and blamed us for not showing up! Worst part is that I even called them before the pick up time to make sure we were in the right spot. So they told us to get a taxi and meet the coach somewhere else, which turned out to be about 90km away from the pick up Point!! We spent 100GBP for taxi, we missed the first part of the tour and nobody even apologized but just blamed us. When we got to the new pick up Point by taxi, we had to wait in the Rain for almost 30 min for our coach. I asked for a refund of at least the taxi but they refused and kept blaming us for not making sure we were at the right pick up point. Never had this problems with Paddy Wagon, where there is a proper tour guide on the bus who can answer your questions. Mccomb's doesn't have a tour guide, but just the driver who Speaks non stop while people hardly follow him! Terrible experience. A total rip off and impolite staff.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review. We go to great lengths to make it really clear to everyone when they book with us how important it is to be on time for check-in. We must start the tour on time for several reasons, but the three main ones are: 1. It is unfair on the people who go to great effort to be on time to be kept waiting. 2. If we start the tour late we loose time at some of the attractions on the tour. 3. If we don't leave the meeting point on time it is highly likely that we will receive a parking fine. We NEVER encourage, recommend or even suggest getting alternative transport to another place along the tour, and you would not have been told by anyone from our company to do so - for the very reasons you mention above.

Totally 5 stars. Paul the driver&guide are fantastic, funny and really knows about local history. The bus company McComb’s also has a great service. The time arrangement is good, the pub stopped by for lunch taste also better than I expected (lunch is not included in fees) Great view and worth a visit! Thanks

Thank you for your great review! We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your day on our tour

Great day trip to Giants Causeway with McCoombs. Paul the driver told us loads of interesting facts as we went. There were plenty of stops and lunch (extra) was well planned. The weather was kind and stayed dry while we were at the Causeway. Amazing views from the cliff tops. Would really recommend this company. And Paul.

We really appreciate you leaving this review. It's great to hear and lovely to know you enjoyed your day with us!

Went with McCombs Bus company, Ian our guide/driver was excellent, made our trip outstanding, we’ll work a visit

Thanks for leaving your review. Your feedback is great!

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour - pace was good and didn’t feel like we were spending too much or too little time at any of the stops. Ian had a great sense of humour and more importantly knowledge of the sights.

This is great feedback. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Ian did a great job! He was knowledgeable and it felt like he was having a pretty good time taking people around and showing off his country.

Thank you! It's great to hear your feedback

2024 Masters: Phil Mickelson stats, earnings, history and full preview for Masters 2024

mccombs coaches tours

At 53 years old, Phil Mickelson is returning to Augusta to play in the Masters tournament for the 31st time.

Mickelson, who won the tournament in 2004, 2006 and 2010, tied with Brooks Koepka for second in last year's Masters . The two were four strokes behind champion Jon Rahm , and Mickelson pulled into the runner-up spot after shooting a 65 – seven strokes under par – in the final round. It was the best final day the veteran golfer had ever played at Augusta.

Over the last few years, Mickelson has established he's still got what it takes to win, even at 53. In addition to his runner-up finish at the Masters last year, he won the PGA Championship by two strokes in 2021.

Here's everything to know about Lefty heading into the 2024 Masters.

2024 Masters field: Will Akshay Bhatia make it in by winning Texas Open?

What are Phil Mickelson's odds of winning the 2024 Masters?

BetMGM professional golf odds do not have the 53-year-old Mickelson among favorites to win the Masters this year. His odds stand at +12500, tied with the likes of Eric Cole, Harris English, Nick Taylor and Tiger Woods.

What are Phil Mickelson's career earnings, net worth?

Spotrac estimates Mickelson has earned more than $105 million in his career, including more than $96.5 million in official tournaments.

He was the highest-paid sportsperson in 2022 according to Forbes. He earned an estimated $138 million that year.

Off of the course, Forbes estimated that Mickelson has made over $800 million in his career.

Tiger Woods: Golf star's ankle has 'zero mobility,' Notah Begay says before the Masters

Phil Mickelson 2024 golfing performances

Mickelson has played in five LIV Golf tournaments this year – in Mayakoba, Mexico; Las Vegas; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Hong Kong; and Miami – all of which were 54-hole competitions.

The veteran golfer finished outside the top 25 in all tournaments besides Jeddah, where he tied for sixth with a final score of -10. Jeddah was also only one of two contests so far that Mickelson has finished under par, joining Las Vegas (-2).

Lefty finished +8 or worse in the three other LIV competitions so far this year.

Where is Phil Mickelson from?

Mickelson was born and raised in San Diego, California. He currently owns 21 acres of land in Rancho Santa Fe, a census-designated area in the San Diego metropolitan area.

Who is Phil Mickelson's wife, family?

Mickelson is married to Amy Mickelson, a former Phoenix Suns cheerleader who attended Arizona State at the same time as her now-husband.

'Race your race': How Akshay Bhatia remains focused while eyeing second TOUR win

Change Text Size

SAN ANTONIO — The leader of the Valero Texas Open says he doesn’t have all the answers. He’s growing into them.

Akshay Bhatia is a one-time PGA TOUR winner and has been a professional since 2019, but the fact remains: He is only 22 years old. Someone that young might prefer to avoid embracing the stress of leading a tournament after 54 holes, especially with a four-stroke lead. But Bhatia seems to almost thrive on it.

He has certain ways of dealing with it all. For example, on Saturday morning, after he discussed with his sports psychologist the many possibilities, good and bad, that come with playing in the last group with a lead, Bhatia took a black marker and wrote the words “Race Your Race” on his left wrist. It was a reminder for the part of him that is still young and raw.

“I’m just going at my own pace, focusing on myself, keeping the blinders right in front of me,” he said. “I looked at it all the time.”

It seemed to work. Bhatia shot 4-under 68 on a rain-softened TPC San Antonio, growing his lead to four. He made two bogeys, six birdies and a lot of new fans. He said he never let his mind wander into dark places. He relied on the lessons his mental coach, Ryan Davis of the Center for Athletic Performance Enhancement, has been trying to embed. He kept his head up, his eyes straight ahead.

“I was never calm today,” Bhatia admitted, “and it was the hardest thing to deal with. It’s just so hard. You feel so tense, and all these things in your stomach, your mind can kind of go one way. I kept to my game plan.”

Akshay Bhatia drains birdie putt at Valero

The winner of the 2023 Barracuda Championship, Bhatia has a story that many now know. He grew up in California and North Carolina. He skipped college. He wanted the dream of professional golf sooner than most. A lot of it has been hard: the travel, the emotions, the business, the grind, the belief, the faith. He’s growing and leaning into those complexities in ways his peers admire.

“We all battle,” said Brendon Todd, who played with Bhatia in the third round. “Golf is an emotional, stressful sport. That’s why we love it.”

Bhatia, Todd said, projects a quiet sense of duty — as if his acceptance of the difficulty of tournament golf strengthens him.

His conversations with Davis, by phone or on Zoom, help him find his way. He does so at his own pace. They talk about more than golf shots or winning tournaments, Bhatia said. They talk about the things a 22-year-old might not understand yet about performing under difficult conditions and learning to love that life choice regardless of whether he succeeds.

“I’ve never had an easy life growing up,” Bhatia said. “So anytime anyone sees, ‘Oh, this kid’s making a ton of money, he’s playing on the PGA TOUR, he’s won on the PGA TOUR, that’s just not it. There’s so much more to it than just golf.”

But the golf? This week, there’s been no one better at it than Bhatia.

He shot a 9-under 63 on a rugged, wind-scraped Oaks Course in round one. He followed that with a 2-under 70 to move his lead to five. After 54 holes, he ranks first in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, second in Approach the Green, second in Putts per Green in Regulation and fifth in Strokes Gained: Around the Green. He looks untouchable. He knows he is not.

“I was talking to my psychologist last night,” Bhatia said. “Just all the stories that could happen. What if I lose this lead? What if this lead goes to 10? So many things are in your mind.”

By the end of a cooler, misty and slightly less windy Saturday afternoon in south Texas, the questions haven’t gone away. Bhatia wasn’t running from them. He was moving toward them. After his round, Bhatia spoke openly — almost enthusiastically — about the challenges he faces with one round to go. He said there was no use in pretending.

“I’m just true to myself,” he said. “I mean, I’d rather speak it to someone than not at all. I love sharing my story. I love being honest and whether I get hate for it or not, it doesn’t matter. It’s kind of who I am and who I try to be.”
