Swiss cruise line MSC Cruises sets itself apart from other brands with its refined onboard experiences and eclectic selection of facilities, including adults-only pools and bar areas, Balinese spas and 4D cinemas. The line's 22 ships (with one more on the way) cater to a variety of travelers sailing throughout destinations in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Canada and New England, Bermuda, South America, northern Europe and more. Voyages frequently last between two nights and 120 nights for MSC’s World Cruises, which take place once per year on various vessels. MSC's ships carry anywhere from 2,620 (the Armonia ) to 6,762 (the World Europa ) passengers at full capacity, with approximately one crew member for every three passengers.

Although MSC's ships differ in size, the whole fleet receives praise from previous passengers for its sophisticated ambiance and the value of its itineraries. Travelers can choose from three package experiences – Bella, Fantastica or Aurea – which will determine what their cruise fare will cover. At a minimum, meals in the main restaurants and buffet are included in the price of the voyage, as are several ship activities. Food options vary by ship, though most MSC restaurants feature globally inspired cuisines.

Meanwhile, MSC entertainment includes evening concerts, live shows, parties and contests, while shore excursions cover everything from touring around Mykonos, Greece , to exploring Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios,  Jamaica .

Before You Book

• Note: To see MSC Cruises' updated deposit, cancellation and rebooking policies, visit its website .
• To confirm your reservation, a deposit is required. Full payment must be received 75 days prior to departure for cruises lasting four nights or less, 90 days prior to departure for cruises of five to 14 nights and 110 days prior to departure for cruises of 15 nights or more. If you book less than 75, 90, 110 or 120 days prior to sailing (depending on the length of the cruise), full payment will be requested at the time of booking.
• The "Children Cruise Free" policy applies to kids younger than 18 (may be based on specific sailing and availability).  
• If you choose to cancel, you may lose your deposit or face percentage penalties, depending on the sailing and when you cancel. Refer to MSC's website  for the full cancellation policy. 
• Passengers with special needs should fill out the Special Needs Form  at the time of booking. At the latest, MSC must be notified two business days before departure.
• If your cruise is canceled by MSC for technical or weather-related reasons before the voyage begins, you will be refunded the full fare or given the option of rebooking on a future cruise.

Before You Board

• You must check in and be on board at least two hours before departure. The time you board the ship will be listed on your cruise ticket.
• You can check in online and collect your e-tickets up to 24 hours prior to your embarkation date. Visit MSC's web check-in page  for more information.  
• All luggage should be labeled with the passenger's name, ship name, cabin number and the date and port of departure, and MSC Cruises provides luggage tags for all passengers with this information. Two suitcases and two handheld pieces of luggage are permitted per person (as long as that does not exceed eight pieces of luggage per stateroom).
• While you cruise international waters, MSC requires passengers to carry all necessary travel documents – such as passports, required visas and immigration documents– where necessary.
• You can book shore excursions in advance on MSC's website . Deadlines for prebooking shore excursions vary by itinerary.
• Passengers cannot prebook specialty dining experiences ahead of time, but dining packages can often be booked online ahead of most sailings. These packages typically include two to three specialty restaurant meals in a single sailing, and unlimited specialty dining packages may be available.
