Last weekend we came early in the morning and climbed to the top of Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre . Situated in the  18th arrondissement , the majestic basilica is one of  Paris ’ most visited monuments. Only a few visitors know that the dome is accessible with a small fee. Up there the view over Paris is breathtaking… we hope our photos to encourage you to climb the spiral staircase made up of no less than 237 steps!

A breathtaking panoramic view over Paris

The circular gallery inside of the dome offers a breathtaking panoramic view of  Paris  extending to  La Défense , the  Eiffel Tower , the  Montparnasse Tower , the  Panthéon , the Bois de Vincennes, the Buttes-Chaumont and the city of Saint-Denis. Nearly all the monuments of Paris can be seen with the binoculars. On a clear day one can see as far as 30 kms.
