We had the most remarkable family tour…

We had the most remarkable family tour with Rustic Borneo Travels. Not only everything was perfect, but we felt, in every instance, that our guides truly cared about us, both the kids and adults, and did their best to make this trip memorable. For our well-traveled children this definitely has become the most eye-opening, adventurous, and stunning journey of their life - something they will remember, draw upon, and cherish for many years to come. For adults, we were pleasantly surprised by the diversity of our trip..

An excellent experience

An excellent experience. We had organised all transport, stay and experiences through Rustic Travels who did a good job. Guides were good. Just didn’t realise that it would rain so much and so heavily. We were constantly living in wet clothes. We stayed at Tekoma Resort for two nights, which was a lovely place to stay. Nice staff. I am a vegetarian and they catered for my needs. We had booked all meals at the resort. Just a few complaints, one is that it is so humid there that your clothes will not dry outside. There was no provision to dry your clothes. Secondly, there were resident cats roaming around the common areas which is ok most of the time. However, I don’t think it’s acceptable for them to be roaming around during meal times, especially when they jump onto the table. It is not hygienic. All in all, I would recommend Rustic Travels as well as Tekoma Resort. Make sure you wear long leggings and long sleeved tops for fear of mosquitoes, other insects and especially leaches. Insect repellent sprays will not be any good as it will get washed of with your sweat or the rain.

Touring Borneo in a relaxed, trouble free manner

We were able to visit the areas we decided to see in a very relaxing and fun way. Rustic Borneo altered one of their suggested tours to accommodate our wishes. We visited 4 different areas and the guides in all areas were extremely helpful, informative and always on time. We enjoyed seeing a variety of wildlife, especially monkeys, birds and urang-utans as well as the massive cave systems and jungle. We were very impressed with how friendly and welcoming the people were. We would recommend Rustic Borneo to anyone who is thinking of visiting Borneo.

Borneo advantures

Well put togehter by Borneo Rustics We had a great time, allthough quite busy with to little sleep. Some learnings to share - One nigh is enough in Iban Longhouse, compress the stay and reurn late afternoon the day after. - Water rafting is fun and well orgnaised but can't be compared with Costa Rica - Don't go for fishing, in Borneo you should watch them, snorkel and dive. This is not complaint's only sharing - We a fantastic holiday, seeing a lot of wild life above and under water. Ending our visit to Borneo with some lazy days at Bunga Raya Resort - a really great stay.

Amazing time

Very good travel agency. We spent almost 3 weeks in Borneo. Everything was perfect: the guides (Lucas, Ken, Lily, etc...) the timing, the hotels. great company but maybe a little expensive for some of the trip

The initial contact with Rustic Borneo was excellent. Fast, detailed and tailored to what we wanted. When we arrived we were greeted by our private driver and all the trips we booked onto surpassed our expectations. All the guides were passionate and knowledgable. However, as the trip went on we did feel some of the standards slip and the hotels and restaurants we visited weren't what we felt were unto the standard or price we had paid. It was a shame as it all started so well but it did dip at the end.

Had a wonderful holiday in rural Spain

Had a wonderful holiday in rural Spain, (July 2023) Villa was exactly what we wanted. Spacious and a fantastic pool. Owner was friendly and very helpful. We stayed in Arriate and I must say it was one of my best holidays. Rustical travel are very professional and helpful. I wouldn’t book with anyone else. Thank you Rustical Travel and (Javier the owner of the villa) in Arriate. we have had an amazing time. Visited and experienced places we would not have known about but Javier the owner of villa suggested these places and restaurants and they were amazing. Greate help

Very nice experience. First our program was to climb Mount Kinabalu 2D1N, orangutan center and water rafting. But due to the earthquake Mount Kinabalu was closed from beginning of June to September (our trip was beginning of August). We could easily change program to a nature trip in Kinabatangan and Sepilok Oranutan Rehabilitation Centre. The reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 is that we needed to buy flights between Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan to experience the new program and find new travels by my self. We were also able to the water rafting from the first program. But now to the more important question. If I travel to Borneo again, will I contact Rustic again. Yes I will. We were very satisfied with the service.

Super satisfied for the overall timing and good logistics!

We are really so happy and satisfied for all the arrangements of our experiences! Very well planned, welcomed with great courtesy and interest. The guides were all very nice and with knowledge about nature and animals. We had the great opportunist to see a Turtle female laying eggs, a diving croc, five out of Borneo's seven Hornbills and mest an orang utanför mummy with her baby. Fantastic! Recommend Borneo Rustic Travels by all My heart!

Fantastic and well organized

We booked our 8 day wilderness tour with Rustic Borneo, who in conjunction with Borneo Eco Tours, provided us will an extremely well organised and timely experience. Really professional service

Rustic Borneo helped us plan a trip to the Rungus longhouse and north to Kidat, and also Sepilok and Sukau. Both our guides were charming, friendly and helpful. Special mention for Adrian, for whom nothing was too much trouble, and who was permanently cheerful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We really enjoyed our trip. ( family of 5)

Overall it was a okay experience

Overall it was a okay experience. The guides from Rustic Borneo were not great, they did not interact with us much, just drove us to/from places. Maybe because their english wasn't great, we were not sure. The restaurants the guides took us to were not great. Rungus Longhouse was not a great experience because when we got there no one was there to actually talk to us. We were just given our room and were pretty much left on our own, when the whole point was to engage with indigenous people. Don't think I would use this agency again.

Great trip through Sabah

Itinerary reflected the places we wanted to go and was well planned. Guides were excellent and handovers were seamless. Accommodation very comfortable, although eco lodges hot with no air con. Food quality and variety good. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will use Rustic Borneo again.

5 Star People and Service

Every detail of our holiday was carried out with precision, from being picked up on time to the guides going out of their way to give us the best experience ever . Joe organised the best to offer for our short 2 week stay. Countless emails were sent .. questions ranging from leach socks to currency nothing was a problem. Sabah is amazing and will hold a special place in our hearts, the people who shared their beautiful country with us were warm funny and very generous. Thank you . We are very satisfied but have only a few complaints: You missed to book a hotel in Kuta Kinabalu 23/12 but It was no problem to get a room. We had appreciated a better variation in food (we had chicken morning, lunch and dinner) Our tour was very good organised, all guides and buses were on time. The guides were qualified and took good care of us.

Borneo tour

Above excellent, everything was amazing. Our itinerary was well planned out and went exactly as it was scheduled. Besides all the amazing scenery and wildlife, all the food was soooo good and every one of our tour guides was excellent. The guides were all very helpful with finding and describing the animals and patient to allow us all the time we needed to observe everything. Not to missed is Turtle Island, Sepilok and Borneo Rainforest Lodges.

We had an excellent tour which included: * Kota Kinabalu - arrival from KL midday and stay until midday 2 days later * Sandakan, Sepilok Forest Edge Resort - 1 day "free & easy", morning with guide before river transfer to Sukau Lodge * Sukau Lodge - 2 nights with a full day in between before early morning transfer to Lahad Datu and on to the Borneo Rainforest Resort *Borneo Rainforest Resort - 2 nights with full day plus 1/2 day before transfers back to KK * KK - two nights with full day in between plus day before pick up for flights to KL and on to Sydney

A very friendly Eco aware tour operator

We enjoyed out trip with experienced guides in Borneo, it was marred by forgetting to pick us up at Sandakan airport , no one answered the phone and we were stranded. We eventually found someone from the resort to organise our 45 min transfer. The guide was apologetic , but we were not happy at arriving at the resort nearly midnight. In Borneo they were exemplary and we would use agin as it was all seamless and very good tours and accommodation.

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

We had a great time both in Moscow and St Petersburg. Your travel agency was excellent in coordinating the whole trip. Everything worked like clockwork. The guides assigned to us were very nice and friendly. They had a great knowledge of their subjects. The cars and the drivers were great. The hotels were good and the itinerary was good.
