Snoop Dogg announces huge list of supports for his 2023 Australian tour
- X (formerly Twitter)
Snoop Dogg has locked in supports for his 2023 Australian tour, with a host of guests locked in to make these shows extra special.
Detroit is heavbily represented, with Obie Trice serving as main support, and Eminem's old collective D12 , which usually features members Bizarre, Kuniva and Swifty, also returning to Australia with Snoop.
Tha Dogg Pound , the Death Row Records group made up of Kurupt and Daz Dillinger, will join their old mate Snoop on these shows. So will controversial Irish superstars Versatile , who'll get things started on their first Australian tour.
Read on for all the info on dates and venues.
When Californian hip hop icon Snoop Dogg pulled out of his 2022 Australian tour a few months back, promoters swore that he still full intended on making it back to Australia as soon as possible.
They weren't kidding, and today announce new dates for early 2023.
It's extra good news for some, with Snoop also locking in a date for Adelaide and second shows in Sydney and Melbourne to meet demand.
These will be Snoop's first Australian shows since 2014 when he played the Big Day Out, so his multi-generational fanbase will be very eager to finally have him back in the country.
Not only has he made some of the greatest hip hop songs in history, he's been a key cultural figure of the past 30 years.
He was a key part of one of 2022 most incredible music moments , he hosted a pretty weird cooking show , and, yes, he performed the jingle for a food delivery service that is probably your child's only knowledge of him (and that's probably a good thing).
While it has been some time since he appeared in Australia, we can say that past visits have been very good. Snoop has always rolled out classic hits sets full of good humour and great vibes. Most importantly, his work on the mic has almost always been completely on point.
Catch Snoop Dogg playing the following shows. Tickets are on sale now and Previously purchased tickets will automatically be transferred to allow access to new tour dates.
Monday 27 February – RAC Arena, Perth
Wednesday 1 March – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney
Thursday 2 March – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney
Saturday 4 March – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Sunday 5 March – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Tuesday 7 March – Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Wednesday 8 March – Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Snoop's I WANNA THANK ME tour, which kicks off next month, is touching down in Australia after nine years between visits when he headlined Big Day Out festival in 2014.
The tour is named after the album and documentary of the same name, promoting his 17th album and 25 years of making music.

Back in December, around the same time Snoop’s tour was rescheduled, a biopic about the beloved hip hop figure was revealed to be in the works.
As Deadline reported, the movie is in partnership with Snoop's newly formed Death Row Pictures and Universal Pictures. The biopic will be the first film from Death Row Pictures and feature music from Snoop Dogg's extensive catalogue.
Menace II Society director, Allen Hughes , takes the reigns alongside Black Panther' s Joe Robert Cole, penning the script. Snoop is co-producing with Hughes and Sara Ramaker .
"I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I'm trying to portray on screen and the memory I'm trying to leave behind," Snoop revealed in a statement. "It was the perfect marriage. It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni."

D12 (formed in 1996) is an American hip-hop group known for the songs “My Band” and How Come” that rose to prominence following the success of member Eminem, hailing from Detroit, Michigan, U.S.
Originally formed of members Proof, Bizarre, Kuniva, Kon Artis, Bugz, and Eminem in 1996, D12 is short for The Dirty Dozen. In order to make up twelve members, each rapper had a alter-ego, which transformed into a character in its own right, most notably Eminem's Slim Shady. In 1997 D12 released their debut EP “The Underground” and began raising their profile across Detroit. As their reputation was building Eminem left to pursue his solo career, later releasing his first album, “Infinite”, in November 1996. The Detroit hip-hop duo Da Brigade, comprised of Kuniva and Denaun Porter, subsequently joined D12, after which rapper Bugz was shot and killed at a picnic. Eminem returned to serve as his replacement and the group recorded and released the full-length “Devil’s Night” in his honour.
Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and No. 2 in the UK, the record spawned the singles “Purple Pills”, “Ain’t Nuttin’ But Music”, and “Fight Music”. The album blended the playful and parodic with the serious hip-hop production that Eminem fans have come to expect, later selling over four million copies worldwide. Three years later the group issued their sophomore album “D12 World” with Dr. Dre, Eminem and Kanye West on production duties. Finding the top spot once again in the U.S., the record was led by the smash hit single “My Band”, which rose to No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. Featuring guest appearances from Obie Trice and B-Real, the record maintains the playful nature of its predecessor however loses some of the childlike humour.
In anticipation for the group’s third album, rapper Proof died from a gunshot wound in a Detroit club. Swift, who had been on probation, failed to attend a court appearance on the same day as Proof’s funeral and was sentence to 93 days is jail. Four years passed without any new D12 releases, however in 2011 the mixtape “Return of the Dozen, Vol. 2” found its release.
Live reviews
Here’s a chicken and the egg scenario for you - did D12 rise to wider commercial success because of Eminem, or did his involvement with the Dirty Dozen establish a platform for him to become the biggest rapper in the world? Either way, the Detroit group will always be intrinsically tied to Slim Shady - officially speaking, he remains a member - and those huge bangers that he was such an important part of, with ‘Purple Pills’ and ‘My Band’ springing to mind, will likely continue to be the group’s calling card. Excluding Eminem, then, who generally has bigger fish to fry, the current lineup is a four-piece, after the death of Proof in 2006 and the departure of Mr. Porter two years ago. Bizarre, Kuniva, Swifty McVay and Fuzz Scoota have toured the UK as recently as 2009, when they hit the road for a slew of club shows with Obie Trice and Royce da 5’9”, but haven’t released an album since D12 World back in 2004; their first full-length in a decade, as-yet untitled, is slated for release later this year. Expect new material, then, as well as a run through the classics if they return to promote the new LP; I wouldn’t hold your breath for an appearance from Marshall Mathers, though.
Report as inappropriate
The Dirty Dozen better known simply as D12 are one of the most world renowned hip hop collectives after a former and infrequently current member, the rapper Eminem became internationally recognised in the mid-90s. Their careers will be forever linked yet this is not to say that D12 do not command a following and appreciation that is completely unrelated to Mathers. The prolific artist is still a cited member of the collective and tours alongside them yet following the death of Proof the group has not been out on the road as regularly.
This is disappointing as they command such a huge following that whenever they roll into the venue they undoubtedly shut the place down with cult tracks such as 'Fight Music' and 'My Band'. With their own discography and the combined legacy of Eminem, the rappers go about performing a real crowd pleasing set featuring 'Under the Influence' by Marshall and their own 'How Come'. They pay tribute to Proof with one of his original tracks before closing on an ingenious mash up of 'Purple Rain' by Prince and their most recognisable hit 'Purple Pills' to bring the house down to its knees.
I went to see Snoop Dogg and Warren G earlier this year, D12 among a long list of others were said to perform too.
On the night, Snoop was there, no Warren G and as for D12... it may as well have been renamed D2, as there were only 2 members and all they did was sing other rappers famous songs??
They did a few of theirs but it just sounded like poor karaoke at best.
Sorry to be the bringer of facts, I love music and perhaps it was just poor planning and communication but I felt ripped off, to say the least.
No apologies, no mention of the missing artists that night.
The whole show was a sham. The sounding engineers had the bass turned up so high, you couldn't even identify snoops most famous tracks.
I've seen snoop in the past and it's been AMAZING, I'm not sure I'll risk it again though.

Snoop Dogg, the seven-time Platinum selling Artist, Movie Star, and Cultural Icon announces his upcoming Holidaze of Blaze tour featuring an incredible night of hits from a star-studded lineup! Joining Snoop on this Tour are other transformational artists like T-Pain, Warren G, Ying Yang Twins, and rising star Justin Champagne. After performing at one of the most epic half time shows in history, Snoop went on tour earlier in 2022 selling out Arenas across the Country. He is now back out to bring a very special holiday show where he will be touring with a full band for the first time in years! This is truly a one-of-a-kind show that you do not want to miss!
T-Pain proved to the World that he, in fact, does not need auto-tune when he shocked fans with his incredible voice as he won The Masked Singer in 2019. In 2007, T-Pain released his second album, Epiphany , which reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. His third album, Three Ringz , was released in 2008. The albums included a string of hit singles, including "I'm Sprung", "I'm 'n Luv (Wit a Stripper)", "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')", "Bartender", "Can't Believe It", and "5 O'Clock". T-Pain has earned two Grammy Awards from 12 nominations, one with Kanye West for "Good Life" and the other with Jamie Foxx for "Blame It". From 2006 to 2010, T-Pain was featured on more than 50 chart topping singles. His most successful feature to date was on Flo Rida's debut single "Low", which has since been certified diamond (10× platinum) by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
This epic lineup will also feature the living legend and original regulator, Warren G who joined Snoop on tour earlier this year. If that weren’t enough, Ying Yang Twins will complete a set packed with countless chart-topping hits that are sure to keep the audience up and jumping all while setting the stage for this incredible party. And of course, kicking everything off is the rising star out of Lafayette, LA, Justin Champagne, who recently released the popular If She Ain’t Country with Snoop Dogg. Fans are encouraged to get their tickets early as these shows are sure to sell out quick!
Tickets for the general public will go on sale Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10:00AM. A limited number of VIP packages and experiences will be available.

D12 Announce UK Tour Dates and Venues
The active members of the legendary Detroit band start celebrating the 20th anniversary of “D12 World” album.
Released in spring of 2004, the album topped the charts in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. In the United States “D12 World” went on to have the best performing first-week sales for a hip hop release of that year until Eminem’s “Encore” set a new record in November later that year.
“D12 World” is the most commercially profitable and popular album of the band that included Eminem as a member and enjoyed its success years after they had their first run together in Detroit. Sadly, it is also their last album, as Proof’s tragic death made it impossible for Eminem to carry on the task.
While all band members are currently active recording and performing artists, only two of them, Kuniva and Swifty McVay continue performing under the band name and maintain its legacy. Both of them have toured recently with Snoop Dogg on his Australasian tour and now are ready to take on their own overseas adventure.
So far, D12 announced six dates of their UK tour, which looks more like England tour with one show in Wales:
December 6 – Manchester, O2 Ritz December 7 – Birmingham, XOYO December 8 – London, Electric Ballroom December 9 – Bristol, SWX December 11 – Cardiff, Tramshed December 12 – Southampton, Engine Rooms
Supporting and opening acts are not publicised yet, and the D12 artists are open to suggestions, or at least want their fans to guess, as they say on their official Instagram account:
What artist/groups do you think will also be performing on this tour other than D12? #announcement coming soon
