Incorrect Excess Charge Refund

I was charged for a ticket change that happened due to the Airline, which is unfair and wrong. Karan Bali of Southall Travels attended to my complaint and was very professional and understanding. He is arranging a refund of the amount I was wrongly charged.

Memories in Japan

Sikander booked this Japan tour which was on mine and my sisters families bucket list. The tour was organised from flights, hotels, transfers etc. The hotels were planned with great thought as we had explained what sights we wanted to see so we were near the various tourist attractions. We have just returned from a fabulous trip to the Far East and a big thank you to Sammy who prepared a superb itinerary to Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia. Ask for Naina, customer service is exemplary.

My 4th or 5th time booking through Southall Travel and as usual, they got the deal we were looking for just right. I was doing a two part holiday which involved an AirBnB so I thought maybe I’d find a better deal myself booking directly or through booking.com but I’ve literally spent days glued to my screen searching for the best hotel deal and after 1 phone call to Southall and the trip is booked and paid for. Just so easy. Naina was my advisor this time and she was just the best I’ve had in 10 years. I’m very indecisive and made the poor lady search and amend my searches countless times but she done it all without ever making me feel bad about my constant changes. A proper customer service agent with a fantastic attitude. I hope that level of service gets rewarded at Southall because it’s so hard to find. Anyone looking to book a holiday, save yourself the headache and just book though this company or reputable agents. They’re worth it!

What a fantastic travel agency, especially our agent Naina who has booked not just this trip to Dubai, but a fair few of our family holidays. Southall Travel are brilliant for Middle East and beyond. Don’t hesitate to contact Naina and the team: they really make your holiday work (for all budgets) with great ideas. We have two small children - so it’s great to work with an organisation that helps accommodate our children’s needs and requirements like 4 seats in a row on an emirates flight or M club at the Dubai, Palm Marriott.

So upset not with the Travels and the…

So upset not with the Travels and the services offered, but the staff I talked to, first I felt he wasn't experienced enough, then I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking everyone makes mistakes, might be he is new to the job. Second interaction when I called to have a confirmation about my payment it felt he was absolutely rude, he told me that the travels didn't receive my payment, definitely I will be out of my sound mind and answered in a hurry. His behaviour was absolutely rude, i mean come on I work in hospitals where I deal with old people of different intellectual abilities and provides me wrong information at times, but its my job and that is why I keep my patience. This is not an attitude that will be acceptable in customer services department. So upset, I chose Southall Travels because my friends told me it was good. No 4.5 star organization's employee should have this attitude.

Scam fraud ,missold packages with no support .

I have been sold a package for umra and Madina ,the package was sold as 5 star and Now I was in less than 3 star hotel I have arrived Madina I was told it’s Movnpick Madina and they have no booking for her and saying it’s a 3 start hotel using there name We have one stage 4 cancer patient and 3 children they are not replying to us at all . We are stuck badly

Scam fraud ,missold packages with no support .

I have been sold a package for umra and Madina ,the package was sold as 5 star and Now I was in less than 3 star hotel I have arrived Madina I was told it’s Movnpick Madina and they have no booking for her and saying it’s a 3 start hotel using there name We have one stage 4 cancer patient and 3 children they are not replying to us at all . Resolving a complex issue

For each element of your holiday that you have booked with us e.g. flights, car hire bookings, invoices, e-tickets, insurance, hotel vouchers etc we will issue the relevant documentation.

We will send out your documents for hotel & package bookings so that you receive them at least 7 days prior to your departure.

Note: Some documents may be sent separately. Please contact us at [email protected] if you have not received your documents 7 days prior to departure.

The majority of airlines across the world offer Electronic Tickets or e-tickets. One of the major advantages of an eticket is that it does not require a paper ticket/record as a confirmation of your flight since that is held by the airline's computerized ticketing system in an electronic format.

An e-ticket means you need not carry a paper ticket while travelling and hence there is no fear of losing it. Since it exists in electronic format, you do not have to wait for your ticket to arrive by post. You can use your e-ticket at the self service check-in machines so avoiding long queues at the manual check-in desks still operated by most airlines. You can also print your boarding pass and track your air miles (if applicable) by using these automated machines.

To use this service you will need the following means of identification:

1. The credit card which you used to purchase your tickets

2. Traveller loyalty card.

3. An e-ticket receipt.

You will need to confirm the airline reference number given at the time of booking.

Please note that some airlines still issue paper tickets for certain flights on certain sectors. If you receive a paper ticket (a card ticket/coupon in a wallet) you must present this at the airport check-in counter or you will be unable to board your flight. If you are unsure of the type of ticket (e-ticket / paper ticket) issued to you, please contact our customer services team at [email protected] .

Please check in as per the following requirement:

International flights - Check-in at least 3 hours prior to departure.

European flights - Check-in at least 2 hours prior to departure.

Domestic flights - Check-in at least 1 hours prior to departure.

Please note that boarding begins 45 minutes prior to departure. Southall Travel does not hold any liability whatsoever for your failure to arrive at the airport in time for your specified time resulting in you being unable to travel.

Your e-ticket or the itinerary sent along with your paper ticket (if applicable) will specify from which terminal your flight departs. You may also contact us on 0208 843 4444 if you are unsure of the information.

Your baggage allowance is usually shown on your e-ticket or on the itinerary sent along with your paper ticket (if applicable). You may also contact our customer care on 0208 843 4444 if you are unsure about baggage allowance.

Please note that at many airports in the UK, new hand baggage limits have been approved by the Department for Transport with effect from 7 January 2008. As a result of this the restriction previously imposed at these airports limiting hand baggage to one item per person will no longer apply. Please note that these limitations vary depending upon the airport that you fly from and the airline that you fly with.

The following tips may be helpful for you with respect to your baggage:

Please check your hand luggage allowance with your airline prior to packing. As a general guideline, keep the hand luggage up to maximum weight of 5 kilos, and dimensions not exceeding 450mm x 350 mm x 200mm (Height x Width x Depth). Most airlines have a hand luggage measurement gauge at check-in.

Any kind of liquids, gels and cosmetics exceeding 100ml are not permitted in hand luggage. All smaller containers must be taken in a transparent plastic bag.

It is important that you find out your free allowance for checked baggage. Baggage allowance limits are determined and set by the airlines. Your baggage allowance is stated on your e-ticket receipt or paper ticket (where applicable).

Note: As a strict rule, airlines do not allow sharp objects like razors, knives, blades, etc in the hand luggage. Remember to pack sharp objects in your checked baggage.

Weight limits for most airlines:

Passengers travelling in Economy Class - 20 kg (44 lbs) without extra charges.

Passengers travelling in Business Class - 30 kg (66 lbs).

No single bag weighing over 32 kg will be accepted at check-in and you may be asked to re-pack before you check in.

For passengers flying to the United States and Canada A Piece System is in place. Baggage items, or pieces to be checked in, must not be over 158cm in total dimension each (length + width + height), and must not weigh more than 23kgs.

You are advised to check your baggage allowance by contacting the airline that you are flying with in order to avoid unnecessary delays and inconvenience. Passengers with items that exceed the 32kg weight limit, such as sporting equipment, should make special arrangements with the airline in advance. Please note that you may carry weight more than the permissible limit at an additional cost which can be confirmed by contacting the airline.

Generally, you may need a visa for entry into a non-EU country. You may need a transit visa in case you have a connecting flight via a third world country. It is often a good idea to find out visa requirement by visiting the individual country pages on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website. An up to date advice on immigration, visa & entry requirements may also be gathered by contacting the embassy, consulate or high commission of the destination. This is important for non-British citizens including other EU nationals.

You are advised to ensure that your travel documentation is in order prior to departure. It is likely that you will be turned away at check in if you do not have the correct documentation, Furthermore, most countries will not allow you to enter on a one-way ticket without the relevant visa or documentation.

Please note that all cancellations involve certain charges to be borne by the traveller. These charges vary according to the nature of the booking and are adjusted against any refund that you receive. You will need your booking reference/s and any other relevant details at the time of cancellation. If you have arranged insurance to cover your travel and your reason for cancellation falls within the terms and conditions of such insurance, it may be possible to reclaim some or all losses incurred through your insurance company.

Advance Passenger Information (API) is collected for all passengers before travel to or from certain countries, including Dubai, USA, South Africa, Spain, Thailand and China. The law now requires that airlines collect the following Advance Passenger Information (API)

Full name as it appears on the passport

Passport number, country of issue and expiry date

Country of residence

Most of the above information can be collected by most passports through a reader at check-in. However, collection of some new information at the check-in would result in longer queues slowing down the check-in for flights. Hence Advance passenger Information is collected in advance at the time of booking. For this you may also contact our customer care advisor on 0208 843 4444.

Please note that for the USA, you will need to provide an address in the USA for your first night's accommodation which may be hotel name, number and street, city, state and zip code.

You may contact our Amendments department / customer care department on 0208 843 4444 to make an amendment to your flight or hotel booking. All flight or hotel bookings are amended at applicable fees subject to the contract of the fare purchased and consequently not all bookings can be amended.

Unfortunately it is not possible to make amendments to car hire reservations. This is classed as a Cancellation.

The tour was great. It allowed plenty of free time, so we could explore on our own. The tour group consisted of only 12 people, so we could all engage with our guide.

Japan One Life Adventures - 14 Days

I had a lot of fun on this tour! They give you time in each location to roam around at your own pace and make sure to carve out appropriate time for all the big attractions. Logistics were well-handled and most of the itinerary was great. The accommodations are decent for the price, although some temples are very poorly insulated, so in the winter it can get awfully cold even with the heater on. One thing they don't really say is just how much walking this is - for Americans, it was between 4 and 8 miles most days, or 20-30k steps per day, often including stairs while carrying your luggage. We packed lightly (no checked luggage) so it was doable, just be prepared. There are opportunities to do laundry, but often the dryers aren't the best, so pack things that'll dry quickly. Sarah was an AMAZING tour guide, she really earned this rating. I would have loved more time with her because she was so fun to talk to and so knowledgeable about the culture and places we visited. She was great at managing expectations, too, so we never felt disappointed or like we got unlucky (particularly with Mt Fuji and the cherry blossoms).

We had an amazing holiday. Japan was all we had hoped for. The group worked so well, we all got on and became good friends. Shingo, our guide was totally great. He was so pleasant and helpful. His English not brilliant but he did a great job. We felt maybe a little more information on places and sights might have been good. He was constantly helping us all and looking after us. He made great suggestions for meals and always checked up on us all, even when we split into smaller groups for the evening. He went way beyond what he could have done and made everyone feel safe and well looked after. He even helped booking all our onward travel and ensured we were all ok on the day. Wonderful man!! The hotels were nice, if a little small with almost no storage in most of them! Breakfasts were generally very good. We saw and did so much. In fact, we felt sometimes it was a little too much to fit into each day, and either missed some things out or were too rushed, missing stopping and looking at leisure at things and shops etc. Shingo was so patient, even when we caused him to run a little late! Due to distances covered we spent a lot of time travelling which was an interesting experience. Just meant time at destinations was a little short. As Most of us were older we all felt very tired at the end of each day and struggled especially when we had to carry back packs whilst waiting to be reunited with luggage. Dont know what the answer is, if extra days added, then expense goes up. If itinerary cut back, then Interesting sights missed out! Overall, a truly great trip. We enjoyed it all!

All Inclusive Japan Classics- 9 days

We had heard and read many good things about Supera's tour package. Thankfully, the reviews were true! The accommodations were top-notch and spacious. Meals were of high quality and portions were more than adequate. The tours were a good mix of the main attractions of each region, and while some places were inevitably touristy, we never felt pressured to buy anything. The walking tours of Kyoto were definitely highlights. Thanks also to our indomitable, energetic and always-optimistic guide Hiroko!

Japan Adventure

My experience in this Japan tour was amazing. I did not have any stress at all for accommodations or things to do because of my tour lead, Zoe. She was phenomenal! Always on top of everything with recommendations of what to do and eat at each palce visited, to providing historical context of many different sites. Personally Zoe gained my heart ensuring all my needs were covered. I will miss her terribly but I hope I can do another tour with her in the future.

The guide was the best

It was a really nice tour, our Tour guide Aiko and bus driver: Isshiko san was very good to us for the whole duration. Though this was not our original tour, it was ok. I still would've liked to go on our 10-day one instead. This 8 day tour was way too jam-packed. Almost 3 cities a day with only 2 hours to explore in each. We had to choose whether to eat or to explore. Everybody I talked to had their original tour switched to this one. Though the staff did their very best, I can't help but think there was a better way to do this tour. This is a ver tiring tour though you get to see most of Japan in this one trip. For people wanting a more relaxed trip there are better options.

Tour well organised with many experiences of local culture, food etc., only a small group making getting around easier.

Cross the Seto Inland Sea on the Great Seto Ohashi Bridge which will lead you to Shikoku, the smallest of Japan's four major islands. Take a peaceful stroll through Ritsurin Garden, where you can admire the many ponds, hills, ancient trees and beautiful pavilions. Travel to the main island of Honshu on a scenic drive across the Shimanami Kaido, one of three roads that connects Shikoku Island to the main island. Once on Honshu, visit Hiroshima, a city destroyed by an atomic bomb during World War II. Today, the city flourishes and offers shopping centers, beautiful gardens, the Memorial Peace Park, and the Atomic Bomb Museuem. A short ferry ride away lies Miyajima, a sacred city famed for its vermilion torii gate of the Itsukushima Shrine, also known as the "floating" torii gate. Experience a high-speed Shinkansen bullet train to visit the Kitsuki Samurai District, marvel at the steamy “Hells of Beppu” hot springs, and meet the monkeys of Takasaki Monkey Park. Afterwards, enjoy a trip to the mythological town of Takachiho, where you can watch as performers reenact the legend of Amaterasu, the Shinto Sun Goddess. Pay a visit to the Nagasaki Peace Park, a beautiful memorial to the lives lost in the second atomic bombing, and has around 200 cherry trees that bloom in spring. The city now holds several parks and gardens, including Glover Garden, an open air museum where the oldest Western style house in Japan stands. Also visit Japan's most famous Christian church, Oura Church. In Fukuoka, you will have the opporutnity to taste the famed Wagyu beef. With dates in spring, summer, and autumn, each season offers something special. Fill up at breakfast this morning – you’re in for a full day of sightseeing. The excitement begins with a tour of Gyeongbok Palace, the largest palace in South Korea. Built in 1392 at the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty, it was the main royal palace for five centuries. After a number of Insider Experiences, your final stop for today is Insadong Antique Alley, where quirky amulets and jewellery among other wares are scattered across stalls. Poke around the many streets, maybe picking up a souvenir or two.

Seoul, Demilitarized Zone, Seoul

Today is dedicated to the relationship between North and South Korea. You’ll visit the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) to gain an understanding of the bordering countries. See Imjingak Park, the Bridge of Freedom and the Third Infiltration Tunnel, where it’s believed that some 30,000 soldiers could pass through within an hour. You’ll also spend time at the DMZ Theatre and Exhibition Hall, and the station, along with Dora Observatory, which offers binocular views into North Korea.

Seoul, Busan

Board one of South Korea’s famous KTX Express Trains to Busan. Watch the beautiful countryside whip past your window, and jet right past busy cities as your train reaches speeds of over 300 kilometres per hour.

After breakfast at your hotel, travel to Busan. Upon arrival in South Korea’s second-largest city, you’ll be taken on a city sightseeing tour of some of Busan’s most well-known sites. Begin at Busan Tower, which offers a great vantage point to the city’s bustling port. Visit Jagalchi Fishery Market, the largest seafood market in South Korea. Here, locals select seafood that is straight from the ocean and take their purchase to the market’s chefs to be prepared just how they like it, for a fresher-than-fresh seafood lunch. Finish your explorations in Gamcheon Village, a mishmash of pastel-coloured houses, street art and art galleries.

There’s more of Busan to be explored this morning. At Taejongdae observatory, admire sweeping views of the natural wonders of Taejongdae Resort Park. Continue to the United Nations Memorial cemetery – the only one of its kind. Afterwards, voyage to the seaside for a visit to Haedong Yonggung temple before journeying to Gyeongju.

Join a moonlight walking tour of Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, once part of the palace complex of ancient Silla.

Set your sights on the World Heritage Bulguksa Temple resting on the slopes of Mt Toham. Built in 774 AD, the temple is considered a masterpiece of Buddhist art. Nearby, explore Seokguram Grotto and see the giant Sakyamuni Buddha, which is buried in the grotto’s inner chambers. Afterwards, take a stroll across the green grounds of Tumuli Park, where over 200 royal tombs can be found and Family Choi’s House, the oldest house in the area which was built in 1630, also visit the Cheomseongdae observatory. After time for dinner, this evening experience a special Insider Experience.

Gyeongju, Seoul

Travel by KTX Express Train to Seoul.

Make the journey to Haeinsa Temple, a World Heritage site, located within Gayasan National Park. As one of the three principal Buddhist temples in Korea, discover Buddhist scriptures, which have been carved into more than 80,000 wooden blocks. Afterwards, head to Dongdaegu train station to board a KTX Express Train to Seoul. Tonight, celebrate your holiday with your fellow travellers and Tour Director with a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.

Head to a local izakaya for dinner to celebrate your first night in Japan.

Today, transfer to the airport and fly to Tokyo. On arrival be met by our representative and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, meet your Japan Tour Director for a welcome meeting before dinner.

Take the opportunity to join a hands on sushi workshop and learn the finer points to this speciality.

A full-day tour of Tokyo begins with a trip to Sensoji Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the city. Next, it’s on to the Imperial Palace, where the Japanese royal family reside) for a photo stop and pass other important buildings on the drive to Tsukiji Outer Market. Take a walking tour of the largest fish market in Japan where fresh seafood is delivered daily. Wander the narrow aisles of this atmospheric marketplace to find all sorts of delicious and uniquely Japanese food – from fish and shellfish to barrels of green tea, dried seaweed and all manner of pickles and other tasty morsels before joining a sushi workshop. Stop at Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest intersections in the world before visiting Meji Shrine. Enter through the massive tori gate and discover a peaceful Shinto shrine.

Tokyo, Hakone

Travel to Hakone today. Take a ride on the Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani Geothermal Valley. Continue on to Lake Ashi and enjoy a cruise around the lake. This caldera lake was formed 3,000 years ago when Mount Hakone erupted. On a clear day, you may see Mount Fuji. Later, for the ultimate exercise in relaxation, perhaps partake in a traditional onsen experience at your hotel.

Stop at Mount Fuji’s Fifth Station, a halfway point up the mountain where, if the sun is shining, you will be able to see the snow-capped peak of this iconic sight.

Learn how to make soba noodles from buckwheat, a local speciality, before enjoying your creation for lunch.

Visit Japan's oldest original castle, Matsumoto Castle, an impressive five-storey fortress.

This morning, travel to Mount Fuji, arguably Japan’s most distinctive landmark. Stop for your Insider Experience and lunch before continuing on to Matsumoto. Afterwards, enjoy a stroll through the merchant district of Nakamachi, where streets are lined with well-preserved Edo-style buildings

Matsumoto, Takayama

Dive deeper into Japan’s alpine region, admire the stunning alpine scenery before l reaching the Shin-Hotaka Ropeway in Oku-Hida region. Take the cable car to an observation deck that is elevated to 2,156 metres. Later, arrive in the picturesque mountain town of Takayama. The rest of the day is free for you to relax. Tonight, perhaps discover the famous Hida beef, a remarkably tender variety of Wagyu beef (additional charge).

Note: Between May – early August 2024 the Shin-Hotaka Ropeway is closed for maintenance. During this period guests will visit the Matsumoto City Museum of Art. Home to a collection of works by the famous Yayoi Kusama who was born in the city in 1929 and several revolving exhibitions.

Stay: Two Nights, Takayama Ouan

Take part in an o-sembei making workshop, where you will learn to shape, flavour and roast your own rice crackers.

It’s only fitting you visit a sake brewery and enjoy a tasting.

This morning, stroll through the Miyagawa Morning Market. After, enjoy an Insider Experience. Up here in the mountains makes for perfect sake-producing conditions, at a local brewery spend time on an Insider Experience. The afternoon is at your leisure, where you might like to explore further.

Takayama, Kanazawa

Following breakfast, head to Kanazawa, stopping en route at the alpine village of Shirakawa-go, made famous by its collection of original gassho-zukuri style farmhouses, which have been World Heritage listed. Continue to Kanazawa, sometimes referred to as the hidden pearl of Japan’s west coast and join a walking tour through the geisha and samurai districts.

Kanazawa, Kyoto

This evening, keep on the lookout for beautiful geiko (geisha) and maiko (apprentice geisha) as you enjoy a stroll through the city of Kyoto.

Begin your explorations with a visit to Kenrokuen Garden. Stroll across bridges, passing tranquil ponds and fountains, and admire a landscape dotted with Japanese pines, cherry trees and maples. Afterwards, continue to Kyoto.

Stay: Three Nights, Noku Kyoto

Take a walk through Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where towering green bamboo stalks give off an otherworldly feel.

Today your Kyoto explorations begin at Sanjusangedo temple where you can see the thousand statues of Kannon are made of Japanese cypress covered in gold leaf. Step inside Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) and its stunning Japanese garden. Take a walk through Arashiyma Bamboo Forest and visit Tenryuji temple. Finish with a tea ceremony and experience the art of brewing, serving and drinking this special beverage which plays such an important in Japanese traditions.

Kyoto, Nara, Kyoto

Rise early this morning and follow the path marked by thousands of scarlet torii gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine. You’ll then board your coach for a day trip to Nara, which briefly reigned as the capital of Japan in the 8th-century. Immerse yourself in Nara culture with a visit to Todai-ji Temple. You’ll also head to Nara Park to see the friendly wild deer, and Kasuga Shrine, whose countless lanterns have been donated by worshippers.

Kyoto, Osaka

Travel to Osaka, Japan’s unofficial culinary capital. Visit the Umeda Observatory in the iconic Umeda Sky building, and soak in the incredible views across this dynamic city. After, admire Osaka Castle on a photo stop before heading to Dotonbori, a hotspot for street food. Your final night is celebrated with a Farewell Dinner at a local sukiyaki restaurant.
