I have always liked the Oddy uniforms. However as I don't have access to the flag officers uniform my normal main outfit is the Oddy Dress Uniform using the flag officer colors with Academy boots,pants with black gloves and using the mirror enterprise belt

The oddy uniforms are my absolute favourite, I use the dress uniform for most things other than combat away missions wherein I change into the fleet admiral duty uniform. I like them even more than the canon ones. Anyone remember the god-awful uniforms we had in beta and at launch? I think they were called jupiter? I mean, you can still wear them, but no one does.. because they're awful.

Star Trek Online features many different uniforms and other outfits from many species in the Star Trek universe allowing a great deal of customization . You have the freedom to change the outfit of your captain and uniform of the bridge officers at a tailor for free at any time. In addition to those freely available, new outfits can be earned or bought.

Faction uniforms

Each faction has a designated standard, or canon, uniform that characters will come with by default and can be seen on NPCs.

• DSC Starfleet : Discovery Uniform
• TOS Starfleet : 23rd Century Starfleet Uniform
• Klingon Defense Force : Klingon 2409 and Bortasqu' Warrior Uniform
• Romulan Republic : Romulan Republic Uniform
• Dominion : Jem'Hadar Uniform

In addition, the game provides canon uniforms from all periods of Star Trek.

All players start with a basic selection of uniforms relevant to their faction. Further outfits can be unlocked via:

• Mission rewards
• The Risian Vendor ( Lohlunat Festival )
• Holiday Item Vendor ( Q's Winter Wonderland )
• Fleet holdings
• Ground item sets or certain special bridge officers
• Special giveaways or event rewards

Customization

Your Uniform can be edited at Tailors on the majority of hubs, such as Earth Spacedock , First City , and New Romulus Command . You can change the color on most parts, although the available pallet varies. Many uniforms can be mixed with other sets although there are some limitations. Editing your uniform has no impact on your stats in-game and, provided you own the outfit, there are no charges to edit your outfit.

Away from tailors, you can switch between several saved outfits at any time by right clicking on your captain's portrait. You have two Outfit Slots at the start with another added when you join a fleet and more able to be purchased.

In the Tailor interface or the character creator, the color swatches have the lightest color near the middle (e.g. A13). The colors left of the middle are much more saturated than the colors right of the middle. The colors on the left tend to be used in Federation uniforms for accents, and the colors on the right are closer to human skin colors and camouflage colors (e.g. lemon vs. sand). You can see this by trying out two colors of the same hue the same distance from the center or from the edges.

Many costume parts are limited by category, the primary categories being "Uniform" and "Off Duty". Uniform can be worn by captains (the player character ) and bridge officers , whereas Off Duty is limited to captains only. In addition there are outfits that are not designed to be usable with most other parts, namely some armor sets, however some items from these sets can be found in other categories. Further categories are separated as they are intended to be limited only to certain zones, for example Beachwear on Risa.

Though we do have some costumes and uniforms in our gift shop at Federation Headquarters, we do not offer them online.  Why?  Well, because many costumes have sizing issues that result in returns.  Some manufacturers' sizes run small.  Others may run large or have a bad fit in one place or another.

But fear not!  Our partners at Hero Within offer the best in costumes and uniforms from 'Star Trek' and other fandom realms.  And if you order from them and mention The Federation, they make a donation to our organization.

Guide: Uniform colors

This guide was created to help players stick to the original canon colors and uniforms as seen in the various series and films. Since then it has been expanded to include canon in-game uniforms and their coloration. The canon colors presented in this guide have been heavily tested against the in-game lighting and matched for accuracy with similar lighting in the shows. Notice that they have been labeled as per the usual positions the colors were used to designate in the shows and movies, not by the generalized Tactical, Engineering and Science careers they are used to designate in game.

For those that crave more accuracy, it was created using a Dell E198WFP Monitor with the Color preset Normal and Color Profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (default settings for most PCs and Monitors).

Note that additional uniform guide entries have been added by other user(s), so Dell Monitor usage will not apply to all entries.
