Am I going to have any problems with this bike if it is too old. It does not look like it was ridden for more than three months but it could be 8-10 years old.

Trek 4500 is an amazing hardtail mountain bike from Trek. It provides good riding on technical trails, and the lightweight frame makes it very convenient for beginners. Trek 4500 inspires confidence on the trail with solid handling and durable components. It sports 26-inch tires and a suspension fork to smooth out bumps and major impacts.
Trek 2000 8000-SLR Hardtail Bike
Strength: This bike is light. The upgrade from the 7000 to 8000 is worth the extra cash. The frame on the 8000 is stronger, lighter and a better ride. Out of the box this bike rides like a dream. I was nervous about the Rolf Wheels but am now a fan after putting them through some rock gardens.
How much is this bike worth? (ZR 9000 frame etc..)
Trek only makes 2 ZR9000 bikes, the 8000 and the 8500. Based on the fact that it has v-brakes and an lx crank I'm going to guess its the 8000. The 8500 comes with full disc brakes, a fox fork and all xt components. But you should ask him first to make sure he didn't just swap stuff out.
