Important Information

The Mosque holds a religious and sacred position for all. Visitors to the Grand Mosque should, therefore, abide by specific rules and show their respect by following the guidelines. It has recently been noticed that a majority of visitors/tour groups associated with Tour Operators are frequently borrowing Abayas (Arabic Ladies' Dress) offered by the Center, as a result of such visitors failing to comply with the Grand Mosque's operative dress code. Accordingly, starting from Tuesday, 29 October 2019 the Shk Zayed Grand Mosque Center will not offer Abaya borrowing service to any visitors/tour groups associated with Tour Operators.

So, please pay strict attention to the dress code when visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Failure to observe the dress code will result in entry to the monument being restricted

This tour begins at 9:00 AM everyday and you will be dropped back at your hotel by approximately 5:00 PM. Should you choose to book the city tour and Ferrari World combo, pickups begin at 8:30 AM and departure from Ferrari World to return to Dubai is at 7:00 PM approximately.

• The Sheikh Zayed Centre remains closed on Fridays and Saturdays
• The itinerary of the tour is subject to change
• Some locations in the tour might be closed to visitors on account of special occasions or public holidays
• A strict dress code must be observed when visiting the mosque. Women must wear loose long trousers or long skirts and tops with long sleeves and must keep their head covered with a scarf at all times. Tight and transparent clothing is not permitted. Men must not wear shorts.

• Route 99 (60 mins): This route operates from Zayed City and also goes to the museum, with a stop near Madinat Zayed. The distance from the stop to the museum is about 1.5 kilometers.

From Dubai, cruise down E11, swap to E12 at the Saadiyat Island exit. Follow Yas Hwy signs to the Cultural District/Louvre. Already on Yas Island? Just hop E12 towards Saadiyat, and follow the signs. Free parking at the museum, enjoy! Louvre Abu Dhabi has ample parking facilities with over 1,000 designated spaces. 

Taxis are readily available throughout Abu Dhabi. You can hail a taxi on the street or book one through a ride-hailing app. The fare from downtown Abu Dhabi to the museum is approximately AED 50-70 (USD 14-19). The distance from most taxi drop-off points to the museum entrance is 200 meters.

Abu Dhabi World Judo Championships tickets on sale with record numbers expected

Abu Dhabi World Championships will be the last major stop on the tour to qualify for the Paris Olympics.

Tickets have gone on sale for the general public to attend and take in the excitement and charm at the Abu Dhabi World Championships Seniors 2024 Individuals and Mixed Teams to be held in the UAE capital in May.

The Supreme Organising Committee of the Abu Dhabi World Championships Seniors 2024 Individuals and Mixed Teams has targeted audiences from across the UAE and the region for this mega-sporting event that is scheduled to be held at the Mubadala Arena from May 19-24.

Organised by the International Judo Federation in close coordination with the UAE Judo Federation, the week-long competition is expecting to host hundreds of judokas from more than 100 nations from around the world.

Now in its 37th edition, the World Judo Championships in Abu Dhabi is the final qualifying round for athletes and there is expected to be a frenzied race for the limited spots on offer towards qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The judo competition at the Summer Games is to be held from July 27 to August 2.

Mohammed Bin Tha’aloob Saleem Al Darie, President of the UAE Judo Federation was thrilled with the official sale of tickets to such a grand sporting extravaganza that is being hosted for the first time by Abu Dhabi.

“This very special event is a vehicle in which to send a message from Abu Dhabi to the world, a message of peace, tolerance, diversity and unity. I welcome all the participating nations to be part of this historic event in the United Arab Emirates, and to explore the culture and hospitality of our country,” Darie said.

“The excitement could not get better, especially because this event is the final grand competition before the 2024 Paris Olympics. This will be among the biggest chances for the athletes to try and qualify for an important event like an Olympic Games. And that is why we are expecting the general sporting public from the UAE to snap up tickets for this truly international competition,” he added.

Darie further reiterated that he was excited with the response and the prospects of the general public putting in a huge attendance on all the days of the competition in May. “In addition to UAE residents, we will need to cater to visiting guests and enthusiasts of the sport,” Darie observed.

Marius L. Vizer, President of the International Judo Federation was pleased with assigning such a huge responsibility to Abu Dhabi. “Abu Dhabi is moving forward in all areas of life and their clear commitment to sport is no exception. No stranger to us as an exemplary IJF host nation, having provided the perfect conditions for an outstanding 2023 World Championships Veterans and World Championships Kata, alongside the annual Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, the Emirates again lend their expertise, organisation and friendship to the judo family,” Vizer acknowledged.

“This final global liaison of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualification period is entrusted to the UAE Judo Federation because we know we are in safe hands. We will enjoy the perfect mix of spectacle, excellence and hospitality with athletes from all continents being welcomed here once again,” he added.
