New Bharat Gaurav Train All Set For A Magnificent Trip To The North

Here’s some good news for avid travellers. Due to a surge in travel bookings, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a new Bharat Gaurav tourist train for those planning a trip in August.

The train will leave from Kolkata for Vaishno Devi, taking passengers on a tour of North India. According to the IRCTC website, the package called ‘Mata Vaishnodevi With Uttar Bharat Darshan’ is a tour of 10 nights and 11 days, and covers important pilgrimage sites as well as popular tourist destinations en route.

Starting from Kolkata, the train will go to Haridwar, Katra, Jalandhar City, Agra, Mathura and Ayodhya, before returning to the City of Joy. Passengers can board and deboard the train at Kolkata, Mecheda, Kharagpur, Midnapore, Bankura, Purulia, Ranchi, Bokaro steel city, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh Rd, Koderma, Gaya , Sasaram and Dd Upadhyaya, adds the website.

Besides Vaishno Devi, passengers can explore Haridwar, Rishikesh, Golden Temple, Wagah Border, Taj Mahal, Mathura-Vrindavan and Ayodhya as well.

Package details

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train embarks on its journey on August 11, 2023. It has 790 seats, of which 580 are sleeper class while 210 are part of the AC 3 Tier coaches. These are split into three types, namely economy, standard and comfort. The cost of an economy package is INR 17,700, while the standard and comfort packages cost INR 27,400 and INR 30,300 respectively. It is important to note that in a bid to promote train travel, Indian Railways is offering a 33 percent concession under the Bharat Gaurav train schemes, and the above package cost is inclusive of the same.

A key feature of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is that once the train tickets are booked, passengers can leave the stress related to their itinerary to the IRCTC. The package covers three meals a day, travel insurance, professional and friendly tour guides and security with applicable taxes. Other inclusions are staying in budget hotels on a sharing basis as and when needed and travelling in AC/Non-AC vehicles (based on your package) wherever required.

It does not include a choice of menu, room service, sightseeing, entry fees and local guides. Cost of tips to drivers, waiters, guides, fuel surcharges and personal expenses such as laundry, mineral water, food (apart from items already included in the regular menu provided by the IRCTC), and wine are not covered in the itinerary.

The tour package includes hall accommodation at places of night stay or morning freshening up, tourist buses for passengers visiting sightseeing spots, pure vegetarian meals, security arrangements for each coach (without arms), tour escorts for announcements and information as well as an IRCTC official on the train as train superintendent.

As per the cancellation policy of the Bharat Darshan tour package, an amount of Rs 100 will be deducted per passenger, if the ticket cancellation is done up to 15 days. While 25 percent of the total package cost will be deducted if the ticket cancellation is done up to 8 to 14 days and 50 percent of the total package cost will be deducted if the cancellation is done up to 4 to 7 days. No refund will be given if the ticket cancellation is done in less than 4 days.

IRCTC offers ‘Bharat Darshan' tour package only for Rs 11340; Check route and other details

New Delhi: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is offering ‘Bharat Darshan’ (Splendors of India) tour package which will begin on August 29 and end on September 10. The special 11 nights/12 days package will cost Rs 11,340 per adult. For this tour package, IRCTC will operate a “Bharat Darshan Special Tourist Train".

The train will cover various destinations including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Nishkalank Mahadev Sea Temple in Bhavnagar, Amritsar, Jaipur and Statue of Unity. As per the IRCTC Tourism website, Bharat Darshan package is one of the most affordable, all-inclusive tour packages. All the important tourist places in the country will be covered by the special train.

Those who want to book the Bharat Darshan tour package can book it by visiting the IRCTC website. Interested people can also visit IRCTC Tourist Facilitation Centre, Zonal Offices, and Regional Offices as well to book their tickets. The journey of the tourists will be covered by sleeper class. 

Travel insurance and sanitization kits will be provided to the tourists. The local transportation expenses, entrance fee for monuments, boating charges, service of tourist guide will have to be borne by tourists on their own.

• Morning Tea/Coffee, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & 1 litre Drinking water per day.

• Travel Insurance.
• Sanitization Kit.

• Items of personal nature i.e. laundry, medicines

For cancellation of your ticket, please log in to your account, select the Tour Confirmation Number of the ticket you wish to cancel and cancel your ticket from your booked history online. Cancellation of your Ticket is possible only on the website www.irctctourism.com, and is not possible on PRS Counters.

Tourists have been advised to keep the Covid vaccination Certificate or RT-PCR negative report (less than 48 hrs prior to the journey date). Leave Travel Concession (LTC) will also be issued by IRCTC for the tourists who avail the Bharat Darshan tours (only the Train fare and road transfers will be allowed under the LTC scheme) after completion of the tour.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be launching another Bharat Darshan tourist train from Madhya Pradesh today (i.e. Friday, October 8) in a bid to promote religious tourism in the country. The launch comes days after the IRCTC started a similar ‘tourist train’, which is meant to explore the five northeastern states under the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ (“Explore your country”) initiative. These tour packages are meant to be all-encompassing, with the IRCTC team taking care of all the travel needs of the passengers.

Bharat Darshan is a joint project of the Indian Railways and the Union ministry of tourism and culture, which organises “the world's cheapest and most comfortable” tour packages from time to time. Its purpose is to introduce the culture of different parts of the country to people who are deprived of tourism due to any reason.

Which religious sites will the special tourist train cover?

The Bharat Darshan train which is being launched from Madhya Pradesh will start from the Rewa station and eventually travel through railway stations that will let passengers explore Agra, Mathura, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Amritsar, and even the Vaishno Devi shrine (Katra).

The main aim to run this train is to give an “enhanced experience to explore beautiful historical and devotional places of North India.”

What are the notable features of this journey?

In this tour package, passengers will be provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner with accommodation in budget hotels or dharmshalas as well as tourist buses. Also, accident insurance up to ₹ 4 lakhs will also be given to the passengers.

During the entire duration of the journey, the IRCTC team will take care of all protocols, related to hygiene and health, and ensure a safe and worry-free experience by maintaining social distancing at all times.

“The eight nights and nine days tour has been designed keeping in mind the interest of every kind of traveller, who loves fun with devotion and visit old traditional cities of India,” said IRCTC public relations officer (PRO) Anand Kumar Jha.

Where can one board this special tourist train?

According to IRCTC, the Bharat Darshan train will start from the Rewa station in Madhya Pradesh; however, special boarding facilities will also be available from other railway stations such as – Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Itarsi, Hoshangabad, Habibganj, Vidisha, Ganj Basoda, Bina, and Jhansi.

What is the cost of this tour package?

The Bharat Darshan tour package for the special train which is starting from Madhya Pradesh today will cost ₹ 8,505 per person for the sleeper class, and ₹ 10,395 per person for AC 3-tier.

To book this journey, it will be mandatory for every passenger to have taken both doses of their respective coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines, and the age limit for the tickets is 18 years and above.

Laungewala Battlefield reminds us of Indo-Pak war of 1971.The battle began on the night of December 4, 1971, when a Pakistani armored regiment, supported by infantry, attacked the Indian border outpost at Longewala. The Indian outpost, commanded by Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri, consisted of only 120 soldiers and a few outdated tanks.

The Pakistani army launched several artillery attacks on the temple, aiming to destroy it. However, to the astonishment of many, the bombs and shells did not harm the temple or its surroundings. It is believed that the divine presence of Goddess Tanot protected the temple and prevented any damage.

It is estimated that around 400-500 kilometers (approximately 250-310 miles) of the border is floodlit on the Indian side. This can be seen from the space.

Kiradu Ancient Temples: Kiradu, located about 35 kilometers from Barmer, is an archaeological site known for its ancient temples. These temples, dating back to the 11th century, exhibit exquisite architecture and intricate stone carvings.

Ravan Temple: Mandore is also known for its unique Ravan Temple, dedicated to Ravana.

Indian Railways: IRCTC to start a special Bharat Darshan Tourist train. Check details

The main aim to run this train is to give an enhanced experience to explore beautiful historical and devotional places of north india..

In a bid to promote religious tourism in the country, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is starting a special Bharat Darshan Tourist train on October 8 which will run from Rewa station of Madhya Pradesh to Agra, Mathura, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Amritsar and Vaishno Devi Shrine.

According to the IRCTC Public Relations Officer (PRO) Anand Kumar Jha, the main aim to run this train is to give an enhanced experience to explore beautiful historical and devotional places of North India. To provide comfort to the passengers, a boarding facility in this special train will be available from Rewa as well as Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Itarsi, Hoshangabad, Habibganj, Vidisha, Ganj Basoda, Bina and Jhansi stations.

"The eight nights and nine days tour has been designed keeping in mind the interest of every kind of traveller, who loves fun with devotion and visit old traditional cities of India," he added.

He further informed that the company has decided the tour price starts from ₹ 8,505 per person for sleeper class and ₹ 10,395 per person for 3AC.

In this tour package, passengers will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner with accommodation in budget hotels or dharmshalas as well as tourist buses. Also, accident insurance up to ₹ 4 lakhs will also be given to the passengers.

During the entire duration of the journey, the IRCTC team will take care of all protocols, related to hygiene and health, and ensure a safe and worry-free experience by maintaining social distancing at all times. To book this journey, it will be mandatory for every passenger to have taken both processes of COVID vaccine and the age limit is 18 years and above.

It is worth mentioning that Bharat-Darshan is a joint project of Indian Railways and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, which organises the world's cheapest tour packages from time to time. This is one of the very popular tour packages to explore various destinations, Jha said.
