Our visit will Make Travel Matter by helping to conserve this iconic natural landmark. In Londonderry, walk along the 17th-century walls with your Local Specialist and see the streets and murals of the Bogside. Later view the Donegal castle that was once the stronghold of the O'Donnell clan before continuing to your hotel where you will enjoy a dinner tonight.

Venture to Galway

No experience with them, but here's the website. You should find the tour your son wants to book, and then check prices for similar tours with other companies.

Brendan Tours' office is in California. I found two websites for them. The first seems to be the main site, and the second - one to book a holiday:

http://www.brendanvacations.com/

http://www.ibookbrendan.com/

Thanks! A lot of valuable info -- but I really did want to hear about personal experiences.

( others include 'glimpse Windsor Castle' / 'drive through the Cotswolds' etc etc).

I'm not really trying to put you off; just a reality check of what is involved. I can't tell whether those prices represent good value, but you still need to add the air fare on top.

Another alternative might be to base yourself in London, and book yourself onto some day tours with companies such as Premium, Evan Evans. At least that way you get guided tours, but you also get to stay overnight in one place, and can relax without having to pack and unpack all the time. You could even have a day trip to Paris !

http://www.premiumtours.co.uk/

http://www.evanevanstours.co.uk/

I used to work for them many years ago. As Gilligan points out, their tours are like other fully-escorted tours, in that you will spend a lot of time travelling to each destination, but little time in any one of them. However, if that is what you are looking for, they were very good at what they did, and used good hotels generally. Moreover, one of the founders was fully involved in the day-to-day operation (I notice from the website that he's still actively involved), and was fully committed to maintaining quality and customer service, which was the main thing that impressed me when I worked there. As I say, this was a long time ago, and have no recent experience or knowledge of them.

In my day, their tours fed into Globus Gateway tours - I don't know if this is still the case.

Sorry, no personal experience here, either. I do recommend that anyone considering a tour should read this link: http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/tips/998tourtips.htm . Like Gilligan, I suggest a close look at what is included. In tours speak, 'see', 'view', 'catch a glimpse of' mean you do not step into an attraction. "Visit" should mean that you do. I find very few "visits" in the Brendan Tours website. "Pass by the area of Sherwood Forest, associated with the legendary hero Robin Hood" is the least impressive blurb I have seen.

Well, it wasn't recent (few years ago) but we did use Brendan Tours to travel to Australia on a fully guided tour for a month. It was a wonderful experience and everything was as initially presented to us. Our guide was vey knowledgeable and everything was handled very professionally. Since our tour covered several places in Australia we flew between destinations and didn't spend as much time on the bus as some tours.

Is this the sort of thing you meant? http://www.brendanvacations.com/tour.aspx?1356

One big advantage is that you will have what they call a host to call on should there be problems.

Like many of the other people on here, I don't have any experience of Brendan Tours. I have just had a quick look at their website and they seem to be rather expensive.

I would be inclined to look at British Tour companies who offer similar tours for Brits, but much cheaper.

Pierce Brosnan Is Unrecognizable as Prince Naseem Hamed's Trainer in Movie About Boxer's Life

Brosnan is set to play Hamed's trainer Brendan Ingle in the sports drama 'Giant,' as multiple outlets reported earlier this month

brendan tours england

Pierce Brosnan , is that you?

The actor looked much different from his usual self on Tuesday, April 23, in character for his role as boxer Prince Naseem Hamed 's trainer, Brendan Ingle, in the upcoming sports drama Giant.

Photographed on the film's set in Yorkshire, England, Brosnan, 70, was seen with unusually thin stark-white hair, dressed in a track jacket and black slacks. Another snapshot showed the former James Bond actor smiling while wearing a beige jacket.

Multiple outlets, including Variety and Deadline , reported earlier this month that the Irish actor would play the Irish-born Ingle in Giant opposite Amir El-Masry as Hamed, with Sylvester Stallone on board as an executive producer. Rowan Athale will direct, from a script of his own.

According to a synopsis shared by Deadline and Variety , the movie "is the true story of Hamed’s humble beginnings on the tough working-class streets of Sheffield and his discovery by Ingle, himself a steel industry worker turned boxing trainer."

"Their unlikely partnership, along with Naz’s unorthodox style, cocky persona and sheer dominance in the ring, propelled them to the top of boxing’s elite and unprecedented levels of global superstardom, all in the face of the rampant Islamophobia and racism of '80s and '90s Britain," the synopsis adds, per the outlets.

Hamed, 50, is a five-time featherweight world champion, and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2015.

Ingle, who died at age 77 in May 2018, was a professional boxer himself. Born in Dublin, he trained multiple world-champion boxers during his lifetime, including Hamed.
