Travel Claims

Use this form if you have claims for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay, Missed Connection, Baggage & Personal Effects, Baggage Delay, Accident & Sickness Medical Expense, Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation of Remains. Any claims referencing a medical condition will need an Attending Physician Statement submitted with the claim.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Use this form for loss of life, limb or eye sight due to an accident occurring during your trip.

Attending Physician’s Statement

Use this form whenever you are filing medical related claims.

This form can be used for all types of leisure travel claims. Use this form if you have multiple types of claims to submit or if you are unsure of which form to use.

Car Rental Collision Damage

Use this form when your rental vehicle is damaged during your trip.

What to do when faced with an event that is insured under our policy

  • In respect of medical claims (including trip cancellation) you should submit claims to your private health provider prior to lodgment with Chubb Travel Protection.
  • For Travel or Baggage delays, a document must be obtained from the airline or carrier's representative involved confirming the flight number, delay period and the reason for the delay.
  • For checked-in baggage loss, damage or theft immediately (within 24 hours) report to the airline or the carrier involved and submit a claim to them. In many instances they may be responsible for damage and/or loss. Please also obtain a loss/damage Baggage Report from the airline or carriers representative.
  • Report any other baggage loss or damage to the local authority/police and retain the police report for your records to submit with claim form.
  • All losses under Travel Documents must be reported to local authorities and written acknowledgment obtained.
  • For liability claims do not make any admission or offer. Request the claim against you be put in writing.

How to submit your claim

  • You need to submit your claim within 90 days of the event giving rise to your claim.
  • Click here to download the  claim form .
  • Complete ALL relevant sections & questions of the claim form that relate to your claim in full. Missing out details will usually result in us needing to contact you for clarification and delay the assessment of your claim.
  • Ensure that you collate and attach to your claim form ALL the required supporting documents that relate to your claim. Failing to provide the required supporting documentation will usually result in us needing to contact you for clarification and delay the assessment of your claim.

  • Once submitted you should expect to receive confirmation of your claim number within 3 days for emailed claims and within 5 days for posted claims.

Financial Lines

For Financial Lines Claims, claim forms are not applicable. Words in bold have a specific meaning in the Policy and the Policy should be referred to when making any notification.

Please submit the following details / supporting documents (where applicable) for review to   [email protected] :

  • Policy number
  • Date of loss
  • Description of the claim or circumstances which the Insured considers may give rise to a claim or loss, including chronology of events where relevant
  • Nature of the alleged wrongful act, where applicable
  • Nature of the alleged or potential loss
  • Names of actual or potential claimants and their relationship with the Insured
  • Details of when and how the Insured first became aware of the claim or circumstances
  • Copies of letters of demand / pre-action letters / court documents / notices from authorities including copies of all relevant contracts / correspondences / legal opinion etc.
  • Details of any defence lawyers appointed including letters of engagement, hourly rates etc.
  • Any other documents which the Insured may consider relevant to the notified matter

At Chubb Travel Insurance, we work hard to process and pay your claim fairly and promptly. If you’ve experienced a loss under your policy, please download our claim form and follow the claim instructions below.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Chubb’s travel insurance provides cover for while you’re in hospital and for attending doctors’ fees, so you don’t have to pay significant medical costs upfront and claim back later. This isn’t always the case with minor injuries, though, so please talk to an agent to confirm. ( Ts & Cs apply )

For travel delays, please provide us with a confirmation document from the airline or carrier involved. It must confirm the flight or travel number, delay period, and reason for delay. Send this, along with your completed claim form, to  [email protected] .

Checked-in baggage loss, damage or theft:

Report checked-in baggage losses or damage to the airline or carrier within 24 hours. Often, they’re responsible for the damage and / or loss and you can submit a claim with them. Ensure that you get a loss / damage baggage report from them too.

Other baggage loss or damage:

Report other baggage losses or damage to the local authorities and submit the police report, along with your completed claim form, to  [email protected] .

Report any loss of travel documents to the local authorities and submit written acknowledgment, along with your completed claim form, to  [email protected] .

In the event of a personal liability, DO NOT make any admission or offer. Request that the claim against you be put in writing and emailed to you, and contact Chubb Assistance on +44 (0) 207 1737 904 or  [email protected]  as soon as you can, for more advice.

SUBMITTING YOUR CLAIM

  • Complete ALL relevant sections that relate to your claim in full. Missing details could delay your assessment.
  • Attach ALL of the required supporting documents to your claim. Failing to do this could delay the assessment of your claim.

Once your claim is submitted you should receive confirmation of your claim number – expect to wait 3 days for emailed claims and 5 days for posted claims. If you have a query about your claim or its status, please contact the Claims Dept. on +44 (0) 207 1737 904  or  [email protected] .

Through the Chubb Claim Centre you can begin processing your claim online, receive immediate confirmation of submission, reduce steps and time to completion, and receive SMS updates.

  • Your Details enables Chubb to validate your claim. You must have an email address to submit your claim online.
  • Supporting Documents vary based on claim type, but any relevant receipts, photographs or quotes should be attached to your online submission to expedite assessment.
  • Intended Payee Information allows Chubb Travel Insurance to quickly make approved payments.
  • Advise all claims to us within 30 days of a claim event or as soon as reasonably practicable.
  • You must submit all supporting documentation, e.g. medical reports, police reports, declarations, receipts, valuations or other such evidence we may request to assist us in the prompt resolution of your claim.
  • For liability claims do not make any admission or offer. Request the claim against you be put in writing.

  • Download the Claim Form  and complete ALL relevant sections in full.
