The Heineken Experience

The Heineken Experience is a brand experience within Heineken®’s oldest brewery, in the heart of Amsterdam. In 1988 the former brewery closed down, because we got too big for our boots. Today, the historical building serves as a venue where you can learn all about our Heineken® heritage, the brewing process, our sometimes crazy innovations, our sponsorings and the story behind the star. You’ll also learn about the best way to taste and enjoy your Heineken® beer.

  • Things to do in Amsterdam

Heineken Experience

Did you know that one of the most famous and most drunk beers in the world is neither Belgian nor German but Dutch? That’s right: the blond Heineken , a true icon in the history of beer, is brewed in Amsterdam and one of the most visited attractions in the Dutch capital is dedicated to it.

Housed in a historic building that was once the site of the first Heineken brewery, the Heineken Experience is an interactive museum celebrating the popular Dutch beer with the green bottle.

Don’t expect a boring visit made up only of long information panels to read: prepare yourself for an exciting experience that will engage all your senses, at the end of which an unmissable tasting awaits you.

Both entertaining and informative, a visit to the Heineken Experience is one of the things to do in Amsterdam that you will most enjoy telling your friends about.

It is also the perfect start (or end) to a walking tour of the charming De Pijp neighbourhood, an island connected to the centre of Amsterdam by 16 bridges: a former poor neighbourhood, it is now a shopping paradise with shops of all kinds and a lively daily market. The district is also full of characteristic pubs with an intimate and cosy atmosphere where you can deepen your knowledge of the Dutch brewing tradition .

Visit the Heineken Experience

Founded in the 19th century as a small local brewery and later becoming one of the world’s most productive breweries, the red-brick building that houses the Heineken Experience is the historic site of Heineken’s first beer production plant . The exterior has a nostalgic industrial archaeology charm, but the interior will amaze you with its modernity and futuristic attractions.

The factory has not been in operation since 1988, when production was moved to a larger and more modern plant to meet growing demand.

The building is therefore now entirely occupied by the Heineken Experience and rooms for corporate events and meetings. It can be visited by choosing between an independent tour (standard tour) and a guided tour (VIP tour).

Rock the City

The ‘Rock the City’ package allows you to combine a visit to the Heineken Experience with a fun cruise along the Amsterdam canals .

A grand finale awaits you at the A’DAM Lookout , Amsterdam’s tourist attraction with the most beautiful views of the city; if you’re a daredevil, you can also climb Europe’s highest swing and let yourself swing 100 metres above the ground.

The perfect match

The ‘The perfect match’ package is for football fans: it includes a guided tour of the Heineken Experience, bus transfer to the Johan Cruyff Arena with pub quiz and a beer, tour of the Johan Cruyff Arena (including a visit to the Heineken Sky Lounge).

Admission tickets for the Heineken Experience

Entrance tickets can no longer be bought at the Heineken Experience ticket offices , but must be purchased in advance online , even well in advance, as it is one of the most visited attractions in Amsterdam .

The standard tour is in English, but you can follow it in other languages by downloading a free app; if you don’t have a device connected to the internet, you can rent one for a small additional fee. The VIP tour and the activities in the Rock the City and The Perfect Match packages are in English only.

Admission with standard tour

The Heineken Experience tour is a comprehensive overview of one of the world’s most popular beers. You will learn about the history of the Heineken family, how the beer was born, how it is brewed today, how to tap it to perfection, how the brand logo evolved and more.

The production process is explained in detail at all stages, from ingredients to bottling. Ample space is also given to marketing: you will see historical Heineken advertisements from around the world and the major sporting, musical and other events to which Heineken has linked its name through sponsorship.

During the tour you can experience all sorts of things: sniffing malt and hops, visiting the former stables, making a music video and of course drinking a beer… actually two!

The standard tour is a fun attraction for everyone, but if you love beer, treat yourself to a VIP tour and be accompanied by a Heineken Connoisseur, a knowledgeable guide who will explain in more detail how the perfect pint of Heineken is brewed and served, with lots of behind-the-scenes information and trivia not available to standard tour participants.

With the VIP tour you get access to one of the exclusive Heineken Experience bars not open to the public and are presented with a personalised bottle of Heineken – a nice souvenir to take home and keep even when the beer is gone!

There are 5 beers for tasting with the VIP tour (on the standard tour there are 2).

Admission Heineken Experience + canal cruise

If you would like to treat yourself to a canal cruise in addition to the Heineken Experience, consider buying a combination ticket to save on the final cost.

Free or discounted admission with city cards

The Heineken Experience is one of the attractions included free of charge in the Amsterdam city cards of the Go City Explorer Pass and the All-Inclusive Pass . However, if you have purchased the official I Amsterdam City Card , you can save 25% on the entrance fee. You can see which card is cheaper for you on the Amsterdam city card page.

Opening hours

The Heineken Experience is open 7 days a week, all year round (including public holidays) from 10:30 until 19:30 on weekdays and until 21:00 at weekends. In the busiest months, i.e. July and August, the 9 p.m. closing time is also extended to midweek days. Reduced hours are only offered on 24 and 31 December.

No VIP tours are conducted on Saturdays.

Tour duration is approximately 90 minutes; for the VIP tour please allow at least two and a half hours. Please note that from two hours before closing time it is no longer possible to enter.

Visiting the Heineken Experience with children

As of November 2021, it is no longer permitted for children under 18 to visit the Heineken Experience.

How to get to the Heineken Experience

The Heineken Experience is located in De Pijp , a central district of Amsterdam, and is easily accessible on foot or by public transport.

The quickest way to get there is by metro : Vijzelgracht station (marked with the number 52) is only a 4-minute walk away. The tram is also a convenient way to get to the Heineken Experience: lines 1, 7, 19 and 24 stop close to the entrance.

Driving in Amsterdam is not easy, but if you want to get to the Heineken Experience by car, you will find 24-hour paid parking spaces nearby.

  • johnrV7115JV 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Not a must but perhaps interesting for Heineken fans. £16 each to go in. Interesting yes but all a bit muddled and disorganised: you'd arrive at a location (be it the brewery vats or bottling area; many steps but lifts and all in the one same building) and there'd be someone in the middle of talking about that area but they just did their spiel; you'd move on somewhere else and another high octane "guide" would be talking about another subject. There is a truly laughable item at the end where they give multiple warnings to anyone with a heart condition etc.. We were thinking it might be akin to a theme park anchor ride but you simply sit still whilst being bombarded by music and lights. You're given 2 beer voucher "plastic coins" and the beers (at the end) are 20cl but you can buy more. Worked out years ago that all mass produced lager tastes the same - the only difference is the way the brewers market their beer. Never to be compared with a Belgian lager which is the cheese compared with chalk. Read more Written April 18, 2024

  • 95courtney 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles YOU HAVE TO COME HERE!! One of the BEST tours!! We had a mixed group (some beer lovers, some not!) But we all enjoyed it all the same! So lovely to see staff who LOVE their job. From the second we walked in to the second we left staff were warm, friendly and enthusiastic! We especially loved how when we asked questions the enthusiasm oozed out of them telling us all they knew! We didn't stop smiling/laughing the whole way round. Not wanting to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't been, but it was so much more than a 'museum' so many surprised around each corner, cannot recommend ENOUGH!! Read more Written April 9, 2024
  • Z9858IIsamt 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Fun tour Dolores was our guide. She was so friendly, informative and patient. We had booked the VIP tour. There was a max of 10 in the group. Dolores began the tour with 8. 4 of the group didn’t speak English so weren’t too happy that the tour was in english. We were about 10 minutes in and 2 others joined us. They were also unhappy as they had missed the beginning. I felt sorry for Dolores but her warmth and humour made the tour enjoyable. Those disgruntled guests seemed to relax and go with the flow. The history part of the tour lasted for about 50 minutes. We were all round the brewery, even up on the roof top for some spectacular views of Amsterdam. Part of the VIP tour is a tasting session in a secret bar. We had 5 beers along with paired snacks……fabulous. This was my first time trying beer. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Also, as part of the tour, we were given a personalised bottle of Heineken and two tokens to redeem in the general bar. It was incredibly busy when we arrived for our tour at 2pm so felt it was well worth a little extra to book the VIP tour. Read more Written April 5, 2024
  • Y5125EYdave 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointingly poor from a global brand. Wow. I have just been to the whoop whoop Heineken Experience and was shocked with how bad it was. It certainly feels like Heineken have outsourced this to a second rate ‘digital’ marketing company full of teenagers. Other than the 4 ingredients (which are all listed on the bottle) I managed to survive the entire tour without learning a thing about the product. The guides act like they work for Disneyland and don’t seem to realise that it is an adult experience. The entire duration was exhausting listening to the guides wanting to whip everyone up into a childish frenzy whist nothing about the actual product was mentioned. For those readers of this that live in the U.K., it felt like this was an awful experience which was one of Lord Sugar’s tasks on The Apprentice! We were a group of 4 and it cost nearly €100 and felt that we got ripped off. Literally we got zero information or value for this price. I can’t recommend more enthusiastically that this is a waste of money and time. Heineken - who is this tour aimed at? I am in my 40s and loved your beer all over the world. I have a lower opinion of your company now. I recommend whoever is responsible for this (if they keep their job long) pop over to Brugges and go on the Brugse Zot Brewery tour. This may help them understand where expectations are for a ‘brewery tour’. I understand that you are one of the world’s biggest brand and probably desire to be leaders in these types of experiences, but for our party, you were way of the mark and have sadly damaged our option of Heineken. • AppletreeGirl 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Staggeringly bad. Unless you’re 16 avoid like the plague. I have to ask Heineken - who are you aiming this “experience” at? All I can assume is 15 or 16 year olds. The staff are over the top, so childish. Whooping and talking to us like we are teenagers. You learn so very little about the history of Heineken, they are too busy trying to turn it into a Disney-esque PR company nightmare. Just awful. The bar at the end is like something out of a 1980s Club 18-30 holiday, just dire, sticky tables, nowhere to sit and like a scene out of some average teen flick. My advice would be save your money, sit in a bar in town, drink what you like and Wiki Heineken. You’ll learn a lot more and won’t have lost the will to live. Read more Written April 4, 2024
  • CanadianMum 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Proost! Well organized and executed tour. Some parts easy to self navigate, other parts were great having a tour guide for more explanation. Loved the displays and simple straightforward information regarding the family business. Wonderful sensory fun along the way and of course a free beer! Being celiac, of course I knew what I was getting into not being able to enjoy a complimentary Heineken. I appreciated the soft drink alternative but it will be extra special when there is a gluten free Heineken beer option! Read more Written April 3, 2024
  • MJBoyt 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Would highly recommend Our VIP host was Kenley who was a delight. It was great to jump all the queues! The VIP bar was the highlight with five beers to sample plus accompanying nibbles. It was all very intuitive and certainly not rushed. After that it was another beer in a more communal area before two tokens each got us two final beers at the bar! We had an engraved bottle of Heineken zero as a parting gift. All in all it lasted around 2 hours. We both really enjoyed the whole experience. Read more Written April 1, 2024

The rest of the experience is also good, plus you get to drink the product. We also went to the rooftop terrace, although other than the view didn’t add much. My wife doesn’t drink beer, but still found it interesting - she just would have preferred a beer-free cocktail at the rooftop bar! Read more Written April 1, 2024
  • K1882HAamym 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A need to add to the itinerary Loved this!!! I’m not a beer drinker and had no interest in going on this experience however my partner wanted to. I definitely do not regret this. Walked around the brewery, all staff knowledgable. Had 5 free beers (one after the “ride”, one at the challenge ( I won) and 3 at the bar as a kind man gifted myself and partner his tokens). Would definitely recommend this, soaked up a good few hours and the rooftop bar has wonderful views of Amsterdam. Read more Written March 28, 2024

The inside story

Heineken , a huge multinational company and one of the largest beer producers in the world , was founded in 1864 by Dutch businessman, Gerard Adriaan Heineken. The famous beer was brewed right in the center of Amsterdam until 1988 when the production facility moved to more modern premises with greater capacity on the outskirts of the city.

The former brewery was renamed the Amsterdam Heineken Experience and transformed into a spectacular museum dedicated to the popular beer brand, with many interactive activities and exhibitions. Nowadays, it is one of the city's most famous attractions and a must-do for all beer enthusiasts .

Visitors to the museum can enjoy a multi-sensory interactive experience . You will have the opportunity to feel the hops, smell the unmistakable scent of the brew, and eventually taste the world-class beer. Learn the history of this renowned brand and the Heineken family heritage as you go behind-the-scenes . Along the way, you’ll have the chance to watch historical Heineken commercials and see how the brand has evolved throughout the years.

As you walk through the amazing 19th-century building, you’ll see vintage brewing equipment , including the gigantic copper tanks that were used to brew the original Heineken. You will also get a chance to see how beer is made, from water all the way through to bottling. You’ll then finish your tour with some complimentary beers at the bar.

The Heineken Experience is open daily from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm, with extended evening hours on the weekend (10.30 am to 9.00 pm). On December 24 and 31, the opening hours are from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. In July and August, it is open until 9.00 pm throughout the entire week. The last entry is 2 hours before closing time.

Please note that children can only be admitted when accompanied by an adult. No alcohol is served to visitors under the age of 18.

Amsterdam Offer: Canal Cruise and Heineken Experience Tickets

The two must-see experiences in amsterdam at the best price.

Take the opportunity to book your Heineken Experience together with a canal cruise to get the best price on the most popular attractions in the city.

With this pack you can take a guided tour of the old Heineken factory, where they will explain the process of brewing beer, one of the most precious goods in Holland. Although the explanations in the factory are always in English, you can download an APP where you can follow all the indications and understand well what they are explaining.

But in addition to the visit to the Heineken Experience, you can relax on one of the typical cruises that ply the canals of the city. The boats leave every half hour, which gives you more flexibility in choosing your schedule.

Why I like this option : this is the most complete and convenient option if you are thinking of enjoying both experiences. Buying them together will save you time at the ticket office and money, as it is cheaper than buying them separately.

Access the Heineken Experience with the Amsterdam Pass

Another way to get to know the Heineken Experience (the best if you are spending a few days in the Dutch capital) is by acquiring the Amsterdam Pass. It is the only tourist pass in the city that includes this visit within its attractions and also adds the possibility of getting on its various canal cruises.

This pass will give you access to more than 30 museums and attractions of the capital, from the most cultural points of interest to other leisure. You can visit from the essential Rijksmuseum or the Tassenmuseum Amsterdam, a magnificent 17th century canal house that is part of the Amsterdam Canal Ring Area, a Unesco World Heritage Site, to the fun attraction of the Amsterdam Dungeon, the interesting Museum of the Canals or peek at the famous viewpoint A'dam Lookout .

All this without queues and saving up to 50% on their individual tickets, plus the possibility of unlimited travel and move around the city aboard one of its tourist buses or one of the pleasant cruises that travel the famous canals of the capital. You can customize this card and choose to use it for 1, 2, 3 or 5 full days. I leave you here linked my practical guide about Amsterdam Pass and Other Passes so you can read more.

What is the Heineken Experience?

This experience is located inside the original factory of the Heineken family built in the center of the city of Amsterdam in 1867 to produce all the drinks of the brand until, given the great demand for beer in the 80s, the company had to move to another larger plant on the outskirts. This is how, in 2001 and to take advantage of this building with so much history behind it, the Heineken Museum was created.

In its interactive tour and thanks to an audio guide available in several languages, Spanish among them, you will learn about the origin and evolution of this renowned brand, its 4 natural ingredients and secrets and the real processes for the production of Heineken beer, while you walk among the huge copper tanks that were originally used in its production and you can even try to make your own beer for a day!

There is also an APP with a guide to the Heineken Experience, which you can download to get the most out of your tour, which lasts an hour and a half. There are millions of visitors who experience the Heineken Experience every year, so if you do not want to miss it I advise you to get your ticket without queues in advance.

Book tickets for the Heineken Experience

Schedule of the Heineken Experience

  • Monday to Thursday from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. Last access at 17:30
  • From Friday to Sunday and every day in July and August from 10:30 to 21:00 (last access at 19:00)

How to get to the Heineken Experience

The Heineken Museum is located in the center of Amsterdam so getting there is very easy through its streetcars, specifically with lines 7, 10, 16, 24, 25 and 78.

Other places of interest near the Heineken Experience

Because of its privileged location, near the Heineken Museum there are several attractions that are also worth a visit during your trip to Amsterdam. Two of the must-see museums of the city are very close, such as its main art gallery with more than 8000 works of art, the Rijksmuseum , 492 meters away, and the second most visited museum in the city, the wonderful Van Gogh Museum , which exhibits more than 200 original works of the Dutch painter.

Very close by, about 600 meters away, you can visit the amazing house of Amsterdam's ruling family Van Loon in his Valoon Museum , on Keizersgracht. About 960 meters away you should visit the Flower Market, where the locals of the city usually buy their seeds, gardening supplies, plants and flowers because it is a real orchard with hundreds of species and tulips of all colors, as the emblematic flower it is in the Netherlands.

I also recommend that you take advantage of your day at the Heineken Experience to eat a pannenkoeken, a typical pancake but Dutch style, with sweet and savory fillings and that is really typical in this city. Nearby you will find one of the best places to taste them, in the De Carrousel Pannenkoeken, in H.M. van Randwijkplantsoen 1, a curious restaurant built on an old carousel.

Other interesting things to do in Amsterdam

If in addition to falling in love with Amsterdam you want to take advantage of your trip to discover its surroundings, you are in luck, because there are many day trips that bring you closer to the famous Dutch windmills, its tulip fields and its most famous cities, such as Rotterdam or The Hague. To help you choose your excursion, I have created this practical guide: 5 Best Day Trips from Amsterdam . If you allow me, I recommend my favorite, the Bruges. I'll tell you about it here: Bruges Day Trips from Amsterdam .

  • Entrance to the Heineken Experience (incl. 2 drinks)
  • Canal cruise with a Heineken Experience guide
  • Entrance to the A'DAM Lookout

You will start with a tour at the Heineken Experience, so we would advise you to arrive on time. After that, the boat will depart from the canal in front of the Heineken Experience and will drop you off at the A'DAM Tower (which is your final destination). Please note that the boat is one-way.

Children are allowed in the attraction as long as they are accompanied by an adult. We do not serve alcoholic beverages to visitors under the age of 18. In this case, they will receive 2 complimentary glasses of a soft drink or water. Please note that prams are not allowed on the tour. You can leave it in our cloakroom (free of charge).

We do have a cloakroom available at the attraction and it is free of charge. So you can just leave your belongings safe with us and go enjoy the tour with your hands free.

Unfortunately, the IAmsterdam citycard discount does not apply in our online ticket shop. However, you can purchase your discounted tickets at the Heineken Experience register. Tickets at the register cost €18 but with your 25% discount, the price of your ticket will be €15,75 per person.

The OnePass app is your ticket to the 2024 NFL draft in Detroit: What to know

heineken experience tours and tickets

You're a Steelers fan from Pittsburgh coming in for the 2024 NFL draft in Detroit. Or a 49ers fan hopping a flight from San Francisco. Or a Dolphins fan from Miami.

Maybe you're a Michigan-made Detroit Lions fan driving in from the north, the Detroit suburbs or somewhere in the Motor City — but you know that your home's downtown won't be the same for the draft on April 25-27.

The NFL OnePass app — your ticket to all things draft from the NFL — is the official guide to the draft, with lots of information about the city. It has draft news and mock drafts, links on how to plan your trip, including lodging, things to do, metro Detroit sports bars and Detroit dining from A-Z, with links to visitdetroit.com .

Here's a tour of what this app tells us about the draft, the D and the offerings for the estimated 300,000 people coming to the big event.

How to get the NFL OnePass app

The NFL OnePass app can be downloaded in the App Store or on Google Play . Adults 18 and older are required to register for the 2024 NFL draft through the app or at nfl.com/draftaccess , and can register up to five minors to bring to the draft experience.

A quick note: There's a lot to explore on the app; by necessity, this is a partial look. It includes attractions, FAQs, transportation, maps, accessibility, security and prohibited items just to name a few. The look-see for this article took 90 minutes, so you'll want to give yourself time to explore everything so you can plan.

Once you register, you'll get emails, too. One that popped into my inbox as I wrote this was titled, "Get to know the NFL Prospects."

Let's get this snapshot tour started.

When is the 2024 NFL draft?

The 2024 NFL draft is April 25-27.

  • The first round takes place at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25.
  • Rounds 2-3 take place starting at 7 p.m. Friday, April 26.
  • Rounds 4-7 take place starting at noon Saturday, April 27.

Where is the 2024 NFL draft?

The draft will take place in downtown Detroit, around Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza. From Hart Plaza, you can see the Detroit River and our Canadian neighbors in Windsor.

What's the cost to attend the 2024 NFL draft?

Entry is free and you can register for entry by downloading the NFL OnePass app or at NFL.com/DraftAccess .

How do I attend the NFL Draft Experience?

To enter the 2024 NFL Draft Experience, the free fan experience with exhibits that will take place all three days at Hart Plaza, you've got to register via the NFL OnePass app. Adults (18 and older) are required to register, but also can register up to five children.

Get there early as attendance will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Hours will be noon-10 p.m. April 25-26 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. April 27. Fans are invited to stay and watch the draft on the stage and screens until the last pick each day.

The Draft Theater adjacent to Campus Martius Park is where player selections are announced and where concerts will be held. It's for invited ticket holders. However, as seats become available, fans will have an opportunity to be selected for standing room only and other seating, depending on availability. Theater hours are approximately 5 p.m.-11 p.m. April 25-26 and noon-7 p.m. April 27.

Fans attending the Draft Experience will have sightlines to the Draft Theater from Woodward Avenue to watch the draft picks and concerts as well as screens to watch within the Draft Experience.

What about security?

Fans should be prepared to go through airport-level screening, and the NFL clear bag policy will be in effect. (You're encouraged not to bring any type of bag with you to expedite your entry.) Exceptions to the size limit of 12-by-6-by 12-inches will be made for medically necessary items.

Security around the draft site will be heightened and all items you carry will be inspected and possibly prohibited. (Friendly reminder: Prohibited items can't be accepted, stored or checked in by the NFL or Detroit police.)

Some prohibited items include firearms, knives, explosives, beach balls, footballs, chairs, drones and umbrellas.

What is permitted?

• Strollers and baby carriages, but bags and blankets must be removed, screened by X-ray and inspected.

• Small cameras and binoculars.

• Empty, reuseable water bottles for free water filling.

• Service animals and service animals in training (keep household pets and emotional support animals at home).

• Wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and three- or four-wheeled scooters for those with mobility disabilities.

What can I do or see at the NFL Draft Experience?

For the athletic:

• 40-yard dash: Race down the field against opponents and digital NFL players on a giant 40-yard-long LED wall.

• Vertical jump: Find out the differential between your reach and the flag you hit.

• Hail Mary: Throw a deep pass over defenders into a drop-in net.

For the not-so-athletic (everyone, actually):

• Free autographs from current NFL players and league legends. The schedule will be available April 20 in the app with regular updates. (Note: this is subject to change without notice.)

• Step inside a uniformed body-cast mold bearing the insignia of your favorite NFL team for a photo

• Take a photo in one of the jumbo photo frames.

• Visit a replica of the official NFL draft stage and take your photo behind the podium as the No. 1 draft pick.

• Visit a replica NFL locker room as it appears on game day and experience the sights of a real NFL pregame inside a video tunnel.

• Take your photo with an oversize replica of all 32 NFL team helmets.

• See all 57 Super Bowl rings and take a digital photo with your favorite ring on your finger.

• Take a photo with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, presented to the team that wins the Super Bowl.

Will the Pro Football Hall of Fame be represented?

Yes! There will be a curated exhibit to include:

• Hall of Fame bronze busts of Lem Barney, Joe DeLamielleure, Calvin Johnson, Alex Karras, Barry Sanders, Charles Woodson and Jerome Bettis.

• George S. Halas NFC Championship Trophy.

• Lamar Hunt AFC Championship Trophy.

• Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

• Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.

What's going on at the Corner Ballpark?

Bring your kiddos to The Corner Ballpark on Michigan Avenue, site of the former Tiger Stadium, for youth-focused activities. (NFL OnePass is required for access.) Don’t worry, there will be screens to watch the draft on the NFL Network so you don’t miss the latest happenings there.

Corner Ballpark will be open 3 p.m.-10 p.m. April 25-26 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. April 27. The NFL clear bag policy and airport-level screening will be in effect at this venue, too.

Activities include:

• Kick a field goal through NFL uprights.

• Try on NFL equipment.

• Watch and learn from USA Football coaches and NFL players about football and NFL Flag football as well as Heads Up tackling during clinics, competitions and demonstrations. On-field clinics will be open to those age 6-14. Daily clinics are open on a first-come, first-served basis. Check the app for the most updated times each day.

  • Navigate an obstacle course and train like an NFL player.
  • Snap and complete a pass like a pro into a drop-in net.

Food, drinks, entertainment, dancing and shopping

Local fare will be showcased through the Taste of Detroit concessions, bringing flavors from neighborhoods in Detroit including soul food, Greek, Mexican, Middle Eastern and East African cuisines. The restaurants will keep 100% of their revenue.

More than two dozen Detroit restaurants are to be featured in a "taste of the town" tailgate.

Here’s a quick sample of the businesses listed on the app: Waka by Baobab Fare; Good Cakes and Bakes; Chef Greg’s Soul “N” The Wall; El Parian Taco; Detroit 75 Kitchen; Kuzzo’s Chicken & Waffles; Golden Fleece; La Marsa Cuisine; Detroit Water Ice Factory and Mom’s Spaghetti.

A handful of food trucks also are to be at the Corner Ballpark, including Curt Got Crabs and Da Bomb Taco.

The Bud Light Backyard Bar will be for those 21 and older.

Free concerts will be hosted before Round 1 on April 25, Round 3 on April 26 and following Round 7 on April 27, live on the Draft Theater stage following each night of the draft. Concert-viewing is on a first-come, first-served basis and standing room only.

Dancing will play an integral role in the draft events Saturday. The Detroit Hustle will be celebrated across Campus Martius, with fan participation encouraged.

The NFL Shop at 1001 Woodward Ave. will be open to buy your favorite team's swag as well as draft merchandise. It opens 10 a.m. April 20 with hours 10 a.m.-8 p.m. April 20-21 and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. April 22-23. It will be closed April 24 and reopen noon-10 p.m. April 25-26 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. April 27. Purchases are cash-free.

Getting into and around downtown

You have options, which the app breaks down in detail. And drivers, expect road closures, some of which have been happening since draft setup began.

If you decide to drive downtown , make a plan and prearrange parking. Many off-street lots and garages are booked, and street parking will be limited or restricted in the area. Parking regulations will be enforced; vehicles may be towed. Those planning to park downtown are encouraged to arrive by 10 a.m. You may find off-street parking options on the Park Detroit app or on Park Whiz.

Your noncar options include the Detroit People Mover , which will operate 24 hours a day from 7 a.m. April 25 through 12 a.m. April 28, and the QLINE along Woodward Avenue, per the app.

In terms of bus service, SMART will have park-and-ride services from various points in metro Detroit, including Great Lakes Crossing, several Meijer store locations and Oakland County Community College. It also has its FAST service on Gratiot, Woodward and Michigan Avenue. DDOT services will operate with modified downtown routes because of road closures.

There will be designated shuttle and ride-share drop-off points throughout downtown on Woodward, Jefferson and Fort Street. Detroit Air Xpress, or DAX, is a nonstop coach bus service connecting downtown Detroit to Detroit Metro Airport, and D2A2 is an express coach bus that connects downtown Detroit to downtown Ann Arbor.

How else is the city celebrating?

Free family-friendly events will span several downtown parks within walking distance of the draft site during the three days, including Capitol Park, Beacon Park, Paradise Valley Beatrice Buck Park, Grand Circus Park and a closed-off portion of Woodward between State and Witherell.

Big screens will show the draft action; nearly four dozen vendors will showcase products; more than 60 local artists, musicians and entertainers will participate, and the city will feature interpretive art installations for photo ops. There's cigar rolling April 25 at Paradise Valley Beatrice Buck Park and daily cornhole tournaments from 4-6 p.m. at Beacon Park planned.

And nearly three dozen local food trucks will have tailgating fare. You don't need the NFL OnePass to attend the event in these parks, but you will have to pass through security.
