Kia Cee'd, Cruise control addition

Hi all, I am thinking about having a cruise control added to my new Cee'd, I have been quoted £550 (UK) for Kia to do it. Does that sound about right, or is there anywhere else I could get it done (without affecting 7 year warranty)? Many thanks

Thanks for that Ron, I have had a look on the Rostra site, there is no mention for the Cee'd, I will drop them a line and let you all know. The only worry I have is about the Kia warranty should anything go wrong down the line. Would Kia void the warranty because of the after market cruise control?  

Ahh! Just the topic I've been looking for..! I'm living in Ireland; where the Cee'd is limited to the EX and LX models only. The only 'option' we have is metallic paint. My question is whether the Cruise Control that Kia will install is going to have an integrated factory finish (such as on the indicator stalk) or would it be a button placed somewhere obscure on the dash?  

Hi, as soon as I get my rear end repaired I will be seriously talking with Kia to find out exactly what is involved and what I am going to get for my money. As you say, I need to know about the 'controls'. On the factory fitted cruise for the Cee'd, the 'control buttons' (as shown in the owners manual) are on the steering wheel where my radio controls are. As soon as I know, I will let you all know.  

Still not got the rear end repaired yet. So far, I am told that the aftermarket cruise will have an additional stalk. The factory fitted type have the buttons on the steering wheel. As soon as I get the rear end repaired I will get more details about the cruise and will post back  

Rostra have a large selection of switches, including a very neat steering wheel mount RF switch. See link to the Cerato thread posted above. Fitting legitimate aftermarket products like an in dash stereo, cruise control, etc., will not impact on the warranty - confirm this with Kia.  

Hi I want CC also. Romanian dealers do not have yet the price list... but it is available on Romanian site ( KIA cee'd - Responds to your life! ) as accessory for 104 EUR (w/out VAT).. so the price mentioned above is correct... hope they are allowed to install it on my machine, which is not top model (it appears as accessory only for 2.0 petrol engine, and not for 1.4 as I have) Good job, hope I'll have it soon ! News Have a look here: http://www.clubkiaromania.ro/forum/...u-confortul-tau-www-comfortauto-t2472-20.html Price for gasoline is ~500EUR and for diesel about ~400EUR, including installation costs). So far no authorised dealer wants to fit it so warranty may be affected. I'll keep you informed.  

So did anyone manage to get it fitted and how is it working out?

Cruise Control The cruise control is parmanently the problem of KIA Cee'd Petrol motors 1.4 and 1.6 :00000715: all who are able to provide information or help.  

There is a cruise control for cee'd 2007-2009 gasoline motors on danish KIA site/Kia shop: KIA MOTORS - DANMARK: THE POWER TO SURPRISE Price:~550 euro. If anyone is from Denmark?  

Here in Sweden Cruise Control is available in combination with all engines except 1,4 petrol. It's included in a package containing a lot of other stuff so I can't see the price on it separately. Since it exists with the petrol engines in some countries it should'nt be such a big problem fitting it afterwards. The controls for the Cruise Control is a part of the steering wheel so there must be room for it on cars that don't have it (?). Then it should be only a matter of downloading software to the car to make it work. (That's how it was on my old Volvo V50 at least).  

In kia ceed 1.4&1.6 gasoline there isn't electronic throttle -that's the main problem with cruise control.To install CC in those types is difficult. Jensam, can You verify if there is a possibility to instal CC in ceed MY2008 1.6 gasoline? Maybe You can give the link to this product in Sweden?  

Users from other countries interested in instalation of cruise control! Let's take part in searching documentation & possibility of import this product to Your country from Denmark.  

Cruise Control We see that Cruise Control for gasoline motors 1.4 and 1.6 after poor discussion seems fuzzier than before we started. It is little weird that no response from KIA appeared (the problem captivates more than 5000 people who have read the topic).  

I have received the reply from KIA Slovakia: there is no possible to install CC in ceed 1.4/1.6 gasoline. But in Denmark... A diler from Denmark wrote to me that this kit is the regional production - not official KIA product. I'll install Waeco MS50 http://www.carware.ru/m_galleryphoto.php?galleryId=16 in my ceed. It's quite cheep(150euro) and I'll do it in KIA service in Poland.

Please let us know about your experience when you will pass several tenths of miles with your installed Cruise Control (Tempomat). I know that Czech people are very interested in installation according to Czech KIA forum discussion. Do you have KIA Ceed forum in Poland ? I couldn't find it.
