Chloe Byrne

This Spring the adventures of a certain blue-jacketed bunny won’t just exist in the pages of Beatrix Potter’s books, instead, they’ve become an interactive reality with The Peter Rabbit™ Easter Adventure . Unfolding among the charming bustle of Covent Garden market from March 22 to April 16 , you can treat the kids to an unforgettable Easter holiday by helping Beatrix Potter save Jemima Puddleduck from the clutches of bearded grump Mr McGregor. How many kids can go back to school and say they saved the day with Peter Rabbit?

Brought to life through a magical mix of storytelling , live performances and fantastic puppetry , the 50-minute experience is fun for all the family. You’ll not only get to meet the likes of Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs Tiggy Winkle and cousin Benjamin Bunny, but there are also plenty of creative activities , a jam-packed gift shop , photo opportunities and even a cafe where you can refuel with a drink and some tasty treats.

woman with Peter rabbit toy in front of Covent Garden

With its centuries-old history as London’s largest market, Covent Garden is the perfect setting to transport you back to the era of Beatrix Potter’s wondrous writing. In the early 20th century the building would have been alive with energy, filled with bellowing calls of traders and the fresh aromas of fruit and vegetables. You’ll be able to follow in the footsteps of many curious kids who weaved between the stalls back then as you use secret notes, maps and other clues to track down a certain white duck wearing a pink shawl and bonnet (that will narrow it down – you don’t see many dressed-up ducks waddling around the city).

When you and the children fancy a break from the quest you can retreat to the sanctum of the indoor activity area . There, kids can unleash their creative side with colouring in , dot to dot and ‘find Peter’. It is located in the Easter Adventure Shop , so just beware that you might get distracted by the assortment of books, adorable children’s toys and Peter Rabbit-themed goodies on the way.

On the other hand, if your kid seems to have a relentless pit of energy and you’re after something slightly more active to burn some of it off; then why not let them get behind the wheel of a mini-rover for their very first driving lesson? All perfectly safe of course, let’s just hope they’re not a mini Mr McGregor in the making.

Barrows, West Piazza, Covent Garden

Whether it’s a fond trip down memory lane for adults or a chance to step into a recently-read story for the little ones, this adventure ticks all the boxes for a great family day out. It already proved a hit last summer, when the Peter Rabbit™ Garden Adventure at Blenheim Palace earned rave 5-star reviews, and now it’s come to the city with a whole new mission and activities to get stuck in to. Make sure to grab your tickets while you can cause they’ll no doubt be disappearing faster than the white flash of a rabbit’s tail.

REVIEWS FROM FROM PETER RABBIT™ EASTER ADVENTURE

A fantastic experience for the whole family. The animal puppets were brilliant, the cast all standout and the script was very funny. Without any spoilers, the sets were beyond inventive and a treat for the eyes. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Beautiful show! Had the best time with my family, brilliant acting from all puppeteers and actors, it was a heartwarming and thrilling adventure for the entire family. Can’t recommend it enough!

Fabulous day out for all the family. The acting and puppets were superb.

Brilliant interactive show for all the family. Adults enjoyed it as much as the kids! Friendly staff and beautiful puppets.

The actors are fantastic. I think the adults enjoyed it as much, if not more than the children. Well thought out and a very unique experience. Highly recommended.

The Peter Rabbit Easter Adventure, Covent Garden, 2023

Time Out says

Charming adventure for kids on the streets of Covent Garden, based – loosely! – on the Beatrix Potter characters

Since the copyright on Beatrix Potter’s works expired a decade ago, it’s been open season on rabbits. Many youngsters these days will have been introduced to Peter Rabbit et al not through  Potter’s whimsically menacing books, but the disconcertingly action-packed CBeebies show or the aggressively ironic James Corden movies.

Kiddie immersive show ‘Peter Rabbit’s Easter Adventure’ is another one that’s very much not in the literal spirit of the books. But it is a lovely little perambulatory theatre show that allows small audiences to take a hop, skip and a jump through Covent Garden while meeting some familiar faces, rendered in puppet form.

The show begins in a room above the Chestnut Bakery, where we’re met by an actor playing Beatrix Potter, who explains that she’s been so busy with her nature studies that she’s forgotten to buy Peter and the gang any Easter presents (you know: Easter presents. Those presents you… get people… at Easter).

Despite the puppet Peter’s evident disappointment, we’re ‘saved’ by the news that his nemesis Mr McGregor has abducted Jemima Puddleduck. We’re soon off on a mission to rescue her.

It’s not Shakespeare. More to the point, it’s not Potter: a long section in which a plummy Benjamin Bunny bangs on about something called ‘carrot brain’ feels both never-ending and dramatically off-piste from the vibe the author was going for.

Still, it’s perhaps best to think of the post-copyright Potter menagerie as more like a series of wholesome stock characters than anything that you can expect to function as a coherent world. It’s really nice to see the kids don their rabbit-ear headbands and hop around the streets of Covent Garden, and whatever the limits of the show’s script, the fact that it’s got a series of wholesome little performance spaces set up in one of the busiest tourist spots on earth is delightful – it makes you look at the market with fresh eyes, and helps you appreciate how un-jaded with central London your offspring are at this age. It is, in general, a show that’s well crafted for a young audience, taking them on a gentle adventure that’s interesting but never overloading.

It takes some liberties, and it’s a bit of a swizz charging a bolt-on price for the play area at the end, but it’s ultimately very sweet: the perfect Easter present!

Penguin Ventures and Histrionic Productions are bringing a Peter Rabbit-themed immersive experience to London’s Covent Garden Piazza this Easter, from 21st March to 16th April.

The 50-minute show, “The Peter Rabbit Easter Adventure”, will combine live performance and puppetry as it follows the story of Beatrix Potter in her attempts to rescue Jemima Puddle-Duck from the clutches of Mr McGregor. Visitors will be encouraged to hunt for clues and a host of Potter’s most famous characters, including Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny and Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, will interact with the audience,.

It follows a similar immersive experience, “The Peter Rabbit Garden Adventure”, which was held at Blenheim Palace last summer. The upcoming show will be adapted by Calum Finlay, directed by Barney McElholm and designed by Tina Torbey.

Thomas Merrington, creative director of Penguin Ventures, said: “Experiential is an important part of our licensing business at Penguin Ventures, enabling us to bring our classic brands to family audiences in fresh and exciting new ways. So I’m thrilled that our partnership with Histrionic Productions has evolved to bring The World of Peter Rabbit to central London this Easter. Covent Garden is the perfect location for this all-new Easter Adventure, providing a stunning backdrop to the incredible, immersive experience that Histrionic has created.”

Included in the ticket price will be an “Activity Burrow” for creative crafting for all ages, access to “Mr McGregor’s Obstacle Course” for children 4 and above, and the chance to have a souvenir photograph taken with Peter Rabbit.

Alongside the experience, Penguin is poised to open the Easter Adventure Shop in Covent Garden’s Market Building on 5th March. The store will offer Peter Rabbit merchandise, a café and an activity area.

Tickets for the adventure go on sale at midday on 27th February and are available from www.peterrabbiteasteradventure.com and the shop.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
