This short yet fascinating walking tour starts when you meet your guide of Tlingit descent who shares personal knowledge of the many changes Ketchikan has experienced. Stroll along Ketchikan's infamous Creek Street, the former red light district, where you will learn of its important economic role in the city's early history. Discover the story behind the many totem poles that line the streets, and more about the historic "Married Man's Trail." Your guide will tell you of the incredible journey salmon endure as they return to their spawning ground. Enjoy the many trees, shrubbery and flowers along the route and learn of their importance to the Tlingit's food gathering practices. Questions are encouraged, as your host would like you to leave Ketchikan with a better understanding of the community and its culture.
