Warbringer is AWSOME! I will attend a Warbringer show every chance I get!

For some reason, Songkick deamands that a review has to be 30 words long. I have accomplished that.

It was a pretty good show. I've seen Warbringer a few times before in years past and it felt like there was less energy this time. Maybe it was the sound quality, but I just didn't get as amped as I remember. Nonetheless, it was still fun and you should give them a chance if you have the opportunity. I'm going to assume it was an anomaly.

Classic rock band’s former guitarist rushed to hospital just before concert

PHOENIX, Arizona — former lead guitarist for Genesis is recovering after he had an adverse reaction to medication to treat bronchitis, forcing him to cancel a concert moments before it was to begin.

Steve Hackett wrote in a post on Facebook that he had a “last-minute adverse reaction” to the medication before Saturday’s show at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

“I’m so sorry for the scare,” Hackett writes. “I’d hoped to power through the Phoenix show but I had a bronchial infection and a last-minute adverse reaction to medication. Consequently, the medics took me to hospital.

“I am now recovering and glad to be feeling okay. I was very sad to miss the show and I will return to play in Phoenix as soon as possible. My thanks to you all for your understanding and support.”

A spokesperson tells the Los Angeles Times that Hackett intends to reschedule the Phoenix show.

On Tuesday, Hackett again posted on Facebook saying “Hello Mexico! All clear and hear I come!” He was scheduled to play Wednesday night in Guadalajara, Mexico, and Friday in Mexico City. USA Today reports the tour focuses on “Foxtrot,” an album he recorded with Genesis during the 1970s, and on “The Circus and the Nightwhale,” a solo album he released in February.

Hackett was with Genesis from 1971 to 1977 with vocalist Peter Gabriel, keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist Mike Rutherford and drummer Phil Collins, and played on six studio albums. Hackett left the band in October 1977, saying he “needed autonomy.”

K.C. & the Sunshine Band, Rose Royce, Dazz Band to play in Tuscaloosa

warbringer band tour

KC & the Sunshine Band, Rose Royce, Dazz Band will play Tuscaloosa's Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater at 6:30 p.m. June 7. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday through www.ticketmaster.com , or at the venue's box office, 2710 Jack Warner Parkway, downtown Tuscaloosa. Prices will be $99.50, $89.50, $59.50, $49.50, $29.50 and $19.50, not including fees and taxes.

Harry Wayne Casey lent his name to the disco-funk-pop band he co-founded in 1973, tied to the Sunshine State where it began, in Hialeah. Bass player Richard Finch was Casey's frequent co-writer, and brought in studio musicians and others from local bands.

More: Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater preps for 2024 concert season with new name

Their hits included "(Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty," "I'm Your Boogie Man," "Get Down Tonight," "That's the Way (I Like It)," "Keep it Comin' Love," "Boogies Shoes," "Give It Up," and "Please Don't Go." KC and the Sunshine Band scored five No. 1s among those hits. Casey and Finch also wrote and produced for others, including the hit "Rock Your Baby" and "Queen of Clubs" for George McCrae.

As disco's glimmer faded, Casey had a duet hit with Teri DeSario on "Yes I'm Ready." Finch and he split, and Casey went into hiatus in the mid-'80s, but reformed the band, using some old and some new members, releasing compilations, live albums and some new original music.

Rose Royce worked up its first major success with the No. 1 "Car Wash," theme to the 1976 comedy movie. The soul-R&B group's other hits include "I Wanna Get Next to You," "Love Don't Live Here Anymore," "I'm Going Down" and "Wishing on a Star."

The Dazz Band has played the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater in 2022, before it was renamed, as part of the Flashback Fun Fest. The name refers to its intended niche, disco jazz. The Cleveland, Ohio-born group's hits include "Let It Whip," "Joystick" and "Let it All Blow."

Dickey Betts of Allman Brothers Band Honored by Ex-Bandmates After His Death: 'You Will Be Forever Remembered'

"With deep sadness the Allman Brothers Band learned today that founding member Dickey Betts has passed away peacefully in his home," said the group

Ed Perlstein/Redferns/Getty

Dickey Betts ' ex-fellow Allman Brothers Band members are honoring the late singer-songwriter and guitarist.

After news of Betts' death at age 80 was confirmed by his family on April 18, his former "Ramblin' Man" bandmates reacted with a heartfelt statement issued to PEOPLE in a press release.

"With deep sadness the Allman Brothers Band learned today that founding member Dickey Betts has passed away peacefully in his home in Sarasota, Florida, following a period of declining health," wrote the Grammy-winning band, co-founded by brothers Duane and Gregg Allman with an original lineup also featuring Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson.

Jeffrey Mayer/Getty

"Dickey wrote quintessential Brothers songs including 'Blue Sky,' 'Rambling Man,' 'Jessica,' 'In Memory of Elizabeth Reed' and many others," continued the statement. "His extraordinary guitar playing alongside guitarist Duane Allman created a unique dual guitar signature sound that became the signature sound of the genre known as Southern Rock."

"He was passionate in life, be it music, songwriting, fishing, hunting, boating, golf, karate or boxing. Dickey was all in on and excelled at anything that caught his attention," the musicians said.

"Betts joins his brothers, Duane Allman, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks and Gregg Allman, as well as ABB crew, members Twiggs Lyndon, Joe Dan Petty, Red Dog, Kim Payne and Mike Callahan in that old Winnebago in the sky touring the world taking their music to all who will listen," they added.

Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

"Our condolences to his immediate family Donna, Duane & Lisa, Christy & Frank, Jessica and Kim. Play on Brother Dickey, you will be forever remembered and deeply missed," concluded the statement, attributed to "Allman Brothers Band, Family and Crew."

Betts played with the band from 1969 through 2000, when he claimed to have been fired. However, in a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone , Johanson alleged he actually quit the group.

News of the musician's death came with a statement on his official Instagram page from his family alongside a throwback photo of Betts.

Clayton Call/Redferns

"It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Betts family announce the peaceful passing of Forrest Richard 'Dickey' Betts (December 12, 1943 - April 18, 2024) at the age of 80 years old," the caption began. "The legendary performer, songwriter, bandleader and family patriarch passed away earlier today at his home in Osprey, FL., surrounded by his family."

The family continued: "Dickey was larger than life, and his loss will be felt world-wide. At this difficult time, the family asks for prayers and respect for their privacy in the coming days. More information will be forthcoming at the appropriate time."

PEOPLE can confirm Betts' cause of death was cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, according to the late artist's manager David Spero.

Review: sibling pop band ajr put on a fun show in st. paul, but not a good concert.

After rising from New York City street buskers to national club and festival giggers over the past nine years, sibling pop band AJR came to Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday practically screaming, "And now we are arena rockers!"

The band of brothers — Adam, Jack and Ryan Met — brought a large and impressive stage production with them to St. Paul, one loaded with clever visual stunts and a sprawling, kaleidoscope-like array of lighting. They also brought out an excited, youthful audience of more than 12,000 fans, a surprisingly high turnout for a cultishly loved act whose name still might get first mistaken for a discount airline.

There was one key missing ingredient in AJR's big coming out as an arena-rock act, though: the rock.

Of course, nobody expected these three ultra-straitlaced dudes — who sing about playing with toys ("Don't Throw Out My Legos") and have a song in a Wendy's commercial ("The Good Part") — to come out and crank it like Rage Against the Machine.

But between all their cuddly and cutesy songs and all the attention to staging and visual trickery, the "concert" seemed less like a rock show and more like a Disney Broadway staging — or even like a slightly more grown-up version of Nickelodeon's "Yo Gabba Gabba!" tour, which many of the attendees might've seen as toddlers 14 years ago.

The cartoony showmanship was apparent right away in the opening song, "The Maybe Man." About 10 stage crew members appeared at different spots of the big stage dressed like lead singer Jack Met, so it wasn't clear who the real Jack was at first. It helped that all the would-be Jacks' faces were shrouded by an Elmer Fudd-style, floppy-eared winter hat of the style that even most Minnesotans consider too goofy to wear, but the real Jack proceeded to wear it all night.

There were many more optical illusions like that army of Jacks to come. The real Jack performed as if falling through the sky in "Touchy Feely Fool." Then another fake version of Jack appeared as a shadow on the video backdrop to compete in a drum-off with him during "Bang!" No kidding, the prerecorded drum parts clearly topped Jack's live drumming.

There were a lot more prerecorded tracks used, too. In what are otherwise pretty simple, jangly, Ed Sheeran-on-Red-Bull pop songs, AJR heavily employed background vocals and other electronic enhancement alongside other instruments such as violin and trumpet — a mix that sometimes sounded overcomplicated and not well mixed at all.

Amid all the flash and showmanship, though, the Met boys stayed humble and sounded all aw-shucks between songs as they talked about playing to a full arena on tour.

"I truly don't know how this happened, how we got here," Jack Met told the crowd. "It's because of you."

Adam Met recounted their previous Twin Cities gigs at venues including the Garage in Burnsville and the Armory in Minneapolis. He forgot to mention them playing to a smaller crowd at the COVID-clouded Basilica Block Party in 2021 , though.

One of the more straight-up emotional and touching moments of the show came when Ryan Met sang the three-part chronicle of a failed relationship, "Turning Out." That abruptly gave way to one of the goofiest parts of the 100-minute show, when Jack and the rest of the band appeared high up in the nosebleed seats with other band members to perform their viral hit "World's Smallest Violin" while seated between fans.

It seemed like every time AJR's performance started to gain a little unfettered concert mojo, the musical energy came to a halt for another gimmicky showman stunt.

The sharpest lull came when the brothers gave a loooong demonstration about how they produce music at home right after playing the night's most high-energy tune, the politely groovy rouser "Burn the House Down." How rocking was the rockiest song of the night? On a scale of 1 to 10, it was about a 311.

Compared with AJR's ultra-cheery vibe, opening act Dean Lewis came off like something of a party pooper.

The Australian pop strummer — a little more soulful and a lot more dramatic than AJR — played an inordinate number of heartache-y downers in his 10-song set. One was a genuine tearjerker that discernibly impacted the many early arrival fans, "How Do I Say Goodbye," written about his ailing father. "Half a Man" and a couple more edged on whiny, though, with his sometimes pitchy, crackly voice adding a wince factor.

Dean was quite a fun charmer between songs, though, and threw in covers of Taylor Swift's "Cruel Summer" and the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" to lighten the mood with big audience singalongs. He also mentioned he's going out on his own after the AJR tour — but he, too, forgot to mention the Basilica Block Party, which he's slated to hit Aug. 2 .

Chris Riemenschneider has been covering the Twin Cities music scene since 2001, long enough for Prince to shout him out during "Play That Funky Music (White Boy)." The St. Paul native authored the book "First Avenue: Minnesota's Mainroom" and previously worked as a music critic at the Austin American-Statesman in Texas.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, N.Y., on Thursday, April 18. It will be The Boss’ first concert in Central New York since 2012 and his first in Syracuse with his famous backing band since a 1985 performance at the Dome (then the Carrier Dome).

“First time I came to Syracuse was 1973 and you were looking at the only two members of the E Street Band that were there 51 frickin’ years ago,” Springsteen said in an Instagram video alongside original E Street Band bassist Garry W. Tallent on Monday. “50 years later and guess what? Me, this gentleman Garry W. Tallent, and the rest of the E Street Band have plans to destroy your city and rock you into the ground!”

Thursday’s concert, originally scheduled for September, was postponed after Springsteen was diagnosed with peptic ulcer disease . Tickets purchased for the original date will be honored for the new date.

Pete Sala, Syracuse University’s vice president and chief facilities officer, encouraged fans to follow three simple words: “Get here early.”

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Springsteen has no opening act.

Here’s everything you need to know before you go, including ticket information, where to park, and traffic tips:

Tickets purchased for the original Sept. 7, 2023, date will be honored for the rescheduled date of April 18, 2024.

A few thousand tickets are still available through Ticketmaster (prices start at $74.40), as well as VividSeats , StubHub , TicketNetwork or SeatGeek . Attendees are encouraged to download their ticket on their phone before arriving.

Sala said very few people had requested refunds when the show was postponed, so many ticketholders have been waiting about a year since the concert was first announced.

Guests with a General Admission Pit ticket should enter through Gate D. Fans looking to line up for front of the pit entry can also line up outside Gate D beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Bottles and cans are not permitted on the floor. All beverages (including water) must be emptied into a cup prior to accessing the floor seats and the GA pit.

SHOW START TIME / END TIME

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Springsteen is expected to take the stage promptly as there is no opening act.

There is no end time for the concert, but at Monday’s MVP Arena concert in Albany, Springsteen reportedly played for 2 hours and 45 minutes. If the Syracuse show starts at 7:30, expect the Boss to be rocking until about 10:15 or 10:30 p.m.

PARKING / TRAFFIC

Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early due to traffic. Syracuse city police will be shutting down Comstock Avenue to one-way traffic to help drivers get in and out as quickly as possible.

If you purchased advance sale parking, please display your parking pass on your rearview mirror so it is easily viewable for the parking attendants and to help with traffic flow. If you purchased a parking pass for the original concert date, that pass is still valid. West Lots by the stadium and Irving Garage will open at 3:30 p.m.

If you don’t have parking passes booked in advance, Sala strongly recommends parking at Skytop (1600 Jamesville Avenue) on SU’s South Campus, and then take the shuttle to the Dome. The Skytop Lot will open at 1 p.m.

Syracuse University also recommends using the Waze app for help with directions and navigating traffic to get to your parking lot. ( See a list of parking lot addresses .)

  • On event day, $35 parking will be available at the University Avenue Garage, UAG, (1101 E Adams St) and Comstock Avenue Garage, CAG, (501 Comstock Ave). Additional parking may be available at UNVN, UNVS, Harrison and Waverly. All lots will accept major credit cards, debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay, Android Pay and Google Pay). Cash will not be accepted.
  • $30 paid parking will be available at the Skytop (1600 Jamesville Avenue ) parking lots. Free shuttle transportation is provided between the College Place shuttle drop off and the Colvin, Comstock and Skytop parking lots. These lots will open at 1 p.m. with shuttle service beginning at 4 p.m.
  • Skytop: If you are using I-81 South to get to the SKY or SKYD lots, SU suggests you use Exit 17. At the bottom of the ramp turn LEFT and at the next light head up Brighton Ave., then left onto Ainsley Drive to your lot. If you’re taking I-81 North from south of Syracuse, get off at Exit 16A for I-481 North and then take the first exit for Rock Cut Road.

All lots will accept major credit cards, debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay, Android Pay and Google Pay). Cash will not be accepted.

CASH OR CREDIT?

Credit. All official SU parking lots are now cashless (though there may be some cash options near campus). Everything inside the Dome is also cashless, including the merchandise stands. Beverages, including alcohol, will be grab-and-go.

CLEAR BAG POLICY

The Dome’s Clear Bag Policy will be in effect. Therefore, one clear bag and one small clutch or purse is allowed. Fans will be asked to return non-approved bags to their vehicle prior to stadium entry. There will be no check-in location for prohibited bags at the Stadium. Please plan accordingly.

An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED

Metal detectors will be in use. The following items are not permitted:

  • Audio Recording Devices
  • Vinyl Album Covers
  • Pocket Knives
  • Weapons of any kind
  • FOOD & BEVERAGES (excluding items needed for health/special reasons)
  • ALCOHOL of any Kind
  • BACKPACKS or large purses
  • Containers/Coolers (including soft sided)
  • Baby Strollers
  • Animals (excluding service animals)
  • Laser Pointers
  • Noise Makers/Air Horns
  • Video Recorders (including Go Pros)
  • Cameras with a lens 6″ or greater
  • Large Chains
  • Spiked Bracelets
  • Wallet Chains
  • Waist Packs
  • Selfie Sticks

WIRELESS / WIFI

Sala said Verizon users will see fast 5G service after JMA Wireless installed a new distributed antenna system for cellular service. The same work is in progress for AT&T and T-Mobile, according to Sala, and will be in place by the time football season begins. For Springsteen, that means some cell phone users may see potentially slower speeds especially at peak moments, like when everyone tries to take a photo as soon as Springsteen comes out on stage and tries to send them to friends and family.
