Visit Camp Nou

The Stadium of FC Barcelona

Camp Nou Tour

If you want to feel like a player for a day, the Camp Nou tour gives you the chance to go behind the scenes and soak up all the action from a player’s perspective.

What to expect – Prices & Tickets – Tour Times

Camp Nou Tour

As well as giving you instant access to all the good stuff – we’re talking dressing rooms, the player tunnel, and the mighty pitch itself – the Barcelona stadium tour also gives you access to the FC museum, where you can learn all about the history of the club.

The tour itself is self-guided, so you can spend as long as you like browsing the player bios and walking in the footsteps of football superstars. As you make your way through, bright yellow barriers etch out the way for you so you don’t miss a single thing, and there are attendants on hand to help you out if you get lost.

Information is dotted around on boards along the route, but you can also pick up a guided tour for that extra oomph (see the tickets section for more information).

What to Expect

There is a lot to take in on the FC Barcelona tour, so expect to spend between 1 and 2 hours exploring the team’s past and present. Along the way, you’ll get to build up the backstory of the Barcelona team, and learn more about its players, successes, and what life is like at the stadium for the team.

Things to See on the Camp Nou Tour

Virtual experience.

At the start of the tour you’ll be party to a 10-minute 3D extravaganza that places you, the visitor, in the much-coveted position of player.

The experience is supposed to give a sense of what it’s like for players when they’re on the pitch, with replays of famous matches and accompanying sound tracks to provide the full flavour.

One of the stop-offs of note is the in-house chapel, which was opened in 1958 and blessed by Pope John Paul II in the early 80s. Since then, it has provided a safe space for players to send up last minute prayers before they hit the field.

FC Barcelona Museum

Perhaps the most interesting element of the tour is the museum, which is home to wall-to-wall trophy cabinets, player bios, and historic photos of team successes. Here, you can delve into the narrative of FC Barcelona through a collection of fun, interactive displays and eye-catching wall displays.

Messi Space

Yes, there’s an entire space dedicated to the Argentinean superstar. You can marvel (or look on in puzzlement) at Leo Messi’s 5 Ballons d’Or and his 3 Golden Boots while watching a montage of his best goals that play out on the walls.

Not Just Football

Despite its undeniably football-focused ambiance, the stadium is also home to a collection of trophies from other Barcelona sports teams – a fun way to get an overview for the city’s entire sporting scene.

The Pressroom

Many a confession has been made and many a question been diverted in the stadium pressroom. This is where much of the post-match activity takes place, with players justifying their failures and bigging up their successes. You can sit in the same seats as the world’s best-loved players, or check things out from the press’ perspective.

Visitors’ Dressing Room

Unfortunately, you can’t wander into the FC Barcelona dressing room, because it’s constantly in use by the players who leave their stuff there on the regular. This is a shame, really, as apparently it’s decked out with a spa, treatment room, and pharmacy. Instead, you’ll have to make do with checking out the visitors’ dressing room, which has seen hundreds of global teams pass through its doors.

The Players’ Tunnel

This is where things really start to get good. If you shut your eyes (or keep them open and use your imagination), you can almost pretend you’re about to emerge on the pitch to play with one of the world’s most beloved teams.

The Mighty Playing Field

The tunnel inevitably leads to the field, which is pretty impressive up close. Here, you can look out over the 105m by 68m pitch and gaze up at the 48m high stands (squint hard enough and you can almost see the 100,000 passionate fans cheering and jeering). This is where the Benches are (or the “Dug Out” area), where you can sit in the same seats as the managers.

Commentary Boxes

Get your commentary on in these raised boxes that have seen hundreds of TV and radio stars work their fast-lipped magic.

While you’re wandering around, don’t forget to look out for Miro’s lithograph, which was made especially for the Barcelona football team, and the 5-star plaque that was awarded to the stadium in 1999.

Tickets and Prices

Ready to buy your Camp Nou Tour tickets? Here is all the price information you need to know.

The easiest way to buy tickets is online, because you can beat the queues at the stadium. Once you’ve booked, you’ll need to print out your confirmation and hand it in at the entrance of the stadium. You’ll need photographic ID to prove that you’re the person who bought the tickets. You don’t need to reserve a time or day when booking.

Camp Nou Opening Times

The stadium is open throughout the year apart from the 1st January and the 25th December.

You can take a tour between 10am and 6.30pm, with last admittance at 5.45pm.

On match days, only the museum is open to the public, including the trophy room and Messi Space, but you can also get a panoramic view of the pitch up to 3 hours before kick-off.

Note: It’s worth checking online to see if you’ll be able to access all areas before you make the journey to the stadium, as there are often unexpected changes to the schedule in training season and for miscellaneous events.

Audioguides

You can also pick up an audioguide at the start of the tour, which will offer additional information to the wall panels as you go around. Audioguides are available in a range of languages, and are self-paced so you can go with the flow.

Audioguide price: €5

Note: You’ll be asked for ID as a deposit when you pick up an audioguide, so it’s worth taking a driving license or a bank card so you don’t have to part with your passport.

Luxury Guide Service

If you really want to push the boat out, you can hire an experienced guide to take you around the stadium and offer you real-life anecdotes. Guides can deliver tours in a range of different languages and require a reservation and pre-payment. Guide price: €170 (not including the cost of entry tickets)

Alternatively, you can buy tickets at the stadium from the automatic ticket machines or from the on-site ticket offices. These are often subject to queues, so be prepared to wait around.

How do you get to the camp nou stadium by metro.

The stadium can easily be reached by metro . The closest metro stop for visiting the stadium tour is metro stop 'Palau Reial' of the green metro line 3. From this stop, you only have to walk to the end of the 'Carrer de Marti i Franques' street. After 500 metres, you'll reach the entrance for the Camp Nou Experience.

An alternative stop is metro stop 'Collblanc', of metro line 5. Turn into the street 'Travessera de les Corts' and follow it for about 300 metres. However, you will still need to get to the other side of the football stadium. Go left and follow the stadium premises. This stop is a better choice if you're visiting a match of FC Barcelona, as the gates at the side will be open then.

Once you’ve checked out the fixture list you can get down to the business of planning your FC Barcelona football trip. Please note that whilst the Nou Camp is being refurburbished, home games will be played at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

Table of Contents

Tickets for games against Real Madrid are an altogether different matter. In this article we’ll provide you with practical advice on travel to Barcelona, stadium tours and how to get FC Barcelona tickets.

Getting There: The best arrival point for football fans visiting the city is Barcelona’s El Prat International Airport which lies just 12km south-west of the city. Transport into the city by means of the Aerobús service is cheap, secure and efficient. Some fans may prefer to fly into Girona airport which is about 90km to the north and is well served by a number of budget airlines. the frequent Barcelonabus service transport new arrivals directly to Barcelona. Check out our Barcelona Travel Guide for a comprehenive guide to the city.

Where to Stay: If you’re visiting Barcelona as part of a general city break then there’s no point booking a hotel near the Nou Camp, you’d be far better off staying somewhere nearer to the Ramblas and the tourist centre. However, if you’re only in town for a match then there are a few very nice hotels near the stadium. The 5-star Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel (Plaza Pio XII) is the stand out property lying less than a ten minute walk from the ground. A number of more economical options are also in the vicinity.

Nou Camp Stadium

The history of FC Barcelona dates back to 1899 when it was founded by a Swiss businessman called Joan Gamper. In the early days the club began by playing their matches on a number of makeshift pitches around the city. In 1909 the club found a permanent home at the 6,000 seater Camp de la Indústria. Fans approaching the stadium on match-day would see a row of bottoms sat along the outer wall which gave FC Barcelona the nickname of ‘Culés’ (someone who displays their bottom). This nickname exists to this day.

By 1922 FC Barcelona had won the Spanish Cup five times and had over 20,000 members who helped raise the funds for a new stadium at Camp de Les Corts. The initial capacity of Les Corts was 30,000 which was expanded to 60,000 but by the late 1940s it was clear that this wasn’t sufficient to satisfy the demand for football in the Catalan capital.

All FC Barcelona Stadiums Velódromo De La Bonanova (1899-1900) Campo Del Hotel Casanovas (1900-1901) Campo De La Carretera De Horta (1901-1905) Campo De La Calle Muntaner (1905-1909) Campo De La Calle Industria (1909-1922) Campo De Les Corts (1922-1957) Camp Nou (1957-Present)

With no way of expanding this ground the club president, Francesc Miró-Sans, began preparing plans for a move away from Les Corts to a new stadium for the club. His vision became a reality in 1957 when Barcelona played their first match at the Nou Camp with an initial capacity of over 106,000.

Major redevelopment of the Camp Nou took place in preparation for the 1982 World Cup where almost 122,000 fans watched Belgium beat the holders Argentina in the opening game. This enormous capacity was significantly reduced in the late 1990s to around 98,000 as UEFA banned standing areas at football arenas. Today Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium is the largest in Europe with an official capacity of 99,354.

Another major redevelopment known as ‘Espai Barça’ has been approved which will see the stadium’s capacity increase to 105,000. However, the project has been delayed by political issues and the Covid-19 pandemic so is unlikely to be completed before 2025 at the earliest.

FC Barcelona Stadium Tours and Museum

The FC Barcelona museum was opened in 1994 thanks to the foresight of ex-President Josep Lluis Nuñez who was in charge of the club when they won their first European Cup in 1992. Today a visit to the museum is combined with a stadium tour in what is called the Camp Nou Experience . It is one of Catalonia’s most popular tourist attraction with almost two million annual visitors.

After browsing the museum’s fascinating exhibits and viewing its excellent multimedia presentations visitors can also take guided or self-guided tours of the Nou Camp’s facilities. This allows you to visit the changing rooms, the player’s tunnel and the side of the pitch. You also get access to the substitute’s bench, the altar, TV studio, press rooms, directors area and get a panoramic view of the stadium.

Getting There: Many visitors to Barcelona buy a day ticket for the northern route of the hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus. This service has a bus stop at the Nou Camp Stadium which is just 200m from the club’s museum. Details of how to get to the Nou Camp by metro, public bus or taxi appear below.

Entrance Tickets: You can purchase tickets for the Nou Camp Experience on the day of your visit at the ticket booths outside the museum. Alternatively, you can avoid any queues by ordering tickets online and downloading them to your mobile phone.

Getting to the Nou Camp

FC Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium lies about 5km west of Plaça de Catalunya which is at the top of the Ramblas in the tourist centre of the city. The excellent Metro service is the best way of getting there on match day although bus and taxi services are also available:

Getting to the Nou Camp by Metro

If you’re staying near the Ramblas you can get on the green Metro line 3 at Plaça de Catalunya or at Liceu (right outside the Opera House and on the same side of the Ramblas) heading in the direction of Zona Universitaria. Get off at Maria Cristina Leaving the underground by the exit marked “Sortida: Av. Diagonal”. As you come out of this exit you will see two huge black towers owned by La Caixa on the other side of the road. Keep them to your left and walk about 200m along Avinguda Diagonal where you’ll see a road sign for FC Barcelona and Joan XXIII.

On the other side of the road you’ll see the Hotel Princesa Sofia. Cross the main road (the Avinguda Diagonal) here and take a left after the hotel heading down Joan XIII. You will see the stadium about 200m ahead of you. Some fans prefer to get off at Les Corts which is slightly closer, just follow the crowd.

An alternative route by Metro is to take the blue line 5 heading for Cornella Centre then get off at Collblanc and follow signs for the stadium.

After the match with thousands of people looking for transport the metro is by far the best way to get back to the Ramblas area if that’s where you’re staying. You can get a beer at a bar on the way to the station to let the crowds die down a little as the Metro operates until 2am.

Getting to the Nou Camp by Bus

The following bus lines serve the Nou Camp Stadium: 7, 15, 43, 67, 68, 74, 75, L12, L50, L60 and L62, however, with all the traffic on match days it’s a much better idea to use the very fast and efficient Metro system.

Getting to the Nou Camp by Taxi

A taxi to the stadium from around the Ramblas area shouldn’t cost more than €15, however, the traffic can be so bad that the meter creeps up even further. After the game there are no taxis available for a long time after the final whistle and all the streets near the Nou Camp are packed with traffic making the Metro the best public transport option.

FC Barcelona Fixtures 2023-24

Date and time of fc barcelona matches.

When making your travel plans please bear in mind that weekend games take place on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday whilst midweek fixtures can take place on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. As a rule FC Barcelona are very rarely involved in Monday or Thursday games and it’s fair to say that the vast majority of visitors have no problems provided they are in the Catalan capital between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. Champions League fixtures always take place on a Tuesday or Wednesday, usually with an 8.45pm local kick-off time.

Unfortunately, the matchday and kick-off time for Spanish league matches isn’t confirmed until around two weeks before the game. The first place to post match details is on the official La Liga website .

How to Get FC Barcelona Tickets

Intelligent ticket sales and ‘seient lliure’.

In spite of the Nou Camp’s enormous capacity, FC Barcelona has approximately 103,000 ‘socios’ (season ticket holders) which means that the ground cannot accommodate all its members. Even though you might see empty seats when watching a match on television this doesn’t mean that tickets are available. It simply means that some of the club’s members did not attend.

Fortunately for fans planning a FC Barcelona football trip the club operates a system known as ‘seient lliure’ which allows members to free up their seat when they can’t attend. These seats become available to the general public and are sold through the ticket offices at the stadium and on the club’s official website.

Members who release their seat more than 72 hours before kick-off time are guaranteed payment from the club even if their seat isn’t sold. If the seat is only released within the 72 hours before kick-off the member only receives payment if the seat is re-sold. The main downside of this system is that many of these seats are only released to the public in the 72 hours before the game and few are available in pairs. As such it has proven very difficult to plan FC Barcelona football breaks through official ticketing channels.

The new, data-driven, intelligent ticketing now in operation at the Nou Camp enables the club to predict when members will release their seats through the ‘seient lliure’ system. This allows the club to sell tickets to the public before they have actually been released by members and makes them available to overseas fans in advance. So far this system has increased attendances by 15%.

Please note that the system works well for standard league games but no tickets will become available through ‘seient lliure’ for the biggest matches such as El Clásico against Real Madrid.

Where to Order FC Barcelona Tickets

FC Barcelona Website: If you’re planning a football weekend in Barcelona you should book your FC Barcelona tickets online at the official club website. You can print out your tickets before travelling.

FC Barcelona Ticket Office: Some tickets may be available in the days before a match at the Nou Camp ticket office located at Access 15 of the stadium. It may be worth phoning the office on (+34) 902 1899 00 to check availability.

Online Ticket Brokers: There are a number of websites which refer to themselves as a secondary marketplace for tickets. They usually have genuine tickets available but at heavily inflated prices.

Ticket Touts: Outside the Nou Camp on matchday you’ll find ticket touts hanging around the ticket windows. One of their favourite tricks is to show you a postcard of the stadium and point out where the seats are located that they’re trying to sell to you. It goes without saying that their information is not to be trusted.

This notice regulates the operation of the purchase of tickets put on sale by FC BARCELONA to access sporting events held in the facilities owned by this entity, whether organised by the Club itself, or by third-party organisations.    These General Conditions of Use have been modified on 18/01/2024 Likewise, FC BARCELONA reserves the right to review and modify these legal conditions at any time, so they should visit the website periodically to check for updates to these purchase conditions and to be aware of any updates and/or limitations that may occur and are beyond the control of FC BARCELONA that may apply to the same tickets acquired. The BUYER pays the price published on the website at the time of completing their purchase, but the price of similar tickets may increase or decrease (for future purchases by third parties) once the BUYER has made his purchase. The BUYER shall not be entitled to a refund of the price difference if the price of similar tickets subsequently decreases after the time of purchase. Therefore, the validity of the ticket/s and the price of them will be those that appear on the website/app at the time of purchase. The price printed on the ticket/s usually correspond to its nominal value and not to the purchase price. The BUYER shall not be entitled to a refund for having paid a price above the nominal value.    B) The date and time of the match for which the tickets are purchased and the price will those that appear on the website or in the app at the time of purchase. Taking into consideration that the date and time of the match can be modified by the organiser of the competition unilaterally, the BUYER declares that it is aware of and agrees to be solely responsible for verifying the final date and time of the match prior to its celebration. This verification may be carried out through the FC BARCELONA website and of the APP.    C) FC BARCELONA is subject to the restrictive security regulations applicable in the organisation and access to sporting meetings, and that is why it is expressly stated that all the tickets that are available to the BUYER on the website and in the FC BARCELONA APP are exclusively intended for the purchase of them by fans of FC BARCELONA; this is expressly stated on the website and in the APP throughout the purchase process. Therefore, the acquisition of said tickets on behalf of fans of rival teams may be flagged as a fraudulent purchase.

As an exception, FC BARCELONA may block the purchase of tickets in certain countries, in particular when they are made to the countries of the teams that are FC BARCELONA rivals for that specific sporting event for which the tickets are put up for sale. This prohibition is carried out in compliance with the provisions of Regulation 2018/302 of the European Parliament, since FC BARCELONA must guarantee the correct separation of fans in order to comply with Law 19/2007, of 11 July against violence, racism, xenophobia and sports intolerance, and its development regulation, essential standards for the development of sporting events in Spain, therefore and in compliance with the provisions of the European Regulation, FC BARCELONA will block any transfer of tickets carried out in this way as said block is necessary to ensure compliance with the aforementioned regulations.

The number of tickets and the price will be chosen by the BUYER during the purchase process and cannot be modified once formalised.    D) The purchase of tickets through the FC BARCELONA official website has two different ticket delivery services available to the buyer:

To proceed with the collection, the BUYER must present the following documents:    - The PURCHASE REFERENCE number.  - The credit/debit card with which they made the purchase.  - The DNI/passport of the holder of said credit/debit card.    In the case of collection by a third party other than the BUYER, they must present the PURCHASE REFERENCE, the original BUYER's ID and an original authorisation signed by the BUYER for the collection of the ticket(s) by that third party, in addition to providing a photocopy of the DNI or official document accrediting the BUYER and the person who makes the collection.    E) No changes or ticket refunds will be accepted, except in the case of the cancellation or suspension of the event (see section 3. F). The BUYER (even as a consumer of the European Union, Norway, Lichtenstein or Iceland) may not exercise the right of withdrawal or resolution provided, both in Directive 2011/83 of the European Union, like in article 103 of Law 3/2014, of March 27, which modifies the revised text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users and other complementary laws, approved by Legislative Royal Decree 1/2007, of November 16, since the exercise thereof is excluded in these cases.  The BUYER must ensure, before completing the purchase process or the ticket(s), the accuracy and adequacy of the entered data. The impossibility of the BUYER to attend the event and/or error when making the purchase will not be deemed valid reasons to request a refund of the price of the tickets. In accordance with the regulations in force regarding consumer affairs and the management of the retail trade, the BUYER may not exercise the right of withdrawal or resolution since the provision of services related to leisure activities is exempt from such right.    F) Once the ticket(s) have been purchased, the amount will only be exchanged or returned in the event of cancellation of the event prior to the start of the match, in which case the BUYER may request a refundand FC BARCELONA undertakes to carry it out as soon as possible and within a maximum period of 15 days, in the form specified by the Club, and presenting, in all cases, proof of purchase. Once the match has started, if it is suspended due to force majeure, the amount will not be refunded. In the case of any refund, the Club will only reimburse the price of the ticket, not being responsible for any other expense or cost, such as, by way of example and merely enunciative, hotels, trips, meals, per diems, etc.    G) FC BARCELONA reserves the right to alter or modify the schedules, programmes or teams announced for the corresponding match, as well as declare the suspension of the event.    H) FC BARCELONA offers different types of discounts and promotions for the purchase of tickets throughout the season through its website, APP, social network profile and/or any other official communication channel of the Club. FC Barcelona 4-2 Valencia: Hat-trick seals comeback win

FC Barcelona 4-2 Valencia: Hat-trick seals comeback win

FC Barcelona beat Valencia 4-2 in a rare Monday evening fixture, although the win took a lot more work than the final result might suggest.

Despite scoring first, Barça found themselves trailing at the break in a total roller-coaster of a match.

Fortunes took a turn for the better when the visitors had their goalkeeper sent off just before the break, but Barça needed to make the very best of the situation in the second half. And they certainly did - and one man in particular. Robert Lewandowski is taking home the match ball home after his brilliant hat-trick sent the team back up to second place in the Liga table.

Solid start

Torrential rain had been pouring down on the Catalan capital all day, but a very decent crowd braved the inclement weather, and fears concerning the possible state of the Montjuic pitch were utterly unfounded as the game was played a near-perfect surface.

And Barça got-off to a near-perfect start, capitalising on their early dominance the opening goal on 22 minutes. Raphinha whipped in a lovely cross and Fermin Lopez rose to glance the ball goalward with his head.

Double setback

It might have looked like Barça were in for a comfortable ride, but Valencia, who could already have scored when Peter Federico was clean through on goal, managed to turn the tables before an extremely eventful first half was up.

The first goal came off a blundered clearance by Ter Stegen that ended with Hugo Duro through on an empty goal. Not the way the German had hoped to celebrate becoming the foreigner with the most appearances for Barça.

The visitors’ second came from the penalty spot, Ronald Araujo bringing Peter down in the area and Pepula converting the kick.

Valencia down to ten

Things had turned complicated, but Barça were then delivered the bonus of playing the whole of the second half with an extra man.

Valencia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili bodged a clearance of his own and in a desperate attempt to prevent Raphinha from exploiting the error he ended up handling the ball outside of his box. VAR advised the referee to take a closer look and, yes, it was a red card.

Lewandowski makes it two...

It didn’t take long for the Catalans to cash in on their numerical advantage. Four minutes into the second half, Lewandowski nodded in and that was 2-2.

We had an enthralling battle on our hands. Understandably most of it was one-way traffic, but replacement keeper Jaume Domènech was certainly proving his worth in the Valencia goal.

Not only were the nine men in front of him standing their ground, but they would have regained the lead had substitute Pedri not saved the day with a fantastic last-ditch tackle.

It was still only 2-2, yet the atmosphere in the stadium felt like Barça were winning. It was as if the home fans knew more goals was coming. And they were right.

Another corner. Lewandowski’s head once again. And Barça were back in the lead.

...three and four

It was game over by this stage. Valencia were worn to the ground by their exertions. But Lewandowski wanted more.

Deep into injury time and a simply stunning free kick rattled into the back of the net. That was his hat-trick. And his 16th goal of the season. Unsurprisingly, the MVP award went the way of the Pole, and the way things are looking, there could be another Pichichi trophy sitting on his masterpiece very soon too.

Those three goals have moved Lewandowski to within just one of leaders Bellingham (Real Madrid) and Sorloth (Villarreal).

And they have also sent the team back up to second in the league, a position they’ll be defending in five days time at the home of their most direct rival in that battle. Girona v Barça kicks off at Montilivi at 8.30pm CEST . Watch this space!
