Amenities: swimming pool is open until 9pm; bar near the pool is likewise open; entitled to free bottles of water in the room; you may also request for a bucket of ice; easy to get a wrist band to enjoy the amenities of the resort & towel; no long queue; very organized; Entertainment: lobby lounge provided Bossa Nova/standard music from live band; fire show by the poolside at 6pm was awesome; water sports quite expensive; we contacted a smaller resort to arrange our island hopping - which cost us P1,400/pax inclusive of snorkeling gear, food (pork & shrimp bbque, grilled fresh local fish, rice, fruits, soda, water), tour guides, boat, floating vest/jacket. Facilities: very new 5-star hotel; clean & spacious; booking the deluxe ocean room was truly worth it; you can just lie on the bed & look at the clear blue waters of the pool & the ocean; we booked rooms 709 & 710. on the 2nd night, i was able to watch the fire dance from my room's balcony. THe hotel provides free shuttle service in the a.m. & afternoon to & from Cebu City (SM & Ayala Malls). On our last day, we went by shuttle to SM & bought our pasalubongs (dried fish & squid). Near SM is CNT resto where you can get Cebu lechon. They can pack your lechon orders in a small box, ready for transport by plane. But be ready for a queue for this much-touted Cebu lechon. Taxi driver also recommended Rico's lechon Cebu.

I have always look forward to stay in Shangrila Mactan as it is one of the most beautiful hotel because of two reasons 1) The marine park is one of the best that i have visited and you need not go far to see coral fishes - parrot fish, pike fish, clown fish, mullet, angel fish, squid and schools of fish as though you are diving. 2) The Filipino service level again never fails - prompt efficient service request - no nonsense or reasons to be given...they just aim to please. Anything that they cannot provide is done with a sympathetic 'I wish I could do it' the only set back is you need to pay for the extras which makes it one of the very pricey hotels in Cebu. But the worse is not Shangrila Mactacn but AGODA THAT CANCELED MY ROOM AND WHEN I REQUESTED TO REINSTATE THE ROOM I HAD TO DO 3 REMINDERS AND THERE WAS JUST A CURT REPLY - WE HAVE DONE IT AFTER I LEFT THE HOTEL THE NEXT DAY. THE SERVICE LEVEL BY AGODA IS ATROCIOUS AND I AM THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMER RANKING WITH 75000 POINTS TO BE KNOWN AS THEIR 'PREMIER CUSTOMER' - BUT I DONT FEEL LIKE ONE!!! AGODA FAILED - NO APOLOGY AT ALL FROM THEM!

We chose Crimson Resort and Spa over other hotels in Cebu due to a deal on Agoda that gave us a 50% discount on a Deluxe Garden room. Upon arriving, we were delighted with the lovely room and the generously sized infinity pool, not to mention the excellent breakfast and lunch buffets. We were disappointed, however, to discover that the resort was hosting a private function on the beach during the same weekend, which made for a disturbing amount of noise and left the hotel guests no place to enjoy the sun apart from around the pool area, making it considerably more crowded. Luckily, we contacted Lilibeth, the Guest Relations Manager, to find out what the resort could do to make our stay more pleasant, and their response was above and beyond our expectations. They immediately upgraded us to a larger villa situated farther away from the event and the noise, and also sent over a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit platter to apologise for the inconvenience. They even decorated our stunning four-poster bed with petals and a swan/heart ornament crafted out of towels, which made for a fun photo opportunity. Ricky from Guest Relations also followed up with a phone call the next day to see if there was anything else the resort could do to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. My partner and I ended up having a wonderful weekend and we will definitely consider Crimson again for our next Cebu trip. We highly recommend the resort for its exemplary customer service, which extends from Lilibeth, the manager, all the way to the helpful attendant at the gym, to the friendly pool staff, to the smiling therapists at the spa.

Prices on the high side for Cebu, £6 for a mango smoothie but it was delicious. As in other parts of Cebu, service very polite and pleasant but also very slow, 35 minutes for a drink and salad at lunch and although I was offered coffee at breakfast it never came leaving me to locate the machine myself and eventually work out how to get a coffee out of it - nice coffee though. We dined by the pool in the evening as the restaurant was cold and canteen atmosphere. My chicken was good ( huge portions, where's a starving dog when you want one) and my husband had the steak burger which he enjoyed. In the night he became very unwell with diarrhoea and sadly was unable to accompany me to our prepaid breakfast which was great, my best in the Phillipines. music was maddening though, fake jazz on an eternal loop!

It is fully carpeted and the bed is huge and very comfortable. But the best asset of the hotel is the entertainment readily available to the hotel guests. To top it all, the hotel houses one of the best casinos in the country. The hotel also has a duty free shop where guests can buy items for less than in ordinary stores. Another good asset of the hotel is the buffet breakfast they offer where a guest could choose from among a wide variety of food and beverages. All in all, I highly recommend staying at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

i originally planned on staying at the quest hotel for a week, but ended up staying a month. value for money when i was here in may-june 2012 the value for money was incredible. i paid around us per night without breakfast. by comparison, the cebu marriott, was running around us per night – a little over twice the price, and i imagine no better quality. i looked at half a dozen hotels in cebu before settling on quest. other hotels in cebu running in the $50 - $60 range don’t even come close in terms of quality. and my high expectations were met after i moved in. location the location is great, right across the street from the ayala mall, which is the most upscale mall in cebu. ayala a good place to hang out with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops with fast internet connections. (unfortunately, like most hotels the internet connection at quest is a slower than i would like for my work.) quality the hotel is brand new. when i first arrived they were still finishing outfitting the upper floors. it is impeccably clean and everything is brand new. the rooms are well designed, and the hotel has a clean, spacious feel to it. despite being near a busy road, i heard almost no noise from outside and always slept soundly. food the philippines are not renowned for the food. i haven’t had a meal here that impressed me. having said that, the food in the hotel is the best i have had in the philippines. it’s the same standard as you’d expect of hotel food in a us hotel that knows how to do food well. not just a generic menu designed to serve the lowest common denominator, but actually a good menu with really good food. (they do have all the regulars like steak and burgers, but they do it well.) friendly staff the staff have been consistently friendly and helpful. i feel welcomed every time i enter the hotel at whatever time of day or night.

Bayfront Hotel Cebu - North Reclamation

If you want to be free from the hustle and bustle of Manila, this is the best place for relaxation. You just have to be wise enough to buy food or dine outside cos the food inside the hotel is too pricey compare to the other (3 star) hotels in Cebu. Best for solo traveller/couples or family with kids..

Beach was very nice, big enough. Pool seems a bit small though but we stayed on beach area most of the time. Food of course a bit over-priced but not too bad. Breakfast was quite good with a range of different selections.

In the past I stayed at the Marriott at Ayala Mall but if I knew then what I know now I would have stayed at the Bai Hotel. The service by the staff was amazing, room and housekeeping the best and food, off the charts. The best breakfast buffet ever and I'm serious, the Cafe is the best. If you want an experience like never before visit the Twighlight Rooftop Lounge. Keep up the great work Bai Hotel, I will be back again and again when I return to Cebu. The Bai Hotel is Best in Class !!

Hotel offered free shuttle pick-up from the airport which was why we had chosen to stay. There is a convenience store right next door which was helpful for those travelers who come in and want to take a rest right away and not have to go out again. Restaurant had nice Filipino dishes at competitive prices for an eat-in dinner after a long day. Pool could be a bit more well-kept, and too bad the slide seemed not maintained and was closed. Not recommended if you are looking for a luxury vacation stay filled with amenities that kids can enjoy -- but definitely worth the price as a transit hotel^^. The welcome drink and free breakfast buffet were all nice additional touches!

I have stayed at Cebu Parklane several times now. I have also stayed in The Waterfront Lahug and other Cebu hotels such as Century Park Plaza. However, the Parklane remains my favourite as it gets the balance right between value for money and comfort. The hotel is friendly. The restaurant is very good. The included buffet breakfast is excellent with wide variety of foods from sushi to omelettes There is something here for all nationalities. Cold cuts for Europeans, traditional Japanese, Filipino and western breakfasts are all catered for. The rooms are spacious and clean. there have been some room renovations and this has served to update the decor and comfort. Ayala Mall is across 2 roads, within walking distance and there is a multitude of shops, restaurants and night spots within. This hotel is in the City so its not a resort or a place where you can lounge by the beach But its located in the newer part of the CBD and, there is much night life nearby. Its also a good location if you are doing business in Cebu.

This resort is not what an American traveler will expect upon arrival, the greeting staff do not confirm and lead you to your room right away, you are detained while official staff negotiate your reservation (!) before you can go to your room and relax after a very long flight to Cebu from the U.S. This aspect of the trip was very disappointing to us when we arrived. It happens because the business of the resort is different than most resorts Americans and Western travelers are used to. Instead of being owned by a single corporation such as Marriott or another well-known travel market business, the ownership of this resort is by many businessmen who may own one or many of the units in the building and each unit is unique according to the wishes of the owner. These facts determine the fate of your conveniences while staying in the room allotted to you. We were lucky that ours had what we needed, except we would have to pay a further expense to "rent" the washer/dryer present.

There are other hotels in Cebu in the same price range, but this is the best value for your money. They have been remodeling the hotel bit by bit, and the improvements are outstanding. The hotel is located in Banilad - Apas area, across the boulevard from UC Cebu behind a small mall. The mall is very convenient within walking distance. The staff here at the Montebello are outstanding and sometimes they accept interns from the HRM program at UC. The hotel has beautiful gardens, a number of pools a beauriful terrace ans resturant poolside. I can only give them 5 stars, I wish there were 6 available. JoeKanoguy

The only niggle was the very slow wi-fi....but hey ho, this is the Philippines which probably has the worst wifi in the world.... maybe the hotel could consider an iinvestment in LAN ?

I was expecting to have to deal with the hustle and bustle of a big city... and I did! But it was so great to come back to the Eloisa to really relax. There are 3 buildings that house rooms. Building #1 is located on the main street but the other 2 buildings are about 150 meters from the main street at the end of a nice pathway that is easily walked but they trolley you by golf cart if you wish. Anyway... I was located in building 3 at the end of that pathway and it was simply great because it became a nice oasis of calm in the middle of a busy city. I simply could kick back and relax. Everything was top notch ... pool, buffet... Everything!!!! BUT the most impressive was the staff ! Kind , professional and mostly .... very efficient... simply ask and you won't wait! More expensive hotels won't give you a better service!!! I will come back!

Yes there are many other good hotels, but not for the price. CLOSE to EVERYTHING! Connected to mall which has groceries and great prices on top floor! Located on the main square / round about so you have many activities there that are very safe to walk to even at night. I would suggest paying the little extra for the deluxe room to get the best view. The hotel is also connected to Cebu Pacific Air office which is excellent convenience...also walking distance to perhaps the best hospital in Cebu as well as at least 2 pharmacies. The restaurant was sufficient and you have plenty of options at the connected mall if you prefer.

Regarding the Five Star Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu on a scale of 1 to 5 we rated it at 10! We just had our 12th beautiful experience at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu, Philippines. The staff once again are considerate beyond belief, friendly and helpful making our experience very enjoyable. The food is great, the room service from Aaron and housekeeping from Jenny. Outstanding general attention and kindness from all levels of management and staff including a very warm and extremely hospitable Dazzle, Richard , Sabrina still a trainee but beaming with a promise. and too many persons to be able to cite by name but all of them outstanding and much appreciated. The hotel operators like Farah and Adel are both very helpful and accommodating. Another, impressive memory was during our latest visit when Rose, the business executive manager when learning that I was temporarily ill send her assistant to bring me Gatorade. The staff at the swimming pool have always been extraordinary in their attention to our needs and comfort which we appreciate. We are deeply indebted for the fine service at the pool from Charisma who is always been very kind and thoughtful in making us feel at home and comfortable. The food is excellent with new creations and innovation with their NEW OUTDOOR RESTAURANT you can really dine with the StARS and have Romantic evening with candlelight to make guests love the outdoor meals served including superior and premium steaks that my wife and I dearly loved, that WE DINE 2 nights in a ROW ! Lastly, Sous chef ,Joeffrey and executive chef Roberto Kunitz are wonderful in terms of their service to customers and are much appreciated by this customer and family. A hallmark of this beautiful restaurant is there breakfast Buffet which is the most elegant and varied breakfast buffets I’ve ever tried in my worldwide travels. The food is not only delicious but is served by the staff with loving care and attention to the guests is”exceptionnel”

For 20 years I have stayed 50+ nights a year in hotels in various parts of the world; mostly Europe and North and South America. I had used 4 or 5 star beach resorts on Mactan Island on 3 prior visits to Cebu. They were good hotels but had no soul. The staff were robotic - by rote answers to questions and, if something unusual was asked, the human equivalent of a computer page being unavailable. So I asked myself what I was looking for from a Cebu hotel. The answer was comfort, safety, a decent swimming pool and good transport links. The Waterfront Airport is what it says it is; a 3 star airport hotel where most customers will stay overnight after arriving or prior to departure from Mactan-Cebu Airport. However it is much more than that. I stayed in a Deluxe suite. This was actually three good sized rooms: a bedroom with double bed, TV and plenty of storage; a bathroom which had a bath with a flexible shower fitting and a separate shower room with a fixed shower; and, a lounge with TV, two seater sofa and 2 chairs, table, TV, mini-bar, two large windows giving views of the city and interior on one side and of the airport on the other, and more storage. Each room had a phone and air conditioning operating down to 18C. It made a quiet background hum causing no disturbance. Rooms are sound-proofed but planes can be seen and just about heard in the lobby area. The swimming pool is 28x12 yards and 3-4 feet deep throughout with a small area which is very shallow and suitable for young children. Complimentary towels are provided and there is a good quality gym adjacent to it. At weekend from 7-11pm a pianist and singer perform in the lobby lounge. Marina Mall is an 8 Peso jeepney ride or ten minute walk away. The hotel, although 3 star, provided terrific value for money, has staff who go out of their way to be helpful and I would recommend it to anyone looking for quality at a competitive price and a good base from which to explore Cebu, city and island.

No dresser or shelves....closet is ok with typical 4 hangers....(Philippine tradition?). Refrigerator was welcome sight even if missing a leg to keep stable. This would be very ok room for a single, but a bit cramped for a double. The bathroom is western style and I love that the hot water in the shower was consistant, although not much force. The breakfast was very good. Buffet style made it easier than most hotels I have stayed at in Cebu. Hotel is close to most shopping you will need (7/11 attached) and a three block walk to the SM Mall....but wear a mask and be careful crossing the streets. There is a laundry (expensive) and a gym (small but adequate) there, but they are both separate businesses.....you can pay for the gym on a daily basis...about 2.00 USD.

No toilet paper or towel provided. Also no information on arrival. Not sure whether WiFi available there. Bathroom was not very clean. Had an issue in the morning and staff wasn’t really helpful. Other guest was trying to help me. Good for one night stop over in Cebu. Property just few minutes by taxi from the port.

During the time there, the staff also gave me best suggestions of movements, price in everywhere i was, from long distance! ♥️♥️♥️ in my opinion, you should consider this place as the middle place for other trips in cebu! So you less carry big luggage 🧳 while traveling in between the places, especially stepping up and down at the ferry ⛴! I only slept 3 nights for 7-day staying at the place🥰🥰🥰 but at least i had place for my things. The place is clean, close enough for airport (traffic can happen in cebu), for ferry ⛴ distance due to my itinerary! STRONGLY RECOMMENDING 😤😤😤

Naps & Maps Hostel

This hostel is ideal for travelers or people that want to spend a few days in Cebu. The place has facilities, it is extremely clean and the staff is sublime. Interior design is also very nice and unique. Hope to visit again that place in one of my next trips.

Montenova Hillside Resort

This is really a nice place to stay. It's a great place to relax after diving for the day. They also have an Dive shop so you can dive with them and they will look after all your needs.

I stayed here when I arrives Cebu and booked again and went back before leaving the City visiting moalboal and kawasan in between. Staffs are great, good wifi and clean.

Steve from America is an awesome person to talk to. Dale is a cool dude as well. Thomas the owner will go out of his way to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. Simon the handyman/ bartender will sure to keep your glass full and watch to see if your bottle is empty!!! Great guy to chat with! The rest of the staff ( 2 girls) which I’m not sure of there names are always ready to assist you with your needs cooking, laundry etc. etc. Now last but not least the two little girls that live on site will sure make your day with there bright smiles and there quirky attitudes. After being to several places in the Philippines I highly recommend staying at Resort Cebu. Thanks Thomas for everything Dave from Canada/Bro

Bar/lounge

The Owner and staff are exceptional! Were relocating from US to Phillipines and stayed here for a night. Very helpful with finding us transportation onward for us. Definitely recommend staying here.

Villa Sandra Guesthouse

We spent 4 nights at Villa Sandra and really liked the place. Delicious food hard to find while travelling the Philippines. Reasonable prices as well. Great live music each night from 7pm to 10pm. Quiet after 10pm but a bit noisy before, it didn’t bother us. Highly recommend

My friend had booked the Thresher cove dive resort as a backup in case we ran out of things to do in Cebu. Thank God she had because we had the best three days in malapascua and I owe it to the staff at Threshers cove dive resort. We lived in the backpackers dorm C and while the room itself wasn't special, it had all the basic amenities you'd need. What sold this resort to me was the extremely friendly staff. They will make you feel like you're in tropical paradise. The food at the restaurant is a little on the sweet side but then again, it was not very bad and reasonably priced. They have a special backpacker menu where everything is at least 50 pesos cheaper. Absolutely recommend this resort to everyone. I know I'll be going back there for sure! :)

Staff are very friendly and helpful. They keep our room clean. It is located a few steps from St. Therese Church. It's a 5 to 8 minutes walk to JY Mall. This hostel is located on the 2nd floor of JY Palace Building along Edison St. Just tell the taxi driver it is near St. Therese Church in Lahug. It will cost you 120 to 140 pesos if you take a taxi going to SM City and 80-100 pesos going to Ayala. At night if you feel like having a sip of wine, you can visit La Vie Parisinne which is 15 to 20 minutes walk from this hostel or catch a (17B) jeepney at Shell Station for a minimum fare of 8 pesos and tell the driver to drop you off at La Vie. Try to book this place on Agoda where you can find good deals. This place is also known as Cebu Budgetel...

We went to the disco and to karaoke, and they showed us all around the island. Definitely the cheapest hostel on the island, but excellently located, just next to the marker which had good, cheap food. Hostel had a stove, sink and kettle + cooking utensils & pots, and loads of cups, plates and cutlery so easy to make/heat your own food too. Such a good place, I would come back to Malapascua just to visit this hostel again and see my friends! Nilma & Divina are hilarious, and the absolute best hosts! Cheers guys!

The mom of the owner was very accommodating. Cebu branch was awesome. It's just that, the one in Oslob called ''Sharky's'' was too basic. Metal roof, and concrete floor. They arranged our trip to Canyoneering and was disappointed because she didn't explain that canyoneering has half day and full day. Paid full day for the price of half day and when confronted, she argued that the owners of the land where canyoneering is located had unsettled dispute that cost the separation of lands that can only be explored by tourist according to which company they booked. But according to my observation, there were some who continued their adventure to the next falls, compared to us who went up the mountain and that was it for us. Though we paid full in price and didnt end up to Kawasan falls.

G&B Hostel

I had a wonderful and safe stay. The delux room made me feel like I was just in my own room. Everything is there kitchen utensils, stove etc. And the fixture is good for working guest. Overall, G and B Hostel is a great place to stay. A value for your money hotel.

That made no sense to us, and told them we paid for the dives and it said nothing about paying extra. They accepted that, but be warned. The hotel has a main site, and a second building 100m up the road away from the main hotel. We were placed in the second building, which is next to the main track to many hotels and is therefore very busy with motorbikes & trikes. We asked to move to the main site, and staff helped us move (though we had to give up AC to a fan, which we were ok with). The diving was simple and the dm's were very friendly and helpful. They let us chose our dive sites and kept a good eye on us. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and I would recommend the pancake for breakfast. If you're looking for a simple place to enjoy the diving, then it's alright: just a bit simple and the rooms can be a little noisy & small.

The place is okay and clean. The rest rooms might be nice if there's a soap dish rack or a place where u can hang your towel and clothes inside the bathroom. Overall, it has good value for money and it's clean. The location is good.

Although No More treehouses or rooms available, but I have to say that no regret at all to decide booking and staying the only TENT available here for my night. Make sure u book the queen bed for the tent. Don't worry, you won't feel any hot but cold night with nature wind and a little cute fans and lamp. Roasters will wake u up with their kor-kor-korrr. And LAST ONE, they provide the very best service on WhaleShark Snorkeling with very early first batch boat you can go, and of course, many other tours like Oslob-Bohol Tour, Badian Kawasan Canyoneering and even Massage service too! Too good here! Love the lady-boss here too, best of the best here in Oslob.

Sharky Hostel Oslob

This place is super simple, nothing special, but what makes it amazing is the lady who runs it. If you sleep there it’s because you want to go swim with the whaleskarks. She will queue for you from 3 in the Morning to make sure you will be on the first boat . We stayed in a private cabana with a Ventilator and a misquito net.

Lobby

Points of interest in Cebu City are accessible from this hotel. Hotel staff are also friendly and accommodation. I think it would be best for them to check the cleanliness of every room. The shower is not working and there are room facilities needing repair.

Lobby

Five thumbs up to this establishment, anyone who want to visit Cebu this is the best place to stay: value for money, very near to almost everything( food, recreation, work, shopping mall and etc....). Moreover, the staffs they are the best. Keep up the good work. Thank you guys, you make my stay in Cebu a memorable one. Safe haven indeed.

E-Mo Dormitory

It was quite convenient place, easy to reach anywhere in Cebu city. Staff are very kind and good security system. if you are a solo traveler, this place is the best choice especially for female. However, they don't have refrigerator... It's a weak point of this accommodation.

Dominic in particular, the front desk receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Not only will he tell you where to go but how to go there as well. He would give you some warnings as well in taking the public transport because there are specific jeeps that only travel to a particular route. Aside from that, he would also go out of his way to make your stay very comfortable. I booked a 6-bed room but when I arrived, my accomodation was upgraded to 2 rooms with 3 beds in each. His fellow staff even had my other compNions transfer to another room, which was better and more comfortable when the aircon in the previous room wasn't working. That really impressed me. I also liked that they hVe several lounge area where guests were able hang out at night. I was able to meet a German tourist and we talked for hours on the balcony. It was such a lovely ambiance. There were many foreign guests who enjoyed the lounge to smoke, get on their computer or phones. There's free wifi as well! Lol! The place is a stone's throw away from Persimmon which is a commercial arcade with shops and food stops. Very affordable prices and food tastes delicious. Definitely worth your money. All in all, I enjoyed my stay in this part of the city and I even dropped by the hotel to thank the staff once again for making my stay in the city worthwhile and comfortable. (I promised Dominic I would write him a good review and this is it!) kudos to the staff and keep up the good work!

Mactan - Cebu Airport Budget Hotel

If waiting for your flight or arriving at Cebu early in the morning (before you have your tours) this is one nice and quite place to take a quick rest and freshen up. Shared bathroom and toilet (some being renovated) though for a lot of room occupants. Otherwise easy accessibility and nice for travellers on a budget.

whenever i go to cebu for work, i always come across this hostel and i can't help but be interested with their "99 pesos per day" rate. so when i decided to go on a solo trip, this is one of my main option. my main purpose for the solo trip was to test my survival capabilities using limited resources. so my goals were to have reasonably cheap comfy accommodation, taste the best foods without splurging much and tour around using public transportation. i checked on sugbutel through the net and it seems to match my requirements. i took the lower deck of the dormitory room for 300 bucks exclusive of linen. good thing i brought my own blanket. :) btw, the 99 pesos rate is for 30 days advance booking so i was not able to avail it. i arrived on a sunday and to my surprise, a lot of people who are in business trips booked in this hostel. i was expecting for vacation stays rather than business purposes. and guess what?! most of them stayed in dormitories rather than private rooms! the following days, families with kids also checked in - for people who wants privacy and silence, better for you to get a private room instead of a dormitory. there's only 2 cr: common cr for men and one for women. both are very well maintained. ventilation is really good specially at night. hostel crews are accommodating and friendly. but most of all, i loved the strong wi-fi connections! :) in terms of security, they have cctv cameras to monitor people movements. rooms are also locked if no one is inside. the hostel also offers locker rentals at the lobby for 25 pesos per day. or if you have bulky baggage, you can leave it at their baggage counter beside the lockers. i think this one is free. i didn't expect that this type of accommodation can be this good. really good for budget trips.

Lobby

The place is located in central of Cebu, just walking distance to the big malls and other establishment. Bus terminal to the beach side and other points are within f5 mins away. The place is cool and staff are excellently friendly and helpful!

It exceeds all my expectations, from the receiving guards at the lobby, the security (they have a K9 dog at the lobby), the receptionists, the cleanliness and lighting of the room, the free minibar, soft comfortable bed and pillows, the infinity pool overlooking the city, the wide array of food they serve at breakfast, everything was great! It was a 15 minute drive from the airport, light to no traffic in the area, plus they also have a hospital adjacent to the hotel so God forbid, if anything happens, medical service will be readily available. I definitely will be choosing this hotel from now on and will recommend it to all who will be travelling to Cebu. :) Thank you Maayo Hotel.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. Positives: 1, The Pool, Beach and Facilities were clean and everything worked. 2. The food was well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. 3, The private, poolside bungalow with an ocean view was FANTASTIC. CONS: 1. WiFi was available, but only in the main lobby. 2. The location is isolated, but $3-5 US will get you anywhere you want to go. IF you are traveling for business or night life, this is not the place for you. IF you are seeking romance and relaxation this is hard to beat. We enjoyed our stay immensely, will return in the future and would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and crowds.

Location is slightly away from the city madness which is great, taxi easily available, only 10 mins and 100 peso to Ayala, also free hotel shuttle bus every 2 hours to and from Ayala and SM malls. Located on hill with excellent view of city. Sometimes very affordable rates on Agoda for a hotel of this stature which makes it good value. Excellent rooftop restaurant and bar but little expensive. Will always be my first choice in Cebu, truly a 5 star experience.

Had an overnight stay here and was completely surprised. We stay at a lot of hotels in Cebu, and this was the best yet. Everything was great! Kudos to the restaurant staff especially. The dinner buffet was superb!

The place was amazing, a true resort with high standards and cleanliness. The location was the only downside as we spent quite a fair bit of time and money travelling to and fro the city centre in cebu. It is definitely a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The beach was under renovation while I was there but the views were great.

As the title infers, we stayed here to expose our son to diving and see how he liked it. The Discovery PADI program was perfect for him, the instructor CJ was fantastic. He was very courteous, patient and thorough in preparing our son for his first dive. We will return for him to further his education later this year. We are a Fil/Am couple residing in Carcar Cebu for 7 years now. We go to many different resorts/hotels on the island and as things go, this one was fairly nice. It is off the beaten path, but we liked that. The food process were reasonable so we tried eating in and it was really very good, well prepared, good selection and served quickly. Free breakfast is fine with us, basic and well prepared. Our breakfast server was a bit forgetful, ie: cream and no sugar..... forgetting juices, etc... .seemed she never get the hang of remembering everything everyday. Our male server was much better even offering more coffee upon observing an empty cup. (I know... but not normal for them to observe here so worth note). We also were celebrating our anniversary during the visit and had planned to go to Panagsama beach for dinner, but I inquired at the front desk, and she arranged cake and flowers..... very well done I might add... and so then I asked the chef about some off menu possibilities and she went to the market to get some fresh crab (my wife's fav) so we stayed in and were SO PLEASED with the effort that Jane, Jera and May put into making that night so special. They setup a special table in the area above the dive shop, flower petals and candles all around. A very well coordinated night, thank you to those three and the chef and front desk for a perfect celebratory evening for us. Internet is fine most days, I downloaded many updates and larger files without trouble, but we were in a room near the entrance gate so no signal there... .we simply camped out at the bar when we needed to get online. While at the bar, as soon as we sat down, staff appeared and sat

We travelled with our three boys (7, 5, 3) and stayed for one night and two days only. Our superior room was equipped with a big double and a single bed and still had enough space to feel comfy. The bathroom was very clean and the room had a nice modern design. The hotel has two swimming pools, one with a slide wich our boys absolutely loved. We also enjoyed the kiddie korner, a room with lots of toys and craft material for kids. As our flight was leaving at midnight, we were allowed to check out of our room at 2pm without extra costs. After that we still could use the hotel facilities including the "public" showers. Our favorite was the food (breakfast buffet and a la carte lunch and dinner), it was the best food we had during our travel in the Philippines. It also was the most expensive one, but it was worth every penny. The hotel is located 30 mins from the airport and has a small beach, too, which can only be seen as a nice refreshment during high tide (still shallow water). During low tide there literally is no water at all. But Cebu should not be the place where you stay because of the nice beaches... The hotel offers free shuttle service to the big shopping malls, but we did not use this service. For our needs (spending two relaxing days close to the airport with our kids and enjoying the last days of our holidays) the hotel was just the perfect choice. We will definitely come back!

This place is a hidden gem amidst the fancy hotels in the vicinity. Good value for money and rooms are adequate, comfortable and clean if you are not looking for a 5-star experience. No cable tv though but not necessary if one only stays for the night

Stayed 3 nights in Moalboal. Cool relaxed vibe in small resort. Staff super friendly and helpfull. Great dive location and good equipment. All the food served was really good. Great place to stay if you want to dive and explore cebu. Hotel organized our dives and canyoning in Badian.

La Mirada Residences 2, Luxury 2 bedroom condo

Roland's condo is a nice place to stay on Mactan Island. It is just a bit overpriced for a converted 1 bedroom with 1 bath. Previously I rented a true 2 bed 2 bath for for same price per day in the same building. It would be nice to include a water dispenser inside the condo. Overall the condo is clean and comfortable.

And the room deco is spotless. If you took photos, you could use them in a brochure to advertise condos or something And unlike many CEBU hotels, a hot shower is available at any time of night or day. How many times have I found only cold water in the later evening - including the Bayfront hotel. So many hotels here go so far as to only turn on their water heater between ~7 and 10 AM Area is fine, unless you need to be close to the airport for an early flight. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They'll give you directions to stuff and also warn you if you'll end up in a seedy area.

Then the next day the electric went off I asked for my money back or to be moved we finally moved to a studio which was actually better. Think it just depends on your luck much better to book a hotel. Also loads of maintenance. The beach close by was small and dirty and not worth even looking at. Pool was great and the gym good it’s far away from everything, there is a supermarket and cafe and restaurants close by. Personally I would never go back to Cebu again dirty expensive and too much traffic.

BEACH Condo + Water Activities in Mactan Cebu

Good location right front of beach (private nice beach only hotel guests can use) joint with infinite fresh water swimming pool well maintained. All the staffs are friendly and helpful. We did enjoy stay for four nights.

Watersport Beach Resort Santander

Watersport is a self-contained resort with diving facility and restaurant. The rooms and restaurant is authentically German and serves as welcome relief from tropical Philippines. The staff is first rate and friendly. The dive master is superb, with technical expertise and kind human character.

Bedroom

The room was horrible; it had flies and hair everywhere; bed had stains; room was filthy. (Comments made by the actual traveler)

Diving certificates was achieved under great guidance and professionalism. The house reef (100m from shore) was like an private aquarium. Transport from Cebu city was arranged with private pick-up and worked flawlessly. We loved our time in Dolphin House and will certainly try to come back. Most recommended. Mactan Newtown Beach Condominium unit for RENT

The room fixtures were good but the attention to details was poor! No bottle opener, no can opener, a room for 3 persons with 1 towel, 1 mug for coffee, 2 plates etc., no balcony chairs, 1 saucepan that had burnt remains on the bottom, no knife sharpe enough to cut a lemon ... you get the picture. :( Most of this was put right when I complained but should I have to ...

When an additional towel arrived she said it was dirty and put it in the washing machine indicating that I use it after it finished washing! They tried to charge for beach access and only because I argued their post didn't mention paying that they eventually agreed to give me a free pass. The location was convienient and the sand beach was a welcome alternative to Mactan mud and Cebu City pollution. I will certainly return to Newtown but will look for better accomodation, if on vacation and certainly if on business I do not want the stress of having to ask for everything!

My dream house, couldn't have dreamt of a better house for my holidays. I wish I'd booked this for more than one night

Melissa's 2-Story Apartment (Cebu), 3 BRs, 15 pax

The only draw back is when you’re out of the community gate because it’s so crowded, the traffic is bad. But once you have your own car it will be ok. The owner is very sweet and very accommodating, she even gives us 2 gallons of ice cream which was beyond our expectations. Recommended place to stay.

Swimming pool

Pros: we were able to checkin early, which was super helpful with our two young children Cons: no e We only stayed one night, it was perfect. Suggestions: aircon need a clean, tea spoons and toaster in the kitchen😊

Bedroom

Like an oasis just off an industrial like road which leads to everywhere. If you are reading this message my advice is to book it while you still can. It’s perfect for 1-2 guests.

Exterior view

most expensive place i booked on my trip turned out to be most disappointing. the room (native room) was very small, toiletpaper and second towel was provided only after asking, staff was kinda pushy trying to sell their food. pool was not clean, beach access was a platform much too high to get to the sea

Mariana in Panagsama Beach

Quite a little trek to get to the place but worth it. Was not aware that the staff stayed there as well. The best place about it was the little baby that was so adorable.

The location is very accessible to tourist attractions, public transport, mall, eateries, pharmacy, sari-sari store, etc. Everything you need is just a few steps away. Neighborhood is safe and quiet. Facilities (i.e. microwave oven, stove, shower, wifi, lan internet is good,. Fely, the caretaker is kind and responsive. Felt like we're in our own home. Few cons were no coffee or tea offered as shown in the amenities here, the 3 thin soaps given did not last for 4 days for 4 person. The mineral water was delivered the next day, so we had to buy our own on our 1st day stay. Over-all, we were really satisfied with our stay here. Definitely will rent this on our next visit to Cebu

Anything we needed that wasn't provided already can be requested. The house is located at the end of the street with view of the sea. Can be noisy during the day because it is right in front of the pool of the neighboring hotel but the noise level didn't bother us at all. We felt safe because the compound had 24 hour security. Right out side the gate was a tricycle which we hired to go to town. I would say our stay is almost perfect except that the water heater in the master bedroom shower was broken during our stay. And the cable tv was turned off early on the day of our check out. Other than that, this house is great.

MABOLO GARDEN A1+ FREE POOL GYM WIFI NEAR MALL

i read negative comments about this place but i choose still book for a room because of their pool which can be access untill 10pm, the unit was equiped with almost everything we need during stay.. refrigerator, cooking utensils, tv, aircon and more.. cold & hot shower is also available.. thankful for the staffs who assisted us

Nearby attraction

The Host was very sweet, I was greeted with a basket of fruit and bottles of water! The unit is very clean and well decorated. I would recommend the unit to anyone.

Bedroom

Very budget friendly. Exactly the kind of room I need. We rented it for 5 days. Unfortunately, the WiFi stopped working on the 4th day. It's PLDT's fault anyway. Nonetheless, the unit was fine.

Groceries can be bought from the supermarkets about 15mins away. BE WARNED, the location as advertised on Agoda before booking is incorrect. The actual location of the house is in a Subdistrict in Talisay City. It is very inconvenient to get around but Joy will be able to arrange for a car with/without a driver to bring you around. There are also motorcycle taxis available near the guard house. I must say though, being situated on a hilltop, the views are amazing.

Shower

man i love this place. ok this is not an hotel but a flat. garage for the scooter. the flat is spacious with balcony. the kitchen is nice. the bathroom a little bit small but clean and new. still not try the gym and the pool but are going to very soon hehe come!

Avida 1BR Towers w/ High Speed WIFI (2nd floor)

Definitely going to book here again and recommend it to friends

Family room

The location was good, however the apartment was small and decor was simple and minimal. Super small t.v mounted on the wall. I think if the get a larger .t.v and apply some type of decoration on the the walls it will improve the place greatly. It's ok for a short stay for a few days

Thanks for that! There is ongoing construction but we were more distracted by the gym and pools. Both facilities exceeded our expectations. There a few street restaurants near the property. We indulged in some great Filipino classics. Affordable and delicious! Great City to spend time with your vacation, So much history, people are friendly, great food and very affordable.

Easy access to almost anywhere.

Cebu City has all the convenience any tourist would like to avail. Very friendly, helpful people. It has a lot of cultural, historical, natural places to visit.

Good for business investments.

What is unique about Cebu City is the many historical places. However, I was not impress with the unfriendliness of the people.

Traffic and trashes is also one of the downturn of this City.

To visit the tourist areas - its a long drive to say pier 1 to get a ferry to bohol island or a long van ride to water falls or island hopping and traffic is a nightmare if you dont leave the hotel before 6.

If you are a tourist, this is the best place for several water activities. Go to Oslob, Cebu before noon to experience swimming with whale sharks.

Check out the do's and dont's to enjoy the experience. There are clean and beautiful beaches very near the City center.

lots of things to do especially sinulog season. but, the place is beginning to be like manila....traffic traffic and traffic everywhere

Not a holiday destination unless your hotel has all the facilities you need or you're researching this country of rich and poor contrast.

Occasional shows of wealth but all too frequent over crowded hovels & street children begging passers-by and cars. Hard to believe this country does have the most attractive holiday resorts in the world, on the coasts.

Steeped in Culture. Harold's Hotel was by far the best Hotel. Food Service Impeccable. TJS Bar and Grill was one of the best places to kick back and Relax.

The Bottomless Mojitos were fantastic Value and The Steaks were delicious. ( Located in Ayalla Shopping Centre). Taxi Service was great. Security Guards were very helpful.

"Queen city of the South"....this is THE spot for basing yourself for travel around the Visayas....many islands and beaches to visit from here and much better than Manila unless viisiting Philippines for business.

Excellent restaurants and shopping possibilities. My favourite sight seein spot is the Taoist temple in Beverly Hills

Friendly people and honest cabbies. The city is no dirtier than any other Philippine city. There are so many beautiful women.

Modern yet very laid back. Everything is near (beaches, mountains, shopping districts) People are friendly

A nice City with an abundance of Heritage and Spiritual History. But to fully enjoy the area traveller's need to explore outside the city centre and enjoy the outer areas and seaside towns such as Oslob and kasawan Falls.

. Nice for a week or so, but the 3-4 star Hotels are overpriced compared to other Philippine destinations.

Cebu City is a fun place for tourists. If you haven't tried it, eat lechon (whole roasted pig with crunchy skin)go to Zubuchon or Rico's.

Try the pork rind cracklings also. You will surely enjoy the chocolate coated dried mangoes which is Cebu's pride.

Traffic jam during day time especially to/from Mactan airport to Cebu city center. Perhaps better to stay in Mactan rather than Cebu city.

Most car driver ignore traffic rules. Too dangerous to drive the car unless otherwise you adopted how to drive safely in the city.

Beautiful city. Its clean and the people are very friendly especially the taxi drivers are God fearing people.

Beautiful beaches and good casinos. Big shopping malls. Bigger than Manila malls. Food is cheap.

Cebu City is totally a compact city. You may have variable interests to come and visit the city because it basically offers a budget or affordable tourist can choose upon.

You will definitely enjoy the beaches as well as it is very closeby.

Excellent to visit directly and not to land in Manila due to poor airport security. Cebu and Davao still a safe and friendly cities

I did not find Cebu to be that great. But that may be from my lack of itinerary. Cebu has a few famous landmarks, such as "Magellan's Cross", Santo Nino Church and Fort San Pedro, but that wasn't enough to merit my stay there.

I do like history, but I was underwhelmed. I was impressed with the ease of finding taxis, but the traffic was pretty bad during weekdays. The taxis are very cheap, but sitting in a taxi for a long time makes me restless and I feel my vacation time withering away. The main problem was that I didn't do anything beach or swimming related. I would say for visitors, you need to arrange something like that to maximize what Cebu offers. Walking about the city seeing the above mentioned sights exposes you to the parts of Philippines that isn't pretty: the poverty. That goes for any city in Philippines. Just stick to the resort, guided tour or planned outing and don't wander off on your own. I felt safe because there was security at most buildings, helpful guys who hailed taxis for you. I am being picky, but I feel on vacation you should have little stress and expose yourself to places as nice or nicer than where you live everyday. I liked Thailand better, it's a step up.

A LARGE DIVERSE CITY WITH A LOT OF POVERTY in abundance yet still people put ona smile and show they are happy .

Plenty of shopping available . Nightlife is good . SPORTS FACILITIES ARE NOT GOOD AS PHILS IS NOT WELL KNOWN FOR SPORTS AS COUNTRY TOO POOR TO ACCOMMODATE SUCH ACTIVITIES-- this is why MANNY PACQUIAO IS NOW a US Citizen

Mainly stayed to see the lifestyle and experience atmosphere. There isnt that much to see in the city.

Uptown shops. Downtown shops. Colon St main road with heaps of stalls/shops. A few touristy things south and near Piers (didnt go to Bohol). Smaller version of Quezon City - nice place - would not recommend walking everywhere - many of roads are not fit/made for pedestrian access - take jeepney instead. Most of tourist places are further outside the city (i didnt have time to visit).

It's a great city that offers city, mountain and beach lifestyles. It also has a rich cultural and religious histories that they were able to preserve despite the rapid urbanization and modern living.

A city which forces you to wake up real early. Else your life is spent crawling through the traffic. Friendly and smiling folks.

Eager to help but watch out for touts too.

airport to ceby downtown, or downtown back to airport, can take white taxi, reasoanble fee without too much bargaining.

can also hire per hour basic if you want. if have chance heard we should go to other island or other part of Cebu, rather than only downtown.

Cebu si second largest city in Philippine, but comparing with Manila, is much nicer, much cleaner & less crowded, should stayed here for more few days.

pity only 2 nights.

the blackouts were a disaster. the restaurants were so hot, you would lose your appetite. the people are not so familiar with where the cebu city hall was located.

the beaches however, were great.

Get a motorcycle with a local and go around the see all the sights. It's much more safe than Jepneys, doesn't make you a target for pickpocketers and hagglers.

Really makes you feel like a local. Remember to smile and wave a lot. The locals stare lots only because they are curious to see Westerners in their part of the globe.

It's better to exchange foreign currency at places near Osmena Circle, rather than airport and hotels, considering the rate.

Come and visit phillipines is a good choice for relaxation and filipino are very friendly hospitable and they always wear there smiles.

happy people.

This is my 2nd trip to Cebu and I will continue to come here because its a place where you can see the old and new merge into 1 dynamic City.

I always come back for the Lechon! Great Food, Great People... lots of smiles!

Cebu City is a fantastic place for sightseeing and diving into the rich culture and history of the Philippines. Don't miss the chance to visit the  Casa Gorordo Museum  and explore the historic Basilica of Santo Nino. Fort San Pedro is a historic Spanish bastion that stands as a living testament to the island's colonial past.

For shopping, check out Ayala Mall, which has lots of international brands, dining, and a cinema.

If you're up for some exploration, there are plenty of tours you can take from Cebu City. Personally, my favorite is the  island hopping tour  to Bantayan Island and Virgin Island. It's the perfect tour if you want to experience the stunning beaches without staying on Bantayan Island.

From Cebu City, you can also take a day trip to nearby Bohol or take the ferry and stay overnight in Bohol .

For a unique dinner experience, you should check out  Top of Cebu . It's a rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the whole city. And on top of the amazing views, they actually serve great steaks and a variety of traditional Filipino dishes. It's also a great spot to relax at night with a few drinks.

2. Where to stay in Cebu for backpackers & coolest atmosphere: Moalboal

Moalboal is hands down the coolest little town in Cebu! Located on Cebu’s southwestern coast, this small town offers the ultimate beach holiday with an incredible range of natural experiences and authentic Filipino culture, all away from the crowds of tourists. However, it's a fast-growing area!

You'll find plenty of young people and backpackers here, creating a super chill vibe.

The surrounding reef makes Moalboal an absolute paradise for divers and snorkelers. It's an absolute must-visit if you're into snorkeling or scuba diving.

Things to see & do in Moalboal

Spend the day being lazy on White Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. As the name already suggests, it boasts one of the best white sandy beaches. But there are some cool waterfalls in the area to explore. Kawasan Falls is about a 30-minute drive from Moalboat.

Or stay around the water with plenty of snorkeling and turtle spotting, or see the Moalboat sardine run, a huge bait ball just off the shores of Panagsama Beach.

However, if you're here for the dive sites, I recommend Savedra Dive Shop. The staff here is incredibly helpful, and they can take you on various dives around the island. They also offer courses to help you get your diving certification.

If you're searching for a cool spot to hang out in the evening, you've got to check out Blue Mango Bar in the town center. They serve up cheap cocktails and the atmosphere is always buzzing with fun and they open until 2 am!

3. Where to stay in Cebu for the best beaches & families: Mactan Island

If you're looking for a beach resort close to the bustling city for your stay in Cebu, I recommend you look at Mactan Island as the perfect destination for you!

Mactan Island is an island located east of Cebu City and connected to the city via a bridge, making it super accessible and easy to get to.

Here, you'll find everything you need for an amazing family vacation. Not only will you be close to the airport and Cebu City center, but you'll also have plenty of different beach resorts to choose from, with many scuba diving shops and watersports activities around.

Mactan Island is definitely the perfect place to keep the whole family entertained!

If you're looking to take your family out for a delicious dinner or lunch, I recommend heading to  The Sails . It's a cozy restaurant with fresh fish and pizza every day and happens to be my favorite restaurant on Mactan Island. It's located within the Mövenpick Hotel.

If you happen to find yourself in Mactan Island and craving a delicious coffee and lunch, let me share my personal favorite with you: Tom n Toms Coffee ! They serve good barista-made coffee (which is hard to find in the Philippines!), along with great sandwiches and some yummy cakes.

4. Where to stay in Cebu for couples: Malapascua Island

Malapascua Island is a hidden gem nestled off the northern coast of Cebu. It's a 40-minute ferry ride from the main island of Cebu.

Picture this: golden-sand beaches, swaying palm trees, lush green jungle, and turquoise waters that scream romance. It's the perfect spot for a honeymoon or a cozy couple's getaway.

This tiny coral island is an absolute paradise for scuba divers and snorkelers. Swimming with thresher sharks and graceful manta rays in the crystal clear waters surrounding Malapascua Island is the highlight here on this long and narrow island.

Malapascua is also a budget-friendly destination with plenty of affordable hostels, budget hotels, and cozy guesthouses scattered across the island.

Things to see & do on Malapascua Island

World-class diving and spotting thresher sharks is definitely the highlight when staying on the island, but let me tell you about a few other awesome things I loved when I visited Malapascua Island.

There are plenty of beaches to check out, such as Logon Beach, Guimbitayan Beach and Bounty Beach, the most famous one.

Another super cool activity for the brave ones: cliff jumping into the beautiful blue ocean!

Oh, and I've got a personal recommendation for you! There's this cute and quirky breakfast place called  Bebot's . It's a great spot for fresh pancakes and juices in the morning. You should definitely check it out!

5. Where to stay in Cebu for whale shark watching: Oslob

Oslob can be a bit tricky to get to, but it's a fantastic place to visit. The best way to get here from Cebu City is with a 2-hour ferry.

One of the main tourist attractions of Oslob is whale shark watching and swimming with these creatures, which is truly an incredible experience. Capturing amazing pictures with those massive sharks is very unique.

However, I understand that swimming with whale sharks has received some criticism in recent years for moral reasons, so I leave it up to you to decide if this is the right thing that aligns with you.

Here are some whale shark tours to suss out:

Whale Shark Encounter and Sumilon Sandbar with Kawasan Falls

But don't worry, Oslob has much more to offer than just whale sharks! You can explore beautiful waterfalls in the jungle and discover historical landmarks such as the Cuartel Ruins. Trust me, Oslob is definitely worth a visit!

Oslob is home to many stunning waterfalls, but none compare to the majestic beauty of Tumalog Falls. This picture-perfect natural wonder is a classic example of a horsetail waterfall, with the descending waters gracefully caressing the rocks, creating a breathtaking curtain-like effect.

From Oslob, you can also island hop to the small island of Sumilon. Sitting on the southern coast of Cebu, Sumilon Island is famous for snorkeling, diving and its beautiful sandbank. Since the island is so small, there's only one hotel to stay in called Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort.

6. Where to stay in Cebu to unwind & relax: Bantayan Island

Bantayan Island is my little secret that I'm sharing with you, as it's still somewhat of a hidden gem. It's one of the best places to unwind and forget about everything.

On this idyllic island, you will find golden-sand beaches, swaying coconut trees, bright blue waters, and plenty of pure relaxation without many tourists around.

The good thing is that there is accommodation for any budget. You can find a few luxury villas and cabanas, but you'll also come across cozy little boutique hotels that won't break the bank.

Accommodation guide cebu

Things to see & do on Bantayan Island

Apart from lounging on beautiful white sand beaches all day and sipping cocktails or enjoying fresh coconuts, there are actually quite a few cool things to do on the island.

The best beaches are Kota Beach, Paradise Beach and Sugar Beach. I believe the beach names themselves say it already!

Don't miss visiting the Omagieca Mangrove Garden and Boardwalk, a lovely stroll through the mangrove forest where you can spot plenty of wildlife and fish.

Another must-do when you're on Bantayan Island is taking a trip over to Virgin Island. It's got similar vibes to Bantayan Island but even smaller and quieter. It's perfect for a day trip to explore a different location.

And lastly, for all the coffee lovers out there, or anyone craving a delicious dessert or a full traditional meal, I can recommend Kermits Cafe, a great spot for a quick and delicious lunch or snack!

7. Where to stay in Cebu close to the airport: Lapu-Lapu City

Lapu-Lapu City is an urban area on Mactan Island and definitely one of the best places to stay in Cebu, especially if you need to catch a flight. It's only a short drive away (around 15 minutes) from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, making it an ideal location for travelers who want convenience and easy access. The flight time coming from Manila to Cebu is roughly 1.5 hrs.

Apart from its proximity to the airport, Lapu-Lapu City is also not far from some of the most beautiful beaches in Cebu. There's also a nice stroll along the shoreline while admiring stunning views of Mactan Island.

So you could be touching down at the airport to lounging on the pristine white sands and dipping your toes in the crystal clear water within less than an hour!

Tips and Warnings

  • To book the cheapest flights for Cebu, try to book 2-3 months before your trip . Always remember to follow the social media accounts of airlines so you’ll instantly be updated if they have seat sales or low fare promos.
  • Although traveling alone might seem like a great idea since you can go wherever you want and you’re the only one making the rules, traveling with some of your best buddies will make your trip cheaper since you’ll have someone to split the costs with.
  • Buses in Cebu don’t operate 24/7 so you should always go to the ports or terminals as early as possible.
  • Make it a point to wear comfortable clothes, apply sunscreen, and stay hydrated since it can get pretty hot in Cebu–even as hot as Manila.
  • Traffic can get really bad in Cebu. The key is to avoid heavy traffic around 8-10 AM and 6-8 PM in these areas: Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Mandaue City. Adjust your travel time if you think you’ll be stuck in traffic.
  • Always be polite and respectful to the people around you.
  • Cebuanos are very helpful so don’t hesitate to ask for directions or questions when you need to.
  • Save money by buying products and goods from local markets instead of shopping malls. You can also find the cheapest souvenirs at Carbon Market.
  • If unsure, use Google Maps for directions and to figure out the distance between your point of origin and the next destinations.
  • Since you have a budget and a timeframe for your trip, choose the best destinations to go to according to your interests. Make a detailed itinerary before the trip.
  • Although Cebu has a lot of budget hotels and luxury accommodations, it’s better to book your room ahead of time so you’ll have a guaranteed place to stay.
  • Eat like a local. If you want to save money and get a taste of Cebu’s local cuisine, dine at local restaurants instead of fast-food chains.
