At Corrimal Beach Tourist Park, you're right on the edge of the beach, and close enough to make the most of all the city’s attractions.

Spend your morning by the sea, and in the afternoon check out Wollongong’s shops and museums or catch a show at the WIN Entertainment Centre or Illawarra Performing Arts Centre. The city has plenty of great cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy as well. Just be sure to make some time to explore the Wollongong Harbour foreshore and shared pathway area known as the Blue Mile.

it was just a good allrounder caravan park plenty of things for the kids to do. close to beach, facilities and staff were always ready to help.

Corrimal Beach

Corrimal Beach is 1.4 kilometres long and backed by sand dunes, grassy reserves and Corrimal Beach Tourist Park.

Holiday makers and local’s alike enjoy this beach. A small lagoon proves popular with children for shallow paddling. Corrimal is located six kilometres north of Wollongong’s central business district.

Corrimal Beach is only patrolled from the commencement of the NSW school holidays in September to the end of the NSW April school holidays. North Wollongong Beach is the only beach in the area that is patrolled all year round.

East Corrimal Beach, located to the north, is an off lead dog friendly beach. Once past the lagoon on Corrimal Beach this dog friendly area begins.

Description

Corrimal Beach is 1.4 kilometres long and backed by fenced sand dunes, grassy reserves and Corrimal Beach Tourist Park. Holiday makers and locals alike enjoy this beach. A small lagoon proves popular with children for shallow paddling. Corrimal is located six kilometres north of Wollongong’s central business district.

Corrimal Beach is only patrolled from the commencement of the NSW school holidays in September to the end of the NSW April school holidays. North Wollongong Beach is the only beach in the area that is patrolled all year round. East Corrimal Beach, located to the north, is an off lead dog friendly beach. Once past the lagoon on Corrimal Beach this dog friendly area begins.

Corrimal Beach commences at the low Sandspit Point and trends to the southwest for 1.5 km terminating in lee of the low Towradgi Point. The beach is breeched by the small mouth of Bellambi Lake in the north and Towradgi Creek in the south, with an 800 m long fence foredune in between, backed by a caravan park. To the south of Towradgi Creek is another 250 m of foredune, backed by the Corrimal SLSC (founded 1913) and a large flat area next to the creek with plenty of parking and a grassed picnic area and playing fields. There is vehicle access across the creek to the surf club and the southern point, which has a picnic area and rock pool on the platform.

Swimming Rips dominate this beach so stay to the south and between the flags. Be very careful up the beach, as the rips are stronger. Stay on the bar if attached and avoid the rip holes and feeder currents.

Surfing Best known for its beach breaks, with surfers preferring the southern end, but making the trek up the beach when the bars are right.

Fishing The low rocks at either end are awash at high tide and in big seas, with the beach offering the safest spots, and good gutters toward Sandspit Point.
