Carnival Glory first set sail in 2003 and was outfitted with “Fun Ship 2.0” amenities, including new dining venues and bars, in 2012. In 2022, it received routine cosmetic enhancements, a new cafe and an expanded casino. Its next scheduled refurbishment will take place in spring 2024. 

Those seeking entertainment will find Playlist Production musicals and comedy acts at the Punchliner Comedy Club. Carnival Glory also offers activities like mini-golf, waterslides and video arcades.

When it comes to food, the ship is equipped with two main dining rooms, a specialty steakhouse (for an extra fee) and the Lido Deck, which features an extensive buffet, Guy’s Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina. Parents can sip cocktails at eight bars, while kids ages 2 to 17 play in age-appropriate youth clubs.

In terms of lodging, the ship offers a variety of options that range from smaller Interior and Ocean View cabins to Balcony and Suite category rooms – all of which include flat-screen TVs, terry cloth robes and 24-hour room service. Plus, the ship maintains a crew of 1,150 to serve its 2,980 passengers, offering a higher level of personalization than larger ships within the fleet.

Carnival Glory sails from  New Orleans , Orlando and  Barcelona  to destinations across the Caribbean and the Panama Canal. It also completes transatlantic voyages.

Where can you find this little slice of Mexican paradise? Next to the pool, of course. Wanna splish — and splash — the day away? Head on over to WaterWorks, Carnival's onboard waterpark. First up, there's the Twister Waterslide, hundreds of feet of spiraling awesomeness that starts you off high in the air and gets you down low with one of the fastest, wettest rides you'll find anywhere. Select ships have side-by-side racing slides, which make serious competition seriously fun. Wear your speed suit for Speedway Splash, which features hundreds of feet of racing action, plus special lighting effects you'll experience on the road to victory. DrainPipe ends with one major swirl of a finish, while PowerDrencher takes soaking seriously — imagine the biggest bucket of water you've ever seen, raining down on you from above. And this isn't just kids' stuff — the young at heart are encouraged to zoom and splash around too! (WaterWorks configurations vary by ship.)

Carnival Cruise Line celebrates 30 years in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Carnival Cruise Line celebrated 30 years of sailing out of New Orleans on Monday, May 6.

Officials with the cruise line announced the arrival of a new permanent ship, Carnival Liberty, to commemorate the anniversary.

“This is the Carnival Liberty’s first ever voyage, sailing out of the beautiful city of the Port Orleans after cruising out of Cape Canaveral, Florida the past seven years,” said Cruise Director Adam Gilbert.

Carnival Cruise Line has been at the forefront of cruises for New Orleans. Carnival officials hope the new addition will bring in more business.

“We estimate we’re going to sail about 400,000 guests out of New Orleans this year,” said Chief Communications officer for Carnival Cruise Line Chris Chiames. “We expect another record year. We saw that in 2023 and we expect that to continue.”

The economic impact is not just felt by the cruise line, but also by businesses in the Big Easy.

“Every guest that comes in a Carnival Cruise spends money in the city. Whether it be coming in early and spending a few nights in the hotel, eating at restaurants, parking their car, they’re generating revenue and income,” said Chiames.

The ship is filled with family activities and offers unique experiences for those craving adventure.

“We’ve got so many new features, so many new entertainments on board as well, that they’re going to absolutely love,” said Gilbert.

The boat will be going on year-long trips, taking people to and from dreamy destinations.

Carnival Liberty is switching places with the ship Carnival Glory. May 6 is the beginning of a series of cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
