ATLANTA — The PGA Tour season concludes at East Lake Golf Club for the Tour Championship this week, as the top 30 players look to take home the FedEx Cup.

Here is everything you need for the Tour Championship: a preview, full TV schedule, streaming schedule, and complete list of first-round tee times.

Tour Championship Information

Where: East Lake Golf Club (Par 70, 7,346 yards)

When: Aug. 24-27th

Purse: $75 million ($18 million to the winner)

Tour Championship Preview

The final event of the 2023 season is here as the PGA Tour looks to crown a FedEx Cup champion at the Tour Championship. Players will compete for a $75 million purse, where the winner will take home a whopping $18 million.

This week is different from the BMW Championship and FedEx St. Jude Championship. Players start with strokes depending on where they finished on the points standings. Scottie Scheffler will start at 10-under, Viktor Hovland at 8-under, Rory McIlroy at 7-under, Jon Rahm at 6-under and so on.

East Lake Golf Club is a doozy. Multiple par-4s stretch beyond 450 yards, and there are only two par-5s on the course. Keeping it in the fairways will be imperative. Water comes into play on some pivotal holes, so avoiding the penalty areas will be a crucial component to hoisting the FedEx Cup trophy.

McIlroy sits in a strong spot entering the week. Last year, he came from behind and waltzed past Scheffler to win his third FedEx Cup. With nine straight top-9s and his game in form, can the Northern Irishman close it out in Atlanta again?

Scheffler fell short last year, but did he learn his lesson?

Hovland is coming off a historic 61 at Olympia Fields to win the BMW Championship, and he looks dialed in this week. Can he go back-to-back?

Xander Schauffele plays East Lake better than anyone in the field. Only Tiger Woods plays this course better historically. Schauffele won in 2017 and has finished in the top seven in the past six seasons.

So many intriguing storylines are here in Atlanta as the top players in the world will battle it out at East Lake. Of course, they will need to beat the heat too.

How to Watch the Tour Championship

Golf Channel and CBS will share television coverage for the final playoff event this week.

How to stream the Tour Championship

The Tour Championship will be available for streaming via ESPN+ from 11:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. For the third round, ESPN+ will stream coverage from noon to 7 p.m. Then on Sunday, streaming airs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be featured group coverage on the streaming services all four days, per the PGA Tour.

PGA Tour Championship: TV channel, live stream, tee times for FedEx Cup tournament

All the excitement of the PGA Tour season concludes this weekend with the Tour Championship.

The top 30 players will battle for the FedExCup in the serenity of Georgia's East Lake Golf Club.

The event's purse is $75 million, with the winner receiving $18 million of that.

Last year, Rory McIlroy won his third championship and FedEx Cup, becoming the first player with that many titles. The Northern Ireland maestro beat out American Scottie Scheffler after making up six strokes in the final round.

McIlroy returns to take on Scheffler, who currently has the lead in the PGA standings. Scheffler is just ahead of Viktor Hovland in second and the defending champion is sitting in third.

The players get a special advantage in the tournament based on their standings.

The 2022 Tour Championship, the grand finale of the FedEx Cup Playoffs , takes place Aug. 25-28 at East Lake in Atlanta. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the Tour Championship all week long.

How to watch the Tour Championship

After 40-plus tournaments and two playoff events, the PGA Tour season which began last fall finally comes to an end this week at the Tour Championship. But a full field of players won’t be making the trip to Atlanta. Instead, just the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings following last week’s BMW Championship earn a tee time at East Lake.

Those 30 players will battle for the enormous $18 million first-place prize and the title of 2022 FedEx Cup champion, with second place receiving $6.5 million, 10th place earning $1 million and 30th place getting a cool $500,000.

And a long list of the game’s best players are among those making the trip. Those players include four-time major champion Rory McIlroy , World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler , defending FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay , Jordan Spieth , Justin Thomas , Adam Scott and more.

Thirty players, 72 holes, $18 million to the winner. These are stakes at this week’s Tour Championship, where the FedEx Cup champion will be crowned at East Lake Country Club in Atlanta as the PGA Tour culminates its 2022-23 season.

Rory McIlroy is looking to become the first player to win back-to-back FedEx Cup titles. The Northern Irishman started the final round a year ago six shots off the pace of leader Scottie Scheffler, only to shoot a closing 66 and rally to claim his third career FedEx Cup, adding to wins in 2016 and 2019.

But if McIlroy is to repeat, he has his work cut out for him. Unique to this week’s event is the tournament’s staggered start format, where the No. 1 ranked player in the FedEx Cup standings heading into the week—Scott Scheffler for the second straight year—starts the tournament at 10 under par, with the rest of the field playing catch-up. McIlroy, No. 3 in the standings, begins the first round three back of Scheffler at seven under.

While the winner takes home $18 million, all 30 players competing will earn at least $500,000. Here’s a break down of the FedEx Cup bonus payouts: Win: $18,000,000

2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans final results: Prize money payout, PGA Tour leaderboard and how much each golfer won

T he 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans final leaderboard is headed by winners Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry , who top the PGA Tour leaderboard this week and with a win at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La.

McIlroy and Lowry won the two-man team event after they finished tied in regulation on 25-under 263 with Martin Trainer and Chad Ramey, who finished two hours ahead of the Irish duo.

In the playoff hole, played in the alternate-shot format, McIlroy and Lowry made a par on the par-5 18th to the Ramey and Trainer team bogey to win the title.

Garrick Higgo and Ryan Fox finished in solo third, a shot out of the playoff.

McIlroy and Lowry won the $2,572,100 winner's share of the $8,900,000 purse.

Zurich Classic of New Orleans recap notes

McIlroy and Lowry earned no Official World Golf Ranking points with the win in the 72-hole stroke-play championship, as team events do not allow for OWGR points.

McIlroy and Lowry earned 400 FedEx Cup points each, with the PGA Tour points offered at the combined standard level for this event.

A total of 80 (of 160) players finished the tournament after a 36-hole cut was made in this team event.

England's Kim, 16, youngest to make PGA Tour cut in 11 years

Kris Kim , a 16-year-old English amateur playing on a sponsor exemption at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, became the youngest player in 11 years to make the cut in a PGA Tour event.

Kim finished his second round Friday with a birdie for a 4-under 67. At 7-under 135, he was among 66 players who made the cut, which was 6 under. Jake Knapp was the leader at 14-under 128.

Guan Tianlang was 14 when he made the cut at both the Masters and Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2013, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

At 16 years, seven months old, Kim is the fifth-youngest player ever to make a PGA Tour cut, according to the Tour. His feat also comes just two weeks after Miles Russell, 15, became the youngest to make the cut in the 35-year history of the Korn Ferry Tour.

Kim, who is the son of former LPGA Tour player and South Korea native Ji-Hyun Suh, is making his PGA Tour debut. He is the first amateur sponsored by South Korean company CJ Group, which is the title sponsor of the Nelson for the first time.

"I'm happy," Kim said. "I can't wait to get started again tomorrow.

"I've enjoyed it so much the last couple days, and being here two more days makes it so much sweeter."

A first-time Tour winner earlier this year, Knapp, enters the weekend with sole possession of the lead after a second consecutive 7-under 64 in McKinney, Texas. At 14-under 128, he was a stroke ahead of Troy Merritt (62) and first-round leader Matt Wallace (66), and two ahead of Kelly Kraft (66).

"Even when I was doing any of that stuff, I always knew this was what I wanted to do, and felt like it's where I should be. Just wasn't there yet," said Knapp, just more than two years removed from working security at a restaurant in his hometown that was also a late-night hotspot. "Just kept working away and sticking at it."

Merritt closed his season-low round with an eagle at the 531-yard ninth hole, where he hit his approach to 16 feet and made the putt. He had birdied four of the previous six holes.

Wallace finished on the same par 5 later in the day, and saved par after driving into a native area and then chunking a shot from there to under a bridge.

Hometown favorite Jordan Spieth , the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 20, shot a 70 to finish at 4-under 138 and miss the cut by two strokes. On the 16th, his wayward drive ricocheted off the elbow of a male spectator back into the fairway. He still bogeyed the hole, then parred his last two.

Defending champion Jason Day closed his round with a 35-foot par putt for a 70, and was just on the cut line at 6-under 136.

Knapp's only bogey through the first two rounds was on his 12th hole Friday, the dogleg No. 3, where his drive went into the left rough. But he birdied four of his last six holes, that stretch starting with a 32-foot putt at the par-3, 192-yard fourth hole.

"Obviously, a putt you're not trying to make," he said. "Hit it a little bit harder than I would've liked and luckily it was on a good line and went in."

Knapp, who turns 30 on May 31, lost his card on the developmental Korn Ferry Tour before taking the part-time job in the fall of 2021 at the place in Costa Mesa, California, where for nearly nine months he worked Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights - often until 2 or 3 a.m. The former UCLA player would practice and go to the gym in between his work shifts.

He got his third win on PGA Tour Canada in August 2022, and last year earned his PGA Tour card by finishing the season 13th on the Korn Ferry Tour. He won the Mexico Open in his fifth start this season, and his ninth overall, including two as an amateur in 2015.

His PGA Tour biography also touts that he can solve a Rubik's Cube, loves to work out and would pursue a career in the fitness industry if he wasn't playing golf.

"Yeah, few interesting ones about me," Knapp said. "I do my best to, I'm kind of a golf-only guy. Just play a lot of golf and practice a lot. That's been my focus for the last four, five years."

At TPC Craig Ranch north of Dallas, Knapp hit 16 of 18 greens each of the first two rounds. He also had the same number of putts (28) both days, though the combined distance of those shots on the greens went from 75 feet on Thursday to 139 feet on Friday.

"For the most part hitting it pretty solid and keeping in the right areas. Made it relatively easy on myself." Knapp said. "Early on in the year felt like I was putting well, and for the last month or so the stroke felt the same and ball wasn't going in the hole. ... Nice to see a few more going in."

Merritt opened his round with consecutive birdies before a three-putt bogey at No. 12, though he got that stroke right back with a 52-foot chip-in at No. 13. He made only his second cut in his past six tournaments, and finished 67th in the other one.

"It's fantastic, especially when you hit the ball solid and making a lot putts," said Merritt, who is in his 331st PGA Tour event and last won in 2018. "You're not accidentally there. You've actually played well to get there. I haven't done that. I've accidently back-doored a couple top 10s last fall."

Scottie Scheffler not in field for Wells Fargo Championship

Every PGA Tour member eligible to play in next week's Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina, has committed to compete in the signature event with a $20 million purse except one -- world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler .

Scheffler, who has won four of his past five starts, including The Players and Masters , wasn't included in the Wells Fargo Championship field released by the PGA Tour on Friday.

Scheffler and his wife, Meredith, are awaiting the birth of their first child.

During last month's Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, Scheffler was repeatedly asked about whether he would leave if his wife went into labor. After winning his second green jacket in three years with a 4-stroke victory over Ludvig Åberg , Scheffler acknowledged that his life was about to change.

"I will go home, soak in this victory tonight," Scheffler said. "I will definitely enjoy the birth of my first child. But with that being said, I still love competing. My priorities will change here very soon. My son or daughter will now be the main priority, along with my wife, so golf will now be probably fourth in line.

"But I still love competing. I don't plan on taking my eye off the ball anytime soon, that's for sure."

Scheffler also won in his last start at the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, on April 22.

Scheffler might not make his next start until the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, on May 16-19. He tied for second, 2 strokes behind winner Brooks Koepka , in the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.

The FedExCup Playoffs brings unique drama in professional golf, with a starting field of 70 players whittled down to one FedExCup champion.

The Playoffs kicks off at the 70-player FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, followed by the 50-player BMW Championship at Olympia Fields Country Club outside Chicago.

The final 30 players remaining will proceed to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta for the TOUR Championship, which features a Starting Strokes format to reward the highest-ranked players on the season-long FedExCup standings, a cumulative race but with quadruple points awarded at the first two Playoffs events.

The player with the lowest score after 72 holes at East Lake, handicapped by Starting Strokes, will earn the FedExCup title.

What’s the FedExCup?

The 2022-23 PGA TOUR Season marks the 17th edition of the FedExCup, a season-long points competition which culminates with the FedExCup Playoffs, a series of three events to determine the FedExCup champion.

The 2022-23 PGA TOUR Regular Season featured 47 official FedExCup events beginning with the 2022 Fortinet Championship and running through the 2023 Wyndham Championship. TOUR members earn FedExCup points based on their finish at each tournament, with an emphasis placed on wins and high finishes.

The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings are eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs with the three events featuring a progressive cut with fields of 70, 50 and 30 players.

The first two FedExCup Playoffs events, the FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship, each offer quadruple points (2,000 points to the winner) compared to a standard Regular Season event (500 points to the winner).

The FedExCup Playoffs finale, the TOUR Championship, features FedExCup Starting Strokes, a staggered, strokes-based system that represents the final FedExCup standings, recognizing players for their Regular Season performance as well as their play in the first two FedExCup Playoffs events.

The total bonus pool for the FedExCup Playoffs is $75 million, with the FedExCup champion earning $18 million.

What’s at stake?

Here’s a closer look at what players are competing for during the FedExCup Playoffs and what’s at stake each week.

Note: In the event an eligible player is unable or chooses not to play, the field will be shortened and no alternates will be added. There are no cuts in FedExCup Playoffs events.

The top 70 in the FedExCup standings after the Wyndham Championship are guaranteed of retaining top-125 status for the following season. That status makes them exempt for all Full-Field Events and gives them a spot in THE PLAYERS.

Players who advanced to the FedEx St. Jude Championship but did not qualify for the BMW Championship – i.e. Nos. 51-70 in the FedExCup – will carry FedExCup points earned in the Regular Season and at the FedEx St. Jude Championship into the FedExCup Fall.

In the Fall, those players will try to earn one of the 10 spots available in next season’s first two Signature Events after The Sentry. Those spots will go to the top 10 players in the final FedExCup standings (after The RSM Classic) who are not yet exempt for those two Signature Events.

Making it to the BMW Championship carries the utmost importance for 2024.

Those who advance to the BMW Championship are guaranteed access to all Signature Events for 2024. Each Signature Event will feature approximately 70-80 of the TOUR’s top players competing for elevated purses and increased FedExCup points.

The eight Signature Events are as follows:

• The Sentry (Jan. 1-7) • AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Jan. 29-Feb. 4) • The Genesis Invitational (Feb. 12-18) • Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard (March 4-10) • RBC Heritage (April 15-21) • Wells Fargo Championship (May 6-12) • the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (June 3-9) • Travelers Championship (June 17-23)

The Sentry, which will serve as the season-opener in 2024, previously invited tournament winners and players who qualified for the TOUR Championship. Tournament winners in 2023 are still exempt for the 2024 Sentry, as well.

Under the Starting Strokes format, the TOUR Championship features a staggered start based on players’ standing in the FedExCup.

Qualifying for the TOUR Championship carries a two-year exemption on TOUR. It also brings an invitation to the 2024 Masters and traditionally has carried exemptions into the U.S. Open and The Open, as well (those tournaments have yet to announce their exemption criteria for 2024).

The FedExCup champion receives a five-year TOUR exemption.

The player who finishes atop the TOUR Championship leaderboard is the FedExCup champion. Finishing first at East Lake brings an $18 million FedExCup Bonus. The runner-up receives $6.5 million, and everyone at East Lake earns at least $500,000.

TOUR Championship and FedExCup Starting Strokes

At the TOUR Championship, the player with the lowest stroke total over 72 holes when combined with his FedExCup Starting Strokes will be named FedExCup champion. He will also receive an official victory at the TOUR Championship.

The FedExCup points leader after the first two Playoffs events will begin the TOUR Championship at 10-under par. The No. 2 player will start at 8-under. The No. 3 player starts at 7-under; the No. 4 player starts at 6-under; the No. 5 player starts at 5-under. Players 6-10 start at 4-under; players 11-15 start at 3-under; players 16-20 start at 2-under; players 21-25 start at 1-under; and players 26-30 start at even par.

In the event there are tied players at any position going into the TOUR Championship, tied players will be awarded the same number of Starting Strokes for Round 1. For example, if two players are tied for second position, both players would start at 8 under and the No. 4 player would start at 6 under.

Any professional that is qualified for the TOUR Championship but unable to participate will not be awarded Starting Strokes, and Starting Stroke positions for the remaining players will not be reallocated. Any professional who is unable to play, is disqualified or withdraws for any reason will finish in last position for the TOUR Championship.

The pga tour's 2023 champion will be crowned this week in atlanta.

A season that began last September with more than 150 hopeful PGA Tour members wraps this week at the 2023 Tour Championship with the game's 30 best players still eligible to win the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the $18 million share that comes with finishing atop Sunday's leaderboard. Those golfers continue to trek across East Lake Golf Club for the postseason finale, and it's a field filled with stars, up-and-comers and veterans all looking for one last shot at glory.

That star-studded field was led by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who captured 14 top-five finishes across 23 starts this season -- including wins at the WM Phoenix Open and The Players Championship. Scheffler entered the Tour Championship for the second straight year in pole position at 10 under but fell behind by a single stroke after 18 holes and even further back as the tournament has continued onward.

Scheffler now sits far behind Viktor Hovland, who took a commanding 54-hole lead and is battling at the top with Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Jon Rahm, among others. Morikawa set the stage for low scoring with a 61 on Thursday and broke Tiger Woods' 36-hole record with a 125 through the first two rounds. Still, Hovland's consistent play -- continuing his hot streak from last week's BMW Championship -- has made him a commanding favorite entering the final round.
