Great location, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Lovely restaurant attached to hotel with very friendly staff. Staff on hotel reception also very helpful

The location was good for us as it was close to the motorway and we were travelling to Spain from Calais. The room was clean and tidy as was the bathroom.

Great location for travelling to spain ,close to motorways and places to eat around and about, theres a bar and restaurant, dogs allowed,

Location was excellent. Staff, particularly the receptionist were ultra helpful

It was pet friendly, and my dog was allowed into the bar/restaurant with me.

This hotel is so convenient for getting on and off the motorway. We have stayed here about 6 times now with our 2 dogs. The dogs are made so welcome, with toys and food bowls in the room. Restaurant great for evening meal and breakfast always fresh, lots of choice and tasty. Staff always very welcoming and friendly.

The Maginot Line - Sedan Ardennes:

It is a common misconception that the Maginot Line did not extend past the France/Luxemburg border. The Maginot Line certainly extends to Sedan and indeed further - right to the English Channel. In the Sedan area of France there are many Blockhouses of various types and even Ouvrages which still remain and provide a fascinating insight into what were at the time, revolutionary concepts, designed and implemented to defend France, with the use of state-of-the-art technology to achieve this goal. It is only after you have visited the Maginot Line that you become aware of the sheer scale and complexity of the undertaking. This, coupled with Sedan’s unique place in 19th and 20th century history, make Sedan and the surrounding region, a fascinating and thought provoking area to visit.

When Hitler was first informed of the German Army’s success in crossing the river Meuse at Sedan, he is reported to have exclaimed: “It is a miracle. It is a miracle”.

This was perhaps a reason why we had, I would say, a VIP excursion just for our family as no other visitor arrived. The staff is incredibly friendly. Though the guide didn't speak English, he was very patient trying to speak slowly and understand our questions in our "broken" French. We had our own personal tour guide for the 2 of us. Seeing the fort and all of the tunnels and work that went in building this static defence was eye opening. The fact that the Maginot line was used into the 1950's as part of the cold war defence was also news to me. A great piece of preserved history well worth visiting. I had a nice time there with very friendly and knowledgeable guide leading us through the whole fortress complex, providing a lot of history facts connected to Maginot line fortification. • Intelligenthamster 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Very interesting visit and helpful staff I visited Michelsberg while on a long weekend looking at the Maginot Line. The tours are in French but they do have a written version of the script in English which we were given and so we didn’t miss out. The fort is very wet in places and this coupled with the constant temperature means that it is cold inside- you will want a jumper or fleece no matter how hot it is outside. Michelsberg is being restored gradually by a team of dedicated volunteers and one of the generators is now in working order, which was started up for us and impressive to see. There are two small defensive positions with weapons which you see near the start of the tour, which gives you some idea of how the fighting blocks were kitted out. The sneaky little grenade launching tubes are quite interesting! The kitchens have been restored but are not set-dressed, although there are some real jars of pickled foods in the store. Asides from the generator the star exhibit on the tour is the gun which has been removed from a turret and is being worked on in a side bay, so you can get right up to it and see it from all angles while the guide shows you how it works. The climb up to the upper gun is up a steep staircase and is not suitable for all, but well worth doing if you can. The guide was very enthusiastic and took some time afterwards to answer our questions. Read more Written September 2, 2014

This Ibis is well located for our journey through France to Spain. Perfect for a stopover. We our dogs with us and they were made to feel extremely welcome. The menu in the restaurant is limited but there are many eateries near by. Breakfast is good with a variety of continental and eggs. All In all a good stay

Often considered to be the most beautiful metro system in the world, it is also one of the busiest. The first Metro line, the Red line, was opened in 1935. It had just 13 stations, and ran between Gorky Park and Sokolniky Park. The Moscow Metro now has more than 210 stations.

Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
