After posting my Tour Pack Pickup/Install/Review video , the #1 question asked was, “What exactly were the pain points in the install itself?”  I had glossed over the install since I didn’t actually film it (to be honest, I was just too frustrated to worry about cameras and such, and it took me far too long to figure it out).

Well, since the question was asked, I figured I’d take the parts back off the bike (which isn’t too difficult) and explain things further.  This turned into a sort of step-by-step installation video of the Tour Pack, so sit back & watch where I struggled!

I got one of those. Great for emergency phone charging.  

I use one too. Then I zip-tied a phone charging cord under the tank up to the phone mount on the bars so my phone is always charged. I like to use the FP3 engine monitor function on longer rides and it sucks the battery down fast.  

Cannot see the items that you all have suggested can you please repost?  

I know, an old Thread I have one of the pigtail to USB converters, what I can find on the standard 2019 Fat Boy USB port is its 1A 5v via the Net, nothing in the manual They recommend 2a to charge a Go Pro, 3a even better Curious what it would be plugged into battery Tender plug ? From what I see online it could be 5a ? To much ? I am thinking a battery charger should be plugged into the USB port, which will then charge the battery at the correct rate  

The circuit will only provide what the resistance draws. You could plug your phone into a USB port capable of delivering 500 amps and it wouldn't hurt the phone. The USB port outputs 5V. Whether it is a factory port or an aftermarket, there are electronics in it to step it down from the system voltage. That would prevent it from allowing it to charge the battery. You'd fry the voltage regulator in it. USB-C (the new one that looks different) is USB 3.x and is bi-directional, but that is not what we are talking about. It still would not let 12V flow through it backwards. If the output of the USB is limited to 1 amp, it is because of the limitations of the power supply/regulator/converter electronics in the USB unit. It wouldn't matter what you powered it with.  

Just finished mine usb port instead of disconnecting the positive battery terminal I just snipped an end off the round connector and slipped it in just loosening the positive and grounding on the same side

Ideas on installing 12v power outlet in my tourpack?

I'd like to get a 12 volt power outlet (cigarette lighter) installed into my tourpack for charging the cell phone on long trips. Anyone know of a product made for this, or have an idea on how to do it? Thanks!  

I went to PepBoys and bought one of those three socket units and attached it to the liner with pop rivets. You can use what ever you want, screws, nuts and bolts. I ran the wires with an inline fuse under the liner and tapped into the wire for the tour pack light. Works great. I can charge my cell phone, PDA, MP3, and GPS when I am on the road.  

I went a different route. My power outlet is mounted to the right rear speaker pod. I wanted access to it without opening the tourpak. I put my laptop/cell phone in the Tourpak and run the cord out to the outlet. Heated stuff, coffee maker, DVD player all can be plugged in during flight this way.:thumbsup: Got to outlet from Walmart I think and it is wired into the Aux. connector under the seat. All together costs were less than $20!! Brad  

If you want something that won't rust marine stores have stainless steel cigarette lighter sockets.  

powerlet I use the tank bag connector from powerlet. See "The PowerMate Kit - PTB-001" at http://www.powerletproducts.com/products/ptb.php . Scroll down to item two. I used a hole saw, on the bottom of the tour pak and then mounted this connector. I bought one of the bundled packages (see item four) I connected one of the SAE cables and leave it coiled in the left side cover when the tour pak is off. When the tour pak is on I run the cable behind the frame/chrome cover and up to the bottom of the tour pak. Inside I use one of the adapters from the SAE connection to cigar outlets. One is for my GPS and the other is for cell phone, flash light etc as needed. One day I might get an intercom/stereo box and mount it in the tourpak also. bb

91823-10 for just the power outlet. This is all you need if you have a FLTRU which already has the power cable running into the tour pak ($25) 91671-10 for the complete kit including power harness and fuse to connect to the battery ($50). This is for those that don't have an FLTRU with the factory installed power wiring  

I did this install and really made a sloppy hole for the outlet (think Jack the Ripper). My brother says nobody sees it but me, but I hate the way it looks. I was thinking a template from the MoCo would make it easier. I asked the local shop and they said they just wing it, too. While looking at your picture of the hole from outside the tour-pak liner, I realized the way to do this perfectly without trial-and-error would be to mark the holes that the outlet mounts to on the outside of liner from the outside of the tour pak when the speaker pod is off. Then scribe outline of power outlet and carve tourpak away until outlet fits in hole from the outside while preserving alignment of the mounting bolt marks and the holes on the power outlet bracket. It's $80 but I think I'm going to order another liner and try to get it better. Yours looks great!  

If you can order a liner see if you can get the Limited liner as this might already have this hole cut out for you... I found a dremel and a sanding wheel was the easiest way to fine tune the cut out when I installed mine.  

I just poked two small holes with a screwdriver and secured with a plastic wire tie...

it would be nice Great job on the documentation, I did the very same install on my '07 Ultra a couple of years ago. It seems this option is becoming more popular since we are all having to charge our cell phones or iPads. It would be nice if the MoCo would make the area in the tour pack liner a punch out piece now. I struggled with mine and in the end the cutout was bigger than needed. No going back on that one. My new bike came with one already installed. That was nice.  

Which bike did you get that the outlet was in there already? I had the dealer install it at no charge and they did a botch job. Then the next dealership dis a swrcixw which the liner had to be removed and they broke the liner some more taking it out. Love to have a nicer looking cutout if possible.  

Good detail thanks! My shop only carries the 91671-10, with wires and fuse. After dinner thought I could drop this in before the ride in the morning. Plug in the cord to the wire just on the inside of the tour pak. No power! Turn on the ignition, No power! check the connection with multimeter...No power! follow the wire into the maze under the seat, No power! double check instructions for the third time. No details, wiring is too short to run across back of the tour pak... Seat, Bags, side panels are off, can't find a open 4 connection plug anywhere, for the new wire & fuse to plug into, so I must be connected to the right plug, but No FREAKIN power! No Patience either! Check the fuses, everything is fine, no blown fuses. Remove the outlet then rebox the entire contents, return to the dealer, tell them it doesn't work. Offered a replacement, but I decline explaining that my wiring harness is screwed up. Today, I read this connection in the TourPak is controlled by a "Accessory" switch, mounted on the triple tree??? WTF, Is this for real? Does anyone know of a any other mfgr that puts a switch on a lighter outlet? :-( I think on the way home I will hit O'Reilly's pick up an outlet and wire it direct to the battery.... And order a new tourpak liner!!! Gee Wiz!  

I tried to tap into those wires for the DC power connector to power a bike alert system I found out that you had to have the aux on to get power but I still can't get any power. Checked fuses and everything seems to be ok, it may have been the way I taped in. I use the Tap It, however this is the first time I've ever used these basically there's a piece that comes off and goes over the wire and then another piece with a. That pierces the wire when you screw it back on to the other part of the connector and then you slide the top connector through the wire and then tight knit on to the posi tap. Sounded simple enough but maybe I'll need to cut and solder and see if I can get voltage then. I cannot seem to find them anything that will plug into that adapter and give me a positive and negative.I want to hook up the bike alert system in the rear side of the tour pack basically trying to do it quick and easy but its not going that way lol  

I have a t/p spoiler and I tapped off that power wire to it. The harness is from the detach t/p kit. Good luck.  

Hmmmm . . . I just plugged in to mine and it worked fine. Crazy question. Did you check the fuse? The plug in the tour pack is on a separate circuit from the P&A Circuit.

My question to you or anyone else is on my 2011 Ultra, I have the plug in the TP and one under the seat where the 12 volt directions say to connect it. If I plug it into the connector under the seat, I use the extension which has a fuse in it and works by the accessories switch. If I use the connector in the TP, is there a fuse somewhere in the line? I noticed that this way, the socket is hot when the ignition switch is on and the accessories switch doesn't matter. Thans

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

60 rides - 1900 RUB

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

SamsungPay, ApplePay and PayPass cards.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

There are also signs on the platfrom. They will help you to havigate yourself. (To the lines 3 and 5 in this case).
