TOM Cruise's daughter Suri Cruise has been spotted on the streets of Manhattan looking like a full-blown adult.

The 17-year-old was seen in New York's Soho while walking with some friends.

Suri is the daughter of actors Tom Cruise , 60, and Katie Holmes , 44.

She was wearing a black tank top and a knee-length denim skirt which gave early 2000s vibes.

She paired it with several silver bracelets and a black string choker necklace that had a large silver flower on it.

On her feet were black sneakers and tall white socks that were scrunched down at her ankles.

In August 2021, Katie and her lookalike daughter turned heads as they stepped out in New York City .

It was hard to miss that her daughter had a striking similarity to her actress mom in the early days of her career.

With her tall frame and long dark locks, the teen looked just like Katie when she starred in Dawson's Creek over 20 years ago.

Katie starred as Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek from 1998 to 2003, joining the show as a fresh-faced 18-year-old.

On their Friday outing, Katie kept it casual in a cream T-shirt tucked into white pants. Suri wore red shorts and cropped tank top.

Enjoying her evening stroll with her only child, Katie affectionately played with her daughter's brunette tresses while they waited for a crosswalk to turn green.

FATHER-DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP

Suri has reportedly not seen  Top Gun  star Tom in more than a decade after her mom divorced him when she was five.

Katie gained sole custody of Suri in 2012, along with a generous settlement that has Tom paying a reported £325,000 a year for his daughter’s care.

After the split, Katie took Suri to New York which was 2,400 miles away from LA -based Tom.

The actor has been accused of putting his religion before his daughter, with ex-Scientologists claiming he has been ordered to shun Katie and Suri as non-believers.

High-profile former church member Samantha Domingo, daughter-in-law of opera singer Placido, spoke about the religion in 2019.

She said, “You can’t be anti- Scientology if you’re part of Tom’s family, you will be disconnected — look at his daughter Suri.”

She added that the church, which believes mankind is descended from an alien race of gods, viewed Suri “as a spiritual being in Tom’s daughter’s body”.

Born on April 18, 2006, Suri Cruise is Katie Holmes and megastar Tom Cruise's only child together. After her parents divorced in June 2012, Suri was primarily raised by her mother in New York City. Holmes ensured her daughter's life was kept private and out of the spotlight, with the actor telling  Town & Country  in 2017, "It's very important that I'm present and she has a stable, innocent childhood." Although Suri has been called the spitting image of her father, the latest shot of the teen proves otherwise. In 2023, Suri turned 17, and it's clear that as she's gotten older, she's become  Holmes' mini-me .

Like her mother, the photos above show that Holmes' daughter, Suri Cruise, has no problem flaunting a relaxed look. With dark sweatpants and a red T-shirt, Cruise looks like an average teen rather than someone with two of the world's most famous parents. 

However, these are not the only similar outfits the two have rocked. In December 2022, Holmes wore a Y2K-inspired outfit on the red carpet that featured a mini dress over jeans and sneakers. Months later, Cruise was pictured wearing a long denim skirt with black sneakers that screamed throwback. In 2023, the mother and daughter looked more like sisters while wearing laid-back airport outfits, per  Page Six . The pair wore sweats and sweaters paired with dark shoes. Despite dressing lowkey, both Holmes and Cruise are known to be fashionistas, and the teen reportedly plans to study fashion.

Katie Holmes is celebrating her mini-me daughter Suri Cruise 's birthday with some rare pictures.

To celebrate her daughter turning 15 on Sunday, Holmes, who is famously private about the teen, posted three Instagram photos of Suri taken throughout the years. Homes shares the teen with ex-husband Tom Cruise , to whom she was married from 2006 to 2012.

In one of the pictures, Holmes cradles her look-alike daughter in arms. In another, Suri smiles for the camera while giving mom a big hug.

"Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!!" Holmes wrote in the caption. "I can’t believe you are already 15!"

Other stars gushed over the cute photos in the comments.

"Happy birthday," commented Viola Davis, adding a heart emoji.

"Happy happy 15th!!" wrote "Good Witch" star Bailee Madison. "Can’t believe she is 15 now. All my love to you both"

Though Holmes is known for keeping her daughter out of the spotlight, the "Dawson's Creek" star, 42, opened up about bonding with Suri during the coronavirus pandemic  in her November cover story for Vogue Australia .

"Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be," she wrote. "To listen. To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift."

The 44-year-old actress leads a notoriously private life with Suri, only occasionally speaking out about their relationship in the years since her split from Tom Cruise. Suri's early life was well documented in the press, thanks to the spotlight on her famous parents.

Katie recently adressed the fame and attention Suri garnered at a young age, a dmitting that it is because Suri spent her childhood in the spotlight that she has opted to keep her out of the public eye as a teenager.

"What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her," the star told  Glamour.   "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

Her comments echo those made to  Town & Country Magazine   in 2017, where she spoke of stepping away from the limelight to focus on parenting.

When did Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise get married?

Katie and Tom's whirlwind romance was the stuff of Hollywood tabloid dreams. The  Dawson's Creek star had a well-known crush on the actor; just five months before meeting Tom she told  Seventeen magazine " I think every little girl dreams about (her wedding). I used to think I was going to marry Tom Cruise."

The couple were spotted on their first date in Rome in April 2005, just weeks after meeting to "discuss a role related to the new  Mission: Impossible  movie."

They welcomed their daughter Suri one year later in April 2006, before tying the knot in November later that year. Just five years later, their love had fizzled out and they divorced in record time in 2012 (she filed for divorce on June 29, the proceedings were over by July 9).

Why did Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise get divorced

Tom was reportedly blindsided by Katie, who filed for divorce "without warning" and left him "deeply saddened" - according to his publicist. Katie's publicist emphasised she was doing what she thought was in Suri's "best interests." 

"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," her lawyer Jonathan Wolfe told   People   magazine at the time. "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."

Citing "irreconcilable differences," Katie filed for divorce in the state of New York. It's reported that she believed she would have a "better chance" of gaining sole custody of Suri by filing on the East Coast. It was widely reported that Katie wanted New York  apartment, Tom was said to still have access to significant custodial time with his daughter.

Following their brief divorce proceedings, Katie's lawyer said: "We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life. We thank Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution."

Katie and Tom tied the knot in 2006.

Does Tom Cruise have a relationship with daughter Suri?

In 2013, a year after the split, Tom sued a magazine for a story that claimed he had abandoned Suri. In a deposition regarding the story,  Tom was asked if his ties to Scientology had played a part in Katie's decision to file for divorce. T om replied: "Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes." He  also confirmed Suri was no longer a member of the Scientology Church at that time. 

Throughout the trial, Tom also c onfirmed that he had not seen Suri for several months immediately following the split.

“Listen, when there is a divorce… things change,” he said.  “ And it’s more complicated, as everyone know when that is, when that occurs, and there are certain agreements; now you have to ask for permission and organize schedules to make things happen. So it wasn’t — it’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”

It was later reported by InTouch Magazine in 2016 that the actor hadn't seen or spoken to his youngest child in more than 1,000 days (over two-and-a-half years).

“They used to Skype and text, but that trailed off drastically,” a source told InTouch at the time.

The most recent update from  Page Six  claims that Tom plays "no part" in Suri's life - though he still pays his child support bills. The publication claimed he still pays a large child-support sum of US$400,000 and will continue to do so until she turns 18.

Despite the tabloid speculation, little is known about the actual inner workings of their relationship.

While Tom has not commented on their father-daughter relationship in some time, Katie has occasionally broken her silence on their private lives...

Inside Kate & Suri's close relationship

In the first few years following their divorce, Katie rarely addressed their ill-fated romance or her family life without Tom. She briefly mentioned her love of her daughter in a few interview snippets in 2014. 

​​"I didn't know how much love I had in me. It's overwhelming," she said in an August 2014 interview with  Glamour . "Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of."

"The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and that her accomplishments mean everything. Whatever I do is whatever. It's really just about her and that's what I think is most important," she said on The Today Show later that month.

"Motherhood means everything to me," she told  People Magazine later that year. "I'm learning every day, and I have been since the minute I became a mom.

"My main goal is to just let her know how much I love her," she said. "Just to let her know that she is so loved. When that's the through line, who cares that my first two pancakes are always burned?

"Between tickle fights and glitter art, I try to throw in some manners along the way. I try to have good manners too, so that's what she sees. I also try to be very creative with her, because I know she's an artist, and that speaks to the girl in me," she said.

"Motherhood means everything to me," Katie has said.

Katie told  People that she relied on her mother, Kathleen Stothers-Holmes, and her close girlfriends to get through life as a newly single mother.

"I lean on them. For advice, for recipes, for all of that stuff: 'What am I supposed to do? Can you come over and watch? Can you be a helping hand?' And I do have help, yes, but … it's your baby, you know? You want to be the one who is there," she told the publication.

She also acknowledged that she questions "am I enough?" and "am I doing enough?" on a regular basis. 

"You do the best you can. Some days you feel really good about yourself and some days you don't," she tells People . " Motherhood has taught me to just let go of some things, to relinquish control. I've had to learn to ask myself, 'Is this worth it? Is it going to make her smile?' And if it is, then yeah, we're probably gonna do it. Maybe that means dinner at 8 instead of 6, and a snack in between. Fine.

"Things don't have to happen a certain way. I think we all need to ease up on the expectations. We're all trying to do the best we can. Motherhood taught me that."

Katie relied on her close loved ones as she navigated becoming a single parent.

Inside Suri Cruise's life now...

As Suri continued to grow through her teens, Katie kept her out of the spotlight save for a few comments here and there.

"I love her so much," she   told   InStyle   in April 2020. "My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident and able. And to know it. She came out very strong — she's always been a strong personality."

In November 2020, she told  Vogue Australia the pandemic had further shaped their close relationship.

"Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be. To listen," she said.

"To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift."

Katie has revealed that life in the pandemic strengthened their bond.

In an interview with  Variety in 2023, Katie offered one last glimpse into their home life. She shared that they were watching the iconic  Dawon's Creek together, reliving her years as Joey Potter.

"She has seen   Dawson's Creek,   and I think it's probably weird since she's a teenager. I'm not like, 'You need to watch mommy's work.' But during the pandemic, we had a good laugh about it," she said. "It's wild to have a daughter who's almost the same age as I was when I began all this."

Katie Holmes Shares Rare Update About Daughter Suri Cruise On Her 17th Birthday

Suri Cruise is 17 now, and we feel very old.

The high-profile relationship of her parents  Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes made Suri’s birth in April 2006 one of the most publicised celebrity events of the entire noughties. 

Thanks to the soaring public profiles of her celebrity parents, their whirlwind romance, and their relationship with Scientology, Suri’s childhood was a constant point of fascination for tabloids and a hungry public. 

As a toddler, Suri became a fashion icon, drumming up controversy for wearing baby heels and handbags to style-out her designer outfits. 

However, after Cruise and Holmes separated in 2012, Suri and Holmes took a large step back from the spotlight. While Holmes inched back into headlines for her relationships and various professional moves over the years, Suri has not yet returned to the public eye.  

So, where is the world’s most recognisable celebrity baby now?

As of April 2023, Suri Cruise was still living mostly away from the spotlight.  However, with an apparent knack for singing, it seems Suri may one day make a return.

Suri Cruise recently leant her vocals to two of mum’s film soundtracks. The 17-year-old performed ‘Blue Moon’ for the soundtrack of the 2022 film  Alone Together , and has sung yet-to-be-released tracks for Holmes’ latest directing project, Rare Objects .

According to the Daily Mail , Suri is reportedly applying for college to study fashion.

While a source said Suri was “applying for schools all over the place”, they also divulged that Holmes would prefer she stay close to home in New York City. 

In her interview with Glamour , Holmes confessed a continued desire to protect her daughter.

“What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” she said. “I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.”

Suri and Holmes are frequently sighted together around New York, and reportedly quarantined together at their home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Does Tom Cruise see Suri Cruise?

According to recent reports from Page Six , Tom Cruise does not have a relationship with his daughter. 

Sources say he has not seen Suri in a decade, with their last meeting thought to be in 2013, around a year after Cruise’s split from Holmes.

It is rumoured Cruise’s Church of Scientology prohibits him from seeing “non-believers”, which includes Suri and Holmes. Holmes’ choice to leave the faith is reportedly part of the reason behind the pair’s divorce.

TMZ previously reported that the divorce settlement required Tom to pay child support of USD $400,000 (approx. AU $) per year until Suri is 18.

Holmes marked her daughter's 15th birthday with an adoring tribute on Instagram, complete with new (old) photos of Cruise. Holmes has largely kept photos of her daughter off social media, so the tribute is a very rare look into Cruise's life with Holmes.

“Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!! ❤️💕😘 I can’t believe you are already 15!” Holmes wrote to Cruise. She shared a carousel of photos, featuring two of Cruise and Holmes hugging.

“It’s been nice that our ages fit… how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together,” Holmes said.

She later added that yes, she, like most other parents, worries about the world Cruise is taking in. When asked if she's concerned about her teenage daughter being subject to bad influences, Holmes responded, “Doesn’t every parent? But, yes, of course I’m worried. There is so much bad news and hate and things that don’t make sense… The atmosphere around the world is… terrifying.”

Suri Cruise, 17, is spitting image of mom Katie Holmes as she enjoys solo walk in NYC

Time flies!  Tom Cruise and  Katie Holmes ' daughter Suri is 17 and making her mark on New York City as she was pictured strolling through the vibrant SoHo district solo. 

The teen looked effortlessly cool in a pair of baggy cargo jeans  and black sneakers, with a gray sweater, oversized patterned scarf and olive green puffer jacket. 

Walking on her own, the teen – who turns 18 on April 18, 2024 – appeared to be enjoying a takeaway snack from a white box, as she made her way around the neighborhood, located south of Chelsea, where it is believed she lives with mom Katie in a $12,000 a month apartment. 

Katie and Suri  moved to the city from Los Angeles after Katie's divorce from Suri's father, Tom, and she has previously revealed that they have settled comfortably into a life there, with friends and supportive neighbors. 

"So many people I didn't know became my friends and helped us out,” Katie disclosed to InStyle  in 2022, sharing a story of how a cab driver was once kind enough to help her when Suri was only six or seven. 

"She was spending the night at a friend's house while I was seeing the ballet at Lincoln Center,” Katie explained. "At 10 o'clock I got a call: 'Mommy, can you come get me?' I got a cab and went down to Battery Park to pick her up. She was exhausted. She fell asleep on the way home, and when we pulled up to our building, the cab driver opened the door and helped me not wake her. He helped carry her to the building. He was so kind.” 

"What I love about New York is that for me and my child, this is our vibe," she continued. 

"New York has been very good to both of us. I love the theater, the galleries in my neighborhood. Stuff [like] that is so much of what makes me love this city. I love the Knicks. I love talking to my neighbors in the elevator. I like feeling a part of something big," she later told  E! News . 

Suri now reportedly attended Avenues school in Manhattan, a private school that costs $65,850 for the 2023-2024 year, according to their website. However, she is estranged from her father, Mission: Impossible star Tom, reportedly due to his Scientology beliefs. 

During a $50 million suit deposition in 2012 against Bauer Media, Tom was questioned if Katie had left the actor "in part to protect Suri from Scientology", and Tom replied: "That was one of the assertions, yes."

Members of the church are not allowed to associate with non-believers.

But it seems that Suri is still planning to follow in her parents footsteps,  as she featured in her mom's directorial debut, Alone Together, singing a cover of 'Blue Moon' in the opening credits for the film , which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022.

"She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it and I let her do her thing," Katie later told Yahoo.

Where Is Suri Cruise Now?

Tom Cruise was a total stranger to Katie Holmes when the Mission: Impossible star asked to meet her about a role in his blockbuster spy franchise. The part never materialized, but Holmes walked away from that meeting in April 2005 with a much bigger prize — Cruise's heart. The smitten actor declared his love for Holmes in cringe-worthy fashion during a now infamous appearance on Oprah , and then just eight weeks after their first meeting, Cruise proposed to Holmes in Paris, surprising her with a diamond ring during a fancy meal at the Eiffel Tower.

Holmes dreamed about marrying Cruise for a long time. Through his attorney, Tom declared that he was "concentrating on his three children " in the wake of the shocking split, but the A-lister allegedly fell out of touch with his youngest child in the years that followed. She's allegedly been writing her dad in secret

In September 2017, a source close to Tom Cruise's camp told  InTouch magazine the actor allegedly hadn't seen his daughter in years. "Tom has moved on to the next phase of his life and he's finishing up his latest movie ," the insider claimed (via Hollywood Life ). "There's no communication and they haven't seen each other. Tom rarely talks about her." 

Reconciliation seemed a long way off at the time, but reports suggest Suri has never given up on mending their relationship. She's allegedly been calling and texting her dad since 2016, apparently without her mother's knowledge. "Suri has been talking to Tom behind Katie's back," an insider told  Star magazine (via NowToLove ). "He looks forward to her texts."

According to RadarOnline , the Top Gun star has been moved by his daughter's efforts to keep in touch. Cruise is reportedly "paving the way to come back into Suri's life permanently," and insiders claim it could happen sooner rather than later. "He's contacted Suri through a third party, who he trusts implicitly, to check in and make sure she's okay," a source alleged in July 2018. "He wants her to know that he's thought of her all this time and that he got all of her messages. In fact, he read and listened to each and every word."

The Church of Scientology may be keeping them apart

Cruise has never publicly addressed the reasons behind his alleged estrangement from his daughter, but the most popular theory is that he cut Suri out of his life after her mother decided to put the Church of Scientology in the rear view mirror. The Hollywood icon is by far the religion's most famous practitioner, and some claim he led by example and exercised the church's controversial "disconnection" policy with his daughter. 

"Tom eats, breathes and sleeps Scientology," a source told  InTouch . "He's disconnected from Katie, and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie."

According to Ron Miscavige, father of Scientology leader David Miscavige, Holmes allegedly reached the end of her tether when members of the religion moved into the family home. "That didn't sit so well with Katie, of course, and it hurt the marriage," Ron told the Daily Mail . "She and Tom had big differences about the way life should be lived. The big issue really was raising Suri as a Scientologist. If that happened, some day it was a possibility that she would disconnect from Katie." (Ron also claims to have been a victim of what he calls a "toxic" disconnection policy.)

In her Scientology tell-all , actress and former member Leah Remini claimed the church believed Suri would be a big part of its future, saying some members looked at her as if she was "L Ron Hubbard incarnate."

Cruise may be bending the 'rigid rule' of the church for her

According to a February 2018 Hollywood Life exclusive, Katie Holmes would love to see her ex-husband follow her example and start prioritizing Suri over his religion. 

"Katie would be thrilled to see Tom leave Scientology, she'd love to see him build a healthy relationship with Suri," a source claimed . "It would be a dream come true actually, but she's not expecting it. She has zero hope that Tom will leave Scientology for Suri. He's made it clear many times over that he's in it for life." But as the global face of Scientology, surely Cruise can bend the rules a little when it comes to his own daughter, right?

The action star left Hollywood for Florida in 2016, relocating to a penthouse apartment just a block from the Church of Scientology's international headquarters. At the time, many assumed the move was based purely on his desire to be closer to the religion's HQ, but according to RadarOnline , he also chose his new pad with Suri in mind. "What he's really doing is setting the stage for a reunion with Suri," a camp insider claimed, alleging that Cruise felt he was unable to reach out sooner because of the strict guidelines Scientologists have to follow when it comes to deserters. "He believes he can bypass the rigid rule," the source added.

She's growing up fast

The news that Tom Cruise is reportedly keen on making amends with his daughter has been welcomed across the board, but Katie Holmes reportedly deserves a lot of credit. Back in 2017, the Batman Begins actress supposedly reached out to her ex "in the hopes of opening a dialogue about resuming contact with Suri," a source told  InTouch . "She truly wants Tom to be a part of Suri's life. Tom is Suri's father, and she wants them to have a relationship."

Cruise has already reportedly missed several milestones in his daughter's life, and he'll end up missing his chance to be a dad to her altogether if he doesn't make time for her soon. "Every day, kids get a little further away from you," Holmes told Town and Country magazine, revealing that she's already dreading the inevitable. "...They should be becoming more independent, but it's heartbreaking. You want them to stay with you forever, but they're these amazing beings, and you have to do everything you can to give them what they need, and then they're going to go. And that's going to be very, very sad for me."

Cruise missed her 12th birthday party

One of the milestones that Cruise reportedly missed was Suri's 12th birthday. His no-show is rumored to have left her heartbroken. According to  Star  magazine (via  Hollywood Life ), Cruise hasn't attended one of Suri's birthday parties since she turned 7. 

"Like any little girl, her greatest wish is for her father to be there, and now she's been disappointed again," an insider told the mag. "That would be painful for any child, and you have to wonder what kind of emotional toll it's taking on Suri... It's so sad!"

Star 's source warned that Cruise's excuses "may not fly" with Suri much longer. "Suri has to be wondering why Tom doesn't come and visit," the insider said. "It seems like the older she gets, the more desperate she must be to see him." 

A source sang the same tune to  InTouch , claiming Suri is now old enough to understand what divorce is and has accepted the fact that she's in a single-parent family. "Tom's been out of their lives for so long, she and Katie have moved on to a life without daddy," the insider said.

She pays no attention to tabloids

She appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair alongside her famous folks when she was just a baby, but Suri has been brought up to be wary of the media. According to her mother, they don't necessarily go out of their way to avoid the press in their day-to-day lives, but they do make a conscious effort to ignore the tabloid stories. "To experience something publicly and privately is a lot for a person to go through," Holmes told Town and Country . "In today's world a lot of celebrities probably shield their children from the tabloids. In my household we know what they print isn't true, so we don't pay attention. There are more important things."

The actress said she can relate to the stresses of dealing with the press at a young age, though she's taught her daughter not to worry about things she can't change. "If people know who you are, they might write about you, and you can't control that," Holmes said. 

Her ex-husband may not agree. Tom Cruise apparently believes that he can control what pictures of Suri appear online, at least when it comes to Facebook. In October 2017, Maryanna Carter (an old friend of the actor and the moderator of a Tom Cruise fan group) relayed a message she claimed came directly from the star, requesting  members stop sharing photos of his daughter with one another.

She looks just like her mom

Suri and her mom have been two peas in a pod for years now. Holmes even caught some heat from the press back in 2009, when a then 3-year-old Suri wore high heels. Holmes defended the decision, claiming they weren't real heels and that Suri only wanted what most daughters want at that age — to be just like mommy. "Like every little girl, she loves my high heels," the actress told Access Hollywood (via the Daily Mail ). "They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids. I found them for her and she loves them."

The older Suri gets, the more like her mother she becomes. The adorable duo made a rare joint appearance at Jingle Ball 2017 (via E! News ), where the two introduced Taylor Swift to a packed Madison Square Garden. Holmes doesn't include Suri in her Instagram uploads often, but when she does, followers are awestruck by just how much they look alike. She was spotted at Pride 2018

Speaking to  Today  in 2015, Katie Holmes said her daughter had become a "very, very generous and very sensitive" girl who loves to give. "She's always [saying], 'Mom, let's give my old toys to people who need it,'" Holmes said (via  People ). "So, we're always doing that." 

If the photos of Suri at Pride 2018 are any indication, this young lady has lost none of that spirit in the years since that interview. The celebrity scion attended the annual New York City Gay Pride Parade, where she and some friends set up a refreshments stand under the supervision of her nanny. She was reportedly selling lemonade for $2 a cup and was also offering Rice Krispie treats. "She was very sweet and kind, telling everyone to enjoy their day and would smile whenever someone walked past," one parade goer told Us Weekly . 

The famous tween appeared to make some serious cash over the course of the day (she was seen stuffing a $50 bill into a plastic box full of dough. People predicted that her profits "could go straight to charity." Her mother has supported a number of nonprofit organizations  over the years, including Global Poverty Project, Save Our Children USA, and UNICEF.

Who's your daddy?

Tom Cruise may be ready to become a father figure to Suri, but some sources claim the position has already been filled . Katie Holmes and Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx have kept their relationship largely out of the press for years, but Holmes indirectly confirmed the relationship when her rep issued a statement calling breakup rumors " 100 percent untrue ."

"There's a definite hole there left by Tom, and Katie does her best to fill it," a source told Hollywood Life . "She's grateful to have Jamie in her life now. He's becoming more and more of a father figure to Suri and she's very grateful for that." 

"Katie is attracted to Jamie partly because he is so caring to her daughter," an insider told  Hollywood Life   in a separate piece . " Jamie treats Suri like one of his own daughters and is always singing silly songs to her and making her laugh and smile. Suri thinks Jamie is really funny and she loves when he is around."

Mom Katie recently gushed about how she loved getting to spend quarantine with her daughter. She’s also, naturally, extremely proud of the strong person she is becoming. “I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality,” she told  ELLE Magazine. “To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it. She came out very strong—she’s always been a strong personality.”

The teen looked so joyful walking around SoHo in New York with her friends, reveling in one of the first sunny days of spring.

“Suri would have been too young to sign any agreement, but she will now be free to talk if she wants to and it’s going to be really interesting if she has something to say,” Tony Ortega, a seasoned Scientology reporter previously said .

“If you are a regular church member you could be told to disconnect from your wife and daughter, but because Tom is a celebrity — he’s the top celebrity — he gets to ignore all this stuff,” Ortega told Page Six . “Your average member would be kicked out, but [the leader of Scientology] David Miscavige can’t do that with Tom.”

So who knows, maybe Cruise will reach out to his estranged daughter on Thursday for her Big Day. And maybe she will have a lot to share with the world.

The mother-daughter duo was photographed at Los Angeles International Airport Monday night ahead of a flight to an unknown destination.

The “Dawson’s Creek” alum, 44, and her 17-year-old mini-me already bear an uncanny resemblance, but they were also dressed alike during the rare outing.

Holmes sported a dark gray sweatshirt atop a white T-shirt, which she pared with black sweatpants, Adidas sneakers, and an orange baseball cap.

The actress completed her look with a brown purse, opting for no jewelry or makeup.

Meanwhile, Cruise rocked a light gray zip-up hoodie, white joggers, black sneakers, and a canvas tote slung over her shoulder — just like her mama.

Holmes spoke about her desire to keep her teenager safe in an unusually personal interview earlier this month.

“What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” she told Glamour magazine .

The “Batman Begins” actress went on to describe Cruise as “an incredible person” and said she felt “grateful” to be her mom.

Holmes is likely doubly protective of her only child given her highly publicized and seemingly traumatic divorce from Suri’s dad, Tom Cruise.

A source exclusively told Page Six last month that Tom, a devout Scientologist , has no part in his youngest kid’s life and has not seen her in a long time .

During a deposition for his 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media — which was  later settled  — the “Top Gun” franchise star was asked whether his ex-wife had ended their relationship “in part to protect Suri from Scientology.”

He responded at the time, “That was one of the assertions, yes.”

The actor, 60, notably distanced himself from Suri after Holmes left him. According to former Scientologist Leah Remini, that’s because the “First Daughter” star is a “suppressive person,”  which is considered an “enemy” to active members of the controversial organization.

Tom Cruise’s three ex-wives, Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, probably would have a lot to say about being married to the famously intense mega-star and their time inside his beloved Church of Scientology.

But these women have mostly kept Cruise’s secrets, with experts in the inner workings of Scientology saying that Kidman and Holmes, in particular, probably signed non-disclosure agreements when their marriages to the “Top Gun” actor ended.

But no such agreement probably applies to Cruise’s youngest child, Suri Cruise, from whom he’s long been estranged, Page Six reported . With Suri turning 18 on Thursday, she and her mother Katie Holmes should no longer receive the reported $400,000 a year Cruise paid as part of a divorce settlement. Cruise also agreed to pay Suri’s college and health care costs, Page Six added.

As an adult, Suri Cruise should be free to speak out about her father, his beliefs and their rift, journalist and Scientology expert Tony Ortega told Page Six.

“Suri would have been too young to sign any agreement (when her parents divorced in 2012), but she will now be free to talk if she wants to and it’s going to be really interesting if she has something to say,” Ortega said.

Page Six said that representatives for Cruise, Holmes and the Church of Scientology did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

It’s possible that Suri may choose to stay silent about her famous father. For one thing, if she gave an interview or published a tell-all about him, she’d probably have to give up the mostly private life she’s been able to enjoy thus far. People credit a protective Holmes with trying to give Suri as normal life as is possible under the circumstances, while raising her in New York City.

“Katie has safeguarded Suri and she’s a devoted mom,” a source told Page Six. “This is a girl who is a private citizen. She hasn’t lived her life in public.”

Suri’s life, though, started out in a very public way. As Page Six pointed out, she was once “the most famous baby in America” because of the very high-profile way that Cruise conducted his courtship of the “Dawson’s Creek” star, who was 16 years younger that Cruise when they began dating. When news came that Cruise and Holmes had become parents to a baby daughter in April 2006, a global frenzy erupted, with media outlets competing to be the first to publish the little girl’s photos.

At the age of five months, Suri Cruise made her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair, in a glossy photo taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

For the first six years of Suri’s life, Cruise seemed to dote on his youngest daughter and enjoy being seen with her in public. He also is the father of two older children, Isabella, now 31, and Connor Cruise, now 29, whom he adopted with Kidman.

But Suri’s relationship with her father changed after Holmes reportedly “blindsided” him by filing for divorce in 2012. The following year, Cruise gave a deposition in his $50 million court fight against a pair of tabloid magazines and admitted that Holmes filed for divorce “to protect Suri from Scientology,” court documents revealed, Page Six reported.

There have been questions about whether Holmes and her daughter were declared Scientology “suppressive persons,” or SPs, after the divorce. According to Scientology , SPs are people who have “anti-social” personalities who seek to “upset, continuously undermine, spread bad news about and denigrate betterment activities and groups.” Scientology recommends that members stay away from SPs for their own well-being, but the church’s own website said it is “extremely rare” to label someone an SP.

“We don’t know for sure if Katie was ever declared an SP,” Ortega told Page Six. A regular church member, whose wife and daughter left Scientology, would be encouraged to disconnect from them, but Cruise might have been spared that option because of his “top celebrity” status. “He gets to ignore all this stuff,” Ortega said.

In any case, Holmes secured sole custody of their daughter, while Cruise retained “meaningful” visitation rights, according to The Blast . Yet, public sightings of Cruise with his daughter soon dwindled, with Page Six saying they were last seen together at Disney World in the summer of 2012.

Even if Suri has lived a mostly private life, paparazzi are known to follow her and her mother Katie Holmes around the streets of Manhattan. Still, as Suri reportedly prepares to head off to college, Holmes revealed in a 2023 interview with Glamour that she has grown up to be “an incredible person.”
