About LANY:

In June of 2021, LANY released gg bb xx , their fourth consecutive studio album. gg bb xx showcased a return to their infectious pop sound collaborating with an array of notable songwriters and producers including Andrew Goldstein (Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Lauv), John Ryan (Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Harry Styles), David Hodges (Ed Sheeran, 5SOS, Blink 182), Tobias Jesso Jr. (Adele, Sia, HAIM), Dan Smyers of Dan + Shay and more. The albums lead track was the +5 million video views hit “ dancing in the the kitchen ”—which Uproxx says “showcases the group’s knack for penning relatable pop tunes, emphasizing the importance of enjoying life’s little moments over a joyous beat.” These new songs follow LANY’s first new music of 2021, “ I Quit Drinking ,” a duet with country superstar Kelsea Ballerini which debuted with a live performance at this year’s CMT Awards .

gg bb xx’s release immediately followed 2020’s critically acclaimed mama’s boy —which debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Alternative Albums sales chart with more than 300 million streams to date—

LANY’s breakthrough came with their 2017 self-titled debut, which built an international fanbase and led to sold out arenas across the world. The heartbreak anthems on their 2018 follow-up Malibu Nights cracked the Billboard Album Chart and connected in a huge way across the globe, with their 2019 collaboration with Lauv , “ Mean It ,” garnering further attention. Fronted by songwriter, lyricist and producer Paul Klein , LANY have a social media following of +9 million people, have sold more than 500,000 tickets worldwide and played sold-out shows from L.A.’s Greek Theatre to London’s Brixton Academy. Their songs have been streamed over three billion times with more than 750 million video views to date.

About Surfaces:

Surfaces is a Texas-based duo comprised of Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki. Forming in 2017, with Forrest manning vocals and production, and Colin handling writing and arrangements, they released their debut album later that year titled  Surf . Quickly capturing the attention of fans, they followed in 2019 with the release of Where the Light Is , catapulting them into stardom with breakout smash “Sunday Best.” The RIAA double-platinum certified track went on to surpass 2.5 billion streams, break into the Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100, reach #9 at Pop Radio and led to performances on  The Tonight Show with Jimmy   Fallon ,  Late Night with Seth Meyers ,  The Late Late Show with James Corden , and  The TODAY Show .

They continued their momentum with the release of Horizons , in early 2020, featuring “Take It Easy,” followed by their collaboration with the legendary Elton John on “Learn To Fly” and, most recently, the release of their 2021 album, Pacifico, featuring stand out singles “Wave of You” and “Come With Me” featuring Salem Ilese.

Now, Forrest and Colin focus on the next chapter of their musical career. Redefining their sound and perfecting their craft, the two isolated themselves in a house in Joshua Tree to experiment with new sounds and record. Inspired heavily by the likes of Tame Impala and Tom Misch, Surfaces pushed themselves to venture outside of their norm and craft some of their most innovative work to date. Kicking things off with “I Can’t Help But Feel,” the duo continue to carve their path and hint at more to come.

LANY Profile

LANY is an American indie pop band from Los Angeles.

LANY was formed in March 2014 when Paul Jason Klein, who had a small solo career, flew to Nashville to meet up with friends Jake Goss and Les Priest. The following month they uploaded two songs, “Hot Lights” and “Walk Away”, to SoundCloud incognito in order to differentiate between their old and new projects.

Their debut EP, Acronymns, followed later that year, with the song “ILYSB” generating significant interest online. Singles “Made in Hollywood” and “Bad, Bad, Bad” soon followed, along with the reveal of their identities.

LANY’s self-titled debut album was released in 2017. It contained some of the singles from their EP along with new tracks. The debut album contained the singles “Good Girls”, “13”, and “Super Far”.

LANY’s follow up album was “Malibu Nights” released in 2018. That album had the singles “Thru These Tears” and “I Don’t Wanna Love You Anymore”.

In 2021, LANY returned with a new album and gg bb xx tour. They followed that up in 2022 with the Summer Forever tour.

LANY: Summer Forever Tour

With surfaces and annika bennett.

Los Angeles-based trio  LANY  craft dreamy pop with an R&B spirit, as heard on early EPs and their debut full-length, 2017's LANY. They had another Top 40 showing with their 2018 sophomore LP,  Malibu Nights , before landing their first Hot 100 hit single in 2019 with the Lauv collaboration "Mean It." In 2020, the band reached a chart peak with the Top Ten "Mama's Boy", following it a year later with the Andrew Goldstein-produced  gg bb xx .

Formed in Nashville in 2014 by three friends -- Paul Jason Klein from Tulsa and Leslie Priest and Jake Goss from Nashville -- the members of LANY studied music in college and are multi-instrumentalists. During a trip from L.A. to Nashville, Klein hooked up with Priest and Goss, who were working on their own project, WRLDS. They decided to start something new together and LANY was born. The band's name (pronounced "Lay-nee") is a nod to Los Angeles and New York, marking their desire to spread their music from coast to coast. That music combines the feel of '80s radio pop, '90s R&B soul, and atmospheric synths.

Per user-reported data from setlist.fm , the most-represented album in the setlist was naturally Timberlake’s latest, Everything I Thought It Was . After that, Timberlake most prominently pulled from the albums FutureSex/LoveSounds , Justified , and The 20/20 Experience . Timberlake stuck primarily to his own songs, but he did work a cover of Chic’s “Good Times” into the mix.

All in all, Timberlake played a whopping 29 songs, opening with “No Angels” and “LoveStoned.” The setlist also featured acoustic versions of “Selfish” and “What Goes Around… Comes Around.”

Here’s How Taylor Swift Should Update Her Eras Tour Setlist to Include ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

The crowd was chanting "More!"

Taylor Swift

Leading up to the release of Taylor Swift ‘s The Tortured Poets Department , one question lingered in the backs of Swiftie minds for months: How would the new album affect the already three-hour-plus setlist of the pop star’s ongoing global Eras Tour?

When the record finally dropped April 19, bringing with it not just 16 pre-announced tracks, but 15 surprise bonus songs as well, their concerns were only exacerbated. How could Swift possibly slim down her pre- Tortured Poets setlist to fit any new material once she hit the road again? Where would she even begin selecting just a handful of the 31 songs on TTPD to include? Would she even bother trying? (Based on a video the singer posted of recent rehearsals for her next run of shows, which kicks off May 9 in Paris, the answer to that last question is most likely a “Yes.”)

It’s no small task, especially given that no matter what the “Anti-Hero” singer cuts or adds, some fans are bound to be upset when their favorites inevitably don’t make the final listing. Even so, Billboard has risen to the challenge, selecting the best possible collection of Tortured Poets tracks to represent Swift’s newest era while trimming the fat of past eras for an updated, ultimate dream Eras Tour setlist.

Some songs were hard to say good-bye to (sorry, “Mastermind”), and others were truly painful to not extend an invitation (don’t hate us, “Guilty as Sin?”). But in service of a well-rounded, comprehensive Eras experience, difficult decisions had to be made. Keep reading to see how Swift should move forward with her trek, Tortured Poets and all — plus, an idea on how her debut album Taylor Swift can finally get its flowers — below.

ACT I: 'Lover'

  • “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince”
  • “Cruel Summer”
  • “The Man”
  • “You Need to Calm Down”
  • “Lover”

CUT: “The Archer”

Note: Swift could also probably benefit from shortening her meandering pre-“The Man” monologue in Act I to save room for more songs later on.

ACT II: 'Fearless'

  • “Fearless”
  • “You Belong With Me”
  • “Love Story”

Note: At three songs, the Fearless era is already the perfect length, holistically comprised of the album’s title track and its two breakthrough hits, which made Swift a global star. No room for cuts here.

ACT III: 'Evermore'

  • “‘Tis the Damn Season”
  • “Willow”
  • “Champagne Problems”
  • “Tolerate It”

CUT: “Marjorie”

Note: Swift definitely deserves to drink in the applause for a moment after her magnificent piano performance of “Champagne Problems,” but at past Eras shows, she’s allowed the ovations to last for upwards of eight minutes . To save room for more songs, she may want to keep things moving at future stops.

ACT IV: 'Reputation'

  • “…Ready For It?”
  • “Delicate”
  • “Don’t Blame Me”
  • “Look What You Made Me Do”

Note: If you’ve been to an Eras show, you know: There’s no messing with the Reputation set. The already ear-splitting crowd somehow gets even louder as soon as this first notes of “Ready For It” blast through the speakers, and the stadium stays at peak volume throughout the traditional “1, 2, 3, Let’s go b–ch” chant during “Delicate” and the seamless transition between “Don’t Blame Me” and “Look What You Made Me Do.” No cuts.

ACT V: 'Speak Now'

  • “Enchanted”
  • “Long Live”

Note: Justice for Speak Now . Swift’s third album deserves a proper showcase each night, so we sincerely hope that the pop star doesn’t scrap “Long Live” — which she only added to the setlist four months into the Eras Tour’s first leg — to make room for TTPD.

ACT VI: 'Red'

  • “22”
  • “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”
  • “I Knew You Were Trouble”
  • “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)”

Note: It may seem like an easy time-saver to simply swap out the ten-minute version of “All Too Well” for Swift’s original five-minute version, but doing so would be robbing Swifties of the best ten-minute segment in the entire show. We simply won’t hear of it. That song aside, the other three hits on this mini-set — similar to the Fearless era — form a perfect bite-sized capsule of the album they represent, leaving no excess behind.

ACT VII: 'Folklore'

  • “Betty”
  • “August”
  • “Illicit Affairs” (Bridge Only)
  • “My Tears Ricochet”
  • “Cardigan”

CUTS: “The 1” / “Invisible String” & “The Last Great American Dynasty”

Note: Sorry, Folklorians: It’ll always have a special place at the heart of the Eras Tour show, but Swift has now released three new albums since her initial alt-folk pivot — hence the harsher cuts here.

ACT VIII: '1989'

  • “Style”
  • “Blank Space”
  • “Shake It Off”
  • “Wildest Dreams”
  • “Bad Blood”

Note: It’s almost impossible to imagine cutting any of the five songs on the 1989 setlist, each of them massive, stadium-rocking hits a full ten years after their original release (three of them peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Wildest Dreams” and “Style” reached Nos. 5 and 6, respectively). A time-saving mashup between two or more of them could, however, be an avenue to explore if needed, with a majority of the tracks boasting similar keys and corresponding musical styles.

INTERLUDE: Surprise Songs

  • Surprise Song No. 1
  • Surprise Song No. 2

Note: It’s safe to assume that the nightly surprise song section will be where Swift makes up for unused Tortured Poets songs, giving fans the chance to hear acoustic versions of the 20+ tracks on her newest album that probably won’t make it onto the regular setlist .

ACT IX: 'Midnights'

  • “Lavender Haze”
  • “Anti-Hero”
  • “Vigilante Shit”
  • “Bejeweled”
  • “Karma”

CUTS: “Midnight Rain” & “Mastermind”

Note: The only non-single to remain safe, “Vigilante Shit” would’ve been next on the chopping block. But honestly — what would the Eras Tour be without Swift’s iconic sultry, Chicago -esque dance break?

ACT X: 'The Tortured Poets Department'

  • “Fortnight”
  • “The Tortured Poets Department”
  • “Down Bad”
  • “So Long, London”
  • “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”
  • Mashup: “Teardrops on My Guitar” x “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”
  • “But Daddy I Love Him”

Note: As Swift’s newest album, Tortured Poets deserves to be the finale. And while, upon first listen, the record may not seem like it has enough stadium-ready bops to close out the show, the above songs 100% have the potential to be converted into the high-energy moments the Eras Tour commands. Just imagine the theatrical potential of “Who’s Afraid,” the meta-ness of a real-life crowd chanting “More!” during “Broken Heart,” and confetti falling from the sky during the final chorus of “But Daddy…” We picture gothic visuals, writing desks, typewriter props, period costumes and lightning strikes during this section.

Now, about that mashup. It’s absurd that Swift has never included any songs from her 2006 self-titled debut album — aka her first-ever era — on the main Eras Tour setlist. But it’s not too late to rectify that.

Picture this: The lights go down after Swift performs “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” Costumes change, a tiger cage and other circus-themed set pieces are wheeled away. Then, the songwriter — her silhouette barely visible under the dim glow of an aquamarine spotlight — sings a cappella the final chorus of the first song about faking smiles in the face of heartbreak she ever released: “Teardrops on My Guitar.” Emphasis on the lyric, “the only one who’s got enough of me to break my heart.”

After she trails off on the last line — “Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won’t see” — the stadium comes to life once more as the crowd’s multi-color light-up bracelets go haywire, an explosion of sound filling the space. “I can read your mind,” Swift jumps in, surrounded by dancers as the lights suddenly go up, revealing one last fabulous costume. “‘She’s having the time of her life…'”

Once that’s done, she’ll move on to the finale, flipping off the haters, embracing her truest fans and proudly proclaiming her love for the man of her dreams in one fell swoop with “But Daddy I Love Him,” disappearing offstage before concertgoers have even finished singing along. Fin.

Boy George (L) and Squeeze frontman Glenn Tillbrook are touring together in 2024.

Boy George is leaving Broadway and returning to the road.

The ’80s icon, who ends his three-month run as bold club owner Harold Zidler in the Tony Award-winning musical “Moulin Rouge!” on May 12, announced he’s embarking on a co-headlining tour with Squeeze this August and September.

Near the end of their 20-concert nationwide run, the duo will drop into Atlantic City’s Tropicana Showroom on Saturday, Sept. 14 and New York City’s Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

According to American Songwriter , the groups “will alternate closing sets for the tour.”

Can’t wait to sing along to “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” and “Tempted” at the same show this summer?

If that’s the case, tickets can be picked up for all Boy George and Squeeze shows as soon as today on sites like Vivid Seats. The official on-sale is Friday, May 3.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Boy George and Squeeze tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues, and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Squeeze solo tour 2024

On top of the co-headlining jaunt, Squeeze will play a handful of shows on their own in the U.K. this year.

Here’s where you can see the band — celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2024 — without Boy George live overseas these next few months.

“Moulin Rouge!” on Broadway

As noted above, Boy George is wrapping up his “Moulin Rouge!” run on May 12.

However, the show must go on.

For the foreseeable future, Baz Luhrmann’s timeless musical will continue at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in Midtown Manhattan.

Want to go?

You can grab tickets for all “Moulin Rouge!” shows here .

Boy George set list

Sure, you know the hits but what else does the former Culture Club frontman typically perform at live shows?

Based on our findings at Set List FM from a 2016 show, this is what you can likely expect.

01.) “Funtime” (Iggy Pop cover) 02.) “It’s a Miracle” (Culture Club song) 03.) “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya” (Culture Club song) 04.) “Church of the Poison Mind” (Culture Club song) 05.) “The Jean Genie” (David Bowie cover) 06.) “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” (Lee Hazlewood cover) 07.) “Everything I Own” (Bread cover) 08.) “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” (Culture Club song) 09.) “Miss Me Blind” (Culture Club song) 10.) “King of Everything” 11.) “Bow Down Mister” (Jesus Loves You song)

12.) “Karma Chameleon” (Culture Club song) 13.) “Bang A Gong (Get It On)” (T. Rex cover)

Squeeze set list

The long-running group has been tirelessly touring since the ’70s.

Here’s what they play live these days, courtesy of Set List FM :

01.) “Take Me I’m Yours” 02.) “Hourglass” 03.) “Up the Junction” 04.) “Here Comes That Feeling” 05.) “What Have They Done?” 06.) “If I Didn’t Love You” 07.) “Another Nail in My Heart” 08.) “Vanity Fair” 09.) “Slap & Tickle” 10.) “Electric Trains” 11.) “Goodbye Girl” 12.) “Annie Get Your Gun” 13.) “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)” 14.) “Tempted” 15.) “Cool for Cats” 16.) “Black Coffee in Bed” 17.) “Is That Love” 18.) “Black Coffee in Bed” (Reprise)

Boy George new music

This year, Boy George dropped a pair of singles.

First up, was his snazzy, disco-y “Electric Energy” collaboration with Nile Rodgers and Ariana DeBose for the film “Argylle.”

Then, on April 5, he released the anthemic “Them There Crows,” complete with beat drops and gnarly guitar riffs.

Both tracks can be found here .

Squeeze new music

Most recently, Squeeze put out a pair of “Best of Squeeze” live albums.

However, we were most taken with their quirky 2022 EP “Food For Thought.”

Make sure to check out the funky “The Very First Dance” and hard-charging “Electric Trains,” if you haven’t listened to the band lately; these tracks are a welcome addition to their impressive canon.

You can hear “Food For Thought” in its entirety here .

’80s stars on tour in 2024

We can’t believe it’s been 35 years since the 1980s.

What’s even crazier is that many of the decade’s biggest stars are still on the road.

Here are just five of our favorites you won’t want to miss live these next few months.

•  Journey and Def Leppard

•  Billy Idol

•  Rick Springfield

•  Madness

•  New Kids On The Block

Tickets to the concerts will be made available via an exclusive Knotfest presale today (April 30) at 12pm ET.

General sale will begin on Friday (May 3) at 10am local time.

Slipknot announced their first US Slipknot celebration show yesterday (April 29), when they revealed they will headline Knotfest Iowa in September.

The bill for the one-day festival, held in The Nine’s hometown of Des Moines, also includes Knocked Loose and Vended, as well as Hatebreed, Poison The Well, Gwar and more.

The North American tour will precede Slipknot’s tour of UK and Europe in December .

Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan has previously stated that Slipknot will be played live in full during the European shows.

Whether the album will be played in its entirety on the newly announced North American run hasn’t been confirmed.

Here Comes The Pain will mark Slipknot’s first fully fledged tour with new drummer Eloy Casagrande, whom the band officially unveiled as their drummer this morning (April 30).

Casagrande left Brazilian metal veterans Sepultura to join Slipknot in February, replacing Jay Weinberg following his dismissal last November .
