Maid of the Mist Boat Tour

Operating since 1846, the Maid of the Mist is the one and only tour boat fleet whose captains have safely navigated the mighty waters of the Niagara Gorge for over 100 years. This iconic boat ride operates only on the U.S. side of the Falls and has officially launched two new all-electric, emission-free passenger vessels. Guests from around the world will now enjoy a smoother, quieter and greener ride when visiting the nation’s oldest state park. Access the Maid of the Mist via the Observation Tower and journey along the Niagara River to the base of the American and Horseshoe Falls and witness the thundering roar of 600,000 gallons of water. This spectacular ride lasts a half hour and creates a lifetime of memories with each voyage. Blue rain poncho provided.

Meet in front of the Hard Rock Cafe. This is located directly across the street from parking lot 1. Look for your guide, who will arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the Niagara Falls tour to check in (and welcome!) you for your 1-hour tour. Our uniform is a light blue polo shirt and khaki-colored pants/shorts.

Throughout the 1-hour tour, expect fun, lesser-known facts about the American side of Niagara Falls as you take in the thundering majesty of the Horseshoe Falls (the biggest waterfall at Niagara), American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. 

One of the most fun things to do in Niagara Falls is undoubtedly hopping aboard the Maid of the Mist for a ride around the Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the waterfalls here. While the ride itself is a blast, expect to make it an even more special experience with your tour guide sharing plenty of interesting stories about the oldest attraction in the United States.

Yes! Niagara Falls State Park is committed to making North America’s oldest attraction accessible to all. Over the last few years, the park has made major renovations and improvements to ensure attractions are ADA-compliant. You can expect flat, paved routes as well as access to major draws including Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist.

The Horseshoe Falls (aka Canadian Falls), American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls all make up the Niagara Falls.

Expect a $10 daily fee on weekdays and $15 daily fee for state park parking (the closest parking to Niagara Falls). We recommend checking the  Niagara Falls State Park website  for most up-to-date information.

Looking for a fun way to "explore the roar?" The Maid of the Mist boat tour in Niagara Falls, NY has been described by generations of visitors as one of the highlights of their trip.

A favorite Niagara Falls State Park attraction for more than 150 years, the Maid of the Mist journey begins at the Observation Tower, where guests are given a souvenir rain poncho to wear and board the double-deck Maid of the Mist tour boat. From there, the boat ferries past the base of the American Falls, and onto the basin of Horseshoe Falls--the dramatic passage leading you through the roiling waterfall whitewater and massive rock formations. The Maid of the Mist returns guests to shore with newfound appreciation of the power and grandeur of Niagara Falls.

Tickets purchased online are valid any day we are open during the season, but reservations for a specific date or time are not accepted. All passengers, including those with online tickets, will be boarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets purchased in person at our ticket office are only valid on the day they are purchased. 

Prices are in U.S. dollars and include the $1.25 per person cost of the elevator, which is necessary to reach our landing.

Method of payment - Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card at point of sale only. Personal checks are not accepted.

Ticket office closes 15 minutes before last scheduled departure.

Experience the world-famous Maid of the Mist Boat Cruise and get up close and personal with the Horseshoe Falls, feeling the refreshing spray and hearing the thundering roar of Niagara Falls. The boat ride lasts approximately 30 minutes. Admission Ticket Included

The Cave of the Winds takes you 175 feet deep into the Niagara Gorge, where you can experience the Hurricane Deck. We provide specialized footwear and a poncho for your comfort while walking through the park. Please note that the Cave of the Winds is closed seasonally. During the off-season, we replace the Cave of the Winds walk with the Niagara Gorge walk. Admission Ticket Included

The Observation Tower provides numerous panoramic views of all three falls, including the Canadian side, as well as the beautiful white water below. Admission Ticket Included

Discovered in 1834 and opened to the public seven years later, the Bridal Veil Falls is the smallest of the three falls. Admission ticket is included.

The American Falls, shaped like a "W," has an estimated water flow of 75,000 gallons per second. It is also lit up at night with beautiful multi-colored LED lights. Admission ticket is included.

This small island is situated between the American and Bridal Falls. Admission ticket is included.

Niagara City Cruises – Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour (Canada)

This 20-minute tour offers a close-up view of the American, Bridal Veil and Horseshoe falls, as well as the breathtaking Niagara Gorge. Offered by Niagara City Cruises (formerly Hornblower Cruises), the tour is accompanied by an audio commentary and includes complimentary ponchos (that you can keep), which tourgoers say you'll absolutely need to wear. The ultimate Niagara Falls boat tour, the Maid of the Mist has been in operation since 1846. Now an all-electric fleet of double-decker boats, the Maid of the Mist brings riders face-to-face with the falls on a 20-minute ride. Tourgoers describe the ride as breathtaking and beautiful, saying it's like nothing they've experienced before. Note that you'll get wet – that's how close you'll get to the falls – even if you wear the ponchos that are supplied to all visitors.

Tours operate from mid-April through early November from 9 or 10 a.m. to between 4 and 8 p.m. daily, depending on the time of year. Tickets cost approximately $28.25 for adults and $16.50 for children 6 to 12; children 5 and younger ride for free.
