At New Orleans Brewery Tours, we’re all about providing you with a great time and a safe beer tour experience; beginning with a downtown pickup in our brand new luxury van, followed by a short 7-mile beer hop.

Our tour features three breweries,  Urban South , Port Orleans and  NOLA Brewing , where you will enjoy a guided tour, while learning about the brewing process, history of brewing beer in New Orleans, and of course, sampling a variety of some damn fine local brews!

PORT ORLEANS BREWING

Port Orleans Brewing Co. was founded in 2017 by 5 partners with the managing partner being retired Saints offensive tackle Zach Strief. Strief has taken the brewery in a great direction, adding a beer garden and even sending hops into space!

The brewery has focused its efforts on perfecting lagering with two of their most notable beers being Riverfront, an american style, and Dorada a mexican style lager.

URBAN SOUTH BREWERY

Urban South Brewery was founded in 2016 by Jacob Landry and Kyle Huling with the intention of combining the heritage of European beer making with the brashness of new American styles.

With their instant classics signature brews, Paradise Park and Holy Roller IPA, Urban South has taken New Orleans by storm as well as rapidly increasing their production and distribution capacity year over year.

NOLA BREWING

NOLA Brewing Company brews 8 beers year round, which are served in bars throughout the Southeast United States, as well as in grocery stores throughout Louisiana.

As New Orleans longest running craft brewery they have seen great success, expanding their distribution to 8 states while also creating a raft of seasonal, specialty, and charity beers! Also featuring NYC style pizza in their newly constructed taproom.

Reserve a private bus and guide for your private party! All of our private tours include: door to door transportation, 6 beer samples & behind the scenes access to the brewing floors. Y’all will do more than just drink on this tour, we also cover how the beer is made, the ingredients, the history of the breweries and some fun insider info on New Orleans.

Our private tours start with a pickup from your hotel or Airbnb and head directly to three local breweries. Try two beers of your choosing at each stop, which is more than enough for most of our private parties! Each of the three breweries are unique from the: design, beer, food and overall vibe. Oftentimes one of the breweries has live music (especially on the weekends) and sometimes even a crawfish boil. At the end of your tour we can drop your party off anywhere in the downtown area.

Our story began with a casual conversation between two friends who generally spent Friday afternoons together enjoying a few beers at  Nola Brewing . In the spring of 2016, on a typical Friday, founders, Peter and Patrick decided to take the initiative and find a solution for providing easy access – for the millions of tourists visiting New Orleans throughout the year – to the amazing craft beer and the growing number of breweries opening in and around town.

Courtyard Brewery

Courtyard Brewery is a nano brewery located in an actual courtyard, making for a cozy and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for sipping on some of the best IPAs and saisons around. Actually, all of Brewer Scott Wood’s creations are delicious! Plus, they also have guest beers on tap to keep things interesting.

If you’re looking for something sweet to go along with your brew, you can pick up some Rahm Haus Ice Cream right there on-site. And with various food trucks parked just outside the courtyard, you won’t have to go far to grab a bite to eat.

Miel Brewery

Miel Brewery is a gem in the New Orleans craft beer scene that you won’t want to miss. The name Miel actually comes from the founder’s parents’ beekeeping hobby that supplied them with tons of honey – so you know their beers are sweetened to perfection!

While they don’t make mead, they do use honey in a few of their beers like the La Ventana Central American lager brewed with honey malt and flaked corn, and the Surrealista Honey IPA with notes of roasted peaches, tannic oak, and honey throughout. Beyond its diverse flavors, Miel Brewery has an unbeatable vibe and appealing aesthetic that’s perfect for kicking back with friends.

Rory McIlroy sang Journey in New Orleans. He also won the golf tournament

NEW ORLEANS — Rory McIlroy is on the TPC Louisiana 19th green stage with a beer in one hand and a microphone in the other. He’s got Mardi Gras beads around his neck standing next to one of his best friends, Shane Lowry, and the drunken New Orleans crowd keeps chanting.

“Rory! Rory! Rory!”

“Do you know any songs from the 80s?” the bandleader asks.

And then Journey starts playing.

The four-time major champ belted out “Don’t Stop Believing” early Sunday evening, tossing his head back to put his chest into the notes. Lowry just laughed and drank his beer watching his buddy make a fool of himself. As he walked off moments later, Lowry answered why he didn’t join — “I would have sung much better.”

McIlroy just won a golf tournament. And he needed to win a golf tournament. But far, far more than he needed anything on a scorecard, he needed this week. McIlroy needed to have fun.

This all began with a “really drunken lunch” after their Ryder Cup win last fall. McIlroy asked Lowry if they could team up for the Zurich Classic — the PGA Tour ’s only team event. Lowry has played this event before but, fearful of rejection, never asked McIlroy to team up. McIlroy sent Lowry a Christmastime text confirming. He was coming to New Orleans.

Fast forward to Saturday night, and just off Bourbon Street in the French Quarter at a classic white tablecloth Creole joint called Arnaud’s, McIlroy and Lowry received a standing ovation from the other diners. This isn’t even some casual weekend in Louisiana. It’s Jazz Fest. It’s NFL Draft week. The Pelicans are in the playoffs. Yet the people were so psyched to have the No. 2 player in the world they filled TPC Louisiana with the largest galleries anyone can recall and applauded them at restaurants. One TV reporter joked the last athlete to receive that was Reggie Bush nearly two decades ago.

“It was weird for me,” Lowry said. “That stuff doesn’t happen to me.”

“It doesn’t happen to me, either!” McIlroy joked.

“He’s getting old,” Lowry said with a cheeky grin. “But he can still move the needle a little bit.  Rory brings a crowd, and people love him.”

A little context. McIlroy isn’t having a very good season. It became a running gag last week that Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, is outearning McIlroy in 2024. And McIlroy has been having a stressful few years. He was the face of the PGA Tour in its war with LIV and the most public-facing policy board member. Then, he got blindsided by the PGA Tour entering into a framework agreement with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (LIV’s owners), calling himself a “sacrificial lamb” as they sent him to speak to the media the next day.

He then reportedly lost a power battle over the future of the tour to Patrick Cantlay and decided to leave the board, with Sports Illustrated reporting Cantlay and others like Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth focused more on catering to the tour’s elites. McIlroy then changed his tune and campaigned for unification with LIV. He rubbed people the wrong way, criticizing Spieth publicly for saying the PGA Tour didn’t “need” the Saudis. He consistently made comments about the desire for money ruining the sport. He got in an awkward incident at the Players Championship with playing partners Spieth and Viktor Hovland.

Oh, and the golf has suffered. It’s all relative. He’s still top 30 nearly every week, but has just one PGA Tour finish better than 19th all season. When he finished T22 at the Masters two weeks ago, he got questions about whether he needed to blow up his swing and do a full reset.

Then, he went to New Orleans.

McIlroy was not locked in this week, at least not for most of the week. This week was about having fun with his old buddy Shane. They didn’t even practice when they got in Tuesday because the course was too busy, so they messed around at the chipping green instead. During the Wednesday Pro-Am, they hardly even played every other shot. They seemed to hit when they felt like it while walking and talking the rest. They crushed chargrilled oysters from Drago’s on the 10th hole and teased each other.

Who knows how worried they even were as they entered the seventh hole Sunday five back of the leaders. Yes, they’re competitors and want to win, but they were just going with the flow.

Then, McIlroy got hot. Playing alternate shot, they birdied four of the next five holes to get one back. McIlroy dropped a saucy little club twirl that he hasn’t shown in years on a perfect iron shot on 14. And right around that time, he clearly started to want it a bit more. When he put his drive on 16 into a bunker, he bent over and held his head down for a full minute in frustration.

But no worries. Lowry hit a perfect wedge from the bunker to the center of the green, and McIlroy hit a wide-breaking putt to take a share of the lead.

On the par-3 17th, Lowry’s tee shot flew into the crowd and he later missed a tough par putt. He was visibly disappointed with himself, but McIlroy speedily chased him off the green to say, “Hey, Shane. That was a good putt.”

“Rory is there backing me up this week,” Lowry said, “and he was a great teammate, and he made me believe in myself. It was good to have him there to do that.”

They then birdied 18 to send it to a playoff, and thanks to a missed putt by Martin Trainer in the playoff, McIlroy won his 25th PGA Tour tournament and Lowry earned himself a spot in the remaining PGA Tour signature events. Teamwork.

Yeah, maybe McIlroy was the key to the win this week, but there’s a chance Lowry was the key to a much-needed week for McIlroy. Because he admitted this week was about getting away from the stress.

“Absolutely,” he said. “The reason that Shane and I both started to play golf is because we thought it was fun at some stage in our life.  I think sort of reinjecting a little bit of that fun back into it in a week like this week, it can always help.”

And as the event finished, tournament organizers could be seen celebrating the coup of one of the game’s biggest stars winning and possibly coming back next year to defend his title. This isn’t exactly one of the tour’s bigger events. They’d kill for McIlroy in the field again. So he was asked, “Has anyone started trying to sell you on returning?”

“I don’t think they need to try,” McIlroy said. “I think we’re coming back.”

Rory McIlroy knows how to party. 

The Northern Irish golf star celebrated a victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans team event on Sunday by chugging a Michelob ULTRA and belting out the lyrics to “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey with a live band in front of a rocking audience of golf fans. 

The PGA Tour posted the video to its social media channels following the tournament win for McIlroy and his teammate Shane Lowry at TPC Louisiana.

The duo defeated ​​Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer in a playoff to capture the Zurich Classic and McIlroy won his 25th PGA Tour title and first of the season. 

McIlroy hit a brilliant pitch on the 72nd hole to set up a short Lowry birdie putt to force a playoff in what is the PGA Tour’s lone team event of the season.

Trainer missed a six-foot par putt that allowed McIlroy and Lowry the win and set off a boozy celebration on Sunday. 

“To win any PGA Tour event is very cool, but to do it with one of your closest friends — we’ve known each other for a long, long time, probably like over 20 years,” McIlroy said, per the Associated Press. “To think about where we met and where we’ve come from, to be on this stage and do this together — really, really cool journey that we’ve been a part of.”

In another video posted by the PGA Tour, the two are seen walking through a parking lot after the victory led by a New Orleans-style brass band after the win. 

A separate video shows McIlroy on a stage chugging a beer in front of a large gathering of golf fans. 

“People have come out in the thousands to support us. It’s not lost on me how cool that is,” McIlroy said about the crowds that followed during the tournament. “Every time I get to play in front of thousands of people, the little boy in me just thinks it’s so cool and so exciting.”

It was a fitting celebration given McIlroy previously told Claire Rogers of Golf.com that he asked Lowry to partner together at a “really drunken lunch” after the Ryder Cup.

Lowry had previously teamed with Padraig Harrington, who now plays on the Champions Tour.

To determine the most affordable Eras Tour stops, Islands.com researchers compared the cost of a two-night trip, including one cheap ticket on StubHub.com, two nights at a four-star hotel, six inexpensive meals, two five-mile taxi rides, and one domestic beer. However, researchers didn’t account for airline tickets or concert merchandise.

With safety at the top of travelers' minds, the researchers also factored in the city’s safety rating out of 100. 

To stay extra safe, the State Department encourages travelers to register with the U.S. embassy in the country they're visiting any time they travel abroad. That can be done at step.state.gov .

Rory McIlroy celebrated winning the Zurich Classic with Shane Lowry by singing Journey's iconic track 'Don't Stop Believin' on karaoke and enjoying a well-earned beer.

McIlroy and Lowry claimed victory in the team event in New Orleans after beating Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer in a play-off. Ramey and Trainer set the clubhouse lead on 25-under before McIlroy and Lowry birdied the last hole to post the same score.

McIlroy and Lowry then parred the play-off hole, but Ramey and Trainer failed to follow suit. It's Lowry's first victory on the PGA Tour since winning the Open Championship in 2019, with McIlroy also ending a nine-month wait to be triumphant on the circuit.

It was a sweet victory for the Irish pair, who are close friends and used to playing with each other in Ryder Cup for Team Europe. McIlroy and Lowry started their celebrations by opening a bottle of beer and getting on stage in Louisiana.

McIlroy then started singing Journey's famous song with a live band behind him, with Lowry laughing next to him. Lowry wasn't filmed singing and joked on X: "Couldn't get a word in."

McIlroy's antics didn't stop there, as he also chugged a beer on stage. Lowry went on to post a picture of him enjoying a beer with his playing partner, who now has 25 wins on the PGA Tour, with the caption: "Team work makes (the) dream work."

The victory comes at a great time for both golfers, with the PGA Championship, the US Open and the Open Champion all coming up in the next three months. McIlroy will be particularly keen to end his 10-year wait for a major title in 2024.

"It's absolutely amazing," McIlroy told CBS Sports after clinching victory. "We've had an awesome week here in New Orleans. The crowds have been absolutely amazing, to get the support we've had out there. We've had so much fun while doing it and it's just a bonus to win at the end. It couldn't be better than to do it with this man alongside me."

Lowry, meanwhile, praised McIlroy for producing some of his best golf in New Orleans. He added: "It's great. It felt much needed. Coming into the week we felt we could do with a big jump for the FedEx Cup, let's get 400 points each and that's what we've done. I feel a little bit bad taking them because Rory carried me, but I'm taking them!"

The pair were congratulated by Team Europe's Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald. He posted on X: "Well I joined that boozy lunch in the early evening back in October that led to Rory and Shane partnering up this week. Always brings a smile to see any of my players win - winning together is even better. Well done lads."

OK, so Rory McIlroy singing karaoke inside a concert tent at TPC Louisiana on Sunday night following he and Shane Lowry’s win at the Zurich Classic won’t be confused for some of the most iconic rock shows of all-time. Typically, winners go through their post-win obligations and then take off for home – or the next Tour stop. McIlroy, however, decided he wouldn’t leave New Orleans without grabbing a mic and belting out one of the most popular anthems in history.
