If we approach the lake, we can discover the life that exists around it, especially in the ghats where the inhabitants of Udaipur come to wash their clothes. Udaipur is well known for its Rajput era palaces, especially for the Pichola lake palace. Many of its palaces have become luxury hotels.

Also, although the state of Rajasthan is full of great fortresses, majestic palaces, and magnificent temples. Udaipur makes a difference providing its sophisticated elegance, with its palaces, lakes, temples, and gardens that look alike as a fairy tale story.

An exciting and joyful welcome to spring, this festival is a delight for the senses, with lush traditional Rajasthani dances, songs, and parades, as well as religious music and burning fireworks. It is celebrated at the Gangaur Festival. A procession of women wearing colourful dresses of the images of Goddess Gauri their way to Lake Pichola. It is an annual festival held in Udaipur to welcome the onset of spring. The Gangaur festival is very significant for the women of Rajasthan. It is time for them to dress their best and join the crowd in the festival

They get together to decorate the little statues of almighty Shiva and Gangaur and then take them in a traditional parade through different parts of the city. The dazzling procession leads to the statues of the gods and Gangaur Isar through the avenues of the city, finally reaching Gangaur lake Pichola de Ghat. There, accompanied by singing and entertainment, the images are taken aboard ships specially prepared for the occasion.

Udaipur has been the most important event in the kingdom of Mewar, ruled by the monarchs of the Sisodia dynasty for many centuries. According to legend, King Udai Singh met a hermit in the woods in the exercise of hunting, ascetic, blessing the king and advised him to build a palace on the site. Since the location was a lush valley with abundant streams and a lake, the newly created city soon became a thriving area.

Udaipur, the nightlife is typical of India. In the discos of the city, you can hear the sound of Bollywood dance and entertainment here is part of Udaipur. The nightlife of Udaipur impressed by the numerous events and concerts throughout the city, and not only on Saturdays, Sundays, Fridays. Travel Guide for Udaipur: Things to Know Before Planning a Trip to Udaipur

Where’s udaipur.

Udaipur’s this gem in Rajasthan, northwestern India. It’s ringed by lakes, which is why people love to call it the City of Lakes . It’s also called the Venice of the East and It kind of feels like one when you see all the water around.

Udaipur is also called the White City because many of its buildings and the famous City Palace are made from a particular type of white marble.

The city’s packed with history – think palaces that tell tales of old royalty, like the famous City Palace, and gardens that are just a feast for the eyes.

And then you’ve got these intricately carved temples. Plus, the Aravalli Hills are all around you, adding to the charm. It’s like stepping into a royal story, but it’s real, and it’s all set in some seriously pretty nature.

Best Time to Visit Udaipur

lake pichola boating trip to udaipur rajasthan india

Udaipur, like the rest of Rajasthan or North India for that matter, remains super hot during the summer season (March to June) so obviously, it’s not wise to plan a trip to Udaipur during summer.

The monsoon season (July to September) is again not recommended as outdoor activities are not possible at all.

But then the rainy season has its own perks. It’s when the lakes, filled up with water, look captivating, and the Aravalli Range, covered in lush greenery, teems with life.

The winter season (October to February) is a perfect time to visit Udaipur. The weather is pleasantly cool and sunny (mostly) which makes sightseeing less hectic and more fun.

If you plan to visit in December (around Christmas and New Year holidays), make sure to book flights and accommodation well in advance.

How Many Days in Udaipur

Ideally, you’d want to set aside at least two to three days to really soak in the essence of this city.

Say you’ve got a weekend in Udaipur, it’s definitely delightful, but trust me, it’s just a teaser. You’ll get a taste of the city, sure. You cruise on Lake Pichola, catch the sunset, and maybe snap some epic photos. It’s great, but Udaipur deserves more of your time.

If you want to (you must) explore the historic forts, cultural landmarks, and unique temples scattered around Udaipur (there are tons), I recommend at least a week in Udaipur.

The first time we hit Udaipur, we only had two days. Not nearly enough. We were rushing around, trying to see everything, but it was a bit of a blur. We didn’t even get a chance to step outside the city.

The next trip, we wised up and stayed for four days , focusing only on the city, no side trips, no distractions. That’s when I really got to know the place. But, that was part of a bigger Rajasthan trip that lasted two weeks . We saved the places outside Udaipur for the road trip portion, which was a blast and took us all the way to Jodhpur .

The heart of the matter is that Udaipur is not your typical rush-around kind of place. It’s the kind of place where you can take a deep breath, wander around at your own pace, and really get the feel of things. More like a luxury in the busy buzz of India!

How to Get to Udaipur

Udaipur is well-connected by air, rail, and road to the major cities in India.

Located in Dabok , Maharana Pratap Airport serves Udaipur. About 22 km from the city, it’s a domestic airport that receives flights from the major cities in India. The leading airlines that have regular flights to and from Udaipur are Indigo, SpiceJet, Vistara, and Air India.

There’s nothing quite like the freedom a road trip offers. A strong road network links Udaipur to most of the Indian cities.

In cases where the driving distance is more than we can drive in one go, we break our journey at any city en route. Like if you’re driving from Delhi to Udaipur, Jaipur or Ajmer can be chosen for a night halt.

Also, if you don’t want to use your own car, you can hire a car. There are many tour operators that provide cars for rent.

We didn’t want to drive on our own so we chose a chauffeur-driven car for our trip to Rajasthan.

If you’re also touring Rajasthan and exploring the major cities of Rajasthan, it’s wise to hire a car and driver. You not only save time and hassle but also get to explore the off-center attractions or hidden gems.

A strong bus network connects Udaipur to various Indian cities. You can choose from AC coaches or state-run buses depending upon the budget.

The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) buses connect Udaipur with other major cities in Rajasthan.

Udaipur City Railway Station (UDZ) is the nearest railway station. There are direct trains from Delhi (Chetak Express and Mewar Express) Mumbai (Bdts Aii Udz Express), Kolkata (Annanya Express), Jaipur (Udaipur City–Jaipur Intercity-Express), Indore (Udaipur City Express), and Ahmedabad (Adi Udz Express).

How to Get Around Udaipur

Udaipur is a relatively compact city. Auto-Rickshaws, taxis, and local buses (limited) contribute to the public transportation system. The narrow lanes of the old city are best explored on foot as all the attractions are located within walking distance.

If you don’t want to walk, you can opt for an auto-rickshaw. A shared auto-rickshaw comes cheaper but it sticks to the fixed route and stops at the designated (popular) stops. A private auto-rickshaw is a bit pricey but it goes anywhere you name.

For the attractions outside the city like Monsoon Palace, Badi Lake, Chittorgarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh Fort, Ranakpur, Eklingji, and Nathdwara – a taxi is ideal. Uber and Ola are available in Udaipur.

Where to Stay in Udaipur

When in Udaipur, you’d want to stay in the old city for three reasons – firstly, most of the attractions are close by, secondly, you can drink in the views of the iconic Lake Pichola, and lastly, the old city is where the soul of Udaipur lies.

From boutique heritage hotels, and hostels, to guesthouses, and luxury hotels – the old city has all types of properties to suit your budget and style. Make sure you book in advance to score a Lakeview room.

If budget is your concern and you are looking for a hotel that offers value for money, we recommend Jagat Niwas Palace and Amet Haveli.

Located on the eastern banks of Lake Pichola, Jagat Niwas Palace is a favorite among travelers for its perfect location, courteous staff, A1 service, and good food.

Located on the northwestern bank of Lake Pichola, Amet Haveli is highly rated for its services, cleanliness, location, staff, and facilities. The hotel is best known for Ambrai Restaurant, one of the best fine-dining restaurants in Udaipur. It’s where you can have delicious food with an amazing view of Lake Pichola.

If you don’t mind splurging and are looking for sheer luxury, your options are – Taj Fateh Prakash Palace , Shiv Niwas Palace Hotel , The Leela Palace , The Oberoi Udaivilas , and the Taj Lake Palace Hotel . If you ask me to suggest to you the best among all, floating right in the center of Lake Pichola, the Taj Lake Palace Hotel is a class apart. Exquisite is the word!

What and Where to Eat and Drink in Udaipur

Like most of the cities in Rajasthan, Udaipur is a great place to try Rajasthani specialties like Laal Maas, Gatte ki Sabzi, Dal Bati Churma, Ker Sangri, Chakki ki Sabzi, Ghevar, Mirchi Bada, Pyaaj Kachori, Samosa, and Chaat.

Udaipur’s charm lies in rooftop lake-view restaurants and cafes. More than food, what matters here is the view you get.

From Sheesh Mahal , Upré , Ambrai , Tribute , Khamma Ghani , Charcoal by Carlsson , Jagat Niwas Palace , Restaurant Harigarh , Chandani by the Oberoi Udaivilas , Jharokha by Lake Palace Hotel , Paantya by Shiv Niwas Palace , and TWG by Hemang are quite a few amazing fine dining restaurants that offer food with a view.

All of these restaurants (except TWG Hemang which primarily serves international cuisine) offer International as well as Rajasthani cuisine.

Jheel’s Ginger Coffee Bar & Bakery , a cafe perched over Lake Pichola is where you can enjoy some free time with a cup of coffee or chocolate shake.

If you’ve got enough of the views (which is unlikely), you can head to the restaurants that might not offer you the iconic views but are celebrated for various other reasons.

A charming old-world colonial house restored into a restaurant, in 1559 AD , a bistro lounge restaurant, and Royal Repast , a specialty restaurant are great places to dine out. Both these restaurants are highly appreciated for their warm staff, speedy service, and vintage ambiance.

For travelers who want to enjoy a traditional Rajasthani thali – Garden Restaurant , Natraj Dining Hall and Restaurant , Krishna Dal Bati Restro , Padam Thal , Navidya By Amantra Hotels , and Udaipuri .

We also liked Udai Art Café , Brew Villa , Yummy Yoga , and Cafe La Comida . Located right in the heart of the old city, both cafes serve great coffee and snacks.

If you are a health aficionado, Millets of Mewar is for you! The first-ever dedicated health-food restaurant in Udaipur, Millets of Mewar uses locally sourced and organic ingredients. They very well know how to make healthy eating fun and creative. Its menu also includes vegan and gluten-free options.

What to See and Do in Udaipur

There are tons of places in Udaipur, each with its unique charm. First off, the City Palace is a must-see. This colossal structure is steeped in history and grandeur.

Then there’s Lake Pichola. A boat ride there during the golden hours of sunset is just spellbinding.

Don’t miss the Jagdish Temple. Its intricate carvings and serene atmosphere are utterly captivating.

Next up, you can reach Karni Mata Temple by a hearty trek or a swift ropeway ride – the choice is yours, but the breathtaking views are a given either way.

The gardens of Saheliyon-ki-Bari are perfect for a leisurely and peaceful walk.

The Monsoon Palace is your ticket to the best sunset view in town – the city lights up like a jewel.

And if you’re chasing art and culture, the Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum showcases the best local crafts.

And there’s more than just the mainstream attractions.

Find solace at the calm Ambrai Ghat or the tranquil Badi Lake. Pay respects at the Ahar Cenotaphs and soak in the beauty of Fateh Sagar Lake.

And there’s the Neemach Mata Temple – it’s not as crowded and the climb is pretty refreshing. Plus, the view? It’s like you’re watching over Udaipur.

Evenings in Udaipur are for Bagore Ki Haveli. The Dharohar dance show is epic – the dances, the music, the vibe – it’s all real Rajasthan.

And, of course, shopping in Udaipur is an experience in itself. The markets such as Bapu Bazaar, Ghanta Ghar, Hathipol, Malda’s Street, and more are alive with colors, crafts, and endless rows of shops waiting to be discovered.

Let’s not forget Maharana Pratap Samarak. It’s a tribute to a local hero, Maharana Pratap, and you can feel the pride in the air. It’s this outdoor space with a big statue of him and his loyal horse, Chetak, which is pretty awesome to see.

And you must find out some time to visit the Shilpgram Museum, a living arts village that celebrates the traditional crafts and lifestyle of the local folk. A little out of the city, it’s is like a portal into the heart of Rajasthani village life and of course, the best place to immerse in the local culture.

Last but not the least, you can’t miss a trip to Chittorgarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Standing proud a little way from Udaipur, it’s where the dramatic history of Rajasthan unfolds.

chittorgarh fort

With more time, you can take a few eventful day trips from Udaipur. Just a short drive from the heart of Udaipur, you’ll find Eklingji, an ancient Hindu temple complex that’s a sanctuary of peace and spiritual energy.

A little further, there’s a cozy little town of Nathdwara famous for its temple of Shrinathji. It’s all about timing your visit to catch the temple ceremonies, which is quite the experience with all the singing and hustle.

Haldighati is another important spot near Udaipur. It’s where the iconic battle involving Maharana Pratap took place, and you can almost hear the clash of swords. Nearby, the Maharana Pratap Museum adds layers to the story, offering insights and artifacts that bring the historical saga to life.

And you can’t miss Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s this massive fort with a wall you can see for miles. People say it’s like India’s version of the Great Wall of China. The view from up there are simply breathtaking.

How to Plan the Best Delhi to Udaipur Road Trip in 2023: Complete Guide

January 4, 2023

Follow us on

In a nutshell: what you'll find in this article.

Planning a Delhi to Udaipur Road Trip can be an exciting and worthwhile experience. With careful consideration, you can make the most of your journey, mapping out stops along the way and deciding on a suitable destination. From booking accommodation to preparing your car, there are a few things to keep in mind when planning your trip.

Let’s take a look at a few tips to prepare for your Delhi to Udaipur Road Trip.

Research the route

Before commencing on any road trip, it is important to research the route and potential destinations beforehand. Delhi to Udaipur by car presents several options when it comes to diversions and sightseeing.

There are several websites which provide driving routes, estimated travel times, and other helpful tips for travelers. Here is the best route for Delhi to Udaipur Road Trip according to Google Maps. Familiarizing oneself with maps of the region can be an invaluable resource when planning a road trip.

Researching nearby attractions, facilities and local culture can also be helpful in deciding upon the most appropriate stops on a road trip. There may be hidden gems or cool features which lie off the main route which can add value to the experience.

Knowing key details such as speed limits of highways, approximate petrol costing in the region and certain facilities that might be available enroute could save time and add convenience during a journey. Also, analyzing seasonal climate along one’s chosen route ahead could result in an even more enjoyable drive for one’s family or friends.

Estimate the distance and time

When planning a road trip, it is important to understand the distance and time that it will take to get to your destination. The total distance between Delhi and Udaipur is about 610 km (380 mi). Depending on traffic and the route you take, you may expect the trip to take approximately 10-12 hours of driving time.

In addition, it is important to plan for unexpected delays such as bad weather or traffic jams. You can account for this by adding additional cushion time in your departure plans. To avoid delays, research various routes online – one useful website is Google Maps – and plan around peak travel times or other congestion points on your route.

It’s also a good idea to check your car’s oil level and tire pressure before starting the journey and make sure that you stop for rest breaks throughout the drive. Be sure you have plenty of food and water with you, as well as extra supplies such as blankets or a first aid kit in case of an emergency. Lastly, be sure to follow all applicable rules and regulations of the road during your journey.

Decide on the mode of transportation

mode of transport for road trip

When you are planning a trip, it’s important to decide on and research the mode of transportation that will best suit your needs and budget. Depending on the length and destination of your journey, different options can present various benefits.

If you’re travelling within your own country, then driving or taking public transportation may be your best bet. While driving offers the convenience of having your own car available and being able to travel on your own schedule, it can also lead to higher costs such as fuel and accommodation if you’re making a multi-day trip. Public transportation is often more affordable but can pose practical challenges due to varying timings and connections.

If you’re travelling internationally, then consider taking a plane or boat if possible. When choosing between these two options, consider factors like cost, travel time, destinations available via that particular mode of transport, any additional stops necessary for changing carriers or routes along the way etc.

Ultimately, take some time to research your different options before deciding which one works best for both your budget and schedule.

Book accommodation

accomodation in udaipur

When it comes to accommodation there are a few things you should consider. First and foremost, decide on your budget. This will help you narrow down your options, as luxury hotels tend to be more expensive than budget-friendly alternatives like hostels and Airbnbs.

Next, decide whether or not you would like access to certain amenities. Consider if you’ll need a kitchenette or laundry facilities so that you can save money by preparing meals in the suite and washing clothes rather than going out for food or paying for professional laundry services.

Finally, establish where in the city is best for your accommodations; think about distance from local attractions, public transportation and other points of interest during your stay. With these factors in mind, do your research and narrow down the field by checking online reviews from reliable sources such as Trip Advisor.

When you are preparing for a road trip, it is essential to carefully plan and pack your items. Packing efficiently will help you enjoy your road trip to the fullest. In this guide, we will go through what essential items you should bring and how to pack them. This can help ensure that you are well-prepared for your Delhi to Udaipur Road trip.

Prepare a list of essentials

things to carry on a road trip

Preparing for a road trip can be exciting. An ideal packing list should include the following items:

  • Clothing: Bring enough outfits for each day of the trip and an extra set in case of emergencies. Choose clothes that are comfortable and weather-appropriate, as well as accessories to enhance your look.
  • Toiletries: Remember to bring shampoo, conditioner, towels, and other personal grooming items. Remember to bring along sunscreen, insect repellent, lip balm and any other items you might need to stay safe from the elements during your journey.
  • Food: Prepare snacks such as trail mix, granola bars, fresh vegetables or fruits which can be consumed while on the go. You can also pack some food items that don’t spoil easily like nuts and dried fruits which will give you more energy throughout your journey.
  • Electronics: Charge all your cellphones, laptop/tablets at home so that they will last through the whole trip without needing any recharge during travel time. Bring along earphones if necessary for personal music listening while travelling by car/bus/train etc., if allowed by authorities in different states.
  • First aid kit: A first aid kit is essential on any road trip in case you get hurt or need medical care due to some unforeseen circumstances or sickness during travel hours which can’t be delayed until after reaching your destination. Make sure this contains all necessary items like bandages of diverse sizes and shapes; antiseptic cream; over the counter medications for headache and diarrhea relief, cotton buds, gauze bandage etc.
  • Maps and GPS device: Invest in a GPS device for ease of navigation throughout your entire journey as this will help you save time with accurate route advice taking into account current traffic conditions and forecasts from driving conditions enroute from Delhi to Udaipur hassle free

For a road trip, it is important to pack light and smart. The key is to pack only what you need and make sure you have room for those unplanned souvenirs or unexpected weather conditions. Before you start packing, prepare an itinerary so you know what kind of activities and clothes you may need. It’s also a good idea to check the forecast of the destination.

When deciding what to pack for your trip, lay out all the items on a bed or floor so that you can see all that’s necessary. Identifying what not to bring can be just as helpful as making sure not to forget any crucial items—not having too much means there’s less weight for each traveler in the car. A great tip is using packing cubes so that each person’s items are organized and easy to reach when needed. Things like travel-sized toiletries and multi-purpose clothing pieces are always ideal when trying not to overpack.

Be sure to check TSA (Transportation Security Administration) regulations before packing your belongings—they will save you time when passing through security checkpoints at airports or other destinations along the road trip route. If flying, pay close attention to liquids restrictions and flight airline bag limits too! Always remember: quality over quantity is key when it comes to packing light.

Pack snacks and drinks

When you’re driving for an extended period of time, it is important to ensure you have plenty of snacks and drinks for the journey. The specific type of snacks and drinks you pack will depend on your dietary requirements, but some ideas are: -Snacks: granola bars, nuts, crackers, chips (either store-bought or homemade), popcorn, protein bars or energy balls -Drinks: water bottles, juice boxes or cans (have a variety of flavors to choose from) tea/coffee sachets or decaf drinks

It’s also a good idea to stay hydrated during your road trip so carry a travel thermos and fill it up each morning with your favorite hot drink. This will help keep you energized throughout the day. Additionally, if you are taking younger children along for the ride, packing some healthy snacks like trail mix or fruit slices is great for keeping them occupied as well.

On the Road

The Delhi to Udaipur Road trip is an exciting adventure that takes you through some of the most incredible sights India has to offer. From historical monuments to lush green forests and stunning waterfalls, there’s something for everyone. This complete guide will tell you about all the must-see stops along the way, what you should know before you go, and all the tips you need to make your journey even more memorable.

Stop at points of interest

If you’re planning a road trip, points of interest along the way are a great way to break up the monotony and add some fun to your journey. Whether you’re looking for natural wonders, historical sites, monuments, or even pop culture references, there is likely something enroute that will be of interest to you. It’s always a good idea to check out what sort of attractions dot the map between your start and end points.

Natural wonders can include unusual rock formations, beautiful waterfalls and lakes, world famous architecture. Historical sites could include old battlespaces with memorials and monuments or museum visits that allow exploration of various parts of history. Visiting properties which were the original sources for inspirational stories can spark new imagination too. Quaint towns where movie scenes were filmed may also appear as points of interest – you could even visit locations within cities associated with famous people who once lived there.

No two journeys are exactly alike but being open to discovering unplanned points of interests along the way is all part of the excitement when traveling by car!

Take photos

Capture moments as you go along your way. Photograph places, people and events to create lasting memories. Taking photos is one of the best ways to express yourself and remember experiences. Here are some tips on how to take great photos while you’re on the road:

-Be prepared – charge up your camera and review any settings that need adjusting before you start your trip.

-Choose your shooting location wisely – Find a spot with great lighting or a unique angle that will help bring out the best in each shot.

-Make sure your subject looks natural – The best photos of people don’t always have them posed in unnatural poses. Focus on capturing authentic expressions.

-Use different perspectives – Mix it up by capturing close ups, wide shots and occasionally switch points of view (i.e.: ground level or overhead). Don’t just always stand at eye level

-Think about timing – Be mindful of when something might be a bit more scenic. For example shoot in low light during sunsets or golden hour for warm, vibrant tones in photos

Enjoy the scenery

The scenery that awaits you during your Delhi to Udaipur Road trip is beautiful. You’ll pass through charming, rustic villages as well as breathtaking forests. Landmarks such as the Fateh Sagar Lake, Badi Lake, Motisar Lake and National Chambal Sanctuary are all worth a detour and will make for great photo opportunities.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled while driving as wildlife sightings aren’t uncommon. You can spot antelopes, gazelles and wild boars along the way. Great accommodations are also available throughout the drive, so it’s easy to stop and rest when you need to stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery. As long as you remain mindful of speed limits and other common-sense travel protocols, this road trip will remain enjoyable for everyone in the vehicle!

Accommodation

Accommodation is an important part of any road trip, and especially when traveling to Udaipur. Fortunately, there are plenty of lodging options available in the city. Whether you’re looking for a budget hotel or a luxury resort, you can find something that fits your needs. Let’s take a closer look at some of the accommodation options for your Delhi to Udaipur road trip.

Choose the right type of accommodation

With so many types of lodging on offer, it can be difficult to decide what kind of accommodation would be the best fit for your trip. In this guide, we’ll explore the different types of accommodation available and discuss some of the key factors you should consider when choosing one.

Hotel – Most hotels provide basic amenities such as a bed, bathroom, mini-fridge and television. Some hotels may also include extra features such as a gym, pool or restaurant. Hotels are usually more expensive than other types of accommodations and often come with higher rates for certain times of the year.

Motel – Motels are great if you’re looking for an inexpensive option with fast access to parks and attractions nearby. Bedrooms are typically soundproofed and will likely have basic amenities such as a bed, bathroom and television.

Hostel – Hostels offer shared rooms with other travelers at discounted prices compared to hotels or motels; they’re an ideal choice if you’re travelling alone or on a tight budget. Room arrangements vary depending on the hostel; some may offer dormitory-style rooms while others have private rooms with ensuite bathrooms and showers. Common features can include reception areas, laundry facilities, lounges and common areas for socializing with fellow guests.

Bed & Breakfast – A b&b is a private residence that offers meals such as breakfast during select times throughout your stay. Many b&bs also offer extra perks that you may not find in other accommodation choices; some may include home cooked meals or complimentary tea/coffee upon arrival along with access to common areas like sitting rooms which provide an inviting atmosphere for families or couples staying together.

Camping / Campsite – For those interested in more rustic lodging options there is camping/campsite accommodation available at designated campsites across countries worldwide; this type of housing involves setting up a tent in one of these designated spots which often come equipped with amenities including electricity points, showers and fire-pits – all at very low rates compared to hotels or resorts.

You can choose from wilderness campsites where nature is untouched by human hands (eager to see animals in their natural habitat?), caravan parks which typically offer more convenient services like RV (recreational vehicle) rentals alongside traditional tents set ups OR luxury safari tents equipped with all sorts of creature comforts like air conditioners!

Check for amenities

When you’re planning a road trip, many different factors come into play. One of the most important details is making sure that the accommodations along your route are comfortable and well-equipped with all the amenities you’ll need. To ensure that you have an enjoyable experience, it’s important to make sure to check for amenities before booking.

Amenities can vary from place to place and often include items such as air conditioning, wifi access, bedding and towels, laundry facilities, a kitchen or kitchenette complete with cookware, an outdoor pool or hot tub, and a fitness center. If these amenities are not available at the location you are considering booking, then make sure to ask questions to be certain that all the necessities of your stay will be taken care of.

It is also important to consider other amenities when booking accommodations during your road trip including smoking areas or non-smoking areas depending on preference; pet-friendly rooms; public areas where luggage may be stored while exploring; accessible rooms for people with mobility issues; a convenient onsite restaurant; parking facilities; shuttle services to nearby attractions; and additional activities such as sightseeing tours or complimentary coffee in the morning. By taking these factors into consideration you can ensure that you have a pleasant experience during your stay.

Read reviews

When searching for accommodation, it’s wise to read reviews from people who have stayed there before. Reading online reviews can give you an idea of what others thought of the property, location, amenities and more. Reviews are a good way to find out specific information that may not be included in the description provided by the host. They can also help you decide if a place is right for you or if there are better options available.

When reading reviews, pay attention to the date they were posted and look for any recent feedback from guests that recently stayed at the accommodation. You should also consider if a place has multiple bad reviews or is only receiving one-star ratings, as this could be an indication of potential issues with your stay.

Additionally, take into account whether or not there were exceptions that may have influenced someone’s review (e.g., uncooperative staff) since these types of guest experiences don’t necessarily reflect the quality of all stays at the same property.

When it comes to planning a road trip, safety should always be the top priority. Safety includes choosing a reliable vehicle and ensuring it is roadworthy, planning ahead and ensuring you have the right supplies for your journey, as well as following local traffic laws and regulations. In this section, let’s explore how you can ensure a safe and enjoyable Delhi to Udaipur Road Trip.

Have a first aid kit

Having a first aid kit on hand is an essential safety measure for any home or workplace. A first aid kit should contain all of the necessary items to treat minor, yet serious injuries such as cuts, scrapes, burns and other physical trauma. It should also include more basic items such as bandages, antiseptic wipes, alcohol swabs and cold compresses.

There are many different types of medical supplies that I recommend having in your first aid kit, including sterile gauze pads of various sizes; adhesive bandages in various shapes and sizes; antiseptic ointments or creams; tweezers; scissors; safety pins or paper clips (to hold dressings); pain relievers such as aspirin and ibuprofen; an ICE pack (for sprains and muscle pain), etc., depending on what kinds of eventualities you think you may be facing.

Make sure to stock your kit with fresh items every now and again to ensure the best possible results when treating an injury.

Be aware of the local laws

India is a country that follows numerous rules and regulations, which vary depending on the region you are visiting or travelling in. Udaipur, like any other city, has its own local laws which visitors should take note of. Before travelling to this destination, it is imperative that you understand the local laws and be conscious of possible consequences for not following them.

It is important for everyone travelling to Udaipur to check with their own embassy in India to find out what the expected laws and customs entail. While on your Delhi-Udaipur Road Trip, observe posted speed limits closely and make sure all passengers have seat belts fastened at all times.

It is also essential for everyone to keep their passports, permits, visas and other documents safely by always carrying a copy whenever travelling outside of the city. Furthermore, visitors who plan to drive themselves should know that most Indian cities do not allow driving on the left side of the road as required in some other countries.

When travelling in Udaipur or anywhere else within India, you will also be subject to national laws such as no alcohol consumption while driving even if a bottle is sealed or open; no carrying weapons; no drugs use; respect locals’ religious observances; avoid littering; and taking pictures only after asking somebody’s permission first.

All travelers should be aware that police often patrol public areas looking for violations of these kinds of regulations so be sure to adhere closely to all Indian rules both for your own safety and for the respect of the Indian culture.

Have a backup plan

No matter how much you plan your Delhi to Udaipur Road trip , it’s important to always have a backup plan. When you’re traveling from Delhi to Udaipur, it’s easy to get side-tracked by tourist attractions or hit traffic along the way. A good idea is to pack an emergency kit filled with few essentials such as a first aid kit, flashlight and spare car parts (e.g., fan belts, hoses), so that you can respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Have a good idea of where you’ll stay each night in case your trip takes longer than planned and always research rest stops ahead of time in case of car trouble or sickness. Make sure that every passenger has their own phone with plenty of battery life—this is one of the best safety tips for road trips.

Finally, be aware of all potential risks along the way and have a back-up route that avoids dangerous areas if necessary. Keep these tips in mind and enjoy an exciting Delhi to Udaipur road trip.

Top 5 airlines flying to udaipur.

My wife with 5 month son were traveling. No proper support was provided for luggage handling. Although it was requested in prior. My wife sole manage everything and was not as expected.

This was an old 320 without a screen or USB charging port even in the business class. The food could have been better.

a real good flying experince. Everything was excellent right from check-in to baggage collection at destination.

Food is tasting bad, and it is a fusion but not authentic.

Excellent experience and now my preferred airline. Even a fantastic meal with dessert in a 2 hour flight.

off late the crew and the air in the flight is becoming that of a budget airline not the earlier Vistara .

It wasn't clear from where to board flight international or domestic Airport

Information was not clear from where to check in international or domestic Airport at Ahmedabad.

The deplaning experience was bad, since they did not get the aerobridge at Madras on arrival and the bus felt like a local train during office hour rush

i bought a biz class fare but a few days before vistara always changes my biz class flight to economy .. happened to me 4 times .. seated could be wider .. boarding could be more organized .. crew did their best but not enough resources all in all very poor experience

Indigo attempts to make you pay for a seat during check in. I opted to not do this. The result - they allotted me and my minor son seats apart. In the interest of making maximum money, they seem to have lost common sense too. Similarly, even during the flight, the crew are busy trying to serve food to those who’ve already paid for it. By the time they’re done, it’s time to land and no one else is able to get anything. Sadly this seems to be what makes them profitable, customers just need to bear with it till a better airline comes along.

As usual invariably delayed Lots of time in getting chkd in baggage

Staff needs to be trained in managing customers better. Indigo appears to be a low cost airlines in all aspects.

Flight was delayed and also lots of mosquitoes on the flight

Two times the gate was changed and flight got delayed

INDIGO Never On Time & Always Prefer to Shuttle Passengers Like shuttle Corks

I did not like the communication gap existing amongst the staff and the customer. My flight to Nagpur was delayed by two and half hours but it was informed to me on email ( not by W.A. or SMS) when I have already left my home in Baner area. I was painfully detained at airport with luggage when the gate no. 10 was changed to 5. I'll never recommend your flight to anybody.

Seats don't recline, no charging points. New aircraft and very clean. Crew should serve some water atleast.

Wife and I were seated in separate seats across the aisle

There was inordinate delay without any plausible reason. This has become a normal feature of Indigo now a days.

I have been an NRI living abroad for the last 35 years, but I had one of my worst experiences recently at the Dharbhanga airport, especially with the ground staff. Their behavior was very rude; one of the staff members almost abused me and charged me extra for my laptop and cable that I was carrying from Dharbhanga to Delhi, where I had an international flight. Despite being careful with the weight limits, the ground staff treated me very poorly, making it one of the worst flying experiences of my life.

Staff could have been helpful when traveling with kids and seniors. Not at all professional staff, just some janitors who do not understand hospitality. The food was horrible; the tomatoes tasted foul. The flight was small and the legroom was not good.

Flight was changed without proper monitor display. Boarding process was confusing with no announcements.

Flight arrived on time even though boarding and takeoff were delayed. No infant seatbelt provided. Crew was a bit indifferent. Baggage was damaged and representatives refused to write up a damage report.

IGI T-1 terminal is under renovation. So, the boarding and check in process took extremely long, due to reduced number of kiosks. Further, the flight was delayed by 1 hour 15 mins. The same was not being properly informed to the passengers because of which a feeling of slight chaos was evident amongst the passengers. All this further increased the discomfort, which was already in the menu due to the ATR aircraft. Lastly, the Spicescreen website wasn't working properly due to pathetic interface and poor wifi connectivity, which otherwise could have been a pass-time during the flight. Such issues were not expected from Spicejet and need to be taken care and handled in a better manner in future.

The flight 3 time delay I was so nervous and full tired

Flight cancelled without notice at the 11th hour, refund not done now one week passed

Timing Should be Accurate to Fly Flight was Delay By 3 hrs

Fly has been canceled 3 hours before departure. That happens after 2 delayed departures. No automatic compensation. Spicejet refused to give us compensation form. Bad service.

Landing at Delhi IGI AIRPORT was not smooth. It made us bit nervous. Then the rest was ok. Staff and the crew are very efficient.

Mediocre staff, crappy food selections and no entertainment for a 14 hour flight. The only good thing was that it was a direct flight.

Not comfortable for sitting. Sits are too close to each other and it’s too hard for butt..you need to improve your entertainment section like tv programming, Movies, it’s so hard to kill 15 hrs in long flights .you don’t serve good food like other competitive airlines thats my opinion

Comfortable seats, on time departures and arrival, and helping staff

On time boarding, proper information, friendly and cordial approach of staff, particularly crew members and the most important timely available of checked in baggage after arrival.

Air India need a big change of in all departments.

The aircraft was very old, felt like poor economy seats. Entertainment was not working. Plug point was broken. For the coat of a business class ticket, I was very disappointed and dissatisfied. Crew on flight to Mumbai were good, on way back they were mediocre

Bathrooms were horrible. No cleaning and floor was full of tissues. Understand that passengers responsibility to keep it clean but crew should check if tissues are there or not. Also, they announced that baggage will be at one carousel but came to a different one.

Upgradation in our flight seats made us happy. But the long time to catch connecting flight from Bombay to Hyderabad could have been avoided or shortened. Our was AI 116 from JFK NY to Bombay & A1619 from Mumbai to Hyd.

No first drink available for 10 hours so make it easy for beer or wine

Flight got canceled, didn’t help much to reschedule flights, rescheduled flights took more that 40 hours for me to reach back home, with lots of layover and didn’t provided lounge even they told to do so. TV in airline was not working either.

The seat belt was in shredded. It seems that no pre-boarding checks are done

Boarding was delayed. Taxing for take off was long. Touched down with a thud

There were no flight information on the screen and not even on the gate. I was very confused if I was in right gate

The checkin staff did a great job and were very easy to work with.

Delhi To Udaipur Trip | Under Rs 10,000 With Amazing Udaipur Experience

Udaipur view from Monsoon Palace

Delhi To Udaipur Trip – My next destination for you to travel is Udaipur. It can be visited under a budget of Rs 7000. You all have heard about Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is one of the best destinations for Women Solo Traveler.

WHY UDAIPUR : THE CITY OF LAKES?

There are around 10 lakes in the boundaries of Udaipur City  which are interconnected to each other. Out of which, most of the lakes are natural. Each lake has unique trait and rich history associated with it.

From boat rides on Lake Pichola to trek to a Bahubali Hill ,Udaipur has everything you want.

WHY VISIT UDAIPUR:-

Being a girl, I have faced many challenges while travelling. In my opinion, it is a safe city to explore for a girl. The place can also be enjoyed as the “All girls” trip or with friends and is also known as one of the good honeymoon destination.

If you are one of the lake person and cherish romantic walk along it, then Udaipur is the right place. Take yourself on a date to Udaipur.

Udaipur is well known for its history, culture, scenic locations and the Rajput-era palaces. The royal city is founded by Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia Clan of Rajput in 1558. It was formerly the capital of Mewar Kingdom. It is surrounded by the beautiful Aravelli Range which separates it from Thar Desert.

Travelers who are interested in history, culture, s cenic beauty and the Rajasthani authentic cuisines would love to spend their lovely weekend in Udaipur. One can enjoy the panoramic view of the royal city from the hill top.

The city is famous for series of artificial lakes and lavish royal residences. Moreover you can visit it in a budget of Rs 7000.

WHEN TO VISIT UDAIPUR:-

You can visit Udaipur from July to February . You can avoid going there from April to June as it is bit hot there. The best time to visit is in winters or Monsoon .

During rainy days, one can get the amazing view of the dams, rivers and especially the aerial view of the city from Monsoon Palace. I went to Udaipur during winters in the last of December. I had an amazing experience during that time.

HOW TO VISIT UDAIPUR:-

Udaipur is about 660 km from Delhi. There are several options to visit the place. There is a small domestic airport Maharana Pratap Airport, about 20 km from Udaipur. It is well connected to major cities in Rajasthan and the rest of India by Udaipur City Railway Station and Rana Pratap Nagar Railway Station.

I traveled to Udaipur by a Volvo bus which ranges from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500/person. I boarded the bus from Dhaula Kuan Bus Stand, Delhi at 11 pm. My friends and I reached the stand at 10 pm on Thursday night and waited at its Dhaula Kuan Metro Station Food Court. I

t is quite big and has numerous good food outlets and washrooms. A large number of people wait there for their respective buses. Below are the places where i visited during my trip to Udaipur under the budget of Rs 7000 only.

DAY 1: CITY PALACE, GHATS AND CABLE CARS

We reached Udaipur Bus stand at 9 am, Friday. We took one big Auto Rickshaw (three wheeler) having double sided seats. You would encounter only such kinds of Auto Rickshaws.

Sometimes it is fun to take such unusual rides. He charged us Rs 100/- to drop to our hotel Lavitra Resort . It was booked for Rs 3000/night for two person. The hotels are bit expensive in Udaipur. You always have an option to book a Hostel for a solo  traveler as they are cheaper.

I would advise you to book the hotel before hand.

Our hotel looks more like a Haveli . Actually most of the hotels in Udaipur are lookalike giving us a feeling of being in a place where Kings and Queens once lived. I feel amazed to know about the history of the place like what all had happened here where I am standing right now.

I know we must have read all these in our history books but who remembers that until you create your memory in the same place.

View from balcony of Lavitra Hotel

We had our breakfast in the hotel and got ready to explore the city. We booked one auto-rickshaw from outside the road and went to see the City Palace . It is said to be the largest royal complex in Rajasthan. The magnificent palace was built on the banks of Lake Pichola by the founder of Udaipur.

The King and their Successors used to live and administered from there. The Palace houses a number of courtyards, terraces, corridors, gardens and a museum with decorative furniture, antiques paintings and utensils of the Royal family. There is an entry fee of Rs 300/person.

Sunset View

Sunset View

After exploring the palace for 2-3 hours, we walked to Ambrai Ghat , also known as Manjhi Ghat . How calm and placid is to sit around the lake and enjoy the scenic view of Sunset!

The ghat was filled with many foreigners sitting and reading some books. A lot of foreigners visit Udaipur. You could find them all over the place as they love to see the royal city and culture of India.

You would always find a dog around when u talks about happiness. This time I found a cute puppy named Coco playing with all the tourists sitting on Ghat. You would also find a man playing some instrumental songs with traditional Sarangi and a lady selling artificial jewellery. It sounds so much pleasing to our ears.

Ambrai Ghat

While walking down the road we stopped to a shop which rents Scooty and Bike. We took a Scooty for Rs 500/day and gave a token amount of Rs 1000 and a copy of our Driving License. We went to the Mansapurna Karni Mata Temple to take a rope way ride. We bought our tickets for Rs 90/person. The ticket has a number on it which is displayed on the screens.

In one cable car, only 6 people can accommodate so there was a huge queue. Our number is late so we had sweet corn from the stalls around and strolled to a big leisure park in front of it. The park has different types of swings and worth clicking.

Moreover, we get a stunning view of City Palace from the top of the park. We spent our waiting time beautifully appreciating the elegance of the surroundings.

We went back to the Gondola ride (cable car ) which took 5 minutes to hilltop providing a spectacular view of the whole Udaipur. There is a food court above the hill which offers different cuisines.

We had our tea and some snacks while star gazing from the top. The sky was clear enough to watch the various constellations and stars. The cable car took us back. We went back to our hotel and had our dinner.

DAY 2: SHILPGRAM AND TREK TO BAHUBALI HILL

The next morning we got up and went to the terrace to enjoy the sunrise and the parrots around. We did some yoga there to relax ourselves and went outside down the lane to have poha, onion and dal kachori. They are quite famous breakfast in Rajasthan. We took our scooty to enjoy the Shilpgram Festival . It is a cultural festival which happens annually from 21 st Dec to 31 st Dec.

There is an entry fee of Rs 20/person. It portraits the lifestyle, art, culture and heritage of rural and sub urban parts of Western India. We witness several items which used to present and quite famous in past time.

We enjoyed the folk dance, camel ride and different famous food items. I tried a new sweet dish called Malaio which tastes like a cream and very sweet and yummy. We spend 2 to 3 hours and went to Badi Lake .

Shilpgram Festival

Shilpgram Festival

Taking right turn from Badi Lake and asking locals to direct us to a temple, we reached a trek to a hill called Bahubali Hill . It is less known and a hidden gem for the nature lover.

On the way to it, you will see free-falling water from some parts of the hill. Many were seen clicking pictures of the view. On reaching bahubali hill, you will experience a breathtaking height with a mesmerizing panorama of the lake.

You will encounter hills in the middle of lake called Crocodile hump hill. A number of crocodiles are said to be seen in the lake, so don’t try swimming in it. Get lost in the tranquil beauty and enjoy the incredible sunset from hilltop.

We went down the hill and had omelette Maggi and tea from a vendor selling them while cold breeze blowing along the way. This always comes to rescue when you tired. We returned to our hotel after finishing our dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 3: MONSOON PALACE AND BOATING

The next day we checked out from our hotel around 11 am and asked them to keep our bags there till we returned back. We went to Monsoon Palace, also called Sajjangarh Palace . It is located on one of the hilltops of Aravalli. It gives you a spectacular vista of the entire city of Udaipur, its lakes, forts and palaces.

It was originally planned to make it a five-storey astronomical centre and to keep track of the movement of monsoon clouds in the area surrounding the palace. But after the premature death of Maharana, it was used as a hunting lodge for the royal family.

One can witness the fascinating architecture with big balconies and pillars. The palace is built on marble pillars, which are carved with exquisite pattern of flowers and leaves. It is always worth a visit.

Monsoon Palace

Monsoon Palace

We returned from the palace and went straight to Lake Pichola for boating. There is a multitude of boating options available and each has a different price. After waiting in a queue for 5 minutes, we opted for Motorboat which costs us Rs 200/person.

There were around 20 people in the boat. The boat driver asked us to wear Life Jacket for safety purpose as the lake is quite deep. The boat ride started from Rameshwar Ghat , took us to Lake Palace and then to Jagmandir where we spent some time appreciating the scenic views. It was 20 minutes to 30 minutes magical ride which left us spellbound.

We felt hungry after our ride and thought to have some authentic Rajasthani food. We searched and found one of the best local restaurant Krishna Dal Bati Restro which serves yummy Rajasthani plate with all the famous food items.

I bet you would not find the cheapest and yummiest thali. She charged us Rs 150/plate and Rs 250 for 2 plates. The plate has Dal Batti Churma , Gatte (Besan) Ki Sabzi , 2-3 more Sabzi, Papad, Raita and some sweet and everything is unlimited. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant.

BIDDING BYE TO UDAIPUR

We had some time to catch our bus at 7 pm so we went to the local market enjoying our last scooter ride. There is a time pass snack called Chana Zor Garam available everywhere in Udaipur which blown my taste buds.

Many of the vendors were selling it in every nook and corner. I had it all the three days and bought it home at well. Whenever you go, do remember to taste it. We bade bye to Udaipur and boarded our bus from Hotel Amrith, Reti Stand , near the Income Tax Office.

SUMMARY & CONCLUSION

Udaipur is one of the finest places to visit. This is my story of how I enjoyed my trip to Udaipur.  Now it’s the time for you to create yours. Visit here again when I shall be back with more happening places of our country.

Do remember to join our Facebook group , where we help , share all our travel experience with the community.

WHAT’S GOOD AND NOT SO GOOD

To be very honest, i would say there are a number of many more places to visit in Udaipur but these are the best ones. You would make good memories here and know the culture of Udaipur as well.

The hotel food would be bit expensive and may not activate your taste buds. Rather go for the street foods and rajasthani thali. Check out government website on Udaipur for all official information.

Top airline flying from Udaipur to New Delhi

A bit about us and our plans: a couple in their early 30s. We're keen on exploring temples, architecture, markets, national parks, seeing animals, and meeting people. Our style is rather mixed, not low-budget but not exclusive either - we prefer cheaper hotels. We definitely prefer organizing trips and outings ourselves - I'd rather go with a local once there than hire travel agencies to organize my time. I've read most of the threads about India here, but I have a few questions:

1. Is it better to fly to New Delhi and return home from there, or maybe travel from Delhi to Mumbai and return home from there?

2. Can we travel by train - do they have good connections ?. I think to and from New Delhi and Mumbai should be available from anywhere in the country?.

3. I found two interesting routes here: Amritsar -Delhi- Varanasi -Khajuraho-Orchha- Agra - Jaipur - Udaipur and

Delhi-Alsisar- Bikaner - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur -Udaipur- Pushkar -Jaipur-Agra-Orccha-Khajuraho-Varanasi-Delhi.

4. Both routes lead through the northern part of the country; is it worth heading south to Mumbai or Goa in such a short time of three weeks?

5. Is it worth visiting Jhalana Safari, or can someone recommend another nature park?

6. Is it worth considering other routes, places to stay that have made a big impression on someone?

7. Do funerals in Varanasi take place every day except holidays?

8. On which reliable website can I check and buy a train ticket?

9. Any other good means of transportation in India besides trains and planes?

Regards and thank you in advance for any tips and suggestions,

Marcin and Patrycja

I suggest you this program, you will see a lot

In these three weeks, you can enjoy a lot of North India along with Central India and Mumbai, in this, you can see the Varanasi Ganga .

If you like this itinerary then you can follow it. It is suitable for you for three weeks and you will get a lot of experience in it. You will meet local people, you can see forts, and palaces in Rajasthan , and you will get desert and wildlife in Rajasthan. You will also get to see a lot of interesting Itinerary. If you like then you can follow it. It is more convenient than a flight , it can save you time. Domestic flights are not so expensive if you book in advance.

TripAdvisor is a very good platform. Here travelers get a lot of help. There are reliable tour operators, travel agents, and car rentals . All the information listed on TripAdvisor is verified, so check it and choose your favorite tour operator. confirm tour.

India Tour Guide & Driver, Agra Taj Tour

Namaste Marcin and Patrycja,

You can be possibly to organize the trip by yourself but you can consider seeking help of an expert for a better experience

Entering to Rajasthan you can choose New Delhi for arrival and you can you can choose Mumbai as departure destination after visiting South / Goa .

Yes, traveling by train is the most economical option but hiring a private vehicle and a driver is also an option and both Delhi and Mumbai are well connected by Train and Air route

You can sequence the route as follows

Arrive Delhi - Alsisar or Mandawa - Bikaner - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Udaipur - Pushkar - Jaipur - Agra - Agra – Jhansi (Train) – Khajuraho (via Orchha visit) – Varanasi

Varanasi – Delhi ( Flight )

Delhi – Amritsar (Train)

Amritsar - Dharamshala

Dharamshala - Shimla

Shimla - Kalka ( Toy Train ) - Delhi (Train)

The number of days can be +/1 based on your interest

To cover all the destinations north, central, and south in three weeks is not recommended however the sequence after visiting north can be Mumbai - south and Goa

Yes, Jhalana Leopard Safari is worth visiting however July, August and September are considered breeding times for wildlife and it can fewer chances of sighting wild animals

6. Is it worth considering other routes, and places to stay that have made a big impression on someone?

In Rajasthan, there are so many rural sites and you may consider visiting Ranthambhore

Yes, it's every day

The only authorized Indian Railway website to see, book, and search trains - https://www.irctc.co.in/nget/train-search

Private car and drivers is the best option to travel between the destinations and Bus is also an option to travel between the destinations but most destinations in Rajasthan do not with air-conditioner bus service

2. Trains are a great way to travel, BUT you MUST reserve well in advance (4 months) to secure berths on popular trains. Info here: https://www.seat61.com/India.htm. Book yourself on https://irctc.co.in, which is the official site allowing you to book any train in India . But you must register first (some foreigners have trouble with this, but many manage it!). Or ask a reputable agent like @Raj_trainticket on this forum to book your trains for you.

3/4. Interesting routes, but you may wish for some downtime ( Goa is perfect for this!) and/or to see a different part of India (Mumbai/Goa). Try and include somewhere away from the noise/smells/chaos of Indian cities.

5. Never heard of Jhalana Safari. Ranthambore National Park is close to your Rajasthan stops and Corbett NP is north of Delhi.

6. India will make a big impression on you I guarantee! But if you want to experience a contrast from the northern plains, fly down to Kerala (Fort Cochin , backwaters cruise , etc) and fly home from Kochi or Trivandrum. Or spend a bit of time up in the Himalayas or foothills thereof.

7. Funeral pyres in Varanasi are pretty much constant such is demand. Do NOT photograph them!

8. See my answer 2 above. I stress again to book early.

9. Some places are only accessible by road. I don't recommend public buses, so arrange a car transfer via your hotels for those particular sectors (i.e. where no railway, or inconvenient timing of trains) e.g. national parks.

Those itineraries all include a huge number of different places, which will involve a lot of travelling about.

Maybe cut some of the places so you can have a bit longer in each?

Do consider Madhya Pradesh as part of this tour. I really enjoyed Gwalior & Orchha. Trains are easy to use and readily booked via an account on IRCTC.
