Every night at Lanificio 25 may be something different, so check their online schedule. Small, local bands often perform, and you might hear a DJ playing everything from metal to alternative. Up for an art show? Maybe a play? This is the place.

Getting Around

There is no shortage of ways to get around in Naples. However, the one way you don’t want to take is a rental car or other vehicle that you will be driving. The city is very hectic and many local drivers can be aggressive. Most visitors won’t be used to driving in the kind of traffic they have in Naples.

One of the best ways to get from place to place is just walking. This is especially true if you are seeing many attractions within the same district. Be sure to find out how many hills you may have to walk up before setting out though.

Within the city, you will also find a well-designed bus and subway system. These are often crowded but they make for an easy way to get from place to place. If heading out of the city, trains are the way to go.

In many cities, visitors are warned about not taking cabs. In Naples, however, they are an affordable way to get around and cabbies are very knowledgeable. Cabbies in Naples are usually very friendly, and fair when it comes to the meter.

We will also be arriving to the Amalfi Coast via train with 3 big luggages and maybe a stroller. I am not sure which train station we will be at, but do we need to rent a car there to go between the villages? If yes, where can we rent it from?

Re lodging: you need to check availability ASAP to find whatever is still available within your budget. Maiori has a fairly sandy beach. Positano’s is composed of coarse large-grained gravel and pebbles/stones. Plus, it’s a total zoo. Try a site such as http://www.booking.com with your specific dates.

Vietri Sul Mare also has large beaches - for the area.

If you really want beaches, maybe consider staying on Ischia (island) off the coast - http://www.ischiareview.com

They Amalfi Coast villa ges are all super small and mostly pedestrian - it is basically about relaxing and not sure besides the beach and boat rides, you might want as "family friendly" - it is the same as most seaside destinations but much much smaller.

Kids are welcome and fine anywhere; it will be very hot in August so swimming, beach, boat rides are likely to be the most appealing things to do. Hiking is in the area but in that heat, it can be challenging.

Have back up things for the kids - books/tablets/whatever they like if there is a bad weather day(s)
