Ireland Pub Tour:
Discover the dramatic coastal scenery of the uncrowded and charming Connemara region that maintains so many of the wonderful traditions of Ireland. View the majestic Cliffs of Moher and the stunning Killarney National Park as your experienced driver/guide ensures a vacation that has your unique pace, interests, and schedule in mind. Prefer to linger a bit here, have “one more round” there – not a problem. For inspiration, we’ve set out a sample itinerary below, but let us customize this tour for you to ensure you have just the sort of Ireland vacation you’ve dreamed of.
Pub Tour Itinerary
Overnight: Park House, Galway with breakfast included.
Today sit back and enjoy a scenic ride in the beautiful Connemara area. You’ll see lovely coves, bays, and fishing villages along the way. There’s plenty of choices in the coastal town of Clifden to enjoy a pint and lunch. Lowry’s Bar serves Connemara smoked salmon. You might want to visit the Kylemore Abbey and Garden, or Cong; famous for the Quietman movie. Back in Galway for the evening check out more of the pubs for an evening of “Craic”. If you’re traveling through Galway Naughtons is a must-visit while you’re in town and come highly recommended by Isle Inn Tours’ resident “Galway Girl”. Naughtons is one of the best pubs in Galway city, located on the corner of Cross St. and Quay St. in the heart of the Latin Quarter. With it’s interior mostly unchanged since 1894 this pub is full of tradition and is regularly the scene of impromptu traditional music sessions. They serve a great pint of Guinness! And they stock over 130 whiskeys, so there’s another reason to visit.
Today you’ll continue your Pub Tour heading south to Killarney. Don’t miss the iconic Cliff’s of Moher with their breathtaking 700 ft cliffs. Close to the Cliff’s of Moher is the historic mysterious Burren National park and the charming little town of Doolin where you’ll want to stop for lunch. Continuing on to Killarney if time permits stop in at Foynes Flight Museum. You’ll learn the history of how the first Irish Coffee in Ireland was invented and have the opportunity to enjoy one of the delicious brews. Check into the Great Southern Hotel and get ready for another evening of fun in this exciting little town full of pubs. The Whiskey Corner , Situated in a corner of the Punchbowl Bar has a whiskey tasting bar that is exquisite. Featuring over 190 of the world’s finest whiskies, you can try several with their whiskey flights (three samplings of whiskey, five different types of flights to choose from) No idea where to begin with whiskey? Don’t worry! The staff is more than happy to help you choose the perfect tipple.
Overnight: The Great Southern Hotel, Killarney with breakfast included.
There’s plenty to do in the Killarney area. Perhaps you’ll start out with a jaunting cart ride. You’ll have a hard time deciding on the beautiful Ring of Kerry or the gorgeous Dingle Peninsula. Whichever you choose, your day will be full and you’ll have many pubs along the way. If you choose the Dingle Peninsula you might want to check out Foxy John’s which comes highly recommended. One side of the bar is a hardware store, the other is the pub! Where else could you leave with a pound of nails after a drink! It’s a must-see!
Today you’ll be traveling from Killarney to Dublin. There’s plenty to see along the way, but if you’re interested in castles, tell your driver you’d like to see Rock of Cashel and Kilkenny Castle. The views at the “Top of the Rock” are breathtaking. In Kilkenny you have lots of options. You could visit the Medieval 12th century Kilkenny Castle, tour the Smithwick’s Experience and have a pint of Smithwick’s beer, or take a walking tour and see the beautiful stained glass windows of the Black Abbey. When you arrive in Dublin say Good-Bye to your Chauffeur driver. You’ll now be on your own to check out the plethora of pubs in Dublin. The lively Temple Bar area on Fleet Street is a great place to start your pub tour of Dublin.
Overnight: The Fitzwilliam Hotel, 5 Star Dublin City Center
Depart Dublin airport for your return flight – be sure to allow time for for last minute duty-free shopping and airport check-in – including US Passport and Boarder Control formalities and TSA clearance – about 3 hours before departure to avoid feeling rushed.

This is a must do trip when you visit Dublin! Shane was great, a very funny man with a smashing sense of humour, he took us into the heart of Dublin! The craic and the people we met were fab! I would definitely recommend this pub tour and would give it 10 stars if I could.
An excellent time all round, Shane was a brilliant host and the choice of pubs and quality of the beverage was exceptional. Highly recommended!
This tour was one of the most fun and memorable experiences we had in Dublin. We met locals, heard live music, tasted some amazing adult beverages and to top it all off, the gent who was our guide, Shane, was so entertaining and fun. We just had a great, great time.
We had an awesome time and the last pub was our favorite - so fun and great music and great company. The tour was perfect amount of time and 3 pubs enough to enjoy the music and atmosphere of each!
This was a great adventure out of the crowded touristy areas of Dublin. Shane is awesome. Full of so much knowledge about the beers and whiskeys of Ireland all with the fun Irish humour. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening out (solo traveler) and met some great people in the group. Great to get out of the overpriced touristy bits and see some real pubs!
By far the most fun and entertaining tour of our trip. Shane is an awesome tour guide with his fun Irish wit, sense of humor, and dedication to his guests having a great time. And we learned a bit of history along the way:) A must for anyone visiting! Plan on taking the tour again when we return next month!

Tour itinerary
Day 1 - dublin to kilkenny.
After collecting your rental car, your Irish Tourism itinerary will direct you as far as Kilkenny where your vacation begins. Often referred to as ‘Ireland’s Medieval Capital’ Kilkenny has a varied collection of pubs for you to enjoy, some are tranquil sanctuaries to engage in pleasant conversations and others are contemporary hot-spots well known for late night sessions. On route to Kilkenny from Dublin there are a number of places that you might wish to stop. The National Stud & Japanese Gardens for example has been a stop for many the horse enthusiast since the early 1900’s. Here you will find a museum detailing the history of the horse in Ireland, the stud farm itself where race horses are conceived, born and raised and the magnificent Japanese Gardens, regarded by many the seasoned traveller as the finest of their kind in Europe. Characterised by superbly renovated old buildings, Kilkenny City is small and compact enough to explore on foot, yet full of interesting sites to see. You might visit Kilkenny Castle, a 12th century castle renovated in Victorian times or Saint Canice's Cathedral with its neighbouring round tower which is the oldest standing structure in Kilkenny. The round tower may be climbed by visitors who wish to gaze over Kilkenny’s interesting and varied scenery from above.
Day 2 - Kilkenny & Further Afield
There are a number of exceptional day trips to be experienced from Kilkenny and all within easy reach. These include a trip to The Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle in the neighbouring County of Tipperary. Cashel was once the seat of the Kings of Munster and capital of this southern province. The Rock of Cashel, which rears above the plain, dominated the land routes southwards. Kings of Ireland as well as Munster came to the Rock of Cashel and St. Patrick is known to have preached on the rock. Cahir Castle, once an important stronghold of the powerful Butler family, retains its impressive keep, tower and much of its original defensive structure and is one of Ireland’s largest and best-preserved castles. You can then travel on to Waterford where you will see the Waterford Crystal factory. An alternate route would be to visit the county of Wexford to the south east. This would allow visits to the Irish National Heritage Park, the 13th Century Tintern Abbey, Hook Lighthouse, Dunbrody Abbey, the Kennedy Homestead, ancestral home of JFK and finally the Dunbrody Famine Ship.
Day 3 - Kilkenny to Killarney & Killarney Sightseeing
Your tour route today will take you from Kilkenny to Killarney in county Kerry. Killarney is often considered the gateway to the Ring of Kerry and its bustling pub scene, live shows and concerts make the town a preferred overnight stop for many the international tourist and Irish tourist alike. On your tour route you will find the magnificent Rock of Cashel, an impressive cluster of medieval structures set upon an outcrop of limestone in the Vale County of Tipperary. Saint Patrick is known to have prayed on the rock and converted local high kings to Christianity. Cahir Castle, one of Ireland’s best-preserved castles can also be easily found nearby. For those who wish to travel the slightly longer route to Killarney, Blarney Castle can be discovered. Cormac MacCarthy, a great Irish chieftain built the castle almost six hundred years ago and since then the castle and its ‘stone of eloquence’ has been attracting thousands of curious visitors every year. Legend has it that if you kiss the stone you will never be lost for words and have as the Irish say, ‘the gift of the gab’. When you get to Killarney there are many walks and trails for you to enjoy including a two-hour tour around the town itself. You will also have the opportunity to visit Ross Castle which sits delightfully on the shores of Killarney’s lower lake, the Gap of Dunloe and Killarney National Park. In the evenings the town’s pub scene comes to life. As you rest from your travels you are sure to find a wide variety of traditional music as you explore the many old-style and contemporary pubs that this famous town has to offer.
Day 4 - Killarney Sightseeing & The Ring of Kerry
The Ring of Kerry is a stunning journey through mountain and coastal scenery combined with the colourful towns and villages that are dotted around the Iveragh peninsula. Some popular stops include Kenmare which is famed for its many traditional pubs and restaurants, Waterville which is impressively positioned between the rough Atlantic Ocean and the fresh water lake of Lough Currane, the traditional market town of Cahersiveen with its traditional shop fronts and Valentia Island where a walk to the top of Geokaun Mountain will offer you unforgettable views. This driving tour will take you approximately three hours and for those that need a rest from driving we can arrange a bus tour through this route. As a substitute to the Ring of Kerry tour you may favour a wonderful tour by pony and trap that takes you through the Black Valley in the Gap of Dunloe. After an optional bite to eat at Lord Brandon’s Cottage, you will return to Killarney by boat on the beautiful Lakes of Killarney.
Day 5 - Killarney to Clare
One of the longest but most dramatic days of your tour brings you from Killarney to the west coast of County Clare. First stop will be the Village of Adare in County Limerick. Adare is regarded by many as Ireland’s prettiest village with its charming thatched cottages, pretty Public Park and ancient churches. Shortly after this, you arrive at Bunratty Castle. Built in 1425, this grand castle was restored in 1954 to its former medieval glory. Within the grounds of the Castle, 19th century Irish life is accurately recreated through the reconstructed traditional Irish buildings in the folk park. Enjoy the sights and sounds of this fascinating place as you stroll from cottage to cottage or around the delightful village complete with post office, school, doctors house, printers, hardware shop, and of course the local pub where you can indulge in a pint of Guinness or an Irish Coffee! A short distance away, the majestic Cliffs of Moher are without doubt one of Ireland’s most spectacular attractions, offering stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. You then arrive at the village of Doolin which is often referred to as ‘the music capital of Ireland’. With a great many pubs and restaurants to enjoy, over the last number of years Doolin has been attracting considerable crowds to spontaneous music sessions! With a great many pubs and restaurants to enjoy, over the last number of years Doolin has been attracting considerable crowds to spontaneous music sessions!
Day 6 - Doolin and Aran Islands
From Doolin, you may take a ferry out to the Aran Islands, the closest of which, Inisheer, is only 10 km off the coast. On the Islands, you can take a pony and trap, or a guided tour from the pier to the stone fort of Dun Aengus. Dún Aengus is located on top of a 300ft high sea cliff and is one of the finest prehistoric monuments in Western Europe. Back to Doolin then, where you could stop for some lunch, as there are many music pubs and restaurants to be found. Doolin is world-famous for its wealth of Irish folk music and in recent years has been attracting crowds to spontaneous sessions and festivals or 'fleadhanna' of Irish and international music. For another excursion from Doolin you could head to the 2 million year old Aillwee Caves, which have regular tours of the beautifully lit caverns as well as a farm shop and the Burren Birds of Prey & Educational Centre. Just north of this area you can then visit the lunar like Burren region and the ancient Poulnabrone Dolmen Tombs.
Day 7 - Clare to Dublin & Dublin Sightseeing
Today you travel to Dublin via Galway and Clonmacnoise. Clonmacnoise is an early Christian site founded by Saint Ciaran in the 6th century on the banks of the River Shannon and includes the remnants of eight churches, a cathedral, a number of Christian high crosses, two round towers and a large collection of early Christian grave stones. From here, travel either to Dublin or take a slight detour to the ancient passage tombs of Newgrange and Knowth. One of the greatest wonders of the world, Newgrange is older than the Pyramids of Egypt and is the most notable passage-tomb in Europe. The many attractions and museums in Dublin are easily accessible on foot or with the help of the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus service that stops at all of the major attractions including Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral, Trinity Castle & the Book of Kells, Kilmainham Gaol, the National Museum of Ireland and The Guinness Storehouse to name just a few. In the evening Dublin City comes alive with its myriad pubs complete with excellent food and traditional & contemporary Irish music and entertainment.
Day 8 - More Dublin Sightseeing
Continue your sightseeing in Dublin today visiting the many historical and modern attractions that this cosmopolitan city has to offer. Other attractions include Saint Patrick’s Cathedral which has a spectacular choir featuring banners and stalls decorated with the insignia of the Knights of St. Patrick, the James Joyce Centre a well restored Georgian town house which contains a museum dedicated to this famous writer & the Dublin Writers Museum which contains exhibits relating to all Irish literature from 300 years ago to the present day. Of course, you may wish to take time out to shop in busy Grafton Street or any one of the quaint streets that the café strewn city centre has to offer. Also worth a visit is EPIC, the Irish emigration museum and the GPO (General Post Office) which houses the ‘GPO Witness History’ visitor attraction. This exhibition tells the story of the 1916 rising and the aftermath of this historic rebellion.

What People Are Saying
Sean and Irish Music tours thought of everything - fun, nature, history, whiskey, sights, beer, music, whiskey. We were well-cared for at every turn.
We had a trip of a lifetime! Very organized and filled with great Irish music! Recommend highly 5 star for sure!
Sean isn't just the best tour guide! He becomes part of your group and one of your best friends. Wonderful experience and trip of a lifetime!!
If you want a tour that is unique, try Irish Music Tours. Sean's knowledge of Ireland as a whole is impressive and the music component makes it unlike other Irish tours. He also is very attentive and accessible throughout the tour. He knows his stuff!
I did one of Sean's tours from Ardara, County Donegal several years ago. The music, the tour of the area and the craic was a great experience. I will try to make it again.

April 25 to May 2, 2023 SOLD OUT
April 30 to May 7, 2024 SOLD OUT
This intimate small group tour is led by Tommy and Saundra O’Sullivan. Over the years, the most common phrase they have heard from tour guests who have visited O’Sullivan’s Courthouse Pub is that they wish they had more time in Dingle. With this tour, the O’Sullivan’s are making that wish a reality.
Known as one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Dingle Peninsula is nestled between the emerald hills and crystal sea of stunning County Kerry and features the most westerly point in all of Europe. With its lush landscape, rich culture full of arts, music, culinary and literary abundance, visitors always want more time in Dingle.
Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you will find this very special tour equally captivating, and, as the O’Sullivans’ guest on the Dingle Peninsula Experience you will be part of their world and community. During this tour, you will meet local friends and musicians and visit places no other tours will even go. Not to mention there will be exclusive activities featuring plenty of craic-good-times and mischief making!
Guest Testimonials
When the stories of your travel include a stowaway, a mermaid, and a snail, you can be sure you have had a rollicking good time!
Many thanks to Tommy, Saundra, and PJ (musician and bus driver extraordinaire!) along with 26 of the best traveling companions we could have hoped for. A bit of history, lots of music, and the best craic ever. The variety of activities in this tour kept us all engaged, with enough free time to rest up (or shop). The day guides were excellent, and the musicians phenomenal. Tommy and Saundra seem to know everyone in southern Ireland and were able to tap into those connections to make our tour one of the best we've ever been on.
Even if you've been to Ireland before, you should go on this tour--you will see and be part of a country and culture you simply cannot find on your own.
My wife and I were fortunate enough to get seats on Tommy and Saundra’s first tour and I can honestly say that I can’t imagine a better way to see Ireland. Tommy, Saundra and PJ showed us sites and included us in musical sensations that I doubt any other tour could come close to. I highly recommend O’Sullivan’s Courthouse Tours whether or not you’ve been to Ireland before. It’s definately worth the price. They took care if every detail and we were the beneficiaries. Thank you Tommy & Saundra........ and PJ.
I just returned from Tommy and Saundra's tour. To describe it in a word: incredible. This is a tour that shows you some truly authentic Ireland. Historical sites, small towns, exciting music, mouthwatering food, and some truly wonderful pubs. They are friendly and knowledgeable and they work with some extremely knowledgeable experts as well. By the end of the trip, it felt like I was leaving home, not going back.
Don't use one of the big tours. Go with Tommy and Saundra. You won't regret it (except, of course, until you try one pub's fish and chips, and then you'll regret that you can't get that everywhere you go).
Even though we have been to Ireland many times, this tour was an exceptional experience! Tommy and Saundra provide a unique experience! They avoid the‘tourist’ traps and bring you into the true heart of this most beautiful and unique country. So first time visitor or old hands like us, you can’t go wrong with this tour!🤗🤗🍀❤️
If you are looking for a tour of Ireland that exceeds all expectations, this is the one!!
Tommy & Saundra are not only spectacularly talented musicians, but they are also masterful tour directors as well.
Their collective knowledge of the region, Irish history, food and culture make the adventure even more unforgettable.
You'll visit places that are truly off-the-map, see and learn about significant historical sites and dine at some of the best spots in Ireland.
Importantly, thanks to Tommy and Saundra's "curation skills", you'll have multiple opportunities to see overwhelmingly beautiful sites in this wonderful country and enjoy the friendly locals along the way.
If that weren't enough, there's the music!! Nearly every night of the tour, in every stop along the way, there's a chance to enjoy a traditional music session (or concert) featuring Tommy, Saundra and some local guest musicians!
This tour is special in so many ways, it deserves more than Five Stars!!
Thanks again to Tommy & Saundra for a terrific adventure!!!
Words alone cannot describe the amount of effort Tommy & Saundra invested in to our tour of Ireland. If they do not know everyone in Ireland I would be willing to bet everyone knows of them. They personify the reason you go to Ireland, beautiful scenery, history and damn good Craic!!! I wonder how many tours stop at the Choctaw monument created by Alex Pentek, tell you the story and follow that up with a very beautiful and emotional song. They never stopped adding more and more to our experience. Their circle of friends personally turned this tour into an emotional experience. There is no way you will ever leave Ireland with more knowledge of Irelands past and present than spending time with Tommy & Saundra. I do believe we have new friends for life! Can not thank you two enough!! Shine on Tommy & Saundra!!! Slainte!!!
I ran out of room in my earlier testimonial because there is just so much to say but I would be very remiss not to acknowledge Our bus driver PJ (apparently there is more than 1 bus driver in Ireland named PJ). PJ was the icing on the cake, the cherry on top of ice cream Sunday. PJ's professional knowledge of Irish history, classic humor and unwavering curtesy helped to pull everything together perfectly. These 3 folks truly complement each other both professionally and personally. calling this experience a tour sounds a little off to me. To me it felt more like a ride around Ireland with friends wanting to make sure you have the very best Irish experience possible in the time allotted. Tommy, Saundra & P.J. Thank you very much for providing us with this unforgettable experience. T&A
We had a wonderful time on this tour. We went with 24 of our friends and Tommy and Saundra hit it out of the park for everyone! We have been to Ireland on numerous occasions, but never have had an experience quite like this one. Tommy and Saundra truly seem to know everyone! They take you off the beaten path for experiences you simply cannot find on other tours and certainly not if you were to grab a car and travel yourself.
Our bus driver, PJ, is not only an amazing driver, but he is quite the historian as well. He regaled us with wonderful stories and bits of history along the way. We looked forward to this everyday.
Some of our companions on the tour had never been to Ireland. They were blown away by its beauty, friendliness of the people, the music and all around great craic. If you're planning a trip to Ireland, O'Sullivan's Courthouse Tours is the way to go! Thank you, Tommy and Saundra for such great memories that we will always treasure!
Recently home from a tour with the O’Sullivans and PJ, and I cannot express to you the level of professionalism, organization and fun that they showed us throughout the entire trip. For the 10 days on this tour everyday was better than the next! Thank you very much Tommy, Saundra and PJ for making my vacation a trip I will not forget, I would rate it 10 stars but they only gave me 5.
I can’t say enough good things about Tommy and Saundra O’Sullivan’s tour of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. It was truly fabulous. They took us where tourists rarely travel and related some fascinating history along the way.
The focus of the tour is traditional Irish music, and through Tommy’s long involvement in that scene we heard some great stuff…not in shows organized for tourists, but in local pubs with trad musicians from the community. People were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
It sounds cliche, but I really feel like we got a good look into the “real” Ireland, and I loved it.
What would you like to experience when you travel? History? Beautiful scenery? Magical, mystical places? Incredible musicians playing traditional music? Smiling faces and happy people? Delicious food? Whiskey tastings? An up close private performance by seven times world Irish dance champion David Geaney? Our trip with Tommy and Saundra O’Sullivan had it all! It was fabulous!
We just got back from the inaugural Dingle Peninsula Experience tour and it was worth waiting a year for! From start to finish Tommy and Saundra made it memorable in every way: The beautiful hotel right in the middle of town, great food, off-the-beaten-path day trips, and every night fabulous musicians playing at the Courthouse Pub. Wonderful trip, and best part is Tommy and Saundra sharing Dingle and their friends with us!
We recently returned from the Dingle Peninsula Experience Tour with Tommy and Saundra O'Sullivan and 12 great fellow travelers. What a wonderful tour! This was our second trip to Ireland. We had especially loved the Dingle Peninsula five years ago, so we jumped at the chance to spend a week there. Ireland is a beautiful country with beautiful people. The music, the history, the food, the beer, the landscapes - nothing compares! Tommy and Saundra made us feel at home. The tour was well planned but not hectic or packed. We had plenty of time on our own. We highly recommend the Dingle Peninsula Tour with Tommy and Saundra for first time Ireland travelers and for people like us who love Ireland and wanted to return.
My husband and I had the ultimate experience of going on the Piper Jones Band musical tour across Ireland from July 17-26, 2023. This was truly an incredible collection of memorable moments that were shared with a group of fans who were all clearly on this trip because of our love of this band. There is no better way to get to know members of a band than while traveling through Ireland on a bus. And ... we had the most amazing bus driver, Ray! We all sang his praises! Tommy and Saundra O'Sullivan were outstanding in their sharing of historical facts and scenic views around every bend and byway. My husband and I had been to Ireland in 2015 and visited some of the same places as this tour, but to experience them again with others was priceless. We had spent time in Dingle previously and were so excited to return. Dingle is a magical piece of Ireland that captures the best of its scenery, history and music ... all in one place! Dingle is the cutest hidden treasure in Ireland! O'Sullivan's Courthouse Pub continues to share the trad music and hospitality of Ireland at its best! This pub, this town, and this tour are a must on anyone's bucket list!

The drugmaker was on its knees when Sir Pascal Soriot took over in 2012.
But under his leadership it now does just about everything the UK wants from a business - creating high value-added jobs and developing products that improve people's lives.
The FTSE 100's performance has lagged that of many of its peers, both in the United States and Europe, more or less since the Brexit vote in 2016.
That poor performance has reflected the poor valuation of many UK-listed companies - resulting in numerous foreign takeovers of UK businesses in recent months and years.
It has also led to a scarcity in the number of companies floating on the London Stock Exchange, most notably the Cambridge-based chip designer ARM Holdings , which last year opted to list in the US instead.
The situation has alarmed the government, which has announced a number of reforms aimed at raising the UK's attractiveness .
An imminent shareholder vote on Sir Pascal's pay makes a particularly interesting test case because few would dispute that he has been the most outstanding FTSE 100 chief executive of his generation.
This rise could take his potential earnings to £18.5m this year - which critics say is excessive.

England's average house price has risen by £103,000 over the last decade, while the average annual wage has risen by £7,734.
But some areas have seen homeownership affordability decline more than others...
The London borough of Barking and Dagenham has seen the most significant fall, according to moving platform Getamover.
The platform found the area has seen house prices more than double to £380,000 in the last 10 years - but wages have only risen by £2,182.
Hillingdon in West London took the second spot, with the average property shooting up by £230,000 to £495,000, while the average income increased by just £143.
While London remains the most unaffordable region, the East Midlands has also seen a notable fall.
Oadby and Wigston in Leicestershire ranked fifth in the table, with the average house price increasing by £129,000 and the median annual income growing by £2,644.
Gedling ranks sixth among the areas of England where the affordability of buying a home has declined most.
The Nottinghamshire region has seen house prices soar by 84.8% to £231,000, while the average income has risen by just 13.11% to £33,454.
You can see how other areas fared in the table below...
Rishi Sunak's post-Brexit rules for foreign workers are getting tough press in Italy this week - with claims they could mark the end of Italian waiters in London.
April saw the minimum salary requirement for a skilled worker visa increase from £26,200 to £38,700 - a near 50% rise as the government tries to reduce immigration.
Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica published an article on its site headlined "Italians in London, the long goodbye" after the new rule was brought in this month.
There were an estimated 342,000 Italians living in the UK in 2021, according to the latest Office for National Statistics census data.
La Repubblica said the new rule change would lead to the "end of the story" of Italy's "ancient roots" in the capital, which was founded by the Romans in 43 AD.
Separately, Italian journalist Antonio Polito wrote in the Corriere della Sera newspaper that the new salary for skilled workers was "an amount that no young novice can realistically earn".
"Thus London gives up one of its great assets, the fact of being an offshore and cosmopolitan city," he said.
Mr Sunak's post-Brexit rule change has worried hospitality bosses who are still struggling to get to grips with a post-COVID reality and rising costs.
Conor Sheridan, founder of Nory and Mad Egg restaurant chain, previously told the Money blog that roughly 14% of his 15,000 UK employee base were on working visas that could be affected.
Trade body UKHospitality also said the changes would "further shrink the talent pool that the entire economy will be recruiting from".
As the migration law came in, Home Secretary James Cleverly said it was "time to turn off the taps and end the flow of cheap workers from abroad".
"We are refocusing our immigration system to prioritise the brightest and best who have the skills our economy needs, while reducing overall numbers," he said.
Several of the UK's biggest supermarkets closed their gender pay gap in the last year - while Morrisons saw the biggest rise, figures show.
Ocado and Lidl reduced their gap by the largest amounts in 2023-24 compared to the previous year, while Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Co-op, Iceland and Waitrose owner John Lewis also saw a reduction.
The data comes from the government's gender pay gap service and states the difference in hourly rates of pay.
In contrast to other big-name brands, Morrisons saw its mean pay gap widen to 12.5% from 7.6%. M&S also saw a slight increase from 12.5% to 12.6%.
The mean figure gives the best overall view of the gender pay gap but includes extreme values which could skew the average.
Of the 11 biggest UK supermarkets, Co-op has the largest pay gap with 13.2%, followed by M&S and Morrisons.
An M&S spokesperson said: "We're committed to driving equal opportunities and making M&S a great place to work for women. Encouragingly our median pay gap has decreased, and women now make up more than 50% of our UK store management population, but we know there is more to do.
"We're making progress with the launch of new initiatives, talent programmes, and policies, including our flexible working offer – Worklife, a Job Share Finder, and our industry-leading family leave offer."
A spokesperson for Co-op said: "We are committed to treating our colleague member owners fairly, and this includes driving equitable outcomes for female colleagues. We've seen a significant reduction in our gender pay gap since we started to report data in 2017, and this year's data shows further progress towards closing it.
"It's important to reiterate that we don't pay people differently based on their gender at Co-op. The gender pay gap is caused by us having fewer females in leadership role, where salaries are higher.
"Our focus on improving representation remains, as we know this is one of the key drivers causing the gender pay gap. Today, 40% of our leadership population are female - this is not enough, which is why we’ve launched a series of development programmes and have a coaching and mentoring offer to support women with career progression.
"We know there’s still much to do in this space and will hold ourselves to account and continue to strive for gender equality."
Morrisons has also been contacted for comment.
Every Thursday we look at a different savings option, explain the pros and cons, and reveal the best deals on the market (see table below for that). This week we're talking about the best notice accounts. Savings Champion founder Anna Bowes says this...
As with the rest of the savings market, the top notice account rates have started to fall. However, there are stalwarts like the Investec 90-day notice account that are holding steady and as a result offering savers an opportunity to earn a little more, while not having to tie up their cash for too long.
A relatively unused aspect of the savings market, notice accounts offer a bit of a halfway house, with the best rates available generally paying more than the top easy access rates, but will more flexibility of access than a fixed term bond.
Just as it sounds, these savings accounts require you to give notice in order to access your money without a penalty. The usual notice period ranges from 30 to 120 days, although there are some accounts on the market that require six months or even a year's notice.

Another record month for Heathrow. Last month was the busiest ever March for the UK's biggest airport, the second record-breaking month in a row.
It was also the busiest Easter weekend as Good Friday became the busiest ever direct departure day, when 118,000 people began their journey at the airport.
It shows, despite cost of living pressures, lots of Britons were going on holiday.
More good news for Heathrow came earlier this week as planned strike action by 600 border force officers was called off to allow for negotiations in its dispute over working patterns.
Oil prices are still high, hanging around $90. A barrel of Brent crude oil, the benchmark for oil prices, costs $90.66. The last time prices were this high was in the wake of the 7 October attacks and fears of conflict spreading throughout the Middle East.
On the currency front, £1 buys $1.2538 and €1.1678.
How old is the average Briton when they buy their first home, or finish paying their mortgage, or retire?
These are some of the questions answered in a "Journeying Through Life" data dump from the Office for National Statistics.
Here are some of the key takeaways...
Home ownership - including the one life event that's happening earlier
People are buying homes later in life, perhaps unsurprisingly given how house prices have risen in the last decade or so.
In 2022, more than half of people owned their own home (either with a mortgage or outright) by the age of 36.
That's a significant increase on 2004's figures - which showed the average age for home ownership was 32.
This graph shows what proportion of people own homes at what age.
It isn't all doom and gloom on the homes front, however, with the age at which people own their home outright (ie mortgage paid off) dropping from 63 (in 2004) to 61 in 2020.
This is pretty much the only life event happening earlier, however.
Retiring later
Again, this probably won't come as a huge surprise, but people are retiring later.
The age where more than half of people were retired increased from 64 in 2011 to 66 in 2021.
There has been a bigger increase in average retirement age for women (from 61 years in 2011, to 66 years in 2021) than for men (from 65 in 2011 to 66 in 2021).
The ONS says this is because the state pension age for women was increased from 60 to 66 during this time to match men.
Gender pay gap shrinking but still present
The latest data shows that men are still, on the whole, being paid more than women - although the gender pay gap is shown to be shrinking.
For all employees, the gender pay gap was 14% in 2023 - compared with 20% in 2013.
Despite the gap shrinking, this graph shows that men's hourly wages are higher than women's at nearly all ages.
The grey shaded area represents the pay gap.
Another part of the data shows that males start work a touch earlier than women - with half of males in full-time employment by the age of 23 (compared with females at 24) in 2021.
That data could be explained by the fact that more women attend university - some 319,000 females compared with 285,000 males in 2022.
Moving out, marrying and having children
The age at which young people move out of their family homes is increasing, too.
In 2011, half of people were not living with their parents at the age of 21 - compared with 24 in 2022.
More men live with their parents than women, with 61% of adults living at home in 2021 were male.
When it comes to having children, the average age at which women have their first baby has risen to 29.
That's up from an average of just 23 in 1970.
And finally, marriage.
The median age at first marriage has been steadily increasing since the 1960s.
For opposite sex couples married in 2020, the median age was 32 years for men and 30 years for women. For those entering into same-sex marriage, the median age was older, at 36 years for men and 32 years for women.
As well as getting married older, fewer people are getting married. In 2019, marriage rates had fallen to their lowest on record. For men, there were 18.6 marriages per 1,000 never-married men; for women, there were 17.2 marriages per 1,000 never-married women.
Spotify has announced it is hiking its subscription prices by up to £24 a year.
It is the second time in less than a year that the music streaming giant has increased its prices.
Here's how the prices will change...
Individual: £11.99 a month (up from £10.99 a month)
Duo: £16.99 a month (up from £14.99 a month)
Family: £19.99 a month (up from £17.99 a month)
When will the change kick in?
The subscription price will change from May and if you are an existing customer Spotify will email you and give you one-month's notice of the change.
If you are on a free trial you will pay the old price for one month once your trial ends.
A Spotify spokesperson told Sky News: "So that we can keep innovating and delivering value to fans, the music industry, and creators on our platform, we occasionally update our prices.
"We've begun communicating with existing subscribers in the UK to explain what this means for their account."
American burger chain Wendy's will be recruiting for over 400 job roles as part of its expansion across the UK.
The chain returned to the UK in 2021 after a 20-year break and has since opened just over 30 sites, including drive-throughs in Colchester, Peterborough, Derby and Brampton Hut.
But the chain, which was founded in Columbus, Ohio, in 1969, plans to open a further nine sites this year in Liverpool, Middlesbrough, and a second location in Sheffield.
New locations will include Liverpool, Middlesbrough and a second site in Sheffield.
Wendy's franchisee GH Burgers will open a first restaurant in Wood Green, London, this year.
There will also be restaurants in Southend-on-Sea, Colchester, Cambridge and Newcastle.
Michael Clarke, UK managing director for the Wendy's Company, told The Caterer : "We've seen great momentum in building Wendy's fandom in the UK, and the love and excitement for this iconic brand grows stronger with each new restaurant opening."
Changes to visa rules costing people thousands of pounds extra "destroy the notion of the UK as a place where families can thrive", campaigners have said.
The minimum income for family visas rises by more than £10,000 to £29,000 today.
It will rise further to £38,700 early next year.
Reunite Families UK claimed the values of family and love are being treated as "as yet another political football to be sacrificed in order to receive better poll or electoral results".
The government says the plans offer "an accelerated and comprehensive programme of reforms" to address "unsustainable" levels of legal migration to the UK.
Justifying its plans, the Home Office said the minimum amount had remained unchanged for more than a decade, and the new measures will help ensure families are self-sufficient and not relying on public funds.
'We just want to be with our families'
Argentinian Eugenia Morales said the uncertainty around her and her baby daughter being able to reunite with her husband in the UK had taken a toll.
The 30-year-old has been with her partner Connor White for three years but is unsure whether - after having their daughter in Argentina - she will be able to join him in England.
She said Mr White, who is based in West Sussex, cannot leave his eldest child from a previous relationship and has been working weekends in his construction job to try to boost his income to the required amount to sponsor his wife.
Ms Morales said she would be looking for a job in the UK and would not have access to benefits while applying on the family visa route anyway.
She told the PA news agency: "We don't want to be a burden to the [welfare] system, we just want to be with our families.
"It's an awful situation. We want to be together, we want the girls to grow up together but this is making it totally impossible."
Caroline Coombs, co-founder of Reunite Families UK, said people are feeling "punished" and "excluded" by the new rules.
Ms Coombs said: "This increase, together with the ones which will come into force in the next 12 months, destroy the notion of the UK as a place where families can thrive."
