What You Can Expect

Departure from Kos at approx 10:00. One or two persons per quad and at least one with driving license. A convoy of quads following an experienced leader over mountains slops and forests, paths along the coast in the lovely landscape of Kos and throughout its villages.

You are going to stop at a very popular beach for swim and lunch. Sheltering cliffs, long sandy beach, and shallow water make it ideal for everyone.

Plaka is a wonderful place to visit as it is like an underground forest with benches and loads of peacocks wandering around. Plaka is a nature reserve – a natural habitat of peacocks. Tourists come there regularly, so the peacocks come out to meet them to get some little treat. You will be surprised.

We were very happy with the performances. The food on the other hand was just ok and nothing special. But it didn't bother us, as the dance show was the most important thing for us. There was also a nice tour around the city before the dinner show. Our guide, Nota, was very enthusiastic and knew so much about the sights and the history that it was like being taught by your favorite teacher. We got picked up from near our hotel at the right time and were welcomed onto the trip by our guide who was amazing! We then got the boat over to Nisyros which was a lovely boat trip, we arrived in the village of Mandraki where we got free time, however they wasen’t much to do however so didn’t need much free time we then got on bus to the volcano, had to pay €3 to get in, very smelly but amazing to see we walked down to the crater which was very cool. I am absolutely positive that a fire department of any county in the US would shut down the place due to lack of security/safety. The Quad Bike safari tour is a firm favourite, offering guests an exciting and adventurous opportunity to ‘rough it up’ in Aquila’s 10 000 hectare wildlife reserve.  No prior experience is necessary for the quad bike safari tour.

Aquila’s quad bike one day tour offers guests the chance to see South Africa’s iconic wildlife up-close and in-person, capture stunning wildlife photos, and experience an authentic African safari without travelling far Cape Town. All quad bike safari tours are led by two qualified game rangers, ensuring guests have the best opportunity to see the Karoo’s natural fauna and flora.

Welcome drinks, buffet breakfast and lunch, a 1 to 2 hour quad bike safari outride, and a complimentary Eco Synergy Tour. Don’t forget to pack your swimming costume, sunblock and hat, as guests are invited to enjoy Aquila’s outdoor infinity pool during the safari leisure time.

Beverages, transfers, and activities (other than specified). Transport can be booked as an optional add-on.

Please Note: Maximum weight per person: 95Kgs. Minimum age requirement: 16 years and older (250cc horsepower quad bikes). There are a maximum number of 10 people per quad bike experience, and only one person per quad bike.

Safari Outrides:

Duration of game drives, safari outrides, and departure times, are approximate and dependent on the interaction of the guests with the ranger and the sightings of animals.

Standard transport is R995.00 per adult (Valid Nov 2023 – Oct 2024). Transport can only be booked before 3pm for the following day arrival. Pick up times for day trip transport are between  05h45 – 06h45 am.

• Age 3 and under: no charge with accompanying adult;
• Age 11 and under : 50% of the adult rate;
• Age 12 and over: pay full price.  

Please Note: Transport to the reserve and back can be booked as an additional add-on. All foreign guests travelling with Aquila’s transport service are required to carry their passports.

Pick up locations and times will be confirmed by a safari consultant the evening before your scheduled departure date. Please ensure your contact details (provided at the time of your booking) are accurate and valid for South Africa.

      How to dress?

    Clothes: we recommend comfortable clothes of dark colour.

    Shoes: you are recommended to wear a footgear resistant to dirt, dust and moisture, preferably on a thick flat sole. Do not wear shoes with heels, with a slippery sole, or ones you are afraid of spoiling. You can take a spare pair of shoes.     Accessories: hats, umbrellas, raincoats, tourist thermos – all that is quite worth of taking with you for better comfort.

    By age: children from the age of five (accompanied by their parents).
