Big Five Luxury Safari in Tanzania **Sustainable Approach to Travel

This is a great tour offered by World adventure. It covers all the major national parks, especially Ngorongoro & Serengeti. An World Adventures offer great services over the 5 day safari. The meals were great, and hotel in Serengeti was excellent! In my opinion that the Lake Manyara can be omitted because we barely saw many animals around the lake. This is the reason I give a 4-star rather than 5.

14-day Kruger to the Delta, Chobe & Victoria Falls (Accommodated)

A bit late with the review... The trip was November 2019 and it was the best trip ever!!! Simon best guide, stunning places, welcoming locals and amazing experiences! the flight over the Okavango Delta is highly recommended.

8 days: Best of Zambia, Botswana (Chobe) and Zimbabwe (Zambezi) Wildlife Safari Tour Tour

8 days: Best of Zambia, Botswana (Chobe) and Zimbabwe (Zambezi) Wildlife Safari Tour

The trip delivers what the title promises. The best of three countries in one package. Mark and his team took great care of their guests at all times and, together with their local partners, ensured a smooth vacation. In particular, the rhino safari in Zambia and the Chobe National Park in Botswana are a fantastic experience. Just like being able to see the Victoria Falls from both sides. The logistics of the numerous border crossings are fully supported and can therefore be completed without any worries (with appropriate preparation, depending on nationality). In my opinion, there is only room for improvement in the accommodation in Zimbabwe. The chosen lodge is in a solid condition, but the rooms (sanitary facilities, no air conditioning) show the passing decades. The food, on the other hand, is excellent and sumptuous! Despite the small drawback, an absolutely recommendable trip to experience the highlights of the three countries!

Cape Town to the Serengeti: Deserts & Wilderness

Enjoyed the trip, saw lots of different animals, history and culture. Spent a lot of the time driving but the variety of game drives and optional activities created a good balance. The 2 groups I was a part of were great people and good company. The meals however were poor, felt our guide didn't try his best, majority of meals were cheap and our meal allowances were equivalent to $2-3 when given to eat on our long drives. He definitely could of done better with options especially after several comments and suggestions from our group. I didn't feel the food we got was anywhere the price I paid for the trip. Breakfasts consisted of cornflakes, weetabix, fruit and occasional yoghurt which was hidden and rationed along with museli. There were some days closer to the end where we got eggs, sausage and pancakes. Some individuals didn't even eat much overall because there wasn't much selection. Lunches consisted of processed meat sandwiches, apples and bananas for the most part. Dinners were rice, pasta, some vegetables and bread. The meat options were fine and more catered to I found. Unfortunately I felt that our guide wasn't organized with activities either, left everything to the last minute. He became more involved and active on the 2nd half of our journey with the group, for the first half he was a little reserved. Our driver was amazing and very accommodating and friendly. I would definetely do another G trip but would like to have a more outgoing and accommodating guide.

I loved every minute of this tour. We covered a lot of territory, the pace was busy but manageable, and the activities were diverse. I made the right choice by choosing it.

The absolute Safari was an amazing experience, very much worth every penny spent, with Philippa our guide being the best guide I've ever had when going away. The guides knowledge on area's and animals was very impressive, she was an excellent chef and a good laugh to be around. Would 100% recommend this trip! JB our driver was also amazing and would always help out when needed.

Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire (with Materuni waterfalls, coffee tour) - 6 Days

Highly professional all around We travelled as a couple with Serengeti African Tours and received excellent service from start to end. We did a 7 day safari plus Zanzibar as an add on. With an extremely professional and skilled guide, a highly organised booking team and an amazing selection of lodges/tented camps to stay in we had an all around amazing trip. The quality of the food, the staff and the accommodation was 5 star all around. Would highly recommend anyone to do a private safari with this company, you will be looked after from start to end. The small extras including asking what kind of drinks we would like in the vehicle and the gift of a wine for a special celebration was also a really lovely touch. Great value for money with the amount of food, the private tour and types of accommodation. Luxury and mid range available

The driver guide Charles, and Mr. Omondi our safari planner gave us clear instructions before safari begun, told lots of interesting facts about animal's, and let us enjoy game drives. Thanks for this unforgettable life experience!

16 Days of Intensive Adventurous Safari through Magical Uganda and Rwanda ( Private tour)

Just returned from a magnificent tour of Uganda. We went with Mukisa Safaris, Richard went to so much trouble to make sure we got to see and do everything we wanted. Our guide Hami, and John our driver were outstanding. Uganda is the real Africa, stunning scenery, mountains, rain forests, lakes, rivers and of course wild animals. Go soon, before it changes.

10 Days Uganda's Gorillas Encounter, Wildlife & Kigali City Tour ( Private tour)

There are no words for how incredible this tour was. I had high expectations and a lot of excitement for this trip and I was nervous I was setting myself up for disappointment, but no such thing. Richard reached out several times ahead of the trip to help us prep and ensure we had what we needed. When we arrived, the tour accomodated our arrival time to Uganda. We had an incredible experience at every park. Veronica was an amazing guide sharing her love of Uganda and passion in what she does. Sam, our driver, he kept us safe and entertained especially on those long drives. We saw everything we were hoping to and more and were able to experience some of the culture. The accommodations were great and the food was excellent. I cannot recommend this tour and this tour company more. We were told that Mukisa means blessing, and that they were. Thank you for making a memory to never forget.

African Safari Tour Reviews

The tour was very well organized. Everything worked up quite well and everyone took good care of us. It was a magnificent time in Tanzania's wild nature. Also the tour company took care of all changes online (one day early arrival and extra shira tour booking) in a flexible and timely manner. Our Safari guide and driver Israel did really a great job. He worked hard to find all the animals for us as good as possible. This wasn't an easy job as we were there during rain season. He kept us safe and well informed all the time. We saw many wild animals such as cheetahs, lions, giraffes, buffalos, elephants, hippos, hyenas and of course tons of Gnus, zebras and all kinds of antilopes, monkeys and birds. We could even see some of the big five like the lion from eye to eye, roaming around less than 1m from our vehicle! Of course there's no guaranty of which wild animals you'll see as we're talking about natural parks, but you can rest assured the guides are doing their best to show you what nature is offering during your visit. All the staff in the hotels, parks and people in general were very kind and very welcoming! The food was always good and safe. FYI, the actual safari is 5 days + 2 days arrival and departure. Nevertheless within these 5 days we saw so many places and had a unique nature experience. "Luxury" as mentioned in the title is a bit too much said, especially when it comes to accommodation. On the other hand all the hotel names/ratings and the exact itinerary were mentioned clearly so no surprises. The luxurious part was actually that we were only on our own since it's low season :) Our guide Israel was flexible and fulfilled every possible wish we had. The Maasai village tour in the way to Serengeti costs an extra 50$ which is a fair price but they will also offer you some overpriced hand-made souvenirs to buy. The tour itself was very interesting and nice including a welcome song and dance basically from the whole village :) The Serengeti Safari lounge was quite spacious and had a big balcony to enjoy the endless view of the Serengeti. That was definitely the best accommodation of the trip. We woke up to a great show of a huge group of Gnus and Zebras directly in front of our balcony. The very ones who were singing for us all night :) Last but not least: if you're wondering about the prices even for a day tour, you should know that the park fees including conservation fees are quite high. So you're basically contributing to the well-being of these parks as well as the many wonderful people protecting them.
Everything was Amazing

Africa Safari Tours & Vacations

  • Africa Safari Tours & Holidays

Take a walk on the wild side on an African safari.

The word “safari” means “journey” in Swahili. And a safari in Africa is all about the journey. While seeing a leopard munch on a freshly caught gazelle or spying a curious lion cub venture away from its mother’s protective embrace will be highlights of your trip, you’ll discover the journey is as much a part of your trip as the destination.

The road-trip games you play with your new travel mates, the feeling of the wind (and maybe a little dust) in your hair when you’re travelling down long, winding roads, and the young Maasai boy who waved at you as you passed him along the road will stay with you long after you return.

Elephants in Kruger National Park

Spot the Big 5 in South Africa

Go on safari through Kruger National Park, one of the largest game reserves in Southern Africa . This massive park is one of the premier safari spots in all of Africa and for good reason; it’s home to over 500 bird species, 100 species of reptile and 150 mammal species, including the Big Five and the endangered African wild dog.

Gorillas in Uganda

Go gorilla trekking in Uganda

Venture deep into the steamy jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of the rare mountain gorilla. With a local guide to lead you, you’ll trek into the forest to spend one unforgettable hour watching and hanging out with a family of gorillas. A close encounter with these gentle giants is an extraordinary African experience that will always stay with you.

giraffes on the Serengeti in Tanzania

Float over the Serengeti

The only thing more magical than witnessing the great wildebeest migration across the Serengeti? Seeing it from the sky in a hot air balloon. As the herds of wildebeest and thousands of other animals travel from Serengeti National Park to the greener pastures of the Masai Mara National Reserve, you can watch their journey and enjoy incredible views from a unique perspective.

Okavango Delta

Canoe in the Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta has a unique system of waterways that are home to an immense array of wildlife. The best way to explore it is in a mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe. Visit in May to September, when animals are confined to small islands created by the annual flood, making it easy to spot great herds of elephant and antelope, hippos, crocodiles, lions, cheetahs and more.

Where we stay on safari.

Camping in Africa

On our safari trips you’ll stay in billion-star accommodation. That’s our way of saying you’re sleeping under the night sky, camping in the great outdoors. On our Basix and sections of Original trips, you’ll stay in two-person canvas tents that our crew will help you set up. And on our Comfort trips, you’ll be staying in permanent tented camps and lodges (think glamping instead of camping).

Campsite facilities can sometimes be basic, but wherever possible, we make sure there are Western-style toilets and warm water available. But you’ll find it’s worth sacrificing a warm shower or two when you’re waking up to sunrise over the Masai Mara.

How we get around

Africa overland truck

On our safari trips, your main mode of transport is an overland truck, a purpose-built vehicle made for driving through Africa’s winding, and sometimes bumpy, country roads. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The trucks are also equipped with power outlets to charge your camera, phone and other devices on the go.

For more info on our overland trucks, see our Africa overland page .

African Safari FAQs

When is the best time to go on safari.

Generally speaking, January, February and June to October are the best times to go on safari in Africa. This is the dry season, so animals tend to come out into more open spaces in search of water, making them easier to spot. However, you’ll be able to spot animals all year round and you’ll enjoy fewer crowds if you travel outside peak season.

Read more about the best time to go on safari .

Where is the best place to go on safari?

The best place to go on safari depends on what kind of animals you’d like to see and what other activities you’d like to do in destination. We offer safaris to some of the best safari destinations in eastern and southern Africa, like Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and more.

Read more about how to choose your ideal African safari .

Am I guaranteed to see animals on safari?

While we can’t guarantee you’ll spot the Big 5, you’d have to be profoundly unlucky to see no animals at all. On our trips, you’ll explore some of the best game parks and national reserves in the world. These protected areas are filled with a huge variety of different species and your expert driver and local leader will help you spot animals.

What are the “Big 5”?

The “Big 5” used to refer to the five big game animals that were the most difficult to hunt. Now that most shooting is done on a camera, the Big 5 are the most exciting animals to spot while on safari: the lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo.

What should I pack for safari?

Loose, light clothing in neutral colours is the best attire for a safari (dark colours will get hot in the sun and can attract the Tsetse fly). You’ll also want a sun hat, some good walking shoes, a camera, sunscreen and bug spray. For more details, check out our ultimate Africa packing guide .

What type of food will be served on safari?

On our Basix trips you’ll have a cook travelling with you while you are on safari who will whip up a variety of local flavours and Western-style dishes. Along your route, your cook will stop to purchase fresh, locally sourced food for your meals. You can expect a variety of things for breakfast like fruit, eggs, toast and cereal; lunch is often sandwiches and salads; and dinner is usually a hearty meal like pasta, curry or a BBQ.

On our Original and Comfort trips there will be more meals at camps and lodges along the way. No matter what you’re craving, you definitely will not be going hungry on safari.

What are the toilets and showers like on safari?

Most of the permanent tented camps will have a private bathroom with flushing toilets and showers with warm water.

Many of the campsites we stay at have communal facilities with flushing toilets and showers with warm water. However, in some of the more remote areas, there may only be basic facilities (toilets and cold running water).

Can you accommodate accessibility requirements on your safari tours?

We are committed to making travel accessible to everyone, so we will work with you to assess whether you will be able to complete an existing itinerary, or whether we will be able to make reasonable adjustments to meet your needs before you book. Please see our accessible travel page for more information.

What is internet and phone access like on safari?

Some of our hotels and campsites will have Wi-Fi, however Internet and phone access may be limited in more remote areas. But you won’t miss it when you’re watching a pride of lions prowl through long grass or enjoying a drink around the campfire with your group.

Our stance on Animal Welfare

This world and the animals that call it home are precious, and we believe it’s our responsibility to help preserve them. We do not include or condone any activities that exploit animals on our safari trips, including hunting, feeding or interacting with animals in any way. We believe that wild animals should be observed in the wild, from a respectful distance.

Some tips for being a wildlife-friendly traveller include never buying animal products, not participating in activities that include contact with the animals, and not including location tags on social media posts (some poachers have gone high-tech and use social media to track rare animals’ locations).

Safari Holidays

What makes african safari holidays unique.

An African safari holiday is something that transforms the way you think about the world. Once you've experienced it, you feel like you have a special bond with Africa’s untamed, wide-open spaces. You also have your work cut out for you when it comes to picking a destination, as there are so many excellent safari options scattered across the continent.

East Africa  destinations like  Kenya  and  Tanzania  invite you for an iconic safari. It's the postcard depiction of Africa, with its signature glowing red sunsets and flat-topped acacia trees. It's also wildly famous for being host to the  Great Migration . Southern Africa promises luxury  Big 5 safaris  in reserves in  South Africa  and  Zimbabwe , and they're very easy to combine with other popular African countries.

At Rhino Africa, we don't copy and paste itineraries. We tailor-make each one according to your specific wish list, who you're travelling with, and the occasion. Whether you're a seasoned safari-goer or have never experienced the majestic presence of a lion swaggering past your game vehicle, we can make your dream safari a reality. And as the World's Best Safari Company, we've mastered the art of the tailored safari. Let's start planning!

Why go on an African safari?

Africa is home to many unique animals that you won't find anywhere else on earth. Think lions, giraffes and more!

The sunsets are unbelievable, and each one will leave you breathless

The landscapes are so varied that you get to see something new at every turn

There are private concessions and private game reserves you can stay at for a more up-close and exclusive safari experience

Africa might be wild, but you don't have to rough it as Africa has some of the most luxurious lodges to choose from

The lodges have highly skilled guides and rangers with plenty of interesting stories to share, making your safari that much more special

What are the best destinations in Africa for safari holidays?

When it comes to choosing the best destination in Africa for your safari, it can be overwhelming. They all have so much to offer, so how can you possibly choose? Well, don't you worry about that! Here's what you can look forward to at some of the top African safari holiday destinations.

Tanzania Safari Holidays

Tanzania  safari holidays offer adventurous activities like hot air balloon safaris over the vast savannah. Located in East Africa, Tanzania is probably best known for its  Great Migration  safaris. This is an annual animal migration when over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traverse the plains in the ultimate survival game, encountering many obstacles and hungry predators along the way.

The country has some of the most impressive national parks on the continent. However, there's much more to it! It's home to the tallest mountain in Africa, some of the biggest lakes globally, and other truly unique sights like the Ngorongoro Crater. What was once a volcano is now the only intact volcanic caldera in the world. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's also teeming with wildlife, offering fantastic sightings.

It has many island treasures along the coast for you to combine bush and beach. These Afro-Arab islands like  Zanzibar Archipelago  and  Pemba Island  are cultural hubs with azure waves lapping pristine white beaches.

Kenya Safari Holidays

Kenya safari holidays are similar to Tanzania but also very different! Yes, they are both located in East Africa. But we also recommend you see both as they're home to their own unique attractions. Kenya is also the setting for part of the Great Migration and has plenty of exciting game reserves.

The culture in  Kenya  is also fascinating, with the local Maasai known for their unique culture and vibrant tribal clothing. From Mount Kenya's snow-capped peaks to the coastal beaches and flamingo-crowded Lake Nakuru, the landscapes vary.

This country is a photographer's paradise, with many species you can only find in Africa. If you're a birder, you'll also keep yourself busy trying to spot as many of the 1150 species as possible! Of course, Kenya's landscapes are also best seen from the sky, and you can go on a sunrise hot air balloon safari to see the African wild bathed in golden sunlight.

It's also easy to combine Kenya safari holidays with a beach holiday, thanks to the nearby islands of  Zanzibar Archipelago ,  Lamu  and  Seychelles .

South Africa Safari Holidays

When it comes to South Africa safari holidays, the  Kruger National Park  is probably the most widely known. And, yes, it's well-known for a reason! Packing a punch with a high density and wide variety of wildlife, it's one of our go-to safari destinations.

It also has many private concessions like  Sabi Sand , offering a more luxurious and exclusive experience. When staying at these private game reserves, you get to go off-road for uninterrupted, up-close sightings, can go on night safaris, walking safaris, and much more. It's really the best place for a luxury Big 5 safari!

However, South Africa has many other safari destinations that should not be overlooked. If you're looking for a malaria-free, family-friendly safari, look no further than the  Eastern Cape province , where you have many to choose from. South Africa is also one of the easiest destinations to combine with other incredible African experiences, from exploring mountains, city, beaches and culture in  Cape Town  to wine tasting in the  Cape Winelands .

Zimbabwe Safari Holidays

Zimbabwe  is probably best known for  Victoria Falls , the largest sheet of falling water in the world. However, as a Big 5 safari destination, it also has so much else to offer! Home to a high density of elephants, big cats, and endangered animals like the African wild dog, there's so much to see! And because Zimbabwe safari holidays combine water- and land-based adventure, there's also plenty to do. From boat and canoe safaris to photo safaris, walking safaris, game drives, white-water rafting, bungee jumping, helicopter flights, and many more!

It's home to not one, not two, but a whopping five UNESCO World Heritage Sites, namely  Mana Pools National Park , Victoria Falls, Khami Ruins, Great Zimbabwe, and Matobo National Park.

Mana Pools is another popular safari choice, particularly for wildlife photography enthusiasts. Here, four massive oxbow pools come together, luring plenty of wildlife. The setting is spectacular, with prismatic lighting and gravity-defying elephants getting on their hind legs to reach foliage high up in the trees during the dry seasons.

Another must is  Hwange National Park , one of Africa's biggest conservation areas filled to the brim with wildlife. The warm hospitality and diverse culture also make it a favourite among our guests.

When is the best time to go on an African safari holiday?

The best time for safari holidays really depends on what you'd like to see and do. A safari is really a good idea at any time of year! But don't worry, our Travel Experts have travelled all over the world at different times of the year so they can recommend the best places and best time for safari holidays. Here's a rough calendar to give you an idea of what to expect.

January - Cape Town, South Africa

January is the perfect time to visit because it's summer in  Cape Town ! It's the oldest city in  South Africa  and continually voted the best city in the world. There are also malaria-free safari destinations nearby.

February - Rwanda, East Africa

Gorilla trekking in  Rwanda  in  East Africa  is something everyone should experience at least once in their life. February is great as it's the dry season, making trekking through the thick rainforests much easier.

March - Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe  is great year-round, but in March, it's the high water season, so the Victoria Falls and Zambezi River are in full flow.

April - Sossusvlei, Namibia

The oldest desert in the world,  Sossusvlei  in  Namibia , is great in April because it's the dry season which is also the cooler season.

May - Nosy Be, Madagascar

If you want to explore this island that's like a continent on its own and home to the adorable lemur, May is ideal to visit  Nosy Be  in  Madagascar  as it's the dry season with fewer rainstorms, so you can spend more time exploring the outdoors.

June - Kruger National Park, South Africa

Kruger National Park  in  South Africa  is also great year-round. However, June to September is prime time for game viewing. This is because it's the dry winter season, so the bush is sparse, making it easier to see them.

July - Okavango Delta, Botswana

The  Okavango Delta  in  Botswana  is best when it's flooded, which also happens to be when the weather is milder. So, plan your trip around July to September for the best experience.

August - Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

June to October is the dry season in  Tanzania  and the perfect time to visit the  Serengeti National Park . There's lower rainfall at this time of year, and vegetation is also more sparse, making safari sightings easier. This is also when the Great Migration is in town.

September - Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

The  Maasai Mara National Reserve  in  Kenya  is at its best between July and October, as this is when the Great Migration passes through the area. To be more specific, this is when they have to go through the Mara River, filled with crocodiles making for dramatic sightings!

October - Chobe National Park, Botswana

The peak time to visit  Chobe National Park  in  Botswana  is in the dry season, between September to October. The Chobe River is also full during this time, luring animals like this area's famed elephants, the biggest population in the world.

November - Seychelles, Indian Ocean Islands

Seychelles  is the perfect add-on beach adventure to your African safari holiday. Although it's great year-round, it's best to go between October to November for calmer weather.

December - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park  in  Uganda  is known for being home to the endangered mountain gorilla and other primates like chimpanzees and monkeys. The best time for gorilla trekking in this park is from December to February, as it's the drier season, making the terrain less slippery.

How much does an African safari holiday cost?

How much an African safari holiday costs depends on many factors, including but not limited to which destinations, accommodation options, transport, activities and inclusions you opt for. There are also add-ons like a private guide and charter flights to make your African safari holiday that much more luxurious. As a rough estimate, prices generally range between $250 and $2500 per person per night.

Safari holidays

Incredible safari holidays with kuoni.

No matter how many wildlife documentaries you’ve seen, nothing can prepare you for the real thing. Let us take you on an African safari holiday .

The term ‘safari’ comes from a Swahili word meaning ‘journey’. Take Jeep rides deep into the wilderness or fly into tiny national park airstrips where lions roam the runway. Soar over herds of zebra at sunrise in a hot-air balloon, sleep out in a luxury treehouse under a blanket of stars, or book your seat for the greatest wildlife show on Earth where over a million wildebeest migrate across the scorched plains.

We’ve spent more than 40 years finding the best African safari experiences and places to stay. We can put you in touch with incredible local guides and tell you about the safari camps where elephants walk right through the lobby. Our safari experts love sharing their tips and advice to make sure you have the best safari holiday possible – in fact, we were voted Best Medium Safari, Nature & Wildlife Holiday Company at the British Travel Awards 2019.

We know that some guests enjoy a more sociable experience with like-minded travellers, while others love the thrill of an independent adventure, so with us you can choose an escorted small group safari or an independent tailor-made safari where you’ll have your own private driver/guide.

Whether it’s your first trip to Africa or you just can’t stop going back, talk to us and we can help create the perfect tailor-made safari for you.

Getting around

The Kruger National Park is approx a 5-6 hour drive from Johannesburg. The area is quite vast but depending on which lodge you stay in we recommend flying into either Skukuza or Hoedspruit airports where you can drive or be transferred to your lodge.

Highlights of Kruger National Park and surrounds

Everybody  should go on a safari at least once in their life, and where better than  South Africa's  world-famous Kruger National Park and the Eastern Cape, rich in wildlife and home to the Big Five.

One of  Africa’s  biggest game reserves, Kruger is home not only to the Big Five (FYI, that’s lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos), but hundreds of other mammals and birds, too. For wildlife, Kruger National Park is pretty much unparallelled. Not only that, rolling savannah and distant mountains make for the safari setting of dreams.

Want to experience safari without skimping on luxury? You’re in luck. Kruger National Park and the Eastern Cape is famous not only for its vast and diverse variety of flora and fauna, but also for its luxury safari lodges, so you get the best of both worlds.

Here’s how to make the most out of your Kruger safari trip:

Kruger safaris are always sensational, but there’s nothing quite like taking a game drive around the National Park by sunset or sunrise. Spot the Big Five before the rest of the world wakes up, as well as cheetahs, wild dogs, antelopes, honey-badgers, bush babies and up to 350 bird species.

For a different safari experience altogether, how about walking Kruger safari tours with expert field guides and trackers? There’s nothing quite like it for feeling close to the action and at one with the wildlife.

If you’re feeling fancy, take a helicopter flight across the bushveld and over the Blyde River Canyon. The views will take your breath away, and the ride itself is a thrill. You might even be lucky enough to spot a herd of elephants from way up in the sky, where you’ll be able to watch the magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

Enjoy phenomenal stargazing – some of the best in  South Africa  – from  Jock Safari Lodge , where you can even choose to sleep out on your riverside sala for the best outdoorsy experience.

Planning on taking the kids? They’re in for a treat! Drop them off at  Ulusaba Rock Lodges's  ‘Cub’s Club’ for mini rangers’ courses, safari goodies and activities which will inspire even the most apprehensive of little ones. Kruger National Park holidays are truly the best for individuals and groups of all kinds, including families of all sizes and ages.

Many of the lodges celebrate the local Shangaan culture with traditional singing and dancing after dinner or around the BOMA by night, a beautiful and harmonious treat for everyone.

Often when you think of safari holidays, you think of basic lodges and tents. But that’s not how we do safaris at Virgin Holidays, oh no! We’re all about treating you to a bit of luxury, no matter your destination.

Safaris in the Kruger Park safaris are always sensational, but there’s nothing quite like taking a game drive around one of the lodge’s private concessions. Choose a lodge in the Sabi Sands reserve and you will be able to skip the crowds and search for wildlife in your very own piece of paradise, with less vehicles and the ability to do night-drives, you really will feel spoilt. Book the exclusive Cliff Lodge at  Ulusaba  for jaw-dropping views and a private pool, as well as world-class service, or sleep under the stars in the oh-so-exclusive Chalkley’s Treehouse at  Lion Sands . Kick back with a cocktail at the  Motswari Private Game Reserve , which looks onto a watering hole, and watch animals come and go as you sip.

Special occasion? Celebrate your honeymoon with romantic private dining under the African skies and enjoy a hot stone massage using Africology products at the Aroma Boma Spa, Ulusaba.

Sounds just a  little  bit better than you were expecting, hey?

Foodies, rejoice: you’ll get to taste some delicious local food as part of your Kruger safari packages:

  • After an early start spotting the Big Five, a post-safari breakfast will be extremely welcome. How does poaches eggs on a Boerewors patty, a specialist sausage, sound? Thought so.
  • Lunch is served followed by high tea before afternoon game-drive then it is time for the best bit, sundowners. Enjoy stretching your legs in the park where your ranger will select a gorgeous spot for you to enjoy some traditional South African snacks with a cool cocktail or some fine local wine.
  • Feast on Kudu burgers from a  Braai , a traditional African BBQ – super succulent and so tasty you’ll want seconds, and maybe thirds. Even better, enjoy your dinner around the BOMA, with breathtaking views across the plains – the perfect sunset dining experience.
  • As for drink, South Africa is, of course, famous for its vineyards, which means one thing and one thing only: wine. And good wine, at that. Try Pinotage, Chenin Blanc and other new world wines from local vineyards. What a way to wind down at the lodge after a day of wildlife-spotting!

It’s high time you booked yourself and your family or loved ones onto that safari trip you’ve been talking about for years, huh?

Let’s get this show on the road: browse our  Kruger National Park hotels  and lodges right now, this minute, and you’ll soon be hanging out with (okay, near) lions in the African bush.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can you go on a safari in africa.

Some of the most popular national parks for safaris include Kruger in South Africa , Masai Mara in Kenya , and the Serengeti in Tanzania . However, there are so many other incredible parks to visit in Africa. We can help you decide the right parks for you depending on what you’re looking for. For example, Madikwe and the Eastern Cape in South Africa are great for families. The Sabi Sands Conservancy in Greater Kruger National Park is ideal for those seeking ultra-luxury. Kenya and Tanzania offer an abundance of wildlife roaming across the African plains. Zimbabwe , Zambia and Botswana are also remarkable safari destinations, with Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River as additional highlights. Rwanda , Uganda , and Namibia will all provide different safari experiences, perfect for return travellers to Africa.

Is Kenya or South Africa better for safaris?

Both destinations offer different experiences, wildlife, and types of safaris. South Africa is recommended for families due to its malaria-free game reserves and exceptional food. You can also combine your safari with a visit to a beach, city and wineries. You’re likely to see more wildlife in Kenya. In Kenya, you’ll probably visit more than one national park and see a greater variety of landscapes and animals. Plus, you can combine your safari with a beach stay in Mombasa, Lamu, or Watamu.

Which African country has the best safaris?

This is an impossible question to answer! Each and every safari is completely unique. What you see also depends on your own personal experience and luck. We can guarantee that once you’ve been on a safari, it will remain one of your best holidays. Call our destination experts to discuss which country best suits your holiday dreams.

How many days do you need for a safari?

Anything from 2 nights to 14 nights or longer. We suggest a minimum of 2 nights, as this means you have one full day at the lodge. This allows you at least two safaris (morning and afternoon), the chance to have a spa treatment, relax by the pool, go on a walking safari, and admire the natural surroundings of the African bush. If you’re a wildlife aficionado or an eager photographer, the longer, the better.

Where can I see the Big Five on safari?

For a chance to track the Big Five on a safari, head to South Africa , Kenya , Tanzania , Botswana or Namibia . You can see all five animals — the lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros — in each of these destinations, although they may be spread across several parks.

Can I take my family on safari?

A family safari is an unforgettable adventure, and we highly recommend it. That said, certain game lodges have age restrictions for children, and some safaris set a minimum age for safety reasons. Talk to our Destination Specialists to find the best family safari for you.

Are African safaris dangerous?

There is an element of danger in any safari as you are in wild terrain surrounded by wildlife. However, the lodges we select and the partners we work with ensure safety is at the forefront of their day-to-day duties, so you should not be concerned.

How do I book a safari holiday with Hayes & Jarvis?

You can book your safari holidays for 2023-2024 with Hayes & Jarvis by:

  • Calling us at 020 8106 2403
  • Scheduling a callback
  • Or by writing to us

How much does an African safari holiday cost?

Our expert-curated African safari holidays start at £2,499 per person.

Which is the best month to go on an Africa safari holiday?

The dry months from June to October and January to March are normally the best and most recommended months to go on African safari holidays. However, there might be variations depending on the wildlife parks you pick and the experiences you are looking to have. It is best to speak to our Africa experts for more destination-specific information.

How many days are enough for a safari holiday?

You will need at least two nights to experience the main highlights of your safari holidays. This is so that you can head out on at least two safari drives and have a good chance of spotting Africa’s Big Five and other wildlife. This also gives you enough time to sign up for guided nature walks, spa sessions, and other activities.

What equipment or clothing should I pack for a safari holiday?

While on a safari drive, long-sleeved shirts, T-shirts, and full-length cargo pants in muted or camouflage colours work best. Early mornings and evenings can get quite chilly during winter, so wear a warm jacket. Sun hats, sunglasses, and sunblock are essential for your time in the sun. Depending on your interests, we also recommend carrying binoculars and photography gear.

Which destination in Africa offers the best safari experience?

No two African destinations are alike, and each offers something special and unique:

  • South Africa

Is Masai Mara better than the Serengeti?

The Masai Mara and the Serengeti are both extraordinary African safari holiday destinations. Kenya is a more well-established safari destination with a wider choice of hotels and easier access to game parks. As a result, it is the more popular pick. The Masai Mara is a smaller area with higher wildlife density, so it’s easier to spot animals.

The Serengeti is much larger than the Mara, and the wildlife is spread out over a larger geographical region. While you can witness the Great Migration at both destinations, you can experience it across a much longer window in the Serengeti.

Home of the tailor-made safari holiday you've been dreaming about

Your bespoke Kenya safari holiday is all about abundant game viewing, jaw-dropping scenery and long sandy beaches.

A Kenya safari holiday really captures the spirit of East Africa, as well as the imaginations of all who venture to its vast savannahs, tropical shores and dramatic peaks. Widely regarded as being the home of the safari, Kenya boasts over fifty National Parks and Reserves, offering some of the most unique game viewing experiences on the planet. Combined with the seemingly never-ending Indian Ocean coastline, it’s easy to see why Kenya is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Africa.

Safari Wildlife

Kenya’s Parks and Reserves are ranked amongst the best in the world, playing host to iconic and endangered species including the Big Five. Kenya unquestionably offers unrivalled wildlife viewing.

The Masai Mara is of course the most famous park in Kenya thanks to the vast amount of wildlife it supports. If you're looking for the chance to see Big Cats, or the Great Migration, then this is the place to be. The Great Migration happens between July and October, when torrents of wildebeest and zebra flood the savannahs of the Masai Mara, because the grass is always greener! These herbivores are of course followed by plenty of predators looking for an easy meal so it is also a brilliant time of year to see big cats and perhaps even a chase.

If it’s elephants you’re after, head to Amboseli or Tsavo, for rhino Lewa and for unusual endemic wildlife, Samburu is the place to be. Meanwhile bird-watchers should check out the Great Rift Valley, with its shimmering pink flamingo-filled lagoons and over 450 other bird species to look out for.

For the ultimate Kenya safari experience, we would recommend coming two or more safari areas so that you can experience the countrys diverse landscape and a spot a true variety of safari animals.

Safari activities

As well as classic game drives and bush walks which are a real treat for the sense, Kenya safaris are all about doing something a little different such as hot air ballooning over the Masai Mara , camel trekking across the Laikipia Plateau,horse-riding in Lewa or spending the night fly camping beneath the twinkling stars.

Kenya culture

Kenya is also known for its tribal diversity, and it’s likely your safari guide will a warrior or tribe member from the community. Visits to villages can be arranged which gives a fascinating insight into the local culture and children can take part in 'warrior academies' where they learn to identity different animal tracks and poop, as well as warrior techniques to light as fire.

National Parks and Private Conservancies

Many of our guests choose to stay in a private conservancy for their Kenyan safari.as these offer a more private experience with fewer vehicles, as well as the chance to go off-road and try alterative safari activities such as walking or riding. Private conservancies border the national parks with no barriers to the animals so they can wander freely between the two, but the public cannot. For example the Masai Mara National Park borders the Mara North and Mara Naboisho.

Kenyan beaches

A Kenya safari and beach holiday is one of our most popular trip options and with good reason! Relax by Kenya's striking blue waters lapping gently against pristine white sand beaches, Kenya’s coast offers an idyllic getaway for honeymooners, families, and everyone in between.

Boasting hundreds of miles of coral reefs, world-class diving, deep-sea fishing and enough watersports activities to keep you entertained for weeks, a stay in Watamu, Mombasa or Lamu is the perfect way to end your safari holiday.

Best time to visit

A Kenya safari offers fantastic wildlife viewing throughout the year, but there are two times of year that are particularly special.

The first is July to September which is the country's dry season, and is also when the Great Migration happens. The short grasses of the dry season make spotting wildlife easy and temperatures tend to be warm in the day and cool at night. The dry season is also a brilliant time to visit the Kenyan coast where you can enjoy sunny days without the risk of rain.

December to February is also a wonderful time for a Kenyan holiday. A safari Christmas and some winter sun is a very special holiday you will be sure to remember, and the rains are short during December. January and February is typically the calving season giving you a wonderful chance to see new born animals and migratory birds. There are fewer visitors at this time of year to July to September making it a brilliant time of year for those wanting to avoid the crowd and see some fantastic wildlife amongst the long, green grasses.

The peak rainy season is between March and May where it can get very wet and rain for much of the day - this is best avoided is possible.

When to go to Kenya

Find out the best time to visit Kenya with our month by month guide.

January is a great time for wildlife viewing. The landscapes are lush and green after the 'short rains' and newborn animals can been seen. It is hot, but brief afternoon or evening showers cool things down, without compromising your safari. Over on the coast the sea is clear, making it ideal for diving and snorkelling, and the days are warm and bright.

February is an ideal time to visit Kenya, and great for game viewing. The landscapes are green and thriving thanks to the short rains, and newborn animals will be hopping around the plains. There maybe a few afternoon showers which are welcome in the heat, and don't impact on wildlife viewing. Water clarify is excellent at the moment, which is good news for watersports enthusiasts. And if you want to spot a whale shark, now is the time to try.

Still a good option for wildlife viewing and diving, although with the 'long rains' just around the corner, expect wetter and hotter weather.

April brings the start of the 'long rains' which means game reserves and national parks become muddy and harder to drive around. Over on the coast it's hot and wet, so it isn't the best time of year to travel. Some camps and lodges close during this period.

The 'long rains' continue into May, making park tracks difficult to navigate in the mud, and the coast very warm and wet. There will be less accommodation choice at this time as several lodges and camps during this period.

June is a beautiful time of year to visit Kenya, with the rains receding to just light showers, and the long dry season not far ahead. The high grasses can sometimes make it more of a challenge to spot game, but the landscapes are lush and some animals may begin arriving early for the migration. At altitude nights can be cool, but elsewhere the temperature is pleasant.

July marks the beginning of the great migration into the Masai Mara , and with warm and generally dry weather, this is a great time of year to visit. Days are sunny, skies are blue and there isn't too much dust around, so it's a great time for photography.

The migration is now in full swing in the Masai Mara, with lots of river crossing action, so if you want to see those massive herds of wildebeest and zebra, now is the time to come. Game viewing in general is excellent and it's one of the most popular times of year to visit, so some of the main parks do become crowded. Temperatures are warm and dry.

Game viewing continues to be excellent, and the weather is generally dry so this is another ideal month to visit Kenya's parks. The bush is less dense and as animals gather around waterholes and rivers it makes wildlife spotting much easier.

October is a great time if you want to avoid the crowds and don't mind the temperature slowly starting to rise. There may be a few short showers, but game viewing remains excellent with the end of the migration, and it's a good time to holiday anywhere in Kenya.

November heralds the start of the 'short rains' and with hotter temperatures some camps are closed. The Mara however is still open, and despite sometimes stormy skies, game viewing is still good. Fewer crowds and lower prices make this an attractive month to visit. Over on the coast water clarify is good for snorkelling and diving.

The 'short rains' are bringing the landscapes back to life, and as the plains start to become green again, wildlife viewing remains good, and it's a great time for birding. Some camps are closed (mainly in the north of Kenya) but many others remain open. The showers tend to fall in the afternoons and don't impact greatly on a safari. Take advantage of reduced visitor numbers and lower prices.

Safari Holidays

Once-in-a-lifetime safari holidays in africa.

Explore has over 35 years' experience in creating ground-breaking safari holidays to Africa's most iconic national parks and wildlife reserves. There is no better continent than Africa for the wildlife enthusiast. From primates to predators, from the spectacle of the wildebeest migration to the miracle of the Okavango Delta, the Mother Continent always delivers wildlife in abundance, dramatic landscapes and the best wilderness experience. However, Africa is no doubt an immense continent and encompasses an incredible variety of ecosystems, so making a decision on where to travel, can be rather challenging.  A safari holiday in Botswana provides many with the ultimate 'off the beaten track' wilderness experience. Its low impact policy means that the numbers of visitors are strictly monitored, which gives a sense of real privilege to those who venture in to this remote territory. Miraculously in the heart of the Kalahari - one of the most inhospitable, vast and arid deserts on the planet - is one of the richest wetland habitats: the Okavango Delta. This sophisticated system of intricate canals, waterways, lagoons and grasslands is home to some outstanding wildlife and can be explored by 4WD, canoe or even from a house boat. Safaris in Kenya offer world-renowned game reserves, most famously the Maasai Mara. Visit between July and October to witness the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores migrate from the Serengeti to the grasslands of the Maasai Mara. Kenya is also home to Nakuru National Park, famous for its population of black rhino, and the Aberdare Mountains, which boasts spectacular views of Mount Kenya.   Namibia is popular for its deserts, canyons, enormous sand dunes and dramatic coastline and also features an enormous wildlife sanctuary, Etosha National Park.  Waterholes and huge salt pans are the main landmarks in the park and form an excellent backdrop for its prolific wildlife: zebra, antelopes, giraffe, rhino and of course, the big cats. A South African safari tour always visits Kruger National Park. This iconic park has enabled generations of travellers to observe the “big five” from close-up, while the Western Cape is the best place to see humpback whales and even penguins!

Why should I go on a small group tour for my safari holiday?

There is no better continent than African for wildlife enthusiasts. Our safari itineraries are expertly designed to take you to the best places for an unforgettable safari experience, at the best times of the year. Our small group tours take you into the heart of the national parks, with game drives at the best times of the day to spot the wildlife. Our local leaders have expert knowledge of the animals, including how to track them so you can get up close. We include unique accommodation in prime locations to immerse you in the animal kingdom (whilst also keeping you safe of course). Our accommodation includes houseboats in the Okavango Delta Panhandle where you'll be surrounded by water-dwelling wildlife and exotic birds, and safari lodges and camps within the national parks where you can sleep under the stars and listen to the wildlife around you. Choose a small group tour for your safari and you are guaranteed an incredible wildlife-watching experience.

Is a safari tour suitable for solo travellers?

Yes, definitely! All our small group tours , including our once-in-a-lifetime safari holidays, are perfect for solo holidays . You'll be joined by like-minded people in an average group size of around 11, and you'll have an expert local leader to scout out the animals and give you the best wildlife experience.

What is a typical day on a safari holiday?

On a safari with Explore you will generally wake up early and be on a game drive as soon as the sun rises. This is the best time to be out on safari in Africa as the animals are still active before the heat of the day sets in. As it gets hot, you will return to camp to have brunch and can take time to discuss the morning's wildlife sightings and like the animals, have a snooze. In the late afternoon as the heat subsides our groups usually get back in our vehicles to head out for a few more hours of safari.

What are the safari vehicles like?

Our vehicles for game drives are built for off road conditions and provide great viewing opportunities for visitors hoping to see some of the exotic animals that can be found in Africa. You should expect some rugged roads and wild conditions; it is in these real wilderness settings that we experience the best wildlife sightings. Your vehicles will normally have 4x4, roof hatches and a cool box for late afternoon sundowners.

When is the best time of year to go on a safari trip?

This depends on where you're going and what you want to see. We only run tours when it’s a good time to visit, but there may be specific wildlife you want to see and there will be better times to see certain species, largely due to migrations. If you don't like really hot temperatures, find out when the weather is cooler in your safari destination.

What should I wear on a safari holiday?

Most people expect Africa to be hot but it can be cold at times, particularly early in the morning and late at night. Pack layers, including a warm fleece or jacket. Neutral colours like khaki and green are best when on safari, but they’re not essential. Try to avoid wearing white though, as this will catch the attention of animals the most. Protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunglasses. Dust can also be a problem in the dry months, so sunglasses will protect your eyes. A lightweight bandana is good to wear, as you can pull it up to protect your face when the dust flies. Get more advice in our 7 tips for your first African safari blog.

What should I pack for a safari?

  • Neutral coloured, lightweight clothing - long-sleeved shirts and long trousers
  • Warm clothing for cooler mornings and evenings
  • Sun hat and sunglasses
  • A lightweight bandana to protect your face from dust
  • Insect repellent
  • Waterbottle
  • Camera and equipment, including a bag or pouch and a cloth or similar to protect it from dust
  • Torch or head torch
  • Anti-malarial tablets (depending on where you're going, ask your GP or local travel clinic)

A safari tour is an adventurous journey that offers travelers an opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitats. Typically, safaris are associated with African destinations, but they can be found in various parts of the world.

Packing for a safari requires some specific items: light and breathable clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, a camera, comfortable walking shoes, and any personal medications.

While safaris are generally safe, it's essential to follow the guidelines provided by your guides and rangers. We ensure that our trips are led by experienced professionals familiar with the environment and its wildlife.

Yes, children are welcome on most of our safari tours. However, some specific trips or activities might have age restrictions. Please check the details of the safari package you're interested in or contact our team for clarification.

Accommodation varies depending on the safari package you choose. We offer everything from luxury lodges to tented camps. You can find detailed descriptions and photos on our "Accommodations" page.

It's advisable to consult with a travel clinic or your physician about the recommended vaccinations for the region you'll be visiting. Common vaccines include Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, and Tetanus.

The wildlife you encounter will depend on the region and time of year. Typically, travelers can expect to see animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and many bird species. Each safari description on our site provides a list of commonly sighted animals.

The best time often depends on the region and your wildlife viewing preferences. However, the dry season, when water sources are limited, is generally considered an excellent time for wildlife viewing as animals tend to congregate around waterholes.

Public Holidays: Two coming up in May

E xcitement brews among school pupils across South Africa as May promises not one, but two public holidays. The first of these much-anticipated breaks falls on 1 May, celebrated nationwide as  Workers’ Day .

Furthermore, adding to the joy, President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared 29 May as a public holiday, marking the date for the general national and provincial elections.

PRESIDENT PROCLAIMS 29 MAY AS PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR ELECTION DAY

In accordance with constitutional obligations,  President Ramaphosa proclaimed 29 May as Election Day  after extensive consultations with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

Vincent Magwenya, Spokesperson to the President, affirmed this decision, stating, “The President has also, in terms of Section 2A of the Public Holidays Act (Act No 36 of 1994), proclaimed the day of the election, 29 May 2024 as a public holiday throughout the Republic.”

The anticipation for these holidays is heightened, especially as South Africans, including school pupils are set to lose a public holiday this weekend, with Freedom Day falling on Saturday, 27 April.

The South African  reported that according to the  Public Holidays Act   (Act No 36 of 1994) , when a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed as a public holiday. However, if a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is considered void.

While the upcoming weekend may seem devoid of an extra day off. School pupils have something to look forward to in May.

When is Memorial Day 2024? What to know about federal holiday, what’s open in Florida

safari holidays may 2024

We are less than a week away from the beginning of May, which means Memorial Day is just around the corner.

With origins dating back to the 1800s, the holiday seeks to commemorate those who died while serving in the U.S. military. The holiday has also been touted as the "unofficial start of summer" over the years.

Here's when Memorial Day falls this year and what is open on the holiday.

What holidays are in May?

There are two major holidays in May: Mother's Day and Memorial Day. Many people in the U.S. also celebrate Cinco de Mayo on May 5.

When is Memorial Day 2024? When is Memorial Day weekend 2024?

Memorial Day is always celebrated on the last Monday of May, with this year's being on Monday, May 27. Memorial Day weekend starts on Friday, May 24, and lasts through the holiday until Monday.

Why is Memorial Day observed?

While Memorial Day's origins are unclear, USA TODAY reported observances to honor service people began after the Civil War, which ended in 1865. It was first referred to as  Decoration Day .

According to usmemorialday.org, the first observed celebration for the holiday occurred on May 30, 1868, due to Gen. John A. Logan, the leader of the Grand Army of the Republic for Northern Civil War veterans. Logan would then sent out  an official order designating May 30  as a day of remembrance for those who died serving in the Civil War.

Up until World War I, northern and southern states celebrated different states to honor their fallen soldiers. Following WWI, the holiday's focus shifted to honor American soldiers who died in any war, not only the Civil War, the  History Channel reports .

In 1968 when Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act – to give federal employees more three-day weekends throughout the year – Memorial Day moved to the last Monday in May. It was also declared a federal holiday in 1971.

Is Memorial Day a federal holiday?

Yes, it is one of 11 federal holidays in the U.S. Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971.

Is Publix open on Memorial Day? Here what's open, closed in Florida on Memorial Day

With Memorial Day being a federal holiday, all banks, schools and nonessential government offices will be closed for the holiday weekend. However, most restaurants, grocery stores and convenience stores will be open. So if you need to grab groceries at Publix or get prescriptions filled at Walgreens, you're in the clear!

However, the following stores are closed on Memorial Day:

Way Day deals won't go live until Saturday. May 4. However, Wayfair always has discounts and well-priced must-haves. These are the steals you'll want to check out ahead of the big event.

These solid wood Adirondack chairs come in four colors and can hold up to 275 pounds at a time — they're weather- and water-resistant, too. Score one (or two) now for nearly 60% off.

A stylish sofa will set the scene of your living room or den and this attractive lounger works with any aesthetic — it also converts to a twin-sized bed for overnight guests. The plush velvet adds comfort, while the tufted seat and wooden legs give it a vintage look. Choose from six colors including gray, black, blue and light green.

Available in a bevy of colors, this barrel chair fits anywhere in your home. We're big fans of the swivel's versatility — add a pair to the conversation area of your living room, then spin 'em around for TV time.

How's this for a deal: You can currently grab this fan-favorite pillow for just $22 — that's nearly 80% off. Filled with shredded ActiveRelief memory foam, the pieces allow for more airflow and manipulability so you can form the pillow to the contours of your head for just the right comfort.

Here's an easy way to create a larger outdoor space this summer that's as well-appointed as your living room. Start with this 10-piece set, now over 50% off, that includes a sectional, ottoman and two tables — one even opens to use as storage for pool gear and beach towels.

It features Sealy's special CopperChill Technology and cooling memory foam to help keep you cool and dry while you slumber. With a medium-firm feel and added lumbar support, it's great for relieving pressure points.

Nearly 60,000 Wayfair shoppers give these easy-care microfiber sheets (now 50% off) five stars. They wash with less wrinkles — a big plus! — and are available in every size and a ton of colors. The queen set comes with one fitted sheet, one flat sheet and four pillowcases.

We love this dresser for its ample drawer space and sharp good looks — mid-century style shines through the clean lines and walnut veneers. It's the ultimate way to amp up your bedroom or hallway storage. Grab one while it's over 43% off.

If your dull knives make you dread having to slice through a tomato, a new set is in order — and this one's a whopping 60% off. It comes with an attractive wood block and includes a carving/slicing knife, chef knife, bread knife, santoku knife, utility knife, paring knife, steak knives and kitchen shears. Plus, it even has a built-in sharpener to keep everything nice and pointy.

If stainless steel is your thing, you can't go wrong with this stunning Cuisinart set that's had its price slashed by an insane 75%. It features a Dutch oven, stock pot, sauté pan, steamer basket, two saucepans, two frying pans and five lids, plus cool-touch handles to keep your hands safe.
