CRUISE TO THE EDGE 2022 ANNOUNCEMENT   It is with huge disappointment that due to the change of dates, Steve will not now be able to appear on the 2022 CTTE. The move of the cruise dates has meant that our current plans and routing for the SECONDS OUT + MORE CANADA & USA TOUR 2022 during this period would have been severely impacted and leaves us with no choice. Steve Hackett Sets More Dates of His ‘Genesis Revisited’ Tour

Steve Hackett will be revisiting his stellar work with Genesis when he launches the North American leg of his “Genesis Revisited: Foxtrot at Fifty + Hackett Highlights” tour in fall 2023. The concerts will be preceded by a tour throughout Europe this spring and summer, that begins April 19 in Paris. Tickets can be purchased here.

The show will feature the 1972 Genesis album, Foxtrot , performed in full, plus additional fan favorites. Long considered one of prog rock’s classic releases, the album featured such all-time great Genesis tracks as “Watcher of the Skies” and the epic “Supper’s Ready.”

Hackett joined Genesis in 1971 as the guitarist in the band’s classic line-up alongside Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins. Hackett’s intricate guitar work was a key element of Genesis’ albums from Nursery Cryme (1971) through Wind and Wuthering (1977) including the classic Selling England By the Pound .

After leaving Genesis at the end of 1977, Hackett’s solo career, which now spans more than 30 albums, has demonstrated his extraordinary versatility with both electric and acoustic guitar. Hackett, born Feb. 12, 1950, is renowned as both an immensely talented and innovative rock musician and a virtuoso classical guitarist and composer and this was recognized in 2010 when he was inducted with Genesis into the Rock & Hall of Fame. He has also worked alongside Steve Howe of YES in the supergroup GTR.

In recent years, he released Selling England By the Pound & Spectral Mornings: Live at Hammersmith , a live recording of his 2019 tour celebrating that Genesis classic together with the 40th anniversary of one of his most-loved solo albums. The lockdown also gave Hackett the opportunity to write and record two new studio albums, Under a Mediterranean Sky and Surrender of Silence .

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Hospitalized in Phoenix: Latest Update on Steve Hackett

The Genesis alum is still on the mend after his scary ordeal.

Former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett is on the mend after being rushed to the hospital before a scheduled performance in Phoenix. According to Ultimate Classic Rock , the 74-year-old was set for the continuation of his Foxtrot at Fifty + Hackett Highlights tour, when he was hospitalized.

The guitarist updated fans with a note on Facebook, including a photo of himself in the hospital. "Hello everyone, I'm so sorry for the scare," Hackett wrote. "I'd hoped to power through the Phoenix show, but I had a bronchial infection and a last-minute adverse reaction to medication. Consequently, the medics took me to hospital. I am now recovering and glad to be feeling OK. I was very sad to miss the show and I will return to play in Phoenix as soon as possible. My thanks to you all for your understanding and support. With warmest wishes, Steve."

The tour is likely a boon for Genesis fans, as Hackett was playing the entire Foxtrot album during the tour. Promoter Danny Zelisko Presents is working to reschedule the show, according to Ultimate Classic Rock.

Hackett was with Genesis from 1971 until 1977, leaving to focus on his solo work after the departure of former lead singer Peter Gabriel. After his departure, the band took on a different direction under Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, and Nic Collins. The band from Hackett's era did reunite for Genesis: Together and Apart , a documentary for BBC, but he was critical of the project after it aired.

He was invited to the band's final concert in 2022 , but was unable to attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Gabriel was in attendance but didn't perform with the band.
