Turks Launches

A warm welcome aboard from all of us here at Turks Thames Cruises, we’re a 310 year old, family run, Thames river boat company. Each year we carry 1000’s of passengers to explore the stunning stretch of Thames between Richmond and Hampton Court Palace.

March  to October, Turk Launches run up-to 45 boat trips daily along the most scenic stretch of the River Thames, capturing the history and beauty of Richmond and Kingston -upon-Thames, and Hampton Court Palace.  Their eye-catching fleet of boats are each stylishly furnished, with a bar, toilet and outside deck. You may recognise this boat from scenes in the British TV drama New Tricks and it was also the boat featured in Culture Club’s Karma Chamelon video.

All our boats are wheelchair, mobility scooter and pram accessible by ramp. All boats, except Star, Storm and Sky Clipper, have accessible toilets and larger boats have baby changing tables.

All our piers are step-free and wheelchair accessible except for Cadogan, London Bridge City and Wandsworth Riverside Quarter piers.

Mobility scooter owners are welcome on board but need first to apply for our Mobility Scooter Recognition Scheme .

You can bring your guide or assistance dog on board for free.

Any person with a valid Disabled I.D. badge/card, will get 50% off ticket fares and a complimentary ticket for their carer.

Thames River Cruises 

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is the fastest, most frequent and reliable fleet on the River Thames - carrying over 4 million passengers last year. Unlike most other forms of public transport, we are always reliable - the only days our river boats don’t run are Christmas and Boxing Day.

Thames River Boats 

Our Thames river boats are fully equipped with comfortable seating and plenty of space. Our larger river boats all have licenced on-board bars, with a range of coffees, snacks and alcoholic drinks. They all have toilet facilities, and some even have baby changing facilities. Our Thames river buses have Metro and City AM newspapers available on board and Free Wi-Fi is available at our main piers. Finding the boats, important – the boats move and we now operate from multiple locations always check your booking instructions and see below for the different mooring positions., tamesis club is our new embarcation (start) point for most of our cruises this season. however, please check your details carefully as some cruises will be from our kingston mooring., education days will mostly be at teddington lock but please check your booking details., cruise embarcations from tamesis club cruises on thames discoverer will start from tamesis club, which is on the river in teddington, has free parking and easy access to the river. .

D irections by road :  The postcode for Tamesis Club is TW11 9QY , Trowlock Way, Teddington.  Trowlock Way is a turning off Broom Road (Lower Teddington Road if you are coming from Kingston/Hampton Wick).  Follow Trowlock Way until Teddington School is on your left and then turn right into the car park signposted Tamesis Club.  Drive through this car park to the far end.  On the right, go through metal gates into a second car park, which is the Tamesis Club car park.  Free parking is available here.  Please park against the hedge on the right-hand side or in front of the large building in front of you as you enter the car park.

Cruise embarcations from Kingston Kingston cruises on Thames Discoverer or Thames Venturer will start from the riverside at John Lewis.

Directions by road : When on the Kingston one way system, follow the signs to the Bentalls and John Lewis car parks. Keep in the right hand lane as you come past the Bentalls car park.  KT1 1TN is the postcode for the entrance to the John Lewis car park. As you approach the car park entrance, don’t go in, but keep right and turn right onto Thames Side where there is a bus parking bay.  A crew member will be waiting to meet you.

Cruise embarcations from Walton and Weybridge We can also start our cruises on Thames Discoverer from Walton or Weybridge.  

For Weybridge , we start from the car park at Weybridge Ladies Amateur Rowing Club, Thames Towpath, Walton Lane, Weybridge, KT13 8LU . For Walton , we start from either The Anglers Pub on Manor Lane in Old Walton, KT12 2PF or from Cowey Sale (close to Walton Bridge), Walton Lane, Walton, KT12 1AR .

School on the River Mooring Teddington

Renting a boat in Kingston upon Thames

It's easy to rent a boat in Kingston with GoBoat. Just book online and show up 15 minutes before the booked time at our Kingston location. The person driving must be 18 years old.

You could try your luck turning up at our location in Kingston to see if we have available boats. If so, we are happy to rent you a boat. However, we always recommend booking online to avoid dissapointment.

We'll teach you how to sail and instruct you about the rules of the waterways. No license is required. Have a look at how sailing a GoBoat works.

Rules and information about renting a GoBoat in Kingston:

• A maximum of 8 people can sit in a GoBoat
• No boating license or prior experience is needed
• Alcohol restrictions apply: a maximum of two beers/ cans or half a bottle of wine per person. The captain (driver) must remain sober at all times
• A GoBoat's speed is about 3 knots (3.5mph) so you can enjoy each other's company and the sights along the river
• You can reschedule or make amendments up to 48 hours before your booking

The Cockney Sparrow was built in 1976 at Eel Pie Island. She is a two level boat with a deceptively large enclosed saloon and an open top deck. 

M.V Connaught was built by Salter Brothers of Oxford in 1911 & has been cruising between Westminster, Kew, Richmond & Hampton Court for over 100 years. Connaught regularly operates on our services & is also available for private charters.
