Excellent Experience and super glad it is in Appleton. Captain Gary and 1st Mate Adje did an excellent job and pointed out wildlife (Deer, Mink, Eagles, Pelicans, Osprey) and uniqueness along a part of the lower Fox that we rarely get to see by water. We will definitely be back. Thanks Again.
We enjoyed an amazing sunset cruise with Captain Mike and First Mate Brock! The boat is comfortable and the crew provided a nice relaxing cruise of the river. Highly recommended for an enjoyable time on the water!

When using the lower deck and upper deck of the Riverboats, the maximum capacity for a sightseeing charter is 90 guests.
The Riverboats can accommodate 36 guests for private seated lunch or dinner charter. Seated meals take place on the covered first level of the Riverboats. If using the outside deck area on the lower level of the Riverboat, 40 guests can be accomodated.
The Riverboats have built in wooden benches on both levels of the boat. This is perfect seating for private scenic tours of the Fox River. If the private charter includes a seated meal or if requested by the event host, staff offers eight rectangular 2’x4’ tables for seating, two 3’x6’ buffet tables and folding chairs. The tables and chairs are free of charge but need to be requested prior to the rental date. Table linens are not included.
Yes, event hosts have access to the Riverboats 30 minutes prior to the scheduled private charter rental. This time can be used to decorate the Riverboats.
Decorations are not to be stapled, nailed, glued or taped to any surfaces. Confetti, birdseeds, rice, loose glitter, candles and bubbles are not permitted.
Yes! To view the catering menu: click here
Yes, you may cater your event with outside vendors. A certificate of insurance will be needed when the food company is bringing aboard the food, setting up or serving. Proof of insurance needs to be provided 2 weeks prior to the scheduled private charter. If charterers bring food from a local restaurant and set up/serve it, an additional certificate of insurance is NOT needed.
Yes, alcohol is allowed aboard the Riverboats. A special use permit is required: click here
-If you self-serve the alcohol aboard the Riverboat, a liquor permit and Dram Shop liability insurance is needed. Proof of liquor permit and Dram Shop needs to be provided 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event rental. Here’s a recommended insurance provider by PDRMA, the park district’s risk management organization: click here
-If a catering business is hired to serve alcohol, they must show proof of a City of St. Charles liquor license and a certificate of insurance for $1 million per incident in liability listing the St. Charles Park District as “additionally insured” is needed. Proof of liquor license and insurance needs to be provided 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event rental. Hired bartender must show proof of a City of St. Charles liquor license.
Yes, a 50% deposit is due at the time of the booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the scheduled event.
-The event host and up to 5 helpers will have access to the riverboat 30 minutes before the departure time to set up for the private charter. Guests will be welcomed aboard the riverboat 10 minutes before departure time. If the departure time is 7pm, the event host and 5 helpers will be able to board at 6:30pm to set up. Guests will be welcome aboard at 6:50pm.
-You have the option to add on an additional 30 minutes of set up time for $50. We suggest adding on additional set up time if you are bringing in your own food, décor, entertainment, etc. Additional set up time must be arranged prior to the event date. If the departure time is 7pm, the event host and 5 helpers will be able to board at 6pm. Guests will be welcome aboard at 6:50pm.
Guests may begin boarding 10 minutes prior to departure time. For example, if your charter departure time is 7pm, guests can begin boarding at 6:50pm.
When the Riverboat is docked, staff will ask all guests to depart the boat. The event host is allowed up to 30 minutes to clean up after the scheduled private charter ends. If additional time is needed, there will be a charge of $50 per every 30 minutes.
The event host is responsible for the disposable of any food or items that are no longer wanted. Garbage and recycling cans are provided aboard the riverboat.
Yes, music is allowed on the boats. Both Riverboats are equipped with a sound system. Guests are welcome to connect a mobile device to play their own music. The City of St. Charles has a sound ordinance in effect daily from 10pm to 7am.
Yes, you may hire a DJ or a band to play aboard the riverboat.
-Hired entertainment must be able to supply their own battery power pack to support their equipment, as the riverboat has limited electrical power supply. Acoustic performers are a great alternative.
-Hired entertainment must provide their general liability insurance two weeks prior to the event.
Yes, there are two flushable restrooms located on the lower level of the Riverboats.
Private charters will cruise rain or shine. The Captain reserves the right to cancel a cruise due to inclement weather. In the event of a cancellation, the event host will be able to schedule the private charter to a different date or receive a full refund minus $100 from the security deposit.

Man dies after boat crashes into island on lake
Russell Co., Ky. ( WKYT /Gray News) - A man died after a boat crashed into an island on a lake in Kentucky.
Authorities said 37-year-old Anthony J. Williams was killed when a boat crashed into Cemetery Island on Lake Cumberland around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities said another person was injured in the incident and required immediate medical attention for their injuries.
“You’re just, you’re running things through your mind, you know ‘what’s going on? Have we lost a life? Or do we have someone badly injured?’” Sergeant Wayne Wilson said. “From that very moment until you get to the scene, you’re trying to gather information.”
Wilson said the lack of light out on the water contributed to the dangerous conditions faced by those involved, such as not being able to see floating objects including logs and trash.
“They were operating after dark and that enhances the dangers,” he said. “You can’t see those things floating in the water.”
Wilson said it is important to maintain a safe speed when boating on the water and to wear a life jacket to prevent drowning deaths.

Slidell High teacher accused of having sexual relationship with student, buying alcohol for students at bars
ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WVUE) - A Slidell High School teacher was arrested Tuesday (April 30) following an investigation into allegations she had an inappropriate relationship with students at the school.
The Slidell Police Department says the investigation into Alexa Wingerter, 35, began in early March after receiving complaints she was sending inappropriate photographs, text messages, and using various social media sites to inappropriately communicate with male students.
Investigators believe they found sufficient evidence during the investigation to support that Wingerter was involved in an inappropriate and sexual relationship with at least one 18-year-old male student.
Police say they also believe Wingerter was buying alcohol for her students at local bars in Slidell.
A warrant was issued and Wingerter was taken into custody and booked into jail for prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student, and unlawful purchase of alcoholic beverages on behalf of persons under 21.
The school board confirmed Wingerter was no longer employed just after noon Tuesday.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Scott O’Shaughnessy at [email protected] or 985-646-4348.

FACT CHECK: SC Freedom Caucus raises concerns over election integrity
COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The State Law Enforcement Division is now looking into allegations of voting issues after some of South Carolina’s most conservative lawmakers tweeted out a photo, saying voter registration forms were being handed out to non-citizens.
FOX Carolina Investigates has been looking into the Freedom Caucus’ allegations, too. A spokesperson for the SC State Election Commission said the form in the photo is not what the Freedom Caucus said it is .
“That form specifically allows people to turn down the opportunity to register to vote,” said spokesperson TJ Lundeen.
The form, titled “South Carolina Voter Registration Declination Form,” is mandated by federal law.
The form has to be available at voter registration offices, according to Act 42. It also has to be at and what the law calls voter agencies: federal, state or local agencies, like a South Carolina Medicaid office where the tweet said the form was handed out.
Lundeen said signing the form does not register someone as a voter.
“That does not work as an application to register to vote. It’s not something that if you filled it out, you’d be a registered voter,” he said.
When an actual voter registration application is filled out, Lundeen said an extensive vetting process follows.
The SEC partners with state organizations to verify things like addresses and citizenship, while social security numbers are checked with federal partners. They also use a system to make sure voters are not registered in multiple states.
“We ask people to be registered to vote 30 days in advance of an election because of that process. It takes a good bit of time to make sure someone is eligible and meets all the criteria to be a registered voter,” Lundeen said.
Lying on the form in any way, whether you put down a false name or falsify your citizenship, is a felony.
“We don’t have record of any charges that have come from that. We also have no record of anyone who is not a citizen voting in the state of South Carolina and that has been verified by independent audits,” Lundeen said. “We ask people to be informed not only by what is put out on social media, but by also reading our website.”
The SEC also said they are partnering with the Department of Homeland Security to audit voter rolls, and that they have received no specific information about non-citizens registering to vote.
