Here’s A Peek Into The Only Part Of Apple Park Open To The Public

The Apple Park Visitor Center is the ultimate Apple Store experience, with a roof terrace, cafe, and exclusive merchandise available nowhere else.

Jamie Ferrell

If you’re an avid Apple fan, consider paying a visit to the Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino for the ultimate Apple Store experience. The beautiful two-story building is the only part of Apple’s massive campus that’s open to the public , and it makes for an interesting peek into life for the highest echelon of Silicon Valley.

can i visit the apple park

The Apple Park Visitor Center is the top dog of all Apple Stores , elevating the typical customer transaction into something that feels even more shiny and exclusive. Of course you can go shopping for Apple’s full range of products, but the rest of the space is dedicated to a full cafe serving coffee drinks and snacks, with ample seating and a pleasant roof terrace.

can i visit the apple park

One of the most interesting elements is a large interactive 3-D model of the adjacent Apple Park , which is Apple’s enormous round fortress of a headquarters. Although the public cannot enter Apple Park, the model allows you to explore the era-defining building via augmented reality . It is the largest naturally ventilated building in the world and contains one of the world’s largest on-site solar energy installations. The gigantic groundscraper is a perfect circle covering approximately 64 acres , of which 80% is green space.

can i visit the apple park

As for the Visitor Center itself, it’s unique for its giant carbon fiber roof which seems to float atop the substantial glass walls. In fact, the roof is only supported by the center stone clad core, meaning that there are no extraneous support beams to block the 360° view. Make sure you grab a seat on the roof terrace , which affords the best possible view of the adjacent Apple Park building from outside, as well as 9,000 drought-tolerant plants in the surrounding landscape.

The most devoted Apple fans will also have a chance to purchase exclusive Apple-branded merchandise at the Apple Store, including T-shirts, hats, playing cards, and tote bags. The Visitor Center is the only place in the world where you can buy these items.

can i visit the apple park

Find the Apple Park Visitor Center at 10600 North Tantau Avenue in Cupertino , which is less than an hour drive from San Francisco. The Visitor Center is open from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and 11am-6pm on Sundays.

11 tips for visiting Apple's $5 billion headquarters, Apple Park

11 tips for visiting Apple's $5 billion headquarters, Apple Park

YouTube/Matthew Roberts

The stunning building is completely circular and features walls made out of glass. Inside of the building, which is one mile in circumfrence, Apple employees are busy working on the company's next big thing, like the new iPhones expected to come out this September.

This means Apple Park is a special place for Apple fans and devotees. Many flock to Cupertino, California, about an hour south of San Francisco, every day to get a glimpse of what some call "the spaceship."

can i visit the apple park

Here are a few tips to get the most out of visiting where Apple's magic happens:

1. You'll probably need a car to get there.

can i visit the apple park

There isn't much public transit in Silicon Valley, so tourists will need to find a way to get there from San Francisco or San Jose. A car is easiest.

2. The actual campus isn't open to the public. You can walk around the perimeter, but you can't get inside to see either the "spaceship" building or the on-campus theater where Apple launches new products.

can i visit the apple park

Apple CEO Tim Cook explained why there aren't tours for the public earlier this year.

3. But there is a visitor's center that's open to the public. It's free to the public, located across the street from the campus, and there's plenty of parking.

can i visit the apple park

It's located at 10600 N Tantau Ave, Cupertino, CA 95014, and you can find hours and other details at Apple's website .

4. The visitor's center is an Apple store, but there's a lot to do there, including an AR experience, exclusive merchandise, and a cafe.

5. Don't miss the Apple Park augmented reality experience, which lets you peek into the campus through an iPad.

can i visit the apple park

6. There are Apple Park T-shirts and other accessories you can't get anywhere else.

can i visit the apple park

The shirts and other swag are a little bit pricey.

7. If you need a pick-me-up, there's a cafe in the visitor's center with snacks and coffee. On a weekday morning, you might see Apple employees taking meetings in the sunny cafe, and the WiFi is fast and reliable.

Here's the menu — on an iPad, naturally.

8. The visitor's center is an Apple store, so you can buy an iPad, iPhone, or Mac if you wish — or a charger if you left yours at home. There is no Genius Bar or repairs available at the Apple Park visitor's center, though.

9. It's easy to miss the upstairs roof deck, but it's the highlight of the visitor's center. Look for the Jony Ive-designed stairs.

Once you're on the roof, you get the closest view of Apple Park available to the public.

can i visit the apple park

That's a glimpse of a $5 billion building between the trees.

10. It's a great place to take photos.

can i visit the apple park

The best views of Apple Park are still from the air, though.

11. and if you still can't get enough apple, infinite loop, apple's old headquarters, is a 6-minute drive away..

There's an Apple store here open to the public, too. And it's where the iPhone was invented.

Apple Park: Normal people like you can now visit

Apple's new visitor center opened to the public Friday, complete with special schwag and an AR-enabled model of the spaceship campus.

can i visit the apple park

The visitor center on Apple's spaceship campus has exclusive gear like tote bags, playing cards and baseball caps.

You no longer have to be an Apple employee or journalist to visit the company's fancy new campus.

The Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino, California, opened to the public at 9 a.m. PT on Friday. CNET got a peek at the building an hour before dozens of Apple fans poured through the glass doors.

Anyone who's been in a redesigned Apple Store will find the decor familiar -- long wooden tables covered with Apple gadgets like the  iPhone X  and tall glass walls that almost make you feel like you're outside when you're not.

can i visit the apple park

A visitor to the Apple Park Visitor Center uses an AR-equipped iPad to peer inside Apple's spaceship office building.

Along with the typical store format, this location offers a few things others don't: a cafe with the same Caffè Macs coffee Apple employees drink and a rooftop terrace that gives you a view of the spaceship office building where employees work. You can buy Apple Park schwag like T-shirts, tote bags and baseball caps, and Apple has installed a specially designed, 11,000-pound aluminum alloy model of the campus in an exhibition space. Hold an iPad in front of the model and an augmented reality app will let you peer inside the spaceship campus, fitness center or other areas of Apple Park.

"We had people hanging off the top of the building with harnesses to use 360 cameras to photograph the landscape," Peter Russell-Clarke, an Apple industrial designer, said during a meeting with a small group of reporters. The company used drone footage to "get the light quality and colors of the landscape just right," he added. Apple also used motion capture to feature people in the buildings.

Those baseball caps? Also specially created by Apple's designers. The typical metal button at the top of the hat is missing so your Beats headphones fit more smoothly, said Enrique Atienza, the senior market director who oversees Apple's US stores.

"This will be the only place in the world where you'll be able to find Apple Park merchandise," Atienza said during the meeting with reporters. It all "has been designed in close partnerships with the industrial design team here in Cupertino that basically works on all of our products."

apple-park-rooftop-terrace

The Apple Park Visitor Center has a rooftop deck that overlooks the spaceship campus.

Apple's flashy  new $5 billion campus  was one of the last projects worked on by company co-founder Steve Jobs before his death in October 2011. The famously detail-oriented leader had envisioned Apple's new headquarters as a beacon of innovation and a place for the company's employees to continue their efforts to release groundbreaking products. Apple has seen its headcount balloon since its early years, and has outgrown its offices at 1 Infinite Loop, which hold about 2,800 employees. Apple Park can hold 12,000.

The new campus has custom-built door handles, thousands of trees and a 100,000-square-foot fitness and wellness facility that boasts a two-story yoga room laid out in custom distressed stone. It also has a flashy new building, called the Steve Jobs Theater, to hosts its product launches, including that of the  iPhone X  event in September.

Apple Park's visitor center is now open for business

can i visit the apple park

The visitor center is 18 feet tall and 200 feet long, said Ben Dobbin, an architect with Foster + Partners, the firm that worked with Apple to design the new campus. The roof structure rests on two support "stone-clad cores" to give the downstairs a more open feel and look, he said during the meeting with reporters. The glass walls with curved corners, plus 18-foot tall pivot doors that open the cafe to the outdoor terrace create "this seamless experience between inside and outside," Dobbin said.

Those were all things people lined up to see Friday.

Sandy Porter traveled from Connecticut to support her son, who works at the Apple Park Visitor Center. "My son has wanted to do this since he was 11 years old," she said. Her favorite feature was the AR model of the campus. "The fact that we can see what goes on in there, how it looks and what they've done is amazing," Porter said.

Marilia Guimaraes, who makes videos about Apple products, traveled from Brazil for the visitor center opening. She also attended recent store openings in Chicago and Miami.

"I'm an Apple fan," said Guimaraes, who arrived at the visitor center two hours before it opened. "It's a beautiful store."

Visiting the Apple Park and Apple Campus

April 23, 2019 by Island Miler

I’m an Apple fan, if you didn’t already figure that out.  So, while in the Bay Area, visiting the Apple Park and Apple Campus was a goal of mine, even if that meant just taking a quick look around outside.

Getting to Apple Park

After enjoying our breakfast at Tartine Manufactory, we jumped back into our Silvercar and headed out Apple Park.  To get to Palo Alto, we took the 101, the 85, and, finally, Interstate 280.  Once on the surface streets, you’ll need to make your way to North Tantau Ave, and from there, you can drive right into the Apple Park Visitor Center.  Though there’s an above-ground parking lot, you’ll most likely end up in the underground structure as we did.  Parking, though, is free.

Visiting the Apple Park and Apple Campus

The Visitor Center

The Apple Park Visitor Center is what you’d expect; a glorified Apple Store with a few unique products, an AR tour, a cafe, and an observation deck. It’s an interesting place to visit filled with passionate staff, but if you’re hoping to see something unique (other than the architecture and the AR tour), then you’re out of luck. But, anyway, take a look at some of the photos I took while we were there.

can i visit the apple park

Visiting Apple Campus

Once we finished looking around at the Apple Park Visitor Center, we jumped back into our Silvercar and headed to Apple Campus. The original campus isn’t far from the newer Apple Park, being just 2.5 miles away on One Infinite Loop.

can i visit the apple park

Things are a little less organized at Apple Campus than at Apple Park. Sings are a bit lacking, so we needed to look around to figure out where to park. For what it’s worth, the visitor parking appears to be in the open lot immediately to the right when you drive in.

Visiting the Apple Park and Apple Campus

Once you park, you’ll find an Apple Store right across from the parking lot. This store has a few Campus-exclusive items, though it’s a lot smaller (and emptier) than Apple Campus. Of course, you can walk around and take a look at the exterior of the building too.

Visiting the Apple Park and Apple Campus

Visiting the Apple Park and Apple Campus, Final Thoughts

Honestly, there isn’t a whole lot to see at Apple Park or Apple Campus. As a result, this is a stop to make only if you’re a serious Apple fan or want to appreciate the unique architecture of the Apple Park Visitor Center. Seriously, you’d get a better view of Apple Park by walking around it or flying your drone over it. Too bad I couldn’t find a suitable place to launch my drone since we were pressed for time.

Everything you need to know about Apple Park

Apple's visitor center is open to the public at last.

Jenny McGrath

Apple Park may conjure images of picking a Golden Delicious on a crisp, fall day, but it’s actually the iPhone maker’s new spaceship-like campus. The company’s September 12 event was held in the new Steve Jobs theater  situated in a grove on a hillside overlooking the campus, and reporters were able to glimpse the giant donut employees have been moving into  since April 2017. Although the building is filling up, construction isn’t slated to be fully completed until the end of this year. Curious what’s going on in Cupertino? Here’s everything you need to know about Apple Park.

Can I visit?

Apple Park Visitors Center

On the morning of Friday, November 17, Apple opened the doors of its North Tantau Avenue Visitor Center to the public, as announced by the Cupertino Company. Visitors can peruse special hats and t-shirts at the interior retail location. With its exclusive merchandise, the shop holds a cache akin to the remotest Hard Rock Café attire. 9to5Mac lists onesies, tote bags, postcards, and memory cards that are also available for purchase.

You can also buy an iPhone X or other iPhone, iPads, Apple Watches, and other devices from Apple’s “full range of products.”

  • Apple iOS 15: News, features, and everything you need to know
  • Apple iPadOS 15: Everything you need to know
  • Ring Always Home Cam: Everything you need to know about the flying indoor camera

A cafe serves coffee and other refreshments, which you can enjoy in the center’s outdoor or indoor seating. Or you can take your meal to the rooftop terrace, where you’ll have the best view of Apple Park’s main building. Perhaps the cafe will bring in those crazy pizza boxes  that keep your slice from getting soggy.

A 3D model of the campus combines with augmented reality to teach you all about Apple Park. Go ahead and take the whole installation apart if you’d like. “Visitors can learn about the world’s largest naturally ventilated building and view one of the largest on-site solar energy installations in the world,” Apple said in its release. “Visitors can also choose to lift the entire roof off the building to peek inside to the collaborative office pod layout.”

Spaceship campus?

A bit like a cross between a doughnut and a UFO, Apple Park earned its “spaceship campus” nickname due to its straight-out-of-sci-fi design. Construction started in late 2013, and the final outcome remained pretty faithful to early renderings . A time-lapse video from satellite footage shows years of building in just seconds.

Steve Jobs himself dreamed up the idea for the campus, designed by Nathan Foster and his team at Foster + Partners. Before his death in 2011, Jobs was very involved in the process.

“He knew exactly what timber he wanted, but not just ‘I like oak’ or ‘I like maple,’” project lead Stefan Behling told Wired. “He knew it had to be quarter-cut. It had to be cut in the winter, ideally in January, to have the least amount of sap and sugar content.”

How big is it?

Sitting on 175 acres, the headquarters at 1 Apple Park Way has room for more than 12,000 employees. The main ring building is 2.8 million square feet of curved glass. The Steve Jobs Theater has seating for 1,000 and is a smaller, 165-foot cylinder, with 20-foot-tall glass walls and a carbon-fiber roof. Like the Apple Store in New York – a glass box sitting at ground level, with the store itself buried beneath it – the Theater is a glass cake jar at ground level with stairs descending to the theater itself, which is buried in the hillside. A pair of elevators sit beside the staircases, themselves a perfect example of the Apple way: Rather than having doors on both sides, the elevator is elaborately architected to rotate as it descends. It looks beautiful, yet must have been monstrously complex to build.

Additionally, there’s a 100,000-square-foot Fitness and Wellness Center, complete with yoga and a dental practice. Research and development will take place in a separate facility you can see in this video . Above-and-below-ground parking has space for 8,600 vehicles and stretches several stories underground.

How much did it cost?

The land alone is estimated to have a price tag of $160 million.

Originally, the Apple Campus 2, as it was originally called, was supposed to cost $3 billion and be finished in 2015. The land alone is estimated to have a price tag of $160 million, and by 2013, the budget was $5 billion , to the chagrin of some investors. Though Foster + Partners were looking to reduce costs at the time, it’s unclear what the final cost will be when all is said and done. But with estimates like $161 million for the theater, $74 million for the fitness center, and $25 million for a tunnel, it’s no wonder it might cost as much as Richard Branson’s net worth .

Are there any cool features?

If tons of curved glass isn’t enough for you, how about a breathing building? The ring has heating and cooling systems but should stay between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit most days. Ventilation and circulation move air in and out, and tubes of water in the concrete floor and ceilings help keep a lid on extreme temperatures.

“The flaps and the opening mechanism all have to relate to sensors that measure where the wind is coming from and how the air goes through it,” Behling said.

Sloping glass protrudes at every floor to provide shade and keep rain off the clear walls.

All that glass is supposed to make workers feel one with nature and see what’s happening outside as people run on the two miles of trails or grab one of the 1,000 bikes to traverse between buildings. There is an orchard (though we’re not sure whether it has apples), as well as a pond and meadow. Should things get rough and tumble, as in an earthquake, the main building’s steel base should allow it to move nearly five feet and still keep the lights on, Apple Chief Design Officer Jonathan Ive told Wired. The curved walls are panels of safety glass, also important for earthquake-prone regions.

The campus has so many amenities, it’s almost like they don’t want you leave.

“Apple Park has been built to reflect Apple’s values for both technology and the environment,” CEO Tim Cook said at the September 12 event. “It connects extraordinarily advanced buildings with a rolling park land to form an open and inspiring environment for our teams to create and collaborate.”

There are more than 9,000 trees on the 175 acres, all species able to survive in drought conditions. The ring runs on 100 percent renewable energy, powered by what Cook calls one of the world’s largest on-site solar installations. Jobs was supposedly inspired by Stanford’s quad, so perhaps one day there will be employees playing ultimate frisbee in the courtyard.

The ring has nine entrances and a 4,000-person capacity cafe. Massive four-story doors can open to temperate weather. For those who don’t brown bag it, the kitchens are equipped to serve 15,000 lunches .

Does everyone love it?

Apple-fiends may call it the spaceship, but Sunnyvale residents call one of the fitness center’s brick facade “ the prison wall .” They’re about to trade constant construction noise for thousands of commuters, including those expected to avoid traffic by driving through their neighborhoods, residents complain. Apple said it will give money to Sunnyvale for traffic monitoring and the Valley Transportation Authority to ease congestion on freeways.

The campus has so many amenities, it’s almost like they don’t want you leave. While it seems like Apple thought of everything — food, fitness, feng shui — there’s one big “f” missing: family. In the whole campus, there’s no daycare facility. Meanwhile, John Gruber of Daring Fireball said he’d gotten complaints about the open floorplan from some workers who weren’t excited to move into the new digs.

Shortly after Apple’s announcement yesterday that it will be adding lossless music streaming to Apple Music, Twitter was awash with hot takes, mainly in the form of jeers. “Does anyone care about lossless audio files except for the guy I dated in 2008 who made me a CD of FLAC files,” asked Wired senior writer Lauren Goode.

Goode makes a, ahem, good point: Just how big of a deal is lossless audio anyway? The answer is -- for the vast majority of folks, who happily listen to Spotify or Apple Music on an inexpensive set of wired or wireless earbuds -- not a very big deal at all. In fact, these people probably wouldn’t hear much of a difference even if their headphones could let them hear lossless audio, and the fact is, most wireless headphones simply can’t.

Apple's latest and greatest iPad Pro is getting a feature that's only recently made its way into televisions and is already transforming that industry. Along with a new iMac, Apple TV 4K, and Air Tags announced at the Apple Spring Loaded event on April 20, 2021, the company debuted a new 12.9-inch version of its iPad Pro which comes with a new Liquid Retina XDR display powered by mini-LED technology. Here's what that means and how it will improve the iPad experience.

Backlight Basics To better understand mini-LED backlighting tech, it helps to know how LCD-based screens like those used in phones and tablets have historically worked. Unlike OLED screens which have individual pixels that generate their own light (called an emissive display), LCD screens need a light source.

The Apple Watch is considered to be the best smartwatch out there, and for good reason. It offers excellent fitness tracking and a sleek and stylish design, and it integrates perfectly into the rest of Apple's ecosystem.

But with so many excellent features available to you, it's highly unlikely you know everything there is to know about the Apple Watch. That's why we put together this guide. Here are seven things you probably didn't know your Apple Watch could do. Use your Apple Watch as a viewfinder

Apple Park: Everything you need to know!

Apple Park

Apple Park officially opened in April 2017 and has served as the headquarters of Apple, Inc. since then. The campus, often called the "spaceship" thanks to its circular main building, houses thousands of Apple employees and incorporates renewable energy and green space to make a truly unique corporate space.

Here's everything that you need to know about Apple Park.

May 30, 2018: Apple continues facilities expansion with new Santa Clara office

Apple has reportedly leased 62,000-sq. ft. of office space in Santa Clara, continuing its expansion into the Bay Area. From The Mercury News :

Apple has planted a new outpost in Santa Clara, leasing a four-decade-old industrial building where the tech titan has launched a wide-ranging renovation, public records show.Cupertino-based Apple leased a 62,000-square-foot building near the corner of Bowers and Walsh avenues, according to an official filing by the property owner with the Santa Clara County Recorder's Office.

Extensive construction was apparently taking place at this new facility earlier this month, though what that means for Apple, we don't know.

May 29, 2018: Apple reportedly signs deal with VW for driverless Apple Park shuttles

Apple has reportedly signed a deal with Volkswagen to bring several of the automaker's T6 transport vans to Apple Park, which would be paired with Apple's proprietary driverless vehicle software.

From The New York Times :

Instead, Apple has signed a deal with Volkswagen to turn some of the carmaker's new T6 Transporter vans into Apple's self-driving shuttles for employees — a project that is behind schedule and consuming nearly all of the Apple car team's attention, said three people familiar with the project.

Apple is said to have previously approached BMW and Mercedes-Benz to work on this project, with both companies turning it down due to Apple's data requirements.

What is Apple Park?

Previously known as Apple Campus 2, Apple Park is also known by another unofficial nickname: the spaceship. The new campus serves as the primary headquarters of Apple, Inc, replacing 1 Infinite Loop, which is officially known as Apple Campus.

The distinctive circular design of the complex's main building sets it apart from other tech headquarters, as well as other buildings in the area. Where the campus at 1 Infinite Loop was laid out like a university, Apple Park takes a more modern approach to its design. Precisely engineered curved glass panels are placed around the circumference of the building, with the levels of glass separated by massive, hollow concrete slabs that do the same.

Where is Apple Park located?

Apple Park, like 1 Infinite Loop, is in Cupertino, California at 1 Apple Park Way. It sits on 175 acres, much of which has been devoted to green space. The new campus is just about a 10-minute drive away from Apple Campus.

Has the company abandoned 1 Infinite Loop?

Nope. Apple is large enough that it needs the space that both complexes provide, so the original Apple Campus is used as office and laboratory space.

When did work on Apple Park begin?

Steve Jobs, late Apple co-founder and former CEO, and Apple design chief Jony Ive began work on the design for Apple Park, then called Campus 2, in 2006, with Ive working closely with architect Norman Foster. Jobs himself presented architectural details to the Cupertino City Council in 2011. Demolition of the land began in late 2013.

The groundbreaking was originally slated to begin in 2013 for an opening in 2015, but delays meant that construction didn't start until 2014. Apple Park officially opened for business in April 2017, with teams continuing to move into the building throughout the rest of the year.

How much did Apple Park cost to build?

Apple Park cost around $5 billion, though it was originally estimated that it would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 million. This jumped up to $3 billion in 2011, before landing on the final figure at some point in 2013.

What sort of facilities does Apple Park have?

The first and most notable facility on Apple Park is a massive circular main building. The massive building has a diameter of 1,512 ft. and a circumference of about one mile.

Another, smaller circular structure, the Steve Jobs Theater. It's composed of a circular lobby section, with the actual 1,000-seat theater being located underground.

Apple Park also hosts a 100,000 sq. ft. wellness center, which can be used by up to 20,000 employees from around Cupertino.

For members of the public that wish to visit the campus, there's the Visitor Center, a glass structure housing an Apple Store, featuring unique Apple merchandise, as well as educational areas that utilize technology like augmented reality presentations to educate visitors about the campus and the company.

Does Apple Park utilize renewable energy?

In recent years, Apple has made strides to use renewable energy across the company, and Apple Park is no exception. The roof of the circular main building is covered in solar panels, which generate 17 megawatts of power, with another four megawatts provided by biogas and fuels cells. Apple says that Apple Park also contributes some clean energy back to the Cupertino power grid during times of low occupancy.

Is it true that Apple Park breathes?

Apple Park's primary building is naturally ventilated, meaning that it doesn't utilize a traditional heating and cooling system. Chilled water tubing runs throughout massive concrete structures built into Apple Park, with the structures taking in outside air, chilling it with the water-filled tubing. This uses a much smaller amount of energy compared to traditional systems.

You mentioned something about green space?

Apple Park sits on 175 acres, about 80% of which remains as green space. Apple has planted drought-resistant trees in this space. The central courtyard in the middle of the main building features an apple orchard, as well as orchards for apricots and olives. The courtyard also features a large pond.

Inside Apple Park, the Cupertino home base for employees

  • Apple Park's massive, $5 billion headquarters is located in Cupertino, California.
  • The campus includes the famous ring-shaped main building, a fitness center, a theater, and more.
  • Besides a visitor center and gift shop, Apple Park is closed to the public.

Insider Today

Here's a look inside Apple Park, the company's massive, futuristic headquarters that opened in 2018 and cost $5 billion to build.

Apple Park is located in Cupertino, California, a short distance from the original Apple headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop.

The main building is a giant, multistory circle, colloquially known as "the ring" or " the spaceship ."

The cost of building Apple Park

The tech giant reportedly spent $5 billion on Apple Park construction . The ring is a stunning feat of design that blurs the indoor space with the environment outside, which has been landscaped with fruit trees (including apple trees, of course) and other native plants.

The building features incredible four-story curved glass windows, solar panels on the roof, and natural ventilation that reduces the need for heat/air conditioning.

The campus is also specially engineered to withstand earthquakes — its foundation sits on hundreds of movable steel saucers rather than being actually attached to the Earth, a design called "base isolation" technology.

Is it possible to visit Apple Park?

Apple Park is typically accessible only to employees, save for two areas: a visitor center at 10600 N Tantau Ave., and the Steve Jobs Theater, where Apple events are held to announce new products.

Related stories

The Steve Jobs Theater is named for the company's legendary co-founder Steve Jobs and can accommodate up to 1,000 people.

The visitor center is the only place the public is allowed on the campus without a pass, and it's free to enter. You can buy exclusive Apple merch there. There are Apple Park T-shirts and other accessories you can't get anywhere else.

The visitors center is an Apple store, but there's a lot to do there, including an AR experience, exclusive merchandise, and a cafe. Don't miss the Apple Park augmented reality experience, which lets you peek into the campus through an iPad. There is no Genius Bar or repairs available at the Apple Park visitor's center, though.

If you need a pick-me-up, there's a cafe in the visitor's center with snacks and coffee. On a weekday morning, you might see Apple employees taking meetings in the sunny cafe, the WiFi is fast and reliable, and the menu is on an iPad.

It's easy to miss the upstairs roof deck, but it's the highlight of the visitor's center. Look for the Jony Ive-designed stairs. Once you're on the roof, you get the closest view of Apple Park available to the public.

What is the capacity of Apple Park?

Apple Park features nearly 3 million square feet of office space and can accommodate about 12,000 Apple employees. That's a bit less than half of Apple's Bay Area workforce.

Who would get to work at Apple Park was a point of contention among the company's local employees. Executives, including Apple CEO Tim Cook and chief design officer Jony Ive, moved to the new campus, as well as software development teams and design teams.

Is Apple Park bigger than the Pentagon?

An interesting rumor emerged after the plan to build Apple Park was originally announced in 2011: Apple Park would be bigger than the Pentagon, the headquarters of the US military in Arlington, Virginia.

However, at 2.8 million square feet, it's significantly smaller than the Pentagon, which measures 6.5 million square feet.

The largest Apple product ever made is not something you'll be able to take home to enjoy, but it is something to behold. Apple Park is the company's second campus built in Cupertino, California, and it was one of the final products pitched by the late CEO, Steve Jobs. The massive ring-shaped building is now an iconic symbol of Apple's dedication to design, green energy, and the future of technology.

Apple calls Cupertino, California home, and its main headquarters had been located at 1 Infinite Loop since 1993. In 2017, the company finished construction and officially moved its employees into the massive "spaceship" campus, called The Ring, located at One Apple Park Way.

The campus is surrounded by grass and trees, has an orchard in the center of the ring, and contains energy and design innovations throughout. Apple Park is the beacon of creativity and unity meant to drive Apple into the future.

Life at Apple's new campus was short-lived, however, since the COVID-19 pandemic drove most employees to work from home. Despite being able to hold thousands of employees, only a tiny fraction were able to work on-site from March 2020.

After multiple delays due to the pandemic, Apple was finally able to begin bringing employees back to its campus in April 2022. The move back was slow and highly contested by several employees who wished to work from home, but Apple won out in the end.

Early Development and Construction

The late CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs  saw the rapid growth of the company and knew its current campus couldn't last. So, Apple purchased land formerly owned by Hewlett-Packard, a company important to Jobs' history as he worked there as a summer intern.

Steve Jobs personally presented an ambitious plan to the Cupertino City Council for building one of the largest office buildings in the world.

Apple met many of its initial goals within its first presentation of the campus, although it took two years longer and went well over cost estimates . Sadly, Steve Jobs died only a few months after that meeting, and it is known as one of his last public appearances. The campus theater is named after him in remembrance.

In 2014, Apple began the initial tear-down of the old Hewlett-Packard buildings and broke ground. The project took a little over three years to get finalized and ready for the employee move-in.

Throughout the construction process, Apple faced several challenges from buying up all the available trees to city taxes coming into question.

Final Design and Jony Ive

Jony Ive’s attention to detail is felt through the campus

Jony Ive was the Chief Design Officer at Apple, and he has since left the company to start his own design firm. While Apple Park was under construction, Ive stepped away from leading the product design team to take a more personal interest in the construction and design of the new campus.

Ive worked closely with the design firm Foster+Partners on this massive undertaking. His design influences are seen throughout the campus, and he speaks of Apple Park in this interview  with Wallpaper* magazine.

"As a design team our goal has been, in some ways, to get design out of the way," Ive said. "We try to define a solution that seems so inevitable that it does recede." He stated this referring to the philosophy that is behind everything Apple designs.

Even the stairs received such scrutiny. "There are so many connections between floors," he continued. "There are light wells that go all the way down. You have visual connections to the floors and connections by the stairs."

Not even the stairs could escape Jony Ive’s influence

When discussing the building's flexibility, Ive states, "Our building is very configurable and you can very quickly create large open spaces or you can configure lots of smaller private offices. The building will change and it will evolve."

The idea that the building could change as Apple changes was the driving factor behind much of the design.

Shaped like a large flying saucer of sorts, Apple calls the main campus building The Ring. This massive building features 800 45-foot-tall rounded glass panels that connect all the way around the four-story structure. Some of these panels function as large sliding doors, allowing for the interior to be exposed to the outdoors during nice weather.

The main building is called 'The Ring'

The Ring uses  base isolation to protect against earthquakes. The isolation system consists of 692 large steel saucers located two stories underground. This system is a modified version of Japan's and will protect the campus from all but the most severe earthquakes.

The Ring's interior hosts large rooms with glass walls and entryways, including wide-open spaces that can be collapsed into smaller sections as needed. The Ring is divided into eight identical segments and surrounded by a hallway roughly three-quarters of a mile around.

The wide, brightly lit hallway runs around The Ring

The Ring uses natural ventilation to aid in making it the greenest office building in the world, requiring no heating or cooling for nine months out of the year. To further its green initiatives, Apple partnered with First Solar  to provide 130MW of clean energy to the campus and surrounding buildings.

Design rules the campus from top to bottom and will influence the company moving forward. Many consider Apple Park to be an Apple product designed by Jony Ive, his crown jewel before exiting the company and gift to his departed friend Steve Jobs.

Other structures at Apple Park

  • Steve Jobs Theater

The Steve Jobs Theater is a 165-foot diameter circular glass building without visible supports. The carbon-fiber roof is the largest in the world, weighing 80 tons. Underneath the glass structure, underground, is an auditorium seating 1,000 people. The theater won the  'Structural Artistry'  award in 2018.

Steve Jobs Theater overlooks Apple Park

Apple intended the theater for product reveals and events, but that intention was short-lived due to the pandemic. With the company moving to a more online event style, it seems the theater will be used for pre-recorded event showings rather than a live stage.

  • Visitors' Center

The Apple Park  Visitor Center  overlooks the campus and is divided into four sections: a 10,000-square-foot Apple Store, a 2,000-square-foot cafe, an observation deck, and an area for an AR experience. The augmented reality area is a scale model of Apple Park that lets you view the campus via an iPad using AR software.

The Apple Park Visitor's Center doubles as an Apple Store

This is the only publicly accessible area of Apple Park. Apple sells limited-edition t-shirts and other merchandise at this store.

  • Glendenning Barn

The Glendenning Barn is a historical landmark moved and restored by Apple during Apple Park's construction. It was originally a part of the farmland that housed apricot, prune, and cherry orchards.

It is now used for simply storing groundskeeping tools but still stands as a symbol of community and innovation at Apple Park.

Virtual Keynotes

The Apple Park campus was meant to be the ultimate workspace for its thousands of employees. It was also meant to be a marvel that visitors could enjoy when conducting work or traveling for keynotes. The COVID-19 pandemic made this impossible for months, but Apple made due.

Apple Park viewed in Apple Maps

Starting with WWDC 2020, Apple held virtual conferences instead of inviting thousands of people to its campus. This allowed the company to expand its reach to more developers and consumers with highly-produced videos rather than a stage performance.

Apple invited people to participate in an in-person WWDC event in June 2022. A pre-recorded keynote was shown to viewers outdoors via a projector set up outside the cafeteria, then developers were able to interact with employees and visit the newly opened Developer Center.

This mixed in-person and online style will likely be used for events going forward. They give Apple greater control over product presentation while keeping the campus open for events.

The iPhone 14 lineup was revealed at an in-person Apple event held in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in September 2022. A pre-recorded keynote was shown, but products were viewable in person in a display area afterward.

The Apple Park Visitor Center

I am sure we agree that you know who Apple is, the guys behind the Macs, iPhones, iPads and much more. Apple’s new headquarter in Cupertino opened April 2017 to employees. The circular design and sheer size earned it the name “Spaceship” or “UFO”.

Access to the Apple Park is only granted to employees and some occasionally to the press while holding product launches at the Steve Jobs Theater.

If you wish to visit the Apple Park or at least get a glance of it from the outside, your best bet is the Apple Park Visitor Center. The visitor center is located across the street of the “spaceship”.

The easiest way to get here is by car. Plenty of parking is available behind the visitor center and in the underground parking garage. Charging stations for electric vehicles are also available in the parking lot.

Admission is free and the visitor center is split into 4 sections:

Apple Store

Exhibition area, roof terrace.

can i visit the apple park

Of course, you can shop for your favorite Apple products here. No matter if it’s an iPad, Mac or just some accessories. Besides the regular products which can be found as well in other Apple Stores, there are exclusive Apple- and Apple Park–branded merchandise articles. They are only available here. This exclusive merchandise is a bit pricey but did we expect anything else from Apple?

Besides shopping, sign up for one of the “ Today at Apple ” sessions. Sessions range from sketching with the Apple Pen, to Photography, Coding and creating music with Garage Band.

Here you can find a model of the Apple Park and its surrounding area. When you first look at the model, it looks like the forgot something and they did. There is no texture on the buildings and everything is just in plain white color.

However, once you get one of the available iPads near the model, you can launch an immersive AR experience. Hold the iPad over parts of the model and you get a better look at the whole building. Pretty impressive. Be aware that you might be in line for a while if you want to try the AR experience.

Sit down and unwind over a cup of coffee or one of the many other refreshments offered here. Sit either inside or enjoy a bit of nature outside in the olive grove. I consider the prices here for decent. Fast Wi-Fi is available as well in the café and throughout the visitor center.

can i visit the apple park

The highlight is probably the roof terrace. It’s open design lets you enjoy the beautiful and sunny California days and you get a glimpse of Apple Park. The views are not very good, as big trees block the view and you get to see only a small part of the $5 billion Dollar building. Because of that, it is hard to get a real feeling for the sheer size of the whole “spaceship”.

Plenty of chairs and tables are available upstairs to sit down and relax.

can i visit the apple park

Furthermore…

Besides the areas mentioned above, don’t expect to see any historic devices like the first ever iPod or iPhone. Neither is there any information about the construction of the Apple Park or any of its features. Neither are there any tours available of the Apple Park itself.

The visitor center seems to be very busy, especially on weekends. During weekdays, you might catch the one or other Apple employee in the Café.

If you still can’t get enough of Apple. Don’t constrain your visit just to the visitor center. Walk down on North Tantau Avenue. You get to see the entrances to the “spaceship” and the tall berms planted with trees and scrubs to hinder you from getting a glimpse of what’s going on inside.

Even More Apple…

Still not satisfied? Check out these two locations below. A must for a true Apple Fan.

Apple Flagship Store Union Square

Apple’s Flagship Store on Union Square in Downtown San Francisco is about a 50-mile drive north from the Apple Park Visitor Center. Parking nearby can be very hard to find, especially during the week and also super expensive in the Downtown area. Best way to visit is to park your car at the BART station in Millbrae near the San Francisco International Airport and take the train to Powel Street Station. From there it’s just a short walk to the Apple Store at Union Square.

Apple Tech Fan? Visit The Apple Visitor Center In Silicon Valley

Apple has a visitor center for those who would like to come and visit them - enjoy a coffee at Apple Park.

Read update

What To Expect When At The Apple Park Visitor Center

Everyone knows about Silicon Valley and how so many of the world's tech giants are there, but it's not really a tourist destination - or is it? There is plenty of big, futuristic, and flashy tech headquarters there - although most are not open to the public (other than being able to wander around the massive campuses). Apple is one of the tech giants that has actually included a visitor center in their headquarters campus so that fans can visit.

For a very different attraction while in San Jose, consider visiting the Winchester Mystery House - an extremely massive and odd building built for the ghosts of those killed by Winchester rifles. After that, head up to San Francisco and see the best of the newest restaurants in the iconic city.

UPDATE: 2023/04/30 14:05 EST BY AARON SPRAY

Anyone can visit the Apple Park Visitor Center (although there are no tours of the campus). Tech nerds and Apple fans should consider a pilgrimage to Apple Park - the headquarters of Apple. This article was updated and expanded with what to expect when visiting the Apple Park Visitor Center (and buying a new iPhone and enjoy a cup of coffee while there).

Apple's Headquarters - Apple Park

Apple's headquarters is called Apple Park and it comes complete with a visitor center.

Apple Park Headquarters:

  • Opened: To Employees In April 2017
  • Location: Cupertino, California
  • Site Size: 1.46 km2 (360 acres)
  • Employees: Over 12,000 Employes (In The Groundscraper)

The main building of Apple Park is a massive circular groundscraper and has been nicknamed "the spaceship." The design of the Apple Park was influenced by Steve Jobs who wanted the campus to look less like more like a nature refuge than a typical business park.

  • 80%: 80% of Apple Park is Green Space
  • Main Building: A Massive Circular Groundscraper
  • Visiting: The Apple Park Visitor Center is the Only Part Open To The Public

To that end, 80% of the site is made up of green space that has been planted out with drought-resistant trees and plants indigenous to the Cupertino area of California. In the center courtyard of the main building is an artificial pond.

The Apple Park Visitor Center

The Apple Park Visitor Center comes with four main areas, an Apple Store, an exhibition space, a roof terrace, and a large cafe. The Apple Store offers Apple-branded merchandise not available at normal Apple stores (like T-shirts, hats, tote bags, postcards). The exhibition space showcases a 3D model of Apple Park with augmented reality.

  • Parts Of The Visitor Center: An Apple Store, Exhibition Space, A Large Cafe, A Roof Terrace

This visitor center is the only part of Apple Park that tourists are permitted to visit. So while one can't just stroll around and have a poke around Apple's headquarters, at least they have created a special place just for visitors.

The Visitor Center is an architectural extension of the private campus where visitors can learn, explore, shop, and more. The intention here is to showcase the innovative design principles of Apple Park. One will see how they seek to stay at the cutting edge of technology and how they plan to go carbon-neutral across their entire business by 2030.

After relaxing with a coffee (either indoors or outdoors), head up to the Roof Terrace where one can enjoy a unique view of Apple Park and its rolling landscape.

Some of their services may be limited due to the current pandemic, if one is planning to visit, consider checking their website to see the current situation.

  • Hours: Opens at 10:00 a.m. closes at 6.00 p.m.
  • Days Open: Open Daily
  • Address: 10600 North Tantau Avenue, Cupertino, CA

After visiting the Apple Park Visitor Center, take the time to see the other giant in town - Google's Googleplex and enjoy a visit of the headquarters .

What To Expect Visiting The Apple Park Visitor Center

While there don't seem to be any guided tours around the Apple Headquarters, but the Visitor Center is a great place for shopping. It is a great place for Apple fans to appease their inner tech geek. Visitors note the modern architecture - including the modern minimalism of the Visitor Center.

The Apple Park Visitor Center is much more of an Apple Store than it is an Apple Museum or exhibition. It is worth a visit for those who want to experience Apple's newest products. The staff are also very helpful and friendly and will explain everything anyone wants to know about Apple's products.

The Apple Park Visitor Center is a place where visitors can have a more practical visit - like upgrading their iPhones.

In terms of merchandise, the Visitor Center also sells exclusive t-shirts of Apple Park. The price of coffee and things from the cafe is also reasonable - the prices are comparable to the prices of Starbucks in the area. Maybe being an "Apple" coffee will make the coffee somehow taste better too.

One Company of Many In The Silicon Valley

There are plenty more headquarters to visit while in Silicon Valley. One can visit Google's campus for example (but visitors can't enter the buildings there). Some of the other iconic brands may also have visitor centers or even tours.

Silicon Valley is a general term for the region in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area that's a global center for high technology and innovation (even if Tesla did move to Texas). Silicon Valley more or less corresponds to the geographical Santa Clara Valley and San Jose in particular.

  • Location: More or Less Geographical Santa Clara Valley
  • Main City: San Jose
  • Startup Companies: There Are Thousands Of Startup Companies Based There

Other cities that Silicon Valley includes are Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Redwood City, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Cupertino.

The area is home to thousands of startup companies and has around a third of all the venture capital investments in the country. Technologies developed there include the microcomputer, the silicon-based integrated circuit, and the microprocessor.

Some of the most notable companies to be based in Silicon Valley are Adobe Inc, Google, Apple, eBay, HP Inc., Lockheed Martin Space, Netflix, PayPal, Twitter, and many others.

So if one is interested in emerging technologies and one of the USA's greatest technological success stories, consider popping into Silicon Valley. See where many of tomorrow's technologies are born. See Silicon Valley on the same day as visiting the iconic Golden Gate Bridge .

Apple Is The Largest Company In The World

Many people love Apple and many people hate Apple. But almost everyone has an opinion about the innovative (if not expensive) tech company. It is grown from "some fruit company" as Forrest Gump put to the largest company in the world today (it was never actually a "fruit company")

According to companiesmarketcap.com , as of the time of writing (October 2022), Apple was the most valuable company in the world priced at $2.2 trillion (about the GDP of Canada and more than the GDP of Italy as per the IMF ).

  • Value: $2.2 Trillion (October 2022)
  • Rank: 1st (October 2022)

The story of Apple is a fascinating one, and together with the other tech giants and lesser-known giant companies has helped make Silicon Valley into the world's premier center of technological innovation that it is today.

Honestly in the downtown part of L.A. there's not a lot of pretty stuff around. It certainly isn't the glamorous part of the city to be sure. Gloria Molina Grand Park is one of the nicer things going on around it. A lot to do such as concerts. This is also a good place for doing nothing or just for hanging. A not so quiet park because it's surrounded by buildings of course. It's a pretty big spacious area though and convenient to get to from anywhere in downtown. The park is divided into sections between 1st Street and Temple. Much of the green space is on the western end. There's a few other things over there like a concert stage and a fountain. Maybe the grass isn't the greenest but it beats concrete. This is also where to access the Metro station. A few homeless like to hang out here. There's not a crap ton but there's some that are on the benches like any park. Best thing about it is there's space in an urban area. It's not the best looking park but it's still mostly okay. There's concerts and other fun things.

The Dias De Los Muertos spirits were generous tonight! I was fortunate enough to procure three tickets for the "Centerpiece Gala; Macario" event to watch a movie many consider a masterpiece of the Mexican Cinema. I checked my maps, drove and parked my carriage at the Union Station parking lot. I wanted to experience something "spooky" so I and took the subway (Metro) to Gloria Molina Grand Park. Under a canopy of twinkling stars and city lights, "Macario" was projected to a giant wall on the side of an 8-story building. Macario takes place around the time of the "Day of the Dead" season during the 19th century and stars a peasant named, Macario, who is incessantly hungry because he sacrifices his share of the food so that his wife and children can eat a little bit more. The movie is about Macario's quick rise and fall and the hard lessons to be learned during the journey. The movie projector worked flawlessly, and the sound on the headphones matched perfectly to the voices on the screen. Before the movie, guests were treated to delicious Tortas Ahogadas by Chago, Champurrado, pan dulce and a panel discussion about the historical significance of the movie. Gloria Molina Grand Park was the perfect place to show and watch Macario.

Very nice view and ambience. Not so crowded and right near city hall. Unfortunately, it was crowded this day.

Gloria Molina Grand Park is a calming green space that connects City Hall to Grand Ave. During sunny and cool days, it feels nice and relaxing to take a stroll on the pathway when coming from Grand Ave. During this spring April day, there were a few cherry trees by the Flag Garden. I wish Los Angeles had more urban green spaces to gather and relax. I automatically think Pershing Square, and in contrast, Gloria Molina Grand Park is immensely more appealing.

I love it here, so much! The architecture in all regards is magnificent. The fountains at night are so beautiful and peaceful. I love coming here with food and just sitting and eating and people watching and listening to the fountains and watching them do their thing :D Truly one of the masterpieces in DTLA. I appreciate this space and enjoy it tremendously. A true treasure :D

This is a beautiful park in Downtown Los Angeles that stretches 4 blocks from Grand Ave over to Spring St. Most of the time, this park is well maintained throughout the year. I'm usually only at the end with the Arthur J Will Memorial Fountain where I'll grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks before heading over to the Ahmanson Theatre for a musical.

Recently visited Grand Park for their Sunday Sessions: AfroPunk experience on 7/23/23. It was an afternoon of various djs and artists, families on picnic blankets and low back chairs dancing & vibing out to the smooth grooves. There were two food trucks with food available for purchase along with a Ciroc bar activation. The Sunday Sessions experience has a few more music experiences listed for Summer 2023, so check them out. Paid Parking is available nearby in lots along with meters along Hill Street.

I attended the Seltzer Land event at Grand Park recently, and I had a great time. The park was clean with ample space and lush green grass. Despite the large crowd and DJ, the event was well-organized. We parked just 10 minutes away for $10, and it was convenient. I would definitely recommend Grand Park and look forward to visiting again.

It's a great park to come hang out and have lunch or when there are events to visit. There are plenty of areas to sit, can't miss them look for the pink chairs and benches. If you're thirsty there is a Starbucks by the fountain also a BofA atm if you need cash for the coffee. People like to play in the fountain enter at your own risk it's recycled water. Just saying. Watch out for transients and parking garages are nearby for 10 dollars. I had a grand time when visiting this park.

I'm fascinated at how little foot traffic comes through this grand concourse from City Hall to the LA Music Center. When I think of similar promenades in major European cities, I think about all the people who happily congregate in parks designed just like this one. But not here. LA is a car town where people walk only when forced to and probably not downtown. Frankly the majority of people who appreciate the pedestrian friendliness was the homeless with their shopping carts. They generally kept to themselves, but it seemed a bit of a shame that families weren't taking more advantage of the movable pink furniture, the elaborate play areas, or the interactive water fountains. Honestly it was quite a pristine sight, but it probably says something that I've been coming to LA for decades and that this was my first time walking through it. I've certainly seen it buzzing by in a car like everyone else, but now I know better. Besides I always need the steps. RELATED - Exploring LA? Where was ‘anyone but you’ filmed all the stunning locations from the rom-com.

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell in "Anyone But You."

Anyone But You finally made its Netflix streaming debut, which is exciting news for rom-com fans everywhere. As you watch the movie, you might be wondering where Anyone But You was filmed and if you can visit the breathtaking beaches, cliffs, and other locations in real life.

Loosely adapted from Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” Anyone But You stars Glen Powell as Ben, a finance bro who has an incredible first date with Bea (Sydney Sweeney), a law student uncertain about her career. After spending the night, Bea panics and leaves without telling him. When she realizes she made a mistake and returns to his apartment, she overhears Ben saying that she is a “nothing” to him.

Years later, they unexpectedly reunite at a destination wedding in Australia for Bea’s sister, who is marrying Ben’s friend. When their exes show up, they pretend to be a couple—and the rest is history. The film was directed and co-written by Will Gluck, the filmmaker behind rom-coms like Easy A and Friends with Benefits . It was released in December and had an impressive run at the box office, surpassing $88 million domestically and $219 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo .

After its release, the movie went viral on TikTok as audience goers reacted to the film’s credit sequence, which features the cast dancing and singing to Natasha Bedingfield’s nostalgic 2004 hit “Unwritten,” a song highlighted throughout the film. There were also rumors of an off-screen romance between Powell and Sweeney that helped promote the film, as well as the actors’ flirty publicity tour and Sydney Sweeney’s SNL monologue .

Now, Anyone But You is back in the limelight after the film was released on Netflix on April 23, quickly becoming the No. 1 movie on the platform in the U.S. after just one day.

Google Issues ‘Critical’ Chrome Update For All Windows Users

New ios 18 ai security move changes the game for all iphone users, world war i tactics make a comeback as a ukrainian gunner in the back of a propeller plane shoots down a russian drone, where was anyone but you filmed.

Anyone But You was filmed in parts of Australia around New South Wales and Sydney. Director Will Gluck told The Hollywood Reporter that he wanted the film set in Sydney because he had “really fallen in love with the city” and liked it so much he moved his family there.

“Almost every time you shoot a movie in Sydney, you have to pretend it’s somewhere else and frame out the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. For Anyone But You , I thought, “Why do that?” We actually wrote this movie 100 percent for Sydney — very specific to the destination,” Gluck wrote.

The director continued, “We flew helicopters all over — seeing the city from that vantage point is stunning — and landed one at the Opera House, shut down the Harbour Bridge, filmed at the Queen Victoria Building, and shot for two weeks overlooking Bondi Beach,” he said. “We spent a week on a boat in Sydney Harbour shooting a scene where they’re stranded on a buoy, but you can’t have humans in the water without a shark cage, so we had to have one the whole time. You pinch yourself. It’s so unbelievable we were actually doing these things.”

Here are a few specific Anyone But You filming locations you can visit in person.

Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is a focal point in Anyone But You. The 20th-century architectural landmark serves as a gorgeous backdrop for big moments, including the end scene when Ben passionately kisses Bea, who is standing at the top of the steps. You can visit the performing arts center for special events and tours.

Marks Park, Bondi

Located in Sydney's northern suburbs, the wedding scene in Anyone But You was filmed at Marks Park overlooking Bondi Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The cliff-top park is open to the public and has fitness stations, a playground, and some shaded areas.

Many of Anyone But You ’s breathtaking beach scenes were filmed around Palm Beach. Director Will Gluck told THR that one of the best parts of filming was on location in Palm Beach, a suburb in the Northern Beaches.

“Our caravans were parked right on the water, and Glen and Sydney and I decided to live there the whole time. We’d shoot all day and all the crew would go home, then we’d jump in the water and have a swim, go to our trailers and have dinner sitting outside,” he said. “It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world, and you normally wouldn’t be allowed to sleep there. It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had filming.”

Jones Bay Wharf

Jones Bay Wharf in Sydney Harbour's Pyrmont.

The historic Jones Bay Wharf is another familiar filming location in Anyone But You. The hidden gem in the Pyrmont district is home to fine dining restaurants, charming cafes, and beautiful views the of the city and Harbour Bridge.

Queen Victoria Building

Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, Australia.

While on their way to collect flowers for the wedding, Ben and his friend Pete are seen walking alongside the Queen Victoria Building. The Romanesque 19th-century building is actually a five-level shopping center with fashion boutiques, jewelry stores, cafes, and restaurants.

Anyone But You is now streaming on Netflix.

Protection from the elements

Speaking of rain, every park has different weather to consider. Look up the weather patterns for the time period you'll be there and plan accordingly.

Product image of WEERTI Thermal Underwear for Women

You will not need thermal clothing for every park, particularly if you won’t be camping or hiking. If you are though, thermal underwear is perfect for colder parks and prolonged time outdoors.

Ways to keep your devices charged

It may seem counterintuitive to focus on charging electronics when you're off to your first National Park. After all, one of the best things about them is how easy it is to disconnect from our digital, fast-paced world, slow down, and really enjoy the natural world around you. However, for most of us these days, our camera is the same as our phone, and these moments will definitely be ones you don't want to forget.

Product image of Anker USB C Car Charger Adapter and USB Charger

Charge your phone while you’re on the road with this plug-in charger.

Product image of Battery Pack USB C Portable Charger and Power Bank

This portable battery pack lets you charge your phone anywhere.

Maps and guidebooks for when your devices stop working

If you're anything like me, you're used to relying heavily on your map app and Google when figuring out routes to take and places to visit. However, no matter how prepared you are with your tech, you're still at the mercy of nature: in most National Parks, cell service becomes extremely spotty to non-existent. Plus, there's always the chance that you lose your phone or charger in an ill-timed stumble or fall.

Note that at nearly every park, the ranger at the entrance will offer you a map. Yes, paper maps still exist, and you should hang onto it! They're free and call attention to the must-see features of the park while helping you avoid getting lost. The visitor center is also a great safe place should you get lost or lose your devices. You can get maps of individual trails there and ask park rangers for advice about the best places to go.

A first aid kit

When hiking or camping, always have some type of first aid on you. Ideally, you'll never need it, but it's one of those situations where being over-prepared will always be better than being under-prepared. If you don't have room in your pack (but you should!) or will be close enough to populated areas, even just tucking a few Band-Aids and some disinfectant into your pocket can be a good compromise.

A lightweight, waterproof backpack is a great way to store all your stuff.

Product image of MIYCOO Lightweight Waterproof Backpack

For serious hiking, a backpack like Loowoko can help you carry everything you need.

Snacks and drinks

There aren't very many places (or any places, depending on the park) to buy food or drinks within a National Park. Because of this, it's essential to plan your meals and snacks so that you always have a way to stay fed and happy.

There are, however, plenty of places in the park to fill up a water bottle and stay hydrated so a refillable water bottle is a must. A cooler is also a good idea (there are places in most parks to buy ice near campgrounds and visitor areas). Just be sure to know whether bears are a factor with the park you're headed to. If they are, take the appropriate precautions.

This collapsible, leak proof, insulated cooler is convenient for hiking or road trips.

Product image of Yeti Tundra Haul Wheeled Cooler

Hiking gear

Product image of Danner Mountain 600 Hiking Boots for Men

For serious hikers, a solid pair of durable, waterproof hiking boots will help you stay comfortable and safe on the trails.

Product image of Emergency Safety Whistles with Lanyard

This plastic whistle is a reliable way to draw attention in an emergency no matter the weather.

Product image of Cascade Mountain Tech Lightweight Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Trekking Poles

These lightweight trekking poles are a great way to keep your balance on any terrain.

Camping gear

Product image of AlpsWolf Camping Lantern, LED Flashlight

This flashlight can convert to a lantern and even charge your phone in an emergency.

Product image of Coleman Camping Tent with Instant Setup

Having a reliable, waterproof, easy to set up tent should always be a priority while camping.

Product image of Camping Sleeping Bag

Sleeping bags are a classic for a reason—they’re compact, cheap, and work for most weather.

What are National Parks?

What is national park week, can you bring pets to national parks  .

That said, pets are only allowed in certain areas of some parks. Generally, if it is a developed area (think roads, paved walkways, buildings) they're okay to be outside with you walking around. However, not all park buildings allow pets and many trails do not allow pets for their safety and yours.

Keep a close eye on your pet for their safety and yours

Product image of Fida Heavy Duty Dog Leash

A leash is a must for any pet that is traveling to a park with you.

Product image of Dog Poop Bag Holder for Leash

Always have a poop bag handy with a reusable dispenser that can attach to your leash.

Product image of Texsens Innovative Traveler Bubble Backpack Pet Carriers

Smaller pets can travel in backpack-style carriers—just be sure they have proper ventilation.

Hydration matters just as much for them as for you

Be sure to plan for how your pet will stay hydrated just as you will. For hikes, it can be useful to carry a larger water jug that you can use to refill your water bottle and your pet's bowl.

Product image of MalsiPree Dog Water Bottle

This water bottle comes with an attachment that will work as a bowl in a pinch for most dogs.

Product image of Pet Collapsible Portable 2-Pack Bowls

These lightweight water bowls fold flat to make them easy to pack for any hike.

You can visit the Netherlands without leaving central Iowa when the 2024 Pella's Tulip Time festival kicks off this week.

Experience Dutch culture and more than 300,000 blooming tulips during the three-day event consisting of crafts and food vendors, parades and tours. The Tulip Times Festival in Pella started in 1935 as an impromptu gathering of those with Dutch ancestry. From that meeting, a tradition blossomed.

Pella is located in Marion County and only a 50-minute drive from Des Moines.

When you visit Pella during Tulip Time, expect to see people in traditional Dutch clothing, eating Dutch foods and participating in street scrubbing and coffee time.

Here is a guide to this year's 2024 Tulip Time in Pella.

When is Tulip Time 2024?

The Tulip Time Festival will take place May 2, 3 and 4.

It kicks off Thursday at 8 a.m. when local museums open. By 8:30 a.m. tours and the Dutch Master Antique Auto Display will begin. The city is covered with flower gardens displaying thousands of tulips for free. Multiple locations offer displays and fields of celebrated flowers.

  • Fair Haven Memorial Garden at the corner of East Third and Union streets hosts more than 13,000 tulips for visitors to enjoy. It also includes two monuments listing more than 800 area veterans who served in World War II. The tulip garden is replaced with annuals when autumn arrives.

Where can I get tickets for Tulip Time?

Much of the Tulip Time festival can be viewed for free, but some events and attractions require paid tickets. Tickets are required for grandstand shows as well as for a wagon tour of the city, a tour of the windmill and historic village, and through the Scholte House Museum.

Tickets range from $5 for park seating during the stage shows to $20 for tours of the windmill and historic village.

Tickets can be purchased on-site or at pellahistorical.org .

Mnemonics Pro 4+

A brain-sweating ride‪.‬, nishat majid, designed for ipad, screenshots, description.

Welcome to the world of Mnemonics... Where we literally kill your brain cells! Welcome to Prohor's world of Mnemonics ! Are you a forgetful person? Whether it’s silly, like forgetting to do your homework, or something serious like missing a doctor’s appointment, a neglectful mindset can lead to serious damage. Well, no need to stress, this can be improved easily, while having fun. Mnemonic's intentions are to improve your hippocampus, the part of the brain storing information for memory. Therefore, forgetfulness hopefully won’t be a trouble for you anymore. Mnemonics is a timed object matching game, which challenges you with difficult patterns and colors as it goes. This is a simple game, but deceptively useful in practice. Playing this occasionally will sharpen your focus and attention. You will also be able to analyze more indirect information with an improved peripheral vision. Overall, you'll gain better memorization skills, and not just for those silly objects shown in the games. Harder levels come with brain-sweating materials. So start with the easy ones, and only when you are comfortable to move on put more stress on your brain with the harder levels. This app is developed by me, Prohor Nishat. I am only 10 years old and had to use my dad's account to publish Mnemonics for you. Hope you enjoy the playful and colorful world of Mnemonics.
