Carnival Conquest Itineraries
Carnival conquest review, review of carnival conquest.
The 2002-built Carnival Conquest cruise ship is the first Carnival's Conquest-class vessel, with sisterships Freedom , Glory , Valor , Liberty .
The vessel (IMO number 9198355) is currently Panama- flagged (MMSI 357657000) and registered in Colon .
History - construction and ownership
Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) is a US shipping company, trademarked brand and subsidiary of Carnival Corporation (shipowner). CCL was founded in 1972 as an independent company by Ted Arison (1924-1999, co-founder of NCL Norwegian ).
CCL has the Corporation's largest fleet as number of vessels and GT-tonnage (ship sizes/volumes and passenger capacities). In 2023, CCL had ~9% (by revenue) and ~19% (passengers) share of the cruise industry's worldwide market. In 2024, the parent company (Carnival Corporation) had ~51% stake in the US$64+ billion industry.
The 3000-passenger ship Carnival Conquest and her sisterships are among the biggest in the CCL fleet. They are basically larger versions of earlier Destiny-class ships, as well as and more feature-filled. More space reveals into additional decks, more bars and lounges, an upscale steak house, and well-proportioned public areas.
Decks and Cabins
Carnival Conquest staterooms (1492 total, in 27 grades) include 54 Suites, 521 Balcony, 330 Oceanview and 587 Inside cabins, including 25 wheelchair-accessible (in all cabin categories). The ship has no "family cabins" but instead offers connecting rooms in various categories. Most cabins are sized 170-185 ft2 (16-17 m2). Cabin balconies are sized 35-75 ft2 (3-7 m2). The ship has 3 types of suites - Captain's, Grand, Ocean. The largest are Captain's Suites (500 ft2 / 46 m2 plus 150 ft2 / 14 m2 terrace).
The boat has 13 passenger decks , of which 8 are with cabins. Over 50% of all staterooms are outside, 60% of those are with balconies.
Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks
Two formal restaurants onboard Carnival Conquest serve open seating breakfast and lunch. Dinner is served in an open seating option or two assigned seatings. The casual Lido buffet offers a number of food stations with a variety of choices, including a salad bar, deli, dessert station, daily regional cuisines. The ship also boasts an upscale supper club which assesses a cover charge and requires reservations. You'll also find outdoor poolside grills, specialty coffee bar, complimentary sushi bar, pizzeria and 24-hour room service that provides a limited selection of items.

In 2012 Conquest-class ships first received the newly branded Carnival bars and comedy club. Deck parties are a staple highlighted by new musical performances and poolside bars. The focal point on Conquest is a mural collage of works by Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Paul Gauguin, with backlit flowers of Murano glass. Carnival Conquest boasts 22 bars and lounges, giant disco with a jungle theme and stools shaped like lotus flowers, as well as a piano bar, sports bar, wood-paneled lounge with leather chairs and smoking section. The three-level theater is the special venue for Vegas-style productions accompanied by live orchestras.
There are four swimming pools onboard that include the main pool accompanied by a pair of large hot tubs, a stage for live music, and a giant movie screen. The 4200-ft2 Children’s World playroom features a computer lab, video wall, PlayStation games, arts-and-crafts station, and lots of toys for the little ones. Carnival Conquest Wiki
( Fun Ship 2.0 upgrade was done in 2012. Extensively refurbished in 2012 (emerged from drydock in late October), the Conquest ship didn't receive the full "Fun Ship 2.0" upgrade package due to lack of enough deck space for all new facilities. The Conquest is of the Carnival fleet's Conquest-class boats, with sisterships Freedom , Glory , Liberty , Valor .
The first of the Carnival Cruise Line's Conquest-class liners ( Fincantieri Monfalcone -built) started its Inaugural Cruise/Maiden Voyage on November 12, 2002. The ship has a French Impressionist-style interior decor complementing the city of New Orleans . 60% of all staterooms are OceanViews and 37% have balconies. This ship is truly a great choice for families with kids.
Carnival Conquest refurbishments review
The ship's 2009 drydock refurbishment resulted in adding new cabin balconies, LED screen (Seaside Theater, overlooking the main pool area) and the "Circle C" kids club.
The "Fun Ship 2.0 "refurbishment (October 2012) added to the ship signature Carnival bars, burrito, sushi, burger joint, new comedy club (by George Lopez).
Carnival Conquest's last drydock (for scheduled maintenance and class works) was in September 2022, conducted at Navantia shipyard in Cadiz Spain . The works also included hull cleaning and repainting with Carnival’s new livery (red-white-blue) introduced on the flagship Mardi Gras .
The previous drydocking was in 2017.
During drydock 2022 was added CCL-Carnival fleet's first Pickleball Court (installed on top deck). The facility is part of Carnival SportSquare which also includes a Mini-Golf Course and a full-size Sports Court (for playing basketball and volleyball).

Cruising on the Conquest is a way to leave your life and go to somewhere tropical so fast. You're on board for a fun time, not a long time. I always enjoy heading to Bahamas and all the pina coladas, pizza, tacos, dessert. They have a dedicated pickleball court which is awesome!! Bring your own racquet and pickleball if you want to enjoy on the ship. They have equipment there but ya know... your own racquet will always be better. I need more tacos!!

Awesome. Seriously awesome. Crazy busy. Half moon cay is beautiful. Bahamas is not. Way to busy and all the shops are selling the same stuff. Cruising out of Miami to the Bahamas is waaaaay nicer than out of Long Beach to Mexico but I will say the people are more friendly out of California. The only bad thing I could say is when we got to the ship the searched everyone like we were going to the county jail. Dogs smelling your bags. They were opening people bags and going through their stuff waaaay worse than the airport. Mind you there are the people that you have paid to go on a vacation. Also the staff is not as good as Long Beach. Also I only drink water and Crystal Geyser is disgusting.
SOo far on a good start. The stateroom attendant Jophet is doing the most. Decent size balcony area. Twin beds are narrow but the sheets are nice.
Balcony room
Awesome attention to details
Everyone is sweet and kind when you arrive for your cruise vacation, but the moment you're off the ship at the end of the cruise, that's where the customer service ends. Everyone was just rude! Expect much better from Carnival as a first time cruiser.
Can I give this 10-Stars!!! This ship is smaller compared to other Carnival ships however , it gives all the FUN! Tons of shows / activities for the young and old and food around the clock!! Karaoke - A Must!!! Cruise Cousins - We created a FB group and kept in touch the entire cruise!!! This is my new travel group!! Kids Ocean is an kids club where you can check your kids in and out of s decors place and the adults can unwind. Very secure!! Tons of Bars and the bartenders are amazing!!! The boat overall was clean and easy to get from floor to floors. Overall the food is free however , some places you have to pay extra ...Sushi / Steak Night. Elegant Night - Dress up for dinner in the MDR (Main Dining Room). ** I wish I could post more than pictures!! ** Take the cruise ...Spend the money. This was a 3-day cruise to Nassau , Bahamas!! Totally worth it. We had the interior room. The most inexpensive room but remember- you're not on a cruise to spend time in the room - just to sleep / shower / change clothes / and back to the party!!

It was our first cruise and it set the bar for what a good time is and what the potential for the next can be. Went on board with open expectations. And great full for what I received. Ruby at the Point steakhouse was above point. "Pun intended " Exquisite experience and the chefs were solid. Steal your way yes please!! Iman at the Monet was the man! Made you feel at home! A place where they know your name is awesome. The staff were gracious.... With the volume of people, heat and humidity, for them to still be on point I commend all. I do wish the pools were larger. Overall a great first impression to the life of cruising. Thank you Carnival
We normally have wonderful trips with Carnival, but this one was not as nice. I enjoy playing in the casino and every other time the dealers and managers were really fun. This time they didn't interact much with us, only to tell us to move our drinks or put our phones down. There were two dealers who really stood out. There always are rude passengers on ships, but this one had more. People would push in front of us to get on the elevator, even though we had one person in a wheelchair. People were noisy up and down the hallways all night as we tried to sleep -- yelling and playing music. We will try a more expensive cruise next time to see if there is a difference. I love Carnival and am a gold member owning 200 shares of their stock, but I will try another to see if they cater to more courteous customers.
Although this is an older ship we had an amazing time! Our concierge Andy was AMAZING! He made us feel like this was our home away from home. My children and I enjoyed exploring the ship daily for adventures and discovering different spaces we hadn't seen. We especially enjoyed the rubber duck hunt! Lol! The food was superb and the activities were engaging and fun. On the fun at sea days we stayed on the ship we were never bored. All of the crew were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great vacation!
EXCELLENT! My family and I love Carnival Cruise line, but tbis was our first time on the Conquest ship. The employees were really nice, the food was delicious, and we definitely enjoyed the entertainment on the ship. I spent my pre birthday celebration on the ship, so the staff made my birthday very pleasant. My only issue was that I was supposed to have some items delivered to my room before I got on, and it didn't happen. My husband went down stairs and Guest services took care of the issue. Besides that, I we will definitely plan another trip soon. :-)

My wife, and I went on Carnival Conquest for her birthday, on 2/24. We love Carnival Cruise lines, so this was definitely an outstanding cruise trip. We went to Nassau, Bahamas. Great food on the ship, great entertainment, and nice scenery from our balcony. Even though this was a 3 day cruise, and one of the shortest cruises we've gone too. We will be cruising again soon, and the cruise will be much longer.

Which Terminal for Carnival at Port of Miami?

I tried searching for the answer to this, but not sure how to put the right search words together to come up with what I need, so.....here goes.
We're flying into MIA and taking a taxi to POM for our April 18 cruise on Carnival Pride. I looked on the Carnival website FAQ to see where we should go, this is what I came up with:
PORT OF MIAMI / DODGE ISLAND
Terminal D - 1435 North Cruise Boulevard, Port of Miami, Miami, FL 33132
Terminal E - 1265 North Cruise Boulevard, Port of Miami, Miami, FL 33132
Travel Time: 8 miles from the Miami International Airport; travel time is approximately 25 minutes. 25 miles from the Fort Lauderdale International Airport; travel time is approximately 45 minutes.
So I guess my question is: is there any way to find out which terminal we should go to? I saw a satellite picture of the port somebody posted and it looks pretty big -- and I'd rather not get dropped off at the wrong terminal and have to huff our stuff to the right one. Or is there only one place to go and I'm worrying over nothing?

Its the same place. Essentially one long pier. Driver will know.
There is absolutely NO need for you to worry or do any preplanning. The cab drivers know where each line "parks". And on top of that, there are signs with each ship and pier number at the port. You will NOT need to know anything but the name of the ship you are boarding. Just enjoy the ride and the view as you near the ships lined up! Your driver will take you right to the loading area. :D
Okay, thanks....the pic I saw it looked like the ships were tied up end to end, and given how long they are, I wouldn't want to have walk too many ship's lengths to get to "our" ship!
Just tell the driver your cruise line and ship and enjoy your vacation.

Carnival Cruise Line to Downsize Miami Headquarters
By nick trombola april 10, 2024 1:18 pm.
Carnival wants to spend more time on the sun deck and less in the office.
Despite its status as one of the world’s largest cruise lines, Carnival is aiming to downsize from its sprawling 470,000-square-foot headquarters at 3655 NW 87th Avenue in Miami, Bloomberg reported.
For its new space, the company is looking for about 300,000 square feet in the Miami area, a reduction of about 36 percent. The company has listed its current headquarters for sale and has tapped Cushman & Wakefield to broker a deal.
A C&W spokesperson confirmed it was hired by Carnival, but declined to comment further.
Carnival has called the facility on Northwest 87th Avenue home for about 30 years, having purchased the property in late 1994 for $23 million, according to property records.
“We informed our team members last fall that we are exploring options for new office facilities in South Florida,” spokesperson for Carnival told Commercial Observer in an email. “As we search and evaluate, we expect to continue operations in our current headquarters for at least the next two years.”
Carnival isn’t the only cruise company rethinking its headquarters and office space in the post-COVID world. Swiss cruise company MSC Group announced earlier this year that it would take about 130,000 square feet at a mixed-use development under construction near Miami’s downtown. MSC is also building a new four-story cruise terminal at PortMiami , which is expected to handle three ships and up to 36,000 passengers per day at any given time.
Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean Group has also recently broken ground on a 10-story, 380,000-square-foot headquarters campus at PortMiami, according to the South Florida Business Journal .

Carnival Puts Miami Headquarters Up for Sale as Florida Real Estate Soars
Carnival Corp. has listed for sale its sprawling headquarters on the outskirts of Miami, seeking to cash in on real estate the cruise giant has owned for roughly three decades.
The company is now looking to downsize to about 300,000 square feet (27,871 square meters) of new office space in the Miami area, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named citing private discussions.
Carnival expects to remain at its current headquarters in the city of Doral for the next two years. The building dates back to the 1980s and encompasses 470,000 square feet. A spokesperson confirmed that the firm is “exploring options for new office facilities.”
Carnival hired brokerage Cushman & Wakefield Plc to handle the sale, a spokesperson for the brokerage confirmed, declining to add further details. The last recorded sale of the property dates back to 1983, when it was acquired for $16.6 million.
The decision to sell reflects a broader trend of companies reevaluating their office space needs in the post-pandemic era. While some tenants are looking to upgrade their facilities to entice employees back to the office, others are downsizing to reduce costs.
For Carnival, the sale is a chance to unlock a potential windfall from decades of real estate growth in Doral, where property values have soared alongside the area’s condo boom and the popularity of Donald Trump’s Blue Monster golf course. But it will also mean the company will be navigating a red-hot market to find new office space in the Miami region.
Currently, Carnival’s Doral headquarters is about 15 miles away on gridlocked highways from the port of Miami, where Carnival ships dock.
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which unlike Carnival is based inside the port, has recently broken ground on a new 10-story headquarters building in the vicinity. MSC Cruises SA, which is building a new cruise terminal at the port, said it will move its US headquarters to a downtown Miami office building near the port as well.
Carnival’s move to upgrade its headquarters underscores how well the cruise industry has done in recent years. Carnival, one of the largest cruise companies in the world, has seen bookings bounce back to a record since the pandemic. The company has 120,000 employees globally and serves about 13 million cruise vacationers per year.
