Expedia Cancelled Trip to NY

I had to change a return flight due to a family health situation. Tried from the very beginning to change and was slowed down by Expedia and then they tried to overcharge for the change by $795. Ended up talking with American Airlines who put me on the return flight I needed for under $400 . Said they canceled the return flight I had with Expedia and I should have a credit with them. No way to contact you and see the credit, all I see is the full charge. Completely stolen money. Will use Expedia to see future travels but will NOT book with them. No support, dishonest, a company that needs to go the way of Sears, Buick, and other companies that didn’t support customers

Expedia You Will Sacrifice Full Service

Know Before You Go! Dec. 2023 Our Expedia reservation at Embassy Suites a Hilton Hotel was treated as third class. The Hotel refused to acknowledge my Gold level status with Expedia or my Hilton Honors membership for the 9 day stay. Additionally, both the hotel and its corporate officer refuse to refund a portion of our stay due to a serious housekeeping issue. They specifically refused because my reservation had been made through “third party” Expedia. The hotel front desk told me that because I had booked through Expedia, any travel perks through Hilton were void. So far, my complaint to Expedia’s customer service has not produced a response. If you use Expedia for its discounts, beware. You will sacrifice full service.

Expedia Home Office - Seniors Taken Advantage Of

Booked via E for the hotel as we seniors were moving back east. Not knowing when our furnishings would arrive, I cannot believe I booked us a NONrefundable 8-day stay!!!! Nothing on my receipt states anything! After continual follow-ups with the local hotel, the front desk told me they had paid back the “virtual credit card” and to contact E for a refund. That is easier said than done. Why do I have to hold them accountable for money due us? We checked out after 4 days to learn all this stuff. Since the hotel has paid back E, why can’t we just get a refund to the credit card charged without a lot of trouble? I say this has been the worst experience of all my traveling in fifty years… I’m 76 and too old for this nonsense. due $400+ Where’s the refund?

Expedia Does Not Stand By Their Word

Expedia does not stand by their word, and they are scamming people out of their money. Awful company. I’m calling their home office number listed and the number does not work.

Representative advised my reservation was canceled without any penalties or fees and Expedia still charging me for the cancelation fees. I have the transcript be tween the Expedia representative and myself and submitted the transcript and Expedia still went back on their word.

Expedia Customer Service

Expedia’s customer service is abysmal. I have a problem with the setup of the new One Key. Chat doesn’t allow the possibility of an “all other” category of problem, and phone support has no ability to help in this area either.

Waterfront Workplace

Expedia group seattle headquarters.

When visitors step foot inside Expedia’s Seattle headquarters, there’s a distinct sense of leaving one world behind and arriving someplace new. The 40-acre waterfront site is more than a corporate campus—it’s a destination built upon the very notion of travel. Inspired by the site’s rich history as a former biotech hub, ZGF devised a campus master plan that breathes new life into the architecture, restores the surrounding landscape to its natural beauty, and crafts an entire experience around Expedia’s mission to bring the world within reach.

A scaled approach to the campus entry sets the stage for a grand arrival, establishing the urban campus’ setting within the distinctly Pacific Northwest landscape.

expedia travel headquarters

The 950,000 SF renovation and expansion reimagines an existing biotech campus into a series of modern workspaces that connect from inside to outside, building to building, and team to team.

expedia travel headquarters

A dynamic water feature creates a bridge from the landscape to the interior, symbolic of embarking on a new adventure.

expedia travel headquarters

The lobby reinforces this dramatic sense of arrival, where many paths simultaneously converge and take off.

expedia travel headquarters

With the main pedestrian thoroughfare running along level two, the ground floor is kept open as a meeting place.

expedia travel headquarters

Transparency into and through the lobby—to the workplace on either side and to the landscape beyond—emphasizes the sense of connection and discovery of what’s ahead.

AHEAD OF THE CURVE

While the campus was always designed to be flexible, no one could have predicted how well-positioned it would be for the future of hybrid work. It offers what employees can’t get at home: acres of lush green space, panoramic views, social amenities, and workspaces that foster purposeful connection. With plenty of choices and no assigned seating, employees can find the environment that empowers their best work.

expedia travel headquarters

ZGF transformed three existing lab buildings into 600,000 SF of open office that blurs the lines between hyper-focused and hyper-collaborative programming.

expedia travel headquarters

A new 350,000 SF addition creates an architectural statement to eventually accommodate up to 6,500 employees campuswide, with views of downtown Seattle, Mount Rainier, Puget Sound, and the Olympics.

expedia travel headquarters

The heart of campus is where old meets new: a daylit atrium that serves as a dining area and flexible meeting space for all-hands, quarterly earnings, fireside chats, and guest speakers.

expedia travel headquarters

Off the atrium, a 600-seat market hall offers globally inspired cuisine from morning to night.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

Without any private offices or assigned seating, the workplace design breaks down traditional hierarchies to create parity across buildings and teams. Groups are organized into neighborhoods with a variety of collaboration spaces, hoteling, individual focus rooms, and large common areas that bring people together. The diversity of space and choice allows employees to experience work from anywhere at Expedia’s campus in a meaningful way.

expedia travel headquarters

Warm and inviting interiors create a hospitality-infused environment worthy of the commute. Social points throughout campus each have their own personality, featuring soft lighting, rich textures, and playful pops of color.

expedia travel headquarters

Connecting bridges encourage circulation between buildings, but they also boast some of the best views on campus.

expedia travel headquarters

Operable sliding glass doors offer uninterrupted views of the Puget Sound and interior courtyards when weather permits.

ONE WITH NATURE

Expedia’s sensitive treatment of the landscape reflects its deep commitment to health and wellbeing. Highly activated outdoor spaces on the waterfront setting are a hallmark of the LEED Gold campus experience, with walking and biking trails, beach access, tree groves, lush courtyards, a play field, and amphitheater. Robust Wi-Fi infrastructure enables teams to work all the way down to the shoreline. The design also emphasizes wellness with abundant daylight, views, operable windows, connections to nature within the workplace, an onsite health clinic, fitness center, and locker rooms for self-propelled commuters.

CENTRAL ENERGY

The original 1997 campus featured a steam-based central heating plant, chilled water plant, and laboratory systems for air distribution and space conditioning. The renovation re-used much of the original architectural and central utility plant frameworks, but replaced, enhanced, and added envelope and MEP systems to meet the new building programming and project performance goals. The upgraded central utility plant supplies chilled water and heating water via a primary-secondary configuration to hydronic coils across the campus. The existing steam boiler plant was removed and replaced with a mix of air-to-water heat pumps, heat recovery chillers, and high-efficiency gas fired condensing boilers. The heat recovery chiller provides simultaneous heating and cooling when possible to maximize energy efficiency and carbon reduction. Chilled water is provided by two existing upgraded chillers and a newly added third chiller. Cooling towers were also refurbished to minimize water use and chemical requirements.

expedia travel headquarters

For decades, much of the existing site was paved over for industrial uses. Surfacedesign, Inc. restored the landscape with native, climate-appropriate plantings, rehabilitated the beachline, and completed a missing link in the Elliott Bay Trail for public use.

Check Out Expedia’s New Seattle Waterfront HQ, Plus 2 More Awesome Tech Offices

Seattle tech is justly famous for its offices. Tech giants here put meeting rooms in treehouses, on-premise libraries and (how could you forget) globe-shaped greenhouses.

But while the Big Two tend to dominate the discussion around Seattle tech’s most impressive offices, they’re far from the only game in town. Here, we’ve lined up three of our favorite offices in the city, including a fast-growing Pioneer Square startup and a downtown tech office-turned-spaceship. We’ve also got a first look inside Expedia Group’s much-hyped new headquarters, boasting green spaces, trails — and acres of beachfront.

Psyched to check them out? So are we.

Expedia Group

Along with its eponymous travel site, Expedia Group also powers Hotels.com, Vrbo, Egencia, trivago, HomeAway, Hotwire and plenty more. At the time of publication, Expedia Group was still headquartered in Bellevue — but not for much longer. In October the company officially moves into its massive new campus on 40 acres of Elliott Bay waterfront, just north of downtown Seattle.

Address: 1111 Expedia Group Way, Seattle.

These surroundings will serve as a constant source of inspiration for current and future employees...”

Favorite feature: Expedia Group’s new campus is designed to evoke the company’s favorite elements of travel — green spaces, multi-use trails, beachfront and impressive views of Puget Sound and the mountainous Olympic Peninsula beyond.

Quotable quote: “Truly one-of-a-kind, the 40-acre campus is surrounded by the natural environment,” Vice President of Global Real Estate Mark Nagle said. “These surroundings will serve as a constant source of inspiration for current and future employees, who are committed to our purpose of bringing the world within reach.”

For those who prefer science fiction to the great outdoors, Axon has you covered. With “portal doors,” “Matrix-style” seats and a generally futuristic style, Axon employees feel more like they’re orbiting the Earth than suspended high above bustling — and public transit-rich — downtown. And as for the work itself, the company builds a range of hardware and software products designed to help protect police officers and the communities they serve.

Address: 1100 Olive Way, Seattle

When employees enter the Axon Seattle offices, they immediately feel like they’ve stepped into the future...”

Favorite feature: Axon employees love the futuristic portal door that opens into their office. Founder and CEO Rick Smith is an avid Star Wars fan — to the point that he pays to send employees to theaters every time the great saga continues — and sees great value in designing his company’s workspace to mirror the sci-fi aesthetic. By entering through this portal, visitors and employees to Axon’s Seattle office immediately feel like they have been catapulted into the future, ready to work on advanced public safety technology.

Quotable quote: “When employees enter the Axon Seattle offices, they immediately feel like they’ve stepped into the future: the white, clean lines of the furniture, sci-fi inspired lighting in elevator portals and kitchens and Matrix-style chairs inspire employees to feel like they are working on advanced technology — from space,” PR and Communications Manager Carley Partridge said. “There is one traditionally designed room in the entire two-floor office space: a library filled with leather-bound books and mahogany chairs, tables and flooring. The idea of having this very traditional space is for when employees need time to reflect on the significance of what they are working on. They can ‘come down to earth’ and feel ‘at home’ before going back out into the spaceship, set to resume working on technology that will impact the world and save lives.”

Even here, in the birthplace of AWS and tech’s so-called “Cloud Capital,” there is no one cloud to rule them all. To leverage the benefits of a multi-cloud world, Upbound helps businesses run, scale and optimize their services across multiple public and private cloud environments. Headquartered in a sleek Pioneer Square space, the Google-backed startup has plenty of room to grow — and plenty of opportunity for ambitious Seattle techies.

Address: 316 2nd Ave. S, Seattle

...Our environment reflects and encourages that inclusive, collaborative culture.”

Favorite feature: Upbound loves its avatar wall. Evidence of the startup’s deep collaboration shines throughout the office, and the first thing visitors see is all the employees together in avatar form. This gives everyone a sense of place and team — and employees love to see new avatars showing up all the time. As an open-source company, Upbound wants to make sure everyone is visually represented as one team — no matter where they live or how they work.

Quotable quote: “Upbounders can tap in from anywhere, whether remote or here in the office, and our environment reflects and encourages that inclusive, collaborative culture,” Head of Recruiting Reilly Whiting said. “We bookended the space with our common areas: employees gravitate to the sofas by the massive half-moon lunette windows that have been a staple of the Moses Building since it was built in 1900, or the well-equipped kitchen and dining area. In between, we mix open-plan work areas with all-glass sound-proof pods that enable quiet time while staying connected to the team. Because we are all wired in, everyone meets through their computer so we can see every face. Upbound is constantly thinking of ways to scale remotely, while also appealing to the employee who wants to be in the office.”

Visit Moscow

Moscow travel guide video.

From the fortified Kremlin and gold church domes, to modern skyscrapers, museums and galleries, Moscow’s landmarks reveal much about its history and future. Wars and revolutions have transformed the Russian capital many times in the past. Today it is a prosperous and cosmopolitan city. Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, hundreds of thousands of tourists come to Moscow every year for its art, history and culture.

Make Red Square your first stop. The enormous historic plaza is bordered by some of the city’s most famous buildings. Gaze in awe at St. Basil’s Cathedral with its intriguing multicolored domes. The church was built for Ivan the Terrible in the 16th century to commemorate a military victory. At the opposite end of the square is the State Historical Museum, full of artifacts that tell the story of Russia from prehistoric times to the present. Venture into the Lenin Mausoleum to see the preserved body of the former head of government of the Soviet Union.

Take a tour of the Kremlin, the vast 69-acre (29-hectare) fortified complex that occupies the spot where Moscow was founded. The compound encompasses churches, cathedrals, palaces and the official residence of the president of Russia. Appreciate the religious icons and frescoes inside the Cathedral of the Assumption. See tombs of Russian rulers in the Cathedral of the Archangel.

Anywhere in Moscow, you’re never far from a park or garden. One of the most famous is the 300-acre (120-hectare) Gorky Park, along the banks of the Moscow River. Walk, cycle or rollerblade along its paths, go boating on the lake or play tennis and other sports. During winter, ice skate on the huge rink.

You’ll find many evening activities in the city. Watch opera or ballet at the Bolshoi Theatre, dine in a café or restaurant on Arbat Street and dance in clubs featuring international DJs.

Fly into Sheremetyevo International Airport and get around by bus, tram, taxi, the metro system or rental car. Let Moscow thrill you with its fascinating buildings and history.
